Abstract
Myotonic dystrophy (DM) encompasses a spectrum of neuromuscular diseases characterized by myotonia, muscle weakness, and wasting. Recent research has led to the recognition of DM as a neurological disorder. Cognitive impairment is a central nervous system condition that has been observed in various forms of DM. Neuroimaging studies have increasingly linked DM to alterations in white matter (WM) integrity and highlighted the relationship between cognitive impairment and abnormalities in WM structure. This review aims to summarize investigations into cognitive impairment and brain abnormalities in individuals with DM and to elucidate the correlation between these factors and the potential underlying mechanisms contributing to these abnormalities.

Abstract
Lower-limb rehabilitation exoskeletons offer a transformative approach to enhancing recovery in patients with movement disorders affecting the lower extremities. This comprehensive systematic review delves into the literature on sensor technologies and the control strategies integrated into these exoskeletons, evaluating their capacity to address user needs and scrutinizing their structural designs regarding sensor distribution as well as control algorithms. The review examines various sensing modalities, including electromyography (EMG), force, displacement, and other innovative sensor types, employed in these devices to facilitate accurate and responsive motion control. Furthermore, the review explores the strengths and limitations of a diverse array of lower-limb rehabilitation-exoskeleton designs, highlighting areas of improvement and potential avenues for further development. In addition, the review investigates the latest control algorithms and analysis methods that have been utilized in conjunction with these sensor systems to optimize exoskeleton performance and ensure safe and effective user interactions. By building a deeper understanding of the diverse sensor technologies and monitoring systems, this review aims to contribute to the ongoing advancement of lower-limb rehabilitation exoskeletons, ultimately improving the quality of life for patients with mobility impairments.

Abstract
Servant leadership has received a growing consideration among scholars and practitioners as a viable leadership model capable of bringing positive changes in the increasingly complex healthcare system. The increasing servant leadership literature in healthcare requires an integrated research work that provides a holistic picture of the existing studies. This systematic review aims to synthesize servant leadership conceptualizations, theoretical frameworks, measurement tools, and nomological networks (antecedents, mediators, outcomes, and moderators) associated with prior research in healthcare. A systematic synthesis of 55 pertinent healthcare-specific conceptual and empirical studies demonstrated that servant leadership assumes a crucial role in developing a committed workforce that contributes towards the achievement of performance excellence in healthcare. The review uncovers that the Global Servant Leadership Scale is the most utilized measure of servant leadership in sector-specific studies in healthcare. Moreover, social exchange theory is the dominant underpinning mechanism explaining the influence of servant leadership on specific variables of interest. The findings further revealed that servant leadership has a positive relationship with a range of valued individual and organizational outcomes in healthcare. Our review contributes to the development of servant leadership theory and practice through ascertaining sector-specific studies in the territory of healthcare. We finally conclude by providing a detailed panorama for future healthcare-specific servant leadership research in terms of potential topics, methodological rigor, and less explored variables in prior studies.

Abstract
Gel systems are widely used as plugging materials in the oil and gas industry. Gas channeling can be mitigated by reducing the heterogeneity of the formation and the mobility ratio of CO2 to crude oil. Cracks and other CO2 leaking pathways can be plugged during the geological storage of CO2 to increase the storage stability. By adding CO2-responsive groups to the classic polymer gel's molecular chain, CO2 responsive gel is able to seal and recognize CO2 in the formation while maintaining the superior performance of traditional polymer gel. The application of CO2 responsive gels in oil and gas production is still in the stage of laboratory testing on the whole. To actually achieve the commercial application of CO2 responsive gels in the oil and gas industry, it is imperative to thoroughly understand the CO2 responsive mechanisms of the various types of CO2 responsive gels, as well as the advantages and drawbacks of the gels and the direction of future development prospects. This work provides an overview of the research progress and response mechanisms of various types of CO2 responsive groups and CO2 responsive gels. Studies of the CO2 responsive gel development, injectivity, and plugging performance are comprehensively reviewed and summarized. The shortcomings of the existing CO2 responsive gels system are discussed and the paths for future CO2 responsive gel development are suggested.

Abstract
Purpose Primary angiitis of the adult central nervous system (PACNS) is an increasingly recognized but limited disease. Using previous case reports, we sought to summarize the clinical symptoms, imaging manifestations, treatment, and prognosis of patients with biopsy-confirmed PACNS to guide clinical diagnosis and management. Methods We searched the Web of Science database for studies published from January 2000 to April 2023, with the language set to English and the document type limited to [Article or Review or Letter or Editorial Material]. A systematic review of all case reports met the inclusion and exclusion criteria was performed. These patients' clinical, pathological, and imaging characteristics were analyzed, and treatment and prognostic data were summarized. Results We analyzed 69 articles, including 76 patients with biopsy-confirmed PACNS. And 57.9% of the patients were male, the median age at presentation was 47.0 years, and focal neurological deficits were the most common symptom in patients (78.9%), followed by headache (52.6%). The median duration of biopsy was 1.1 months, of which 49 (64.5%) patients were lymphocytic, 13 (17.1%) were granulomatous, 11 (14.5%) were amyloidotic, and 3 (3.9%) were necrotizing PACNS. Relapse events occurred in 41 (53.9%) patients, including 34 (44.2%) relapses and 8 (10.5%) deaths. Univariate logistic regression analysis revealed that symptomatic epilepsy, prolonged biopsy time window, and CD20 expression in pathological tissues might be independent risk factors for recurrent events in patients (HR=4.69, 95% CI: 1.51-14.54, p=0.007; HR=1.11, 95% CI: 1.00-1.22, p=0.043; HR=5.33, 95% CI: 1.07-26.61, p=0.041). Conclusion Adult PACNS is associated with frequent relapses and high mortality. Symptomatic epilepsy, prolonged biopsy time window, and CD20 expression in pathological tissue may be associated with recurrent events.

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a global health concern characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, and its vascular consequences in the lower extremities pose significant challenges for individuals living with the condition. This comprehensive review delves into the multifaceted landscape of diabetes-related vascular complications in the lower limbs, with a primary focus on current strategies for management and the evaluation of clinical outcomes. This review achieves several critical objectives by synthesizing existing knowledge and research findings. It elucidates the intricate pathophysiological mechanisms underpinning these complications, shedding light on the cellular and molecular processes involved. Additionally, it outlines clinical assessment and diagnostic strategies used to identify and stratify risk, ranging from cutting-edge imaging techniques to clinical examinations. The review comprehensively examines current management strategies, encompassing lifestyle modifications, pharmacological interventions, surgical procedures, and wound care practices. Moreover, it assesses and analyzes clinical outcomes, including limb salvage rates, amputation rates, and overall quality of life for individuals undergoing treatment. In addressing the challenges faced in managing these complications, this review aims to contribute to improved patient care. It proposes future research directions to enhance the management and outcomes of diabetes-related vascular consequences in the lower extremities.

Abstract
Heart failure is a substantial and escalating global health challenge, affecting millions worldwide. This complex syndrome arises from diverse etiologies, encompassing ischemic heart disease, hypertension, valvular abnormalities, and cardiomyopathies. Heart failure is characterized by the heart's inability to pump blood efficiently to meet the body's metabolic demands, leading to debilitating symptoms, frequent hospitalizations, and high mortality rates. Traditionally, the management of Heart failure has focused on alleviating symptoms, reducing fluid retention, and enhancing cardiac contractility. These goals have been achieved through a combination of pharmacological therapies such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, beta-blockers, and diuretics, often complemented by device-based interventions like implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy. However, despite these advances, the relentless progression of heart failure remains a significant clinical challenge. Neurohormonal activation, cardiac fibrosis, and cellular remodeling are just a few of the intricate processes contributing to the disease's progression. In recent years, researchers and clinicians have embarked on a quest to identify novel therapeutic approaches that address these underlying mechanisms. One such avenue of exploration involves the revolutionary field of gene therapy, with promising gene-editing techniques, such as CRISPR-Cas9, offering potential routes for correcting genetic mutations that contribute to heart failure. Additionally, regenerative medicine approaches, including stem cell therapy and tissue engineering, hold significant promise for repairing damaged cardiac tissue and restoring function. Furthermore, precision medicine initiatives have gained traction, aiming to tailor heart failure therapies to individual patient profiles, taking into account genetics, biomarkers, and comorbidities. Integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning in heart failure management has also enabled the development of predictive models for early intervention, risk stratification, and personalized treatment recommendations. This narrative review navigates the intricate landscape of emerging therapies for heart failure, emphasizing their potential to revolutionize the field by targeting the disease's fundamental mechanisms. By exploring these innovative approaches, we aspire to provide a comprehensive perspective on the evolving paradigm of heart failure management, fostering a hopeful outlook for patients and clinicians alike.

Abstract
Wound healing is a dynamic process that is controlled by many factors. The interest in developing wound dressings capable of providing the required environment for the proper wound healing process is ever expanding, and particles occupy a sizable share of the research area. This comprehensive review reports 10 years of research in terms of current advances, delivery system evaluation, outcomes and future directions. The review follows a clearly defined method of article search and screening. Retrieved papers are reviewed regarding the materials, formulation development, and in vitro/in vivo testing of particles-based wound dressings. The review summarized the current status of medicated wound dressing research, identifies gaps to be addressed, and represents a reference for researchers working on wound dressings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Australia's social, structural, and political context, together with the continuing impact of colonisation, perpetuates health care and outcome disparities for First Nations Australians. A new approach led by First Nations Australians is required to address these disparities. Co-design is emerging as a valued method for First Nations Australian communities to drive change in health policy and practice to better meet their needs and priorities. However, it is critical that co-design processes and outcomes are culturally safe and effective. Aims: This project aimed to identify the current evidence around optimal approaches to co-design in health with First Nations Australians. METHODS First Nations Australian co-led team conducted a comprehensive review to identify peer-reviewed and grey literature reporting the application of co-design in health-related areas by and with First Nations Australians. A First Nations Co-Design Working Group (FNCDWG) was established to guide this work and team.A Collaborative Yarning Methodology (CYM) was used to conduct a thematic analysis of the included literature. RESULTS After full-text screening, 99 studies were included. Thematic analysis elicited the following six key themes, which included 28 practical sub-themes, relevant to co-design in health with First Nations Australians: First Nations Australians leadership; Culturally grounded approach; Respect; Benefit to First Nations communities; Inclusive partnerships; and Evidence-based decision making. CONCLUSION The findings of this review provide a valuable snapshot of the existing evidence to be used as a starting point to guide appropriate and effective applications of co-design in health with First Nations Australians.

Abstract
Microbes can be found almost everywhere in the world. They are not isolated, but rather interact with each other and establish connections with their living environments. Studying these interactions is essential to an understanding of the organization and complex interplay of microbial communities, as well as the structure and dynamics of various ecosystems. A widely used approach toward this objective involves the inference of microbiome interaction networks. However, owing to the compositional, high-dimensional, sparse, and heterogeneous nature of observed microbial data, applying network inference methods to estimate their associations is challenging. In addition, external environmental interference and biological concerns also make it more difficult to deal with the network inference. In this article, we provide a comprehensive review of emerging microbiome interaction network inference methods. According to various research targets, estimated networks are divided into four main categories: correlation networks, conditional correlation networks, mixture networks, and differential networks. Their assumptions, high-level ideas, advantages, as well as limitations, are presented in this review. Since real microbial interactions can be complex and dynamic, no unifying method has, to date, captured all the aspects of interest. In addition, we discuss the challenges now confronting current microbial interaction study and future prospects. Finally, we point out several feasible directions of microbial network inference analysis and highlight that future research requires the joint promotion of statistical computation methods and experimental techniques.

Abstract
Hypospadias is one of the most common congenital malformations in boys. Due to abnormal appearance in the penis with abnormal urination and erection, patients with hypospadias were vulnerable to suffering from stress and psychiatric difficulties. The present study aims to summarize all the current evidence of the association between hypospadias and the risk of psychiatric disorders by a comprehensive review. Seventeen clinical studies were identified in the four electronic databases. A total of 953,872 participants were involved, while 15,729 of them were hypospadiac patients and the remaining 938,143 were normal controls. The standard age for surgery for hypospadias ranged from 20.4 months to 21.5 years. Eight out of seventeen (8/17, 47%) included studies explicitly showed that patients with hypospadias had a significantly higher risk of psychosocial disorders (all P < 0.05). Specific types of psychiatric disorders included depression, anxiety, shyness, timidness, isolation, fear of ridicule, attention-deficit hyperactivity, autism spectrum, behavioral/emotional disorders, temper tantrums, emotionality, affective, psychosexual problems, and suicidal tendencies. Based on this review, psychiatric illnesses are frequently detected in hypospadiac patients' childhood, thus proper psychiatric guidance and early interventions from physicians, nurses, and parents may help these children to grow into less affected men.

Abstract
Men with erectile dysfunction (ED) are considered to be at risk from stroke events. Conversely, post-stroke patients are also at high risk of ED, whereas a quantitative result from all the relevant studies has not been previously addressed. Therefore, we have performed a comprehensive review and meta-analysis on this issue. This study was registered on PROSPERO (ID No. CRD42021226618). Twenty studies with a total of 3,382 stroke events were included, of which six studies were included for quantitative analysis, and the remaining 14 studies were calculated for the ratio of ED. Synthetic results from four eligible studies providing the ED cases showed that stroke patients were associated with a significantly higher risk of ED than the general population [pooled relative risk (RR) = 3.32, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.25–8.82, P = 0.016]. Men with stroke were also found to be associated with a significant decline in International Index of Erectile Function −5 (IIEF-5) score as compared with the healthy controls [three studies, standard mean differences (SMD) = −1.8, 95% CI: −2.94 to −0.67, P = 0.002]. The prevalence of ED in post-stroke patients among 14 studies ranged from 32.1 to 77.8%, which was dramatically higher than that of the general population. The result of the GRADE-pro revealed that the quality of the evidence in this study was moderate. The present study has confirmed the high prevalence of ED in men with stroke. ED in stroke patients is a result of both neurological and psychological factors. Rehabilitative interventions rather than phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors are recommended to improve the erectile function for those survivors with ED.

Abstract
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a devastating progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects motor neurons, leading to a relentless paralysis of skeletal muscles and eventual respiratory failure. Although a small percentage of patients may have a longer survival time (up to 10 years), in most cases, the median survival time is from 20 to 48 months. The pathogenesis and risk factors for ALS are still unclear: among the various aspects taken into consideration, metabolic abnormalities and nutritional factors have been the focus of recent interests. Although there are no consistent findings regarding prior type-2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia and ALS incidence, abnormalities in lipid and glucose metabolism may be linked to disease progression, leading to a relatively longer survival (probably as a result of counteract malnutrition and cachexia in the advanced stages of the disease). Among potential dietary risk factors, a higher risk of ALS has been associated with an increased intake of glutamate, while the consumption of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, such as vitamin E, n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, and carotenoids, has been related to lower incidence. Poor nutritional status and weight loss in ALS resulting from poor oral intake, progressive muscle atrophy, and the potential hypermetabolic state have been associated with rapid disease progression. It seems important to routinely perform a nutritional assessment of ALS patients at the earliest referral: weight maintenance (if adequate) or gain (if underweight) is suggested from the scientific literature; evidence of improved diet quality (in terms of nutrients and limits for pro-inflammatory dietary factors) and glucose and lipid control is yet to be confirmed, but it is advised. Further research is warranted to better understand the role of nutrition and the underlying metabolic abnormalities in ALS, and their contribution to the pathogenic mechanisms leading to ALS initiation and progression.

Abstract
[Table: see text] Upon request from the European Commission, the scientific and technical guidance for the preparation and presentation of an application for authorisation of a health claim initially published in 2007 and subsequently revised in 2011 and 2016 has been updated. This guidance document presents a common format for the organisation of information for the preparation of a well-structured application for authorisation of health claims which fall under Articles 13(5), 14, and 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006. This guidance outlines: the information and scientific data which must be included in the application, the hierarchy of different types of data and study designs, and the key issues which should be addressed in the application to substantiate the health claim. This guidance has been revised in 2020 to inform applicants of new provisions in the pre-submission phase and in the application procedure set out in Regulation (EC) No 178/2002, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2019/1381 on the transparency and sustainability of the EU risk assessment in the food chain, that are applicable to all applications submitted as of 27 March 2021. The 2016 version of this guidance remains applicable to applications submitted before 27 March 2021.

Abstract
Background: Coronaviruses are major pathogens of respiratory system causing different disorders, including the common cold, Middle East respiratory syndrome, and severe acute respiratory syndrome. Today's global pandemic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has high mortality rate, with an approximate of 20% in some studies, and is 30–60 times more fatal than the common annual influenza, However, there is still no gold standard treatment for it. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a well-known multi-potential drug with hypothetically probable acceptable effect on COVID-related consequences, which we completely focused in this comprehensive review. Materials and Methods: PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, and Google Scholar have been searched. Study eligibility criteria: efficacy of NAC in various subclasses of pathogenic events which may occur during COVID-19 infection. Efficacy of NAC for managing inflammatory or any symptoms similar to symptoms of COVID-19 was reviewed and symptom improvements were assessed. Results: Randomized clinical trials introduced NAC as an antioxidant glutathione analog and detoxifying agent promoted for different medical conditions and pulmonary disorders to alleviate influenza and reduce mortality by 50% in influenza-infected animals. The beneficial effects of NAC on viral disorders, including Epstein–Barr virus, HIV and hepatitis, and well-known vital organ damages were also exist and reported. Conclusion: We classified the probable effects of NAC as oxidative-regulatory and apoptotic-regulatory roles, antiviral activities, anti-inflammatory roles, preventive and therapeutic roles in lung disorders and better oxygenation functions, supportive roles in intensive care unit admitted patients and in sepsis, positive role in other comorbidities and nonpulmonary end-organ damages or failures and even in primary COVID-associated cutaneous manifestations. Based on different beneficial effects of NAC, it could be administered as a potential adjuvant therapy for COVID-19 considering patient status, contraindications, and possible drug-related adverse events.

Abstract
Respiratory monitoring is essential in sleep studies, sport training, patient monitoring, or health at work, among other applications. This paper presents a comprehensive systematic review of respiration sensing systems. After several systematic searches in scientific repositories, the 198 most relevant papers in this field were analyzed in detail. Different items were examined: sensing technique and sensor, respiration parameter, sensor location and size, general system setup, communication protocol, processing station, energy autonomy and power consumption, sensor validation, processing algorithm, performance evaluation, and analysis software. As a result, several trends and the remaining research challenges of respiration sensors were identified. Long-term evaluations and usability tests should be performed. Researchers designed custom experiments to validate the sensing systems, making it difficult to compare results. Therefore, another challenge is to have a common validation framework to fairly compare sensor performance. The implementation of energy-saving strategies, the incorporation of energy harvesting techniques, the calculation of volume parameters of breathing, or the effective integration of respiration sensors into clothing are other remaining research efforts. Addressing these and other challenges outlined in the paper is a required step to obtain a feasible, robust, affordable, and unobtrusive respiration sensing system.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cytology is widely utilized in the initial evaluation of fluid accumulation in the body cavities. The aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of cytology in distinguishing between benign and malignant (MAL) effusions. METHODS A comprehensive and systematic review of the literature was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of serous effusion cytology (SEC) against tissue biopsy/resection histology, imaging, or clinical follow-up as the reference test. Risk of publication bias and level of heterogeneity in the included studies was assessed. Meta-regression was performed to assess the effect of various variables on the accuracy of SEC. RESULTS Eighty studies met the inclusion criteria for meta-analysis comprising of 34 941 samples; of which 52 (0.2%), 22 202 (72.7%), 194 (0.6%), 711 (2.3%), and 6507 (21.3%) could be reclassified as nondiagnostic (ND), negative for malignancy (NFM), atypical (atypia of uncertain significance-AUS), suspicious for malignancy (SFM), and malignant (MAL), respectively. On follow-up, the mean risk of malignancy for ND, NFM, AUS, SFM, MAL was 17.4%, 20.7%, 65.9%, 81.8%, and 98.9%, respectively. A total of 73 studies were included in estimating the diagnostic accuracy of SEC. The bivariate mixed-effect model estimated the SEC sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic odds ratio, positive likelihood ratio, and negative likelihood ratio as 73.1%, 99.9%, 7850.6%, 2112.2%, and 0.27%, respectively. CONCLUSION Serous effusion cytology shows high specificity and moderate sensitivity in the evaluation of serous effusions. A tiered classification scheme can improve the consistency of terminology for reporting SEC results, thus improving communication between the pathologists and clinical team, and quality of patient care.

Abstract
Objectives: To provide a comprehensive review of radiological clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and to establish their characteristics and impact in the field of radiology. Material and Methods: A MEDLINE search was performed for CPGs in which at least half of the authors were from the radiology or imaging department. The following information was extracted from each CPG: year of publication, journal, provider, number of authors, number of pages, number of references, collaboration, country of origin, radiological subspecialty, imaging modality used, topic, source of funding, and number and pattern of citations. Results: In total, 120 radiological CPGs published between July 2006 and June 2016 were identified. One hundred nine (90.8%) radiological CPGs were published in radiology journals, 96 (80.0%) were provided by the scientific community, 108 (90.0%) were collaborative studies, 64 (53.3%) originated from the United States, 36 (30.0%) were concerned with the field of vascular/interventional radiology, 38 (31.7%) used combined imaging techniques, 52 (43.3%) were focused on interpretation and management, and 118 (98.4%) were not funded. Radiological CPGs included a median of 8 authors, 9 pages, and 49 references. The median number of citations and annual citations were 18 (range, 0–540) and 3.5 (range, 0–75.6), respectively. Conclusion: Our study presents several interesting insights into the characteristics and impact of radiological CPGs.

Abstract
Worldwide use of anticoagulant rodenticides (ARs) for rodents control has frequently led
to secondary poisoning of non-target animals, especially raptors. In spite of the
occurrence of many incidents of primary or secondary AR-exposure and poisoning of
non-target animals, these incidents have been reported only for individual countries, and
there has been no comprehensive worldwide study or review. Furthermore, the AR exposure
pathway in raptors has not yet been clearly identified. The aim of this review is
therefore to comprehensively analyze the global incidence of primary and secondary
AR-exposure in non-target animals, and to explore the exposure pathways. We reviewed the
published literature, which reported AR residues in the non-target animals between 1998
and 2015, indicated that various raptor species had over 60% AR- detection rate and have a
risk of AR poisoning. According to several papers studied on diets of raptor species,
although rodents are the most common diets of raptors, some raptor species prey mainly on
non-rodents. Therefore, preying on targeted rodents does not necessarily explain all
causes of secondary AR-exposure of raptors. Since AR residue-detection was also reported
in non-target mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates, which are the dominant prey of
some raptors, AR residues in these animals, as well as in target rodents, could be the
exposure source of ARs to raptors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multiple micronutrient supplementation has been suggested to have a role on health outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF), but the evidence is inconclusive. OBJECTIVE To elucidate the role of multiple micronutrient supplementation in heart failure we performed a comprehensive review of the literature. METHODS AND RESULTS The search in databases included PUBMED (until June 2018) to detect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyzes that investigated the impact of micronutrient supplementation in HF. RESULTS With more than 2357 titles and abstracts reviewed, we included only the studies suitable for the final review. Whether alone or in combination, micronutrients have been found to improve the health outcomes of patients with HF by improving symptoms, work capacity and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), thus increasing the quality of life in these patients. CONCLUSION Future studies are needed to document the effects of multiple micronutrient associations in order to include them in nutritional guidelines to increase survival and to improve quality of life in patients with heart failure.

Abstract
Background: Anthropogenic global warming, interacting with social and other environmental determinants, constitutes a profound health risk. This paper reports a comprehensive literature review for 1989⁻2013 (inclusive), the first 25 years in which this topic appeared in scientific journals. It explores the extent to which articles have identified potentially catastrophic, civilization-endangering health risks associated with climate change. Methods: PubMed and Google Scholar were primarily used to identify articles which were then ranked on a three-point scale. Each score reflected the extent to which papers discussed global systemic risk. Citations were also analyzed. Results: Of 2143 analyzed papers 1546 (72%) were scored as one. Their citations (165,133) were 82% of the total. The proportion of annual papers scored as three was initially high, as were their citations but declined to almost zero by 1996, before rising slightly from 2006. Conclusions: The enormous expansion of the literature appropriately reflects increased understanding of the importance of climate change to global health. However, recognition of the most severe, existential, health risks from climate change was generally low. Most papers instead focused on infectious diseases, direct heat effects and other disciplinary-bounded phenomena and consequences, even though scientific advances have long called for more inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Abstract
Several studies have reported that minimally- invasive total hip arthroplasty (MISTHA) may significantly reduce postoperative pain and results in faster postoperative rehabilitation when compared with the traditional lateral or posterior approach. Regarding bilateral hip osteoarthritis, there is still no consensus whether simultaneous bilateral MIS-THA can be established as the treatment of choice. Therefore, we searched the international databases of Pubmed, Medline, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews using the key words minimally invasive bilateral total hip arthroplasty. From the initial 23 articles we found five clinical studies which met our inclusion criteria. From the perspective of possible intra- and postoperative complications, one-stage bilateral MIS THA was equally safe or safer than two-stage interventions. In addition, from a clinical outcome perspective, the one-stage procedure can be considered to be preferable. Higher blood transfusion requirements, which were expected following the standard bilateral simultaneous THA, seemed to be minimized with the simultaneous bilateral MIS THA. The supine position of the patient minimized the mean operation time. Approaches using the lateral decubitus position of the patient should be avoided in simultaneous bilateral THA due to the increased operation time. There is a lack of randomized, controlled clinical trials, comparing simultaneous bilateral MIS THA with staged bilateral MIS THA. Although simultaneous bilateral MIS THA seems to be efficacious, cost-effective and safe, more clinical trials are required to establish its superiority over the sequential MIS THA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Understanding the efficacy and safety profile of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) in feline epilepsy is a crucial consideration for managing this important brain disease. However, there is a lack of information about the treatment of feline epilepsy and therefore a systematic review was constructed to assess current evidence for the AEDs' efficacy and tolerability in cats. The methods and materials of our former systematic reviews in canine epilepsy were mostly mirrored for the current systematic review in cats. Databases of PubMed, CAB Direct and Google scholar were searched to detect peer-reviewed studies reporting efficacy and/or adverse effects of AEDs in cats. The studies were assessed with regards to their quality of evidence, i.e. study design, study population, diagnostic criteria and overall risk of bias and the outcome measures reported, i.e. prevalence and 95% confidence interval of the successful and affected population in each study and in total. RESULTS Forty studies describing clinical outcomes of AEDs' efficacy and safety were included. Only two studies were classified as "blinded randomised controlled trials". The majority of the studies offered high overall risk of bias and described low feline populations with unclear diagnostic criteria and short treatment or follow-up periods. Individual AED assessments of efficacy and safety profile showed that phenobarbital might currently be considered as the first choice AED followed by levetiracetam and imepitoin. Only imepitoin's safety profile was supported by strong level of evidence. Imepitoin's efficacy as well as remaining AEDs' efficacy and safety profile were supported by weak level of evidence. CONCLUSIONS This systematic review reflects an evidence-based assessment of the published data on the AEDs' efficacy and safety for feline epilepsy. Currently, phenobarbital is likely to be the first-line for feline epileptic patients followed by levetiracetam and imepitoin. It is essential that clinicians evaluate both AEDs' effectiveness and tolerability before tailoring AED to the individual patient. Further studies in feline epilepsy treatment are by far crucial in order to establish definite guidelines for AEDs' efficacy and safety.

Abstract
EFSA asked the Panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies (NDA) to update the scientific and technical guidance for the preparation and presentation of an application for authorisation of a health claim published in 2011. Since then, the NDA Panel has gained considerable experience in the evaluation of health claims. Lessons learnt from these experiences have been translated into a new General scientific guidance for stakeholders on health claim applications (published in January 2016). In this context, it is noted the need to adapt the existing guidance to the new scientific and technical developments in this area. This guidance document presents a common format for the organisation of information for the preparation of a well-structured application for authorisation of health claims which fall under Articles 13(5), 14 and 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006. This guidance outlines the information and scientific data which must be included in the application, the hierarchy of different types of data and study designs, and the key issues which should be addressed in the application to substantiate the health claim.

Abstract
Direct conversion through transdifferentiation is a promising cell reprogramming approach that induces a cell lineage conversion among adult cells without passing through an intermediate pluripotent phase. However, there is a need to critically evaluate the efficacy and safety of direct conversion to establish its feasibility as a clinically viable cell reprogramming technique. This review article aims to delineate some critical constraints of direct conversion as a cellular reprogramming approach. We report the most important challenges of lineage reprogramming through direct conversion and divide them into two major sections. The first section explores the obstacles that limit the efficiency of the direct conversion process. In this study, we discuss challenges such as lack of understanding of molecular mechanism and transcriptional control of direct conversion, low proliferative capacity of converted cells, and senescence and apoptosis as critical barriers of direct conversion. The second section focuses on addressing concerns of safety of directly converted cells. We describe issues of transgene load and epigenetic memory retention along with the constraints of currently available validation tools to characterize reprogrammed cells. Each issue mentioned above is evaluated in view of their origin, implications, progress made toward their resolution and scope for development of new strategies to address the constraints of the present technique.

Abstract
Study Design Literature review. Objective Atlantoaxial dislocation (AAD) is a rare and potentially fatal disturbance to the normal occipital-cervical anatomy that affects some populations disproportionately, which may cause permanent neurologic deficits or sagittal deformity if not treated in a timely and appropriate manner. Currently, there is a lack of consensus among surgeons on the best approach to diagnose, characterize, and treat this condition. The objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive review of the literature to identify timely and effective diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities of AAD. Methods This review examined all articles published concerning "atlantoaxial dislocation" or "atlantoaxial subluxation" on the PubMed database. We included 112 articles published between 1966 and 2014. Results Results of these studies are summarized primarily as defining AAD, the normal anatomy, etiology of dislocation, clinical presentation, diagnostic techniques, classification, and recommendations for timely treatment modalities. Conclusions The Wang Classification System provides a practical means to diagnose and treat AAD. However, future research is required to identify the most salient intervention component or combination of components that lead to the best outcomes.

Abstract
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) refers to a popular therapeutic approach that has been applied to a variety of problems. The goal of this review was to provide a comprehensive survey of meta-analyses examining the efficacy of CBT. We identified 269 meta-analytic studies and reviewed of those a representative sample of 106 meta-analyses examining CBT for the following problems: substance use disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, depression and dysthymia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, eating disorders, insomnia, personality disorders, anger and aggression, criminal behaviors, general stress, distress due to general medical conditions, chronic pain and fatigue, distress related to pregnancy complications and female hormonal conditions. Additional meta-analytic reviews examined the efficacy of CBT for various problems in children and elderly adults. The strongest support exists for CBT of anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, bulimia, anger control problems, and general stress. Eleven studies compared response rates between CBT and other treatments or control conditions. CBT showed higher response rates than the comparison conditions in 7 of these reviews and only one review reported that CBT had lower response rates than comparison treatments. In general, the evidence-base of CBT is very strong. However, additional research is needed to examine the efficacy of CBT for randomized-controlled studies. Moreover, except for children and elderly populations, no meta-analytic studies of CBT have been reported on specific subgroups, such as ethnic minorities and low income samples.
