Abstract
This research aimed to investigate the effects of drinking water temperatures on growth performance, water consumption, surface temperature, organ indices, blood parameters, and intestinal development of geese, and determine the optimal drinking water temperature for 21 to 49-d geese. A total of 192 twenty-one-day male Yuzhou white geese were allocated randomly to 4 groups with 8 replicate pens per group according to the drinking water temperature (drinking water temperature [7℃-12℃] at ambient temperature [TC], 18℃ [T1], 27℃ [T2], and 36℃ [T3], respectively). The results showed that increasing drinking water temperature did not significantly improve the BW, ADG, and ADFI of geese (P > 0.05), whereas drinking warm water of 36℃ for geese had a trend to increase FCR (0.05 < P < 0.1). Geese in group T2 drank the most water per day on average, whereas geese in group TC drank the least (P < 0.001). Geese in groups T1, T2, and T3 had higher eyes temperatures than group TC (P < 0.001). No significant differences were found on the organ indices and blood biochemical parameters (P > 0.05). Geese from group T1 had higher crypt depth and muscularis thickness of duodenum (P < 0.05), and lower ratio of villus height to crypt depth than other groups (P < 0.001). Geese from group T1 had higher activities of trypsin in duodenum and jejuna and amylase in jejuna at 49 d than other groups (P < 0.01). Overall, these data indicate drinking water at 18℃ can increase water consumption and eyes temperature, and improve the activity of digestive enzymes and promote intestinal development. Under our experimental conditions, we recommend that the optimal drinking water temperature for geese from 21 to 49 d of age is 18°C.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of anti-IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) in the treatment of allergic united airway disease (UAD) in the real-wold. Methods: Retrospective cohort study summarizes the case data of patients with allergic united airway disease who were treated with anti IgE monoclonal antibody (omalizumab) for more than 16 weeks from March 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022 in the Peking University First Hospital.The allergic UAD is defined as allergic asthma combined with allergic rhinitis (AA+AR) or allergic asthma combined with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps (AA+CRSwNP) or allergic asthma combined with allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps (AA+AR+CRSwNP). The control of asthma was evaluated by asthma control test (ACT), lung function test and fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO). The AR was assessed by total nasal symptom score (TNSS). The CRSwNP was evaluated by nasal visual analogue scale (n-VAS), sino-nasal outcome test-22 (SNOT-22), nasal polyps score (TPS) and Lund-Mackay sinus CT grading system. The global evaluation of omalizumab for the treatment of allergic UADwas performed by Global Evaluation of Treatment Effectiveness(GETE).The drug-related side effects were also recorded. Matched t test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to compare the score changes of IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) before and after treatment, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the influencing factors of IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) response. Results: A total of 117 patients with UAD were enrolled, ranging in age from 19 to 77 years; The median age of patients was 48.7 years; Among them, 60 were male, ranging from 19 to 77 years old, with a median age of 49.9 years; There were 57 females, ranging from 19 to 68 years old, with a median age of 47.2 years. There were 32 cases in AA+AR subgroup, 59 cases in AA+CRSwNP subgroup, and 26 cases in AA+AR+CRSwNP subgroup. The total serum IgE level was 190.5 (103.8,391.3) IU/ml. The treatment course of anti IgE monoclonal antibody was 24 (16, 32) weeks. Compared with pre-treatment, omalizumab increased ACT from 20.0 (19.5,22.0) to 24.0 (23.0,25.0) (Z=-8.537, P<0.001), increased pre-bronchodilator FEV1 from 90.2 (74.8,103.0)% predicted value to 95.4 (83.2,106.0)% predicted value (Z=-5.315,P<0.001), increased FEV1/FVC from 80.20 (66.83,88.38)% to 82.72 (71.26,92.25)% (Z=-4.483,P<0.001), decreased FeNO from(49.1±24.8) ppb to (32.8±24.4) ppb (t=5.235, P<0.001), decreased TNSS from (6.5±2.6)to (2.4±1.9) (t=14.171, P<0.001), decreased n-VAS from (6.8±1.2) to (3.4±2.0)(t=14.448, P<0.001), decreased SNOT-22 from (40.0±7.9) to (21.3±10.2)(t=15.360, P<0.001), decreased TPS from (4.1±0.8) to (2.4±1.0)(t=14.718, P<0.001) and decreased Lund-Mackay CT score from (6.0±1.3) to (3.1±1.6)(t=17.012, P<0.001). The global response rate to omalizumab was 67.5%(79/117). The response rate in AA+AR (90.6%,29/32) was significantly higher than that in AA+CRSwNP (61.0%,36/59) and AA+AR+CRSwNP (53.8%,14/26) subgroups (χ2=11.144,P=0.004). Only 4 patients (3.4%,4/117) had mild side effects. Conclusion: The real-world study showed favorable effectiveness and safety of anti-IgE monoclonal antibody for treatment of allergic UAD. To provide basis for preventing the progress and precise treatment of allergic UAD.

Abstract
In the traditional feeding pattern of geese, the feed trough will be placed on the ground for a long time and hurts the living environment. This research aimed to investigate the effect of 4 different feed trough positioning heights on growth performance, blood parameters, feed loss, water consumption, feeding environment, and behavior of geese and determine the optimal trough positioning height for 28 to 70-d geese. A total of one hundred ninty-two 28-d male Yuzhou white geese were allocated randomly to 4 groups with 6 replicate pens per group according to the trough positioning height (on the ground [D], one-third [L], two-thirds [M], and the same height of geese's beak above the ground [H], respectively). The results show that the growth performance and blood biochemical parameters have no significant difference among groups (P > 0.05). The average daily feed loss and water consumption presented the lowest value in group H (P < 0.01). The hygienic condition index of the feed and feed trough increased as trough positioning height. Feed from group H had a higher cleanliness score than other groups (P < 0.001). The count of microbes (total bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli) on the surface of the feed trough from group H was lower than other groups (P < 0.001). Geese from group H had shorter daily feeding and drinking time than other groups (P < 0.05). Overall, these data indicate the same trough positioning height with geese's beaks could lower feed loss, and water consumption and improve hygienic conditions without damage to growth performance and will be the optimal choice for geese.

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of stocking density on growth performance, feather quality, serum hormone, and intestinal development of geese from 1 to 14 d of age. A total of 450 one-day-old geese were randomly allotted to 45 battery cage (0.65 m × 0.62 m) pens according to 5 stocking densities (15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 birds/m2). The results showed that ADG and ADFI were reduced (P < 0.05) as stocking density increased from 15 to 35 birds/m2, but increasing stocking density did not influence (P > 0.05) feed conversion ratio (FCR) and body measurement traits. High stocking density significantly decreased (P < 0.05) the feather quality of back, thoracoabdominal, wing, and tail. No significant difference (P > 0.05) was found in serum concentration of adrenocorticotrophic hormone, cortisol, corticosterone, triiodothyronine, and thyroxine. The weight of cecum and intestine decreased (P < 0.05) as the stocking density increased. Increasing stocking density decreased (P < 0.05) jejunal villus height and villus height-to-crypt depth ratio, and increased (P < 0.05) jejunal crypt depth and ileal crypt depth in geese. Consequently, the high stocking density could depress the growth and impaired feather quality and intestinal development of geese. Under our experimental conditions, we recommend that the stocking density of geese from 1 to 14 d of age should not more than 20 birds/m2.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the skin damage, oxidative damage and DNA damage of welding workers caused by ultra violet. Methods: From 1 May to 30 June 2017, 125 welding workers were selected as the contact group, which was divided into 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10-year-working age groups with 25 workers in each group and 25 healthy volunteers as the control group. The workers in the contact group were investigated with questionnaires on the distribution and wearing of protective equipment; the subjects in the two groups were examined in dermatology, and the peripheral blood was collected to detect the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and DNA damage of mononuclear cells, and the influence of ultraviolet on the above indexes was analyzed. Results: The distribution rates of welding mask, dust mask and goggles were 100.0% (125/125) , 96.0% (120/125) , 98.4% (123/125) , respectively, and the distribution rates of welding gloves were 64.8% (81/125) ; the wearing rates of welding mask and goggles were 100.0% (125/125) , 90.4% (113/125) , and the wearing rates of dust mask and welding gloves were 89.6% (112/125) and 64.0% (80/125) , respectively. The acute skin injuries such as hand and face peeling and skin pruritus were serious in the 2-year-working age group, and the chronic skin injuries such as insensitive and numbness and verrucous vegetations were the main manifestations in the 10-year-working age group. Compared with the control group, T-AOC in peripheral blood of workers exposed to 6, 8 and 10 years decreased significantly, and DNA content in comet tail of workers exposed to various working years increased significantly (P<0.05) , while DNA content in comet tail increased with working years (F=1501.130, P<0.05) . Conclusion: UV welding can cause skin damage, reduce the antioxidant capacity of the body, and increase DNA damage with the increase of working age.

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of feeding frequency on growth performance, carcass traits, and apparent nutrient digestibility in geese from 28 to 70 D of age. In experiment 1, a total of 240 geese were distributed in a completely randomized design into 4 treatments and 6 replicates of 10 birds each. The treatments were free access to the feeder (ad libitum) and access to the feeder 3, 4, and 5 times daily. Geese fed 3 times daily had a lower (P < 0.05) BW, ADG, and ADFI and a higher (P = 0.064) feed conversion ratio (FCR) from 28 to 41 D of age compared with the other groups. Geese fed 4 times daily had a higher (P < 0.05) ADG and ADFI and a lower (P < 0.05) FCR from 42 to 55 D of age compared with ad libitum fed geese. Geese fed 3 times daily had a higher (P < 0.05) ADG from 56 to 69 D of age than geese fed ad libitum and 4 times daily. No differences (P > 0.05) in BW, ADFI, ADG, and FCR were observed between ad libitum and feeding frequency groups from 28 to 69 D of age. Carcass traits and gastrointestinal development were not affected (P > 0.05) by feeding frequency. In experiment 2, the apparent nutrient digestibility in geese from 71 to 77 D of age fed using different feeding frequencies was determined using the total fecal collection method. Feeding frequency did not affect (P > 0.05) the apparent digestibility of DM, CP, crude ash, calcium, phosphorous, or ether extract in geese. Our study demonstrates for the first time that compensatory growth can be gained by enhancing feed intake when a lower feeding frequency is imposed on geese. Both ad libitum feeding and fixed feeding frequency for 3 to 5 times daily are suitable for geese from 28 to 70 D of age to achieve optimum production.

Abstract
Objective: To explore whether the atrial septal defect(ASD) size, the type of occlusion umbrella selected, and the morphological changes after release of occlusion umbrella affect the headache symptoms of ASD patients after operation. Methods: A total of 567 ASD ptients, who underwent successful implantion with a single occlude from January 2014 to December 2017 in General Hospital of Northern Theater Command were enrolled. The patients were divided into symptomatic group and asymptomatic group according to the presence or absence of headache symptoms after occlusion. X-ray catheter calibration method was used to measure the diameter(d), thickness(L), maximum diameter of the left umbrella surface after release(D2) and the value of i (i = D2/L). Risk factors related to headache were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. linear regression analysis was used to detect the relationship between the type of occluder umbrella and ASD diameter in asymptomatic group. Results: A total of 567 patients with one occluder umbrella were included, and 148(26.1%) cases were male. The age was (34.4±19.4) years old. The follow-up time was (12.7±2.8) months. There were 51 cases in the symptomatic group and 516 cases in the asymptomatic group. In 29 patients who were treated by extending the course or increasing the dose of aspirin, the symptoms disappeared or improved. There was no significant difference in the maximum ASD diameter (TTE measured) and the size of occluder between the symptomatic group and asymptomatic group(both P>0.05). The value of d ((19.80±6.67)mm vs.(17.40±7.28) mm, P=0.041) D2 ((43.29±7.41)mm vs. (39.20±9.59)mm, P=0.013)and L((13.06±3.72)mm vs. (10.19±2.90) mm,P=0.025) of the symptomatic group were all higher than that of the asymptomatic group,while the i value was smaller((3.54±0.88)vs.(3.99±0.93),P=0.010). The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the value of L(OR=1.286,95%CI 1.176-1.406, P=0.002) and the value of i(OR=0.916,95%CI 0.867-0.968, P<0.001) were independent factors of headache symptoms in patients after ASD occlusion, while the value of d and the value of D2 were not independent factors (both P>0.05). Linear equations obtained from asymptomatic patients showed the size of occluder =1.121×the maximum ASD diameter of TTE measured +6.414. Conclusions: There is no correlation between the symptoms with the expanded diameter and the maximum diameter of left umbrella's surface after released. The Postoperative discomfort symptoms is significantly correlated to the thickness of the occluder and the value of i. It is suggested that headache could be induced by the oversized occlude, thus choosing the appropriate size of the occluder is essential to reduce the occurrence of postoperative headache symptoms. Increasing the size of occluder because of worrying about the abscission and removal of the occlude is unreasonable. The antiplatelet therapy should also be strengthened to reduce the occurrence of symptoms and improve the symptoms of the patients if the occluder's size is too large. This regression equation (The size of occluder =1.121 × the maximum ASD diameter of TTE measured +6.414) could be used as a reference for the suitable selection of ASD occluder.

Abstract
This study was done to understand the diel variation and factors influencing the hydrochemistry of the Lijing River in different seasons. This is a typical medium river located at Guilin City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, SW China. The Shengli site was selected for this study. Two-day monitoring work with a high resolution rate logger and high frequency sampling at 2 hour intervals was conducted at the Shengli site of the Lijiang River in summer and autumn separately. Physical and hydrogeochemical parameters including pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), water temperature (T), electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), isotopes, and other chemical parameters were examined. The results show that:① the physical and hydrochemical parameters[T, pH, DO, SIC, EC, p (CO2)] and major ions (HCO3-, Ca2+) at the Shengli site displayed regular diel variation during monitoring. The data for T, pH, DO, and SIC increased in daylight and decreased at night, while the data for Ca2+, HCO3-, EC, and p (CO2) decreased in daylight and increased at night. ② The diurnal changes of nutrient elements (SO42-, NO3-, Cl-, Na+, Mg2+, and K+) at the Shengli site were mainly controlled by photosynthesis and respiration of aquatic plants, and showed the trend of decrease in daylight and increase at night. Due to the influence of a flood in mid-August 2017, the amount of diurnal variation in the nutrient element levels in summer was less than that in autumn. ③ The δ13CDIC increased in daylight and decreased at night both in summer and autumn, reflecting the influences of photosynthesis and precipitation. Under the influence of different root systems, soil microbial respiration intensity, and seasonal variation of river hydrological factors, the δ13CDIC in summer was generally lighter than that in autumn, with average values of -10.08‰ and -8.90‰, respectively. ④ The daily average fixation amount of karst carbon sink caused by aquatic plants was calculated to be 2.12 mmol·L-1 and 0.94 mmol·L-1 for Autumn and Summer, respectively. To sum up, there is a higher efficiency of karst carbon sink caused by aquatic plants in Autumn than that in Summer.

Abstract
To investigate the factors influencing the spatial variability in soil respiration among different land use patterns in a karst non-karst interactive distribution area, field experiments were conducted in Maocun Village, Guilin. Soil respiration, δ13C-CO2 value, and relevant environment, vegetation, and soil factors were measured. The spatial variability in soil respiration and the relationship between soil respiration and these measured factors were examined. The results indicated that soil respiration rates ranged from 1.39 μmol·(m2·s)-1 to 5.31 μmol·(m2·s)-1, with the highest value being approximately 3.8 times the minimum. Soil respiration varied significantly among different land use patterns under different lithology zones. The soil respiration rate of the G2 pines in the same lithology area was 2.3 times higher than that in the orchard G1 point after the destruction of the forest. The soil respiration caused an increase in CO2 concentration in the atmosphere and a decrease in the δ13C-CO2 value; the relationship between the two could be described by an inverse proportional function. The study found that in mid-April, the average water heat condition was close to that of the entire year. The difference in soil organic carbon content caused by land use was a driving factor of the spatial variability in soil respiration. In all ecosystems studied, the relationship between soil respiration and soil organic carbon content and total nitrogen content could be described by a two-element linear regression equation and explained 92.8% of the spatial variability in soil respiration.

Abstract
Recently, the problem of indoor particulate matter pollution has received much attention. An increasing number of epidemiological studies show that the concentration of atmospheric particulate matter has a significant effect on human health, even at very low concentrations. Most of these investigations have relied upon outdoor particle concentrations as surrogates of human exposures. However, considering that the concentration distribution of the indoor particulate matter is largely dependent on the extent to which these particles penetrate the building and on the degree of suspension in the indoor air, human exposures to particles of outdoor origin may not be equal to outdoor particle concentration levels. Therefore, it is critical to understand the relationship between the particle concentrations found outdoors and those found in indoor micro-environments. In this study, experiments were conducted using a naturally ventilated office located in Qingdao, China. The indoor and outdoor particle concentrations were measured at the same time using an optical counter with four size ranges. The particle size distribution ranged from 0.3 to 2.5 μm, and the experimental period was from April to September, 2016. Based on the experimental data, the dynamic and mass balance model based on time was used to estimate the penetration rate and deposition rate at air exchange rates of 0.03-0.25 h-1. The values of the penetration rate and deposition velocity of indoor particles were determined to range from 0.45 to 0.82 h-1 and 1.71 to 2.82 m/h, respectively. In addition, the particulate pollution exposure in the indoor environment was analyzed to estimate the exposure hazard from indoor particulate matter pollution, which is important for human exposure to particles and associated health effects. The conclusions from this study can serve to provide a better understanding the dynamics and behaviors of airborne particle entering into buildings. And they will also highlight effective methods to reduce exposure to particles in office buildings.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of transcatheter closure of ruptured sinus of Valsava aneurysm(RSVA). Methods: A total of 33 RSVA patients underwent transcatheter closure from January 2006 to March 2017 in our hospital were included in this retrospective study. The RSVA was diagnosed by echocardiography.Different type of occluders were applied for transcatheter closure based on the aortography results. All the patients were followed up after the procedure. Results: The patients were (37.6±12.1) years old,and the male patients accounted for 78.8%(26 cases).RSVA from right coronary sinus was found in 25 patients,and draining chamber was right atrium in 13 cases, right ventricle in 12 cases. RSVA from noncoronary sinus was diagnosed in 8 patients,and the draining chamber was right atrium. Aortography defined the narrowest diameter at the rupture site was (6.4±1.7)mm. The ratio of Qp/Qs was 2.2±0.5,and the mean pressure of pulmonary artery was 24.0(21.2,33.7)mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa). One patient developed serious occluder related aortic regurgitation and underwent surgery, transcatheter closure was successfully performed in 32 patients. The success rate of transcatheter closure was 97.0%. Two types of device were used in the study including small-waist double-disk ventricular septal defect(VSD) occluders in 20 cases and patent ductus arteriosus(PDA) occluders in 12 cases. During a median follow-up of 73.5(28.3,89.5) months, there were no infective endocarditis, residual shunt, thrombosis, device displacement,serious aortic regurgitation, serious arrhythmia or death.At the last follow-up, the left atrial diameter((37.4±6.5) mm vs. (41.5±5.3)mm,P<0.01),right atrial diameter((42.4±3.0) mm vs. (48.5±6.0)mm,P<0.01), right ventricular diameter((22.2±3.8) mm vs. (27.7±7.2)mm,P<0.01) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter((51.3±4.9) mm vs.(55.0±4.3)mm,P<0.01)measured by echocardiography were all smaller than pre-procedural level. Conclusion: Transcatheter closure of RVSA is a safe and effective strategy and associated with a good long-term outcome.

Abstract
Cell migration plays a particular important role in the initiation and progression of many physical processes and pathological conditions such as tumor invasion and metastasis. Three-dimensional traction force microscopy (TFM) of high resolution and high accuracy is being developed in an effort to unveil the underlying mechanical process of cell migration in a vivo-like environment. Linear elasticity-based TFM (LETM) as a mainstream approach relies on the Green's function (that relates traction forces to matrix deformation), of which the inherent boundary conditions and geometry of the matrix could remarkably affect the result as suggested by previous 2D studies. In this study, we investigated this close linkage in 3D environment, via modeling of a cell sensing a close-by fixed boundary of a 3D matrix surrounding it, and comparing the reconstructed traction forces from three different solutions of the Green's function, including a fully matching solution derived using the adapted Mindlin's approach. To increase fidelity in the estimate of traction forces for extreme conditions such as a sparse sampling of deformation field or targeting small focal adhesions, we numerically solved the singularity problem of the Green's function in a non-conventional way to avoid exclusion of singular point regions that could contain representative deformation indicators for such extreme conditions. A single case experimental study was conducted for a multi-cellular structure of endothelial cells that just penetrated into the gel at the early stage of angiogenesis. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE This study focused on the fundamental issue regarding extension of linear elasticity-based TFM to deal with physically realistic matrices (where cells are encapsulated), which concerns determination of the Green's function matching their geometry and boundary conditions. To increase fidelity in the estimate of traction forces for extreme conditions such as a sparse sampling of deformation field or targeting small focal adhesions, we numerically solved the singularity problem of the Green's function to avoid exclusion of singular point regions that could contain representative deformation indicators for such extreme conditions. The proposed approach to adapting the Green's function for the specific 3D cell culture situation was examined in a single case experimental study of endothelial cells in sprouting angiogenesis.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the dynamics of antibody response in great gerbils infected with Yersinia pestis in experiment. Method: A total of 211 great gerbils were captured in the southern margin of plague natural focus of Junggar Basin of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2011. Among them, there were 167 great gerbils without infection of Y. pestis and 44 great gerbils infected by Y.pestis. Y.pestis No. 2504 was employed for this experimental strain, which was strong toxic strain with negativity in the reduction experiment of nitrate. 35 great gerbils without the infection of Y. pestis were divided randomly and averagely into 7 groups including 6 experimental groups and 1 control group. Great gerbils in the 1st to 6th experimental groups were exposed first with 1 × 10(6)-1 × 10(11) CFU/ml of bacterial fluid with 10 times of gradient dilution; groin areas of great gerbils in the control group were injected subcutaneously with physiological saline; and the amount of infection was all 1 ml. 17 great gerbils infected with Y. pestis and the first detection of F1-antibody titer in 1∶256-1∶4 096 were grouped according to F1-antibody titer: group 1∶4 096 (n=4), group 1∶2 048 (n=4), group 1∶1 024 (n=3), group 1∶512 (n=3) and group 1∶256 (n=3); and blood in caudal regions was collected in asepsis for the detection of F1-antibody, with a total of 5 times. 9 great gerbils which were selected from the remaining great gerbils infected with Y. pestis and detected F1-antibody negative 2 times were exposed 1×10(6) CFU/ml of bacterial fluid for the second infection, with the amount of infection being 1 ml. Blood in caudal regions of great gerbils after the first and second infection were collected for the detection of plague F1-antibody on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 15th, 30th, 60th, 90th and 120th day after infection. Declined regression models for great gerbils' antibodies were established with unary linear regression equation; declined change diagrams for the antibodies were drawn to observe the declined F1-antibody after great gerbils were exposed to Y. pestis. Results: In great gerbils with the first infection of Y. pestis, antibodies were detected in the 1 × 10(6)-1 × 10(8) CFU/ml of group on the 30th, 15th and 15th day, respectively; the positive rates of antibody were 1/4, 3/4 and 4/5, respectively; the group 1×10(7) and 1× 10(8) CFU/ml reached to the highest antibody titer with 1∶256 on the 120th day; antibodies were revealed in the group 1×10(9), 1×10(10) and 1×10(11) CFU/ml from the 5th to 7th day when the seroconversion of all antibodies was observed; group 1×10(11) CFU/ml reached to the highest antibody titer on the 120th day with 1∶4 096. In the great gerbils with the second exposure to Y.pestis, positive antibodies were detected on the 3rd day with the positive rate being 2/9; and the highest antibody titer with 1∶2 048 was noted on the 90th day. Unary linear regression equation of declined F1 antibody of great gerbils was y=0.045x- 0.321 (F=115.40, P< 0.001), and the shortest duration for F1-antibody titer declining from 1∶4 096 to 0 was 140 d and the longest duration 200 d. Conclusion: Great gerbils infected with the high concentration of Y. pestis fluid show shorter duration in producing F1-antibody, the antibody positive rate is also higher, and the highest antibody titer can reach 1∶4 096. The great gerbils could hold the plague F1 antibodies for a long time which was about 140 to 200 days from the highest titer.

Abstract
The poor egg-laying rate of geese hinders the development of the goose industry; therefore, the reproductive performance of geese is an important area of investigation. To evaluate the relationship between photoperiod, reproductive hormones, and reproductive activity during the egg-laying cycle in geese under natural conditions, we collected blood samples from Sichuan white geese and Xupu geese to quantify changes in prolactin (PRL), estradiol (E2), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone (GnIH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). We also calculated the rate of egg laying for the two populations during the egg-laying cycle. We show that the egg-laying rate and the serum concentration of some hormones (PRL, E2, VIP, FSH, GnIH, and LH) differed significantly between the two populations during the pre-laying, laying, and ceased-laying periods. Serum LH concentrations may be associated with maturation of the ovary and oviducts, whereas FSH, PRL, and GnIH play important roles in egg laying. These results provide a useful resource for future studies examining the laying rate in geese.

Abstract
Chicken meat quality is becoming increasingly important among breeders and consumers. To understand the effect of feeding conditions on chicken meat quality, we investigated the profiles of genes expressed in chicken breast muscle. Using RNA sequencing, we identified 336, 321, and 387 differentially expressed genes among Chengkou, Daninghe, and Qingjiaoma chickens under scatter- and captivity-feeding conditions. Twenty-two genes differentially expressed between different feeding conditions were shown to be common among the three breeds. Seven of these genes were assessed by real-time quantitative PCR, which confirmed the findings of RNA sequencing and suggested that the results were viable. The differentially expressed genes showed enrichment for a series of significant pathways, including energy metabolism, xenobiotics biodegradation and metabolism, and the immune system. These results provide a solid foundation for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying chicken meat quality.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of severe thrombocytopenia in patients underwent transcatheter patent ductus arteriosus occlusion. Methods: Clinical data of 80 pure patent ductus arteriosus patients who underwent interventional occlusion between February 2011 and November 2014 in General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region were retrospective analyzed.A bolus of heparin calcium (80 U/kg) was administered by intravenous injection during the procedure.Blood test was conducted in all patients before and after the procedure.The patients with both platelet reduction rate ≥ 5% and platelet count <100×109/L(severe thrombocytopenia) were treated by following strategies: bed rest, avoidance of activities, intensive control of blood pressure through sodium nitroprusside administration, and inhibition of presumed immunological reaction by glucocorticoids and human immunoglobulin administration.Follow-up ended in May 2015. Results: (1) A total of 54 cases (67.5%) were diagnosed as thrombocytopenia in second days after the procedure.The reduction rate of platelet in 41 out of 54 patients was equal or more than 5% on the second day, and the diameter of occludes were equal or more than 14 mm in 35 out of these 54 patients.Severe thrombocytopenia occurred in 14 patients and the occluder diameter was ≥ 14 mm in these 14 patients.Severe thrombocytopenia did not occur in patients with occlude diameter <14 mm or with reduction rate of platelet <5%.(2) A total of 14 severe thrombocytopenia patients were treated.No bleeding events occurred in hospital and during the whole follow-up period.The the lowest value of platelet count of patients was seen on the 4.5 (3.8, 6.0) days post the procedure.The lowest numbers were 16.5 (7.5, 37.3)×109/L.The platelet count of patients restored to more than 30×109/L on the 8.0 (4.8, 9.5) days and restore to more than 100×109/L on the 12.0 (9.8, 39.3) days post procedure.The average hospitalization day of the patients were 15.5 (11.8, 21.5) days.The platelet counts of severe thrombocytopenia patients were normal during the end of follow up (median 3.8 (1.0, 4.9) years). Conclusion: The patients with very severe thrombocytopenia after transcatheter occlusion of patent ductus arteriosus are associated with a benign outcome in case of timely and proper treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical features and treatment of chronic invasive fungal rhinosinusitis(CIFRS). METHODS From June 2006 to August 2011, seven patients were pathologically diagnosed as CIFRS in otorhinolaryngology department of Peking university first hospital and included in this study. The clinical records were reviewed. The clinical features, clinical course, symptoms, clinical signs, CT/MRI scan of the sinuses, surgical approach, postoperative pathology and medications were analyzed retrospectively. These 7 patients received both surgical and systemic anti-fungal treatment. Among them, 2 cases with characteristically clinical features were addressed into further analyses to explore the clinical feature and treatment of CIFRS. RESULTS Among the 7 patients, 5 were female and 2 were male. The course of diseases were from 2 months to 8 years. All patients had no systemic immune diseases and history of diabetes mellitus, while 1 case had a history of facial trauma, and another 1 case had received antibiotics for long-stay in bed after a car accident. The onset lesions of 6 cases were in unilateral maxillary sinus and 1 in unilateral ethmoid sinus. Aspergillus fungi were detected in 6 cases and mold fungi were detected in 1 case by pathology or fungal culture. After follow-up for 1-5 years, 6 patients were cured, and 1 was died. CONCLUSIONS CIFRS are often diagnosed in patients with normal immune function. Lesions alwasys occur in single sinus, and maxillary sinus is the most commonly involved.Aspergillus is the most common pathogens. Early clinical manifestation and sinus CT images are lack of specificity. Surgery associated with adequate antifungal treatment might be the best treatment strategy.

Abstract
To investigate the effects of feed condition and breed on the level of DNA methylation for the uncoupling protein 3 (UCP3) gene, which is an important candidate gene for regulating intramuscular fat (IMF) content in chicken breast muscle, breast muscle of Daninghe (DNH) and Qingjiaoma (QJM) chickens under scatter-feed and captivity-feed conditions was analyzed. Using RNA sequencing, 47 and 113 candidate genes were determined to be related to feed conditions and breed, respectively, and 7 differentially expressed genes were confirmed by real-time quantitative PCR, including UCP3. The mRNA levels of UCP3 were significantly different between the 2 feed conditions. The DNA region from bp +1700 to +2459 of the UCP3 gene was studied using the bisulfite sequencing method and contained 46 methylation sites and 3 CpG islands. The results showed that the methylation level of this UCP3 region was lower in DNH chickens (0.77% to 0.88%, P = 0.012) and QJM chickens (0.88% to 0.91%, P = 0.20) under scatter-feed conditions than under captivity-feed conditions. The mean methylation level of UCP3 in DNH chickens was lower than that in QJM chickens under scatter-feed conditions (DNH to QJM, 0.77% to 0.88%, P = 0.007), which suggests that breed affects the mean methylation level of UCP3 under scatter-feed conditions. In summary, our findings suggest that feed condition and breed affect the methylation of UCP3 in chicken breast muscle.

Abstract
The mild preparation of multifunctional nanocomposite hydrogels is of great importance for practical applications. We report that bioinorganic nanocomposite hydrogels, with calcium niobate nanosheets as cross-linkers, can be prepared by dual-enzyme-triggered polymerization and exfoliation of the layered composite. The layered HRP/calcium niobate composites (HRP=horseradish peroxidase) are formed by the assembly of the calcium niobate nanosheets with HRP. The dual-enzyme-triggered polymerization can induce the subsequent exfoliation of the layered composite and final gelation through the interaction between polymer chains and inorganic nanosheets. The self-immobilized HRP-GOx enzymes (GOx=glucose oxidase) within the nanocomposite hydrogel retain most of enzymatic activity. Evidently, their thermal stability and reusability can be improved. Notably, our strategy could be easily extended to other inorganic layered materials for the fabrication of other functional nanocomposite hydrogels.

Abstract
Geese are an economically important poultry species worldwide. Their superior meat production performance and meat qual-ity make them a popular food. However, they are not bred worldwide because their poor laying capacity increases farming costs. To gain a global view of the genes that are differentially expressed between pre-laying (P) and laying (L) periods and to develop a database for further studies, we performed large-scale transcriptome sequencing of ovarian tissue collected from Anser cygnoides. In total, 30,151,422 raw reads, with an average length of 151 bp and a total length of 4,552,864,722 bp, were obtained. After primers and adaptors were removed, 19,167,132 clean reads, with an average length of 134.5 bp and a total length of 2,577,297,281 bp, were obtained, among which 1,268,906,694 bp and 1,308,390,587 bp were from L and P ovarian tissue, respectively. The 16,605 assembled sequences were further functionally annotated by comparing their sequences to different protein and functional domain databases and assigning gene ontology (GO) terms. Of these, 511 as-sembled sequences were considered differentially expressed based on the 2-fold method, among which 396 were assigned at least one GO term. Digital expression analysis using the Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes annotation identified 121 genes that were differ-entially expressed in the P vs L periods. Five of these are of special interest for further investigation of their roles in determining high re-productive performance. This study provides valuable information and sequence resources for uncovering genes determining high egg-laying performance and for future functional genomics analysis of geese.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate gene expression in the chicken liver for lean and fat broiler lines. Birds used in this study were 2 and 4 weeks of age; they were derived from the 14th generation of Northeast Agricultural University broiler lines, which were divergently selected based on abdominal fat content. Chicken Genome Arrays were used to screen differentially expressed genes in the liver tissue from lean and fat birds. At 2 and 4 weeks of age, 770 and 452 genes were differentially expressed between the 2 lines, respectively. The differentially expressed genes were involved in Wnt, insulin signaling, and cell cycle pathways. At 2 and 4 weeks, 42 shared, differentially expressed genes were revealed by the analysis. We speculate that these genes might regulate chicken lipid metabolism.

Abstract
We have investigated the lasing characteristics of Tm:LSO crystal in three operation regimes: continuous wave (CW), wavelength tunable and passive Q-switching based on graphene. In CW regime, a maximum output power of 0.65 W at 2054.9 nm with a slope efficiency of 21% was achieved. With a quartz plate, a broad wavelength tunable range of 145 nm was obtained, corresponding to a FWHM of 100 nm. By using a graphene saturable absorber mirror, the passively Q-switched Tm:LSO laser produced pulses with duration of 7.8 μs at 2030.8 nm under a repetition rate of 7.6 kHz, corresponding to pulse energy of 14.0 μJ.

Abstract
Body weight and abdominal fat traits in meat-type chickens are complex and economically important factors. Our objective was to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) responsible for body weight and abdominal fat traits in broiler chickens. The Northeast Agricultural University Resource Population (NEAURP) is a cross between broiler sires and Baier layer dams. We measured body weight and abdominal fat traits in the F(2) population. A total of 362 F(2) individuals derived from four F(1) families and their parents and F(0) birds were genotyped using 29 fluorescent microsatellite markers located on chromosomes 3, 5 and 7. Linkage maps for the three chromosomes were constructed and interval mapping was performed to identify putative QTLs. Nine QTL for body weight were identified at the 5% genome-wide level, while 15 QTL were identified at the 5% chromosome-wide level. Phenotypic variance explained by these QTL varied from 2.95 to 6.03%. In particular, a QTL region spanning 31 cM, associated with body weight at 1 to 12 weeks of age and carcass weight at 12 weeks of age, was first identified on chromosome 5. Three QTLs for the abdominal fat traits were identified at the 5% chromosome-wide level. These QTLs explained 3.42 to 3.59% of the phenotypic variance. This information will help direct prospective fine mapping studies and can facilitate the identification of underlying genes and causal mutations for body weight and abdominal fat traits.

Abstract
Previously, a quantitative trait locus (QTL) that affects body weight (BW) at 4-12 weeks of age and carcass weight at 12 weeks of age had been mapped on chicken chromosome 1. After including more markers and individuals, the confidence interval was narrowed down to approximately 5.5 Mbps and located this QTL near a microsatellite marker (ADL328). This QTL is the same as the QTL for 12 bone traits, including metatarsus length and metatarsus circumference at 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks of age and keel length and metatarsus claw weight at 12 weeks of age, that was identified using the same population. In the current study, 1010 individuals from the Northeast Agricultural University F(2) resource population were used and 14 single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) around ADL328 were developed to construct haplotypes, and an association analysis was performed to fine-map the QTL. The haplotypes were constructed on the basis of a sliding 'window', with three SNP markers included in each 'window'. The association analysis results indicated that the haplotypes in 'windows' 6-12 were significantly associated with BW and bone traits and suggested that the QTL for BW and bone traits was located between SNP8 and SNP14 or was in linkage disequilibrium with this region. The interval from SNP8 to SNP14 was approximately 400 kbps. This region contained five RefSeq genes (RB1, P2RY5, FNDC3A, MLNR and CAB39L) on the University of California Santa Cruz website. The RB1 gene was selected as a candidate gene and five SNPs were identified in the gene. The association results indicated that the RB1 gene was a major gene for BW and bone traits. The SNPs g.39692 G>A and g.77260 A>G in RB1 gene might be two quantitative trait nucleotides for BW and bone traits.

Abstract
The injectable and hydrophilic nature of hydrogels makes them suitable candidates for cartilage tissue engineering. To date, a wide range of hydrogels have been proposed for articular cartilage regeneration but few studies have quantitatively compared chondrocyte behaviour and extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis within the hydrogels. Herein we have examined the nature of ECM synthesis by chondrocytes seeded into four hydrogels formed by either temperature change, self-assembly or chemical cross-linking. Bovine articular cartilage chondrocytes were cultured for 14 days in Extracel, Pluronic F127 blended with Type II collagen, Puramatrix and Matrixhyal. The discriminatory and sensitive technique of fluorophore-assisted carbohydrate electrophoresis (FACE) was used to determine the fine detail of the glycosaminoglycans (GAG); hyaluronan and chondroitin sulphate. FACE analysis for chondroitin sulphate and hyaluronan profiles in Puramatrix closely matched that of native cartilage. For each hydrogel, DNA content, viability and morphology were assessed. Total collagen and total sulphated GAG production were measured and normalised to DNA content. Significant differences were found in total collagen synthesis. By day 14, Extracel and Puramatrix had significantly more total collagen than Matrixhyal (1.77+/-0.26 microg and 1.97+/-0.26 microg vs. 0.60+/-0.26 microg; p<0.05). sGAG synthesis occurred in all hydrogels but a significantly higher amount of sGAG was retained within Extracel at days 7 and 14 (p<0.05). In summary, we have shown that the biochemical and biophysical characteristics of each hydrogel directly or indirectly influenced ECM formation. A detailed understanding of the ECM in the development of engineered constructs is an important step in monitoring the success of cartilage regeneration strategies.

Abstract
The insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) is essential for normal embryonic and postnatal growth in mammals. In this study, a total of 342 F(2) individuals, derived from Broiler crossing to Baier layer (Northeast Agricultural University Resource Population, NEAURP), were used to investigate the associations of haplotypes in the chicken IGF1 (cIGF1) gene with body weight traits. Primers for the 5'-flanking, exon 3 and 3'-flanking regions of cIGF1 were designed according to chicken genome database. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) between parental lines were detected by sequencing, and PCR restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and PCR single-stranded-conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) methods were used to genotype the SNPs in the population. Haplotypes were constructed with the three SNPs detected. The association analysis showed that haplotypes based on three cIGF1 polymorphisms (c.-366A>C, c.528G>A and c.*1024C>T) were associated with body weight traits, suggesting that cIGF1 or a tightly linked gene had effects on body weight in the chicken.

Abstract
In mammals, thyroid hormone responsive Spot14 (THRSP) is a small acidic protein that responds to thyroid hormone stimulation and, therefore, is thought to play a role in growth. The current study was designed to investigate the associations of Spot14alpha gene polymorphisms on chicken growth and body composition traits. The Northeast Agricultural University Resource Population (NEAURP) was used in the present study. The NEAURP was established by crossing broiler sires, derived from Northeast Agricultural University broiler lines divergently selected for abdominal fat content, with Baier layer dams, a local Chinese breed. The F(1) birds were intercrossed to produce the F(2) population. Body weight and body composition traits were measured in the F(2) population. Polymorphisms of the gene were detected between parental lines by DNA sequencing. Primers were designed according to the chicken Spot14alpha gene (AY568628). The PCR-RFLP and PCR-length polymorphisms methods were then developed to genotype polymorphisms in the NEAURP. The A213C and 9 bp insertion-deletion of the Spot14alpha gene in the F(2) population was found to be associated with BW, which implied that Spot14alpha gene or a tightly linked gene had an important effect on growth in the chicken.

Abstract
Insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 regulates a broad spectrum of biological activities involved in growth, development, and differentiation. The current study was designed to investigate the associations of IGFBP2 gene polymorphisms with chicken growth and body composition traits. The Northeast Agricultural University Resource Population (NEAURP) was established by crossing broiler sires, derived from lines at Northeast Agricultural University, that were divergently selected for abdominal fat, with Baier layer dams, a Chinese local breed. The F1 birds were inter-crossed to produce an F2 population. Body weight and body composition traits were measured in the NEAURP. The PCR primers for the intron 2 region of IGFBP2 were designed based on chicken genomic sequence. Nucleotide polymorphisms between parental lines were detected by DNA sequencing. A C/T SNP in intron 2 was detected, and PCR-RFLP methods were then developed to genotype the F2 individuals. The results showed that the IGFBP2 SNP was associated with multiple traits, including BW, metatarsus length, shank length, femur length, shank weight, femur weight, metatarsus claw weight, and abdominal fat weight in the 1,028 NEAURP F2 individuals. This research suggests that IGFBP2 or a tightly linked gene has broad effects on growth and development in the chicken.

Abstract
Capillary electrophoresis-based immunoassay (CEIA) is a developing analytical technique with a number of advantages over conventional immunoassay, such as reduced sample consumption, simpler procedure, easy simultaneous determination of multiple analytes, and short analysis time. However, there are still a number of technical issues that researchers on CEIA have to solve before the assay can be more widely used. These issues include method to improve the concentration sensitivity of the assay, requirement for robust separation strategy for different analytes, and method to increase the throughput of the assay. The approaches to solve these issues are reviewed. Several studies have been devoted to develop general separation strategies for CEIA, and to enhance the sensitivity of detection. The recent development of microchip-based CEIA is encouraging and is likely to address more drawbacks of CEIA, particularly on the throughput issue.

Abstract
Quail and pigeon PrP genes were cloned and sequenced. Like mammalian PrP genes, quail and pigeon genes are encoded by a single exon of a single copy gene in the genome. All of the structural features of mammalian PrP genes were found in the quail and pigeon PrP gene. Compared with the nucleotide sequences of mammalian PrP, they display generally 30% similarity. When compared with chicken PrP's DNA sequence, they show a higher homology (90%), and an even higher homology (99%) when compared to each other. A phylogenetic tree was constructed to trace the evolution of the prion gene in animals.

Abstract
This paper considers auto-tuning of simple lead-lag decoupler plus decentralized PI/PID controllers for effective control of two-input and two-output (TITO) processes. A new robust identification method from step tests is presented first for SISO processes and then sequentially applied to TITO processes. The resulting 1st-order plus dead-time model is used for decoupler design and the 2nd-order one is used for decentralized PID sequential tuning. The simulation is given for illustration of the proposed tuning.

Abstract
In this paper, a new design for Smith Predictor systems is presented. It employs a deliberately mismatched model to enhance performance over a perfectly matched system while using a simple primary controller. The design methodology is formulated in the frequency domain as an optimization problem and it turns out that an approximate solution can be obtained using the linear least squares method. To improve the performance further, a modified Smith Predictor system structure is also proposed, and it reduces the system into one involving second-order dynamics for the primary controller design. Illustrative simulation of several typical processes are included.

Abstract
A systematic study on the optimization of capillary electrophoresis-based immunoassay (CEIA) was performed using bovine serum albumin (BSA) and monoclonal anti-BSA. The immunocomplex could not be resolved from free BSA or anti-BSA with UV detection. When fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled BSA (FITC-BSA) was used as tracer, the free and bound FITC-BSA were well separated giving definite peaks with laser induced fluorescence detection. The factors affecting the separation of the free and bound FITC-BSA, including voltage, pH and ionic strength of the running buffer, were systematically analyzed. Competitive CEIAs were demonstrated in uncoated and coated capillaries with whole or Fab fragment of the antibody. The coefficient of variation for the quantification of BSA in coated capillary was less than that in uncoated capillary. This study demonstrated that competitive CEIA could be applied to quantify high-molecular-mass protein in biological fluids.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of the study was to investigate the potential of a chromatographic method which is based on elution gel chromatography (EGPC) in the study of solubilisation of drugs in micellar solutions. METHODS The EGPC method differs from conventional GPC in the use of a solution of the associating surfactant as eluent (rather than solvent) and the injection of a small volume of solution of different concentration (or alternatively injection of solvent alone) to probe the association equilibrium in the eluent. The technique was applied to a study of the solubilisation of selected drugs in aqueous micellar solutions of a triblock copolymer (Synperonic-PE F127) composed of oxyethylene [E, OCH2CH2] and oxypropylene [P, OCH2CH(CH3)] units with nominal molecular formula E98P67E98. RESULTS EGPC curves were obtained showing vacancy peaks at the elution volumes of the drugs, clearly demonstrating their solubilisation. In addition, the micelle-molecule equilibrium of the copolymer surfactant could be monitored at all times. Quantitative determination of the partition of solute between micelles and solvent phase was not possible due to the incomplete conversion of molecules to micelles in solutions of the selected copolymer. CONCLUSIONS The EGPC technique provides evidence for the solubilisation of the drugs in aqueous solutions of Synperonic F127; a more thorough assessment of its potential for quantitative measurement of solubilisation requires the use of a surfactant which is wholly (or at least mainly) in the micellar state under the conditions of use.
