Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetes mellitus (DM) is frequently associated with the occurrence and development of depression, and the co-occurrence of diabetes mellitus with depression (DD) may further reduce patients' quality of life. Recent research indicates that dopamine receptors (DRs) play a crucial role in immune and metabolic regulation. Pramipexole (PPX), a D2/3R agonist, has demonstrated promising neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects. Nevertheless, the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of action of PPX on DM-induced depression are not clear at present. METHODS Depression, DM, and DD were induced in a rat model through a combination of a high-fat diet (HFD) supplemented with streptozotocin (STZ) and chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) combined with solitary cage rearing. The pathogenesis of DD and the neuroprotective effects of DRs agonists were investigated using behavioral assays, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, Nissl staining, Western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). RESULTS DD rats exhibited more severe dopaminergic, neuroinflammatory, and neuroplastic impairments and more pronounced depressive behaviors than rats with depression alone or DM. Our findings suggest that DRs agonists have significant therapeutic effects on DD rats and that PPX improved neuroplasticity and decreased neuroinflammation in the hippocampus of DD rats while also promoting DG cell growth and differentiation, ultimately mitigating depression-like behaviors. LIMITATION Our study is based on a rat model. Further evidence is needed to determine whether the therapeutic effects of PPX apply to patients suffering from DD. CONCLUSIONS Neuroinflammation mediated by damage to the dopaminergic system is one of the key pathogenic mechanisms of DD. We provide evidence that PPX has a neuroprotective effect on the hippocampus in DD rats and the mechanism may involve the inhibition of NOD-, LRR- and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation by DRs to attenuate the neuroinflammatory response and neuroplasticity damage.

Abstract
PURPOSE Although targeted biopsies (TBx) are associated with improved disease assessment, concerns have been raised regarding the risk of prostate cancer (PCa) overgrading due to more accurate biopsy core deployment in the index lesion. METHODS We identified 1672 patients treated with radical prostatectomy (RP) with a positive mpMRI and ISUP ≥ 2 PCa detected via systematic biopsy (SBx) plus TBx. We compared downgrading rates at RP (ISUP 4-5, 3, and 2 at biopsy, to a lower ISUP) for PCa detected via SBx only (group 1), via TBx only (group 2), and eventually for PCa detected with the same ISUP 2-5 at both SBx and TBx (group 3), using multivariable logistic regression models (MVA). RESULTS Overall, 12 vs 14 vs 6% (n = 176 vs 227 vs 96) downgrading rates were recorded in group 1 vs group 2 vs group 3, respectively (p < 0.001). At MVA, group 2 was more likely to be downgraded (OR 1.26, p = 0.04), as compared to group 1. Conversely, group 3 was less likely to be downgraded at RP (OR 0.42, p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Downgrading rates are highest when PCa is present in TBx only and, especially when the highest grade PCa is diagnosed by TBx cores only. Conversely, downgrading rates are lowest when PCa is identified with the same ISUP through both SBx and TBx. The presence of clinically significant disease at SBx + TBx may indicate a more reliable assessment of the disease at the time of biopsy potentially reducing the risk of downgrading at final pathology.

Abstract
Regenerating tissues similar to dental structure with normal function are putatively to be the aim in tooth regeneration filed. Currently, researchers preliminarily achieved tooth regeneration by applying dental pulp stem cell (DPSC) and stem cell from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED). However, the regeneration efficiency remains unstable and needs further investigation. The development of single-cell RNA sequencing and organoid culture system provide potential of precise, targeted and controllable functional regeneration. This article reviews the current state of DPSC/SHED on tooth regeneration, and analyzes characteristics and hotspots of them, aiming to shed light on clinical translational application of stable and efficient tooth regeneration.

Abstract
AIM To investigate differences in iron deposition between infarct and normal cerebral arterial regions in acute ischaemic stroke (AIS) patients using quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM). MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty healthy controls and 40 AIS patients were recruited, and their QSM images were obtained. There were seven regions of interest (ROIs) in AIS patients, including the infarct regions of responsible arteries (R1), the non-infarct regions of responsible arteries (R2), the contralateral symmetrical sites of lesions (R3), and the non-responsible cerebral arterial regions (R4, R5, R6, R7). For the healthy controls, the cerebral arterial regions corresponding to the AIS patient group were selected as ROIs. The differences in corresponding ROI susceptibilities between AIS patients and healthy controls and the differences in susceptibilities between infarcted and non-infarct regions in AIS patients were compared. RESULTS The susceptibilities of infarct regions in AIS patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (p<0.0001). There was no significant difference in non-infarct regions between the two groups (p>0.05). The susceptibility of the infarct regions in AIS patients was significantly higher than those of the non-infarct region of responsible artery and non-responsible cerebral arterial regions (p<0.01). CONCLUSIONS Abnormal iron deposition detected by QSM in the infarct regions of AIS patients may not affect iron levels in the non-infarct regions of responsible arteries and normal cerebral arteries, which may open the door for potential new diagnostic and treatment strategies.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES For patients with severe cardiopulmonary failure, such as cardiogenic shock, veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) is primarily utilized to preserve their life by providing continuous extracorporeal respiration and circulation. However, because of the complexity of patients' underlying diseases and serious complications, successful weaning from ECMO is often difficult. At present, there have been limited studies on ECMO weaning strategies, so the principal purpose of this meta-analysis is to examine how levosimendan contributes to the weaning of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. METHODS The Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, and PubMed were browsed for all potentially related research about clinical benefits of levosimendan in weaning patients receiving VA-ECMO and included 15 of them. The main outcome is success of weaning from extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, with the secondary outcomes of 1-month mortality (28 or 30 days), ECMO duration, hospital or intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay, and use of vasoactive drugs. RESULTS 1772 patients altogether from 15 publications were incorporated in our meta-analysis. We used fixed and random-effect models to combine odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for dichotomous outcomes and standardized mean difference (SMD) for continuous outcomes. The weaning success rate in the levosimendan group was considerably higher in contrast to the comparison (OR = 2.78, 95% CI 1.80-4.30; P < 0.00001; I2 = 65%), and subgroup analysis showed that there was less heterogeneity in patients after cardiac surgery (OR = 2.06, 95% CI, 1.35-3.12; P = 0.0007; I2 = 17%). In addition, the effect of levosimendan on improving weaning success rate was statistically significant only at 0.2 mcg/kg/min (OR = 2.45, 95% CI, 1.11-5.40; P = 0.03; I2 = 38%). At the same time, the 28-day or 30-day proportion of deaths in the sample receiving levosimendan also decreased (OR = 0.47, 95% CI, 0.28-0.79; P = 0.004; I2 = 73%), and the difference was statistically significant. In terms of secondary outcomes, we found that individuals undergoing levosimendan treatment had a longer duration of VA-ECMO support. CONCLUSIONS In patients receiving VA-ECMO, levosimendan treatment considerably raised the weaning success rate and helped lower mortality. Since most of the evidence comes from retrospective studies, more randomized multicenter trials are required to verify the conclusion.

Abstract
Zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are promising energy storage systems due to high energy density, low-cost, and abundant availability of zinc as a raw material. However, the greatest challenge in ZIBs research is lack of suitable cathode materials that can reversibly intercalate Zn2+ ions. 2D layered materials, especially MoS2 -based, attract tremendous interest due to large surface area and ability to intercalate/deintercalate ions. Unfortunately, pristine MoS2 obtained by traditional protocols such as chemical exfoliation or hydrothermal/solvothermal methods exhibits limited electronic conductivity and poor chemical stability upon charge/discharge cycling. Here, a novel molecular strategy to boost the electrochemical performance of MoS2 cathode materials for aqueous ZIBs is reported. The use of dithiolated conjugated molecular pillars, that is, 4,4'-biphenyldithiols, enables to heal defects and crosslink the MoS2 nanosheets, yielding covalently bridged networks (MoS2 -SH2) with improved ionic and electronic conductivity and electrochemical performance. In particular, MoS2 -SH2 electrodes display high specific capacity of 271.3 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 , high energy density of 279 Wh kg-1 , and high power density of 12.3 kW kg-1 . With its outstanding rate capability (capacity of 148.1 mAh g-1 at 10 A g-1 ) and stability (capacity of 179 mAh g-1 after 1000 cycles), MoS2 -SH2 electrodes outperform other MoS2 -based electrodes in ZIBs.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of varied oxygen (O2) concentration environments on the phenotypic transformation of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMC) and the mechanism of pulmonary hypertension. Methods: Primary rat PASMC were isolated and cultured through the process of enzymatic digestion. Following identification, the stable passaged PASMC were subjected to a 6-hour incubation in sealed containers with normal O2 content (group C) and relative O2 content comprising 55% (group H55), 75% (group H75), and 95% (group H95). mRNA and protein expression of α-Actin (α-SMA), smooth muscle 22α (SM22α), osteopontin (OPN), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) were measured using real-time quantitative PCR and western blot analysis. Results: The H55 group displayed no significant difference from the C group in terms of mRNA and relative protein expression levels for α-SMA, SM22α, OPN, and MMP-2 (all P>0.05). On the other hand, groups H75 and H95 exhibited a reduction in mRNA and relative protein expression of α-SMA and SM22α, along with an increase in mRNA and relative protein expression of OPN and MMP-2 when compared with both the C and H55 groups (all P<0.05). The H95 group showed a higher relative mRNA expression of MMP-2 as compared to the H75 group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Oxygen concentration environments of 75% or higher can serve as the foundation for the pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension, essentially by inducing a phenotypic transformation in PASMC towards adopting a robust secretory function. This induction is contingent upon the concentration of oxygen present.

Abstract
The rational design of high-performance anode materials is crucial for the development of rechargeable Na-ion batteries (NIBs) and K-ion batteries (KIBs). In this study, based on density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we have systematically investigated the possibility of a bilayer triazine-based covalent organic framework (bilayer TCOF) as an anode for NIBs and KIBs. The calculation of the electronic band structure shows that the bilayer TCOF is a direct band gap semiconductor with a band gap of 2.01 eV. After the adsorption of Na/K at the most favorable sites, the bilayer TCOF transitions from a semiconductor to a metal state, guaranteeing good electronic conductivity. The low diffusion barriers of the bilayer TCOF are 0.45 and 0.26 eV, respectively, indicating a fast diffusion rate of Na/K ions. In addition, the bilayer TCOF has a theoretical storage capacity of up to 628 mA h g-1. Finally, it is found that the average voltage of the bilayer TCOF for NIBs and KIBs is 0.53 and 0.48 V, respectively. Based on these results, we can conclude that the bilayer TCOF may be a suitable anode material for NIBs and KIBs.

Abstract
AIM To determine whether tumour vascular and cellular heterogeneity of high-grade glioma (HGG) is predictive of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation status and overall survival (OS) by using tumour habitat-based analysis constructed by perfusion and/or diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy-eight HGG patients that met the 2021 World Health Organization WHO Classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System, 5th edition (WHO CNS5), were enrolled to predict IDH mutation status, of which 32 grade 4 patients with unmethylated O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter were enrolled for prognostic analysis. The deep-learning-based model nnU-Net and K-means clustering algorithm were applied to construct the Traditional Habitat, Vascular Habitat (VH), Cellular Density Habitat (DH), and their Combined Habitat (CH). Quantitative parameters were extracted and compared between IDH-mutant and IDH-wild-type patients, respectively, and the prediction potential was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. OS was analysed using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and the log-rank test. RESULTS Compared with IDH-mutants, median relative cerebral blood volume (rCBVmedian) values in the whole enhancing tumour (WET), VH1, VH3, CH1-4 habitats were significantly increased in IDH-wild-type HGGs (all p<0.05). Additionally, the accuracy of rCBVmedian values in CH1 outperformed other habitats in identifying IDH mutation status (p<0.001) at a cut-off value of 4.83 with AUC of 0.815. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis highlighted significant differences in OS between the populations dichotomised by the median of rCBVmedian in WET, VH1, CH1-3 habitats (all p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The habitat imaging technique may improve the accuracy of predicting IDH mutation status and prognosis, and even provide a new direction for subsequent personalised precision treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) with triglyceride glucose index (TyG) and TyG-related indicators in Uyghur populations of The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Methods: Based on the cohort of the Uygur population of The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 11 833 study subjects were included. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate the cumulative incidence of CVD in each quartile of TyG and TyG-related indicators. Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to evaluate the relationship between TyG and CVD, TyG-related indicators and CVD. Framingham CVD risk score model (Framingham model) was used to evaluate whether the addition of TyG and TyG-related indicators could improve the predictive ability of the model. The potential mediating role of the TyG in the association between obesity and CVD was examined through mediation effect analysis. Results: The average age of the subjects was (37.00±13.67) years-old, and 51.0% were male. The median follow-up time was 5.67 years, with 1 288 CVD events. The cumulative incidence of CVD increased with the increase of TyG and TyG-related indicators quartiles, and compared with the Q1 group, the risk of CVD in the Q4 group of TyG, TyG-BMI, and TyG-WHtR increased by 20% (HR=1.20, 95%CI: 1.01-1.42), 77% (HR=1.77, 95%CI: 1.46-2.16) and 68% (HR=1.68, 95%CI: 1.36-2.09), respectively. After adding TyG, TyG-BMI, and TyG-WHtR to the Framingham model, respectively, the model's area under the curve, net reclassification improvement, and integrated discrimination improvement were improved. In the association between BMI, WHtR, and CVD, the proportion of mediating effects mediated by the TyG index was 10.55% and 11.50%. Conclusions: Elevated levels of TyG and TyG-related indicators were strongly associated with the risk of CVD in the Uyghur population of The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, with TyG-BMI being the most closely correlated with CVD. Early monitoring of TyG-BMI helps identify high-risk groups of CVD.

Abstract
The present meta-analysis investigated the clinical value of serum matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 levels in Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. Studies assessing the outcomes of patients with COVID-19 in correlation with the MMP-9 levels were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane, WANFANG, and CNKI. A meta-analysis was performed to compare the serum MMP-9 levels between different patient groups: Severe vs. non-severe; acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) vs. non-ARDS; non-survivors vs. survivors; neurologic syndrome vs. non-neurologic syndrome; and obese diabetic vs. non-obese diabetic. A total of 2,062 COVID-19-confirmed patients from 12 studies were included in this meta-analysis. The serum MMP-9 levels were significantly higher in patients with severe COVID-19 than in those with non-severe COVID-19 [weighted mean difference (WMD) 246.61 (95% confidence interval (CI), 115.86-377.36), P<0.001]. Patients with ARDS exhibited significantly higher MMP-9 levels than those without ARDS [WMD 248.55 (95% CI, 63.84-433.25), P<0.001]. The MMP-9 levels in the non-survivors did not significantly differ from those in the survivors [WMD 37.79 (95% CI, -18.08-93.65), P=0.185]. Patients with comorbidities, including neurological syndromes, and obese diabetic patients had significantly higher MMP-9 levels than those without comorbidities [WMD 170.73 (95% CI, 95.61-245.85), P<0.001]. Serum MMP-9 levels were associated with COVID-19 severity and may serve as a therapeutic target for improving the prognosis of patients with COVID-19.

Abstract
Malignant tumors represent a significant health challenge, critically impacting human well-being. Historically, the focus has been on leveraging the biochemical cues of tumors for both diagnosis and treatment. While valuable, this strategy does not capture the full complexity of tumor diagnosis and management. Recently, the integration of biomechanics and mechanobiology with oncology has highlighted the importance of mechanical cues, which have emerged as new hallmarks of tumors, opening potential novel routes for cancer diagnosis and therapeutic interventions. Despite the advances, a thorough literature review suggests a pronounced gap in our understanding of the mechanical properties of tumors. The clinical community has not yet completely recognized the diagnostic and therapeutic relevance of the mechanical cues of tumors. To bridge this knowledge gap, we propose and introduce the paradigm of "Tumor Mechanomedicine". We provide a comprehensive overview of the multi-scale mechanical characteristics of tumors, exploring their influence on tumor biology, from the aspects of tumor biomechanics, tumor mechanobiology, tumor mechanodiagnostics, and tumor mechanotherapeutics. By elucidating the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of these mechanical cues, we aim to furnish the oncology community with fresh insights, paving the way for innovative solutions to persistent clinical conundrums.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Shrimp cultured in a biofloc system (BFS) have a lower disease incidence than those farmed in a water exchange system (WES). Although a number of studies have reported that the gut bacterial community induced by BFS is highly associated with shrimp disease resistance, the causal relationship remains unknown. Here, the promotive roles of gut bacterial community induced by BFS in pathogenic Vibrio infection resistance and its potential micro-ecological and physiological mechanisms were investigated by gut bacterial consortium transplantation and synthetic community (SynCom) construction. RESULTS The BFS induced a more stable and resistant gut bacterial community, and significantly enriched some beneficial bacterial taxa, such as Paracoccus, Ruegeria, Microbacterium, Demequina, and Tenacibaculum. Transplantation of a gut bacterial consortium from BFS shrimp (EnrichBFS) greatly enhanced the stability of the bacterial community and resistance against pathogenic V. parahaemolyticus infection in WES shrimp, while transplantation of a gut bacterial consortium from WES shrimp significantly disrupted the bacterial community and increased pathogen susceptibility in both WES and BFS shrimp. The addition of EnrichBFS in shrimp postlarvae also improved the pathogen resistance through increasing the relative abundances of beneficial bacterial taxa and stability of bacterial community. The corresponding strains of five beneficial bacterial taxa enriched in BFS shrimp were isolated to construct a SynComBFS. The addition of SynComBFS could not only suppress disease development, but also improve shrimp growth, boost the digestive and immune activities, and restore health in diseased shrimp. Furthermore, the strains of SynComBFS well colonized shrimp gut to maintain a high stability of bacterial community. CONCLUSIONS Our study reveals an important role for native microbiota in protecting shrimp from bacterial pathogens and provides a micro-ecological regulation strategy towards the development of probiotics to ameliorate aquatic animal diseases. Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effect and prognosis of infant kidney transplantation. Methods: Clinical data of 37 cases of infant kidney transplantation under 3 years old in Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from June 1, 2017 to July 31, 2022 were retrospectively collected. These 37 cases included 31 primary kidney transplantation and 6 secondary kidney transplantation. Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw the survival curve of the transplanted kidney and the recipient, and the prognosis and complications were analyzed. Median follow-up was 18 months (range: 6-66 months). Results: The recipients were 20 males and 17 females, with a median age of 16 months (range: 2 months, 26 days to 36 months) and a median weight of 8 kg (range: 3.2 to 14.0 kg). The youngest child was only 2 months, 26 days old, and weighed only 3.2 kg. The most common primary disease of recipients was congenital nephrotic syndrome (13 cases, 41.9%). Intra-abdominal transplantation occurred in 19 cases (51.3%) and intra-iliac fossa transplantation occurred in the remaining 18 cases (48.6%). Postoperative renal function recovery was delayed in 7 cases (18.9%), and thrombosis caused renal function loss in 5 cases (13.5%), of which 4 cases received second renal transplantation and were successful. During the follow-up period, there were 11 cases of acute rejection (29.7%) and 6 cases of CMV pneumonia (16.2%). The estimated glomerular filtration rate 1 year after transplantation was higher than that 1 month after surgery [(101.9±22.1) vs (71.1±25.6) ml/(min·1.73m2), P<0.001], and remained constant 2 years after transplantation. Both the 1-year and 2-year survival rates of the transplanted kidney were 85.3%, and both the 1-year and 2-year survival rates of the recipients were 96.8%. Conclusion: Although the implementation of infant kidney transplantation is difficult, it can still achieve relatively satisfactory efficacy and prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a frequently observed comorbidity in autoimmune diseases such as dermatomyositis/polymyositis (DM/PM), and it is significantly associated with specific autoantibody types. One unique antibody type is the anti-transcription intermediate factor-1γ antibody (anti-TIF-1γ Ab), which has a positive rate of only 7%. It is often found in combination with malignancy and rarely with ILD, particularly rapidly progressive ILD (RPILD). In some cases, the presence of ILD in individuals with DM may indicate a paraneoplastic syndrome. Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PJP) typically occurs due to intensive immunosuppressive therapy, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, or malignancy, and rarely as an isolated condition. CASE PRESENTATION A 52-year-old man with a history of rapid weight loss but non-HIV infected and not immunosuppressed who presented with fever, cough, dyspnea, weakness of the extremities, characteristic rash and mechanic's hand. Pathogenic tests suggested PJP, laboratory tests suggested a single anti-TIF-1γ Ab positive DM, imaging suggested ILD, and pathology revealed no malignancy. RPILD and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) developed after anti-infection and steroid hormone therapy. After mechanical support therapy such as Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), the patient developed late-onset cytomegalovirus pneumonia (CMVP), complicated bacterial infection, and ultimately death. Additionally, we discuss the potential causes of rapid weight loss, the mechanisms by which anti-TIF-1γ Ab may lead to ILD, and the possible connection between anti-TIF-1γ Ab positivity, rapid weight loss, immune abnormalities, and opportunistic infections. CONCLUSIONS This case emphasizes the importance of early recognition of malignant tumors and pulmonary lesions, assessment of the body's immune status, prompt initiation of immunosuppressive treatment, and prevention of opportunistic infections in individuals with single anti-TIF-1γ Ab positive DM presenting with rapid weight loss.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Anaemia during pregnancy is a significant public health problem that adversely impacts both the mother and foetus. However, the factors influencing maternal anaemia in deprived areas of Northwestern China have not yet been thoroughly investigated. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and potential influencing factors of anaemia among expectant mothers in rural areas of Northwestern China. STUDY DESIGN This was a cross-sectional survey. METHODS A cross-sectional survey of 586 expectant mothers was conducted to investigate the prevalence of anaemia, prenatal healthcare coverage, dietary diversity and nutrient supplementation intake. The study population was selected from the sample areas using a random sampling method. Data were collected through a questionnaire, and haemoglobin concentrations were measured by a capillary blood test. RESULTS The results show that 34.8% of the study population were anaemic, with 13% having moderate-to-severe anaemia. The results of the regression analysis showed that diet was not significantly associated with haemoglobin concentrations or the prevalence of anaemia. However, regular prenatal healthcare attendance was found to be an important influencing factor for both haemoglobin concentration (β = 3.67, P = 0.002) and the prevalence of anaemia (odds ratio = 0.59, P = 0.011). CONCLUSIONS Pregnant women receiving regular prenatal care were less likely to be anaemic; thus, it is essential to implement strategies to improve attendance at maternal public health services to reduce the prevalence of maternal anaemia.

Abstract
Alanyl-transfer RNA synthetase 2 (AARS2) is a nuclear encoded mitochondrial tRNA synthetase that is responsible for charging of tRNA-Ala with alanine during mitochondrial translation. Homozygous or compound heterozygous mutations in the Aars2 gene, including those affecting its splicing, are linked to infantile cardiomyopathy in humans. However, how Aars2 regulates heart development, and the underlying molecular mechanism of heart disease remains unknown. Here, we found that poly(rC) binding protein 1 (PCBP1) interacts with the Aars2 transcript to mediate its alternative splicing and is critical for the expression and function of Aars2. Cardiomyocyte-specific deletion of Pcbp1 in mice resulted in defects in heart development that are reminiscent of human congenital cardiac defects, including noncompaction cardiomyopathy and a disruption of the cardiomyocyte maturation trajectory. Loss of Pcbp1 led to an aberrant alternative splicing and a premature termination of Aars2 in cardiomyocytes. Additionally, Aars2 mutant mice with exon-16 skipping recapitulated heart developmental defects observed in Pcbp1 mutant mice. Mechanistically, we found dysregulated gene and protein expression of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway in both Pcbp1 and Aars2 mutant hearts; these date provide further evidence that the infantile hypertrophic cardiomyopathy associated with the disorder oxidative phosphorylation defect type 8 (COXPD8) is mediated by Aars2. Our study therefore identifies Pcbp1 and Aars2 as critical regulators of heart development and provides important molecular insights into the role of disruptions in metabolism on congenital heart defects.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the percentage of in-use electronic sphygmomanometers independently validated clinically in China. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey and Beijing, Shenzhen, Shijiazhuang, Datong, and Shihezi were selected according to the geographical location and economic level. In each site, one tertiary hospital, two community health centers, and 20 families with electronic sphygmomanometers in use were chosen. The information of electronic sphygmomanometers including brand, model, manufacturer and production date were obtained by the trained staff. Ten electronic sphygmomanometers from each hospital, five electronic sphygmomanometers from each community health center, and one electronic sphygmomanometer from each family were surveyed, and the user's subjective judgment results and judgment basis on the accuracy of the electronic sphygmomanometer measurement were collected. We searched six registration websites (Medaval, Stride BP, dabl Educational Trust, British and Irish Hypertension Society, American Medical Association and Hypertension Canada) and two research databases (PubMed and CNKI) for the clinical validation status of each electronic sphygmomanometer. Results: A total of 200 electronic sphygmomanometers were investigated in this study, of which only 29.0% (58/200) passed independent clinical validation. When stratified by users, the percentage of being clinical validated was 46.0% (23/50) for electronic sphygmomanometers in hospitals, 42.0% (21/50) for those in community health centers and 14.0% (14/100) for those in home use, respectively, and the proportions between the three groups were significantly difference (P<0.001). Doctors in tertiary hospitals and community health service centers judged the accuracy of electronic sphygmomanometers mainly on the basis of "regular correction" (41.0% (41/100)) and "comparison with other electronic sphygmomanometers" (20.0% (20/100)), while among home users, 41.0% (41/100) were not clear about the accuracy of electronic sphygmomanometers, and 40.0% (40/100) made the judgment by "comparison with the devices in hospitals". Conclusion: The clinical validation of in-use electronic sphygmomanometers in China is low. Most of users, including healthcare professionals, are not aware of clinical validation of electronic sphygmomanometers.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the genetic characteristics of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) in people aged 20 years and under in Yichang City of Hubei Province from 2019 to 2020. Methods: Based on the Yichang Health Big Data Platform, we investigated cases 20 and under clinically diagnosed as herpes zoster in three hospitals from March 2019 to September 2020. Collecting vesicle fluid and throat swab samples of the cases and completing questionnaires to obtain basic information. Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used for positive identification of the virus. PCR amplification of VZV's open reading frame (ORF) and sequencing of the products to determine the VZV genotype. Analyze mutations at some specific single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) sites. Results: Among 46 cases of herpes zoster, the male to female ratio was 1.3∶1 (26∶20) and the age ranged from 7 to 20 years old. Fifteen cases had been vaccinated against varicella, including 13 and 2 cases of 1 and 2 doses, respectively. VZV strains were detected in 34 samples (73.91%), all belonging to Clade 2. Phylogenetic tree analysis of the nucleotide of ORF22 showed, compared with Clade 2 referenced strains, the sequence matching degree of nucleotide for all 34 samples was 99.0% to 100.0%. Conclusion: The main VZV strain causing herpes zoster in people aged 20 years and under in Yichang from 2019 to 2020 was Clade 2.

Abstract
Background Appropriate management of esophageal food bolus impactions includes endoscopic evaluation and follow-up for potential underlying esophageal pathology. Patients who present with impactions at night may not receive optimal long-term post-endoscopy care due to patient-, physician-, or system-related factors. Purpose We aimed to evaluate the appropriateness of care for patients who present with food bolus impactions after regular daytime hours. Method We conducted a retrospective, population-based, multi-center cohort study of adult patients undergoing endoscopy for food impaction between 19:00-06:59 from 2016-2018 in the Calgary Health Zone, Canada. Appropriate post-endoscopy care was defined by a composite of a follow-up clinic visit, repeat endoscopy, other appropriate investigations (e.g., manometry), or appropriate medical treatment (e.g., proton pump inhibitor). Predictors of inappropriate care were assessed using multivariable logistic regression, expressed as adjusted odds ratios (aOR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Result(s) A total of 323 patients underwent an after-hours or overnight endoscopy for food bolus impaction. 25.4% (82/323) of patients did not receive appropriate post-endoscopy care. Predictors of inappropriate care included rural residence (aOR 2.66 [95% CI: 1.18-6.01], p=0.02), first food bolus presentation (aOR 2.38 [95% CI: 1.04-5.44], p=0.04), and absence of a specific pathology during the index procedure (aOR 3.01 [95% CI: 0.97-9.29], p=0.05), suggesting a potential association with clinician cognitive bias. Conclusion(s) One quarter of patients presenting with a food bolus impaction at night do not receive appropriate post-endoscopy care. Abstract
Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have emerged as promising materials for energy storage applications exhibiting enhanced electrochemical performance. While most of the reported organic cathode materials for zinc-ion batteries use carbonyl groups as electrochemically-active sites, their high hydrophilicity in aqueous electrolytes represents a critical drawback. Herein, we report a novel and structurally robust olefin-linked COF-TMT-BT synthesized via the aldol condensation between 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine (TMT) and 4,4'-(benzothiadiazole-4,7-diyl)dibenzaldehyde (BT), where benzothiadiazole units are explored as novel electrochemically-active groups. Our COF-TMT-BT exhibits an outstanding Zn2+ storage capability, delivering a state-of-the-art capacity of 283.5 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 . Computational and experimental analyses reveal that the charge-storage mechanism in COF-TMT-BT electrodes is based on the supramolecularly engineered and reversible Zn2+ coordination by the benzothiadiazole units.

Abstract
Multistage amorphous materials have promising applications in the catalytic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Herein, an amorphous sheet-raspberry sandwich-like ZnCo2S4@MnCo2S4/CP composite material was rationally designed and developed as a counter electrode (CE) for DSSCs by applying a three-step hydrothermal method. The first development of the amorphous composites as CEs resulted in lower charge transfer resistance at the CE/electrolyte interface and improved the fill factor and short-circuit current density. The excellent catalytic performance is mainly attributed to the large number of unsaturated coordination sites generated by the undirected structure of the lamellar-raspberry intercalated amorphous material, the smooth ion transport interface with a self-built corrosion-resistant layer, coupled with the dual catalytic performance of the Zn, Co, and Mn composites, and the good electrical conductivity of the C substrate. When ZnCo2S4@MnCo2S4/CP was used as the CE on a Ti substrate, the photoelectric conversion efficiency was as high as 11.68% (Voc = 0.821, Jsc = 20.14 mA cm-2, and FF = 0.71) under 100 mW cm-2 light illumination. This paper provides a design idea for amorphous materials in terms of catalytic performance and a method for developing alternatives to Pt electrodes.

Abstract
AIM To investigate the predictive value of 68Ga-labelled prostate-specific membrane antigen-11 (68Ga-PSMA-11) integrated positron-emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in PBRM1-deficient clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 41 patients with ccRCC, were enrolled retrospectively and underwent 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT preoperatively. Radiological parameters, including CT attenuation value and maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax), were derived. Immunohistochemical and multiple immunofluorescences staining were performed to evaluate the PBRM1 status and immune response. The predictive value of imaging factors was analysed using a receiver operator characteristic curve analysis. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to investigate the relationship between clinical and radiological variables and PBRM1 status. RESULTS A total of 41 patients were included in this study, with 14 patients having PBRM1-deficient status. The tumour diameter on imaging and SUVmax differed significantly in patients with different PBRM1 expression statuses and no difference in CT attenuation was identified. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed SUVmax was an obvious predictor for identification of PBRM1-deficient tumours. In addition, PBRM1-deficient tumours tended to be accompanied by greater cytotoxic T-cell infiltration, although most of them were in an exhausted state. CONCLUSIONS 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT could be used to discriminate invasive PBRM1-deficient ccRCC.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the application value of 3D Slicer software assisted domestic frameless stereotactic robot in biopsy of intracranial lesions. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 80 patients who admitted consecutively and underwent intracerebral lesions biopsy with the domestic frameless stereotactic robot at Department of Neurosurgery, Aerospace Central Hospital from January 2019 to December 2021. There were 36 males and 44 females, with a mean age of (38.5±18.0) years (range: 6 to 71 years). Before surgery only enhanced T1-weighted three-dimensional magnetization prepared gradient echo sequences and diffusion tensor imaging scans were performed. Self-reconstruction of intracranial lesions, cerebral cortex and blood vessels was carried out using 3D Slicer software system after the DICOM format imaging data of 80 patients were collected. These imaging data were merged to the workstation of the domestic frameless stereotactic robot for preoperative surgical planning and the surgical puncture path was designed to avoid blood vessels in the brain functional area, cerebral cortex and sulcus. Results: All frameless stereotactic biopsy were successfully performed. Postoperative pathological diagnosis included 50 cases of diffuse astrocytic and oligodendroglioma, 15 cases of lymphoma, 5 cases of metastatic tumors, 5 cases of inflammatory demyelinating disease, 2 cases of inflammatory granuloma, 1 case of hemangioma, 1 case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia intracranial invasion and 1 case of seminoma. The positive diagnosis rate was 100% (80/80). Postoperative imaging confirmed that the puncture path and target were accurately implemented according to the preoperative planning, and the target error was (1.32±0.44) mm (range: 0.55 to 1.99 mm). One case of puncture-related bleeding occurred at the target after surgery and improved after treatment. Conclusion: The three-dimensional multimodal images reconstructed by the 3D Slicer software before operation could help the surgeons make the preoperative planning and reduce the risk of stereotactic brain biopsy.

Abstract
The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes signal transduction pathway is critical in innate immunity, infection, and inflammation. In response to pathogenic microbial infections and other conditions, cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) recognizes abnormal DNA and initiates a downstream type I interferon response. This paper reviews the pathogenic mechanisms of stimulator of interferon genes (STING) in different organs, including changes in fibrosis-related biomarkers, intending to systematically investigate the effect of the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes signal transduction in inflammation and fibrosis processes. The effects of stimulator of interferon genes in related auto-inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases are described in this article, in addition to the application of stimulator of interferon genes-related drugs in treating fibrosis.

Abstract
Chenopodium album L. is a troublesome annual species in various cropping systems, and a sound knowledge of the ecological response of C. album germination to environmental factors would suggest suitable management strategies for inhibiting its spread. Preliminary laboratory-based research was conducted to investigate germination and emergence requirements of C. album under various environmental conditions (e.g., photoperiods, constant temperature, salinity, moisture, soil pH, burial depth, and oat crop residue). Results showed C. album seeds were found to be photoblastic, with only 13% germination in darkness. The maximum germination (94%) of C. album occurred at an optimal temperature of 25°C, and the depressive effect of other temperatures on germination was more severe at lower rather than higher temperatures. Seed germination was suitably tolerant of salinity and osmotic potential, with germination observed at 200 mM NaCl (37.0%) and -0.8 MPa (20%), respectively. Germination was relatively uniform (88–92%) at pH levels ranging from 4 to 10. The maximum germination of C. album was observed on the soil surface, with no or rare emergence of seeds at a burial depth of 2 cm or under 7000 kg ha-1 oat straw cover, respectively. Information provided by this study will help to develop more sustainable and effective integrated weed management strategies for the control of C. album, including (i) a shallow-tillage procedures to bury weed seeds in conventional-tillage systems and (ii) oat residue retention or coverage on the soil surface in no-tillage systems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In addition to diet and metabolism, the occurrence of foam cells and atherosclerosis are also related to environmental factors. Individual studies have shown that ultraviolet B (UVB) can regulate the progression of atherosclerosis, but with different results. Whether or not UVB has a dual effect on atherosclerosis and what mechanism is involved has not been reported. METHODS After THP-1-derived foam cells were treated with UVB in different ways, the effects of UVB on foam cells were investigated by western blotting, cholesterol efflux experiment, oil red O staining and other methods. RESULTS UVB plays a dual role on foam cell formation, and this effect is related to cholesterol efflux. UVB of 50 mJ/cm2 can promote cholesterol efflux in foam cells, while UVB of 200 mJ/cm2 can inhibit cholesterol efflux. UVB induces cholesterol efflux from foam cells in an autophagy-dependent manner, as the beneficial effect of UVB at 50 mJ/cm2 can be reversed by the autophagy inhibitor 3-Methyladenine (3-MA). In addition, silencing the expression of ultraviolet radiation resistance-associated gene (UVRAG) can inhibit autophagy and reduce cholesterol efflux, and overexpressing UVRAG yields the opposite result. CONCLUSION In conclusion, our research proves that UVB exhibits a dual role in foam cell formation by regulating cholesterol efflux. Further more, we also reveal that UVRAG-mediated autophagy is the underlying mechanism of UVB-induced cholesterol efflux.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In our previous cadaveric study, we highlighted the posterior auricular artery (PAA) as a potential landmark for early identification of facial nerve (FN) when performing parotidectomy. However, further clinical study is critically needed before this landmark could be applied in clinical practice. METHODS For 31 patients enrolled, we tried to identify the FN by the guide of the PAA during parotidectomy. Additionally, the FN function was evaluated during follow-up. RESULTS PAA could be exposed in 28 out of 31 (90.3%) patients during parotidectomy. Moreover, the FN trunk could be identified by the guide of the PAA in all these 28 patients with identifiable PAA. Furthermore, no iatrogenic FN damage happened in this study and the transient FN dysfunction rate was 5.7%. CONCLUSION The PAA is an ideal landmark for early identification of the FN trunk when performing parotidectomy.

Abstract
Microbial destabilization induced by pathogen infection has severely affected plant quality and output, such as Anoectochilus roxburghii, an economically important herb. Soft rot is the main disease that occurs during A. roxburghii culturing. However, the key members of pathogens and their interplay with non-detrimental microorganisms in diseased plants remain largely unsolved. Here, by utilizing a molecular ecological network approach, the interactions within bacterial communities in endophytic compartments and the surrounding soils during soft rot infection were investigated. Significant differences in bacterial diversity and community composition between healthy and diseased plants were observed, indicating that the endophytic communities were strongly influenced by pathogen invasion. Endophytic stem communities of the diseased plants were primarily derived from roots and the root endophytes were largely derived from rhizosphere soils, which depicts a possible pathogen migration image from soils to roots and finally the stems. Furthermore, interactions among microbial members indicated that pathogen invasion might be aided by positively correlated native microbial members, such as Enterobacter and Microbacterium, who may assist in colonization and multiplication through a mutualistic relationship in roots during the pathogen infection process. Our findings will help open new avenues for developing more accurate strategies for biological control of A. roxburghii bacterial soft rot disease.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between peripheral blood mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn) and incident risk of liver cancer. Methods: At the baseline of Dongfeng-Tongji (DFTJ) cohort, 27 009 retirees were recruited from Dongfeng Motor Corporation in 2008. After excluding people without baseline DNA, with current malignant tumor and loss of follow-up, 1 173 participants were randomly selected into a sub-cohort by age-and gender-stratified sampling method at a proportion of 5% among all retirees. A total of 154 incident liver cancer cases identified from the cohort before December 31, 2018 (4 cases had been selected into the sub-cohort) were selected to form the case cohort of liver cancer. For the above 1 323 participants, their baseline levels of mtDNAcn in peripheral blood cells were measured by using quantitative real-time PCR method. The restricted cubic spline analysis was used to fit the shape of the association between baseline mtDNAcn and incident risk of liver cancer. The weighted Cox proportional hazards model was used to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95%CI. Results: In this case-cohort study, the median follow-up time was 10.3 years. The restricted cubic spline analysis indicated that the relationship between peripheral blood mtDNAcn and incident risk of liver cancer followed a U-shaped pattern (Pnon-linear<0.05). All case-cohort population were divided into four subgroups by sex-specific quartiles of mtDNAcn levels among sub-cohort participants, when compared to participants in the Q2 subgroup of mtDNAcn, those in the Q1 subgroup (HR=2.00,95%CI:1.08-3.70) and Q4 subgroup (HR=4.11,95%CI:2.32-7.26) both had a significantly elevated risk of liver cancer, while those in the Q3 subgroup (HR=1.05,95%CI:0.54-2.05) had not. There were no significant multiply interaction effects of aging, gender, tobacco smoking, alcohol drinking and history of chronic hepatitis on the above association (Pinteraction>0.05). Conclusion: Both extremely low and high baseline level of mtDNAcn in peripheral blood cells are associated with an increased risk of incident liver cancer, but the underlying mechanisms need to be further clarified.
