Abstract
Intra-neuronal accumulation of hyper-phosphorylated tau as neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) is a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD). To prevent the aggregation of phosphorylated tau in neurons, decreasing the phosphorylated tau protein levels is important. Here, we examined the biological effects of rottlerin, a phytochemical compound extracted from the Kamala tree, Mallotus philippinensis, on phosphorylated tau levels. Notably, rottlerin decreased the levels of intracellular phosphorylated and total tau. A marked increase in the LC3-II, a hallmark of autophagy, was observed in these cells, indicating that rottlerin strongly induced autophagy. Interestingly, rottlerin induced the phosphorylation of Raptor at S792 through the activation of adenosine-monophosphate activated-protein kinase (AMPK), which likely inhibits the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1), thus resulting in the activation of transcription factor EB (TFEB), a master regulator of autophagy. In addition, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) activity increased in the presence of rottlerin. The decrease of phosphorylated tau levels in the presence of rottlerin was ameliorated by the knockdown of TFEB and partially attenuated by the knockout of the Nrf2 gene. Taken together, rottlerin likely enhances the degradation of phosphorylated tau through autophagy activated by TFEB and Nrf2. Thus, our results suggest that a natural compound rottlerin could be used as a preventive and therapeutic drug for AD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Adenomyosis is associated with female infertility worldwide. With improvements in imaging methods, such as pelvic magnetic resonance imaging, the diagnosis and treatment of adenomyosis have changed. This study aimed to evaluate the overall prevalence, incidence, and treatment trends of adenomyosis in South Korea using data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service Database (NHIS). METHODS Data were collected from the Korean NHIS, a population-based complete enumeration database. A total of 678 641 women aged 11-55 years diagnosed with adenomyosis (N80.0 ICD-10 code) from the database from 2002 to 2016 were enrolled. After applying a one-year look-back method, 629 592 patients were analyzed to estimate the prevalence, incidence, and treatment trends of adenomyosis. RESULTS The overall prevalence during the study period was 3.86 per 1000 people. The prevalence of adenomyosis has increased from 1.42 per 1000 individuals in 2002 to 7.50 per 1000 individuals in 2016. The crude annual incidence rate of adenomyosis was 1.62 per 1000 people in 2003, which increased to 4.12 per 1000 people in 2016. In addition, the proportion of uterus-preserving surgeries in adenomyosis treatments has increased from 7.51% to 21.29% over 15 years. CONCLUSION The prevalence and incidence of adenomyosis in South Korea increased between 2002 and 2016. Furthermore, the proportion of uterus-preserving surgeries and progestin prescriptions for adenomyosis treatment has increased. We expect that our findings will raise awareness of the necessity for fertility preservation through earlier diagnosis and proper management of patients with adenomyosis.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Liver transplantation (LT) is a complex and demanding procedure associated with significant perioperative challenges and risks. Concerns have arisen regarding LT outcomes in low-volume centers. We implemented an integrated training and surgical team network to address these concerns within the Catholic Medical Center (CMC) network. This study presents a comprehensive review of our 9-year LT experience within the CMC medical network. METHOD A retrospective study of LT procedures conducted between January 2013 and August 2021 in 6 CMC-affiliated hospitals was performed. One center was categorized as a high-volume center, conducting over 60 cases annually, and the remaining 5 were considered small-volume centers. The primary endpoints assessed were 1-year and 5-year survival rates. RESULTS A total of 793 LTs were performed during the study period. The high-volume center performed 411 living donor LT (LDLT) cases and 127 deceased donor LT (DDLT) cases. Also, 146 LDLT cases and 109 DDLT cases were performed in 5 small-volume centers. One-year and 5-year patient survival for LDLT recipients was 88.3% and 78.8% in the high-volume center and 85.6% and 80.6% in the low-volume center. Five-year survival was not significantly different in small-volume centers (P = .903). For DDLT recipients, 1-year and 5-year patient survival was 80.3% and 70.6% in the high-volume center and 76.1% and 67.6% in the low-volume center. In DDLT cases, 5-year survival was not significantly different in small-volume centers (P = .445). CONCLUSION In conclusion, comparable outcomes for liver transplantation can be obtained in a small-volume center with a high level of integrated training systems and networks.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The glymphatic system is a glial-based perivascular network that promotes brain metabolic waste clearance. Glymphatic system dysfunction has been observed in both multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), indicating the role of neuroinflammation in the glymphatic system. However, little is known about how the two diseases differently affect the human glymphatic system. The present study aims to evaluate the diffusion MRI-based measures of the glymphatic system by contrasting MS and NMOSD. METHODS This prospective study included 63 patients with NMOSD (n = 21) and MS (n = 42) who underwent DTI. The fractional volume of extracellular-free water (FW) and an index of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) were used as indirect indicators of water diffusivity in the interstitial extracellular and perivenous spaces of white matter, respectively. Age and EDSS scores were adjusted. RESULTS Using Bayesian hypothesis testing, we show that the present data substantially favor the null model of no differences between MS and NMOSD for the diffusion MRI-based measures of the glymphatic system. The inclusion Bayes factor (BF10) of model-averaged probabilities of the group (MS, NMOSD) was 0.280 for FW and 0.236 for the ALPS index. CONCLUSION Together, these findings suggest that glymphatic alteration associated with MS and NMOSD might be similar and common as an eventual result, albeit the disease etiologies differ. PRACTITIONER POINTS Previous literature indicates important glymphatic system alteration in MS and NMOSD. We explore the difference between MS and NMOSD using diffusion MRI-based measures of the glymphatic system. We show support for the null hypothesis of no difference between MS and NMOSD. This suggests that glymphatic alteration associated with MS and NMOSD might be similar and common etiology.

Abstract
Parkinson's disease is a degenerative brain disorder characterized by dopamine neuronal degeneration and dopamine transporter loss. In this study, we generated an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line, KNIHi001-A, from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of a 76-year-old man with Parkinson's disease. The non-integrating Sendai virus was used to reprogram iPSCs. iPSCs exhibit pluripotent markers, a normal karyotype, viral clearance, and the ability to differentiate into the three germ layers.

Abstract
PURPOSE To predict hematoma growth in intracerebral hemorrhage patients by combining clinical findings with non-contrast CT imaging features analyzed through deep learning. METHODS Three models were developed to predict hematoma expansion (HE) in 572 patients. We utilized multi-task learning for both hematoma segmentation and prediction of expansion: the Image-to-HE model processed hematoma slices, extracting features and computing a normalized DL score for HE prediction. The Clinical-to-HE model utilized multivariate logistic regression on clinical variables. The Integrated-to-HE model combined image-derived and clinical data. Significant clinical variables were selected using forward selection in logistic regression. The two models incorporating clinical variables were statistically validated. RESULTS For hematoma detection, the diagnostic performance of the developed multi-task model was excellent (AUC, 0.99). For expansion prediction, three models were evaluated for predicting HE. The Image-to-HE model achieved an accuracy of 67.3%, sensitivity of 81.0%, specificity of 64.0%, and an AUC of 0.76. The Clinical-to-HE model registered an accuracy of 74.8%, sensitivity of 81.0%, specificity of 73.3%, and an AUC of 0.81. The Integrated-to-HE model, merging both image and clinical data, excelled with an accuracy of 81.3%, sensitivity of 76.2%, specificity of 82.6%, and an AUC of 0.83. The Integrated-to-HE model, aligning closest to the diagonal line and indicating the highest level of calibration, showcases superior performance in predicting HE outcomes among the three models. CONCLUSION The integration of clinical findings with non-contrast CT imaging features analyzed through deep learning showed the potential for improving the prediction of HE in acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage patients.

Abstract
The reluctance of parents to vaccinate their children against COVID-19 was prevalent particularly when uncertainty over vaccination outcomes prevailed. We conducted a nationwide randomized online survey experiment to assess the effect of information provision on parental intention for COVID-19 vaccination before the government started vaccination for children in South Korea. Parents of elementary school children were provided with either no information (Control), information on vaccine profile (vaccine informed group; VI), or COVID-19 (disease informed group; DI). Among 359,110 participants, parental intention for vaccination of children was significantly higher in both VI and DI groups compared with the Control group. In terms of effect size, information on COVID-19 vaccine increased likelihood to vaccinate by 1620 per 100,000 parents and reduced vaccine hesitancy by 1340 per 100,000 parents. Consistently with the positive effect on vaccination intention, both VI and DI interventions increased participants' perceptions on vaccination benefits being higher than its risks and vaccination risks being lower than health risks of COVID-19 infection, and self-reported trust in COVID-19 information. Our results lend strong support to the claim that the provision of targeted, tailored information on COVID-19 vaccine and infection increases parental intention to vaccinate children and reduces vaccine hesitancy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To investigate the prognostic value of spatial features from whole-brain MRI using a three-dimensional (3D) convolutional neural network for adult-type diffuse gliomas. METHODS In a retrospective, multicenter study, 1925 diffuse glioma patients were enrolled from 5 datasets: SNUH (n = 708), UPenn (n = 425), UCSF (n = 500), TCGA (n = 160), and Severance (n = 132). The SNUH and Severance datasets served as external test sets. Precontrast and postcontrast 3D T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and T2-FLAIR images were processed as multichannel 3D images. A 3D-adapted SE-ResNeXt model was trained to predict overall survival. The prognostic value of the deep learning-based prognostic index (DPI), a spatial feature-derived quantitative score, and established prognostic markers were evaluated using Cox regression. Model evaluation was performed using the concordance index (C-index) and Brier score. RESULTS The MRI-only median DPI survival prediction model achieved C-indices of 0.709 and 0.677 (BS = 0.142 and 0.215) and survival differences (P < 0.001 and P = 0.002; log-rank test) for the SNUH and Severance datasets, respectively. Multivariate Cox analysis revealed DPI as a significant prognostic factor, independent of clinical and molecular genetic variables: hazard ratio = 0.032 and 0.036 (P < 0.001 and P = 0.004) for the SNUH and Severance datasets, respectively. Multimodal prediction models achieved higher C-indices than models using only clinical and molecular genetic variables: 0.783 vs. 0.774, P = 0.001, SNUH; 0.766 vs. 0.748, P = 0.023, Severance. CONCLUSIONS The global morphologic feature derived from 3D CNN models using whole-brain MRI has independent prognostic value for diffuse gliomas. Combining clinical, molecular genetic, and imaging data yields the best performance.

Abstract
Purpose Liver fibrosis is a critical health issue with limited treatment options. This study investigates the potential of PGC-Sec, a secretome derived from peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α)-overexpressing adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs), as a novel therapeutic strategy for liver fibrosis. Methods Upon achieving a cellular confluence of 70%-80%, ASCs were transfected with pcDNA-PGC-1α. PGC-Sec, obtained through concentration of conditioned media using ultrafiltration units with a 3-kDa cutoff, was assessed through in vitro assays and in vitro mouse models. Results In vitro, PGC-Sec significantly reduced LX2 human hepatic stellate cell proliferation and mitigated mitochondrial oxidative stress compared to the control-secretome. In an in vivo mouse model, PGC-Sec treatment led to notable reductions in hepatic enzyme activity, serum proinflammatory cytokine concentrations, and fibrosis-related marker expression. Histological analysis demonstrated improved liver histology and reduced fibrosis severity in PGC-Sec-treated mice. Immunohistochemical staining confirmed enhanced expression of PGC-1α, optic atrophy 1 (a mitochondrial function marker), and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (an antifibrogenic marker) in the PGC-Sec-treated group, along with reduced collagen type 1A expression (a profibrogenic marker). Conclusion These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of PGC-Sec in combating liver fibrosis by enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and function, and promoting antifibrotic processes. PGC-Sec holds promise as a novel treatment strategy for liver fibrosis.

Abstract
Introduction Exercise can improve both motor and non-motor symptoms in people with Parkinson's disease (PwP), but there is an unmet need of accessible and sustainable exercise options. This study aimed to evaluate the effect, feasibility, and safety of a regularly performed live-streaming tele-exercise intervention for PwP. Methods A live-streaming exercise intervention was implemented twice a week for 12 weeks in PwP. We measured the motor and nonmotor scales in these patients before and after the intervention. Changes in clinical scores from baseline to post-intervention were analyzed using a paired t-test. Factors associated with improvements in clinical scales and compliance were analyzed using Pearson's correlation analysis. Results 56 participants were enrolled in the study. There were significant improvements in HADS-A (p = 0.007), HADS-D (p < 0.001), UPDRS part III (p < 0.001), UPDRS total (p = 0.015), H&Y stage (p = 0.027), and PFS-16 (p = 0.026) scores following intervention. Motor improvements were associated with improvements in mood symptoms and fatigue. Higher motor impairment at baseline was associated with a higher compliance rate and better composite motor and non-motor outcomes (ΔUPDRS total score) post-intervention. Overall, the 12-week tele-exercise program was feasible and safe for PwP. No adverse event was reported. Overall adherence was 60.0% in our cohort, and 83.4% were able to participate in more than half of the exercise routines. Conclusion The live-streaming tele-exercise intervention is a safe, feasible, and effective non-pharmacological treatment option that can alleviate fatigue and improve mood and motor symptoms in PwP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Measurement of sodium intake in hospitalized patients is critical for their care. In this study, artificial intelligence (AI)-based imaging was performed to determine sodium intake in these patients. OBJECTIVE The applicability of a diet management system was evaluated using AI-based imaging to assess the sodium content of diets prescribed for hospitalized patients. METHODS Based on the information on the already investigated nutrients and quantity of food, consumed sodium was analyzed through photographs obtained before and after a meal. We used a hybrid model that first leveraged the capabilities of the You Only Look Once, version 4 (YOLOv4) architecture for the detection of food and dish areas in images. Following this initial detection, 2 distinct approaches were adopted for further classification: a custom ResNet-101 model and a hyperspectral imaging-based technique. These methodologies focused on accurate classification and estimation of the food quantity and sodium amount, respectively. The 24-hour urine sodium (UNa) value was measured as a reference for evaluating the sodium intake. RESULTS Results were analyzed using complete data from 25 participants out of the total 54 enrolled individuals. The median sodium intake calculated by the AI algorithm (AI-Na) was determined to be 2022.7 mg per day/person (adjusted by administered fluids). A significant correlation was observed between AI-Na and 24-hour UNa, while there was a notable disparity between them. A regression analysis, considering patient characteristics (eg, gender, age, renal function, the use of diuretics, and administered fluids) yielded a formula accounting for the interaction between AI-Na and 24-hour UNa. Consequently, it was concluded that AI-Na holds clinical significance in estimating salt intake for hospitalized patients using images without the need for 24-hour UNa measurements. The degree of correlation between AI-Na and 24-hour UNa was found to vary depending on the use of diuretics. CONCLUSIONS This study highlights the potential of AI-based imaging for determining sodium intake in hospitalized patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the accuracy of artificial intelligence-assisted growth prediction using a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm and longitudinal lateral cephalograms (Lat-cephs). MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 198 Japanese preadolescent children, who had skeletal Class I malocclusion and whose Lat-cephs were available at age 8 years (T0) and 10 years (T1), were allocated into the training, validation, and test phases (n = 161, n = 17, n = 20). Orthodontists and the CNN model identified 28 hard-tissue landmarks (HTL) and 19 soft-tissue landmarks (STL). The mean prediction error values were defined as 'excellent,' 'very good,' 'good,' 'acceptable,' and 'unsatisfactory' (criteria: 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2.0 mm, respectively). The degree of accurate prediction percentage (APP) was defined as 'very high,' 'high,' 'medium,' and 'low' (criteria: 90%, 70%, and 50%, respectively) according to the percentage of subjects that showed the error range within 1.5 mm. RESULTS All HTLs showed acceptable-to-excellent mean PE values, while the STLs Pog', Gn', and Me' showed unsatisfactory values, and the rest showed good-to-acceptable values. Regarding the degree of APP, HTLs Ba, ramus posterior, Pm, Pog, B-point, Me, and mandibular first molar root apex exhibited low APPs. The STLs labrale superius, lower embrasure, lower lip, point of lower profile, B', Pog,' Gn' and Me' also exhibited low APPs. The remainder of HTLs and STLs showed medium-to-very high APPs. CONCLUSION Despite the possibility of using the CNN model to predict growth, further studies are needed to improve the prediction accuracy in HTLs and STLs of the chin area.

Abstract
Introduction Ipsilateral left-sided-approach laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal herniorrhaphy (LA-TAPP) is a procedure used for inguinal hernia. However, conventional laparoscopic instruments may limit the operator's ability to approach certain areas during the procedure. This study aims to assess the feasibility of using an articulating bipolar grasper (ArtiSential®). Material and methods Between January 2017 and May 2022, 184 patients with inguinal hernia underwent LA-TAPP and were divided into an articulating group (AG) and a conventional group (CG). The two groups were compared for clinical characteristics, surgical outcomes, and recurrence rates. Learning curve analysis was also performed using the CUSUM score. Results The AG and CG included 72 and 112 patients, respectively. Both groups had similar age, sex, BMI, hernia location, and hernia type. The AG had a significantly shorter operation time (59.2 ± 29.4 vs. 77.8 ± 22.4 min, p < 0.001) than the CG. The duration of hospitalization was slightly shorter in the AG (2.2 ± 0.5 vs. 2.5 ± 1.4 days, p = 0.056). Postoperative complications were lower in the AG (5.6%) than in the CG (9.8%). Scrotal neuralgic pain was observed in 1.4% of patients in the AG and 3.6% of patients in the CG. Learning curve analysis revealed that 24 cases were needed to overcome the learning curve for using an articulating device. Conclusion IP-TAPP with an articulating instrument is a safe and efficient procedure. The operation time can be reduced by improving the surgeon's procedural autonomy and reducing collisions between the instruments and the patient's ribs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES In Korea, diabetes mellitus has a high disease burden, based on disability-adjusted life years. However, the disease burden is disproportionately distributed, with people with disabilities (PWD) experiencing higher rates of health disparities. Our study investigated long-term trends in diabetes prevalence and risk according to disability status, grade, and type. STUDY DESIGN Retrospective cohort study. METHODS Approximately 10 million individuals aged ≥30 years were included yearly from the National Health Information Database (NHID) and national disability registration data in Korea between 2008 and 2017, corresponding to 40 % of those aged ≥30 years in Korea. In 2017, 12, 975, 757 individuals were included; 5.5 % had disabilities. We estimated annual diabetes age-standardized prevalence and used multiple logistic regression analyses to estimate the odds of having diabetes in 2017, according to disability status, severity, and type. RESULTS Diabetes age-standardized prevalence consistently increased over 2008-2017 in PWD and people without disabilities. However, the prevalence increased more rapidly and was higher in all years among PWD, with widening disparities based on disability status. Additionally, diabetes prevalence was high in all years for specific subgroups, including women, individuals with intellectual or mental disabilities or autism, and individuals with severe disabilities, suggesting further disparities among PWD. CONCLUSIONS Our findings reveal health disparities between those with and without disabilities and among PWD subgroups. In addition to timely prevention, diabetes screening and management among PWD is vital. Public investment in improving disparities in the root causes of diabetes is essential, including health behaviours, healthcare utilization, and self-care.

Abstract
This cross-sectional study, conducted at a tertiary care hospital's rehabilitation clinic, aimed to validate Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) results obtained through plantar pressure analysis using commercial smart insoles (SPPB-SI) and to compare these results to manually acquired results by an experienced examiner (SPPB-M). This study included 40 independent-walking inpatients and outpatients aged 50 or older. SPPB-SI and SPPB-M were administered concurrently, with the smart insoles providing plantar pressure data that were converted into time-pressure curves. Two interpreters assessed the curves, determining component completion times for the SPPB-SI scores. Among the 40 participants (mean age: 72.98, SD: 9.27), the mean total SPPB-SI score was 7.72 ± 2.50, and the mean total SPPB-M score was 7.95 ± 2.63. The time recordings and measured scores of each SPPB-SI component exhibited high reliability with inter- and intra-interpreter correlation coefficients of 0.9 and 0.8 or higher, respectively. The intraclass correlation coefficient between the total SPPB-SI and SPPB-M scores was 0.831 (p < 0.001), and that between the component scores of the two measurements ranged from 0.837 to 0.901 (p < 0.001). Consistent correlations with geriatric functional parameters were observed for both SPPB-SI and SPPB-M. This study underscores the potential of commercial smart insoles as reliable tools for conducting SPPB assessments.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Bone mineral density (BMD) is measured in the hip and posteroanterior spine; moreover, according to the 2019 International Society for Clinical Densitometry guidelines, unilateral hip can be used. This study aimed to determine whether there is a difference between the BMD of both the femurs in postmenopausal women. METHODS A total of 343 postmenopausal women were enrolled in this study from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2019 at a single tertiary hospital. By using the Hologic® Horizon W DXA System, the femur and spine BMD was measured; BMD was recorded in g/cm². Following regions were analyzed in both the femurs: the femur neck, the trochanter area, and total femur. RESULTS Mean age at imaging was 62 ± 9.7 years, and significant difference in the total BMD of both the femurs (P = 0.003) was observed. In secondary analysis, patients with osteoporosis showed significant contralateral BMD discrepancies in trochanter and total proximal femur BMD (P = 0.041 and P = 0.011, respectively). However, in women with normal BMD, no significant difference between the right and left femur BMD was observed. Furthermore, measurement of solely the unilateral hip can lead to a 16.9% of underdiagnosis in postmenopausal women. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, it is necessary to check BMD in both hips, particularly in patients suspected of osteoporosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Antiplatelet therapy, where regimens are tailored based on platelet function testing, has been introduced into neurointerventional surgery. This nationwide registry study evaluated the effect and safety of tailored antiplatelet therapy in stent assisted coiling for unruptured aneurysms compared with conventional therapy using a standard regimen. METHODS This study enrolled 1686 patients in 44 participating centers who received stent assisted coiling for unruptured aneurysms between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019. The standard regimen (aspirin and clopidogrel) was used for all patients in the conventional group (924, 19 centers). The regimen was selected based on platelet function testing (standard regimen for clopidogrel responders; adding cilostazol or replacing clopidogrel with other thienopyridines (ticlopidine, prasugrel, or ticagrelor) for clopidogrel non-responders) in the tailored group (762, 25 centers). The primary outcome was thromboembolic events. Secondary outcomes were bleeding and poor outcomes (increase in modified Rankin Scale score). Outcomes within 30 days after coiling were compared using logistic regression analysis. RESULTS The thromboembolic event rate was lower in the tailored group than in the conventional group (30/762 (3.9%) vs 63/924 (6.8%), adjusted OR 0.560, 95% CI 0.359 to 0.875, P=0.001). The bleeding event rate was not different between the study groups (62/762 (8.1%) vs 73/924 (7.9%), adjusted OR 0.790, 95% CI 0.469 to 1.331, P=0.376). Poor outcomes were less frequent in the tailored group (12/762 (1.6%) vs 34 (3.7%), adjusted OR 0.252, 95% CI 0.112 to 0.568, P=0.001). CONCLUSION Tailored antiplatelet therapy in stent assisted coiling for unruptured aneurysms reduced thromboembolic events and poor outcomes without increasing bleeding.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Voltammetric analysis of the neurotransmitter epinephrine (EP) was performed using bismuth immobilized on a carbon nanotube paste electrode (BCE), whose properties were compared with those of a carbon nanotube paste electrode (CE). BCE was found to be more efficient in detecting EP. METHODS The analytical parameters used were 0.3 V square-wave (SW) stripping voltammetric amplitude, 400 Hz frequency, -0.8 V initial potential, and 0.015 V increment potential. The optimized conditions were applied to an assay of a carp's front fin. RESULTS A BCE was inserted into a carp's front fin muscle, and a stimulus was given every 50 s. This circuit is easy to use and does not require much analytical preparation time. CONCLUSIONS The working electrode is miniscule, and its detection limit is very low. The in vivo muscle's chronoamperometric nerve currents were analyzed. These results have potential for applications in medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, interface controllers, and other fields.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Gut microbiome is known to be involved in antitumor immunotherapy and chemotherapy responses; however, few research has focused on the role of gut microbiome in the setting of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). In this study, we investigated the tumor microbiome dynamics in patients undergoing neoadjuvant CCRT for locally advanced rectal cancer and sought to determine whether the diversity and composition of microbiome affect treatment response. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 103 samples from 26 patients with locally advanced rectal cancer were collected and 16S ribosomal RNA amplicon sequencing was performed. All patients underwent neoadjuvant CCRT followed by surgical resection between 2008 and 2016. Samples were obtained from both tumor and normal rectal tissue at pre- and post-CCRT. According to the American Joint Committee on Cancer tumor regression grading (TRG) system, patients were divided into responders (TRG 0, 1) and non-responders (TRG 2, 3). We performed diversity, taxonomy, and network analyses to compare responders and non-responders. Then, we established the Bayesian network model to predict treatment response in patients with rectal cancer. RESULTS Overall, we detected 1260 microbial genera from 287 families, 132 orders, 56 classes, and 32 phyla in the bacteria kingdom. Between tumor and normal rectal tissues, there was no difference in microbial diversity and composition. On the other hand, there was a significant decrease in diversity and compositional alterations when comparing pre- and post-CCRT samples (all p<0.001). Ten patients (38.5%) were classified as responders and 16 patients (61.5%) were classified as non-responders. In both groups, CCRT significantly reduced microbial diversity and altered their composition, but it was more pronounced in non-responders. In taxonomic analysis of pre-CCRT samples, butyrate-producing bacteria were differentially enriched in responders. Meanwhile, in post-CCRT samples, opportunistic pathogen were overrepresented in non-responders. The network analysis revealed that butyrate-producing bacteria had strong interactions in responders, whereas opportunistic pathogen demonstrated strong interactions in non-responders (Pearson's coefficient>0.5). Finally, five microbes were selected as the optimal set for the response prediction model, which yielded an area under the curve value of 82.33%. CONCLUSION CCRT significantly changed the diversity and composition of microbiome, especially in non-responders. Several microbes might be related with treatment response. These findings highlight the potential of microbiome to play an important role as a biomarker in patients with rectal cancer. (NCT02533271).

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Retrospective, observational study. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to examine the association between spinopelvic parameters and balance function in low back pain (LBP). METHODS Among patients in the rehabilitation medicine department, the data of 182 patients (mean age, 47.8 years; M/F = 64/118) was obtained retrospectively. Spinopelvic parameters were measured through a whole-body low-dose biplanar radiography using the EOS imaging system, and balance function was evaluated by the center of pressure (COP) movement using the Zebris treadmill system. Pearson correlations were used to determine the relationship between radiographic and balance function. Stepwise multiple linear regression analyses were conducted with the balance function as a dependent variable and age and spinopelvic parameters as independent variables. RESULTS Increased age, knee flexion (KF), pelvic tilt (PT), C7-central sacral line (C7-CSL) and C7 sagittal vertical axis (SVA), and decreased spino-sacral angle (SSA) were associated with both poor static and dynamic balance. Moreover, increased Cobb's angle and decreased thoracic kyphosis (TK) and lumbar lordosis (LL) was associated with poor static balance. Increased pelvic incidence (PI) was related to poor dynamic balance. Increased age, Cobb's angle, SVA, and decreased TK were risk factors for poor static balance. For dynamic balance, increased age, C7-CSL, and PT were risk factors for poor sagittal balance, whereas increased CAM-plumb line and PT were risk factors for poor coronal balance. CONCLUSIONS Balance function was associated with spinopelvic parameters in patients with LBP. Increased SVA, followed by increased PT, was the strongest independent factor associated with poor static and dynamic balance.

Abstract
Organic solid electrolytes compatible with all-solid-state Li metal batteries (LMBs) are essential to ensuring battery safety, high energy density, and long-term cycling performance. However, it remains a challenge to develop an approach to provide organic solid electrolytes with capabilities for the facile dissociation of strong Li-ion pairs and fast transport of ionic components. Herein, a diethylene glycol-modified pyridinium covalent organic framework (DEG-PMCOF) with a well-defined periodic structure is prepared as a multicomponent solid electrolyte with a cationic moiety of high polarity, an additional flexible ion-transporter, and an ordered ionic channel for all-solid-state LMBs. The DEG-containing pyridinium groups of DEG-PMCOF allow a lower dissociation energy of Li salts and a smaller energy barrier of Li-ion transport, leading to high ion conductivity (1.71 × 10-4 S cm-1) and a large Li-ion transfer number (0.61) at room temperature in the solid electrolyte. The DEG-PMCOF solid electrolyte exhibits a wide electrochemical stability window and effectively suppresses the formation of Li dendrites and dead Li in all-solid-state LMBs. Molecular dynamics and density functional theory simulations provide insights into the mechanisms for the enhanced Li-ion transport driven by the integrated diffusion process based on hopping motion, vehicle motion, and free diffusion of DEG-PMCOF. The all-solid-state LMB assembled with a DEG-PMCOF solid electrolyte displays a high specific capacity with a retention of 99% and an outstanding Coulombic efficiency of 99% at various C-rates during long-term cycling. This DEG-PMCOF approach can offer an effective route to design various solid-state Li batteries.

Abstract
Background As the number of individuals suffering from cognitive diseases continues to rise, dealing with the diminished cognitive function that comes with age has become a serious public health concern. While the use of mobile applications (apps) as digital treatments for cognitive training shows promise, the analysis of their content and quality remains unclear. Objective The aim of this study was to systematically search and assess cognitive training apps using the multidimensional mobile app rating scale (MARS) to rate objective quality and identify critical points. Methods A search was conducted on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in February 2022 using the terms "cognitive training" and "cognitive rehabilitation." The cognitive domains provided by each app were analyzed, and the frequency and percentage according to the apps were obtained. The MARS, a mHealth app quality rating tool including multidimensional measures, was used to analyze the quality of the apps. The relationship between the MARS score, the number of reviews, and 5-star ratings were examined. Results Of the 53 apps, 52 (98 %) included memory function, 48 (91 %) included attention function, 24 (45 %) included executive function, and 19 (36 %) included visuospatial function. The mean (SD) scores of MARS, 5-star ratings, and reviews of 53 apps were 3.09 (0.61), 4.33 (0.30), and 62,415.43 (121,578.77). From the between-section comparison, engagement (mean 2.97, SD 0.68) obtained lower scores than functionality (mean 3.18, SD 0.62), aesthetics (mean 3.13, SD 0.72), and information (mean 3.11, SD 0.54). The mean quality score and reviews showed a statistically significant association (r = 0.447 and P = .001*). As the number of domains increased, the mean quality score showed a statistically significant increasing trend (P = .002*). Conclusions Most apps provided training for the memory and attention domains, but few apps included executive function or visuospatial domains. The quality of the apps improved significantly when more domains were provided, and was positively associated with the number of reviews received. These results could be useful for the future development of mobile apps for cognitive training.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Current smoking rates for people with and without disabilities vary among countries. This study analyzed smoking behavior over 9 years in adult South Korean men with disabilities, according to disability severity and type, and in those without disabilities. STUDY DESIGN This was a cross-sectional study. METHODS This analysis was conducted using national disability registration data and national general health checkup data for 2009-2017. Age-standardized smoking behaviors were analyzed for each year according to the presence, severity, and type of disability. The odds of current smoking were determined by multivariate logistic regression after adjusting for sociodemographic and clinical variables. RESULTS The age-standardized smoking rate and average number of cigarettes for men with mild disabilities in the younger age group were 1.16 (43.0 vs 36.8%) and 1.05 (16.1 vs 15.3 cigarettes) times higher than in non-disabled men as of 2017. The highest smoking rate was observed in men with physical disabilities in the younger age. In the older age group, the highest smoking rate was that of men with intellectual or psychological disabilities. CONCLUSION Smoking behaviors remained poorest in men with disabilities, especially those with mild, physical, and intellectual/psychological disabilities. Public health policies should focus on people with disabilities to promote health, prevent secondary conditions, and reduce health disparities by implementing antismoking health policies.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to demonstrate the bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition in postmenopausal women with knee osteoarthritis (OA) who underwent surgical treatment, such as total knee arthroplasty, osteotomy, or meniscectomy. METHODS A total of 254 women with OA aged 50 years who underwent surgical treatment were enrolled in this study. We evaluated obesity-related factors, muscle components, and BMD using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. RESULTS No significant differences were noted in the BMD of the hip joint between the symptomatic side of the leg with knee OA and the contralateral side. However, when comparing the BMD of each component, the results indicated a significantly higher BMD in the obesity group based on body mass index (BMI). When defining sarcopenic obesity (SO) using various indicators of obesity (BMI, the estimated visceral adipose tissue area, android/gynoid ratio, and total body fat percentage), the prevalence of SO in the OA group who underwent surgical treatment ranged from 22.0% to 49.6%. CONCLUSIONS This study investigated obesity-related factors in patients with advanced knee OA who underwent surgery, revealing a high prevalence of overweight/obese individuals, the presence of SO, and a complex relationship between obesity, body composition, and bone density, highlighting the potential protective effects of weight-bearing on bone health while exploring the impact of sarcopenia on bone density differences in the context of OA. Depending on various definitions of obesity, diverse proportions of SO in patients with OA have been observed, and further detailed research is required to understand its impact on the condition.

Abstract
Human studies consistently identify bioenergetic maladaptations in brains upon aging and neurodegenerative disorders of aging (NDAs), such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Glucose is the major brain fuel and glucose hypometabolism has been observed in brain regions vulnerable to aging and NDAs. Many neurodegenerative susceptible regions are in the topological central hub of the brain connectome, linked by densely interconnected long-range axons. Axons, key components of the connectome, have high metabolic needs to support neurotransmission and other essential activities. Long-range axons are particularly vulnerable to injury, neurotoxin exposure, protein stress, lysosomal dysfunction, etc. Axonopathy is often an early sign of neurodegeneration. Recent studies ascribe axonal maintenance failures to local bioenergetic dysregulation. With this review, we aim to stimulate research in exploring metabolically oriented neuroprotection strategies to enhance or normalize bioenergetics in NDA models. Here we start by summarizing evidence from human patients and animal models to reveal the correlation between glucose hypometabolism and connectomic disintegration upon aging/NDAs. To encourage mechanistic investigations on how axonal bioenergetic dysregulation occurs during aging/NDAs, we first review the current literature on axonal bioenergetics in distinct axonal subdomains: axon initial segments, myelinated axonal segments, and axonal arbors harboring pre-synaptic boutons. In each subdomain, we focus on the organization, activity-dependent regulation of the bioenergetic system, and external glial support. Second, we review the mechanisms regulating axonal nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) homeostasis, an essential molecule for energy metabolism processes, including NAD+ biosynthetic, recycling, and consuming pathways. Third, we highlight the innate metabolic vulnerability of the brain connectome and discuss its perturbation during aging and NDAs. As axonal bioenergetic deficits are developing into NDAs, especially in asymptomatic phase, they are likely exaggerated further by impaired NAD+ homeostasis, the high energetic cost of neural network hyperactivity, and glial pathology. Future research in interrogating the causal relationship between metabolic vulnerability, axonopathy, amyloid/tau pathology, and cognitive decline will provide fundamental knowledge for developing therapeutic interventions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To summarize changes in recommendations for injection treatments for knee osteoarthritis (OA) in current clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and to assess whether these changes have affected public interest according to Google data and content in YouTube videos. DESIGN A literature search to identify CPGs revised since 2019 that provide recommendations regarding the five intra-articular injection treatments for knee OA (corticosteroid [CS], hyaluronic acid [HA], stem cell [SC], platelet-rich plasma [PRP], and botulinum toxin [BT]) was conducted to assess perspective changes for each treatment. Data from Google Trends were examined to identify changes in search volume from 2004 to 2021 using a join-point regression model. Relevant YouTube videos were divided into those uploaded before and after changes in CPGs and compared according to degrees of recommendation for each treatment to identify the effect of changes in CPGs on video production. RESULTS All eight identified CPGs released after 2019 recommended HA and CS use. Most CPGs were the first to state a neutral or opposing stance concerning the use of SC, PRP, or BT. Interestingly, relative searches on Google for SC, PRP, and BT has increased greater than those for CS and HA. YouTube videos produced after CPGs changed continue to recommend SC, PRP, and BT as much as those produced before CPGs were revised. CONCLUSIONS Although knee OA CPGs have changed, public interest and healthcare information providers on YouTube have not reacted to this shift. Improved methods to propagate updates to CPGs warrant consideration.

Abstract
Organic solid electrolytes offer an effective route for safe and high-energy-density all-solid-state Li metal batteries. However, it remains a challenge to devise a new strategy to promote the dissociation of strong ion pairs and the transport of ionic components in organic solid electrolytes. Herein, a zwitterionic covalent organic framework (Zwitt-COF) with well-defined chemical and pore structures is prepared as a solid electrolyte capable of accelerating the dissociation and transport of Li ions. The Zwitt-COF solid electrolyte exhibits a high room-temperature ionic conductivity of 1.65 × 10-4 S cm-1 with a wide electrochemical stability window. Besides, the Zwitt-COF solid electrolyte displays stable Li plating/stripping behavior via effective inhibition of the formation of Li dendrites and dead Li, leading to superior long-term cycle performance with retention of 99% discharge capacity and 98% Coulombic efficiency in an all-solid-state Li-metal battery. Theoretical simulations reveal that the incorporation of zwitterionic groups into COF can facilitate the dissociation of strong ion pairs and reconstruct the AA-stacking configuration by dissociative adsorption of Li+ ions on Zwitt-COF producing linear hexagonal ion channels in the Zwitt-COF solid electrolyte. This strategy based on Zwitt-COF can provide an alternative way to construct various solid-state Li batteries.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Epidemiological studies have reported an association between exposures to ambient air pollution and respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Pneumonitis is a critical driving factor of COPD and exposure to air pollutants (e.g., acrolein) is associated with increased incidence of pneumonitis. OBJECTIVES Currently available anti-inflammatory therapies provide little benefit against respiratory diseases. To this end, we investigated the preventive role of curcumin against air pollutant-associated pneumonitis and its underlying mechanism. METHODS A total of 40 subjects was recruited from Chengdu, China which is among the top three cities in terms of respiratory mortality related to air pollution. The participants were randomly provided either placebo or curcumin supplements for 2 weeks and blood samples were collected at the baseline and at the end of the intervention to monitor systemic markers. In our follow up mechanistic study, C57BL/6 mice (n = 40) were randomly allocated into 4 groups: Control group (saline + no acrolein), Curcumin only group (curcumin + no acrolein), Acrolein only group (saline + acrolein), and Acrolein + Curcumin group (curcumin + acrolein). Curcumin was orally administered at 100 mg/kg body weight once a day for 10 days, and then the mice were subjected to nasal instillation of acrolein (5 mg/kg body weight). Twelve hours after single acrolein exposure, all mice were euthanized. RESULTS Curcumin supplementation, with no noticeable adverse responses, reduced circulating pro-inflammatory cytokines in association with clinical pneumonitis as positive predictive while improving those of anti-inflammatory cytokines. In the pre-clinical study, curcumin reduced pneumonitis manifestations by suppression of intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic signaling, which is attributed to enhanced redox sensing of Nrf2 and thus sensitized synthesis and restoration of GSH, at least in part, through curcumin-Keap1 conjugation. CONCLUSIONS Our study collectively suggests that curcumin could provide an effective preventive measure against air pollutant-enhanced pneumonitis and thus COPD.

Abstract
This study was performed to review which mHealth apps that improve brace-wearing compliance are currently available, and to carry out their quality assessments by listing their functionalities. We found ten mHealth apps in the literature review and commercial mHealth apps market (Google Play and App store). Then, the quality of these apps was evaluated by their transparency, health content, excellent technical content, security/privacy, issues of usability, and subjective ratings (THESIS) scale, and the functionalities of the included apps were reviewed. Regarding these functionalities, four categories (data acquisition, compliance enhancement, educational components, and additional functionalities) and twelve subcategories were identified. The mean overall quality of the apps was 3.00 out of 5. Although four of the apps achieved a score of 3.0 or more for their overall quality, indicating an acceptable quality, none of the apps scored higher than 4.0, which indicated a high or excellent quality. According to the sections, the transparency section had the highest rating (3.92) and the security/privacy section received the lowest rating (2.02). Given that the overall quality of current mHealth apps was not high, and their potential to motivate patients with idiopathic scoliosis to adhere to their bracing treatment, it is necessary to develop high-quality apps with appropriate functionalities for supporting brace treatment.

Abstract
PURPOSE Glymphatic system dysfunction has been reported in animal models of traumatic brain injury (TBI). This study aimed to evaluate the activity of the human glymphatic system using the non-invasive Diffusion Tensor Image-Analysis aLong the Perivascular Space (DTI-ALPS) method in patients with TBI. METHODS A total of 89 patients with TBI (June 2018 to May 2020) were retrospectively enrolled, and 34 healthy volunteers were included who had no previous medical or neurological disease. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with DTI was performed, and the ALPS index was calculated to evaluate the glymphatic system's activity. Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used to compare the ALPS index between patients with TBI and healthy controls. ANOVA was done to compare the ALPS index among controls and patients with mild/moderate-to-severe TBI. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify independent clinical and radiological factors associated with the ALPS index. The correlation between Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score and the ALPS index was also assessed. RESULTS The ALPS index was significantly lower in patients with TBI than in healthy controls (median, 1.317 vs. 1.456, P < 0.0001). There were significant differences in the ALPS index between healthy controls and patients with mild/moderate-to-severe TBI (ANOVA, P < 0.001). The presence of subarachnoid hemorrhage (P = 0.004) and diffuse axonal injury (P = 0.001) was correlated with a lower ALPS index in the multivariate analysis. There was a weak positive correlation between the ALPS index and GCS scores (r = 0.242, P = 0.023). CONCLUSIONS The DTI-ALPS method is useful for evaluating glymphatic system impairment and quantifying its activity in patients with TBI.

Abstract
The posture-analyzing and virtual reconstructing device (PAViR) used a Red Green Blue-Depth camera as a sensor and skeleton reconstruction images were produced. This PAViR quickly analyzed the whole posture from multiple repetitive shots without radiation exposure in clothes and provided a virtual skeleton within seconds. This study aims to evaluate the reliability when shooting repeatedly and to assess the validity compared to parameters of full-body, low-dose X-rays (EOSs) when applied as diagnostic imaging. As a prospective and observational study, 100 patients with musculoskeletal pain underwent an EOS to obtain whole body coronal and sagittal images. The outcome measures were human posture parameters, which were divided by the standing plane in both EOSs and PAViRs as follows: (1) a coronal view (asymmetric clavicle height, pelvic oblique, bilateral Q angles of the knee, and center of seventh cervical vertebra-central sacral line (C7-CSL)) and (2) a sagittal view (forward head posture). A validation of the PAViR compared to the EOSs revealed that C7-CSL showed a moderate positive correlation with that of the EOS (r = 0.42, p < 0.01). The forward head posture (r = 0.39, p < 0.01), asymmetric clavicle height (r = 0.37, p < 0.01), and pelvic oblique (r = 0.32, p < 0.01) compared to those of the EOS had slightly positive correlations. The PAViR has excellent intra-rater reliability in people with somatic dysfunction. Except for both Q angles, the PAViR has fair-to-moderate validation when compared to EOS diagnostic imaging in the parameter representing coronal and sagittal imbalance. Although the PAViR system is not yet available in the medical field, it has the potential to become a radiation-free, accessible, and cost-effective postural analysis diagnostic tool after the EOS era.

Abstract
Appropriate rehabilitation of stroke patients at a very early phase results in favorable outcomes. However, the optimal strategy for very early rehabilitation is at present unclear due to the limited knowledge on the effects of very early initiation of rehabilitation based on voluntary exercise (VE). Environmental enrichment (EE) is a therapeutic paradigm for laboratory animals that involves complex combinations of physical, cognitive, and social stimuli, as well as VE. Few studies delineated the effect of EE on apoptosis in very early stroke in an experimental model. Although a minimal benefit of early rehabilitation in stroke models has been claimed in previous studies, these were based on a forced exercise paradigm. The aim of this study is to determine whether very early exposure to EE can effectively regulate Fas/FasL-mediated apoptosis following hypoxic-ischemic (HI) brain injury and improve neurobehavioral function. C57Bl/6 mice were housed for 2 weeks in either cages with EE or standard cages (SC) 3 h or 72 h after HI brain injury. Very early exposure to EE was associated with greater improvement in motor function and cognitive ability, reduced volume of the infarcted area, decreased mitochondria-mediated apoptosis, and decreased oxidative stress. Very early exposure to EE significantly downregulated Fas/FasL-mediated apoptosis, decreased expression of Fas, Fas-associated death domain, cleaved caspase-8/caspase-8, cleaved caspase-3/caspase-3, as well as Bax and Bcl-2, in the cerebral cortex and the hippocampus. Delayed exposure to EE, on the other hand, failed to inhibit the extrinsic pathway of apoptosis. This study demonstrates that very early exposure to EE is a potentially useful therapeutic translation for stroke rehabilitation through effective inhibition of the extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic pathways.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Glasgow Microenvironment Score (GMS) stratifies long-term survival into three groups based on tumour phenotype: peritumoural inflammation (Klintrup-Mäkinen (KM)) and tumour stroma percentage (TSP). However, it is not known if the location of disease recurrence is influenced by the GMS category. METHODS Seven hundred and eighty-three TNM I-III colorectal cancers (CRC) were included. GMS (GMS0-high KM; GMS1-low KM, low TSP; GMS2-low KM, high TSP) and cancer-specific survival (CSS), overall survival (OS) and disease recurrence were assessed using Cox regression analysis. RESULTS Of the 783 patients, 221 developed CRC recurrence; 65 developed local recurrence + systemic disease. GMS was independent for CSS (HR 1.50, 95% CI 1.17-1.92, p < 0.001) and OS (HR 1.23, 1.05-1.44, p = 0.01). Higher GMS category was associated with T-stage, N-stage, emergency presentation and venous invasion. GMS was independent for local+systemic recurrence (HR 11.53, 95% CI 1.45-91.85, p = 0.04) and distant-only recurrence (HR 3.01, 95% CI 1.59-5.71, p = 0.002). GMS 2 disease did not appear to have statistically better outcomes with adjuvant chemotherapy in high-risk disease. CONCLUSION Although confounded by a higher rate of T4 and node-positive disease, GMS 1 and 2 are associated with an increased risk of local and distant recurrence. GMS is an independent poor prognostic indicator for recurrent colorectal cancer. Higher GMS patients may benefit from enhanced postoperative surveillance.

Abstract
Balance relies on several types of sensory information, including somatosensory senses such as touch and position sense (proprioception). As these senses decline in older adults, there is a question of whether shoes limit somatosensory feedback from the floor. Textured insoles are designed to stimulate the soles of the feet to enhance tactile feedback. Textured insoles have shown balance benefits in some populations, but it is unclear if such tactile stimulation improves a person's balance even in cushioned athletic shoes, which dampen proprioceptive signals. Here we ask whether tactile vs. proprioceptive cues contribute differently to balance control in the healthy somatosensory system. We assessed balance in 20 healthy young adults under four footwear conditions: cushioned shoes with regular insoles, cushioned shoes with textured insoles, barefoot, and minimalist shoes. Each condition was evaluated using the Y-Balance Test (YBT) and the Balance Error Scoring System (BESS), validated tests of dynamic and static balance, respectively. YBT is a dynamic reaching test performed on one leg. The BESS includes various stance conditions with eyes closed. The results showed that footwear influenced dynamic balance only, with textured insoles leading to significantly better performance than barefoot and minimalist shoes did in the YBT. These results suggest that at least for dynamic balance, balance benefits of tactile stimulation from the textured insoles offset any dampening of proprioception caused by the athletic shoes' cushioning. Future research on how these conditions compare in older adults may lead to improved footwear recommendations to reduce fall risk and injuries for that population.

Abstract
Purpose To describe the prevalence and characteristics of posterior segment manifestations in patients with HLA-B27-associated uveitis using wide field imaging. Methods Medical records of patients diagnosed with HLA-B27-associated uveitis from a tertiary uveitis clinic were reviewed. Posterior segment involvements including but not limited to peripheral vasculitis, optic disc inflammation, and macula edema documented based on medical records and various imaging modalities including wide field fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography, were noted. Demographic characteristics, accompanied with systemic diseases as well as duration and chronicity of uveitis, were also evaluated. Patients with significant systemic and ocular comorbidities were excluded. Statistical analyses including chi-squared tests and paired t-tests were employed. Results Of the 44 patients with HLA-B27 associated uveitis, 22 patients (50%) were noted to demonstrate posterior segment involvement. Disc leakage and peripheral vasculitis were the most common findings of posterior involvement. Those with anterior chamber inflammation were found to have a significantly increased risk of posterior involvement. Those with posterior involvement were also noted to have a statistically significant decreased visual acuity. No significant association was found between documented duration of disease and posterior segment involvement. Conclusion The prevalence of posterior segment involvement in HLA-B27 associated uveitis is higher compared to previous reports when evaluated with wide angle imaging modalities. Careful examination of the posterior segment is required in patients with HLA-B27 associated uveitis.

Abstract
This quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest study developed a 10-session group poetry therapy program for nursing students and examined effects on clinical training, job-seeking stress, anxiety, ego-resilience, and psychological well-being. Forty-nine nursing students were conveniently recruited (experimental group n = 24, control group n = 25). Program construction used the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation model and Mazza's poetry therapy practice model. Compared to the control group, the experimental group showed significant decreases in stress and anxiety and significant improvements in ego-resilience and psychological well-being immediately after intervention, maintained at 5-week follow-up. The program can be a beneficial intervention for individuals experiencing various degrees of stress.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Vaccination against COVID-19 is an effective method for individuals to reduce negative health outcomes. However, widespread COVID-19 vaccination among children has been challenging owing to parental hesitancy. OBJECTIVE To examine parental decision-making in favor of the COVID-19 vaccine for their children and its association with the sufficiency and credibility of the information about the vaccine. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS This cross-sectional survey study was conducted in South Korea from February 7 to 10, 2022, 7 weeks before initiation of the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years. Parents were included if they spoke Korean and had at least 1 child in elementary school (grades 1-6). Parents and children were included in a 1:1 ratio; a total of 113 450 parents and 113 450 children were included in the analysis. Statistical analysis was performed between March and April 2022. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The main outcomes of interest were (1) parental acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination for their children and (2) its association with self-reported sufficiency and credibility of information about the vaccine. A multivariable logistic regression was used to evaluate factors associated with parental decision-making in favor of COVID-19 vaccination; path analysis was used to examine indirect effects of information sufficiency and credibility. RESULTS Of the 113 450 children, 58 342 (51.4%) were boys, and the mean (SD) age was 10.1 (1.5) years. Of the 113 450 parents who responded, 7379 (6.5%) were accepting vaccination for their children; 15 731 (13.9%) reported the vaccine-related information they received was sufficient, and 23 021 (20.3%) reported the information was credible. Parents who reported that the information was sufficient were 3.08 times (95% CI, 2.85-3.33; P < .001) more likely to report being willing to vaccinate their children than those who believed the information was insufficient, and those who reported that the information was credible were 7.55 times (95% CI, 6.46-8.87; P < .001) more likely to report being willing to vaccinate their children than those who believed the information was not credible. Higher levels of information sufficiency and credibility were associated with perceptions of increased vaccine safety (sufficiency: β = 0.08; P < .001; credibility: β = 0.59; P < .001) and effectiveness (sufficiency: β = 0.05; P < .001; credibility: β = 0.60; P < .001). CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE In this study, a significant association was found between self-reported sufficiency and credibility of vaccine-related information and parental decision-making regarding COVID-19 vaccination for their children, suggesting that communications and policies that provide sound information are essential to improve vaccination rates.

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the reliability, overall quality, and educational value of online videos for learning the techniques related to shoulder injection treatments and analyzing the usability of video evaluation tools for musculoskeletal injections. Online video searches were performed in February 2022 using the terms "shoulder injection", "glenohumeral joint injection", "acromioclavicular joint injection", and "subacromial bursa injection." Included videos were scored by modified DISCERN (mDISCERN), global quality score (GQS), and shoulder injection score (SIS). Correlations between scoring systems were analyzed. Of the 150 videos, 49 (32.67%) contained highly reliable information. Regarding the assessment of overall quality by the GQS, 109 (72.67%) videos were of low quality. Regarding SIS, 114 (76.00%) scored not >5, of which 77 (51.33%) scored <3. Most of the SIS domains were fully explained in <40% of the included videos. A weak positive relationship was noted between the mDISCERN and SIS (r2 = 0.38), while a moderately positive relationship was observed between the GQS and SIS (r2 = 0.49). The majority of online videos about shoulder injection treatment showed low reliability, overall quality, and educational value. Additionally, a new scoring system is required to accurately evaluate musculoskeletal injection videos for educational purposes.

Abstract
Purpose: To report the results of a 2021 questionnaire survey assessing the current trends and practice patterns in the treatment of uveitis, conducted by the Korean Uveitis Society (KUS).Methods: To understand the current treatment and trends for uveitis in Korea, a total of 11 questions were surveyed in November 2021 among 300 members of the KUS. This survey comprised 11 multiple choice and dichotomy questions.Results: Of 300 participants, 179 responded, and the response rate was 59.7%. Among the respondents, 92.7% were retina specialists and 66.9% reported less than 10% of uveitis patients among outpatients. As imaging tests performed in patients with anterior uveitis, fundus photography and optical coherence tomography were typically performed (83.8% vs. 73.2%, respectively). The frequently performed blood tests for general screening were complete blood count, blood chemistry test, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and C-reactive protein (89.9% vs. 86.2% vs. 85.5% vs. 82.4%, respectively). Regarding local steroid treatment, subtenon injection was the most preferred (74.9%). Regarding systemic oral corticosteroids, 83.7% of respondents commonly used initial doses of 0.5-1 mg/kg. Cyclosporine, methotrexate, mycophenolate mofetil, and azathioprine were used for steroid-refractory uveitis patients in that order (36.2% vs. 34.8% vs. 21.7% vs. 7.3%, respectively). Concerning the currently used biologic agent, adalimumab was the most preferred, at 96.7%.Conclusions: This survey highlights the recent trends and practice patterns in the treatment of uveitis in Korea.

Abstract
PURPOSE Maintaining or increasing user adherence to digital healthcare services is of great concern to service providers. This study aims to verify whether the donation model is an effective strategy to increase adherence to physical exercise using a mobile application. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 5618 users of a motion-detecting mobile exercise coaching application participated in a donation or self-reward exercise challenge with the same exercise protocol. The workout consisted of 50 squats daily for 14 days. The user's exercise was monitored through a smartphone camera, providing real-time visual and audio feedback. In the donation group, 6 USD was donated to the economically disadvantaged if a participant completed their workout each day. In the self-reward group, three people who completed the program and 20 people who completed ≥12 days of exercise were randomly selected and provided with goods worth 60 USD and 4.3 USD of online currency, respectively. RESULTS The average daily exercise completion rate (% of participants who completed daily exercise) in the donation group was 1.8 times higher than that of the self-reward group (donation, 41.7%; self-reward, 22.7%; p<0.0001). The donation group completed more days of the program (donation, 5.8; self-reward, 3.2; p<0.0001). The completion rate of both groups decreased with time and decreased most on day two (donation, -9.9%; self-reward, -14.5%). CONCLUSION The donation model effectively promoted adherence to mobile app-based exercise. This donation model is expected to effectively enhance user adherence to digital healthcare services.

Background
Elderly patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) generally have a high risk of adverse clinical outcomes. We investigated the long-term clinical impact of PCI on coronary bifurcation disease in elderly patients in Korea and Italy.
Methods
From the BIFURCAT (comBined Insights from the Unified RAIN and COBIS bifurcAtion regisTries) data, we evaluated 5,537 patients who underwent PCI for coronary bifurcation disease. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiac events (MACEs), defined as the composite of target vessel myocardial infarction, target lesion revascularisation, and stent thrombosis. Kaplan–Meier estimates and Cox proportional hazard models were used to compare elderly patients (aged ≥75 years) and younger patients (aged <75 years).
Results
A total of 1,415 patients (26%) were aged ≥75 years. Elderly patients were more frequently female, had higher rates of hypertension and chronic kidney disease (CKD), and presented more frequently with left main (LM) disease. After a median follow-up of 2.1 years, MACEs were comparable between elderly and younger patients. In multivariable analysis, old age was not an independent predictor of MACEs (p=0.977). In elderly patients, CKD and LM disease were independent predictors of MACEs, whereas in younger patients, hypertension, diabetes, CKD, reduced left ventricular ejection fraction, LM disease, and two-stent strategy usage were independent predictors.
Conclusions
Elderly patients who underwent coronary bifurcation PCI with second-generation drug-eluting stents demonstrated similar clinical outcomes to those of younger patients. Both CKD and LM disease were independent predictors of MACEs, regardless of age after coronary bifurcation PCI.

Background
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is highly prevalent among individuals hospitalized with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and is associated with increased risk for cardiovascular complications and short-term and long-term mortality. However, most existing data are from older patients. Little is known about the incidence of diabetes in individuals who experience AMI at a young age. Whether the presence of DM is associated with worse outcomes in these patients is not clear.
Purpose
To test the hypothesis that the impact of DM on clinical outcomes after AMI can vary by age.
Methods
A total of 12,600 AMI patients from the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry-National Institute of Health (KAMIR-NIH) between November 2011 and December 2015 was classified into young (n=3,590 [28.5%]) and elderly (n=9,010 [71.5%]). Those less than 55 years of age were considered young. We performed comparisons of baseline characteristics, in-hospital treatments, and long-term clinical outcomes between patients with and without diabetes after stratification according to age group.
Results
The prevalence of diabetes mellitus was 26.5% in the young AMI group. In the multivariable-adjusted model of the entire cohort, diabetes mellitus was associated strongly with 3-year all-cause mortality (12.6% vs. 6.8%; adjusted hazard ratio [HR], 1.318; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.138–1.526; P<0.001). When the entire cohort was subdivided into two age groups, young diabetic patients showed a 107.0% higher mortality rate than those without diabetes (adjusted HR, 2.070; 95% CI, 1.150–3.724; P=0.015). Meanwhile, elderly diabetic patients had a 25.3% higher risk of mortality than non-diabetic patients (adjusted HR, 1.253; 95% CI, 1.076–1.459; P=0.004). The interaction of diabetes with age was significant (adjusted P for interaction = 0.008).
Conclusion
DM is not uncommon in younger AMI patients, and the relative risk of long-term mortality is significantly higher in young patients than in older counterparts. More aggressive treatments are needed to prevent future cardiovascular events in younger patients after AMI.

Background
Central blood pressure and central pulse pressure have a better correlation with the risk of cardiovascular disease compared to those of peripheral measurement. In a previous study, a second-generation beta-blocker showed poor CBP-lowering effects. However, the effect on CBP by third-generation beta-blockers is not fully elucidated. Thus, this randomised study investigated whether nebivolol-based hypertension treatment may confer advantages over telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor-blocker, in reducing CBP.
Methods
This was a prospective, randomised, multicentre, open-label, controlled trial that evaluated 98 hypertensive patients. Patients received either nebivolol- (N=49) or telmisartan-based (N=49) treatment for hypertension for 12 weeks with a target BP of ≤140/80. The primary outcome was the difference in change from baseline central systolic BP (cSBP) after 12 weeks.
Results
There were no significant differences between the two groups in baseline central and peripheral SBP. The mean change in cSBP from baseline (ΔcSBP) was −17.2±3 mmHg for nebivolol group (P<0.001) and −29.9±3 mmHg for telmisartan group (P<0.001). The difference in ΔcSBP between the two groups was significant (12.7mmHg, 95% confidence interval [CI], 4.13 to 21.2; P=0.004). Peripheral SBP (pSBP) decreased less in nebivolol group compared to telmisartan group (−18.0±3 in nebivolol group vs. −26.3±3 in telmisartan group, P=0.032). After adjusting for reduction in pSBP, reduction in cSBP was higher in telmisartan group compared to nebivolol group, as shown by the ratio of changes in cSBP and pSBP (ΔcSBP/ΔpSBP; 0.67 for nebivolol group vs. 1.11 for telmisartan group, P=0.080), albeit without statistical significance.
Conclusions
Nebivolol-based hypertension treatment may have less potent CBP-lowering effects compared to telmisartan. However, larger-scale studies are warranted to further elaborate our findings.

Background
A limitation of the current guidelines of the timing of invasive coronary angiography (ICA) for patients with non-ST-segment elevation (NSTE) acute coronary syndrome is based on randomization time. So far, no study has reported the clinical outcomes of invasive strategy timing based on the time of symptom onset. Herein, we aimed to investigate the effect of invasive strategy timing from the time of symptom onset on the 3-year clinical outcomes of patients with NSTE myocardial infarction (MI).
Methods and results
Among 13,104 patients from the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry-National Institutes of Health, we evaluated 5,856 patients with NSTEMI. The patients were categorized according to symptom-to-catheter (StC) time (<48 h and ≥48 h). The primary outcome was 3-year all-cause mortality, and the secondary outcome was a 3-year composite of all-cause mortality, recurrent MI, and hospitalization for heart failure. Overall, 3,919 (66.9%) patients were classified into the StC time <48 h group. This group had lower all-cause mortality than the StC time ≥48 h group (7.3% vs. 13.4%, p<0.001). The continuous association of StC time and risk of primary and secondary endpoints showed shorter StC time (reference: 48 h), and lower adjusted hazard ratio reduction was observed. In multivariable analysis, independent predictors of delayed ICA were older age, non-specific symptoms, no use of emergency medical services, no ST-segment deviation, chronic kidney disease, and Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events score >140.
Conclusion
Early invasive strategy based on the StC time improves all-cause mortality in patients with NSTEMI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The association between endovascular treatment (EVT) case volume per hospital and clinical outcomes has been reported, but the exact volume threshold has not been determined. This study aimed to examine the case volume threshold in this context. METHODS National audit data on the quality of acute stroke care in patients admitted via emergency department, within 7 days of onset, in hospitals that treated ≥ 10 stroke cases during the audit period were analyzed. Ischemic stroke cases treated with EVT during the last three audits (2013, 2014, and 2016) were selected for the analysis. Annual EVT case volume per hospital was estimated and analyzed as a continuous and a categorical variable (in quartiles). The primary outcome measure was 1-year mortality as a surrogate of 3-month functional outcome. As post-hoc sensitivity analysis, replication of the study results was examined using the 2018 audit data. RESULTS We analyzed 1,746 ischemic stroke cases treated with EVT in 120 acute care hospitals. The median annual EVT case volume was 12.0 cases per hospital, and mortality rates at 1 month, 3 months, and 1 year were 12.7%, 16.6%, and 23.3%, respectively. Q3 and Q4 had 33% lower odds of 1-year mortality than Q1. Adjustments were made for predetermined confounders. Annual EVT case volume cut-off value for 1-year mortality was 15 cases per year (P < 0.02). The same cut-off value was replicated in the sensitivity analysis. CONCLUSION Annual EVT case volume was associated with 1-year mortality. The volume threshold per hospital was 15 cases per year.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to report the clinical validation of the posture analyzing and virtual reconstruction device (PAViR) system, focusing on the accuracy of sagittal spinal parameters, compared with the EOS imaging system. Seventy patients diagnosed with segmental and somatic dysfunction were recruited between February 2020 and November 2020. Each patient was examined using the EOS imaging system and PAViR; the sagittal parameters of human body posture [forward head posture (FHP), T1 tilt angle (T1t), knee flexion angle (KF), lumbar lordosis angle (LL), and pelvic tilt angle (PT)] were analyzed to verify the correlation between the results of the two devices. The median differences in the results of the two devices showed significant differences in FHP (T4-frontal head and T4-auditory canal), T1t, and PT. In the correlation analysis, the values of FHP (C7-auditory canal, T4-frontal head, and T4-auditory canal), T1t, and PT showed a moderate correlation between the two devices (r = 0.741, 0.795, 0.761, 0.621, and 0.692, respectively) (p < 0.001). The KF and LL was fairly correlated (r = 0.514 and 0.536, respectively) (p = 0.004, both). This study presents the potential of a novel skeletal imaging system without radiation exposure, based on a 3D red-green-blue-depth camera (PAViR), as a next-generation diagnostic tool by estimating more accurate parameters through continuous multi-data-based upgrades with artificial intelligence technology.
