Abstract
The inflammatory response is tightly regulated to eliminate invading pathogens and avoid excessive production of inflammatory mediators and tissue damage. Caspase-8 is a cysteine protease that is involved in programmed cell death. Here we show the TRIF-RIPK1-Caspase-8 is required for LPS-induced CYLD degradation in macrophages. TRIF functions in the upstream of RIPK1. The homotypic interaction motif of TRIF and the death domain of RIPK1 are essential for Caspase-8 activation. Caspase-8 cleaves CYLD and the D235A mutant is resistant to the protease activity of Caspase-8. TRIF and RIPK1 serve as substrates of Capase-8 in vitro. cFLIP interacts with Caspase-8 to modulate its protease activity on CYLD and cell death. Deficiency in TRIF, Caspase-8 or CYLD can lead to a decrease or increase in the expression of genes encoding inflammatory cytokines. Together, the TRIF-Caspase-8 and CYLD play opposite roles in the regulation of TLR4 signalling.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection has been associated with gastric carcinogenesis. However, the precise involvement of LRP8, the low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 8, in H. pylori pathogenesis and gastric cancer (GC) remains poorly understood. OBJECTIVES To investigate the potential roles of LRP8 in H. pylori infection and gastric carcinogenesis. METHODS Three-dimensional human-derived gastric organoids (hGO) and gastric cancer organoids (hGCO) were synthesized from the tissues obtained from human donors. In this work, multi-omics combined with in vivo and in vitro studies were conducted to investigate the potential involvement of LRP8 in H. pylori-induced GC. RESULTS We found that H. pylori infection significantly upregulated the expression of LRP8 in human GC tissues, cells, organoids, and mouse gastric mucous. In particular, LRP8 exhibited a distinct enrichment in cancer stem cells (CSC). Functionally, silencing of LRP8 affected the formation and proliferation of tumor spheroids, while increased expression of LRP8 was associated with increased proliferation and stemness of GC cells and organoids. Mechanistically, LRP8 promotes the binding of E-cadherin to β-catenin, thereby promoting nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity of β-catenin. Furthermore, LRP8 interacts with the cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) to form the CagA/LRP8/β-catenin complex. This complex further amplifies H. pylori-induced β-catenin nuclear translocation, leading to increased transcription of inflammatory factors and CSC markers. Clinical analysis demonstrated that abnormal overexpression of LRP8 is correlated with a poor prognosis and resistance to 5-Fluorouracil in patients with GC. CONCLUSION Our findings provide valuable information on the molecular intricacies of H. pylori-induced gastric carcinogenesis, offering potential therapeutic targets and prognostic markers for GC.

Abstract
In the realm of human motion recognition systems, the augmentation of 3D human pose data plays a pivotal role in enriching and enhancing the quality of original datasets through the generation of synthetic data. This augmentation is vital for addressing the current research gaps in diversity and complexity, particularly when dealing with rare or complex human movements. Our study introduces a groundbreaking approach employing Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), coupled with Support Vector Machine (SVM) and DenseNet, further enhanced by robot-assisted technology to improve the precision and efficiency of data collection. The GANs in our model are responsible for generating highly realistic and diverse 3D human motion data, while SVM aids in the effective classification of this data. DenseNet is utilized for the extraction of key features, facilitating a comprehensive and integrated approach that significantly elevates both the data augmentation process and the model's ability to process and analyze complex human movements. The experimental outcomes underscore our model's exceptional performance in motion quality assessment, showcasing a substantial improvement over traditional methods in terms of classification accuracy and data processing efficiency. These results validate the effectiveness of our integrated network model, setting a solid foundation for future advancements in the field. Our research not only introduces innovative methodologies for 3D human pose data enhancement but also provides substantial technical support for practical applications across various domains, including sports science, rehabilitation medicine, and virtual reality. By combining advanced algorithmic strategies with robotic technologies, our work addresses key challenges in data augmentation and motion quality assessment, paving the way for new research and development opportunities in these critical areas.

Abstract
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) is a known tumor suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but its expression is repressed in HCC and the underlying mechanism is unclear. In this study, we investigated the epigenetic mechanisms of CYP1A2 repression and potential therapeutic implications. In HCC tumor tissues, the methylation rates of CYP1A2 CpG island (CGI) and DNMT3A protein levels were significantly higher, and there was a clear negative correlation between DNMT3A and CYP1A2 protein expression. Knockdown of DNMT3A by siRNA significantly increased CYP1A2 expression in HCC cells. Additionally, treating HCC cells with decitabine (DAC) resulted in a dose-dependent upregulation of CYP1A2 expression by reducing the methylation level of CYP1A2 CGI. Furthermore, we observed a decreased enrichment of H3K27Ac in the promoter region of CYP1A2 in HCC tissues. Treatment with the trichostatin A (TSA) restored CYP1A2 expression in HCC cells by increasing H3K27Ac levels in the CYP1A2 promoter region. Importantly, combination treatment of sorafenib with DAC or TSA resulted in a leftward shift of the dose-response curve, lower IC50 values, and reduced colony numbers in HCC cells. Our findings suggest that hypermethylation of the CGI at the promoter, mediated by the high expression of DNMT3A, and hypoacetylation of H3K27 in the CYP1A2 promoter region, leads to CYP1A2 repression in HCC. Epigenetic drugs DAC and TSA increase HCC cell sensitivity to sorafenib by restoring CYP1A2 expression. Our study provides new insights into the epigenetic regulation of CYP1A2 in HCC and highlights the potential of epigenetic drugs as a therapeutic approach for HCC. Significance Statement This study marks the first exploration of the epigenetic mechanisms underlying CYP1A2 suppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Our findings reveal that heightened Dnmt3a expression induces hypermethylation of the CGI at the promoter, coupled with diminished H3K27Ac levels, resulting in the repression of CYP1A2 in HCC. The use of epigenetic drugs such as decitabine (DAC) and trichostatin A (TSA) emerges as a novel therapeutic avenue, demonstrating their potential to restore CYP1A2 expression and enhance sorafenib sensitivity in HCC cells.

Abstract
AIM While insulin sensitivity plays an important role in maintaining glucose metabolic homeostasis and cognitive function, its impact on postoperative delirium (POD) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the association between POD and indicators of insulin sensitivity, including insulin resistance and osteocalcin. METHODS A total of 120 elderly patients undergoing joint replacement were recruited and divided into delirium and non-delirium groups. Plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were collected for the analysis of biomarkers, including insulin, uncarboxylated osteocalcin (ucOC), total osteocalcin (tOC), and glucose. Insulin resistance was assessed through the homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). MAIN RESULTS Out of the total, 28 patients (23.3%) experienced POD within 5 days after surgery. Patients with delirium exhibited higher levels of preoperative HOMA-IR and ucOC in CSF and plasma, and of tOC in CSF (P = 0.028, P < 0.001, P = 0.005, P = 0.019). After adjusting for variables, including age, Mini-Mental State Examination score, surgical site and preoperative fracture, only preoperative ucOC in CSF and HOMA-IR were significantly linked to the incidence of delirium (OR = 5.940, P = 0.008; OR = 1.208, P = 0.046, respectively), both of which also correlated with the severity of delirium (P = 0.007, P < 0.001). Receiver operating curve analysis indicated that preoperative HOMA-IR and ucOC in CSF might partly predict POD (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.697, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.501-0.775, AUC = 0.745, 95% CI = 0.659-0.860). CONCLUSIONS We observed that preoperative elevated HOMA-IR and ucOC in CSF were associated with the incidence and severity of POD. While these preliminary results need confirmation, they suggest a potential involvement of insulin resistance and osteocalcin in the pathological mechanism of POD. Abstract
BACKGROUND Ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) is a common obstructive disease of the urinary tract. UPJO patients commonly exhibit coexistent renal calculi. The main aim of therapy is to relieve the obstruction and remove the stones at the same time. METHODS This retrospective study included 110 patients diagnosed with UPJO coexisting with multiple renal calculi at Shanxi Bethune Hospital and the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between March 2016 and January 2022. Patients were divided according to the methods used for dealing with UPJO and renal calculi. In Group A, patients underwent traditional open pyeloplasty and pyelolithotomy. In Group B, patients underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy first and then laparoscopic pyeloplasty. In Group C, patients underwent flexible cystoscopy to remove stones and then laparoscopic pyeloplasty. In Group D, patients underwent flexible vacuum-assisted ureteral access sheath (FV-UAS)assisted flexible ureteroscopy (f-URS) and underwent laparoscopic pyeloplasty. The stones were broken up using a holmium laser. The pyeloplasty success rate, stone clearance rate, operation time, bleeding amount, complication occurrence rate, postsurgical pain, length of stay, and hospitalization cost were compared between the groups. The follow-up period was at least 2 years. RESULTS The use of f-URS and the FV-UAS, significantly increased the renal stone clearance rate and significantly reduced the complication incidence and operation time in UPJO patients with multiple coexisting renal calculi. CONCLUSIONS Laparoscopic pyeloplasty combined with f-URS and FV-UAS is safe and effective for treating UPJO in patients complicated by renal caliceal stones. Abstract
ZNF131 is a Zinc finger protein that acts as a transcription factor with oncogenic effects in multiple cancers. In this study, we aimed to explore the alternative splicing profile of ZNF131 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), its regulatory effects on cell-cycle progression, and the downstream effectors. ZNF131 transcriptional profile and HCC survival analysis were conducted using data from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-Liver Hepatocellular Cancer (LIHC) dataset. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP)-qPCR and dual-luciferase reporter assays were utilized to explore transcriptional regulation. CCK-8, colony formation and xenograft tumor models were used to study HCC tumor growth. Results showed that ZNF131 isoform 2 is upregulated in HCC tissues and its upregulation was associated with unfavorable overall survival (OS) and progression-free interval (PFI). Knockdown of endogenous ZNF131 inhibits HCC cell growth and induces G2/M cell-cycle arrest. ZNF131 binds to the SMC4 promoter by interacting with ZBTB33 and the ZBTB33 recognizing motif. ZNF131 transcriptionally activates SMC4 expression in HCC cells. The tumor-suppressive effects of ZNF131 shRNA could be partially reversed by enforced SMC4 overexpression. In summary, this study highlights the ZNF131/ZBTB33/SMC4 axis as a driver of pathological cell cycling and proliferation in HCC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Epidemiologic studies have examined the association between dietary fatty acids and type 2 diabetes risk in general populations. Evidence regarding their associations with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) risk remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate prepregnancy fatty acids intake in relation to GDM risk. METHODS 3,725 pregnant women from the Xi'an Birth Cohort Study who were free of previous GDM or pre-existing chronic diseases were included. Dietary intake of total fat and individual fatty acids (including saturated fatty acids [SFA], monounsaturated fatty acids [MUFA], polyunsaturated fatty acids [PUFA], and trans fatty acids) during the year preceding pregnancy was assessed by a validated food-frequency questionnaire before 16 weeks of gestation. GDM was confirmed based on the 75-g oral glucose tolerance test. Log-binomial or modified Poisson regression models were applied to estimate the relative risks (RRs) and 95 % confidence intervals (95%CIs) of GDM for fatty acids intake. Generalized linear regression was adopted for blood glucose levels with fatty acids intake. RESULTS 644 (17.3 %) incident GDM cases were confirmed in our study. Participants in the highest intake of total fat substituting for carbohydrates had a 33 % reduced risk of GDM than those in the lowest intake (RR:0.67; 95%CI:0.55,0.81). For individual fatty acids, only PUFA intake was associated with a lower risk of GDM, with RR comparing extreme tertiles of 0.61 (95%CI:0.49,0.76). Each 2 % increase in energy from total fat and PUFA replacing carbohydrates decreased the risk of GDM by 6 % (95%CI:3 %,9 %) and 15 % (95%CI:9 %,21 %), respectively. Similar inverse associations with intake of total fat and PUFA were observed for blood glucose levels. Further analyses of SFA substitution showed that replacement of 2 % energy from SFA with PUFA and MUFA was associated with 26 % (RR:0.74; 95%CI:0.62,0.88) and 30 % (RR:0.70; 95%CI:0.50, 0.98) decreased risk of GDM, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Greater intake of total fat and PUFA before pregnancy was associated with lower risk of GDM when replacing carbohydrates. Substitution SFA with PUFA and MUFA was also inversely associated with GDM risk. These findings support the important role of optimal dietary fatty acids composition in the prevention of GDM.

Abstract
The development of cancer is not just the growth and proliferation of a single transformed cell, but its tumor microenvironment (TME) also coevolves with it, which is primarily involved in tumor initiation, development, metastasis, and therapeutic responses. Recent years, TME has been emerged as a potential target for cancer diagnosis and treatment. However, the clinical efficacy of treatments targeting the TME, especially its specific components, remains insufficient. In parallel, the gut microbiome is an essential TME component that is crucial in cancer immunotherapy. Thus, assessing and constructing frameworks between the gut microbiota and the TME can significantly enhance the exploration of effective treatment strategies for various tumors. In this review the role of the gut microbiota in human cancers, including its function and relationship with various tumors was summarized. In addition, the interaction between the gut microbiota and the TME as well as its potential applications in cancer therapeutics was described. Furthermore, it was summarized that fecal microbiota transplantation, dietary adjustments, and synthetic biology to introduce gut microbiota-based medical technologies for cancer treatment. This review provides a comprehensive summary for uncovering the mechanism underlying the effects of the gut microbiota on the TME and lays a foundation for the development of personalized medicine in further studies.

Abstract
Objective: Vitamin D3 has the general properties of a lipid-soluble vitamin, but is also an active steroid hormone that can regulate the proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation of many tumor cells, and exerts anticancer activity against numerous malignancies. However, the mechanism underlying the effects of vitamin D3 on tumors is not fully understood. Here, we used network pharmacology and in vitro experimental approaches to explore the mechanism of vitamin D3 activity in the context of gastric cancer. Methods: The Targetnet, SuperPred, SwissTargetPrediction, and PharmMapper databases were screened for potential drug-related targets, while we used data from the PharmGKB, Drugbank, OMIM, DisGeNET, CTD, and GeneCards databases to identify potential targets associated with gastric cancer. Disease-drug crossover genes were obtained by constructing Venn diagrams. Gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses of crossover genes were conducted and STRING was used to generate protein interaction networks and identify core targets. CCK-8 experiments were performed and apoptosis detected to assess the effect of vitamin D3 on gastric cancer cells. Western blotting was applied to detect p53/AMPK/mTOR signaling, as well as autophagy-, cell cycle-, and apoptosis-related proteins. Results: A total of 485 targets of vitamin D3 activity were obtained and 1200 gastric cancer disease-related targets discovered. Further, 60 potential targets for vitamin D3 in gastric cancer treatment were identified. KEGG analysis indicated that potential targets were mainly involved in the cell cycle, HIF-1 signaling, and the AMPK pathway, among other pathways. These findings were validated using cellular experiments, which demonstrated that the viability of AGS and SGC-7901 cells was impeded by vitamin D3. Further, vitamin D3 promoted apoptosis and inhibited the cell cycle in those cell lines, as well as activating the p53/AMPK/mTOR pathway, which promotes autophagy and inhibits tumor development. Conclusion: Our network pharmacological analyses provide preliminarily data supporting a role for vitamin D3 in promoting autophagy and apoptosis in gastric cancer cells, and in activating the p53/AMPK/mTOR pathway, which inhibits gastric cancer cell proliferation. Our findings demonstrate the molecular mechanism underlying the effect of vitamin D3 in cure of gastric cancer.

Abstract
The unique eco-environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau breeds abundant microbial resources. In this research, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens GL18, isolated from the rhizosphere of Kobresia myosuroides from an alpine meadow, and the antagonistic activity, bacteriostatic hydrolase activity, and low temperature, salt, and drought resistance of it were determined and analysed. The seedlings of Avena sativa were root-irrigated using bacteria suspensions (cell concentration 1 × 107 cfu/mL) of GL18, and the growth-promoting effect of GL18 on it was determined under cold, salt and drought stress, respectively. The whole genome of GL18 was sequenced, and its functional genes were analysed. GL18 presented significant antagonistic activity to Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium acuminatum, Fusarium oxysporum and Aspergillus niger (inhibition zone diameter > 17 mm). Transparent zones formed on four hydrolase detection media, indicating that GL18 secreted cellulase, protease, pectinase and β-1,3-glucanase. GL18 tolerated conditions of 10 °C, 11% NaCl and 15% PEG-6000, presenting cold, salt and drought resistance. GL18 improved the cold, salt and drought tolerance of A. sativa and it showed significant growth effects under different stress. The total length of the GL18 genome was 3,915,550 bp, and the number of coding DNA sequence was 3726. Compared with the clusters of orthologous groups of proteins, gene ontology and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes databases, 3088, 2869 and 2357 functional genes were annotated, respectively. GL18 contained gene clusters related to antibacterial substances, functional genes related to the synthesis of plant growth-promoting substances, and encoding genes related to stress resistance. This study identified an excellent Bacillus strain and provided a theoretical basis for improving stress resistance and promoting the growth of herbages under abiotic stress.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Insulin plays a crucial and multifactorial role in cognitive activity, with insulin resistance appearing in neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. Insulin resistance contributes to the pathobiology of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in experimental models, which can be rescued by intranasal insulin administration. AIMS To test the effect of intranasal insulin on the incidence of POCD in elderly patients with metabolic syndrome. METHODS The study was designed as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. 116 elderly participants were randomly assigned to receive either 40 IU insulin (n = 58) or placebo (n = 58) for 7 days. The primary outcome was the incidence of POCD at 7 days and 3 months after surgery. Secondary outcomes included the degree of peripheral insulin resistance postoperatively, changes in peripheral inflammation levels and the safety of interventions. RESULTS The results showed that POCD occurred in the insulin group on the 7th postoperative day in 11 (20.8%) patients, which was fewer than the 23 (45.1%) patients in the placebo group (P = 0.008). The insulin group indicated better cognitive functional performance on language and memory test than the placebo group (P < 0.05). Mean peripheral plasma concentration of TNF-α (P < 0.05) and CRP (P < 0.001) in the insulin group was significantly declined compared with the placebo group on D3 and D7. CONCLUSIONS Intranasal insulin administration reduced the incidence of POCD and alleviated peripheral inflammatory levels in elderly patients with metabolic syndrome. Abstract
Dioctyl phthalate, commonly known as bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), is a widely used plasticizer in various industries and has been shown to directly or indirectly impact human health. However, there is a lack of comprehensive studies evaluating the potential health risks associated with DEHP accumulation in different organs across various age groups. This study aimed to assess the effects of low (50 mg/kg·bw) and high (500 mg/kg·bw) doses of DEHP on five different organs in mice at young (4-week-old) and aged (76-week-old) life stages. Our findings revealed that both low and high doses of DEHP exposure led to significant dose-dependent inflammation in the liver, spleen, and kidney. Furthermore, regardless of age, DEHP exposure resulted in elevated activity of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in the liver, as well as increased levels of creatinine (Cr) and urea in the kidney. Moreover, analysis of the fecal microbiota using 16S rRNA sequencing demonstrated that DEHP exposure disrupted the homeostasis of the gut microbiota, characterized by an increased abundance of pathogenic bacteria such as Desulfovibrio and Muribaculum, and a decreased abundance of beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus. This study provides compelling evidence that DEHP at different concentrations can induce damage to multiple organs and disrupt gut microbiota composition. These findings lay the groundwork for further investigations into DEHP toxicity in various human organs, contributing to a better understanding of the potential health risks associated with DEHP exposure.

Abstract
Conserved long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have not thoroughly been studied in many cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). We have identified a novel lncRNA PTCHD4-AS which was highly conserved between humans and mice and naturally downregulated in GC cell lines and tissues. Notably, PTCHD4-AS was found to be transcriptionally induced by DNA damage agents and its upregulation led to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, in parallel, it facilitated the cell apoptosis induced by cisplatin (CDDP) in GC. Mechanistically, PTCHD4-AS directly bound to the DNA mismatch repair protein MSH2-MSH6 dimer, and facilitated the binding of dimer to ATM, thereby promoting the expression of phosphorylated ATM, p53 and p21. Here we conclude that the upregulation of PTCHD4-AS inhibits proliferation and increases CDDP sensitivity of GC cells via binding with MSH2-MSH6 dimer, activating the ATM-p53-p21 pathway.

Abstract
Lattice dynamics plays a significant role in manipulating the unique physical properties of materials. In this work, femtosecond transient optical spectroscopy is used to investigate the generation mechanism and relaxation dynamics of coherent phonons in Fe1.14Te-a parent compound of chalcogenide superconductors. The reflectivity time series consist of the exponential decay component due to hot carriers and damped oscillations caused by the A1g phonon vibration. The vibrational frequency and dephasing time of the A1g phonons are obtained as a function of temperature. With increasing temperature, the phonon frequency decreases and can be well described with the anharmonicity model. Dephasing time is independent of temperature, indicating that the phonon dephasing is dominated by phonon-defect scattering. The impulsive stimulated Raman scattering mechanism is responsible for the coherent phonon generation. Owing to the resonance Raman effect, the maximum photosusceptibility of the A1g phonons occurs at 1.590 eV, corresponding to an electronic transition in Fe1.14Te.

Abstract
Determining the grade of glioma is a critical step in choosing patients' treatment plans in clinical practices. The pathological diagnosis of patient's glioma samples requires extensive staining and imaging procedures, which are expensive and time-consuming. Current advanced uniform-width-constriction-channel-based microfluidics have proven to be effective in distinguishing cancer cells from normal tissues, such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, etc. However, the uniform-width-constriction channels can result in low yields on glioma cells with irregular morphologies and high heterogeneity. In this research, we presented an innovative cyclic conical constricted (CCC) microfluidic device to better differentiate glioma cells from normal glial cells. Compared with the widely used uniform-width-constriction microchannels, the new CCC configuration forces single cells to deform gradually and obtains the biophysical attributes from each deformation. The human-derived glioma cell lines U-87 and U-251, as well as the human-derived normal glial astrocyte cell line HA-1800 were selected as the proof of concept. The results showed that CCC channels can effectively obtain the biomechanical characteristics of different 12-25 μm glial cell lines. The patient glioma samples with WHO grades II, III, and IV were tested by CCC channels and compared between Elastic Net (ENet) and Lasso analysis. The results demonstrated that CCC channels and the ENet can successfully select critical biomechanical parameters to differentiate the grades of single-glioma cells. This CCC device can be potentially further applied to the extensive family of brain tumors at the single-cell level.

Abstract
Objective: Aloe-emodin (AE) is an anthraquinone compound extracted from the rhizome of the natural plant rhubarb. Initially, it was shown that AE exerts an anti-inflammatory effect. Further studies revealed its antitumor activity against various types of cancer. However, the mechanisms underlying these properties remain unclear. Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, this study investigated the molecular mechanism of AE in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and evaluated its therapeutic effect through in vitro experiments. Methods: CTD, Pharmmapper, SuperPred and TargetNet were the databases to obtain potential drug-related targets. DisGenet, GeneCards, OMIM and TTD were used to identify potential disease-related targets. Intersection genes for drugs and diseases were obtained through the Venn diagram. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses of intersecting genes were conducted by the website of Bioinformatics. Intersection genes were introduced into STRING to construct a protein-protein interaction network, while the Cytoscape3.9.1 software was used to visualize and analyze the core targets. AutoDock4.2.6 was utilized to achieve molecular docking between drug and core targets. In vitro experiments investigated the therapeutic effects and related mechanisms of AE. Results: 63 overlapped genes were obtained and GO analysis generated 3,646 entries by these 63 intersecting genes. KEGG analysis mainly involved apoptosis, proteoglycans in cancer, TNF signaling pathway, TP53 signaling pathway, PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, etc. AKT1, EGFR, ESR1, TP53, and SRC have been identified as core targets because the binding energies of them between aloe-emodin were less than -5 kcal/Mol.The mRNA and protein expression, prognosis, mutation status, and immune infiltration related to core targets were further revealed. The involvement of AKT1 and EGFR, as well as the key target of the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, indicated the importance of this signaling pathway in the treatment of HCC using AE. The results of the Cell Counting Kit-8 assay and flow analysis demonstrated the therapeutic effect of AE. The downregulation of EGFR, PI3KR1, AKT1, and BCL2 in mRNA expression and PI3KR1, AKT,p-AKT in protein expression confirmed our hypothesis. Conclusion: Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, our study initially showed that AE exerted a therapeutic effect on HCC by modulating multiple signaling pathways. Various analyses confirmed the antiproliferative activity and pro-apoptotic effect of AE on HCC through the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway. This study revealed the therapeutic mechanism of AE in the treatment of HCC through a novel approach, providing a theoretical basis for the clinical application of AE.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to systematically evaluate the current economic burden of coronary heart disease (CHD) in mainland China and provide a reference for the formulation of policies to reduce the economic burden of CHD. STUDY DESIGN A systematic literature review was conducted of empirical studies on the economic burden of CHD over the past 20 years. METHODS PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database and the WANFANG database were comprehensively searched for relevant articles published between 1 January 2000 and 22 December 2021. Content analysis was used to extract the data, and Stata 17.0 software was used for analysis. The median values were used to describe trends. RESULTS A total of 35 studies were included in this review. The annual median per-capita hospitalisation expense and the average expense per hospitalisation were $3544.40 ($891.64-$18,371.46) and $5407.34 ($1139.93-$8277.55), respectively. The median ratio on medical consumables expenses, drug expenses, medical examination expenses and treatment expenses were 41.59% (12.40%-63.73%), 26.90% (7.30%-60.00%), 9.45% (1.65%-33.40%) and 10.10% (2.36%-66.00%), respectively. The median per-capita hospitalisation expense in the eastern, central and western regions were $9374.45 ($2056.13-$18,371.46), $4751.5 ($2951.95-$8768.93) and $3251.25 ($891.64-$13,986.38), respectively. The median average expense per hospitalisation in the eastern and central regions were $6177.15 ($1679.15-$8277.55) and $1285.49 ($1239.93-$2197.36), respectively. The median average length of stay in the eastern, central and western regions were 9.3 days, 15.2 days and 16.1 days, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The economic burden of CHD is more severe in mainland China than in developed countries, especially in terms of the direct economic burden. In terms of the types of direct medical expenses, a proportion of medical examination expenses, treatment expenses and drug expenses were lowest in the eastern region, but medical consumables expenses were the highest in this region. This study provides guidance for the formulation of policies to reduce the economic burden of CHD in mainland China.

Abstract
Background Metabolic diseases during pregnancy result in negative consequences for mothers. Pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and late-pregnancy glycated-hemoglobin (HbA1c) are most important factors independently affecting the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However how both affect the combined risk of other metabolic diseases in women with GDM is unclear. The study aims to investigate the influence of pre-pregnancy BMI and pregnancy glycemic levels on other gestational metabolic diseases in women with GDM. Methods Pregnancies with GDM from January 2015 to December 2018 in the Xi'an longitudinal mother-child cohort study (XAMC) were retrospectively enrolled. Those without other metabolic diseases by the time of oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) detection were finally recruited and divided into four groups by pre-pregnancy BMI (Underweight <18.5kg/m2; Normal weight 18.5-23.9 kg/m2; Overweight 24.0-27.9 kg/m2; Obesity ≥28.0 kg/m2, respectively) or two groups by HbA1c in late pregnancy (normal HbA1c<5.7%; high HbA1c≥5.7%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors. Interaction between pre-pregnancy BMI (reference group 18.5-23.9 kg/m2) and HbA1c (reference group <5.7%) was determined using strata-specific analysis. Results A total of 8928 subjects with GDM were included, 16.2% of which had a composite of metabolic diseases. The pre-pregnancy overweight and obesity, compared with normal BMI, were linked to the elevated risk of the composite of metabolic diseases, particularly pre-eclampsia (both P <0.001) and gestational hypertension (both P <0.001). Meanwhile, patients with high HbA1c had an obvious higher risk of pre-eclampsia (P< 0.001) and gestational hypertension (P= 0.005) compared to those with normal HbA1c. In addition, there were significant interactions between pre-pregnancy BMI and HbA1c (P< 0.001). The OR of pre-pregnancy BMI≥ 28 kg/m2 and HbA1c≥ 5.7% was 4.46 (95% CI: 2.85, 6.99; P< 0.001). The risk of other metabolic diseases, except for pre-eclampsia (P= 0.003), was comparable between the two groups of patients with different HbA1c levels at normal pre-pregnancy BMI group. However, that was remarkably elevated in obese patients (P= 0.004), particularly the risk of gestational hypertension (P= 0.004). Conclusion Pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity and late-pregnancy high HbA1c increased the risk of other gestational metabolic diseases of women with GDM. Monitoring and controlling late-pregnancy HbA1c was effective in reducing metabolic diseases, particularly in those who were overweight/obese before conception.

Abstract
Scientists have made great efforts to understand the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2) to provide crucial information to public health experts on strategies to control this viral pathogen. The pandemic of the coronavirus disease that began in 2019, COVID-19, lasted nearly three years, and nearly all countries have set different epidemic prevention policies for this virus. The continuous evolution of SARS-CoV-2 alters its pathogenicity and infectivity in human hosts, thus the policy and treatments have been continually adjusted. Based on our previous study on the dynamics of binding ability prediction between the COVID-19 spike protein and human ACE2, the present study mined over 10 million sequences and epidemiological data of SARS-CoV-2 during 2020-2022 to understand the evolutionary path of SARS-CoV-2. We analyzed and predicted the mutation rates of the whole genome and main proteins of SARS-CoV-2 from different populations to understand the adaptive relationship between humans and COVID-19. Our study identified a correlation of the mutation rates from each protein of SARS-CoV-2 and various human populations. Overall, this analysis provides a scientific basis for developing data-driven strategies to confront human pathogens.

Abstract
What is already known about this topic? Elevated gestational weight gain (GWG) during pregnancy among women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is correlated with an increased instance of large for gestational age (LGA) and macrosomia. However, it remains uncertain whether managing weekly GWG following a GDM diagnosis positively impacts fetal birth weight. What is added by this report? Our study found that GWG following GDM diagnosis correlates positively with the risk of LGA and macrosomia among all body mass index (BMI) subgroups, especially for overweight and obese women. What are the implications for public health practice? The results of this research highlight the importance of enforcing a more stringent regulation on GWG on a weekly basis for overweight and obese women diagnosed with GDM, particularly when considering neonatal growth.

Abstract
Purpose To determine the role of Lactobacillus strains and their combinations in inhibiting the colonization of H. pylori and gastric mucosa inflammation. Methods Human gastric adenocarcinoma AGS cells were incubated with H. pylori and six probiotic strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM, L. acidophilus La-14, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Lp-115, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Lpc-37, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus Lr-32, and L. rhamnosus GG) and the adhesion ability of H. pylori in different combinations was evaluated by fluorescence microscopy and urease activity assay. Male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five groups (uninfected, H. pylori, H. pylori+NCFM, H. pylori+Lp-115, and H. pylori+NCFM+Lp-115) and treated with two lactobacilli strains (NCFM and Lp-115) for six weeks. H. pylori colonization and tissue inflammation statuses were determined by rapid urease test, Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining, immunohistochemistry, and qRT-PCR and ELISA. Results L. acidophilus NCFM, L. acidophilus La-14, L. plantarum Lp-115, L. paracasei Lpc-37, L. rhamnosus Lr-32, and L. rhamnosus GG reduced H. pylori adhesion and inflammation caused by H. pylori infection in AGS cells and mice. Among all probiotics L. acidophilus NCFM and L. plantarum, Lp-115 showed significant effects on the H. pylori eradication and reduction of inflammation in-vitro and in-vivo. Compared with the H. pylori infection group, the mRNA and protein expression levels of IL-8 and TNF-α in the six Lactobacillus intervention groups were significantly reduced. The changes in the urease activity (ureA and ureB) for 1-7h in each group showed that L. acidophilus NCFM, L. acidophilus La-14, L. plantarum Lp-115, and L. rhamnosus GG effectively reduced the colonization of H. pylori. We observed a higher ratio of lymphocyte and plasma cell infiltration into the lamina propria of the gastric mucosa and neutrophil infiltration in H. pylori+NCFM+Lp-115 mice. The infiltration of inflammatory cells in lamina propria of the gastric mucosa was reduced in the H. pylori+NCFM+Lp-115 group. Additionally, the expression of IFN-γ was decreased significantly in the NCFM and Lp-115 treated C57BL/6 mice. Conclusions L. acidophilus NCFM and L. plantarum Lp-115 can reduce the adhesion of H. pylori and inhibit the gastric inflammatory response caused by H. pylori infection.

Abstract
Background/aims Some studies showed that probiotics could improve the composition and structure of gut microbiota. Changes in the gut microbiota may alter bile acid (BAs) composition and kinetics, improving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, it still needs to be clarified how probiotics improve both the metabolism of BAs and NAFLD. This study aimed to reveal the regulatory mechanisms of cholesterol-lowering (CL) probiotics on NAFLD from aspects involved in BA metabolism in FXR gene knockout (FXR-/-) mice. Methods FXR-/- male mice were randomly divided into three groups based on different interventions for 16 weeks, including normal diet (ND), high-fat diet (HFD), and probiotic intervention in the HFD (HFD+P) group. 16s rDNA sequencing and ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) were utilized to analyze the changes in gut microbiota and fecal bile acids in mice. Results We found that the intervention of the CL probiotics improved liver lipid deposition and function in HFD-induced NAFLD mice by decreasing the levels of total cholesterol (TC; p = 0.002) and triglyceride (TG; p = 0.001) in serum, as well as suppressing liver inflammation, such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β; p = 0.002) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α; p < 0.0001). 16S rDNA sequencing and metabolomic analyses showed that probiotics effectively reduced the abundance of harmful gut microbiota, such as Firmicutes (p = 0.005), while concomitantly increasing the abundance of beneficial gut microbiota in NAFLD mice, such as Actinobacteriota (p = 0.378), to improve NAFLD. Compared with the ND group, consuming an HFD elevated the levels of total BAs (p = 0.0002), primary BAs (p = 0.017), and secondary BAs (p = 0.0001) in mice feces, while the intervention with probiotics significantly reduced the increase in the levels of fecal total bile acids (p = 0.013) and secondary bile acids (p = 0.017) induced by HFD. Conclusion The CL probiotics were found to improve liver function, restore microbiota balance, correct an abnormal change in the composition and content of fecal bile acids, and repair the damaged intestinal mucosal barrier in mice with NAFLD, ultimately ameliorating the condition. These results suggested that CL probiotics may be a promising and health-friendly treatment option for NAFLD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are at greater risk of abnormal birth weight. Since the level of biochemical indicators could often affect the intrauterine growth and development of the fetus, it is of great practical significance to understand the changes of biochemical levels across pregnancy in women with GDM and to find out the indicators that play an important role in predicting birth weight. METHODS The data source of this study was from the Xi'an Longitudinal Mother-Child Cohort study (XAMC), in which women with GDM with normal and high pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and their newborns between January 1st and March 31st in 2018 were included. The data of ferritin, serum lipid profile and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) of mothers in the three trimesters of pregnancy, as well as birth weight of newborns were all collected from medical records. Multiple linear regression and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to explore the association of the biochemical indexes and birth weight. A P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS A total of 782 mother-infant pairs were finally included and divided into normal weight group (NG) (n = 530, 67.8%) and overweight/obesity group (OG) (n = 252, 32.2%) according to maternal pre-pregnancy BMI. The level of ferritin in both NG and OG decreased during pregnancy (P for trend < 0.001 for all), whereas the levels of total cholesterol (TC), high density cholesterol (HDL-C), low density cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides (TG) all showed an upward trend (P for trend < 0.05 for all). The levels of FPG in the two groups remained in a relatively stable during the whole pregnancy even though it was higher in OG during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, whilst HbAlc levels in NG women increased (P for trend = 0.043) during pregnancy. Meanwhile, the risk of macrosomia and large-for-gestational-age (LGA) increased with the increase of FPG level (P for trend < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analyses results showed that only FPG level in the 3rd trimester was correlated with birth weight, with birth weight increased by 44.9 g for each SD increase in FPG level. CONCLUSION Maternal FPG in the 3rd trimester is an independent predictor of newborn birth weight, and a higher level of that is associated with an increased risk of macrosomia and LGA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Caesarean-section (C-section) may influence children's long-term health by affecting bacterial colonization. However, few studies have focused on the association between C-section delivery (CSD) and dental caries, and previous conclusions have been conflicting. This study aimed to explore whether CSD would increase the risk of early childhood caries (ECC) in preschool children in China. METHODS This study was a retrospective cohort study. Three-year-old children with full primary dentition were included through the medical records system. Children in the nonexposure group were vaginally delivered (VD), while children in the exposure group were delivered through C-section. The outcome was the occurrence of ECC. After agreeing to participate in this study, guardians of included children completed a structured questionnaire on maternal sociodemographic factors, children's oral hygiene and feeding habits. The chi-square test was used to determine differences in the prevalence and severity of ECC between the CSD and VD groups and to analyse the prevalence of ECC according to sample characteristics. Subsequently, potential risk factors for ECC were preliminarily identified through univariate analysis, and the adjusted odds ratios (ORs) were further calculated through multiple logistic regression analysis after controlling for confounding factors. RESULTS The VD group included 2115 participants while CSD group included 2996 participants. The prevalence of ECC was higher in CSD children than in VD children (27.6% vs. 20.9%, P < 0.05), and the severity of ECC in CSD children was higher (mean number of decayed, missing, and filled teeth, dmft: 2.1 vs. 1.7, P < 0.05). CSD was a risk factor for ECC in 3-year-old children (OR = 1.43, 95% CI = 1.10-2.83). In addition, irregular tooth brushing and always prechewing children's food were risk factors for ECC (P < 0.05). Low maternal educational attainment (high school or below) or socioeconomic status (SES-5) may also increase the prevalence of ECC in preschool children and CSD children (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS CSD would increase the risk of ECC in 3-year-old Chinese children. Paediatric dentists should devote more attention to the development of caries in CSD children. Obstetricians should also prevent excessive and unnecessary CSD.

Abstract
AIM To investigate the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features and explore the value of MRI in the diagnosis of central nervous system leukaemia (CNSL). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective study was performed in 68 patients with leukaemia who underwent cranial MRI between January 2020 and June 2022 at Institute of Hematology and Blood Diseases Hospital. RESULTS A total of 33 patients fulfilled the requirements for inclusion. The findings showed that 87.9% patients exhibited neurological symptoms, and 23 patients showed abnormal MRI findings. No differences were observed between the MRI+ and MRI- groups in terms of age, sex, neurological symptoms, glucose in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), chloride in the CSF, abnormal cells detected using conventional cytology (CC), bone marrow status at the diagnosis of CNSL, signal intensity ratio, and mortality, except for protein concentration and the number of leukaemic cells detected using flow cytometry (FCM) in the CSF. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis in patients with leukaemia revealed no statistical differences in the median survival times between the MRI+ group and MRI- group. Cox regression analysis and multivariate analysis showed no significant difference in survival rate between the MRI+ and MRI- groups. Kappa consistency test shows weak diagnostic consistency between MRI and CC, and weak diagnostic inconsistency between MRI and FCM. CONCLUSION MRI could serve as an important complementary tool to CC and FCM in the diagnosis of CNSL, especially in patients without leptomeningeal involvement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common chronic liver diseases globally. Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are the major effector cells of liver fibrosis. HSCs contain abundant lipid droplets (LDs) in their cytoplasm during quiescence. Perilipin 5 (PLIN 5) is a LD surface-associated protein that plays a crucial role in lipid homeostasis. However, little is known about the role of PLIN 5 in HSC activation. METHODS PLIN 5 was overexpressed in HSCs of Sprague-Dawley rats by lentivirus transfection. At the same time, PLIN 5 gene knockout mice were constructed and fed with a high-fat diet (HFD) for 20 weeks to study the role of PLIN 5 in NAFLD. The corresponding reagent kits were used to measure TG, GSH, Caspase 3 activity, ATP level, and mitochondrial DNA copy number. Metabolomic analysis of mice liver tissue metabolism was performed based on UPLC-MS/MS. AMPK, mitochondrial function, cell proliferation, and apoptosis-related genes and proteins were detected by western blotting and qPCR. RESULTS Overexpression of PLIN 5 in activated HSCs led to a decrease in ATP levels in mitochondria, inhibition of cell proliferation, and a significant increase in cell apoptosis through AMPK activation. In addition, compared with the HFD-fed C57BL/6J mice, PLIN 5 knockout mice fed with HFD showed reduced liver fat deposition, decreased LD abundance and size, and reduced liver fibrosis. CONCLUSION These findings highlight the unique regulatory role of PLIN 5 in HSCs and the role of PLIN 5 in the fibrosis process of NAFLD.

Abstract
Objective: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common cancer that cannot be detected at an early stage and is a major challenge in oncology research. Studies have shown that vitamin D3 has some anti-cancer and preventive effects on colorectal cancer, but the exact anti-cancer mechanism is not clear. We applied the relevant research methods of network pharmacology to speculate and validate the possible potential pharmacological mechanisms of vitamin D3 for the prevention of colorectal cancer, and to provide more theoretical support for the clinical anticancer effects of vitamin D3. Methods: The relevant targets for vitamin D3 and CRC were obtained from the database of drug and disease targets, respectively. The target of vitamin D3 and the target of colorectal cancer were taken to intersect to obtain common targets. Then, the PPI network was constructed. In addition, the pathways of drug-disease interactions were predicted by GO and KEGG enrichment analysis. Finally, the obtained results were verified to ensure the reliability of the experiments. Results: 51 targets of vitamin D3 for the prevention of colorectal cancer were obtained. The 10 core targets were obtained from the PPI network. The 10 core targets include: ALB, SRC, MMP9, PPARG, HSP90AA1, IGF1, EGFR, MAPK1, MAP2K1 and IGF1R. The core targets were further validated by molecular docking and animal experiments. The results suggest that vitamin D3 plays a key role in the prevention of CRC through core targets, PI3K-Akt pathway, HIF-1 pathway, and FoxO pathway. Conclusion: This study will provide more theoretical support for vitamin D3 to reduce the incidence of CRC and is important to explore more pharmacological effects of vitamin D3.

Abstract
I-III-VI ternary quantum dots (QDs) have emerged as favorable alternatives to the toxic II-VI QDs for optoelectronic and biological applications. However, their use as optical gain media for microlasers is still limited by a low fluorescence efficiency. Here, we demonstrate amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and lasing from colloidal QDs of Zn-processed AgIn5S8 (AIS) for the first time. The passivation treatment on the AIS QDs yields a 3.4-fold enhancement of fluorescence quantum efficiency and a 30% increase in the two-photon absorption cross section. ASE is achieved from the AIS/ZnS core/shell QD films under both one- and two-photon pumping with a threshold fluence of ∼84.5 μJ/cm2 and 3.1 mJ/cm2, respectively. These thresholds are comparable to the best optical gain performance of Cd based-QDs reported in the literature. Moreover, we demonstrate a facile whispering-gallery-mode microlaser of the core/shell QDs with a lasing threshold of ∼233 μJ/cm2. The passivated AIS QDs can be promising optical gain media for photonic applications.

Abstract
Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) possess the potential for therapeutic targeting to treat many disorders, including cancers. Several RNA-based therapeutics (ASOs and small interfering RNAs) have gained FDA approval over the past decade. And with their potent effects, lncRNA-based therapeutics are of emerging significance. One important lncRNA target is LINC-PINT, with its universalized functions and relationship with the famous tumor suppressor gene TP53. Establishing clinical relevance, much like p53, the tumor suppressor activity of LINC-PINT is implicated in cancer progression. Moreover, several molecular targets of LINC-PINT are directly or indirectly used in routine clinical practice. We further associate LINC-PINT with immune responses in colon adenocarcinoma, proposing the potential utility of LINC-PINT as a novel biomarker of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Collectively, current evidence suggests LINC-PINT can be considered for use as a diagnostic/prognostic marker for cancer and several other diseases.

Abstract
Aerobic glycolysis, a metabolic pathway essential for effector T cell survival and proliferation, regulates differentiation of autoimmune T helper (Th) 17 cells, but the mechanism underlying this regulation is largely unknown. Here, we identify a glycolytic intermediate metabolite, phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP), as a negative regulator of Th17 differentiation. PEP supplementation or inhibition of downstream glycolytic enzymes in differentiating Th17 cells increases intracellular PEP levels and inhibits interleukin (IL)-17A expression. PEP supplementation inhibits expression of signature molecules for Th17 and Th2 cells but does not significantly affect glycolysis, cell proliferation, or survival of T helper cells. Mechanistically, PEP binds to JunB and inhibits DNA binding of the JunB/basic leucine zipper transcription factor ATF-like (BATF)/interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) complex, thereby modulating the Th17 transcriptional program. Furthermore, daily administration of PEP to mice inhibits generation of Th17 cells and ameliorates Th17-dependent autoimmune encephalomyelitis. These data demonstrate that PEP links aerobic glycolysis to the Th17 transcriptional program, suggesting the therapeutic potential of PEP for autoimmune diseases.

Abstract
Previous studies on particulate matter (PM) exposure and neurodegenerative disorders showed inconsistent results, and few studies systematically examined the long-term effect of PM on neurodegenerative diseases, including all-cause dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, vascular dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and cognitive function decline. We systematically searched for published studies in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science up to October 31, 2022. To facilitate a comparison of effect sizes from different studies, we standardized units across studies to a 10 μg/m3 increase for PM. Heterogeneity was assessed by Cochran's Q test and I2 statistic. Publication bias was evaluated using funnel plots and Egger's tests. Subgroup analysis, meta-regression, and sensitivity analysis were performed. The protocol for this review was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42021277112). Of the 3403 originally identified studies, a meta-analysis was finally performed in 49 studies. The results showed that there was a significant positive association between long-term PM2.5 exposure and all-cause dementia, Alzheimer's disease as well as Parkinson's disease, with pooled OR of 1.30 (95%CI: 1.14, 1.47, I2 = 99.3%), 1.65 (95%CI: 1.37, 1.94, I2 = 98.2%), and 1.17 (95%CI: 1.00, 1.33, I2 = 91.8%). A positive association between PM10 and vascular dementia was observed (OR = 1.12, 95%CI: 1.04, 1.21, I2 = 0.0%). Association between PM exposure and decreased cognitive function score was found. Our results highlight the important role of PM pollution, particularly PM2.5, in the risk of age-related neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive function decline.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal blood glucose levels during pregnancy and neonatal birth outcomes in Northwest China. METHODS This population-based cohort study included 10,010 first-trimester pregnant women who joined the birth cohort of the Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital from July 2018 to July 2020. Basic demographic characteristics, lifestyle and behavior patterns were collected. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) results during the second trimester and pregnancy outcomes after childbirth were also collected. A generalized linear model was constructed to analyze the effects of blood glucose levels on neonatal birth outcomes. RESULTS We found that every 1 mmol/L increase in fasting plasma glucose (FPG) was associated with an increase in birth weight (β = 100.22 g, 95% confidence interval (95%CI): 81.91, 118.52), birth weight Z score (β = 0.23, 95%CI: 0.19, 0.27) and birth weight Z centile (β = 6.72%, 95%CI: 5.51, 7.94). Moreover, the risk of macrosomia, premature birth and being born large for gestational age (LGA) increased by 2.01 (95%CI: 1.67, 2.43), 1.35 (95%CI: 1.09, 1.66) and 1.80 (95%CI: 1.57, 2.07) times, respectively. Additionally, for every 1 mmol/L increase in FPG associated with a decrease in gestational age (β = -0.12 weeks, 95%CI: -0.19, -0.06), the risk of SGA decreased by 0.70 (OR = 0.70, 95%CI: 0.55, 0.89) times. Every 1 mmol/L increase in 1/2-h PG had similar outcomes as FPG, besides premature birth and SGA. CONCLUSIONS Higher blood glucose in pregnant women may increase neonatal birth weight, decrease gestational age and lead to a higher risk of macrosomia, premature birth and LGA. Mothers should actively prevent and control hyperglycemia to promote maternal and infant health.

Abstract
Objective: Curcumin is a plant polyphenol extracted from the Chinese herb turmeric. It was found that curcumin has good anti-cancer properties in a variety of cancers, but the exact mechanism is not clear. Based on the network pharmacology and molecular docking to deeply investigate the molecular mechanism of curcumin for the treatment of colon cancer, it provides a new research direction for the treatment of colon cancer. Methods: Curcumin-related targets were collected using PharmMapper, SwissTargetPrediction, Targetnet and SuperPred. Colon cancer related targets were obtained using OMIM, DisGeNET, GeneCards and GEO databases. Drug-disease intersection targets were obtained via Venny 2.1.0. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis of drug-disease common targets were performed using DAVID. Construct PPI network graphs of intersecting targets using STRING database as well as Cytoscape 3.9.0 and filter core targets. Molecular docking via AutoDockTools 1.5.7. The core targets were further analyzed by GEPIA, HPA, cBioPortal and TIMER databases. Results: A total of 73 potential targets of curcumin for the treatment of colon cancer were obtained. GO function enrichment analysis yielded 256 entries, including BP(Biological Progress):166, CC(celluar component):36 and MF(Molecular Function):54. The KEGG pathway enrichment analysis yielded 34 signaling pathways, mainly involved in Metabolic pathways, Nucleotide metabolism, Nitrogen metabolism, Drug metabolism - other enzymes, Pathways in cancer,PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, etc. CDK2, HSP90AA1, AURKB, CCNA2, TYMS, CHEK1, AURKA, DNMT1, TOP2A, and TK1 were identified as core targets by Cytoscape 3.9.0. Molecular docking results showed that the binding energies of curcumin to the core targets were all less than 0 kJ-mol-1, suggesting that curcumin binds spontaneously to the core targets. These results were further validated in terms of mRNA expression levels, protein expression levels and immune infiltration. Conclusion: Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking initially revealed that curcumin exerts its therapeutic effects on colon cancer with multi-target, multi-pathway. Curcumin may exert anticancer effects by binding to core targets. Curcumin may interfere with colon cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis by regulating signal transduction pathways such as PI3K-Akt signaling pathway,IL-17 signaling pathway, Cell cycle. This will deepen and enrich our understanding of the potential mechanism of curcumin against colon cancer and provide a theoretical basis for subsequent studies.

Abstract
What is already known about this topic? Joint effects of gestational weight gain (GWG) and hyperglycemia on adverse pregnancy outcomes suggest that lower optimal GWG is optimal for women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However, there is still a lack of guidelines. What is added by this report? Optimal weekly GWG range after diagnosis of GDM for underweight, normal-weight, overweight, and obese women was 0.37-0.56 kg/week, 0.26-0.48 kg/week, 0.19-0.32 kg/week, and 0.12-0.23 kg/week, respectively. What are the implications for public health practice? The findings may be used to inform prenatal counseling regarding optimal gestational weight gain for women with gestational diabetes mellitus, and suggest the need for weight gain management.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Evidence showed possible benefits of a less gestational weight gain (GWG) than the US Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommendation in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) pregnancy. Here, we aimed to explore an appropriate GWG range in GDM women according to adverse pregnancy outcomes. METHODS We enrolled all the singleton GDM pregnant women (n = 14,213) from January 2015 to December 2018 in Xi'an, Northwest China. According to the pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI), they were classified into the Underweight (< 18.5 kg/m2), Normal weight (18.5-24.9 kg/m2), Overweight (25.0-29.9 kg/m2) and Obesity (≥ 30.0 kg/m2) group, respectively. Logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). The appropriate ranges of GWG were determined based on a significant protective association (OR < 1). RESULTS Totally, 12,712 participants were finally recruited. There were 1180 (9.3%), 9134 (71.9%), 2097 (16.5%), and 301 (2.4%) patients in the Underweight, Normal weight, Overweight, and Obesity groups, respectively. Adverse outcomes increased with the elevation of pre-pregnancy BMI. Among them, the risk of cesarean section was the highest, followed by large for gestational age (LGA), small for gestational age (SGA), preeclampsia, and gestational hypertension. Through the analysis of the risk of adverse outcomes in continuous GWG categories in each group, an ideal GWG range obtained in this study was as follows: 10-15.9 kg, 8-11.9 kg, 6-7.9 kg, and -5-3.9 kg for the Underweight, Normal weight, Overweight and Obesity group, respectively. Furthermore, the ranges in this study were more protective for adverse outcomes than those from IOM. CONCLUSIONS Based on the adverse pregnancy outcomes of over 12 thousand participants, our findings showed a more stringent GWG range for GDM women than the IOM criteria recommendation.

Abstract
Background Carbamoyl phosphate synthetase 1 deficiency (CPS1D) is a rare autosomal recessive urea cycle disorder characterized by hyperammonaemia. The biochemical measurement of the intermediate metabolites is helpful for CPS1D diagnosis; it however cannot distinguish CPS1D from N-acetylglutamate synthetase deficiency. Therefore, next-generation sequencing (NGS) is often essential for the accurate diagnosis of CPS1D. Methods NGS was performed to identify candidate gene variants of CPS1D in a Asian neonatal patient presented with poor feeding, reduced activity, tachypnea, lethargy, and convulsions. The potential pathogenicity of the identified variants was predicted by various types of bioinformatical analyses, including evolution conservation, domain and 3D structure simulations. Results Compound heterozygosity of CPS1D were identified. One was in exon 24 with a novel heterozygous missense variant c.2947C > T (p.P983S), and another was previously reported in exon 20 with c.2548C > T (p.R850C). Both variants were predicted to be deleterious. Conservation analysis and structural modeling showed that the two substituted amino acids were highly evolutionarily conserved, resulting in potential decreases of the binding pocket stability and the partial loss of enzyme activity. Conclusion In this study, two pathogenic missense variants were identified with NGS, expanding the variants pectrum of the CPS1 gene. The variants and related structural knowledge of CPS enzyme demonstrate the applicability for the accurate diagnosis of CPS1D.

Abstract
This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted to explore the effects of flavonoid intake on adiponectin and leptin levels. The PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases were searched on March 1, 2021. Random-effects, subgroup, sensitivity, and meta-regression analyses were conducted on 40 publications. Flavonoid intake significantly increased circulating adiponectin (0.54 μg/ml, 95% CI [0.20, 0.88], p = .002; I2 = 86.4%) and significantly reduced leptin levels (weighted mean difference: -0.79 ng/ml, 95% CI [-1.33, -0.25], p = .004; I2 = 87.7%). Subgroup analysis demonstrated that flavonoid intervention produced a significant elevation in adiponectin levels only in studies that lasted more than 12 weeks, conducted in Asian regions, were parallel-designed, involved obese or overweight participants and participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) or cardiovascular diseases, used tea catechins, and used a dietary supplement intervention. A significantly negative effect on leptin levels was observed in studies conducted in Asian countries, with healthy participants and participants with T2DM, used whole food interventions, and involved participants with lower baseline leptin levels. In conclusion, flavonoid intake significantly increased circulating adiponectin and decreased leptin levels; however, study heterogeneity was very high. Future well-designed trials are required to address heterogeneous study designs and clarify the efficacy of plants in regulating adiponectin and leptin levels.

Abstract
Representation learning is widely used to project high-dimensional data to low-dimensional subspace for feature extraction in image recognition tasks. However, many related methods barely explore the fuzziness and uncertainty between data classes. Besides, the classical unsupervised sparse constraint weakens the evaluation of feature importance and neglects the preservation of discriminant information during sparse representation. To solve these issues, a novel fuzzy discriminative block representation learning (FDBRL) algorithm is proposed for image feature extraction. FDBRL aims to enhance the discriminability of subspace by designing effective constraints for projection learning. Specifically, based on the label information and the fuzzy relation between data, we construct a fuzzy block weight matrix and embed it into the l2,1 norm regularization term to realize supervised sparse constraint for the representation learning. Next, the low-rank constraint is used to capture the inherent global structure information of data. Finally, we introduce a classification loss term with transformation matrix for joint optimization, such that the projection learning is not limited to number of classes, and the discriminative ability is further improved. Comprehensive experimental results on six benchmarks verify that our method achieves promising performance with other state-of-the-arts in both robustness and effectiveness.

Abstract
Edge states of two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) are crucial to quantum circuits and optoelectronics. However, their dynamics are pivotal but remain unclear due to the edge states being obscured by their bulk counterparts. Herein, we study the state-resolved transient absorption spectra of ball-milling-produced MoS2 nanosheets with 10 nm lateral size with highly exposed free edges. Electron energy loss spectroscopy and first-principles calculations confirm that the edge states are located in the range from 1.23 to 1.78 eV. Upon above bandgap excitations, excitons populate and diffuse toward the boundary, where the potential gradient blocks excitons and the edge states are formed through interband transitions within 400 fs. With below bandgap excitations, edge states are slowed down to 1.1 ps due to the weakened valence orbital coupling. These results shed light on the fundamental exciton dissociation processes on the boundary of functionalized TMDCs, enabling the ground work for applications in optoelectronics and light-harvesting.

Abstract
LINC-PINT is a p53-induced long intergenic noncoding transcript that plays a crucial role in many diseases, especially cancer. This long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) gene produces in total 102 (LNCipedia) alternatively spliced variants (LINC-PINT:1 to LINC-PINT:102). The functions of known variants include RNA transcripts, host transcripts for circular RNA (circRNA) generation and as sources for the translation of short peptides. In most human tumors, LINC-PINT is down-regulated where it serves as a tumor suppressor. However, the diversity of its functions in other maladies signifies its general clinical importance. Current LINC-PINT molecular functions include RNA-protein interactions, miRNA sponging and epigenetic modulation with these mechanisms operating in different cellular contexts to exert effects on biological processes ranging from DNA damage responses, cell cycle and growth arrest, senescence, cell migration and invasion, and apoptosis. Genetic polymorphisms in LINC-PINT have also been functionally associated with cancer and other pathologies including the autoimmune diseases pemphigus foliaceus and arthritis. Hence, LINC-PINT shows great potential as a clinical biomarker, especially for the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer. In this review, we explore the current knowledge highlighting the distinctive molecular functions of LINC-PINT in specific cancers and other disease states. Abstract
Gastric cancer (GC) is a highly fatal and common malignancy of the digestive system. Recent therapeutic advancements have significantly improved the clinical outcomes in GC, but due to the unavailability of suitable molecular targets, a large number of patients do not respond to the immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) therapy. To identify and validate potential therapeutic and prognostic targets of gastric cancer, we used the “inferCNV” R package for analyzing single-cell sequencing data (GSE112302) of GC and normal epithelial cells. First, by using LASSO, we screened genes that were highly correlated with copy number variations (CNVs). Therefrom, five gene signature (CPVL, DDC, GRTP1, ONECUT2, and PRSS21) was selected by cross-validating the prognosis and risk management with the GC RNA-seq data obtained from GEO and TCGA. Moreover, the correlation analyses between CNVs of these genes and immune cell infiltration in gastric cancer identified CPVL as a potential prognostic marker. Finally, CPVL showed high expression in gastric cancer samples and cell lines, then siRNA-mediated silencing of CPVL expression in gastric cancer cells showed significant proliferation arrest in MGC803 cells. Here, we conclude that CNVs are key regulators of the immune cells infiltration in gastric TME as well as cancer development, and CPVL could potentially be used as a prognostic and therapeutic marker in gastric cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of periodontitis and inflammatory factors toward the occurrence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods: Pregnant women who came to the Department of Obstetrics, Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital for prenatal examinations during March to November of 2021 were invited to participate in this study. Participants with GDM who met the inclusion criteria (n=100) were assigned into the case group; while healthy participants (n=100) were assigned into the control group. Information of participants from the two groups were collected by questionnaires and periodontal statuses were clinically recorded in the meantime. Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and venous blood were also collected from participants of two groups to analyze the expression levels of inflammatory factors like C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and IL-33. Factors different between the two groups were included in the multivariate regression analysis model to determine the risk factors of GDM. Results: The age of participants was (33.4±5.1) years in case group and (30.5±4.5) years in control group respectively, which had statistical differences (t=4.33,P<0.001). Besides, the body mass index of participants from case group was also significantly higher than control group [(28.11±3.85) kg/m2 vs. (23.31±3.15) kg/m2, t=9.65, P<0.001]. Participants with GDM had more adverse periodontal clinical parameters. Prevalence of periodontitis in GDM group was 47.0% (47/100) compared with 29.0% (29/100) in control group (χ²=6.88, P=0.009). Multivariate regression analysis results indicated that periodontitis was a critical risk factor for the occurrence of GDM (OR=1.882, P<0.001). Besides, GCF IL-8, serum TNF-α, IL-8 and IL-10 were also risk factors of GDM due to their higher expressions. Among them, TNF-α in serum (OR=2.077) and IL-8 in serum (OR=2.060) had more significant impacts (P<0.001). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that periodontitis was associated with the occurrence of GDM. Up-regulation of serum pro-inflammatory mediators leaded by local periodontal inflammatory microenvironment might play a critical role in this pathological process.

Abstract
Classical activation of macrophage and monocyte differentiation induced by β-glucan is accompanied with metabolic change in glucose. However, the role of the metabolic rewiring in monocyte/macrophage activation remains elusive. In this study, we show that berberine induces aerobic glycolysis by blocking the tricarboxylic acid cycle and modulates cytokine responses in bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) from mice and human PBMC. 13-Methyberberine had activities on glucose metabolism and BMDM activation similar to those of berberine, whereas other tested derivatives lost both activities. Glucose transporter (GLUT)1 expression and total cellular hexokinase activity increased gradually in BMDMs in the presence of berberine. In the contrast, LPS upregulated GLUT1 and 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase 3 (PFKFB3) levels in 6 h. Extracellular glucose levels and replacing glucose with galactose in culture medium affected the cytokine secretion of BMDMs. Berberine alleviated enteritis of Salmonella typhimurium infection and protected mice against endotoxic shock. In mice i.p. injected with LPS, the increase of serum TNF-α and the drop of blood glucose were attenuated by berberine treatment. These data together demonstrated that macrophage activation was closely related with glucose metabolism.

Abstract
Objective Knowledge of the role of CYP2E1 in hepatocarcinogenesis is largely based on epidemiological and animal studies, with a primary focus on the role of CYP2E1 in metabolic activation of procarcinogens. Few studies have directly assessed the effects of CYP2E1 on HCC malignant phenotypes. Methods The expression of CYP2E1 in HCC tissues was determined by qRT-PCR, western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Overexpression of CYP2E1 in HCC cell was achieved by lentivirus transfection. The function of CYP2E1 were detected by CCK-8, wound healing, transwell assays, xenograft models and pulmonary metastasis model. TOP/FOPFlash reporter assay, western blotting, functional rescue experiments, Co-immunoprecipitation and reactive oxygen species detection were conducted to reveal the underlying mechanism of the tumor suppressive role of CYP2E1. Results CYP2E1 expression is down-regulated in HCC tissues, and this downregulation was associated with large tumor diameter, vascular invasion, poor differentiation, and shortened patient survival time. Ectopic expression of CYP2E1 inhibits the proliferation, invasion and migration and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition of HCC cells in vitro, and inhibits tumor formation and lung metastasis in nude mice. Mechanistic investigations show that CYP2E1 overexpression significantly inhibited Wnt/β-catenin signaling activity and decreased Dvl2 expression in HCC cells. An increase in Dvl2 expression restored the malignant phenotype of HCC cells. Notably, CYP2E1 promoted the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of Dvl2 by strengthening the interaction between Dvl2 and the E3 ubiquitin ligase KLHL12 in CYP2E1-stable HCC cells. CYP2E1-induced ROS accumulation was a critical upstream event in the Wnt/β-Catenin pathway in CYP2E1-overexpressing HCC cells. Conclusions These results provide novel insight into the role of CYP2E1 in HCC and the tumor suppressor role of CYP2E1 can be attributed to its ability to manipulate Wnt/Dvl2/β-catenin pathway via inducing ROS accumulation, which provides a potential target for the prevention and treatment of HCC. Abstract
PURPOSE This study examines the effect of intraoperative doctor-patient communication with real-time videos in flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy on patients' anxiety and depression. METHODS Patients with upper urinary tract calculi were randomised into four groups. Group A (n = 29) watched the real-time operation video, but did not accept the relevant explanation during the operation; Group B (n = 31) received an explanation about the operation process during the operation alone. Patients in Group C (n = 33) watched the real-time operation video and received an explanation about the operation process during the operation. Group D (n = 31) neither watched the operation video nor received an explanation about the operation process. The self-rated anxiety and depression scores of the patients were evaluated using the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and the self-rating depression scale (SDS) before and after the operation. RESULTS The clinical and demographic profiles (average age, gender distribution, educational level, body mass index, stone size, the position of stones in each groups, the length of stayand the numbers of severe postoperative complications) of the for groups showed no preoperation difference (P > 0.05). The preoperative anxiety scores and the preoperative depression scores showed no significant difference in the four groups (P > 0.05). The scores of postoperative anxiety and depression in groups A (n = 29), B (n = 31), and C (n = 33) were significantly lower than those in Group D (n = 31), (P < 0. 05). Compared to groups A and B, the scores of anxiety and depression in Group C were significantly decreased (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION During flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy, doctor-patient communication combined with real-time video can significantly reduce patients' postoperative anxiety and depression, and contribute to their physical and mental health recovery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gestational trophoblastic diseases (GTDs) are characterized by vascular abnormalities of the trophoblast, but their pathogenesis is unknown. Angiogenin (ANG) and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, which are molecules implicated in the angiogenic process, may play some role in this process. MATERIAL AND METHODS We determined ANG and MMP-2 in the placental tissues of 26 patients who had a benign mole (BM), 12 patients with gestational trophoblast neoplasia (GTN) (1 invasive hydatidiform mole, 10 choriocarcinomas, and 1 placental-site trophoblastic tumor), and 28 normal chorionic villi (NCV) subjects using immunohistochemistry staining. We obtained the serum samples from 20 patients with GTDs and 20 early pregnant women and evaluated them by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS ANG expression in GTN (66.7%) and BM (100%) samples were both significantly higher (strong/intermediate staining) than in NCV (60.7%) samples (P < .001). Similarly, the immunoreactivities of MMP-2 in the GTN (66.7%) and BM (80.8%) samples were significantly elevated compared to that of the NCV (57.1%) samples (P < .001). The levels of ANG and MMP-2 in the maternal serum of the GTN group were both significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .001). ANG and MMP-2 expressions were associated with gestation age, clinical stage, and FIGO stage. A positive correlation between ANG and MMP-2 expression was observed (rs = 0.725; P < .01). CONCLUSION ANG and MMP-2 levels were significantly elevated in the placental tissues and maternal serum from patients with GTDs. Further studies with more patients may clarify the vascular abnormalities in GTDs and determine potential biomarkers in the differential diagnosis of GTDs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low-dose aspirin has been the most widely studied preventive drug for preeclampsia. However, guidelines differ considerably from country to country regarding the prophylactic use of aspirin for preeclampsia. There is limited evidence from large trials to determine the effect of 100 mg of aspirin for preeclampsia screening in women with high-risk pregnancies, based on maternal risk factors, and to guide the use of low-dose aspirin in preeclampsia prevention in China. OBJECTIVE The Low-Dose Aspirin in the Prevention of Preeclampsia in China study was designed to evaluate the effect of 100 mg of aspirin in preventing preeclampsia among high-risk pregnant women screened with maternal risk factors in China, where preeclampsia is highly prevalent, and the status of low-dose aspirin supply is commonly suboptimal. STUDY DESIGN We conducted a multicenter randomized controlled trial at 13 tertiary hospitals from 11 provinces in China between 2016 and 2019. We assumed that the relative reduction in the incidence of preeclampsia was at least 20%, from 20% in the control group to 16% in the aspirin group. Therefore, the targeted recruitment number was 1000 participants. Women were randomly assigned to the aspirin or control group in a 1:1 allocation ratio. Statistical analyses were performed according to an intention-to-treat basis. The primary outcome was the incidence of preeclampsia, diagnosed along with a systolic blood pressure of ≥140 mm Hg or a diastolic blood pressure of ≥90 mm Hg after 20 weeks of gestation, with a previously normal blood pressure (systolic blood pressure of <140 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure of <90 mm Hg), and complicated by proteinuria. The secondary outcomes included maternal and neonatal outcomes. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the significance of difference of preeclampsia incidence between the groups for both the primary and secondary outcomes. Interaction analysis was also performed. RESULTS A total of 1000 eligible women were recruited between December 2016 and March 2019, of which the final 898 patients were analyzed (464 participants in the aspirin group, 434 participants in the control group) on an intention-to-treat basis. No significant difference was found in preeclampsia incidence between the aspirin group (16.8% [78/464]) and the control group (17.1% [74/434]; relative risk, 0.986; 95% confidence interval, 0.738-1.317; P=.924). Likewise, adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes did not differ significantly between the 2 groups. Meanwhile, the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage between the 2 groups was similar (6.5% [30/464] in the aspirin group and 5.3% [23/434] in the control group; relative risk, 1.220; 95% confidence interval, 0.720-2.066; P=.459). We did not find any significant differences in preeclampsia incidence between the 2 groups in the subgroup analysis of the different risk factors. CONCLUSION A dosage of 100 mg of aspirin per day, initiated from 12 to 20 gestational weeks until 34 weeks of gestation, did not reduce the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women with high-risk factors in China.
