Abstract
A series of 20 novel gefitinib derivatives incorporating the 1,2,3-triazole moiety were designed and synthesized. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their potential anticancer activity against EGFR wild-type human non-small cell lung cancer cells (NCI-H1299, A549) and human lung adenocarcinoma cells (NCI-H1437) as non-small cell lung cancer. In comparison to gefitinib, Initial biological assessments revealed that several compounds exhibited potent anti-proliferative activity against these cancer cell lines. Notably, compounds 7a and 7j demonstrated the most pronounced effects, with an IC50 value of 3.94 ± 0.17 µmol L-1 (NCI-H1299), 3.16 ± 0.11 µmol L-1 (A549), and 1.83 ± 0.13 µmol L-1 (NCI-H1437) for 7a, and an IC50 value of 3.84 ± 0.22 µmol L-1 (NCI-H1299), 3.86 ± 0.38 µmol L-1 (A549), and 1.69 ± 0.25 µmol L-1 (NCI-H1437) for 7j. These two compounds could inhibit the colony formation and migration ability of H1299 cells, and induce apoptosis in H1299 cells. Acute toxicity experiments on mice demonstrated that compound 7a exhibited low toxicity in mice. Based on these results, it is proposed that 7a and 7j could potentially be developed as novel drugs for the treatment of lung cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To systematically assess the quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection and identify gaps that limit their development. STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING CPGs for HP infection were systematically collected from PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and six online guideline repositories. Three researchers independently used the AGREE Ⅱ tool to evaluate the methodological quality of the eligible CPGs. In addition, the reporting and recommendation qualities were appraised by using the RIGHT and AGREE-REX tools, respectively. The distribution of the level of evidence and strength of recommendation among evidence-based CPGs was determined. RESULTS A total of 7,019 records were identified, and 24 CPGs met the eligibility criteria. Of the eligible CPGs, 19 were evidence-based and 5 were consensus-based. The mean overall rating score of AGREE II was 50.7% (SD = 17.2%). Among six domains, the highest mean score was for scope and purpose (74.4%, SD = 17.7%) and the lowest mean score was for applicability (24.3%, SD = 8.9). Only three of 24 CPGs were high-quality. The mean overall score of recommendation quality was 35.5% (SD = 12.2%), and the mean scores in each domain of AGREE-REX and RIGHT were all ≤ 60%, with values and preferences scoring the lowest (16.6%, SD = 11.9%). A total of 505 recommendations were identified. Strong recommendations accounted for 64.1%, and only 34.3% of strong recommendations were based on high-quality evidence. CONCLUSION The overall quality of CPGs for HP infection is poor, and CPG developers tend to neglect some domains, resulting in a wide variability in the quality of the CPGs. Additionally, CPGs for HP infection lack sufficient high-quality evidence, and the grading of recommendation strength should be based on the quality of evidence. The CPGs for HP infection have much room for improvement and further researches are required to minimize the evidence gap.

Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the effect of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) treatment on the postharvest quality, epidermal wax morphology, composition, and gene expression of Jinxiu yellow peach during cold storage. The results showed that 1-MCP treatment could maintain the postharvest quality of peach fruit as compared to control (CK) during cold storage. The wax crystals of peach fruit were better retained by 1-MCP, and they still existed in 0.6 and 0.9 µL/L 1-MCP treated fruit at 36 days. The total wax content in all the fruit increased first and then decreased during cold storage. Meanwhile, n-alkanes and primary alcohols were the main wax components. Compared to CK, 1-MCP treatment could delay the reduction of wax content during cold storage. The correlation analysis indicated that the postharvest quality of yellow peach was mainly affected by the contents of fatty acids and triterpenoids in cuticular wax. The transcriptomics results revealed PpaCER1, PpaKCS, PpaKCR1, PpaCYP86B1, PpaFAR, PpaSS2, and PpaSQE1 played the important roles in the formation of peach fruit wax. 1-MCP treatment upregulated PpaCER1 (18785414, 18786441, and 18787644), PpaKCS (18774919, 18789438, and 18793503), PpaKCR1 (18790432), and PpaCYP86B1 (18789815) to deposit more n-alkanes and fatty acids during cold storage. This study could provide a new perspective for regulating the postharvest quality of yellow peach in view of the application of cuticular wax. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: 'Jinxiu' yellow peach fruit is favorable among consumers because of its high commercial value. However, it ripens and deteriorates rapidly during storage, leading to serious economic loss and consumer disappointment. The effect of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) treatment on the postharvest quality, epidermal wax morphology, composition, and genes regulation of 'Jinxiu' yellow peach during cold storage was assessed. Compared to control, 1-MCP treatment could retain the storage quality of yellow peach by affecting cuticular wax composition and gene expression. This study could provide new perspective for regulating the postharvest quality of yellow peach in view of the application of cuticular wax.

Abstract
The safe and efficient management of hazardous radioactive iodine is significant for nuclear waste reprocessing and environmental industries. A novel supramolecular framework compound based on cucurbit[8]uril (Q[8]) and 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) is reported in this paper. In the single crystal structure of Q[8]-(4-AP), two 4-AP molecules interact with the outer surface of Q[8] and the two other 4-AP molecules are encapsulated into the Q[8] cavity to form the self-assembly Q[8]-(4-AP). Iodine adsorption experiments show that the as-prepared Q[8]-(4-AP) not only has a high adsorption capacity (1.74 g· g-1) for iodine vapor but also can remove the iodine in the organic solvent and the aqueous solution with the removal efficiencies of 95% and 91%, respectively. The presence of a large number of hydrogen bonds between the iodine molecule and the absorbent, as seen in the single crystal structure of iodine-loaded Q[8]-(4-AP) (I2@Q[8]-(4-AP)), is thought to be responsible for the exceptional iodine adsorption capacity of the material. In addition, the adsorption-desorption tests reveal that the self-assembly material has no significant loss of iodine capture capacity after five cycles, indicating that it has sufficient reusability.

Abstract
Serological tests for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antibodies have been widely conducted for the screening of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in endemic areas. Further risk stratification of NPC can be achieved through plasma lipoprotein and metabolic profiles. A total of 297 NPC patients and 149 EBV-positive participants are enrolled from the NCT03919552 and NCT05682703 cohorts for plasma nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabolomic analysis. Small, dense very low density lipoprotein particles (VLDL-5) and large, buoyant low density lipoprotein particles (LDL-1) are found to be closely associated with nasopharyngeal carcinogenesis. Herein, an NMR-based risk score (NRS), which combines lipoprotein subfractions and metabolic biomarkers relevant to NPC, is developed and well validated within a multicenter cohort. Combining the median cutoff value of the NRS (N50) with that of the serological test for EBV antibodies, the risk stratification model achieves a satisfactory performance in which the area under the curve (AUC) is 0.841 (95% confidence interval: 0.811-0.871), and the positive predictive value (PPV) reaches 70.08% in the combined cohort. These findings not only suggest that VLDL-5 and LDL-1 particles can serve as novel risk factors for NPC but also indicate that the NRS has significant potential in personalized risk prediction for NPC.

Abstract
Chinese patent medicine (CPM) is a typical type of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation that uses Chinese herbs as raw materials and is an important means of treating diseases in TCM. Chinese patent medicine instructions (CPMI) serve as a guide for patients to use drugs safely and effectively. In this study, we apply a pre-trained language model to the domain of CPM. We have meticulously assembled, processed, and released the first CPMI dataset and fine-tuned the ChatGLM-6B base model, resulting in the development of CPMI-ChatGLM. We employed consumer-grade graphics cards for parameter-efficient fine-tuning and investigated the impact of LoRA and P-Tuning v2, as well as different data scales and instruction data settings on model performance. We evaluated CPMI-ChatGLM using BLEU, ROUGE, and BARTScore metrics. Our model achieved scores of 0.7641, 0.8188, 0.7738, 0.8107, and - 2.4786 on the BLEU-4, ROUGE-1, ROUGE-2, ROUGE-L and BARTScore metrics, respectively. In comparison experiments and human evaluation with four large language models of similar parameter scales, CPMI-ChatGLM demonstrated state-of-the-art performance. CPMI-ChatGLM demonstrates commendable proficiency in CPM recommendations, making it a promising tool for auxiliary diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, the various attributes in the CPMI dataset can be used for data mining and analysis, providing practical application value and research significance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetic angiogenesis is closely associated with disabilities and death caused by diabetic microvascular complications. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are abnormally accumulated in diabetic patients and are a key pathogenic factor for diabetic angiogenesis. The present study focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying diabetic angiogenesis and identifying therapeutic targets based on these mechanisms. METHODS In this study, AGE-induced angiogenesis serves as a model to investigate the mechanisms underlying diabetic angiogensis. Mouse aortic rings, matrigel plugs, and HUVECs or 293T cells were employed as research objects to explore this pathological process by using transcriptomics, gene promoter reporter assays, virtual screening and so on. RESULTS Here, we found that AGEs activated Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and enhanced the β-catenin protein level by affecting the expression of β-catenin degradation-related genes, such as FZDs (Frizzled receptors), LRPs (LDL Receptor Related Proteins), and AXIN1. AGEs could also mediate β-catenin Y142 phosphorylation through VEGFR1 isoform5. These dual effects of AGEs elevated the nuclear translocation of β-catenin and sequentially induced the expression of KDR (Kinase Insert Domain Receptor) and HDAC9 (Histone Deacetylase 9) by POU5F1 and NANOG, respectively, thus mediating angiogenesis. Finally, through virtual screening, Bioymifi, an inhibitor that blocks VEGFR1 isoform5-β-catenin complex interaction and alleviates AGE-induced angiogenesis, was identified. CONCLUSION Collectively, this study offers insight into the pathophysiological functions of β-catenin in diabetic angiogenesis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Burning mouth syndrome is a chronic pain syndrome mainly characterized by an intensive burning sensation of tongue. Previous studies have suggested that saliva/serum biomarkers in burning mouth syndrome might be associated with psychological disorders. The aim of systematic review was to observe whether the biomarkers in serum/saliva could be an alternative method to evaluate the psychological disorders in patients with burning mouth syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHODS The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for papers published up to March 15, 2023. Risk of bias was measured by using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. RevMan was used for meta-analysis. RESULTS A total of 467 articles were screened, which of 12 studies were included. These studies collected 43 different biomarkers in saliva and 35 in serum. Of these biomarkers, only three (cortisol, α-amylase, and IL-6) were analyzed in two or more studies. Only salivary cortisol levels were significantly higher in the patient group compared to the controls (Mean Difference = 1.39; 95% CI [0.80-1.97]; p < 0.001). Moreover, cortisol might be relevant to psychological scores, especially anxiety. CONCLUSION Different papers have investigated salivary and serum biomarkers in burning mouth syndrome patients with controversial results. This meta-analysis showed that cortisol levels in saliva may be a potential biomarker to assess the psychological disorders in burning mouth syndrome patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To construct a risk prediction model for assisted diagnosis of Diabetic Nephropathy (DN) using machine learning algorithms, and to validate it internally and externally. METHODS Firstly, the data was cleaned and enhanced, and was divided into training and test sets according to the 7:3 ratio. Then, the metrics related to DN were filtered by difference analysis, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE), and Max-relevance and Min-redundancy (MRMR) algorithms. Ten machine learning models were constructed based on the key variables. The best model was filtered by Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC), Precision-Recall (PR), Accuracy, Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), and Kappa, and was internally and externally validated. Based on the best model, an online platform had been constructed. RESULTS 15 key variables were selected, and among the 10 machine learning models, the Random Forest model achieved the best predictive performance. In the test set, the area under the ROC curve was 0.912, and in two external validation cohorts, the area under the ROC curve was 0.828 and 0.863, indicating excellent predictive and generalization abilities. CONCLUSION The model has a good predictive value and is expected to help in the early diagnosis and screening of clinical DN.

Abstract
Inverted inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is potential as the top cells in tandem configurations, owing to the ideal bandgap, good thermal and light stability of inorganic perovskites. However, challenges such as mismatch of energy levels between charge transport layer and perovskite, significant non-radiative recombination caused by surface defects, and poor water stability have led to the urgent need for further improvement in the performance of inverted inorganic PSCs. Herein, the fabrication of efficient and stable CsPbI3-x Brx PSCs through surface treatment of (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTS), is reported. The silane groups in MPTS can in situ crosslink in the presence of moisture to build a 3-dimensional (3D) network by Si-O-Si bonds, which forms a hydrophobic layer on perovskite surface to inhibit water invasion. Additionally, -SH can strongly interact with the undercoordinated Pb2+ at the perovskite surface, effectively minimizing interfacial charge recombination. Consequently, the efficiency of the inverted inorganic PSCs improves dramatically from 19.0% to 21.0% under 100 mW cm-2 illumination with MPTS treatment. Remarkably, perovskite films with crosslinked MPTS exhibit superior stability when soaking in water. The optimized PSC maintains 91% of its initial efficiency after aging 1000 h in ambient atmosphere, and 86% in 800 h of operational stability testing.

Abstract
In this study, 14 structurally novel gefitinib-1,2,3-triazole derivatives were synthesized using a click chemistry approach and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). Preliminary cell counting kit-8 results showed that most of the compounds exhibit excellent antitumor activity against epidermal growth factor receptor wild-type lung cancer cells NCI-H1299, A549 and NCI-H1437. Among them, 4b and 4c showed the most prominent inhibitory effects. The half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of 4b were 4.42 ± 0.24 μM (NCI-H1299), 3.94 ± 0.01 μM (A549) and 1.56 ± 0.06 μM (NCI-1437). The IC50 values of 4c were 4.60 ± 0.18 µM (NCI-H1299), 4.00 ± 0.08 μM (A549) and 3.51 ± 0.05 μM (NCI-H1437). Furthermore, our results showed that 4b and 4c could effectively inhibit proliferation, colony formation and cell migration in a concentration-dependent manner, as well as induce apoptosis in H1299 cells. In addition, 4b and 4c exerted its anti-tumor effects by inducing cell apoptosis, upregulating the expression of cleaved-caspase 3 and cleaved-PARP and downregulating the protein levels of Bcl-2. Based on these results, it is suggested that 4b and 4c be developed as potential new drugs for lung cancer treatment.

Abstract
Constructing concentration differences between anions and cations at the ends of an ionic conductor is an effective strategy in electricity generation for powering wearable devices. Temperature gradient or salinity gradient is the driving force behind such devices. But their corresponding power generation devices are greatly limited in actual application due to their complex structure and harsh application conditions. In this study, a novel ionic concentration gradient electric generator based on the evaporation difference of the electrolyte is proposed. The device can be constructed without the need for semipermeable membranes, and operation does not need to build a temperature difference. As a demonstration, a PVA-Na ionic hydrogel is prepared as an electrolyte for the device and achieved a thermovoltage of more than 200 mV and an energy density of 77.94 J m-2 at 323 K. Besides, the device exhibits the capability to sustain a continuous voltage output for a duration exceeding 1500 min, as well as enabling charging and discharging cycles for 100 iterations. For practical applications, a module comprising 16 sub-cells is constructed and successfully utilized to directly power a light-emitting diode. Wearable devices and their corresponding cell modules are also developed to recycle body heat.

Abstract
This study determined that Zanthoxylum bungeanum leaves (ZBLs) are rich in functional components such as cellulose, protein, flavone, and polyphenols. Therefore, they were used as the main raw material, with sodium alginate as a thickener and glycerol as a plasticizer, to investigate the preparation of active films from ZBL powder through high-pressure homogenization (HPH). The physical, optical, mechanical, and antioxidant properties of the films were evaluated, and their application in preserving fresh-cut apples was examined. The results showed that the optimal concentration of ZBL powder was 1.5% under a 30 MPa HPH treatment. The resulting HPH-treated films exhibited a denser microstructure and improved water vapor barrier properties and mechanical strength. Compared to the films without HPH treatment, the tensile strength increased from 4.61 MPa to 12.13 MPa, the elongation at break increased from 21.25% to 42.86%, the water vapor permeability decreased from 9.9 × 10-9 g/m·s·Pa to 8.0 × 10-9 g/m·s·Pa, and the transparency increased from 25.36% to 38.5%. Compared to the control group, the fresh-cut apples packaged with the HPH-treated ZBL active films exhibited effective preservation of apple quality during a five-day period at 4 °C and 70% humidity, showing better preservation effects than the other groups. In conclusion, the use of HPH treatment in developing novel biopolymer active films from ZBL powders with enhanced properties holds potential for various applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Atresia and degeneration, a follicular developmental fate that reduces female fertility and is triggered by granulosa cell (GC) apoptosis, have been induced by dozens of miRNAs. Here, we report a miRNA, miR-423, that inhibits the initiation of follicular atresia (FA), and early apoptosis of GCs. RESULTS We showed that miR-423 was down-regulated during sow FA, and its levels in follicles were negatively correlated with the GC density and the P4/E2 ratio in the follicular fluid in vivo. The in vitro gain-of-function experiments revealed that miR-423 suppresses cell apoptosis, especially early apoptosis in GCs. Mechanically speaking, the miR-423 targets and interacts with the 3'-UTR of the porcine SMAD7 gene, which encodes an apoptosis-inducing factor in GCs, and represses its expression and pro-apoptotic function. Interestingly, FA and the GC apoptosis-related lncRNA NORHA was demonstrated as a ceRNA of miR-423. Additionally, we showed that a single base deletion/insertion in the miR-423 promoter is significantly associated with the number of stillbirths (NSB) trait of sows. CONCLUSION These results demonstrate that miR-423 is a small molecule for inhibiting FA initiation and GC early apoptosis, suggesting that treating with miR-423 may be a novel approach for inhibiting FA initiation and improving female fertility.

Abstract
Nitriles are of significant interest in the flavor and fragrance industries with potential application in cosmetics due to their higher stability than analogous aldehydes. However, the traditional methods to prepare nitriles need toxic reagents and hash conditions. This work aimed to develop a chemoenzymatic strategy to synthesize nitriles from natural aldehydes with aldoxime as the intermediate. A non-classical aldoxime dehydratase (Oxd) was discovered from the fungus Aspergillus ibericus (OxdAsp) to catalyze the dehydration of aldoximes to corresponding nitriles under mild conditions. The amino acid sequence of OxdAsp exhibits an approximately 20% identity with bacterial Oxds. OxdAsp contains a heme prosthetic group bound with the axial H287 in the catalytic pocket. The structure models of OxdAsp with substrates suggest that its catalytic triad is Y138-R141-E192, which is different from the classically bacterial Oxds of His-Arg-Ser/Thr. The catalytic mechanism of OxdAsp was proposed based on the mutagenesis of key residues. The hydroxyl group of the substrate is fixed by E192 to increase its basicity. Y138 acts as a general acid-based catalyst, and its phenolic proton is polarized by the adjacent R141. The protonated Y138 would donate a proton to the hydroxyl group of the substrate and eliminate a water molecule from aldoxime to produce nitrile. The recombinant OxdAsp can efficiently dehydrate citronellal oxime and cinnamaldoxime to citronellyl nitrile and cinnamonitrile in aqueous media, which are applied as fragrance ingredients in the food and cosmetic fields. KEY POINTS: • A novel aldoxime dehydratase from the Aspergillus genus was first characterized as a heme-binding protein. • The catalytic mechanism was predicted based on the molecular interactions of the catalytic pocket with the substrate. • A chemoenzymatic strategy was developed to synthesize nitriles from natural aldehydes with aldoxime as the intermediate.

Abstract
Coal spontaneous combustion in the gob poses a significant threat to coal mining operations. Designing optimal process parameters for nitrogen injection to prevent and control fires efficiently is crucial. To achieve this, a multi-field coupling equation was established, considering the adsorption of coal to gas. The model's accuracy was verified on-site, and the effects of nitrogen injection at different locations and flow rates were simulated. The optimal injection parameters were determined by analyzing temperature and inerting time. The results showed that the coal spontaneous combustion hazardous zone in the gob tested on-site was consistent with the simulation from the perspective of physisorption. Nitrogen injection had three stages: gas expansion, rapid oxygen dilution, and complete inerting. The nitrogen injection effect presented a nonlinear change in injection location and flow rate. The optimal nitrogen injection location for the Tingnan Coal Mine in Shaanxi was determined to be 90 m behind the working face on the inlet side, with an optimal flow rate of 800 m3/min. This study focused on gas adsorption and offered valuable insights for creating high-efficiency fire-fighting techniques that involve inserting in the gob.

Abstract
A recombinant inbred line population including 371 lines was developed by a high kernel number per spike (KNPS) genotype T1208 and a low KNPS genotype Chuannong18 (CN18). A genetic linkage map consisting of 11,583 markers was constructed by the Wheat55K SNP Array. The quantitative trait loci (QTLs) related to KNPS were detected in three years. Eight, twenty-seven, and four QTLs were identified using the ICIM-BIP, ICIM-MET, and ICIM-EPI methods, respectively. One QTL, QKnps.sau-2D.1, which was mapped on chromosome 2D, can explain 18.10% of the phenotypic variation (PVE) on average and be considered a major and stable QTL for KNPS. This QTL was located in a 0.89 Mb interval on chromosome 2D and flanked by the markers AX-109283238 and AX-111606890. Moreover, KASP-AX-111462389, a Kompetitive Allele-Specific PCR (KASP) marker which closely linked to QKnps.sau-2D.1, was designed. The genetic effect of QKnps.sau-2D.1 on KNPS was successfully confirmed in two RIL populations. The results also showed that the significant increase of KNPS and 1000-kernel weight (TKW) was caused by QKnps.sau-2D.1 overcoming the disadvantage due to the decrease of spike number (SN) and finally lead to a significant increase of grain yield. In addition, within the interval in which QKnps.sau-2D.1 is located in Chinese Spring reference genomes, only fifteen genes were found, and two genes that might associate with KNPS were identified. QKnps.sau-2D.1 may provide a new resource for the high-yield breeding of wheat in the future.

Abstract
Nitidine chloride (NC) is effective on cancer in many tumors, but its effect on bladder cancer (BC) is unknown. We conducted cell function experiments to verify the antineoplastic effect of NC on BC cell lines (5637, T24, and UM-UC-3) in vitro. Then, mRNAs of NC-treated and NC-untreated BC cells were extracted for mRNA sequencing. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs), expression analysis, and drug molecular docking were conducted to discover the target gene of NC. Finally, functional enrichment was analyzed to explore the underlying mechanisms. NC dramatically inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion, and it induced apoptosis and arrested the S and G2/M phases of BC cell lines. Lymphocyte antigen 75 (LY75) appeared to be the target of NC. LY75 was highly expressed and had the ability to distinguish BC tissue from non-cancerous tissue. Then, drug molecular docking confirmed the targeting relationship between NC and LY75. Gene enrichment analysis showed that the downregulated genes, after being treated with NC, were mainly enriched in pathways relevant to cell pathophysiological processes. NC inhibits BC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, induces apoptosis, and arrests cell cycles by downregulating the expression of LY75. This study provides molecular and theoretical bases for NC treatment of BC.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study was designed to investigate the clinicopathological features of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) with hyperuricemia (HUA), together with associated factors within 10 years in a single centre in Shandong Province. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, we analysed the clinical and pathological data of 694 IMN patients in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2019. Based on serum uric acid (UA) level, the patients were divided into hyperuricemia (HUA) group (n = 213) and normal serum uric acid (NUA) group (n = 481). Multi-variate logistic regression analysis was conducted on to screen the associated factors of HUA. RESULTS 213 (30.69%) IMN patient were complicated with HUA. Compared with the patients with NUA, significant increase was noticed in the proportion of patients showing edema, concurrent hypertensive disease or diabetes mellitus (DM), as well as the proportion of positive glomerular capillary loop IgM and positive C1q in the HUA group (P < 0.05). In addition, significant increase was noticed in the 24 h urine protein, serum creatinine, triglycerides, complement C3 and complement C4 in HUA group compared with those of NUA group (all P < 0.05). With gender as a control factor, multi-variate logistic regression analysis showed positive glomerular capillary loops C1q, serum albumin, serum phosphorus were associated with IMN combined with HUA in male, while triglycerides and serum creatinine were associated with IMN combined with HUA in female counterparts. CONCLUSION About 30.69% of IMN patients had HUA, with a male predominance than female. In male patients with IMN, higher serum albumin level and serum phosphorus level were associated with higher incidence of HUA, while in female IMN patients, higher serum triglyceridemia and serum creatinine level were associated with higher incidence of HUA. Therefore, it can be targeted to prevent the occurrence of HUA in IMN.

Abstract
Indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) have emerged as significant targets in the tumor microenvironment for cancer therapy. In this study, we synthesized three novel 2-amino-1,4-naphthoquinone amide-oxime derivatives and identified them as dual inhibitors of IDO1 and STAT3. The representative compound NK3 demonstrated effective binding to IDO1 and exhibited good inhibitory activity (hIDO1 IC50 = 0.06 μM), leading to its selection for further investigation. The direct interactions between compound NK3 and IDO1 and STAT3 proteins were confirmed through surface plasmon resonance analysis. A molecular docking study of compound NK3 revealed key interactions between NK3 and IDO1, with the naphthoquinone-oxime moiety coordinating with the heme iron. In the in vitro anticancer assay, compound NK3 displayed potent antitumor activity against selected cancer cell lines and effectively suppressed nuclear translocation of STAT3. Moreover, in vivo assays conducted on CT26 tumor-bearing Balb/c mice and an athymic HepG2 xenograft model revealed that compound NK3 exhibited potent antitumor activity with low toxicity relative to 1-methyl-L-tryptophan (1-MT) and doxorubicin (DOX). Overall, these findings provided evidence that the dual inhibitors of IDO1 and STAT3 may offer a promising avenue for the development of highly effective drug candidates for cancer therapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the in vitro anti-nephritis activity of Rostellularia procumbens (L.) Nees (R. procumbens) extract and to make a preliminary investigation of its anti-nephritis mechanism. METHODS A prediction network was built that describes the relationship between R. procumbens and CGN. Then, the potential targets for R. procumbens against CGN were imported into the DAVID database for Gene Ontology (GO) biological annotation analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. A lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated rat mesangial cell HBZY-1 model in vitro was used to examine the anti-inflammatory activity of R. procumbens extract. RNA-seq was utilized to investigate differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and enriched signaling pathways between groups. Finally, qPCR was used for the validation analysis of the experimental results. RESULTS The results of network pharmacology showed that R. procumbens exerts its therapeutic effect on CGN through the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications, PI3K-Akt, IL-17 signaling pathway, and so on. R. procumbens n-butanol extract (J-NE) can effectively relieve inflammation in HBZY-1. The results of KEGG pathway enrichment suggest that J-NE attenuated CGN was associated with the IL-17 signaling pathway, and the results of RNA-seq were consistent with network pharmacology. Targets enriched in the IL-17 signaling pathway, including Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 7 (CCL7), Lipocalin 2 (LCN2), Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2), and Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1), have been identified as crucial targets attenuating CGN by J-NE. CONCLUSION R. procumbens is a promising pharmacological candidate for the treatment of CGN in the present era.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion is an effective surgical treatment of intervertebral disk herniation. However, its clinical efficacy for adjacent segment disk degeneration (ASDD) after hybrid bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral cortical screw (pedicle screw at L4 and cortical bone trajectory screw at L5) and hybrid bilateral cortical screw - bilateral pedicle screw (bilateral cortical screw at L4 and bilateral pedicle screw at L5) remains undiscovered. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the hybrid bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral cortical screw and hybrid bilateral cortical screw - bilateral pedicle screw on the adjacent segment via a 3-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) analysis. METHODS Four human cadaveric lumbar spine specimens were provided by the anatomy teaching and research department of Xinjiang Medical University. Four finite element models of L1-S1 lumbar spine segment were generated. For each of these, four lumbar transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion models at L4-L5 segment with the following instruments were created: hybrid bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral cortical screw, bilateral cortical screw - bilateral cortical screw (bilateral cortical screw at both L4 and L5 segments), bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral pedicle screw (bilateral pedicle screw at both L4 and L5 segments), and hybrid bilateral cortical screw - bilateral pedicle screw. A 400-N compressive load with 7.5 Nm moments was applied for the simulation of flexion, extension, lateral bending, and rotation. The range of motion of L3-L4 and L5-S1 segments and von Mises stress of the intervertebral disc at the adjacent segment were compared. RESULTS Hybrid bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral cortical screw has the lowest range of motion at L3-L4 segment in flexion, extension, and lateral bending, and the highest disc stress in all motions, while the range of motion at L5-S1 segment and disc stress was lower than bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral pedicle screw in flexion, extension, and lateral bending, and higher than bilateral cortical screw - bilateral cortical screw in all motions. The range of motion of hybrid bilateral cortical screw - bilateral pedicle screw at L3-L4 segment was lower than bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral pedicle screw and higher than bilateral cortical screw - bilateral cortical screw in flexion, extension, and lateral bending, and the range of motion at L5-S1 segment was higher than bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral pedicle screw in flexion, lateral bending, and axial rotation. The disc stress at L3-L4 segment was lowest and more dispersed in all motions, and the disc stress at L5-S1 segment was higher than bilateral pedicle screw - bilateral pedicle screw in lateral bending and axial rotation, but more dispersed. CONCLUSION Hybrid bilateral cortical screw - bilateral pedicle screw decreases the impact on adjacent segments after spinal fusion, reduces the iatrogenic injury to the paravertebral tissues, and provides throughout decompression of the lateral recess.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Osteosarcoma (OS) is a fatal adolescent tumor, which is susceptible to remote metastases at an early stage, and its treatment remains a major challenge. ubiquitin-specific protease 10 (USP10) is primarily located in the cytoplasm and can therefore deubiquitinate various cytoplasmic proteins. However, the expression and mechanism of USP10 in OS remain ambiguous. The aim of this study was to explore how USP10 affects Yes-associated protein1 (YAP1) to influence the metastasis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). METHODS Western blotting, qRT-PCR, and immunohistochemical (IHC) analyses were performed to evaluate USP10 and YAP1 levels. Using wound healing and transwell tests, the roles and molecular pathways of USP10 and YAP1 ability to migrate and invade of OS were investigated, and cell morphological alterations were examined using phalloidin staining. RESULTS Our results indicated that USP10, a new type of deubiquitinating protease, is increased in OS tissues and cells contrasted with adjacent healthy tissues. Overexpression of USP10 correlated with tumor size, distant metastasis, and TNM stage, and was an independent factor of poor prognosis in OS patients. Also, USP10 expression is closely connected with the incident of OS metastasis and tumor size. Functional assays revealed that USP10 knockdown suppressed cell migrating and invading ability and inhibited the EMT of OS cells in vivo and in vitro. In addition, we showed that USP10 knockdown decreased the levels of YAP1, which is an important positive regulator of migration and invasion in many cancers. We also found a significant positive correlation between USP10 and YAP1 levels, further demonstrating that USP10-induced migration and EMT are based on YAP1 in OS cells. In a mechanistic way, USP10 stabilizes the expression of YAP1 by mediating its deubiquitination in OS cells. CONCLUSION Together, this study showed that USP10 can directly interact with YAP1 to reduce ubiquitinated YAP1, thereby stabilizing its protein levels and affecting EMT and distant metastasis in OS cells.

Abstract
Considering that the strip method is simple and convenient for users, a Europium nanosphere-based time-resolved fluorescent immunochromatographic assay (TRFICA) for the rapid screening of 4,4'-dinitrocarbanilide (DNC) was developed to improve the performance of strip assays. After optimization, TRFICA showed IC50, the limit of detection, and cut-off values of 0.4, 0.07, and 5.0 ng mL-1, respectively. No significant cross-reactivity (CR < 0.1%) with 15 DNC analogs was observed in the developed method. TRFICA was validated for DNC detection in spiked chicken homogenates, and recoveries ranged from 77.3% to 92.7%, with coefficients of variation of <14.9%. Moreover, the time needed for the detection procedure, including the sample pre-treatment, was less than 30 min for TRFICA, which had never been achieved before in other immunoassays. The newly developed strip test is a rapid, sensitive, quantitative, and cost-effective on-site screening technique for DNC analysis in chicken muscle.

Abstract
Preeclampsia (PE) is a multisystem disorder with high maternal morbidity and mortality rates. Currently, no practical therapeutic approach is available to prevent PE progression, except for early delivery. Gut dysbiosis is associated with PE development. Previous data showed that the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila (Am) was lower in patients with PE than in normotensive pregnant women. Here, in this study, decreased abundance of Am was observed in a PE mouse model. Also, we found that administration with Am could significantly attenuate systolic blood pressure, promote foetal growth and improve the placental pathology in mice with PE. Moreover, Am-derived extracellular vesicles (AmEVs) were transferred from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract to the placenta and mitigated pre-eclamptic symptoms in PE mice. These beneficial effects of AmEVs were mediated by enhanced trophoblast invasion of the spiral artery (SpA) and SpA remodelling through activation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)-protein kinase B (AKT) signalling pathway. Collectively, our findings revealed the potential benefit of using AmEVs for PE treatment and highlighted important host-microbiota interactions.

Abstract
Building information modelling (BIM) is considered to be significant for organisational communication in construction projects. However, the role of BIM has not been fully shown in practice. To this end, this study examined the impact of BIM on communication network from inter- and intra- organisational relationships in the construction project. First, the structures of the communication networks before and after the use of BIM in a project in China were determined based on the social capital perspective. Then, the social network analysis was adopted to measure the changes in network metrics (i.e., number of ties, density, centrality, centralisation, and clique). Results shows that the connections among nodes are denser, and all the values of the network centralisation decrease after BIM application compared with the situation before BIM use. Nevertheless, results also shows that some construction project participants, who originally have interaction and communication needs, remain unable to establish effective connections among one another even after BIM use. Accordingly, some suggestions were proposed to solve the issues and deficiencies. This research contributes to (a) the state of knowledge by proposing social capital perspective that can identify inter- and intra-organizational relationships of the construction project from social interaction and common cognition to build communication network, and (b) the state of practice by identifying conditions and proposing strategies for strengthening organisational communication and collaboration in BIM-enabled network relationships.

Abstract
Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) are chronic neurological disorders associated with cognitive or motor dysfunction. As a common spice, Zingiber officinale Roscoe has been used as a medicine to treat a variety of NDDs. However, at the molecular level, the mechanisms of Z. officinale in treating of NDDs have not been deeply investigated. In this study, network pharmacology method, molecular docking, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis were used to predict the mechanisms of Z. officinale in the treatment of NDDs. After a series of biological information analyses, five core targets were obtained, including heme oxygenase 1 (HMOX1), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), nitric oxide synthase (NOS), catechol-O-methyl-transferase (COMT), and metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5). Compounds 75, 68, 46, 67, 69, 49, 66, 50, 34, and 64 were identified as the main components of Z. officinale in the treatment of NDDs. The crucial pathways mainly include neuroactive ligand-receptor signaling pathways, cyclic adenosine monophosphate signaling pathways, dopamine synaptic signaling pathways, and so on. Besides, in vitro experiments by AChE inhibitory activities assay and neuroprotective activities against H2 O2 -induced injury in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells validated the reliability of the results of network analysis. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Zingiber officinale Roscoe is widely used as a traditional spice and herbal medicine. It contains a number of active ingredients, which have shown activities on anti-neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). In this paper, the potential mechanism of Z. officinale in the treatment of NDDs is explored through network pharmacology, and it was verified by in vitro experiments. The mechanism was not only clarified at the system level but also proved to be effective at the biological level. The results can be used as a reference for Z. officinale in the treating of NDDs.
