Abstract
The host cytoskeleton plays crucial roles in various stages of virus infection, including viral entry, transport, replication, and release. However, the specific mechanisms by which intermediate filaments are involved in orthoflavivirus infection have not been well understood. In this study, we demonstrate that the Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) remodels the vimentin network, resulting in the formation of cage-like structures that support viral replication. Mechanistically, JEV NS1 and NS1' proteins induce the translocation of CDK1 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and interact with it, leading to the phosphorylation of vimentin at Ser56. This phosphorylation event recruits PLK1, which further phosphorylates vimentin at Ser83. Consequently, these phosphorylation modifications convert the typically filamentous vimentin into non-filamentous "particles" or "squiggles." These vimentin "particles" or "squiggles" are then transported retrogradely along microtubules to the endoplasmic reticulum, where they form cage-like structures. Notably, NS1' is more effective than NS1 in triggering the CDK1-PLK1 cascade response. Overall, our study provides new insights into how JEV NS1 and NS1' proteins manipulate the vimentin network to facilitate efficient viral replication. IMPORTANCE Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a mosquito-borne orthoflavivirus that causes severe encephalitis in humans, particularly in Asia. Despite the availability of a safe and effective vaccine, JEV infection remains a significant public health threat due to limited vaccination coverage. Understanding the interactions between JEV and host proteins is essential for developing more effective antiviral strategies. In this study, we investigated the role of vimentin, an intermediate filament protein, in JEV replication. Our findings reveal that JEV NS1 and NS1' proteins induce vimentin rearrangement, resulting in the formation of cage-like structures that envelop the viral replication factories (RFs), thus facilitating efficient viral replication. Our research highlights the importance of the interplay between the cytoskeleton and orthoflavivirus, suggesting that targeting vimentin could be a promising approach for the development of antiviral strategies to inhibit JEV propagation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Circadian rhythm disruption (CRD) has been associated with inflammation and immune disorders, but its role in SLE progression is unclear. We aimed to investigate the impact of circadian rhythms on immune function and inflammation and their contribution to SLE progression to lupus nephritis (LN). METHODS This study retrospectively analysed the clinical characteristics and transcriptional profiles of 373 samples using bioinformatics and machine-learning methods. A flare risk score (FRS) was established to predict overall disease progression for patients with lupus. Mendelian randomisation was used to analyse the causal relationship between CRD and SLE progression. RESULTS Abnormalities in the circadian pathway were detected in patients with SLE, and lower enrichment levels suggested a disease state (normalised enrichment score=0.6714, p=0.0062). The disruption of circadian rhythms was found to be closely linked to lupus flares, with the FRS showing a strong ability to predict disease progression (area under the curve (AUC) of 5-year prediction: 0.76). The accuracy of disease prediction was improved by using a prognostic nomogram based on FRS (AUC=0.77). Additionally, Mendelian randomisation analysis revealed an inverse causal relationship between CRD and SLE (OR 0.6284 (95% CI 0.3630 to 1.0881), p=0.0485) and a positive causal relationship with glomerular disorders (OR 0.0337 (95% CI 1.634e-3 to 6.934e-1), p=0.0280). CONCLUSION Our study reveals that genetic characteristics arising from CRD can serve as biomarkers for predicting the exacerbation of SLE. This highlights the crucial impact of CRD on the progression of lupus.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The age of those experiencing traumatic injury and requiring surgery increases. The majority of this increase seen in older patients having operations after accidents is in fragility proximal femur fractures (FPFF). This study designed a model to predict the distribution of fractures suitable for ambulatory trauma list provision based on the number of FPFF patients. METHODS The study utilized two datasets which both had data from 64 hospitals. One derived from the ORTHOPOD study dataset, and the other from National Hip Fracture Database. The model tested the predictability of 12 common fracture types based on FPFF data from the two datasets, using linear regression and K-fold cross-validation. RESULTS The predictive model showed some promise. Evaluation of the model with mean RMSE and Std RMSE demonstrated good predictive performance for some fracture types, although the r-squared values showed that large variation in these fracture types was not always captured by the model. The study highlighted the dominance of FPFFs, and the strong correlation between these and numbers of ankle and distal radius fractures at a given unit. DISCUSSION It is possible to model the numbers of ankle and distal radius fractures based off the number of patients admitted with hip fractures. This has great significance given the drive for increased day case utilisation and bed pressures across health services. While the model's current predictability was limited, with methodological improvements and additional data, a more robust predictive model could be developed to aid in the restructuring of trauma networks and improvement of patient care and surgical outcomes.

Abstract
Northern corn leaf blight caused by Setosphaeria turcica is a major fungal disease responsible for significant reductions in maize yield worldwide. Eukaryotic type 2A protein phosphatase (PP2A) influences growth and virulence in a number of pathogenic fungi, but little is known about its roles in S. turcica. Here, we functionally characterized S. turcica StPP2A-C, which encodes the catalytic C subunit of StPP2A. StPP2A-C deletion slowed colony growth, conidial germination, and appressorium formation but increased conidiation, melanin biosynthesis, glycerol content, and disease lesion size on maize. These effects were associated with expression changes in genes related to calcium signaling, conidiation, laccase activity, and melanin and glycerol biosynthesis, as well as changes in intra- and extracellular laccase activity. A pull-down screen for candidate StPP2A-c interactors revealed an interaction between StPP2A-c and StLac1. Theoretical modeling and yeast two-hybrid experiments confirmed that StPP2A-c interacted specifically with the copper ion binding domain of StLac1 and that Cys267 of StPP2A-c was required for this interaction. StPP2A-C expression thus appears to promote hyphal growth and reduce pathogenicity in S. turcica, at least in part by altering melanin synthesis and laccase activity; these insights may ultimately support the development of novel strategies for biological management of S. turcica.

Abstract
Background In patients with pulmonary nodules undergoing computed tomography (CT)-guided localization procedures, a range of liquid-based materials have been employed to date in an effort to guide video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) procedures to resect target nodules. However, the relative performance of these different liquid-based localization strategies has yet to be systematically evaluated. Accordingly, this study was developed with the aim of examining the relative safety and efficacy of CT-guided indocyanine green (IG) and blue-stained glue (BSG) PN localization. Methods Consecutive patients with PNs undergoing CT-guided localization prior to VATS from November 2021 - April 2022 were enrolled in this study. Safety and efficacy outcomes were compared between patients in which different localization materials were used. Results In total, localization procedures were performed with IG for 121 patients (140 PNs), while BSG was used for localization procedures for 113 patients (153 PNs). Both of these materials achieved 100% technical success rates for localization, with no significant differences between groups with respect to the duration of localization (P = 0.074) or visual analog scale scores (P = 0.787). Pneumothorax affected 8 (6.6%) and 8 (7.1%) patients in the respective IG and BSG groups (P = 0.887), while 12 (9.9%) and 10 (8.8%) patients of these patients experienced pulmonary hemorrhage. IG was less expensive than BSG ($17.2 vs. $165). VATS sublobar resection procedure technical success rates were also 100% in both groups, with no instances of conversion to thoracotomy. Conclusions IG and BSG both offer similarly high levels of clinical safety and efficacy when applied for preoperative CT-guided PN localization, with IG being less expensive than BSG.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Upper limb motor dysfunction is a major problem in the rehabilitation of patients with stroke. Brain-computer interface (BCI) is a kind of communication system that converts the "ideas" in the brain into instructions and has been used in stroke rehabilitation. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of BCI in rehabilitation training on upper limb motor function among patients with ischemic stroke. METHODS This was an investigator-initiated, multicenter, randomized, open-label, blank-controlled clinical trial with blinded outcome assessment conducted at 17 centers in China. Patients were assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the BCI group or the control group based on traditional rehabilitation training. The primary efficacy outcome is the difference in improvement of the Fugl-Meyer Assessment upper extremity (FMA-UE) score between two groups at month 1 after randomization. The safety outcomes were any adverse events within 3 months. FINDINGS A total of 296 patients with ischemic stroke were enrolled and randomly allocated to the BCI group (n = 150) and the control group (n = 146). The primary efficacy outcomes of FMA-UE score change from baseline to 1 month were 13.17 (95% confidence interval [CI], 11.56-14.79) in the BCI group and 9.83 (95% CI, 8.19-11.47) in the control group (mean difference between groups was 3.35; 95% CI, 1.05-5.65; p = 0.0045). Adverse events occurred in 33 patients (22.00%) in the BCI group and in 31 patients (21.23%) in the control group. CONCLUSIONS BCI rehabilitation training can further improve upper limb motor function based on traditional rehabilitation training in patients with ischemic stroke. This study was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04387474. Abstract
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM The esthetic assessment of smile lines by laypersons is a subject of ongoing debate. However, smile lines often appear with different types of upper lip curvature, which further complicates the esthetic assessment process, and studies on this combination are lacking. PURPOSE The purpose of this clinical study was to investigate a layperson's esthetic perception of smile lines and upper lip combined images. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twenty-six smile images resulting from combinations of 3 upper lip types, 4 anterior smile line types, and 3 posterior smile line types were generated by an image editing software program. Eighty-three laypersons (39 men and 44 women; 18 to 35 years of age) completed rating images using a visual analog scale. Unattractive smiles were designated to be those with scores <50 and attractive ones with scores ≥50. Data were analyzed using 1-way analysis of variance and Bonferroni post hoc tests (α=.05). RESULTS High anterior smile line with gingival display >4 mm obtained significantly lower scores of <50 when combined with all upper lip curvatures (upward: 28.29 ±22.79, straight: 38.74 ±23.00, downward: 30.67 ±22.25, P<.01). High anterior smile lines with gingival display ≤4 mm combined with upward and straight upper lip curvature images obtained significantly higher scores, and all were ≥50 (upward: 63.24 ±22.22, straight: 61.40 ±21.58, P<.01). CONCLUSIONS From a layperson's perspective, high anterior smile lines with gingival display >4 mm combined with any lip type were determined to be unattractive. If gingival display was ≤4 mm combined with both upward and straight lip types, the smile was assessed as attractive.

Abstract
To investigate the status of social jet lag (SJL) through sociodemographic factors among clinical nurses and examine the correlation with burnout. There has been relatively little research on the possible factors resulting in SJL among nurses in China and its role in burnout. A multicenter cross-sectional study recruited 596 nurses from 7 Chinese hospitals. Online questionnaires were delivered to assess sociodemographics, shift work, SJL, chronotypes, and the burnout of nurses. Nurses had severe levels of SJL. The number of children, forms of employment, specialty area, length of professional service, and chronotypes were the main predictors of SJL. Moreover, SJL affected burnout (emotional exhaustion and deindividuation), and reducing the nurses' SJL could relieve their burnout. Additional evidence-based interventions indicate that reducing the SJL is essential as the nurses are suffering severe job burnout.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The effect of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) components on prediabetes and diabetes is of concern, but the evidence is limited and the specific role of different green space types remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the relationship of PM2.5 and its components with prediabetes and diabetes as well as the potential health benefits of different types and combinations of green spaces. METHODS A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted in eastern China by using a multi-stage random sampling method. Health screening and questionnaires for 98,091 participants were performed during 2017-2020. PM2.5 and its five components were estimated by the inverse distance weighted method, and green space was reflected by the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), percentages of tree or grass cover. Multivariate logistic regression and quantile g-computing were used to explore the associations of PM2.5 and five components with prediabetes and diabetes and to elucidate the potential moderating role of green space and corresponding type combinations in these associations. RESULTS Each interquartile range (IQR) increment of PM2.5 was associated with both prediabetes (odds ratio [OR]: 1.15, 95%CI [confidence interval]: 1.10-1.20) and diabetes (OR: 1.18, 95% CI: 1.11-1.25), respectively. All five components of PM2.5 were related to prediabetes and diabetes. The ORs of PM2.5 on diabetes were 1.49 (1.35-1.63) in the low tree group and 0.90 (0.82-0.98) in the high tree group, respectively. In the high tree-high grass group, the harmful impacts of PM2.5 and five components were significantly lower than in the other groups. CONCLUSION Our study suggested that PM2.5 and its components were associated with the increased risk of prediabetes and diabetes, which could be diminished by green space. Furthermore, the coexistence of high levels of tree and grass cover provided greater benefits. These findings had critical implications for diabetes prevention and green space-based planning for healthy city.

Abstract
Objectives Left-sided portal hypertension (LSPH) leads to life-threatening gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. There are no recommendations or consensus about the management of GI bleeding caused by LSPH. This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to evaluate the incidence of GI bleeding and the mortality of patients with LSPH receiving different therapeutic strategies. Design A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to determine the efficacy of different therapeutic strategies for GI bleeding caused by LSPH. Data sources and methods All relevant studies were searched from PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Scopus, ScienceDirect, MEDLINE, Google Scholar, CNKI, and Wanfang Data without language restriction through 15 November 2023. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated through RevMan5.3 software. (The Cochrane Collaboration, Copenhagen, Denmark). Results Seventeen retrospective studies and one prospective study involving 624 patients were included. This systematic review and meta-analysis found that: (1) splenectomy was more effective than non-splenectomy therapeutic strategies in reducing the incidence of GI bleeding caused by LSPH (OR: 0.12; 95% CI: 0.06-0.27); (2) splenectomy was superior to partial splenic artery embolism (PSAE) (OR: 0.06; 95% CI: 0.01-0.62) or endoscopic interventions (OR: 0.04; 95% CI: 0.01-0.19) in the prevention of GI bleeding, respectively; (3) no significant difference in the mortality was observed between splenectomy and non-splenectomy therapeutic strategies (OR: 0.46; 95% CI: 0.20-1.08); and (4) patients receiving preoperative PSAE followed by splenectomy had less intraoperative bleeding and shorter operative time than those receiving splenectomy. Conclusion This meta-analysis demonstrated that splenectomy is superior to non-splenectomy therapeutic strategies in reducing the incidence of GI bleeding from LSPH, which revealed that splenectomy should be recommended in the management of these patients. Abstract
Beauveria bassiana, a well-known filamentous biocontrol fungus, is the main pathogen of numerous field and forest pests. To explore the potential factors involved in the fungal pathogenicity, Bbhox2, an important and conserved functional transcription factor containing homeodomain was carried out by functional analysis. Homologous recombination was used to disrupt the Bbhox2 gene in B.bassiana. The conidia yield of the deletant fungal strain was significantly reduced. The conidial germination was faster, and stress tolerance to Congo red and high osmotic agents were decreased compared with that in the wildtype. Additionally, ΔBbhox2 showed a dramatic reduction in virulence no matter in topical inoculations or in intra-hemolymph injections against Galleria mellonella larvae, which is likely due to the failure of appressorium formation and the defect in producing hyphal body. These results indicate that the Bbhox2 gene markedly contributes to conidiation and pathogenicity in B. bassiana.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Clinical studies have reported that patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) have a higher prevalence of hypertension. AIM To performed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to investigate the causal link between GERD and essential hypertension. METHODS Eligible single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were selected, and weighted median, inverse variance weighted (IVW) as well as MR egger (MR-Egger) regression were used to examine the potential causal association between GERD and hypertension. The MR-Pleiotropy RESidual Sum and Outlier analysis was used to detect and attempt to reduce horizontal pleiotropy by removing outliers SNPs. The MR-Egger intercept test, Cochran's Q test and "leave-one-out" sensitivity analysis were performed to evaluate the horizontal pleiotropy, heterogeneities, and stability of single instrumental variable. RESULTS IVW analysis exhibited an increased risk of hypertension (OR = 1.46, 95%CI: 1.33-1.59, P = 2.14E-16) in GERD patients. And the same result was obtained in replication practice (OR = 1.002, 95%CI: 1.0008-1.003, P = 0.000498). Meanwhile, the IVW analysis showed an increased risk of systolic blood pressure (β = 0.78, 95%CI: 0.11-1.44, P = 0.021) and hypertensive heart disease (OR = 1.68, 95%CI: 1.36-2.08, P = 0.0000016) in GERD patients. Moreover, we found an decreased risk of Barrett's esophagus (OR = 0.91, 95%CI: 0.83-0.99, P = 0.043) in essential hypertension patients. CONCLUSION We found that GERD would increase the risk of essential hypertension, which provided a novel prevent and therapeutic perspectives of essential hypertension.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vascular injury results in uncontrollable hemorrhage in hemorrhagic diseases and excessive antithrombotic therapy. Safe and efficient hemostatic agents which can be orally administered are urgently needed. Platelets play indispensable roles in hemostasis, but there is no drug exerting hemostatic effects through enhancing platelet function. METHODS The regulatory effects of icaritin, a natural compound isolated from Herba Epimedii, on the dense granule release, thromboxane A2 (TxA2) synthesis, α-granule release, activation of integrin αIIbβ3, and aggregation of platelets induced by multiple agonists were investigated. The effects of icaritin on tail vein bleeding times of warfarin-treated mice were also evaluated. Furthermore, we investigated the underlying mechanisms by which icaritin exerted its pharmacological effects. RESULTS Icaritin alone did not activate platelets, but significantly potentiated the dense granule release, α-granule release, activation of integrin αIIbβ3, and aggregation of platelets induced by thrombin and U46619. Icaritin also shortened tail vein bleeding times of mice treated with warfarin. In addition, phosphorylated proteome analysis, immunoblotting analysis, and pharmacological research revealed that icaritin sensitized the activation of phospholipase Cγ2 (PLCγ2)-protein kinase C (PKC) signaling pathways, which play important roles in platelet activation. CONCLUSION Icaritin can sensitize platelet activation induced by thrombin and TxA2 through enhancing the activation of PLCγ2-PKC signaling pathways and promote hemostasis, and has potential to be developed into a novel orally deliverable therapeutic agent for hemorrhages.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In the era characterized by global environmental and climatic changes, understanding the effects of PM2.5 components and heatwaves on schizophrenia (SCZ) is essential for implementing environmental interventions at the population level. However, research in this area remains limited, which highlights the need for further research and effort. We aim to assess the association between exposure to PM2.5 components and hospitalizations for SCZ under different heatwave characteristics. METHODS We conducted a 16 municipalities-wide, individual exposure-based, time-stratified, case-crossover study from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2020, encompassing 160736 hospitalizations in Anhui Province, China. Daily concentrations of PM2.5 components were obtained from the Tracking Air Pollution in China dataset. Conditional logistic regression models were used to investigate the association between PM2.5 components and hospitalizations. Additionally, restricted cubic spline models were used to identify protective thresholds of residential environment in response to environmental and climate change. RESULTS Our findings indicate a positive correlation between PM2.5 and its components and hospitalizations. Significantly, a 1 μg/m3 increase in black carbon (BC) was associated with the highest risk, at 1.58% (95%CI: 0.95-2.25). Exposure to heatwaves synergistically enhanced the impact of PM2.5 components on hospitalization risks, and the interaction varied with the intensity and duration of heatwaves. Under the 99th percentile heatwave events, the impact of PM2.5 and its components on hospitalizations was most pronounced, which were PM2.5 (2-4d: 4.59%, 5.09%, and 5.09%), sulfate (2-4d: 21.73%, 23.23%, and 25.25%), nitrate (2-4d: 17.51%, 16.93%, and 20.31%), ammonium (2-4d: 27.49%, 31.03%, and 32.41%), organic matter (2-4d: 32.07%, 25.42%, and 24.48%), and BC (2-4d: 259.36%, 288.21%, and 152.52%), respectively. Encouragingly, a protective effect was observed when green and blue spaces comprised more than 17.6% of the residential environment. DISCUSSION PM2.5 components and heatwave exposure were positively associated with an increased risk of hospitalizations, although green and blue spaces provided a mitigating effect.

Abstract
Heterostructures find wide-ranging applications in fields such as thermal management, thermoelectric energy conversion, and nanoelectronics. This study provides new insights into the thermal conductivity of parallel heterointerfaces by investigating a longitudinal heterostructure composed of graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) using molecular dynamics simulations. Interestingly, it is observed that this unique heterostructure possesses a lower thermal conductivity compared to pure h-BN. The analysis reveals that phonon scattering is enhanced by stress at the interface of the heterostructure and the mass distribution through it. The heterostructure model introduced in this study presents new insights for controlling phonon transportation in nanoscale structures.

Abstract
Functions of the SKP1-CUL1-F box (SCF) ubiquitin E3 ligases are essential in plants. The F box proteins (FBPs) are substrate receptors that recruit substrates and assemble an active SCF complex, but the regulatory mechanism underlying the FBPs binding to CUL1 to activate the SCF cycle is not fully understood. We show that Arabidopsis csn1-10 is defective in SCFEBF1-mediated PIF3 degradation during de-etiolation, due to impaired association of EBF1 with CUL1 in csn1-10. EBF1 preferentially associates with un-neddylated CUL1 that is deficient in csn1-10 and the EBF1-CUL1 binding is rescued by the neddylation inhibitor MLN4924. Furthermore, we identify a subset of FBPs with impaired binding to CUL1 in csn1-10, indicating their assembly to form SCF complexes may depend on COP9 signalosome (CSN)-mediated deneddylation of CUL1. This study reports that a key role of CSN-mediated CULLIN deneddylation is to gate the binding of the FBP-substrate module to CUL1, thus initiating the SCF cycle of substrate ubiquitination.

Abstract
The recent groundbreaking achievement in the synthesis of large-sized single crystal C60 monolayer, which is covalently bonded in a plane using C60 as building blocks. The asymmetric lattice structure endows it with anisotropic phonon modes and conductivity. If these C60 are arranged in form of 1D fiber, the improved manipulation of phonon conduction along the fiber axis could be anticipated. Here, thermal properties of C60 -fiber, including thermal transfer along the C60 -fiber axis and across the interlayer interface are investigated using molecular dynamic simulations. Taking advantage of the distinctively hollow spherical structure of C60 building blocks, the spherical structure deformation and encapsulation induced thermal reduction can be up to 56% and 80%, respectively. By applying external electronic fields in H2 O@C60 model, its thermal conductivity decreases up to 60%, which realizes the contactless thermal regulation. ln particular, the thermal rectification phenomenon is discovered by inserting atoms/molecules in C60 with a rational designed mass-gradient, and its maximum thermal rectification factor is predicted to ≈45%. These investigations aim to achieve effective regulation of the thermal conductivity of C60 -fibers. This work showcases the potential of C60 -fiber in the realms of thermal management and thermal sensing, paving the way to C60 -based functional materials.

Abstract
With implementing vehicle emission control policies, tailpipe particulate emissions have been gradually controlled, and the relative contribution of non-tailpipe particulate emissions, such as brake and tire wear, has further increased. A unified and scientific method for sampling non-tailpipe particulate matter (PM) emissions is essential to improve the accuracy of the emission characteristics and factors. This study proposes a novel sampling method based on real-world driving conditions to obtain information on emissions and extract characteristic conditions for tire and brake pad wear. We extracted 200 representative braking segments for simulation experiments based on road type, initial and final velocities, temperature, and deceleration rate. Two standard test cycles to simulate the tire wear conditions of the front and rear wheels were constructed based on velocity, lateral, and vertical forces. Under the real-world driving condition test cycle, the emission factors of PM2.5 and PM10 for brake wear particles of passenger vehicles were 2.66 mg/km and 11.65 mg/km, respectively. In contrast, the emission factors of PM2.5 and PM10 for tire wear particles were 0.21 mg/km and 1.27 mg/km, respectively. Moreover, this study provides insights and basic data for localizing and improving the emission model, which can enhance its applicability and accuracy.

Abstract
For achieving high-efficiency perovskite solar cells, it is almost always necessary to substantially passivate defects and protect the perovskite structure at its interfaces with charge transport layers. Such a modification generally involves the post-treatment of the deposited perovskite film by spin coating, which cannot meet the technical demands of scaling up the production of perovskite photovoltaics. In this work, we demonstrate one-step construction of buried and capped double 1D/3D heterojunctions without the need for any post-treatment, which is achieved through facile tetraethylammonium trifluoroacetate (TEATFA) prefunctionalization on the SnO2 substrate. The functional TEATFA salt is first deposited onto the SnO2 substrate and reacts on this buried interface. Once the FAPbI3 perovskite precursor solution is dripped, a portion of the TEA+ cations spontaneously diffuse to the top surface over film crystallization. The TEATFA-based water-resistant 1D/3D TEAPbI3/FAPbI3 heterojunctions at both the buried and capped interfaces lead to much better photovoltaic performance and higher operational stability. Since this approach saves the need for any postsynthesis passivation, its feasibility for the fabrication of large-area perovskite photovoltaics is also showcased. Compared to ∼15% for a pristine 5 cm × 5 cm FAPbI3 mini-module without postsynthesis passivation, over 20% efficiency is achieved following the proposed route, demonstrating its great potential for larger-scale fabrication with fewer processing steps.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Filaggrin (FLG) is an essential protein that plays a vital role in maintaining skin barrier function and moisture levels, allowing the skin to adapt to dry environments. However, the precise temporal dynamics of FLG metabolism in the human epidermis remain poorly understood, and suitable tools to study these time-dependent effects are currently lacking. OBJECTIVE To investigate the molecular mechanisms and time course of FLG metabolism and skin barrier function under high- and low-humidity conditions, utilizing a reconstructed epidermis model. METHODS EpiSkin specimens cultured under humid or dry conditions for varying durations (2-48 h) were compared by assessing FLG degradation and skin barrier formation using immunofluorescence staining and western blotting. RESULTS Under conditions of low humidity, the proteolysis of FLG in EpiSkin increased between 4 and 12 h and was accompanied by elevated levels of cysteine-aspartic protease (caspase)-14. The expression of peptidyl arginine deiminase 1 and calpain 1 also increased at 4 h. However, after 24 h, the expression of these three FLG-degrading proteins significantly decreased. Conversely, the levels of pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid and urocanic acid initially decreased at 2 h and then increased between 12 and 24 h. Additionally, the expression of skin barrier proteins, such as FLG, transglutaminase 5, loricrin and zonula occludens-1, decreased starting from 12 h. Notably, epidermal cell viability and activity were also inhibited. CONCLUSION We propose a reliable and ethical model to study the temporal dynamics of FLG metabolism and its role in skin barrier function. Using a commercially reconstructed epidermis to mimic dry skin formation obviates the need for animal and human testing.

Abstract
Ascites is the pathological accumulation of fluid within the peritoneal cavity. It often occurs as results of liver cirrhosis, malignant neoplasia, tuberculous infection, cardiac insufficiency, renal diseases, etc. Determining the etiology is an essential step in the management of patients with new-onset ascites. Abdominal paracentesis with appropriate ascitic fluid analysis is probably the most cost-effective method of determining the cause of ascites. We performed a literature search of PubMed and identified articles published in the field of ascites, to evaluate diagnostic values of various parameters in defining the etiologies of ascites and then provides diagnostic algorithm for patients with new-onset ascites. In patients with ascites, the constituent ratio of underlying etiology varies between developed and developing countries. It is a challenge to define the etiologies of ascites in developing countries. Routine ascitic fluid analysis should include the serum ascites albumin gradient (SAAG), total protein concentration, cell count and differential. Optional ascitic fluid analysis includes cholesterol, fluid culture, cytology, tumor markers, lactate dehydrogenase, adenosine deaminase (ADA), triglyceride, amylase, glucose, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), etc. Our review evaluated diagnostic values of the above parameters in defining the etiologies of ascites. Diagnostic algorithm established in this review would provide a practical and convenient diagnostic strategy for clinicians in diagnosing patients with new-onset ascites.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study evaluated whether anthropometric measurements and the five times sit-to-stand test could be used to identify dynapenia. The cut-off values of accurate screening tools for identifying dynapenia were also established. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a cross-sectional study conducted on individuals ≥ 60 years old (N = 529). All participants underwent handgrip strength measurement, anthropometric measurements and the five times sit-to-stand test. The participants whose handgrip strength was < 28 kg for men and < 18 kg for women were considered to have dynapenia. The association between the recorded variables and dynapenia was determined using logistic regression, and cut-off values were established by performing the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve analysis. RESULTS The prevalence of dynapenia was 35.42% in men and 25.61% in women. For males, both calf circumference (≤ 35.2 cm) and the five times sit-to-stand test (≥ 14.6 s) could be used as accurate tools for dynapenia. For females, only the five times sit-to-stand test (≥ 11.8 s) had sufficient accuracy to be used as a screening tool for dynapenia. CONCLUSIONS The five times sit-to-stand test was an accurate screening tool for identifying dynapenia. The calf circumference could be only used as a screening tool in males.

Abstract
Because of global warming, Earth's ecosystems have been experiencing more frequent and severe heatwaves. Heatwaves are expected to tip terrestrial carbon sequestration by elevating ecosystem respiration and suppressing gross primary productivity (GPP). Here, using the convergent cross-mapping technique, this study detected positive bidirectional causal effects between GPP and respiration in two unprecedented European heatwaves. Heatwaves enhanced the causal effect strength of GPP on respiration rather than respiration on GPP across 40 site-years of observations. Further analyses and global simulations revealed spatial heterogeneity in the heatwave response of the causal link strength between GPP and respiration, which was jointly driven by the local climate and vegetation properties. However, the causal effect strength of GPP on respiration showed considerable uncertainties in CMIP6 models. This study reveals an enhanced causal link strength between GPP and respiration during heatwaves, shedding light on improving projections for terrestrial carbon sink dynamics under future climate extremes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the feasibility of 0.2-mm isotropic lenticulostriate arteries (LSAs) imaging using compressed sensing time-of-flight (CS TOF) at around 10 min on 7T, and compare the delineation and characterization of LSAs using conventional TOF and CS TOF. METHODS Thirty healthy volunteers were examined with CS TOF and conventional TOF at 7T for around 10 min each. CS TOF was optimized to achieve 0.2-mm isotropic LSA imaging. The numbers of LSA stems and branches were counted and compared on a vascular skeleton. The length and distance were measured and compared on the most prominent branch in each hemisphere. Another patient with intracranial artery stenosis was studied to compare LSA delineation in CS TOF and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). RESULTS The number of stems visualized with CS TOF was significantly higher than with conventional TOF in both left (p = 0.002, ICC = 0.884) and right (p < 0.001, ICC = 0.938) hemispheres. The number of branches visualized by conventional TOF was significantly lower than that by CS TOF in both left (p < 0.001, ICC = 0.893) and right (p < 0.001, ICC = 0.896) hemispheres. The lengths were statistically higher in CS TOF than in conventional TOF (left: p < 0.001, ICC = 0.868; right: p < 0.001, ICC = 0.876). CONCLUSIONS The high-resolution CS TOF improves the delineation and characterization of LSAs over conventional TOF. High-resolution LSA imaging using CS TOF can be a promising tool for clinical research and applications in patients with neurologic diseases. KEY POINTS • 0.2-mm isotropic LSA imaging for around 10 min using CS TOF at 7T is feasible. • More stems and branches of LSAs with longer lengths can be delineated with CS TOF than with conventional TOF at the same scan time. • High-resolution CS TOF can be a promising tool for research and applications on LSA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Epidemiological studies show that outdoor artificial light at night (ALAN) is linked to metabolic hazards, but its association with metabolic syndrome (MetS) remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the association of outdoor ALAN with MetS in middle-aged and elderly Chinese. METHODS From 2017-2020, we conducted a cross-sectional study in a total of 109,452 participants living in ten cities of eastern China. MetS was defined by fasting blood glucose (FG), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), blood pressure (BP), and waist circumference (WC). In 2021, we followed up 4395 participants without MetS at the baseline. Each participant's five-year average exposure to outdoor ALAN, as well as their exposure to green space type, were measured through matching to their address. Generalized linear models were used to assess the associations of outdoor ALAN with MetS. Stratified analyses were performed by sex, age, region, physical activity, and exposure to green space. RESULTS In the cross-sectional study, compared to the first quantile (Q1) of outdoor ALAN exposure, the odds ratios (ORs) of MetS were 1.156 [95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.111-1.203] and 1.073 (95 %CI: 1.021-1.128) respectively in the third and fourth quantiles (Q3, Q4) of outdoor ALAN exposure. The follow-up study found that, compared to the first quantile (Q1) of outdoor ALAN exposure, the OR of MetS in Q4 of ALAN exposure was 1.204 (95 %CI: 1.019-1.422). Adverse associations of ALAN with MetS components, including high FG, high TG, and obesity, were also found. Greater associations of ALAN with MetS were found in males, the elderly, urban residents, those with low frequency of physical activity, and those living in areas with low levels of grass cover and tree cover. CONCLUSIONS Outdoor ALAN exposure is associated with an increased MetS risk, especially in males, the elderly, urban residents, those lacking physical activity, and those living in lower levels of grass cover and tree cover.

Abstract
Vehicular emissions, including both tailpipe exhaust and evaporative emissions, are major anthropogenic sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in urban cities. Current knowledge on vehicle tailpipe and evaporative emissions was mainly obtained via laboratory tests on very few vehicles under experimental conditions. Information on fleet gasoline vehicles emission features under real-world conditions is lacking. Here, VOC measurement was conducted in a large residential underground parking garage in Tianjin, China, to reveal the feature of the exhaust and evaporative emissions from real-world gasoline vehicle fleets. The VOC concentration in the parking garage was on average 362.7 ± 87.7 μg m-3, significantly higher than that in the ambient atmosphere at the same period (63.2 μg m-3). Aromatics and alkanes were the mainly contributors on both weekdays and weekends. A positive correlation between VOCs and traffic flow was observed, especially in the daytime. Source apportionment through the positive matrix factorization model (PMF) revealed that the tailpipe and evaporative emissions accounted for 43.2% and 33.7% of VOCs, respectively. Evaporative emission contributed 69.3% to the VOCs at night due to diurnal breathing loss from numerous parked cars. In contrast, tailpipe emission was most remarkable during morning rush hours. Based on the PMF results, we reconstructed a vehicle-related VOCs profile representing the combination of the tailpipe exhaust and evaporative emission from fleet-average gasoline vehicles, which could benefit future source apportionment studies.

Abstract
Background The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of computed tomography (CT)-guided hookwire localization and new CT-guided medical glue combined with methylene blue (MGMB) localization before video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) and to analyze the risk factors for complications after localization. Methods A total of 620 patients, comprising 727 SPNs, admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the First Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China between December 2019 and July 2022 were retrospectively studied and case-control analyzed. According to the localization method, 620 patients were divided into the hookwire group (n=310) and MGMB group (n=310). The localization time, localization-to-surgery interval, operative time, length of hospitalization, and complication rate were compared between the 2 groups. Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for the occurrence of complications in each group of localization methods. Results Compared to the hookwire group, the MGMB group had a shorter localization time (8.59±3.69 vs. 7.35±2.99 min; P<0.001), shorter hospital stay (5.60±2.13 vs. 6.73±2.86 days; P<0.001), and shorter operative time (103.48±54.11 vs. 98.59±49.92 min; P=0.33). The preoperative localization success rate was 99.4% (355/357) and 100% (370/370) in the hookwire group and MGMB group, respectively. No death or serious complications occurred during the localization process, but the overall complication rate was lower in the MGMB group (69/310, 22.3%) than in the hookwire group (105/310, 33.9%) (P<0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that age, number of nodules, and localization time were risk factors for total complications, while localization technique was a protective factor for total complications [odds ratio =0.590; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.405-0.860; P<0.05]. Conclusions Both techniques could effectively locate SPNs before VATS; however, MGMB localization was found to be associated with a lower complication rate, shorter localization time, better safety, and higher potential clinical value and is thus worthy of clinical promotion.

Abstract
In recent years, attention has been focused on the benefit of greenspace on mental health, and it is suggested this link may vary with the type of greenspace. More and more studies have emphasized the influence of the gut microbiome on schizophrenia (SCZ). However, the effects of greenspaces on the gut microbiota in SCZ and the effect of different types of greenspaces on the gut microbiota remain unclear. We aim to examine if there were variations in the effects of various greenspace types on the gut microbiome in SCZ. Besides, we sink to explore important taxonomic compositions associated with different greenspace types. We recruited 243 objects with schizophrenia from Anhui Mental Health Center and collected fecal samples for 16Sr RNA gene sequencing. Three types of greenery coverage were calculated with different circular buffers (800, 1500, and 3000 m) corresponding to individual addresses. The association between greenspace and microbiome composition was analyzed with permutational analysis of variance (PERMANOVA). We conducted the linear regression to capture specific gut microbiome taxa associated with greenery coverage. Tree coverage was consistently associated with microbial composition in both 1500 m (R2 = 0.007, P = 0.030) and 3000 m (R2 = 0.007, P = 0.039). In contrast, there was no association with grass cover in any of the buffer zones. In the regression analysis, higher tree coverage was significantly correlated with the relative abundance of several taxa. Among them, tree coverage was positively associated with increased Bifidobacterium longum (β = 1.069, P = 0.004), which was the dominant composition in the gut microbiota. The relationship between greenspace and gut microbiome in SCZ differed by the type of greenspace. Besides, "tree coverage" may present a dominant effect on the important taxonomic composition. Our findings might provide instructive evidence for the design of urban greenspace to optimize health and well-being in SCZ as well as the whole people.

Abstract
Background and aims Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is commonly utilized in the diagnosis of pancreatic tumors, although as this modality relies primarily on the practitioner's visual judgment, it is prone to result in a missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis due to inexperience, fatigue, or distraction. Deep learning (DL) techniques, which can be used to automatically extract detailed imaging features from images, have been increasingly beneficial in the field of medical image-based assisted diagnosis. The present systematic review included a meta-analysis aimed at evaluating the accuracy of DL-assisted EUS for the diagnosis of pancreatic tumors diagnosis. Methods We performed a comprehensive search for all studies relevant to EUS and DL in the following four databases, from their inception through February 2023: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. Target studies were strictly screened based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, after which we performed a meta-analysis using Stata 16.0 to assess the diagnostic ability of DL and compare it with that of EUS practitioners. Any sources of heterogeneity were explored using subgroup and meta-regression analyses. Results A total of 10 studies, involving 3,529 patients and 34,773 training images, were included in the present meta-analysis. The pooled sensitivity was 93% (95% confidence interval [CI], 87-96%), the pooled specificity was 95% (95% CI, 89-98%), and the area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was 0.98 (95% CI, 0.96-0.99). Conclusion DL-assisted EUS has a high accuracy and clinical applicability for diagnosing pancreatic tumors. Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a heterogeneous disease with a myriad of alterations at the cellular and molecular levels. Kristen rat sarcoma (KRAS) mutations occur in up to 40% of CRCs and serve as both a prognostic and predictive biomarker. Oncogenic mutations in the KRAS protein affect cellular proliferation and survival, leading to tumorigenesis through RAS/MAPK pathways. Until recently, only indirect targeting of the pathway had been investigated. There are now several KRAS allele-specific inhibitors in late-phase clinical trials, and many newer agents and targeting strategies undergoing preclinical and early-phase clinical testing. The adequate treatment of KRAS-mutated CRC will inevitably involve combination therapies due to the existence of robust adaptive resistance mechanisms in these tumors. In this article, we review the most recent understanding and findings related to targeting KRAS mutations in CRC, mechanisms of resistance to KRAS inhibitors, as well as evolving treatment strategies for KRAS-mutated CRC patients.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of breast myofibroblastoma. Methods: The clinicopathological data and prognostic information of 15 patients with breast myofibroblastoma diagnosed at the Department of Pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China from 2014 to 2022 were collected. Their clinical characteristics, histological subtypes, immunophenotypes and molecular characteristics were analyzed. Results: There were 12 female and 3 male patients, ranging in age from 18 to 78 years, with a median and average age of 52 years. There were 6 cases in the left breast and 9 cases in the right breast, including 12 cases in outer upper quadrant, 2 cases in inner upper quadrant and 1 case in outer lower quadrant. Most of the cases showed a well-defined nodule grossly, including pushing growth under the microscope in 13 cases, being completely separated from the surrounding breast tissue in 1 case, and infiltrating growth in 1 case. Among them, 12 cases were classic subtype and composed of occasional spindle cells with varying intervals of collagen fiber bundles; eight cases had a small amount of fat; one case had focal cartilage differentiation; one case was epithelioid subtype, in which epithelioid tumor cells were scattered in single filing or small clusters; one case was schwannoma-like subtype, and the tumor cells were arranged in a significant palisade shape, resembling schwannoma, and one case was invasive leiomyoma-like subtype, in which the tumor cells had eosinophilic cytoplasm and were arranged in bundles, and infiltrating into the surrounding mammary lobules like leiomyoma. Immunohistochemical studies showed that the tumor cells expressed desmin (14/15) and CD34 (14/15), as well as ER (15/15) and PR (15/15). Three cases with histologic subtypes of epithelioid subtype, schwannoma-like subtype and infiltrating leiomyoma-like subtype showed RB1 negative immunohistochemistry. Then FISH was performed to detect RB1/13q14 gene deletion, and identified RB1 gene deletion in all three cases. Fifteen cases were followed up for 2-100 months, and no recurrence was noted. Conclusions: Myofibroblastoma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor of the breast. In addition to the classic type, there are many histological variants, among which the epithelioid subtype is easily confused with invasive lobular carcinoma. The schwannoma-like subtype is similar to schwannoma, while the invasive subtype is easily misdiagnosed as fibromatosis-like or spindle cell metaplastic carcinoma. Therefore, it is important to recognize the various histological subtypes and clinicopathological features of the tumor for making correct pathological diagnosis and rational clinical treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Difficult bile duct intubation is a big challenge for endoscopists during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedure. We report a case of percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD)-guided methylene blue for fistulotomy using dual-knife for bile duct intubation.
CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old male patient had developed obstructive jaundice, and ERCP procedure need to be performed to treat the obstructive jaundice. But intubation cannot be performed if the duodenal papilla cannot be identified because of previous surgery for a perforated descending duodenal diverticulum. We used PTCD-guided methylene blue to identify the intramural common bile duct before dual-knife fistulotomy, and bile duct intubation was successfully completed.
CONCLUSION The method that combing methylene blue and dual-knife fistulotomy to achieve bile duct intubation during difficult ERCP is safe and effective.

Abstract
Phosphate is one of the essential mineral nutrients. Phosphate transporter genes (PHTs) play an important role in Pi acquisition and homeostasis in tomato plants. However, basic biological information on PHT genes and their responses of symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal in the genome remains largely unknown. We analyzed the physiological changes and PHT gene expression in tomatoes (Micro-Tom) inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi (Funneliformis mosseae) under different phosphate conditions (P1: 0 µM, P2: 25 µM, and P3: 200 µM Pi). Twenty-three PHT genes were identified in the tomato genomics database. Protein sequence alignment further divided the 23 PHT genes into three groups, with similar classifications of exons and introns. Good colonization of plants was observed under low phosphate conditions (25 µM Pi), and Pi stress and AM fungi significantly affected P and N accumulation and root morphological plasticity. Moreover, gene expression data showed that genes in the SlPHT1 (SlPT3, SlPT4, and SlPT5) gene family were upregulated by Funneliformis mosseae under all conditions, which indicated that these gene levels were significantly increased with AM fungi inoculation. None of the analyzed SlPHT genes in the SlPH2, SlPHT3, SlPHT4, and SlPHO gene families were changed at any Pi concentration. Our results indicate that inoculation with AM fungi mainly altered the expression of the PHT1 gene family. These results will lay a foundation for better understanding the molecular mechanisms of inorganic phosphate transport under AM fungi inoculation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND HYPOTHESIS The burden of schizophrenia is increasing. Assessing the global distribution of schizophrenia and understanding the association between urbanization factors and schizophrenia are crucial. STUDY DESIGN We conducted a two-stage analysis utilizing public data from GBD (global burden of disease) 2019 and the World Bank. First, the distribution of schizophrenia burden at the global, regional, and national levels as well as temporal trends was analyzed. Then, four composite indicators of urbanization (including demographic, spatial, economic, and eco-environment urbanization) were constructed from ten basic indicators. Panel data models were used to explore the relationship between urbanization indicators and the burden of schizophrenia. RESULTS In 2019, there were 23.6 million people with schizophrenia, an increase of 65.85% from 1990, and the country with the largest ASDR (age-standardized disability adjusted life years rate) was the United States of America, followed by Australia, and New Zealand. Globally, the ASDR of schizophrenia rose with the sociodemographic index (SDI). In addition, six basic urbanization indicators including urban population proportion, employment in industry/services proportion, urban population density, the population proportion in the largest city, GDP, and PM2.5 concentration were positively associated with ASDR of schizophrenia, with the largest coefficients being urban population density. Overall, demographic, spatial, economic, and eco-environment urbanization all had positive effects on schizophrenia, and the estimated coefficients indicated that demographic urbanization was the most significant influence. CONCLUSIONS This study provided a comprehensive description of the global burden of schizophrenia and explored urbanization as a factor contributing to the variation in the burden of schizophrenia, and highlighted policy priorities for schizophrenia prevention in the context of urbanization.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EHCC) treated by percutaneous transhepatic biliary stenting (PTBS) combined with 125I seed intracavitary irradiation and further develop a predictive model related to SII. Methods A total of 145 patients with EHCC who received PTBS combined with 125I seed implantation were retrospectively analyzed. The optimal cut-off value of SII was identified by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox regression were applied to estimate the prognostic value of SII and identify other significant factors of overall survival (OS). Additionally, a novel nomogram was constructed. The concordance index (C-index), calibration plots and decision curve analysis were used to evaluate the performance of the nomogram model. Results The optimal cut-off value for preoperative SII of 890.2 stratified the patients into High-SII (H-SII) and Low-SII (L-SII) groups. Univariate and multivariate analyses demonstrated that SII was an independent factor for OS. We also found that better therapeutic effect could be obtained with combined postoperative chemotherapy (P < 0.001). Moreover, we revealed that elevated preoperative CA19-9 (P = 0.038) and TBIL level (P = 0.024) were reason for poor prognosis of EHCC. A well-discriminated and calibrated nomogram was developed to predict the 1-year and 2-year OS of EHCC (C-index: 0.709). Conclusion The SII may be a feasible and convenient prognosis predictor for EHCC. The comprehensive nomogram based on SII presented in this study is a promising model for predicting OS in EHCC patients after PTBS combined with 125I seed intracavitary irradiation.

Abstract
AIMS Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc is one of the commonly used herbs for the treatment of gouty arthritis, and polydatin is one of its main effective components. This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of polydatin for the treatment of gout. MAIN METHODS The ankle joint of C57BL/6 mice were injected with MSU suspensions to simulate human gouty arthritis, and oral treatment with polydatin (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg body weight) was performed at 1 h after MSU crystal injection. The effect of polydatin on model mice was evaluated by measuring ankle swelling, gait, histopathological analysis, proinflammatory cytokine expression, as well as the contents of NO, MDA and GSH. The targets of polydatin were explored by Real-Time PCR and IHC. KEY FINDINGS Treatment with polydatin inhibited ankle swelling, improved abnormal gait, and reduced ankle lesions dose-dependently. Moreover, polydatin decreased pro-inflammatory cytokine expression, and promoted expression of anti-inflammatory cytokine. In addition, polydatin inhibited MSU-induced oxidative stress by decreasing oxidative product (NO, MDA) generation and promote the antioxidant (GSH). Further, we found that polydatin reduced inflammation by decreasing the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome component via activating PPAR-γ. Moreover, polydatin can protect against iron overload and attenuate oxidative stress by promoting the activation of ferritin. SIGNIFICANCE Our findings indicates that polydatin ameliorates MSU-induced inflammation and oxidative stress by regulating PPAR-γ and ferritin activation in gouty arthritis model mice, and this research result suggests that polydatin has therapeutic potential for the treatment of gout in humans through multiple targets.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the efficacy, feasibility, and safety of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) as a treatment for patients with recurrent portal hypertension with variceal bleeding (RPHVB) who have previously undergone open splenectomy and esophagogastric devascularization (OSED). METHODS The data were retrospectively retrieved from 39 cirrhotic RPHVB patients who had undergone OSED from August 2015 to December 2020. All patients were treated with TIPS using the Viabahn stent. RESULTS Out of the 39 patients included in the study, TIPS was successfully performed in 38 patients with a success rate of 97.44%. One patient had a failed attempt due to cavernous transformation of the portal vein (CTPV). Among the 38 patients who underwent TIPS, 33 patients also underwent varicose vein embolization, while the remaining 5 patients only underwent TIPS procedure. A total of 39 Viabahn stents were implanted, with 5 patients receiving stents expanded to their nominal diameter of 8 mm and the remaining 33 patients having their shunt maintained at a diameter of 6 mm. The postoperative hemostasis rate was 97.37% (37/38). The portal vein pressure (PVP) and portal pressure gradient (PPG) decreased significantly from (31.28 ± 6.24) and (20.61 ± 5.14) mmHg to (19.58 ± 4.69) and (9.24 ± 3.07) mmHg, respectively (P < 0.001). During the follow-up period, the rebleeding rate was 6.09% (2/29), while the incidence of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and shunt dysfunction was 13.79% (4/29) for each. CONCLUSION Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt is an effective, feasible and safe treatment for RPHVB patients who have previously undergone OSED. A satisfactory clinical outcome could be achieved with a 6 mm-diameter shunt in most patients.

Abstract
Speed optimization of the vehicle is an efficient technique to address road traffic energy consumption issues. This paper constructed the energy conservation equation of the moving vehicle based on the energy flow principle and clarified the difference between it and the vehicle specific power model. The optimal speed models based on the minimum temporal and spatial energy consumption were built with the optimization principle, and the optimal speed was derived with the road, vehicle, and environment as constraints. By comparing the measured data of on-road experiment, the optimal speed models can increase the speed by 31.3%, decrease the delay by 21.4%, and reduce the vehicle energy consumption power by 42.9% and energy consumption by 36.7%. The power is minimum when the vehicle moves at time-optimal speed. The energy consumption is minimum when the vehicle moves at space-optimal speed. The energy-saving effect Recall of optimal speed is 0.78. Research can provide theoretical support for urban road traffic energy-saving strategies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although studies have explored the relationship between sunshine duration and schizophrenia, the evidence was ambiguous. Different built environments may alter the effect of sunlight on schizophrenia, thus the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of built environments on the sunshine duration-schizophrenia association. MATERIALS AND METHODS Daily schizophrenia hospitalizations data during 2017-2020 in Hefei's main urban area, China, and corresponding meteorological factors as well as ambient pollutants were collected. The impact of sunshine duration on schizophrenia admissions in urban areas was investigated using a generalized additive model combined with a distributed lagged nonlinear model. Additionally, the various modifying effects of different Building Density, Building Height, Normalized Vegetation Index, and Nighttime Light were also explored between sunshine duration and schizophrenia. RESULTS We observed that inadequate sunshine duration (<5.3 h) was associated with an increase in schizophrenia hospital admissions, with a maximum relative risk of 1.382 (95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.069-1.786) at 2.9 h. In turn, adequate sunshine duration reduced the risk of schizophrenia hospitalizations. Subgroup analyses indicated females and old patients were particularly vulnerable. In the case of insufficient sunshine duration, significant positive effects were noticed on schizophrenia risk at High-Building Density and High-Nighttime Light. Higher NDVI as well as Building Height were found to be associated with lower risks of schizophrenia. CONCLUSIONS Given that sunshine duration in various built environments might lead to distinct effects on schizophrenia hospitalizations. Our findings assist in identifying vulnerable populations that reside in particular areas, thus suggesting policymakers provide advice to mitigate the onset of schizophrenia by allocating healthcare resources rationally and avoiding adverse exposures to vulnerable populations timely.

Abstract
Background Esophageal cancer (EC) is one of the most common malignant tumor types. Surgery is considered the treatment of choice for patients with early- and mid-stage EC. However, because of the traumatic nature of EC surgery and the need for gastrointestinal reconstruction, high rates of postoperative complications such as anastomotic leakage or stenosis, esophageal reflux, and pulmonary infection exist. Its time to explore a novel esophagogastric anastomosis method for McKeown EC surgery to reduce the postoperative complication. Methods This study recruited a total of 544 patients who underwent McKeown resection for EC between January 2017 and August 2020. The tubular stapler-assisted nested anastomosis was taken as the time node, including 212 patients in the traditional tubular mechanical anastomosis group and 332 patients in the tubular stapler-assisted nested anastomosis group. The 6-month postoperative incidence of anastomotic fistula and anastomotic stenosis was recorded. Anastomosis in McKeown operation for EC and the influence of different anastomosis methods on clinical efficacy were investigated. Results Compared with traditional mechanical anastomosis, tubular stapler-assisted nested anastomosis had a lower incidence of anastomotic fistula (0% vs. 5.2%), lung infection (3.3% vs. 11.8%), gastroesophageal reflux (6.9% vs. 16.0%), anastomotic stenosis (3.0% vs. 10.4%), neck incision infection (0.9% vs. 7.1%), anastomositis (16.6% vs. 23.6%), and a shorter surgical duration (11.02±1.54 vs. 18.53±3.20 min). Statistical significance was indicated at P<0.05. No significant difference was detected in the incidence of arrhythmia, recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, or chylothorax between the 2 groups. Due to its good effect in McKeown surgery for EC, stapler-assisted nested anastomosis has been widely used in McKeown surgery for EC, and has become a common anastomosis method in our department for McKeown surgery for EC. However, large sample-sized studies and long-term efficacy observation are still needed. Conclusions The use of tubular stapler-assisted nested anastomosis can significantly reduce the incidence of complications such as anastomotic fistula, anastomotic stricture, gastroesophageal reflux, and pulmonary infection; therefore, it constitutes the preferred technique for cervical anastomosis in McKeown esophagogastrectomy.

Abstract
Cellular protein synthesis is accelerated in human colorectal cancer (CRC), and high expression of protein synthesis regulators in CRC patients is associated with poor prognosis. Thus, inhibition of protein synthesis may be an effective therapeutic strategy for CRC. We previously demonstrated that the quassinoid bruceantinol (BOL) had antitumor activity against CRC. Herein, potent tumor growth suppression (>80%) and STAT3 inhibition was observed in two different mouse models following BOL administration. Loss of body and spleen weight was observed but was eliminated upon nanoparticle encapsulation while maintaining strong antitumor activity. STAT3 siRNA knockdown exhibited modest suppression of cell proliferation. Surprisingly, STAT3 inhibition using a PROTAC degrader (SD-36) had little effect on cancer cell proliferation suggesting the possibility of additional mechanism(s) of action for quassinoids. BOL-resistant (BR) cell lines, HCT116BR and HCA7BR, were equally sensitive to standard CRC therapeutic agents and known STAT3 inhibitors but resistant to homoharringtonine (HHT), a known protein synthesis inhibitor. The ability of quassinoids to inhibit protein synthesis was dependent on the structure of the C15 sidechain. Of note, BOL did not inhibit protein synthesis in normal human colon epithelial cells whereas HHT and napabucasin remained effective in these normal cells. Novel quassinoids were designed, synthesized, and evaluated in pre-clinical CRC models. Treatment with the most potent analog, 5c, resulted in significant inhibition of cell proliferation and protein synthesis at nanomolar concentrations. These quassinoid analogs may represent a novel class of protein synthesis inhibitors for the treatment of human CRC.

Abstract
Synergism between hierarchical zeolites and alumina in the preparation of active Mo catalysts, as a function of composition ratios, has been demonstrated in the cross-metathesis reaction between ethene and 2-butene. The metathesis reaction activity, reflected by ethene conversion, increases from 24.1% to 49.2% with the increase in the alumina content in composites from 10 wt% to 30 wt%. A further increase in the alumina content leads to the reduction in the metathesis activity, in which the ethene conversion decreases from 30.3% to 4.8% upon the enhanced alumina content from 50 wt% to 90 wt%. The impact of alumina content on the metathesis activity is closely associated with the interaction mode between the hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolite and alumina. TEM observation as well as EDS analysis and XPS results prove the progressive coating of alumina phase on the surface of zeolites along with the progressive enhancement of alumina content. The moderate alumina content in the composite enables the desired interaction between hierarchical zeolites and alumina, which is beneficial for the preparation of active catalysts for the alkene cross-metathesis reaction.

Abstract
In recent years, the active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays have been greatly required. A voltage compensation pixel circuit based on an amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide thin-film transistor is presented for AMOLED displays. The circuit is composed of five transistors-two capacitors (5T2C) in combination with an OLED. In the circuit, the threshold voltages of both the transistor and the OLED are extracted simultaneously in the threshold voltage extraction stage, and the mobility-related discharge voltage is generated in the data input stage. The circuit not only can compensate the electrical characteristics variation, i.e., the threshold voltage variation and mobility variation, but also can compensate the OLED degradation. Furthermore, the circuit can prevent the OLED flicker, and can achieve the wide data voltage range. The circuit simulation results show that the OLED current error rates (CERs) are lower than 3.89% when the transistor's threshold voltage variation is ±0.5V, lower than 3.49% when the mobility variation is ±30%.

Abstract
With the accumulation of research evidence and clinical experience, an increasing number of patients benefit from vascular recanalization therapies. Although successful recanalization of the occluded artery has been achieved, neurological deficits persist after endovascular treatment, which defined as"futile reperfusion". Compared with the successful recanalization, successful reperfusion predicts final infarct size and clinical outcome more accurately. At present, the known influencing factors of futile reperfusion include older age, female, high baseline National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) score, hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, reperfusion treatment strategy, large infarction core volume, and collateral circulation status. The incidence of futile reperfusion in China is significantly higher than that in western population. However, few studies focused on its mechanism and influencing factors. To date, many clinical studies have attempted to reduce the occurrence of futile recanalization regarding antiplatelet therapy, blood pressure management and treatment process improvement. However, only one effective measure has been achieved in blood pressure management: systolic blood pressure control below 120 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) should be avoided after successful recanalization. Therefore, future studies are warranted to promote the establishment and maintenance of collateral circulation, as well as neuroprotective therapy.

Abstract
The state of interface adhesion, as measured by the void ratio, is a critical factor affecting the adhesion strength and heat dissipation efficiency of a system. However, non-destructive and rapid detection of the adhesion process remains a challenge. In this study, we used all-atom molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the interfacial thermal conductance of silicon and polymer at various adhesion void ratios, with the aim of achieving non-destructive and rapid detection of the adhesion process. Our results demonstrate a linear relationship between the interfacial thermal conductance and effective contact area at different temperatures, enabling the numerical value of interfacial thermal conductance to serve as an indicator of interfacial adhesion state. Furthermore, we also output the surface temperature of the adhesive interface. The non-uniformity of the surface temperature evolution can be used to identify the location of bubbles on the adhesive surface, which further reflects the bonding state of the interface. This project presents a novel approach and research framework for the non-destructive and rapid testing of the adhesion processes.

Abstract
The usage of hierarchical MFI zeolite enables the boosting catalytic performance of Mo-based catalysts for the olefin-metathesis reaction. The harvest of active catalysts roots from a segmental evolution track between hierarchical zeolite and Al2O3 slices for the fabrication of active sites. The working evolution track requires the indispensable engagements from intracrystalline mesoporous surface, Al2O3 slices and zeolitic Brønsted acid sites. The infilling of disaggregated Al2O3 slices into the intracrystalline mesopores triggers the creation of localized intrazeolite-Al2O3 interface, which enable the subsequent migration and trapping of surface molybdates into the micropores. The insulation of intrazeolite-Al2O3 interface or shielding of zeolitic Brønsted acid sites leads to the break of the evolution track. Our findings disclose the hidden functionality of mesoporosity as intrazeolite interface boundary for the fabrication of active sites and supply the new strategy for the rational design of zeolite catalysts.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Currently, most epidemiological studies on haze focus on respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, etc. However, the relationship between haze and mental health has not been adequately explored. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of hazes on schizophrenia admissions and to further explore the potential interaction effect with the combined atmospheric oxidative indices (Ox and Oxwt). METHODS We collected 5328 cases during the cold season from 2013 to 2015 in Hefei, China. By integrating the Poisson Generalized Linear Models with the Distributed Lag Non-linear Models, the association between haze and schizophrenia admissions was evaluated. The interaction between hazes and two combined oxidation indexes was tested by stratifying hazes and Ox, and Oxwt. RESULTS Haze was found to be significantly linked to an increased risk of hospitalization for schizophrenia, and a 9-day lag effect on schizophrenia (lag 3-lag 11), with the largest effect on lag 6 (RR = 1.080, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.046-1.116). Males, females, and <40 y (people under 40 years old) were sensitive to hazes. Furthermore, in the stratified analysis, we found synergies between two combined oxidation indexes and hazes. The interaction relative risk (IRR) and relative excess risk due to interaction (RERI) between Ox and hazes were 1.170 (95% CI: 1.071-1.277) and 0.149 (95% CI: 0.045-0.253), respectively. For Oxwt, the IRR and RERI were 1.179 (95% CI: 1.087-1.281) and 0.159 (95% CI: 0.056-0.263), respectively. It is noteworthy that this synergistic effect was significant in males and <40 y when examining the various subgroups in the interaction analysis. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that exposure to haze significantly increases the risk of hospitalization for schizophrenia. More significant public health benefits can be obtained by prioritizing haze periods with high combined atmospheric oxidation capacity.

Abstract
Aurora kinase A (Aurora-A), a serine/threonine kinase, plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes, including mitotic entry, centrosome maturation and spindle formation. Overexpression or gene-amplification/mutation of Aurora-A kinase occurs in different types of cancer, including lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and breast cancer. Alteration of Aurora-A impacts multiple cancer hallmarks, especially, immortalization, energy metabolism, immune escape and cell death resistance which are involved in cancer progression and resistance. This review highlights the most recent advances in the oncogenic roles and related multiple cancer hallmarks of Aurora-A kinase-driving cancer therapy resistance, including chemoresistance (taxanes, cisplatin, cyclophosphamide), targeted therapy resistance (osimertinib, imatinib, sorafenib, etc.), endocrine therapy resistance (tamoxifen, fulvestrant) and radioresistance. Specifically, the mechanisms of Aurora-A kinase promote acquired resistance through modulating DNA damage repair, feedback activation bypass pathways, resistance to apoptosis, necroptosis and autophagy, metastasis, and stemness. Noticeably, our review also summarizes the promising synthetic lethality strategy for Aurora-A inhibitors in RB1, ARID1A and MYC gene mutation tumors, and potential synergistic strategy for mTOR, PAK1, MDM2, MEK inhibitors or PD-L1 antibodies combined with targeting Aurora-A kinase. In addition, we discuss the design and development of the novel class of Aurora-A inhibitors in precision medicine for cancer treatment.
