Abstract
Background and purpose: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common serious complication in sepsis patients with a high mortality rate. This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for sepsis associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI). Methods: In our study, we retrospectively constructed a development cohort comprising 733 septic patients admitted to eight Grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai from January 2021 to October 2022. Additionally, we established an external validation cohort consisting of 336 septic patients admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019. Risk predictors were selected by LASSO regression, and a corresponding nomogram was constructed. We evaluated the model's discrimination, precision and clinical benefit through receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, calibration plots, decision curve analysis (DCA) and clinical impact curves (CIC) in both internal and external validation. Results: AKI incidence was 53.2% in the development cohort and 48.2% in the external validation cohort. The model included five independent indicators: chronic kidney disease stages 1 to 3, blood urea nitrogen, procalcitonin, D-dimer and creatine kinase isoenzyme. The AUC of the model in the development and validation cohorts was 0.914 (95% CI, 0.894-0.934) and 0.923 (95% CI, 0.895-0.952), respectively. The calibration plot, DCA, and CIC demonstrated the model's favorable clinical applicability. Conclusion: We developed and validated a robust nomogram model, which might identify patients at risk of SA-AKI and promising for clinical applications.

Abstract
PAR3/INSC/LGN form an evolutionarily conserved complex required for asymmetric cell division in the developing brain, but its post-developmental function and disease relevance in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) remains unknown. We mapped a new locus for axonal Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT2) and identified a missense mutation c.209 T > G (p.Met70Arg) in the INSC gene. Modeling the INSCM70R variant in Drosophila, we showed that it caused proprioceptive defects in adult flies, leading to gait defects resembling those in CMT2 patients. Cellularly, PAR3/INSC/LGN dysfunction caused tubulin aggregation and necrotic neurodegeneration, with microtubule-stabilizing agents rescuing both morphological and functional defects of the INSCM70R mutation in the PNS. Our findings underscore the critical role of the PAR3/INSC/LGN machinery in the adult PNS and highlight a potential therapeutic target for INSC-associated CMT2.

Abstract
Piezocatalytic hydrogen evolution is a promising strategy to generate sustainable energy. In this report, nitrogen-doped (N-doped) TiO2@ carbon nanosheets (N-TiO2@C NSs) was successfully synthesized using C3N4 as a multifunctional template. During the synthesis, the two-dimensional (2D) architecture of C3N4 nanosheets directed the synthesis of TiO2 nanosheets. In addition, nitrogens of C3N4 were doped into the TiO2 lattice. Simultaneously, C3N4 was transformed into N-doped carbon nanosheets. N doping broke the crystal symmetry of TiO2, which endowed TiO2 with promising piezoelectric properties. The N-doped carbon nanosheets derived from C3N4 improved charge carrier separation efficiency and served as a flexible support to inhibit structural damage under sonication. Therefore, the N-TiO2@C NSs exhibited highly efficient activity for piezocatalytic H2 production (6.4 mmol·g-1·h-1) in the presence of methanol, much higher than those of the previously reported piezocatalysts. Our method is hoped to provide a new strategy for designing highly efficient piezocatalysts.

Abstract
Whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder are suitable for different groups of people due to their differences in composition. Therefore, a rapid classification method for whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder is urgently needed. In this paper, a novel strategy based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and feature processing methods combined with logistic regression (LR) was constructed for the classification of milk powder. A LR classification model based on mini-batch gradient descent (MGD) was employed first. As indicated by the research results, the accuracy of the MGD-LR model for the milk powder samples in the test set is 96.33% and the modeling time is 33.07 s. The modeling efficiency is low and needs to be improved. Principal components analysis (PCA) and mutual information (MI) were used as feature processing methods to reduce the high dimensional LIBS data into fewer features for improving the modeling efficiency of the classification model. The research results indicate that the accuracy of the PCA-MGD-LR model and the MI-MGD-LR model for the test set of milk powder samples was 99.33% and 99.67%, respectively. Compared with MGD-LR model, the modeling efficiency of PCA-MGD-LR and MI-MGD-LR models has increased by 89.7% and 74.8%, respectively. The results fully demonstrate the feasibility of rapid milk powder classification based on LIBS and feature processing methods combined with LR, and it will provide a new technology for the identification and classification of milk powder.

Abstract
Directional emission of electromagnetic waves plays an essential role in laser radar and free-space communication. For most directional antennas, bandwidth and miniaturization are a pair of contradictions due to their underlying interference mechanism. Connection-type metamaterials exhibit exotic electromagnetic response near zero-frequency, which relies on the global topology of mesh connectivity rather than resonance and thus has a broad working bandwidth. In this Letter, we investigate the broadband orientation-dependent coupling effect of a 3D double mesh metamaterial. Based on this effect, we achieve a broadband directional emission (relative bandwidth of 37.72%) using a compact structure (compared to twice working wavelength). Our work provides a novel, to the best of our knowledge, scheme to manipulate a long-wavelength wave and may pave the way to a miniaturized directional antenna.

Abstract
Due to their high wavelength selectivity and strong anti-interference capability, solar-blind UV photodetectors hold broad and important application prospects in fields like flame detection, missile warnings, and secure communication. Research on solar-blind UV detectors for amorphous Ga2O3 is still in its early stages. The presence of intrinsic defects related to oxygen vacancies significantly affects the photodetection performance of amorphous Ga2O3 materials. This paper focuses on growing high quality amorphous Ga2O3 films on silicon substrates through atomic layer deposition. The study investigates the impact of annealing atmospheres on Ga2O3 films and designs a blind UV detector for Ga2O3. Characterization techniques including atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are used for Ga2O3 film analysis. Ga2O3 films exhibit a clear transition from amorphous to polycrystalline after annealing, accompanied by a decrease in oxygen vacancy concentration from 21.26% to 6.54%. As a result, the response time of the annealed detector reduces from 9.32 s to 0.47 s at an external bias of 10 V. This work demonstrates that an appropriate annealing process can yield high-quality Ga2O3 films, and holds potential for advancing high-performance solar blind photodetector (SBPD) development.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) C promoter (Cp) hypermethylation, a crucial factor for EBV latent infection of nasopharyngeal epithelial cells, has been recognized as a promising biomarker for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) detection. In this study, we develop a novel EBV Cp methylation quantification (E-CpMQ) assay and evaluate its diagnostic performance for NPC detection. METHODS A novel qPCR assay for simultaneous quantification of methylated- and unmethylated EBV Cp was developed by the combinational modification of MethyLight and QASM, with an innovative calibrator to improve the detection accuracy and consistency. The NP swab samples and synthetic standards were used for the analytical validation of the E-CpMQ. The diagnostic efficacy of the developed E-CpMQ assay was validated in 137 NPC patients and 137 non-NPC controls. RESULTS The E-CpMQ assay can detect the EBV Cp methylation ratio in one reaction system under 10 copies with 100 % recognition specificity, which is highly correlated to pyrosequencing with a correlation coefficient over 0.99. The calibrated E-CpMQ assay reduces the coefficient of variation by an average of 55.5 % with a total variance of less than 0.06 units standard deviation (SD). Linear methylation ratio detection range from 4.76 to 99.01 %. The sensitivity and specificity of the E-CpMQ respectively are 96.4 % (95 % CI: 91.7-98.8 %), 89.8 % (95 % CI: 83.5-94.3 %). CONCLUSIONS The developed E-CpMQ assay with a calibrator enables accurate and reproducible EBV Cp methylation ratio quantification and offers a sensitive, specific, cost-effective method for NPC early detection.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the characteristics of bacterial meningitis after pediatric neurosurgical procedures. Methods: This was a retrospective observational study. From January 2016 to December 2022, 64 children diagnosed with post-neurosurgical bacterial meningitis based on positive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) culture in Department of Neurosurgery of Shanghai Children's Medical Center were selected as the study population. The clinical characteristics, onset time, routine biochemical indexes of cerebrospinal fluid before anti infection treatment, bacteriology characteristics and sensitivity to antibiotics of bacteria cultured from cerebrospinal fluid were analyzed. Based on the CSF culture results, the patients were divided into the Gram-positive bacteria infection group and the Gram-negative bacteria infection group. The clinical characteristics of the two groups were compared using t-tests or Wilcoxon rank-sum tests, and chi-square tests. Results: There were 64 children,42 boys and 22 girls, with onset age of 0.83 (0.50, 1.75) years. Seventy cases of post-neurosurgical bacterial meningitis occurred in the 64 children, of which 15 cases (21%) in spring, 23 cases (33%) in summer, 19 cases (27%) in autumn, and 13 cases (19%) in winter. The time of onset was 3.5 (1.0, 10.0) months after surgery; 15 cases (21%) occurred within the first month after the surgery, and 55 cases (79%) occurred after the first month. There were 38 cases (59%) showing obvious abnormal clinical manifestations, fever 36 cases (56%), vomiting 11 cases (17%). Forty-eight cases (69%) were caused by Gram-positive bacteria, with Staphylococcus epidermidis 24 cases; 22 cases (31%) were caused by Gram-negative bacteria, with Acinetobacter baumannii the prominent pathogen 7 cases. The Gram-positive bacterial infection was more common in summer than the Gram-negative bacterial infection (20 cases (42%) vs. 3 cases (14%), χ2=5.37, P=0.020), while the Gram-negative bacterial infection was more in autumn and within the first month after surgery than the Gram-positive bacterial infection (11 cases (50%) vs. 8 cases (17%), 15 cases (67%) vs. 5 cases (33%), χ2=8.48, 9.02; P=0.004, 0.003). Gram-positive bacteria resistant to vancomycin and Acinetobacter baumannii resistant to polymyxin were not found. However, Acinetobacter baumannii showed only 45% (10/22) susceptibility to carbapenem antibiotics. Conclusions: The clinical presentation of post-neurosurgical bacterial meningitis in children is atypical. Gram-positive bacteria are the main pathogens causing post-neurosurgical bacterial meningitis; Gram-negative bacterial meningitis are more likely to occur in autumn and within the first month after surgery. Acinetobacter baumannii has a high resistance rate to carbapenem antibiotics, which should be taken seriously.

Abstract
Chern insulators have been generalized to many classical wave systems and thereby lead to many potential applications such as robust waveguides, quantum computation and high-performance lasers. However, the band structure of a material can be either topologically trivial or non-trivial, depending on how the crystal structure is designed. Here, we propose a second Chern crystal in a four-dimensional parameter space by introducing two extra synthetic translation dimensions. Since the topology of the bulk bands in the synthetic translation space is intrinsically non-trivial, our proposed four-dimensional crystal is guaranteed to be topologically non-trivial regardless of the crystal's detailed configuration. We derive the topologically protected modes on the lower dimensional boundaries of such a crystal via dimension reduction. Remarkably, we observe the one-dimensional gapless dislocation modes and confirm their robustness in experiments. Our findings provide novel perspectives on topologically non-trivial crystals and may inspire designs of classical wave devices.

Abstract
The separation and especially the removal of morpholine (MOR) impurities from N-ethyl morpholine (NEM) is of great significance in the fine chemical industry. Herein, we offer a novel strategy for the selective adsorption of MOR over NEM by tetralactam solids. The adsorbent realized the purification of NEM by adsorbing traces of MOR impurities, such that the purity can be improved from around 98% to over 99.5%. Single crystal structures indicate that N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding interactions are essential in the selective separation.

Abstract
We wished to establish an expert consensus on late stage of critical care (CC) management. The panel comprised 13 experts in CC medicine. Each statement was assessed based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) principle. Then, the Delphi method was adopted by 17 experts to reassess the following 28 statements. (1) ESCAPE has evolved from a strategy of delirium management to a strategy of late stage of CC management. (2) The new version of ESCAPE is a strategy for optimizing treatment and comprehensive care of critically ill patients (CIPs) after the rescue period, including early mobilization, early rehabilitation, nutritional support, sleep management, mental assessment, cognitive-function training, emotional support, and optimizing sedation and analgesia. (3) Disease assessment to determine the starting point of early mobilization, early rehabilitation, and early enteral nutrition. (4) Early mobilization has synergistic effects upon the recovery of organ function. (5) Early functional exercise and rehabilitation are important means to promote CIP recovery, and gives them a sense of future prospects. (6) Timely start of enteral nutrition is conducive to early mobilization and early rehabilitation. (7) The spontaneous breathing test should be started as soon as possible, and a weaning plan should be selected step-by-step. (8) The waking process of CIPs should be realized in a planned and purposeful way. (9) Establishment of a sleep-wake rhythm is the key to sleep management in post-CC management. (10) The spontaneous awakening trial, spontaneous breathing trial, and sleep management should be carried out together. (11) The depth of sedation should be adjusted dynamically in the late stage of CC period. (12) Standardized sedation assessment is the premise of rational sedation. (13) Appropriate sedative drugs should be selected according to the objectives of sedation and drug characteristics. (14) A goal-directed minimization strategy for sedation should be implemented. (15) The principle of analgesia must be mastered first. (16) Subjective assessment is preferred for analgesia assessment. (17) Opioid-based analgesic strategies should be selected step-by-step according to the characteristics of different drugs. (18) There must be rational use of non-opioid analgesics and non-drug-based analgesic measures. (19) Pay attention to evaluation of the psychological status of CIPs. (20) Cognitive function in CIPs cannot be ignored. (21) Delirium management should be based on non-drug-based measures and rational use of drugs. (22) Reset treatment can be considered for severe delirium. (23) Psychological assessment should be conducted as early as possible to screen-out high-risk groups with post-traumatic stress disorder. (24) Emotional support, flexible visiting, and environment management are important components of humanistic management in the intensive care unit (ICU). (25) Emotional support from medical teams and families should be promoted through"ICU diaries"and other forms. (26) Environmental management should be carried out by enriching environmental content, limiting environmental interference, and optimizing the environmental atmosphere. (27) Reasonable promotion of flexible visitation should be done on the basis of prevention of nosocomial infection. (28) ESCAPE is an excellent project for late stage of CC management.

Abstract
Besides chiral edge states, the hallmark of quantum Hall insulators, antichiral edge states can exhibit unidirectional transport behavior but in topological semimetals. Although such edge states provide more flexibility for molding the flow of light, their realization usually suffers from time-reversal breaking. In this study, we propose the realization of antichiral surface states in a time-reversal-invariant manner and demonstrate our idea with a three-dimensional (3D) photonic metacrystal. Our system is a photonic semimetal possessing two asymmetrically dispersed Dirac nodal lines. Via dimension reduction, the nodal lines are rendered a pair of offset Dirac points. By introducing synthetic gauge flux, each two-dimensional (2D) subsystem with nonzero kz is analogous to a modified Haldane model, yielding a kz-dependent antichiral surface transport. Through microwave experiments, the bulk dispersion with asymmetric nodal lines and associated twisted ribbon surface states are demonstrated in our 3D time-reversal-invariant system. Although our idea is demonstrated in a photonic system, we propose a general approach to realize antichiral edge states in time-reversal-invariant systems. This approach can be easily extended to systems beyond photonics and may pave the way for further applications of antichiral transport.

Abstract
Hypertension is a significant risk factor of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) with high prevalence worldwide, the current treatment has multiple adverse effects and requires continuous administration. The glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonists have shown great potential in treating diabetes mellitus, neurodegenerative diseases, obesity and hypertension. Butyric acid is a potential target in treating hypertension. Yet, the application of GLP-1 analogue and butyric acid in reducing blood pressure and reversing ventricular hypertrophy remains untapped. In this study, we combined the therapeutic capability of GLP-1 and butyric acid by transforming Clostridium butyricum (CB) with recombinant plasmid pMTL007 encoded with hGLP gene to construct the engineered probiotics Clostridium butyricum-pMTL007-GLP-1 (CB-GLP-1). We used spontaneous hypertensive rat (SHR) models to evaluate the positive effect of this strain in treating hypertension. The results revealed that the intragastric administration of CB-GLP-1 had markedly reduced blood pressure and improved cardiac marker ACE2, AT2R, AT1R, ANP, BNP, β-MHC, α-SMA and activating AMPK/mTOR/p70S6K/4EBP1 signalling pathway. The high-throughput sequencing further demonstrated that CB-GLP-1 treatments significantly improved the dysbiosis in the SHR rats via downregulating the relative abundance of Porphyromonadaceae at the family level and upregulating Lactobacillus at the genus level. Hence, we concluded that the CB-GLP-1 greatly improves blood pressure and cardiomegaly by restoring the gut microbiome and reducing ventricular hypertrophy in rat models. This is the first time using engineered CB in treating hypertension, which provides a new idea for the clinical treatment of hypertension.

Abstract
Thorium oxide has many important applications in industry. In this article, theoretical calculations have been carried out to explore the hydrolysis reactions of the ThOn (n=1-3) clusters. The reaction mechanisms of the O-deficient ThO and the O-rich ThO3 are compared with the stoichiometric ThO2 . The theoretical results show good agreement with the prior experiments. It is shown that the hydrolysis mainly occurred on the singlet potential surface. The overall reactions consist of two hydrolysis steps which are all favourable in energy. The effects of oxygen content on the hydrolysis are elucidated. Interestingly, among them, the peroxo group O2 2- in ThO3 is converted to the HOO- ligand, behaving like the terminal O2- in the hydrolysis which is transformed into the HO- groups. In addition, natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses were employed to further understand the bonding of the pertinent species and to interpret the differences in hydrolysis.

Abstract
Objective: To identify the status and determinants of sharing personal HIV information with sexual partners among men who have sex with men (MSM) meeting their casual sexual partners on the internet. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in five cities (Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou and Shaoxing) in Zhejiang province. The recruitment was enrolled by MSM social organization and in voluntary counseling and testing clinics, with a sample size of 793. A self-designed network questionnaire collected essential characteristics, HIV knowledge, sexual behavior, and sharing personal HIV status. SPSS 20.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: Among 767 MSM enrolled 302 MSM who reported finding casual sexual partners on the internet were enrolled in the analysis. MSM reported finding casual partners on the internet only, finding sexual partners online and in places were 62.6% (189/302) and 37.4% (113/302), respectively. Among those reporting web-based sexual behavior in the last six months, 54.6% (165/302) informed their partners of their HIV status, 49.2% (146/297) inquired about HIV status, and 42.9% (82/191) knew HIV status before sex intercourse, 75.8% (113/149) reported consistent condom use with HIV negative partners. The multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that related factors of inconsistent inquired HIV status of partners included 25-34 years old (aOR=2.17, 95%CI: 1.20-3.91), >2 partners on the internet in the last six months (aOR=2.13, 95%CI: 1.27-3.57), low-risk perception of HIV infection with online partners (aOR=1.96, 95%CI:1.14-3.35), numbers of HIV testing >1 times (aOR=0.38, 95%CI: 0.22-0.66). Conclusions: The willingness to know the HIV status of partners among MSM who met sexual partners on the internet was high but with a low rate of knowing their sex partner's HIV status in Zhejiang province. However, the successful implementation proportion was low. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to people who are elderly, with less conscience about the risk of the sex partners on the internet, have more sex partners, and have received few HIV tests. In addition, peer education was needed to promote related intervention programs.

Abstract
Gemcitabine resistance (GR) in pancreatic cancer (PC) results in poor patient outcomes. SMAD family member (Smad4) dysregulation is a significant role of GR in PC, and EZH2 is involved in Smad4 expression in tumor progression. Interestingly, lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 16 (SNHG16) might interact with EZH2, indicating a potential pathway to overcome gemcitabine-resistant PC progression. We investigated the role of the SNHG16/EZH2/Smad4 pathway in gemcitabine-resistant PC cells (PANC-1/GR and SW1990/GR). First, we found that SNHG16 was upregulated both in wild-type PC cells and in gemcitabine-resistant PC cells. SNHG16 overexpression reduced gemcitabine cytotoxicity and apoptosis in PC cells. Meanwhile, SNHG16 upregulation caused p-Akt elevation and Smad4 reduction. However, SNHG16 silencing induced the opposite trend. Then, we found that EZH2 was enriched in SNHG16 based on RIP and RNA pulldown. In particular, SNHG16 overexpression promoted the interaction between EZH2 and the Smad4 promoter according to Chromatin immunoprecipitation-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Finally, both EZH2 inhibition and Smad4 upregulation increased gemcitabine cytotoxicity and apoptosis in PC cells during SNHG16 overexpression. Moreover, both treatments decreased p-Akt and increased Smad4. Collectively, lncRNA SNHG16 decreased Smad4 to induce GR in PC via EZH2-mediated epigenetic modification.

Abstract
A new visible imaging system characterizing a flexible optical design and delivering high resolution frames is established on the HL-2A tokamak. It features a modular configuration, consisting of a front-end imaging lens, a set of bilateral telecentric relay lenses, and a camera. To avoid the effects of plasma radiation (x and gamma-rays) and magnetic field variation on the camera, it should be away from the coils. Therefore, the length of the relay lenses determines the total size of the imaging system. The main feature of this imaging system is to realize the variation of field of view (FOV) by interchanging the front-end prime lenses or by using a zoom lens directly rather than designing the optical system afresh, which lowers the cost drastically. The primary purpose of varying FOV is to enrich the versatility of this system, i.e., focusing on a narrow FOV such as gas puff imaging or a wide FOV such as the plasma cross sections. During the HL-2A experiments, this visible imaging system is used to provide high quality pictures of the plasma-wall interaction, divertor detachment, pellet injections, and so on. The frames confirmed that a strong radiation close to the X point is correlated with the completely detached inner target.

Using reverse micelles as nanoreactors, the Pd/ZIF-8 nanocomposite with a uniform size distribution is obtained. It is revealed that Pd(II) can selectively coordinate with the (100) plane of ZIF-8. As a result, the morphology of ZIF-8 is transformed from rhombic dodecahedral to cubic. After hydrogen treatment, the as-obtained Pd NPs/ZIF-8 nanocubes show efficient catalytic activity for nitrobenzene hydrogenation, which is higher than that of the commercially available Pd/C catalyst.

Abstract
In periodic systems, nodal lines are loops in the three-dimensional momentum space with each point on them representing a band degeneracy. Nodal lines exhibit rich topological features, as they can take various configurations such as rings, links, chains, and knots. These line nodes are generally protected by mirror or PT symmetry and frequently accompanied by drumhead surface states. Here, we propose and demonstrate a novel type of photonic straight nodal lines in a D_{2D} metacrystal, which are protected by an unusual rotoinversion time (roto-PT) symmetry. These nodal lines are located at the central axis and hinges of the Brillouin zone. They appear as quadrupole sources of Berry curvature flux in contrast to the Weyl points, which are monopoles. Interestingly, topological surface states exist at all three cutting surfaces, as guaranteed by π-quantized Zak phases along all three directions. As frequency changes, the surface state equifrequency contours evolve from closed to open and become straight lines at a critical transition frequency, at which diffractionless surface wave propagations are experimentally demonstrated, paving the way toward development of superimaging topological devices.

Abstract
Tracing evolutionary history proves challenging for polyploid groups that have evolved rapidly, especially if an ancestor of a polyploid is extinct. The Ns-containing polyploids are recognized as the NsXm and StHNsXm genomic constitutions in Triticeae. The Ns originated from Psathyrostachys, while the Xm represented a genome of unknown origin. Here, we use genetic information in plastome to trace the complex lineage history of the Ns-containing polyploid species by sampling 26 polyploids and 90 diploid taxa representing 23 basic genomes in Triticeae. Phylogenetic reconstruction, cluster plot of genetic distance matrix, and migration event demonstrated that (1) the Ns plastome originated from different Psathyrostachys species, and the Xm plastome may originate from an ancestral lineage of Henrardia, Agropyron, and Eremopyrum; (2) the Ns, Xm, and St genome donors separately served as the maternal parents during the speciation of the Ns-containing polyploid species, resulting in a maternal haplotype polymorphism; (3) North AmericanLeymusspecies might originate from colonization during late Miocene via the Bering land bridge and were the paternal donor of the StHNsXm genome Pascopyrum species. Our results shed new light on our understanding of the rich diversity and ecological adaptation of the Ns-containing polyploid species.

Abstract
Background Existing scoring systems have limitations in predicting the in-hospital mortality of adult sepsis patients. We aimed to develop and validate a novel risk score for predicting the in-hospital mortality of adult sepsis patients. Methods The clinical data of 1,335 adult sepsis inpatients were retrospectively analyzed. Enrolled patients were randomly divided into a modeling group and a validation group at a 3:2 ratio. The modeling group (n=801) was used to develop the risk score by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. The score’s performance was validated in the validation group (n=534). We classified patients into four risk levels according to the novel risk score. Results Age, central vein catheterization, mechanical ventilation, vasopressin, Charlson comorbidity index (CCI), respiratory rate (RR), heart rate (HR), Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score, platelet (PLT), hematocrit (HCT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and activated partial thrombin time (APTT) were independent risk factors for in-hospital death in adult sepsis patients. Continuous variables were converted into classified variables to develop the risk score, with a total score of 39 points. Adult sepsis patients with low, lower medium, higher medium, and high risk levels had in-hospital mortality rates of 9.8%, 24.7%, 55.8%, and 83.5%, respectively. Conclusions Compared with the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scoring system (APACHE II) and the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS), the novel risk score showed good predictive performance for in-hospital mortality in adult sepsis patients.

Abstract
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is one of the risk factors of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and understanding the modifiable risk factors of EBV activation is crucial in the prevention of NPC. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between solid fuel use and EBV seropositivity in a high-risk area of NPC. Our study was based on the baseline findings from an ongoing population-based prospective cohort in Sihui county in Southern China. We explored the association between current use of solid fuel in cooking and EBV seropositivity, and NPC-related EBV activation, using logistic regression models. Stratification analyses were further conducted to assess potential effect modifiers. We also examined the impact of frequency and duration of solid fuel use, and switch in fuel types, on EBV seropositivity among ever users. Of the 12,579 participants included in our analysis, 4088 (32.5%) were EBV seropositive and 421 (3.3%) were high risk for NPC-related EBV activation. Solid fuel use was associated with a higher risk of EBV seropositivity and NPC-related EBV activation, with odds ratios (ORs) of 1.33 (95%CI: 1.01, 1.76) and 1.81 (95%CI: 1.03, 3.18), respectively. Higher risk of EBV seropositivity was observed for those who did not use ventilation apparatus and those who consumed salted food. Among ever users, OR was highest for participants with more than 40 years of solid fuel exposure (1.17, 95%CI: 1.00-1.37) and who have been constantly using solid fuel (1.30, 95%CI: 0.96-1.75). We did not find a statistically significant impact of cooking frequency on EBV seropositivity. The identification of solid fuel as a risk factor for EBV activation is of great value for understanding the etiology of NPC. Our findings also have important public health implications given the fact that a third of the global population still lack access to clean cooking, especially in low resource settings.

Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) artificial metacrystals host rich topological phases, such as Weyl points, nodal rings, and 3D photonic topological insulators. These topological states enable a wide range of applications, including 3D robust waveguides, one-way fiber, and negative refraction of the surface wave. However, these carefully designed metacrystals are usually very complex, hindering their extension to nanoscale photonic systems. Here, we theoretically proposed and experimentally realized an ideal nodal ring in the visible region using a simple 1D photonic crystal. The π-Berry phase around the ring is manifested by a 2π reflection phase's winding and the resultant drumhead surface states. By breaking the inversion symmetry, the nodal ring can be gapped and the π-Berry phase would diffuse into a toroidal-shaped Berry flux, resulting in photonic ridge states (the 3D extension of quantum valley Hall states). Our results provide a simple and feasible platform for exploring 3D topological physics and its potential applications in nanophotonics.

She takes the advantages of shallow needling technique of acupuncture in treatment of various diseases, e.g. exogenous disease, initial onset of disorder, chronic bi disorder, intractable diseases, disorder of yang nature, disorder of heat nature, thin body, pediatric diseases, disorders on the unilateral side of the body and acute diseases. Besides in compliance with classics, she has broadened the application scope of shallow needling technique of acupuncture and improved the clinical therapeutic effect.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of transient elastography, aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index (APRI), and fibrosis index based on 4 factors (FIB-4) for liver fibrosis in children with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 100 cases of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in Hunan Children's Hospital between August 2015 to October 2020 to collect liver tissue pathological and clinical data. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) was used to analyze the diagnostic value of liver stiffness measurement (LSM), APRI and FIB-4 in the diagnosis of different stages of liver fibrosis caused by NAFLD in children. Results: The area under the ROC curve (AUC) value of LSM, APRI and FIB-4 for diagnosing liver fibrosis (S≥1) were 0.701 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.579 ~ 0.822, P = 0.011], 0.606 (95%CI: 0.436 ~ 0.775, P = 0.182), and 0.568 (95%CI: 0.397 ~ 0.740, P = 0.387), respectively. The best cut-off values were 6.65 kPa, 21.20, and 0.18, respectively. The AUCs value of LSM, APRI, and FIB-4 for diagnosing significant liver fibrosis (S≥ 2) were 0.660 (95% CI: 0.552 ~ 0.768, P = 0.006), 0.578 (95% CI: 0.464 ~ 0.691, P = 0.182) and 0.541 (95% CI: 0.427 ~ 0.655, P = 0.482), respectively. The best cut-off values were 7.35kpa, 24.78 and 0.22, respectively. The AUCs value of LSM, APRI and FIB-4 for the diagnosis of advanced liver fibrosis (S≥ 3) were 0.639 (95% CI: 0.446 ~ 0.832, P = 0.134), 0.613 (95% CI: 0.447 ~ 0.779, P = 0.223) and 0.587 (95% CI: 0.411 ~ 0.764, P = 0.346), respectively. The best cut-off values were 8.55kpa, 26.66 and 0.27, respectively. Conclusion: The transient elastography technique has a better diagnostic value than APRI and FIB-4 for liver fibrosis in children with NAFLD.

Abstract
Selective hydrogenation plays an important role in the chemical industry and has a wide range of applications, including the production of fine chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceutical synthesis, healthcare product development, and the synthesis of agrochemicals. Pd-based catalysts have been widely applied for selective hydrogenation due to their unique electronic structure and ability to adsorb and activate hydrogen and unsaturated substrates. However, the exclusive and comprehensive summarization of the size, composition, and surface and interface effect of metal Pd on the performance for selective hydrogenation is still lacking. In this perspective, the research progress on selective hydrogenation using Pd-based catalysts is summarized. The strategies for improving the catalytic hydrogenation performance over Pd-based catalysts are investigated. Specifically, the effects of the size, composition, and surface and interfacial structure of Pd-based catalysts, which could influence the dissociation mode of hydrogen, the adsorption, and the reaction mode of the catalytic substrate, on the performance have been systemically reviewed. Then, the progress on Pd-based catalysts for selective hydrogenation of unsaturated alkynes, aldehydes, ketones, and nitroaromatic hydrocarbons is revealed based on the fundamental principles of selective hydrogenation. Finally, perspectives on the further development of strategies for chemical selective hydrogenation are provided. It is hoped that this perspective would provide an instructive guideline for constructing efficient heterogeneous Pd-based catalysts for various selective hydrogenation reactions.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of exosomes from mild-inflammation- stimulated human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSC) combined with stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) on dental pulp regeneration in rats. Methods: Primary hDPSCs were isolated, cultured and then stimulated by using lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The exosomes from the hDPSCs with (L-EXO) or without (N-EXO) LPS were extracted by overspeed differential centrifugation and were identified by transmission electron microscopy and Western blotting. Forty SD rats, aged 6-8 weeks, were equally divided into S group (SDF-1 alone), L+S group (L-EXO combined with SDF-1), N+S group (N-EXO combined with SDF-1) and blank control group (no substance implanted into the root canal) by random number table method. Bilateral mandibular first molars were used as the experimental teeth to establish pulpless root canal models and different contents were implanted into the root canals according to the groups. All rats were over-anesthetized and sacrificed at the 30th day after content implantation. Bilateral mandibular tissues were taken for histological evaluation by means of HE, Masson and immunohistochemical stainings. Results: The HE staining showed new pulp-like tissue in the root canals of all three experimental groups. The amount of new tissues and the number of cells in the tissues were greatest in L+S group and least in S group. Masson staining showed that the mineralized tissue in L+S group was arranged longitudinally along the root canal wall and the collagen fibers were arranged in an orderly fashion, while those in N+S group showed an irregular and disordered distribution. Quantitative analysis of the area of neovascularization in each group showed that the density of vessels in the L+S group [(2.03±0.65)%] was significantly higher than that in the S group [(0.65±0.05)%] and the N+S group [(1.06±0.38)%] respectively (F=5.879, P<0.05). Immunohistochemical staining showed that the expression of CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) was significantly lower in S and L+S groups than in N+S group, with a statistically significant difference (F=8.633, P<0.01). Conclusions: Exosomes secreted by hDPSCs combined with SDF-1 might increase the amount of new tissue in the root canal and the density of blood vessels in the tissue. L-EXO showed a stronger effect than N-EXO did. The combination of L-EXO with SDF-1 might result in more regular arrangement of mineralized tissue and collagen fibers in the regenerative tissues.

Abstract
Oxidative stress is closely related to the occurrence of depression. Acupuncture has been proved to be an effective method for treating depression. In order to explore the mechanism of the antidepressant effect of acupuncture, this study performed acupuncture prevention on chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) depression model rats, and observed the effect of acupuncture on hippocampal oxidative stress and Nrf2 signaling pathway. Male SD rats were randomly divided into control group, CUMS group, acupuncture group, and fluoxetine group (n = 10/group). Fluoxetine, a common antidepressant, was used as a positive control drug in this study. In the fluoxetine group, rats were given fluoxetine (2.1 mg/kg) intragastrically once a day for 28 days. The acupoints of Shangxing (GV23) and Fengfu (GV16) were applied in acupuncture group, once every other day for 14 times in total. Behavioral tests and biological detections were used to evaluate the effects of the interventions and the changes of factors related to oxidative stress, Nrf2 pathway, and neuronal apoptosis. The results showed that both acupuncture and fluoxetine could increase sugar preference rate in SPT and decrease immobility time in FST in depression model rats. It also significantly decreased oxidative stress products such as ROS and H2O2, and elevated the protein and mRNA expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1. From Nissl’s staining, there were more abundant nerve cells in two intervention groups compared with CUMS group. Plus, acupuncture down-regulated the expression levels of Bax and caspase-3 and up-regulated the expression of Bcl-2. Our findings indicate that acupuncture improved depression-like behaviors of CUMS rats. And CUMS-induced depression-like behaviors in rats were related to oxidative stress and neuronal apoptosis in hippocampus. Acupuncture showed antidepressant effects in reducing oxidative stress products via regulating the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway so that prevented neuronal apoptosis.

Abstract
Proper development of mammalian skeletal muscle relies on precise gene expression regulation. Our previous studies revealed that muscle development is regulated by both mRNA and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that N6-methyladenosine (m6A) plays important roles in various biological processes, making it essential to profile m6A modification on a transcriptome-wide scale in developing muscle. Patterns of m6A methylation in lncRNAs in developing muscle have not been uncovered. Here, we reveal differentially expressed lncRNAs and report temporal m6A methylation patterns in lncRNAs expressed in mouse myoblasts and myotubes by RNA-seq and methylated RNA immunoprecipitation (MeRIP) sequencing. Many lncRNAs exhibit temporal differential expression, and m6A-lncRNAs harbor the consensus m6A motif “DRACH” along lncRNA transcripts. Interestingly, we found that m6A methylation levels of lncRNAs are positively correlated with the transcript abundance of lncRNAs. Overexpression or knockdown of m6A methyltransferase METTL3 alters the expression levels of these lncRNAs. Furthermore, we highlight that the function of m6A genic lncRNAs might correlate to their nearby mRNAs. Our work reveals a fundamental expression reference of m6A-mediated epitranscriptomic modifications in lncRNAs that are temporally expressed in developing muscle.

Abstract
This study aims to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Toutongning Capsules in the treatment of tension-type headache(TTH), so as to provide a corresponding basis for clinical treatment. Eight commonly used medical research databases and two clinical trial registration systems were retrieved with the time interval from the establishment of the database or system to November 2020. The randomized controlled trials of Toutongning Capsules in the treatment of TTH were screened out according to the pre-set criteria. The quality of the included papers was evaluated by the bias risk assessment tool in Cochrane Reviewers Handbook 6.1 and the data were statistically analyzed by RevMan v5.4 provided by Cochrane collaboration. A total of 13 studies were included and the quality of methodology was generally low. Meta-analysis showed that Toutongning Capsules assisted with western medicine therapy can effectively reduce the pain intensity(MD_(VAS)=-1.94,95%CI[-2.50,-1.38],P<0.000 01;MD_(NRS)=-0.83,95%CI[-0.86,-0.80],P<0.000 01), headache duration(SMD=-0.98,95%CI[-1.17,-0.79],P<0.000 01), headache frequency(MD=-1.01,95%CI[-1.16,-0.85],P<0.000 01), headache index(MD=-11.13,95%CI[-12.10,-10.16],P<0.000 01), anxiety and depression scale score(MD_(HAMA)=-4.02,95%CI[-6.58,-1.46],P=0.002;MD_(HAMD)=-2.67,95%CI[-4.04,-1.29],P=0.000 1), while Toutongning Capsules as monotherapy only reduced the headache score(MD=-2.24,95%CI[-2.97,-1.51],P<0.000 01). The available clinical studies demonstrate that Toutongning Capsules combined with western medicine in the treatment of TTH can improve the related outcome indicators, but the clinical safety and efficacy of Toutongning Capsules alone remain unclear. Due to the small number and low quality of the included studies, large-sample, multi-center, high-quality and strictly designed randomized controlled trials are still needed to verify the clinical efficacy in the future.

Abstract
The efficacy of gastrodin as a Chinese herbal medicine extract in the treatment of tension-type headache has been confirmed. This paper systematically reviewed the efficacy and safety of gastrodin in the treatment of tension-type headache, aiming to provide a new choice for the treatment of this disease. In this study, four Chinese databases, four English databases and two trial registries were searched from the date of establishment to September 2020. The related randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were screened out according to the predetermined criteria. The bias risk assessment tool developed by Cochrane collaboration was used to evaluate the quality of the reports. RevMan 5.4.1 was used for Meta-analysis, and GRADE system for the evidence-based evaluation on the quality of outcome indicators. A total of 177 articles were retrieved and 8 articles were finally included for analysis, with a total sample size of 1 091 cases, which included 565 cases in the treatment group and 526 cases in the control group. The overall quality of included stu-dies was not high. The results of Meta-analysis are as follows:(1)In terms of headache frequency, gastrodin group was better than wes-tern medicine group(MD=-2.90, 95%CI[-3.76,-2.03], P<0.000 01).(2)In terms of number of abnormal blood vessels in TCD, gastrodin group was better than western medicine group(MD=-88.96, 95%CI[-102.36,-75.55], P<0.000 01).(3)In terms of effective rate, gastrodin group was better than western medicine group(RR=1.47, 95%CI[1.29, 1.68], P<0.000 01). The results of subgroup analysis are as follows:(1)Effective rate based on age, for the patients upper age limit 40-46 years old, gastro-din group was better than western medicine group(RR=1.69, 95%CI[1.50, 1.90], P<0.000 01); for the patients upper age limit 55-60 years old, gastrodin group was better than western medicine group(RR=1.27, 95%CI[1.16, 1.38], P<0.000 01).(2)Effective rate based on dosage form, both the gastrodin capsules and injection groups were better than western medicine group(RR_(capsules)=1.42, 95%CI[1.08, 1.88], P=0.01; RR_(injection)=1.50, 95%CI[1.26, 1.77], P<0.000 01). GRADE evaluation showed that the above outcomes had low quality of evidence. Only one article detailed the occurrence of adverse reactions and thus the present study cannot make a positive conclusion on the safety of gastrodin in the treatment of tension-type headache. The small number and low quality of the included reports affected the reliability of the results. In the future, more high-quality randomized controlled trails are needed to improve the evaluation on the efficacy and safety of gastrodin in the treatment of tension-type headache.

Abstract
To evaluate the application of outcome indicators in randomized controlled trials(RCTs) concerning the treatment of tension-type headache(TTH) with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in recent five years, so as to provide a basis for the study of core outcome set(COS) for TCM intervention in TTH. The RCTs on TCM treatment of TTH in recent five years were systematically retrieved from CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, EMbase, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.gov and China Clinical Trial Registry. After literature screening, data extraction and evaluation of the risk of bias, the outcome indicators in the included RCTs were subjected to qualitative analysis. The preliminary search yielded 19 042 articles, and 10 983 were left after the elimination of duplication. Finally, 52 RCTs(48 in Chinese and 4 in English) were included for qualitative analysis. The outcome indicators of RCTs included in this study were classified into seven domains: TCM syndrome, symptom and sign, physical and chemical detection, quality of life, long-term prognosis, economic evaluation, and safety event. The findings demonstrated that headache characteristic index in the symptom and sign domain was the index with the highest reporting frequency and reporting rate. Seventeen RCTs used TCM syndrome score as the outcome indicator. Further analysis revealed that there existed such problems in research design as non-distinction between primary and secondary outcome indicators, great difference in the adopted measurement tools for outcome indicators, and the neglect of measurement time of outcome indicators. Moreover, the syndrome indicators reflecting TCM advantages, objective evaluation indicators, safety and health-economic indicators were lacking. These limitations have affected the quality and reliability of RCTs on TTH treatment with TCM. It is suggested that the efficacy and characteristics of TCM should be combined into current clinical research, and the COS in RCTs regarding TCM treatment of TTH should be established according to internationally recognized standard procedures.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Liquid biopsy is gaining increasing popularity in cancer screening and diagnosis. However, there is no relatively mature DNA isolation method or commercial kit available that is compatible with different LB sample types. This study developed a PAN-sample DNA isolation method (PAN method) for liquid biopsy samples. METHODS The PAN method has two key steps, including biosample-specific pretreatments for various LB sample types and high concentration guanidine thiocyanate buffer for lysis and denaturation procedure. Subsequently, the performance of PAN method was validated by a series of molecular analyses. RESULTS The PAN method was used to isolate DNA from multiple sample types related to LB, including plasma, serum, saliva, nasopharyngeal swab, and stool. All purified DNA products showed good quality and high quantity. Comparison of KRAS mutation analysis using DNA purified using PAN method versus QIAamp methods showed similar efficiency. Epstein-Barr virus DNA was detected via Q-PCR using DNA purified from serum, plasma, nasopharyngeal swab, and saliva samples collected from nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. Similarly, methylation sequencing of swab and saliva samples revealed good coverage of target region and high methylation of HLA-DPB1 gene. Finally, 16S rDNA gene sequencing of saliva, swab, and stool samples successfully defines the relative abundance of microbial communities. CONCLUSIONS This study developed and validated a PAN-sample DNA isolation method that can be used for different LB samples, which can be applied to molecular epidemiological research and other areas.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influencing factors on the vaulting one month after implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation, and to develop and verify a prediction formula. Methods: The first half of this study was retrospective case series study, and the second half was cross-sectional stydy. A total of 83 eyes of 83 patients who underwent ICL implantation in the Lixiang Eye Hospital of Soochow University were included in the first half of the study, with an average age of (27±5) years, from August 1, 2019 to December 30, 2019. All patients underwent a complete preoperative examination, including axis length, anterior chamber depth, comprehensive optometry, intraocular pressure, central corneal thickness, white-to-white diameter, horizontal and vertical sulcus-to-sulcus diameter (STS), crystalline lens thickness (LT), corneal curvature, and bright and dark pupil diameter. Multiple linear regression (stepwise) was used to develop a prediction formula. In the validation part, a total of 65 people (65 eyes) were included, with an average age of (26±5) years, from March 1, 2020 to June 1, 2020. The accuracy and reliability of the formula were verified by the intergroup correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman consistency test. Results: At 1 month after surgery, ICL size had the greatest impact on the vaulting (β=0.942, P<0.001), followed by horizontal STS (β=-0.517, P<0.001), LT (β=-0.376, P<0.001), and vertical STS (β=-0.257, P=0.017). The influence of other factors was not statistically significant (all P>0.05). The regression equation was as follows: the vaulting (μm)=-1 369.05+657.12×ICL size-287.41×horizontal STS-432.50×LT-137.33×vertical STS (the fitting degree R=0.813, R2=0.660, and corrected R2=0.643). In the verification part, the predicted average vaulting was (497.31±102.75) μm, while the actual vaulting was (514.62±152.99) μm. About 96.92% (63/65) of the patients were fitted in the moderate vault, and 3.08% (2/65) were in the high vault. The intergroup correlation coefficient was 0.581. According to the Bland-Altman test, the actual vaulting was 17.31 μm, higher than the predicted value, and the 95% confidence interval of the difference was -260.28 to 294.90 μm. Conclusion: The ICL size, horizontal and vertical STS and LT are the factors that affect and predict the vaulting one month after ICL implantation, and our prediction formula has good accuracy and reliability. Abstract
BACKGROUND Although stratifying individuals with respect to nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) risk with Epstein-Barr virus-based markers is possible, the performance of diagnostic methods for detecting lesions among screen-positive individuals is poorly understood. METHODS The authors prospectively evaluated 882 participants aged 30 to 70 years who were enrolled between October 2014 and November 2018 in an ongoing, population-based NPC screening program and had an elevated NPC risk. Participants were offered endoscopy and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and lesions were identified either by biopsy at a follow-up endoscopy or further contact and linkage to the local cancer registry through December 31, 2019. The diagnostic performance characteristics of endoscopy and MRI for NPC detection were investigated. RESULTS Eighteen of 28 identified NPC cases were detected by both methods, 1 was detected by endoscopy alone, and 9 were detected by MRI alone. MRI had significantly higher sensitivity than endoscopy for NPC detection overall (96.4% vs 67.9%; Pdifference = .021) and for early-stage NPC (95.2% vs 57.1%; P = .021). The sensitivity of endoscopy was suggestively lower among participants who had previously been screened in comparison with those undergoing an initial screening (50.0% vs 81.2%; P = .11). The authors observed a higher overall referral rate by MRI versus endoscopy (17.3% vs 9.1%; P < .001). Cases missed by endoscopy had early-stage disease and were more commonly observed for tumors originating from the pharyngeal recess. CONCLUSIONS MRI was more sensitive than endoscopy for NPC detection in the context of population screening but required the referral of a higher proportion of screen-positive individuals. The sensitivity of endoscopy was particularly low for individuals who had previously been screened.

Abstract
Anastomotic leak is one of inevitable postoperative complications of rectal cancer. With the improvement of surgical techniques, the enhancement of the cognization of rectal cancer, and the development of surgical instruments, surgical procedures of rectal cancer are getting more sophisticated. The anastomosis is performed lower and lower, however the incidence of anastomotic leak is not significantly decreased. In addition, different from intraperitoneal anastomotic leak, the low rectal anastomotic leak after low anterior resection has many special issues in the diagnosis and treatment in clinic. The incidence of peritonitis caused by low anastomotic leak is low, the onset time is late, and symptoms of peritonitis are mild. So most low anastomotic leak is treated conservatively, second surgical repair or resection of anastomotic site is rarely performed, and proximal intestinal diversion is commonly performed. In the prevention of low anastomotic leak, some techniques and precautions during the perioperative period and identification of high risk factors might play important roles. Combined our clinical experiences, we introduced the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and research progression of low anastomotic leak after anterior resection of low rectal cancer, we hope it would be helpful.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the willingness of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent HIV transmission and related factors in men who have sex with men (MSM). Methods: Cross sectional survey design was used in this study. After informed consent, MSM aged 18 years or above and having had homosexual anal or oral sex in the past 6 months were recruited through "i WeChat" official account between September and November, 2019. Results: Of 1 517 MSM were surveyed, the proportion of MSM who had ever heard of PEP were 72.5% (1 100/1 517) and 87.9%(1 333/1 517) of the MSM said they would like to use PEP if it is needed.Multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that aged above 25 year (OR=1.807, 95%CI: 1.090-2.995), HIV test history (OR=1.953, 95%CI: 1.171-3.256) and being aware of PEP (OR=2.163, 95%CI: 1.468-3.186) were the positive factors for PEP use, but an aware of the HIV status of sexual partner was the negative factor for PEP (OR=0.602, 95%CI: 0.407-0.890). Among MSM who had ever heard of PEP, the positive factors for PEP use included living in Zhejiang (OR=1.942, 95%CI: 1.097-3.438), aged above 25 years (OR=2.431, 95%CI: 1.331-4.439), being aware of PEP (OR=3.714, 95%CI: 1.532-9.007) obtaining information about PEP service from MSM organization/volunteer/health organization. Conclusions: MSM's willingness to use PEP services was relatively high. Age, awareness of PEP related knowledge, and awareness of sexual partner's HIV infection status were the related factors. MSM organization/volunteer/health organization were the main forces for PEP promotion in MSM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Plasma Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA is considered a biomarker for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). However, its long-term role in NPC development is unclear. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 1363 participants seropositive for EBV VCA-IgA and EBNA1-IgA in a community-based NPC screening program in southern China were tested for plasma EBV DNA levels by real-time qPCR between 2008 and 2015. New NPC cases were confirmed by active follow-up approach and linkage to local cancer registry through the end of 2016. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was performed to calculate the hazard ratios (HRs) for NPC risk with plasma EBV DNA. RESULTS Thirty patients were newly diagnosed during a median 7.5 years follow-up. NPC incidence increased with the plasma EBV DNA load ranging from 281.46 to 10,074.47 per 100,000 person-years in participants with undetectable and ≥ 1000 copies/ml levels; the corresponding cumulative incidence rates were 1.73 and 50%. Furthermore, plasma EBV DNA loads conferred an independent risk for NPC development after adjustment for other risk factors, with HRs of 7.63 for > 3-999 copies/ml and 39.79 for ≥1000 copies/ml. However, the HRs decreased gradually after excluding NPC cases detected in the first 2 to 3 years and became statistically nonsignificant by excluding cases detected during the first 4 years. CONCLUSION Elevated plasma EBV DNA can predict NPC risk over 3 years. Monitoring plasma EBV DNA can be used as a complementary approach to EBV serological antibody-based screening for NPC.

Abstract
Cost-efficient and environmentally friendly treatment of hydraulic fracturing effluents is of great significance for the sustainable development of shale gas exploration. We investigated the synergistic effects of plant-microbial treatment of shale gas fracturing waste fluid. The results showed that illumination wavelength and temperature are direct drivers for microbial treatment effects of CODCr and BOD5, while exhibit little effects on nitrogen compounds, TDS, EC, and SS removals as well as microbial species and composition. Plant-microbial synergism could significantly enhance the removal of pollutants compared with removal efficiency without plant enhancement. Additionally, the relative abundance and structure of microorganisms in the hydraulic fracturing effluents greatly varied with the illumination wavelength and temperature under plant-microbial synergism. 201.24 g water dropwort and 435 mg/L activated sludge with illumination of 450-495 nm (blue) at 25 °C was proved as the best treatment condition for shale gas fracturing waste fluid samples, which showed the highest removal efficiency of pollutants and the lowest algal toxicity in treated hydraulic fracturing effluents. The microbial community composition (36.73% Flavobacteriia, 25.01% Gammaproteobacteria, 18.55% Bacteroidia, 9.3% Alphaproteobacteria, 4.1% Cytophagia, and 2.83% Clostridia) was also significantly different from other treatments. The results provide a potential technical solution for improved treatment of shale gas hydraulic fracturing effluents.

Background
Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a rare and lethal arrhythmia in children and young adults. RYR2 mutation accounts for 60% of CPVT patients. While many articles about CPVT are published in the Caucasian population, only a few studies are based on Asian ethnicity. A CPVT scorecard proposed using Caucasian patients is proven effective in reducing the burden of variants of uncertain significance (VUS) of RYR2 mutations is not yet tested in the Asian population.
Purpose
Identify mutations among Taiwanese CPVT patients and compare genetic and clinical results with other ethnicities. We also tested the efficacy of the CPVT scorecard in Taiwanese CPVT patients.
Methods
40 clinically diagnosed CPVT patients and their family members were consecutively enrolled from multi-centers. We compared clinical characteristics and genetic results with other ethnicities, and applied the Caucasian CPVT scorecard to test whether it is applicable in Taiwanese CPVT patients.
Results
This is the first nationwide CPVT cohort in Taiwan. Among the 29 patients with CPVT-related gene mutation, 12 RYR2 variants was identified in our cohort with 5 of them unreported in previous studies. The RYR2 yield rate was 55%, similar to other ethnicities. Exercise-induced symptoms including syncope and cardiac arrest were more severe in Taiwanese CPVT cohort, compared to Japanese and Caucasian cohorts. The CPVT scorecard also successfully reduced the VUS rate for the Taiwanese cohort.
Conclusions
Our study demonstrated genetic difference in CPVT patients across ethnicities, suggesting the importance of genetic testing in Taiwan. The CPVT scorecard is applicable to Taiwanese CPVT patients and is a helpful tool in interpreting genetic test results in clinical practice. Abstract
Despite evidence suggesting the utility of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) markers to stratify individuals with respect to nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) risk in NPC high-risk regions, no validated NPC risk prediction model exists. We aimed to validate an EBV-based NPC risk score in an endemic population undergoing screening for NPC. This prospective study was embedded within an ongoing NPC screening trial in southern China initiated in 2008, with 51 235 adult participants. We assessed the score's discriminatory ability (area under the receiver-operator-characteristics curve, AUC). A new model incorporating the EBV score, sex and family history was developed using logistic regression and internally validated using cross-validation. AUCs were compared. We also calculated absolute NPC risk combining the risk score with population incidence and competing mortality data. A total of 151 NPC cases were detected in 2008 to 2016. The EBV-based score was highly discriminating, with AUC = 0.95 (95% CI = 0.93-0.97). For 90% specificity, the score had 87.4% sensitivity (95% CI = 81.0-92.3%). As specificity increased from 90% to 99%, the positive predictive value increased from 2.4% (95% CI = 1.9-3.0%) to 12.5% (9.9-15.5%). Correspondingly, the number of positive tests per detected NPC case decreased from 272 (95% CI = 255-290) to 50 (41-59). Combining the score with other risk factors (sex, first-degree family history of NPC) did not improve AUC. Men aged 55 to 59 years with the highest risk profile had the highest 5-year absolute NPC risk of 6.5%. We externally validated the discriminatory accuracy of a previously developed EBV score in a high-risk population. Adding nonviral risk factors did not improve NPC prediction.

Abstract
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC), one of the most common malignancies worldwide, is associated with poor survival and has a high mortality rate. Taxol is a chemotherapeutic agent that has been clinically applied as a first-line drug against diverse cancers. Yet, development of drug resistance has become the major challenge for anti-cancer treatments. F-box and WD40 domain protein 7 (Fbxw7) is a known tumor suppressor which is frequently downregulated in cancers. However, the biological roles and mechanisms of Fbxw7 in Taxol resistance are still under investigation. Methods We report that Fbxw7 is significantly inactivated in CRC tumors and cell lines compared with normal tissues and colon cells. Expressions of Fbxw7 and Nox1 were detected from human colon tumors and cells by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Glycolysis rate was assessed by glucose uptake and lactate product assay. Interactions between Fbxw7 and Nox1 were determined by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP). Chemosensitivity and resistance of colon cancer cells were determined by MTT assay and Annexin V-FITC assay. Results Overexpression of Fbxw7 sensitized colon cancer cells to Taxol. Moreover, we observed a negative correlation between Fbxw7 and glucose metabolism. From the established Taxol-resistant (TR) cell line from HCT-116, Fbxw7 was found to be markedly downregulated in HCT-116 TR cells. We detected that NADPH oxidase 1 (Nox1), a superoxide-generating NADPH oxidase, is negatively regulated by Fbxw7. The Co-IP assay showed that Fbxw7 interacted with Nox1, which was observed to be significantly upregulated in CRC tissues. Nox1 therefore promotes the Taxol resistance and glucose metabolism of colon cancer cells. Finally, rescue experiments demonstrated that the Fbxw7-promoted Taxol sensitivity was partially through the Nox1-glycolysis axis. Restoration of Nox1 in Fbxw7-overexpressed TR colon cancer cells significantly recovered the Taxol resistance, which could be further overridden by glycolysis inhibition. Conclusions Collectively, this study uncovered that targeting the Fbxw7-Nox1-glucose metabolism axis could be an effective strategy against chemoresistant colon cancer.

Abstract
Nodal lines are degeneracies formed by crossing bands in three-dimensional momentum space. Interestingly, these degenerate lines can chain together via touching points and manifest as nodal chains. These nodal chains are usually embedded in two orthogonal planes and protected by the corresponding mirror symmetries. Here, we propose and demonstrate an in-plane nodal chain in photonics, where all chained nodal lines coexist in a single mirror plane instead of two orthogonal ones. The chain point is stabilized by the intrinsic symmetry that is specific to electromagnetic waves at the Г point of zero frequency. By adding another mirror plane, we find a nodal ring that is constructed by two higher bands and links with the in-plane nodal chain. The nodal link in momentum space exhibits non-Abelian characteristics on a C2T - invariant plane, where admissible transitions of the nodal link structure are determined by generalized quaternion charges. Through near-field scanning measurements of bi-anisotropic metamaterials, we experimentally mapped out the in-plane nodal chain and nodal link in such systems.

Abstract
Objective: To preliminarily establish the multidisciplinary cooperative vaccination management model for pediatric patients with hematological and oncological diseases, and to explore its feasibility. Methods: In this prospective study a total of 150 children with hematological and oncological diseases visited immunization clinic of Shanghai Children's Medical Center from March 2017 to August 2018 were enrolled in this study. After establishing the multidisciplinary team, designing vaccination plan, staff training, implementation and quality control, a multidisciplinary immunization clinic was set up and the vaccination plan were implemented. The implementation rate of vaccination immunization, the HBsAb level and serum hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb) level before and after treatment, the HBsAb level and serum immunoglobulin G antibody (IgG) levels of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) before and 6 months after immunization, the vaccine-related adverse reactions were assessed prospectively. Chi-square test or Fisher exact test was used to compare the differences of antibody level. Results: A total of 124 cases had been vaccinated as planned, with a coverage rate of 82.7%. Among these cases, the difference of HBsAb positive rate before and after treatment was significant (62.9% (78/124) vs.13.7% (17/124), χ²= 63.489, P<0.01). In 64 cases that completed three doses of hepatitis B immunization, there was a significant difference in HBsAb positive rate before and 6 months after immunization (6.3% (4/64) vs. 98.4% (63/64), P<0.01). In 40 cases that completed MMR immunization, the IgG antibody positive rate for measles (22.5% (9/40) vs. 82.5% (33/40), χ²=31.746,P<0.01), mumps (22.5% (9/40) vs.82.5% (33/40), χ²=28.872,P<0.01), rubella (25.0% (10/40) vs.62.5% (25/40), χ²=11.429, P<0.01) before and 6 months after immunization were significantly different. Of the 421 doses of immunization, 25 (5.9%) doses reported controlled systemic or local adverse event. Conclusions: The immunization of pediatric patients with hematological and oncological diseases is of great importance. The newly-developed multidisciplinary cooperation immunization model for Chinese children with hematological and oncological diseases is feasible, and the immunization protocol is safe and has a certain effect.
