Abstract
BACKGROUND The randomized, sham-controlled RADIANCE-HTN (A Study of the Recor Medical Paradise System in Clinical Hypertension) SOLO, RADIANCE-HTN TRIO, and RADIANCE II (A Study of the Recor Medical Paradise System in Stage II Hypertension) trials independently met their primary end point of a greater reduction in daytime ambulatory systolic blood pressure (SBP) 2 months after ultrasound renal denervation (uRDN) in patients with hypertension. To characterize the longer-term effectiveness and safety of uRDN versus sham at 6 months, after the blinded addition of antihypertensive treatments (AHTs), we pooled individual patient data across these 3 similarly designed trials. METHODS Patients with mild to moderate hypertension who were not on AHT or with hypertension resistant to a standardized combination triple AHT were randomized to uRDN (n=293) versus sham (n=213); they were to remain off of added AHT throughout 2 months of follow-up unless specified blood pressure (BP) criteria were exceeded. In each trial, if monthly home BP was ≥135/85 mm Hg from 2 to 5 months, standardized AHT was sequentially added to target home BP <135/85 mm Hg under blinding to initial treatment assignment. Six-month outcomes included baseline- and AHT-adjusted change in daytime ambulatory, home, and office SBP; change in AHT; and safety. Linear mixed regression models using all BP measurements and change in AHT from baseline through 6 months were used. RESULTS Patients (70% men) were 54.1±9.3 years of age with a baseline daytime ambulatory/home/office SBP of 150.5±9.8/151.0±12.4/155.5±14.4 mm Hg, respectively. From 2 to 6 months, BP decreased in both groups with AHT titration, but fewer uRDN patients were prescribed AHT (P=0.004), and fewer additional AHT were prescribed to uRDN patients versus sham patients (P=0.001). Whereas the unadjusted between-group difference in daytime ambulatory SBP was similar at 6 months, the baseline and medication-adjusted between-group difference at 6 months was -3.0 mm Hg (95% CI, -5.7, -0.2; P=0.033), in favor of uRDN+AHT. For home and office SBP, the adjusted between-group differences in favor of uRDN+AHT over 6 months were -5.4 mm Hg (-6.8, -4.0; P<0.001) and -5.2 mm Hg (-7.1, -3.3; P<0.001), respectively. There was no heterogeneity between trials. Safety outcomes were few and did not differ between groups. CONCLUSIONS This individual patient-data analysis of 506 patients included in the RADIANCE trials demonstrates the maintenance of BP-lowering efficacy of uRDN versus sham at 6 months, with fewer added AHTs. Abstract
Cancer in childhood represent 1% of all the new diagnosed cancers. About 30% of children with cancer receive radiation therapy, representing about 600 to 700 patients per year in France. As a consequence, paediatric cancers with synchronous metastasis is a very rare situation in oncology, with usually poor standard of care. However, considerable efforts are made by paediatric oncology scientific societies to offer trials or treatment consensus despite these rare situations. The article proposes to synthesize the radiotherapy management of both primary tumour and synchronous metastasis in the most "common" childhood or adolescent cancers.

Abstract
Radiotherapy for adolescents and young adults is complex in several aspects. The population is very heterogeneous and has characteristics derived from both paediatric and adult populations both in terms of pathology (anatomical pathology, response to treatment) and the patient's physical, biological and psychological characteristics. This article reviews the characteristics to be taken into account in adolescent and young adult patients radiotherapy and more particularly in some of the most common diseases.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) We aimed to establish the added value of combining dosimetry with a binary blood assay for radiosensitivity based on quantification of pATM protein (RADIODTECT©) to predict acute radiotherapy (RT) induced mucositis (MUC) and dysphagia (DYS) in head & neck cancer patients (pts). MATERIALS/METHODS We enrolled 101 pts prospectively scored for acute toxicity with CTCAE. We considered four endpoints: grade≥2 (G2+) and grade≥3 (G3+) MUC, G2+, and G3+ DYS. We dichotomized the pATM concentration to define radiosensitive (RS) vs. radioresistant (RR) pts using previously described cutoffs for G2+ (57.8 ng/mL) and G3+ toxicity (46 ng/mL). We did RADIODTECT© and toxicity scoring blindly. We considered two already published NTCP models, including (i) the Equivalent Uniform Dose to the oral cavity (n = 0.05, EUD_OC, Odds Ratio [OR] = 1.02) and the mean dose to the parotid glands (Dmean_PG, OR = 1.06) for MUC and (ii) EUD_OC (OR = 1.04), the glottic larynx EUD (n = 0.35, EUD_GL, OR = 1.02) and the volume of pharyngeal constrictor muscles receiving>50Gy (V50Gy_CM, OR = 1.02) for DYS. To account for the association of toxicity with the dose distribution in multiple organs at risk (OARs), we derived a "Weighted Dose Score" (WDS) as a linear combination of the dose factors, using their β-coefficients (= lnOR) as weights. WDS for MUC (WDS_OM) = 0.06*Dmean_PG + 0.02*EUD_OC WDS for DYS (WDS_DYS) = 0.02*V50Gy_CM + 0.02*EUD_GL + 0.04*EUD_OC We used WDS as a comprehensive dose feature to fit a dose response and allowed WDS50 (i.e., the WDS associated with 50% toxicity probability) to be different for RR (WDS50_RR) and RS pts (WDS50_RS). The dose-modifying factor (DMF) is the ratio of WDS50_RS/WDS50_RR. It measures the horizontal shift of the dose-response curve when comparing RS vs. RR pts. RESULTS We scored G2+ and G3+ MUC in 80 and 41 pts; G2+ and G3+ DYS in 73 and 35 pts. The average concentration of pATM was 57.4ng/mL (sd 22.3ng/mL): 53/101 pts were classified as RS for G2+ toxicity and 35/101 as RS for G3+. On the whole cohort, the RADIODTECT© did not significantly associate with the risk of toxicity. However, we found two different dose-response curves at low WDS. There, the intrinsic biological sensitivity significantly affects the toxicity probability: ORs for RADIODTECT© are 2.6/2.4 for G2+/G3+ DYS, 6.4/2.9 for G2+/G3+ MUC. Furthermore, the difference in the incidence of side effects in RR vs. RS pts decreases as the WDS increases, reaching a region where the doses of OARs play a significant role. When combined with WDS, the RADIODTECT© effectively predicted RS pts, with DMF ranging from 0.77 for G3+ DYS to 0.40 for G2+ MUC. CONCLUSION These findings support the hypothesis that dose and biomarkers act synergistically; biologically based radiosensitivity plays a significant role when OARs are exposed at lower doses, while high doses of OARs determine toxicity irrespective of the underlying single pt biological characterization.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Ependymomas in the posterior fossa have poor prognosis. This study reports a single-center pediatric series, focusing on the value of surgical resection. MATERIAL AND METHODS A single-center retrospective study included all patients operated on by the senior author (CM) for posterior fossa ependymoma from 2002 to 2018. Medical and surgical data were extracted from the hospital's medical database. RESULTS Thirty-four patients were included. Age ranged from 6 months to 18 years, with a median of 4.7 years. Fourteen patients underwent initial endoscopic third ventriculocisternostomy before the direct surgical resection. Surgical removal was complete in 27 patients. There were 32 surgeries for second-look, local recurrence or metastasis despite complementary chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. Twenty patients were WHO grade 2 and 14 grade 3. Sixteen patients showed recurrence (47%). Overall survival was 61.8% at a mean 10.1 years' follow-up. Morbidities comprised facial nerve palsy, swallowing disorder, and transient cerebellar syndrome. Fifteen patients had normal schooling, 6 had special assistance; 4 patients reached university, 3 of whom experienced difficulties. Three patients had a job. CONCLUSION Posterior fossa ependymomas are aggressive tumors. Complete surgical removal is the most important prognostic factor, despite risk of sequelae. Complementary treatment is mandatory, but no targeted therapy has so far proved effective. It is important to continue the search for molecular markers in order to improve outcomes.

Abstract
Importance Ultrasound renal denervation (uRDN) was shown to lower blood pressure (BP) in patients with uncontrolled hypertension (HTN). Establishing the magnitude and consistency of the uRDN effect across the HTN spectrum is clinically important. Objective To characterize the effectiveness and safety of uRDN vs a sham procedure from individual patient-level pooled data across uRDN trials including either patients with mild to moderate HTN on a background of no medications or with HTN resistant to standardized triple-combination therapy. Data Sources A Study of the ReCor Medical Paradise System in Clinical Hypertension (RADIANCE-HTN SOLO and TRIO) and A Study of the ReCor Medical Paradise System in Stage II Hypertension (RADIANCE II) trials. Study Selection Trials with similar designs, standardized operational implementation (medication standardization and blinding of both patients and physicians to treatment assignment), and follow-up. Data Extraction and Synthesis Pooled analysis using individual patient-level data using linear regression models to compare uRDN with sham across the trials. Main Outcomes and Measures The primary outcome was baseline-adjusted change in 2-month daytime ambulatory systolic BP (dASBP) between groups. Results A total of 506 patients were randomized in the 3 studies (uRDN, 293; sham, 213; mean [SD] age, 54.1 [9.3]; 354 male [70.0%]). After a 1-month medication stabilization period, dASBP was similar between the groups (mean [SD], uRDN, 150.3 [9.2] mm Hg; sham, 150.8 [10.5] mm Hg). At 2 months, dASBP decreased by 8.5 mm Hg to mean (SD) 141.8 (13.8) mm Hg among patients treated with uRDN and by 2.9 mm Hg to 147.9 (14.6) mm Hg among patients treated with a sham procedure (mean difference, -5.9; 95% CI, -8.1 to -3.8 mm Hg; P < .001 in favor of uRDN). BP decreases from baseline with uRDN vs sham were consistent across trials and across BP parameters (office SBP: -10.4 mm Hg vs -3.4 mm Hg; mean difference, -6.4 mm Hg; 95% CI, -9.1 to -3.6 mm Hg; home SBP: -8.4 mm Hg vs -1.4 mm Hg; mean difference, -6.8 mm Hg; 95% CI, -8.7 to -4.9 mm Hg, respectively). The BP reductions with uRDN vs sham were consistent across prespecified subgroups. Independent predictors of a larger BP response to uRDN were higher baseline BP and heart rate and the presence of orthostatic hypertension. No differences in early safety end points were observed between groups. Conclusions and Relevance Results of this patient-level pooled analysis suggest that BP reductions with uRDN were consistent across HTN severity in sham-controlled trials designed with a 2-month primary end point to standardize medications across randomized groups. Abstract
Importance Two initial sham-controlled trials demonstrated that ultrasound renal denervation decreases blood pressure (BP) in patients with mild to moderate hypertension and hypertension that is resistant to treatment. Objective To study the efficacy and safety of ultrasound renal denervation without the confounding influence of antihypertensive medications in patients with hypertension. Design, Setting, and Participants Sham-controlled, randomized clinical trial with patients and outcome assessors blinded to treatment assignment that was conducted between January 14, 2019, and March 25, 2022, at 37 centers in the US and 24 centers in Europe, with randomization stratified by center. Patients aged 18 years to 75 years with hypertension (seated office systolic BP [SBP] ≥140 mm Hg and diastolic BP [DBP] ≥90 mm Hg despite taking up to 2 antihypertensive medications) were eligible if they had an ambulatory SBP/DBP of 135/85 mm Hg or greater and an SBP/DBP less than 170/105 mm Hg after a 4-week washout of their medications. Patients with an estimated glomerular filtration rate of 40 mL/min/1.73 m2 or greater and with suitable renal artery anatomy were randomized 2:1 to undergo ultrasound renal denervation or a sham procedure. Patients were to abstain from antihypertensive medications until the 2-month follow-up unless prespecified BP criteria were exceeded and were associated with clinical symptoms. Interventions Ultrasound renal denervation vs a sham procedure. Main Outcomes and Measures The primary efficacy outcome was the mean change in daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months. The primary safety composite outcome of major adverse events included death, kidney failure, and major embolic, vascular, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and hypertensive events at 30 days and renal artery stenosis greater than 70% detected at 6 months. The secondary outcomes included mean change in 24-hour ambulatory SBP, home SBP, office SBP, and all DBP parameters at 2 months. Results Among 1038 eligible patients, 150 were randomized to ultrasound renal denervation and 74 to a sham procedure (mean age, 55 years [SD, 9.3 years]; 28.6% female; and 16.1% self-identified as Black or African American). The reduction in daytime ambulatory SBP was greater with ultrasound renal denervation (mean, -7.9 mm Hg [SD, 11.6 mm Hg]) vs the sham procedure (mean, -1.8 mm Hg [SD, 9.5 mm Hg]) (baseline-adjusted between-group difference, -6.3 mm Hg [95% CI, -9.3 to -3.2 mm Hg], P < .001), with a consistent effect of ultrasound renal denervation throughout the 24-hour circadian cycle. Among 7 secondary BP outcomes, 6 were significantly improved with ultrasound renal denervation vs the sham procedure. No major adverse events were reported in either group. Conclusions and Relevance In patients with hypertension, ultrasound renal denervation reduced daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months in the absence of antihypertensive medications vs a sham procedure without postprocedural major adverse events. Abstract
Importance Although early trials of endovascular renal denervation (RDN) for patients with resistant hypertension (RHTN) reported inconsistent results, ultrasound RDN (uRDN) was found to decrease blood pressure (BP) vs sham at 2 months in patients with RHTN taking stable background medications in the Study of the ReCor Medical Paradise System in Clinical Hypertension (RADIANCE-HTN TRIO) trial. Objectives To report the prespecified analysis of the persistence of the BP effects and safety of uRDN vs sham at 6 months in conjunction with escalating antihypertensive medications. Design, Setting, and Participants This randomized, sham-controlled, clinical trial with outcome assessors and patients blinded to treatment assignment, enrolled patients from March 11, 2016, to March 13, 2020. This was an international, multicenter study conducted in the US and Europe. Participants with daytime ambulatory BP of 135/85 mm Hg or higher after 4 weeks of single-pill triple-combination treatment (angiotensin-receptor blocker, calcium channel blocker, and thiazide diuretic) with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 40 mL/min/1.73 m2 or greater were randomly assigned to uRDN or sham with medications unchanged through 2 months. From 2 to 5 months, if monthly home BP was 135/85 mm Hg or higher, standardized stepped-care antihypertensive treatment starting with aldosterone antagonists was initiated under blinding to treatment assignment. Interventions uRDN vs sham procedure in conjunction with added medications to target BP control. Main Outcomes and Measures Six-month change in medications, change in daytime ambulatory systolic BP, change in home systolic BP adjusted for baseline BP and medications, and safety. Results A total of 65 of 69 participants in the uRDN group and 64 of 67 participants in the sham group (mean [SD] age, 52.4 [8.3] years; 104 male [80.6%]) with a mean (SD) eGFR of 81.5 (22.8) mL/min/1.73 m2 had 6-month daytime ambulatory BP measurements. Fewer medications were added in the uRDN group (mean [SD], 0.7 [1.0] medications) vs sham (mean [SD], 1.1 [1.1] medications; P = .045) and fewer patients in the uRDN group received aldosterone antagonists at 6 months (26 of 65 [40.0%] vs 39 of 64 [60.9%]; P = .02). Despite less intensive standardized stepped-care antihypertensive treatment, mean (SD) daytime ambulatory BP at 6 months was 138.3 (15.1) mm Hg with uRDN vs 139.0 (14.3) mm Hg with sham (additional decreases of -2.4 [16.6] vs -7.0 [16.7] mm Hg from month 2, respectively), whereas home SBP was lowered to a greater extent with uRDN by 4.3 mm Hg (95% CI, 0.5-8.1 mm Hg; P = .03) in a mixed model adjusting for baseline and number of medications. Adverse events were infrequent and similar between groups. Conclusions and Relevance In this study, in patients with RHTN initially randomly assigned to uRDN or a sham procedure and who had persistent elevation of BP at 2 months after the procedure, standardized stepped-care antihypertensive treatment escalation resulted in similar BP reduction in both groups at 6 months, with fewer additional medications required in the uRDN group. Abstract
Over the last decade, viral metagenomic studies have resulted in the discovery of thousands of previously unknown viruses. These studies are likely to play a pivotal role in obtaining an accurate and robust understanding of how viruses affect the stability and productivity of ecosystems. Among the metagenomics-based approaches that have been developed since the beginning of the 21st century, shotgun metagenomics applied specifically to virion-associated nucleic acids (VANA) has been used to disentangle the diversity of the viral world. We summarize herein the results of 24 VANA-based studies, focusing on plant and insect samples conducted over the last decade (2010 to 2020). Collectively, viruses from 85 different families were reliably detected in these studies, including capsidless RNA viruses that replicate in fungi, oomycetes, and plants. Finally, strengths and weaknesses of the VANA approach are summarized and perspectives of applications in detection, epidemiological surveillance, environmental monitoring, and ecology of plant viruses are provided. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The RADIANCE-HTN SOLO trial demonstrated a greater reduction in daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months by endovascular ultrasound renal denervation than sham procedure. We hypothesized that plasma renin and aldosterone concentrations would be associated with the SBP response to renal denervation. METHODS Hypertensive patients were randomized to renal denervation (n = 74) or sham (n = 72) after a 4-week washout of antihypertensive medications. In a 53-patient subset, 2-month and 6-month plasma renin and aldosterone concentration were measured. Dietary sodium was not controlled. RESULTS Mean age of the 29 treatment and 24 sham patients was 54 years; 62% were men; 17% black. Daytime ambulatory SBP fell in the denervation but not the sham group at 2 months (-7.8 ± 10.7 vs. -0.1 ± 10.1 mmHg; P = 0.048). Baseline plasma renin and aldosterone concentrations were in the low-normal range, did not change significantly at 2 months in either group and did not predict response to renal denervation. At 6 months, after the addition of antihypertensive medications, there was a significant rise in renin in the sham but not the denervation group. CONCLUSION Although renal denervation but not sham resulted in a decrease in daytime ambulatory SBP at 2 months, renin and aldosterone concentrations did neither predict the BP response to renal denervation; nor did they fall after denervation. A rise in renin at 6 months in the sham group likely represents confounding from antihypertensive medications. Whether the BP-lowering effect of renal denervation depends on reducing local intrarenal renin release requires further study.

Abstract
A third of children with cancer receive radiotherapy as part of their initial treatment, which represents 800 paediatric irradiations per year in France carried out in 15 specialized centres approved on the recommendations of the French national cancer institute in decreasing order of frequency, the types of cancer that require irradiation are: brain tumours, neuroblastomas, Ewing's sarcomas, Hodgkin's lymphomas, soft tissue sarcomas including rhabdomyosarcomas, and nephroblastomas. The treatment guidelines follow the recommendations of the French society for childhood cancers (SFCE) or the French and European prospective protocols. The therapeutic indications, the technical and/and ballistic choices of complex cases are frequently discussed during bimonthly paediatric radiotherapy technical web-conferences. All cancers combined, overall survival being 80%, long-term toxicity logically becomes an important concern, making the preparation of treatments complex. The irradiation methods include all the techniques currently available: 3D conformational irradiation, intensity modulation radiation therapy, irradiation under normal or hypofractionated stereotaxic conditions, brachytherapy and proton therapy. We present the update of the recommendations of the French society for radiation oncology on the indications, the technical methods of realization and the organisation and the specificities of paediatric radiation oncology.

Abstract
Non-coding small RNAs (sRNA) act as mediators of gene silencing and regulate plant growth, development and stress responses. Early insights into plant sRNAs established a role in antiviral defense and they are now extensively studied across plant-microbe interactions. Here, sRNA sequencing discovered a class of sRNA in rice (Oryza sativa) specifically associated with foliar diseases caused by Xanthomonas oryzae bacteria. Xanthomonas-induced small RNAs (xisRNAs) loci were distinctively upregulated in response to diverse virulent strains at an early stage of infection producing a single duplex of 20-22 nt sRNAs. xisRNAs production was dependent on the Type III secretion system, a major bacterial virulence factor for host colonization. xisRNA loci overlap with annotated transcripts sequences, with about half of them encoding protein kinase domain proteins. A number of the corresponding rice cis-genes have documented functions in immune signaling and xisRNA loci predominantly coincide with the coding sequence of a conserved kinase motif. xisRNAs exhibit features of small interfering RNAs and their biosynthesis depend on canonical components OsDCL1 and OsHEN1. xisRNA induction possibly mediates post-transcriptional gene silencing but they do not broadly suppress cis-genes expression on the basis of mRNA-seq data. Overall, our results identify a group of unusual sRNAs with a potential role in plant-microbe interactions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study reports the 12-month results of the RADIANCE-HTN (A Study of the ReCor Medical Paradise System in Clinical Hypertension) SOLO trial following unblinding of patients at 6 months. BACKGROUND The blood pressure (BP)-lowering efficacy and safety of endovascular ultrasound renal denervation (RDN) in the absence (2 months) and presence (6 months) of antihypertensive medications were previously reported. METHODS Patients with daytime ambulatory BP ≥135/85 mm Hg after 4 weeks off medication were randomized to RDN (n = 74) or sham (n = 72) and maintained off medication for 2 months. A standardized medication escalation protocol was instituted between 2 and 5 months (blinded phase). Between 6 and 12 months (unblinded phase), patients received antihypertensive medications at physicians' discretion. Outcomes at 12 months included medication burden, change in daytime ambulatory systolic BP (dASBP) and office or home systolic BP (SBP), visit-to-visit variability in SBP, and safety. RESULTS Sixty-five of 74 RDN patients and 67 of 72 sham patients had 12-month dASBP measurements. The proportion of patients on ≥2 medications (27.7% vs. 44.8%; p = 0.041), the number of medications (0 vs. 1.4; p = 0.015), and defined daily dose (1.4 vs. 2.2; p = 0.007) were less with RDN versus sham. The decrease in dASBP from baseline in the RDN group (-16.5 ± 12.9 mm Hg) remained stable at 12 months. The RDN versus sham adjusted difference at 12 months was -2.3 mm Hg (95% confidence interval [CI]: -5.9 to 1.3 mm Hg; p = 0.201) for dASBP, -6.3 mm Hg (95% CI: -11.1 to -1.5 mm Hg; p = 0.010) for office SBP, and -3.4 mm Hg (95% CI: -6.9 to 0.1 mm Hg; p = 0.062) for home SBP. Visit-to-visit variability in SBP was smaller in the RDN group. No renal artery injury was detected on computed tomographic or magnetic resonance angiography. CONCLUSIONS Despite unblinding, the BP-lowering effect of RDN was maintained at 12 months with fewer prescribed medications compared with sham.

Abstract
The blood pressure (BP) lowering response to renal denervation (RDN) remains variable with about one-third of patients not responding to ultrasound or radiofrequency RDN. Identification of predictors of the BP response to RDN is needed to optimize patient selection for this therapy. This is a post-hoc analysis of the RADIANCE-HTN SOLO study. BP response to RDN was measured by the change in daytime ambulatory systolic blood pressure (dASBP) at 2 months post procedure. Univariate regression was used initially to assess potential predictors of outcome followed by multivariate regression analysis. In the univariate analysis, predictors of response to RDN were higher baseline daytime ambulatory diastolic blood pressure (dADBP), the use of antihypertensive medications at screening, and presence of orthostatic hypertension (OHTN) whilst the presence of untreated accessory arteries was a negative predictor of response. Multivariate analysis determined that dADBP and use of antihypertensive medications were predictors of response to RDN with a trend for OHTN to predict response. Obese females also appeared to be better responders to RDN in an interaction model. RDN is more effective in patients with elevated baseline dADBP and those with OHTN, suggesting increased peripheral vascular resistance secondary to heightened sympathetic tone. These assessments are easy to perform in clinical setting and may help in phenotyping patients who will respond better to RDN.

Abstract
Visacane is a sugarcane quarantine station located in the South of France, far away from sugarcane growing areas. Visacane imports up to 100 sugarcane varieties per year, using safe control and confinement measures of plants and their wastes to prevent any risk of pathogen spread outside of the facilities. Viruses hosted by the imported material are either known or unknown to cause disease in cultivated sugarcane. Poaceae viruses occurring in plants surrounding the quarantine glasshouse are currently unknown. These viruses could be considered as a source of new sugarcane infections and potentially cause new sugarcane diseases in cases of confinement barrier failure. The aim of this study was to compare the plant virome inside and outside of the quarantine station to identify potential confinement failures and risks of cross infections. Leaves from quarantined sugarcane varieties and from wild Poaceae growing near the quarantine were collected and processed by a metagenomics approach based on virion-associated nucleic acids extraction and library preparation for Illumina sequencing. While viruses belonging to the same virus genus or family were identified in the sugarcane quarantine and its surroundings, no virus species was detected in both environments. Based on the data obtained in this study, no virus movement between quarantined sugarcane and nearby grassland has occurred so far, and the confinement procedures of Visacane appear to be properly implemented.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The duration of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) may affect patient outcomes. We aimed to determine the impact of a continuous versus discontinuous SBRT schedule on local control (LC) and overall survival (OS) in NSCLC patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS Consecutive NSCLC stage I patients (475) treated with SBRT in four centers were retrospectively analyzed. The delivered dose ranged from 48 to 75 Gy in 3-10 fractions. Based on the ratio between the treatment duration (TD) and number of fractions (n), patients were divided into two groups: continuous schedule (CS) (TD ≤ 1.6n; 239 patients) and discontinuous schedule (DS) (TD > 1.6n; 236 patients). LC and OS were compared using Cox regression analyses after propensity score matching (216 pairs). RESULTS The median follow-up period was 41 months. Multivariate analysis showed that the DS (hazard ratio (HR): 0.42; 95 % confidence interval (CI): 0.22-0.78) and number of fractions (HR: 1.24; 95 % CI: 1.07-1.43) were significantly associated with LC. The DS (HR: 0.67; 95 % CI: 0.51-0.89), age (HR: 1.02; 95 % CI: 1-1.03), WHO performance status (HR: 2.27; 95 % CI: 1.39-3.7), and T stage (HR: 1.4; 95 % CI: 1.03-1.87) were significantly associated with OS. The 3-year LC and OS were 92 % and 64 % and 81 % and 53 % for DS and CS treatments, respectively (p < 0.01). Cox analysis confirmed that the discontinuous SBRT schedule significantly increased LC and OS. CONCLUSION DS is associated with significantly improved LC and OS in early-stage NSCLC patients treated with SBRT.

Abstract
Background Second primary cancers (SPCs) are diagnosed in over 5% of patients after a first primary cancer (FPC). We explore here the impact of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) given for an FPC on the risk of SPC in different age groups, cancer types and treatments. Patients and methods The files of the 46 829 patients diagnosed with an FPC in the Centre Léon Bérard from 2013 to 2018 were analyzed. Structured data were extracted and electronic patient records were screened using a natural language processing tool, with validation using manual screening of 2818 files of patients. Univariate and multivariate analyses of the incidence of SPC according to patient characteristics and treatment were conducted. Results Among the 46 829 patients, 1830 (3.9%) had a diagnosis of SPC with a median interval of 11.1 months (range 0-78 months); 18 128 (38.7%) received cytotoxic chemotherapy (CC) and 1163 (2.5%) received ICIs for the treatment of the FPC in this period. SPCs were observed in 7/1163 (0.6%) patients who had received ICIs for their FPC versus 437/16 997 (2.6%) patients receiving CC and no ICIs for the FPC versus 1386/28 669 (4.8%) for patients receiving neither CC nor ICIs for the FPC. This reduction was observed at all ages and for all histotypes analyzed. Treatment with ICIs and/or CC for the FPC are associated with a reduced risk of SPC in multivariate analysis. Conclusion Immunotherapy with ICIs alone and in combination with CC was found to be associated with a reduced incidence of SPC for all ages and cancer types. From 2013 to 2018, 3.9% of the 46 829 patients diagnosed with a first cancer presented with an SPC. Treatment of the first cancer with ICIs was associated with a major reduction of SPC. CC given for an FPC was also associated with a lower magnitude of reduction of SPC. There were no SPC in cancer patients treated with ICIs in the localized phase of their first cancer.

Abstract
Renal denervation (RDN) is effective in lowering blood pressure (BP) in patients with hypertension. The issue remains how to best identify potential responders. Ambulatory BP monitoring may be useful. Baseline nighttime systolic BP (SBP) ≥136 mm Hg and its variability (SD) ≥12 mm Hg in DENER-HTN trial or 24-hour heart rate ≥73.5 bpm in SPYRAL HTN-OFF MED Trial were shown to predict the BP response to RDN. We applied these criteria to the patients with hypertension in the sham-controlled RADIANCE-HTN SOLO trial to predict the BP response to ultrasound RDN at 2 months while patients were maintained off medications. BP responders were defined as: clinical with 24-hour SBP <130 mm Hg (RDN: 22/64 versus sham: 7/58); meaningful with 24-hour SBP reduction ≥10 mm Hg (RDN: 24/64, sham: 7/58); and extreme with 24-hour SBP reduction above mean+2 SD of the SBP decrease in the sham group, that is, ≥16.5 mm Hg (RDN: 10/64 versus sham: 2/58). The predictive criteria reported above were tested for sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values. The predictive value varied according to the definition of response, with the clinical definition being strongly influenced by regression to the mean. Baseline nighttime SBP and its variability, especially when combined, offered good specificity (>90% irrespective of definition) but low sensitivity (from 9.1% to 30% depending on the definition) to predict responders; the heart rate criterion had insufficient predictive value. This analysis suggests the potential role of nighttime SBP and its variability to predict BP response to RDN in patients with hypertension. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to understand the anatomy of periarterial nerve distribution in human accessory renal arteries (ARAs). BACKGROUND Renal denervation is a promising technique for blood pressure control. Despite the high prevalence of ARAs, the anatomic distribution of periarterial nerves around ARAs remains unknown. METHODS Kidneys with surrounding tissues were collected from human autopsy subjects, and histological evaluation was performed using morphometric software. An ARA was defined as an artery arising from the aorta above or below the dominant renal artery (DRA) or an artery that bifurcated within 20 mm of the takeoff of the DRA from the aorta. The DRA was defined as an artery that perfused >50% of the kidney. RESULTS A total of 7,287 nerves from 14 ARAs and 9 DRAs were evaluated. The number of nerves was smaller in the ARA than DRA (median: 30 [interquartile range: 17.5 to 48.5] vs. 49 [interquartile range: 36 to 76]; p < 0.0001). In both ARAs and DRAs, the distance from the arterial lumen to nerve was shortest in the distal, followed by the middle and proximal segments. On the basis of the post-mortem angiography, ARAs were divided into large (≥3 mm diameter) and small (<3 mm) groups. The number of nerves was greatest in the DRA, followed by the large and small ARA groups (53 [41 to 97], 38 [25 to 53], and 24.5 [10.5 to 36.3], respectively; p = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS ARAs showed a smaller number of nerves than DRAs, but these results were dependent on the size of the ARA. Ablation, especially in large ARAs, may allow more complete denervation with the potential to further reduce blood pressure.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The internal target volume (ITV) strategy generates larger planning target volumes (PTVs) in locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) than the Mid-position (Mid-p) strategy. We investigated the benefit of the Mid-p strategy regarding PTV reduction and dose to the organs at risk (OARs). METHODS 44 patients with LA-NSCLC were included in a randomized clinical study to compare ITV and Mid-p strategies. GTV were delineated by a physician on maximum intensity projection images and on Mid-p images from four-dimensional CTs. CTVs were obtained by adding 6 mm uniform margin for microscopic extension. CTV to PTV margins were calculated using the van Herk's recipe for setup and delineation errors. For the Mid-p strategy, the mean target motion amplitude was added as a random error. For both strategies, three-dimensional conformal plans delivering 60-66 Gy to PTV were performed. PTVs, dose-volume parameters for OARs (lung, esophagus, heart, spinal cord) were reported and compared. RESULTS With the Mid-p strategy, the median of volume reduction was 23.5 cm3 (p = 0.012) and 8.8 cm3 (p = 0.0083) for PTVT and PTVN respectively; the median mean lung dose reduction was 0.51 Gy (p = 0.0057). For 37.1% of the patients, delineation errors led to smaller PTV with the ITV strategy than with the Mid-p strategy. CONCLUSION PTV and mean lung dose were significantly reduced using the Mid-p strategy. Delineation uncertainty can unfavorably impact the advantage. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE To the best of our knowledge, this is the first dosimetric comparison study between ITV and Mid-p strategies for LA-NSCLC.

Abstract
We here assessed the capability of the MinION sequencing approach to detect and characterize viruses infecting a water yam plant. This sequencing platform consistently revealed the presence of several plant virus species, including Dioscorea bacilliform virus, Yam mild mosaic virus and Yam chlorotic necrosis virus. A potentially novel ampelovirus was also detected by a complimentary Illumina sequencing approach. The full-length genome sequence of yam chlorotic necrosis virus was determined using Sanger sequencing, which enabled determination of the coverage and sequencing accuracy of the MinION technology. Whereas the total mean sequencing error rate of yam chlorotic necrosis virus-related MinION reads was 11.25%, we show that the consensus sequence obtained either by de novo assembly or after mapping the MinION reads on the virus genomic sequence was >99.8% identical with the Sanger-derived reference sequence. From the perspective of potential plant disease diagnostic applications of MinION sequencing, these degrees of sequencing accuracy demonstrate that the MinION approach can be used to both reliably detect and accurately sequence nearly full-length positive-sense single-strand polyadenylated RNA plant virus genomes.

Abstract
Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) in children and adolescents is highly curable, but children are at risk of long-term toxicity. The MDH-03 guidelines were established in order to decrease the burden of treatment in good-responder patients, and this report should be considered a step toward further optimization of treatment within large collaborative trials. We report the therapy and long-term outcomes of 417 children and adolescents treated according to the national guidelines, which were applied between 2003 and 2007 in France. The patients were stratified into three groups according to disease extension. Chemotherapy consisted of four cycles of VBVP (vinblastine, bleomycin, VP16, prednisone) in localized stages (G1/95 pts/23%), four cycles of COPP/ABV (cyclophosphamide, vincristine, procarbazine, prednisone, adriamycin, bleomycin, vinblastine) cycles in intermediate stages (G2/184 pts/44%) and three cycles of OPPA (vincristine, procarbazine, prednisone, adriamycin) plus three cycles of COPP in advanced stages (G3/138 pts/33%). Radiation therapy of the involved field was given to 97% of the patients, with the dose limited to 20 Gy in good responders (88%). With a median follow-up of 6.6 years, the 5-year event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) were 86.7% (83.1-89.7%) and 97% (94.5-98.1%), respectively. EFS and OS for G1, G2, and G3 were 98% and 100%, 81% and 97%, and 87% and 95%, respectively. Low-risk patients treated without alkylating agents and anthracycline had excellent outcomes and a low expected incidence of late effects. Intensification with a third OPPA cycle in high-risk group patients, including stage IV patients, allowed for very good outcomes, without increased toxicity.

Abstract
PURPOSE Radiotherapy is a rare indication in paediatric oncology, with 800 to 900 children in treatment per year in France. Child cancers represent approximately 1% of cancers in France and half occur before the age of 5 years. Paediatric radiation requires appropriate tools, local, time and specific training. In France, in 2015, 18 centres are accredited by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) for this activity. MATERIAL AND METHODS Survey conducted in February 2015 on the care of children (0 to 18 years) in radiotherapy departments in France. The survey was sent to the radiation oncologists involved in the 18 centres. The questions concerned the qualitative and quantitative aspect, medical and organizational aspects, and the involvement of assistant practitioners in the management of this activity. RESULTS Seventeen centres responded. In 2014, 889 children under 18 were treated in radiotherapy departments. These departments are working together with one to four paediatric oncology departments. Regarding access to general anaesthesia: three centres perform one to seven treatment(s) under anaesthesia per year, three centres eight to ten treatments under anaesthesia per year, three centres ten to 24 treatments under anaesthesia per year and nine centres out of 17 use hypnosis techniques. In terms of human resources, in 2015, 29 radiation therapists have a paediatric radiotherapy activity. Involvement of assistant practitioners is growing and specific training are desired. Regarding treatment preparation and delivery, 13 centres have specific paediatric contentions, 14 of 16 centres employ radiation intensity modulated if dosimetry is more satisfying with 11 regularly to the craniospinal irradiation. Radiotherapy on moving areas with respiratory gating or hypofractionation is under developed. CONCLUSION Paediatric radiation therapy is a specific activity requiring a dedicated management, both in human, organizational, medical and scientific aspects.

Abstract
Cancers in childhood are rare, representing 1% of all the cancers in developing countries. On the whole, the overall survival approaches 75% at 5 years. The radiation dose decrease in lots of indications as well as better optimized planning treatments lead to decrease the long-term toxicities in some indications. However, the radiation toxicity remains frequent, often specific of pediatric situations. Long-term toxicities are mainly neurologic, sensitive, endocrine, or linked to growth impairment (bones or muscular). Radio-induced second-cancers are also frequent after a long follow-up after cancer in childhood but will not be discussed here. Doses to critical organs as well as the most frequent radio-induced late-effects will be discussed in this paper.

Abstract
We investigate the effect of H adsorption on the magnetic properties of individual Co atoms on Pt(111) with scanning tunneling microscopy. For pristine Co atoms, we detect no inelastic features in the tunnel spectra. Conversely, CoH and CoH2 show a number of low-energy vibrational features in their differential conductance identified by isotope substitution. Only the fcc-adsorbed species present conductance steps of magnetic origin, with a field splitting identifying their effective spin as Seff=2 for CoH and 3/2 for CoH2. The exposure to H2 and desorption through tunnel electrons allow the reversible control of the spin in half-integer steps. Because of the presence of the surface, the hydrogen-induced spin increase is opposite to the spin sequence of CoHn molecules in the gas phase.
