Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS The key step of the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) is nutritional risk screening, while the most appropriate screening tool for colorectal cancer (CRC) patients is yet unknown. The GLIM diagnosis relies on weight loss information, and bias or even failure to recall patients' historical weight can cause misestimates of malnutrition. We aimed to compare the suitability of several screening tools in GLIM diagnosis, and establish machine learning (ML) models to predict malnutrition in CRC patients without weight loss information. METHODS This multicenter cohort study enrolled 4487 CRC patients. The capability of GLIM diagnoses combined with four screening tools in predicting survival probability was compared by Kaplan-Meier curves, and the most accurate one was selected as the malnutrition reference standard. Participants were randomly assigned to a training cohort (n = 3365) and a validation cohort (n = 1122). Several ML approaches were adopted to establish models for predicting malnutrition without weight loss data. We estimated feature importance and reserved the top 30% of variables for retraining simplified models. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity were calculated to assess and compare model performance. RESULTS NRS-2002 was the most suitable screening tool for GLIM diagnosis in CRC patients, with the highest hazard ratio (1.59; 95% CI, 1.43-1.77). A total of 2076 (46.3%) patients were malnourished diagnosed by GLIM combined with NRS-2002. The simplified random forest (RF) model outperformed other models with an AUC of 0.830 (95% CI, 0.805-0.854), and accuracy, sensitivity and specificity were 0.775, 0.835 and 0.742, respectively. We deployed an online application based on the simplified RF model to accurately estimate malnutrition probability in CRC patients without weight loss information (https://zzuwtt1998.shinyapps.io/dynnomapp/). CONCLUSIONS Nutrition Risk Screening 2002 was the optimal initial nutritional risk screening tool in the GLIM process. The RF model outperformed other models, and an online prediction tool was developed to properly identify patients at high risk of malnutrition.

Abstract
Residual pesticides in Agrocybe aegerita mushroom have emerged as a significant concern and bring much uncertainty due to processing procedures. In this study, a modified QuEChERS sample preparation procedure and UPLC-MS/MS were used to analyze the residual levels of four commonly used pesticides in A. aegerita from field to product processing. The field results showed that dissipation of these targeted chemicals was consistent with the first-order kinetics, and the half-life time ranged from 20.4 h to 47.6 h. The terminal residues of the four pesticides at harvest time ranged from 9.81 to 4412.56 μg/kg in raw mushroom. The processing factors (PFs) of clothianidin, diflubenzuron, chlorbenzuron, and pyridaben ranged from 0.119 to 0.808 for the drying process and from 0.191 to 1 for the washing process. By integrating the data from the field trials, the PFs, and the consumption survey, the chronic dietary risks of the target chemicals via A. aegerita intake ranged from 2.41 × 10-5 to 5.69 × 10-2 for children and from 6.34 × 10-6 to 1.88 × 10-2 for adults, which are considerably below the threshold of 1, indicating no unacceptable risk to consumers in the Fujian province of China. This research offers foundational data for appropriate use and the maximum residue limit (MRL) establishment for these four insecticides in A. aegerita.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Body weight and its changes have been associated with cancer outcomes. However, the associations of short-term peridiagnosis weight dynamics in standardized, clinically operational time frames with cancer survival remain largely unknown. This study aimed to screen for and evaluate the optimal indicator of short-term peridiagnosis weight dynamics to predict overall survival (OS) in patients with cancer. METHODS This multicentre cohort study prospectively collected data from 7460 patients pathologically diagnosed with cancer between 2013 and 2019. Body weight data were recorded 1 month before, at the time of and 1 month following diagnosis. By permuting different types (point value in kg, point height-adjusted value in kg/m2, absolute change in kg or relative change in percentage) and time frames (prediagnosis, postdiagnosis or peridiagnosis), we generated 12 different weight-related indicators and compared their prognostic performance using Harrell's C-index, integrated discrimination improvement, continuous net reclassification improvement and time-dependent C-index. We analysed associations of peridiagnosis relative weight change (RWC) with OS using restricted cubic spine (RCS), Kaplan-Meier analysis and multivariable-adjusted Cox regression models. RESULTS The study enrolled 5012 males and 2448 females, with a median age of 59 years. During a median follow-up of 37 months, 1026 deaths occurred. Peridiagnosis (1 month before diagnosis to 1 month following diagnosis) RWC showed higher prognostic performance (Harrell's C-index = 0.601, 95% confidence interval [CI] = [0.583, 0.619]) than other types of indicators including body mass index (BMI), absolute weight change, absolute BMI change, prediagnosis RWC and postdiagnosis RWC in the study population (all P < 0.05). Time-dependent C-index analysis also indicated that peridiagnosis RWC was optimal for predicting OS. The multivariable-adjusted RCS analysis revealed an N-shaped non-linear association between peridiagnosis RWC and OS (PRWC < 0.001, Pnon-linear < 0.001). Univariate survival analysis showed that the peridiagnosis RWC groups could represent distinct mortality risk stratifications (P < 0.001). Multivariable survival analysis showed that, compared with the maintenance group (weight change < 5%), the significant (gain >10%, hazard ratio [HR] = 0.530, 95% CI = [0.413, 0.680]) and moderate (gain 5-10%, HR = 0.588, 95% CI = [0.422, 0.819]) weight gain groups were both associated with improved OS. In contrast, the moderate (loss 5-10%, HR = 1.219, 95% CI = [1.029, 1.443]) and significant (loss >10%, HR = 1.280, 95% CI = [1.095, 1.497]) weight loss groups were both associated with poorer OS. CONCLUSIONS The prognostic performance of peridiagnosis RWC is superior to other weight-related indicators in patients with cancer. The findings underscore the importance of expanding the surveillance of body weight from at diagnosis to both past and future, and conducting it within clinically operational time frames, in order to identify and intervene with patients who are at risk of weight change-related premature deaths.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is a reference standard used to assess a patient's nutrition status, it is cumbersome to administer. The aim of the present study was to estimate the value of a simpler and easier-to-use modified PG-SGA (mPG-SGA) to evaluate the nutrition status and need for intervention in patients with malignant tumors present in at least two organs. METHODS A total of 591 patients (343 male and 248 female) were included from the INSCOC study. A Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the correlation between the mPG-SGA and nutrition-related factors, with the optimal cut-off defined by a receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). The consistency between the mPG-SGA and PG-SGA was compared in a concordance analysis. A survival analysis was used to determine the effects of nutritional intervention among different nutrition status groups. Univariable and multivariable Cox analyses were applied to evaluate the association of the mPG-SGA with the all-cause mortality. RESULTS The mPG-SGA showed a negative association with nutrition-related factors. Individuals with an mPG-SGA ≥ 5 (rounded from 4.5) were considered to need nutritional intervention. Among the malnourished patients (mPG-SGA ≥ 5), the overall survival (OS) of those who received nutrition intervention was significantly higher than that of patients who did not. However, the OS was not significantly different in the better-nourished patients (mPG-SGA < 5). CONCLUSION Our findings support that the mPG-SGA is a feasible tool that can be used to guide nutritional interventions and predict the survival of patients with malignant tumors affecting at least two organs.

Abstract
To improve the processing effect of computer random signals, the manuscript employs the intelligent signal recognition algorithm to design a combinatorial mathematical model for computer random signals, and studies the parameter estimation of conventional frequency hopping signal (FHS) based on optimizing kernel function (KF). First, the mathematical form and graphical representation of the ambiguity function of the conventional FHS are explored. Furthermore, a new KF is presented according to its fuzzy function (FF) and the parameters of conventional FHSs are estimated according to the time-frequency distribution corresponding to the KF. Then, simulation experiments are carried out in different types of interference noise environments. The proposed combinatorial mathematical model for computer random signals shows a practical impact, and can effectively improve the effect of random signal combination.

Abstract
This study aimed to characterize three-dimensional quantitative morphological changes of glenoid fossa in patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion treated with bimaxillary orthognathic surgery. Ninety-five eligible patients (50 male, 45 female; mean age 22.09 years) were enrolled retrospectively. Cone beam computed tomography obtained at 1 week preoperatively (T0), immediately after surgery (T1), and at ≥ 12 months postoperatively (T2) were registered based on cranial base using voxel-based registration in 3D Slicer. Glenoid fossa surface was divided spatially into four regions, and bone modelling in these regions was visualized with color maps. Our data revealed that the mean surface variations of glenoid fossa were small, with modest bone formation as a whole. No significant associations between anteroposterior or vertical mandibular displacement and overall glenoid fossa remodeling were found (P > 0.05). Moreover, bone deposition was frequently observed in the anterior-lateral region of glenoid fossa in patients with a larger mandibular movement during T0-T1 (P < 0.001). Paired bone formation in the anterior-lateral region of glenoid fossa and bone resorption in the anterior-lateral region of condylar head was frequently observed. Collectively, our results revealed that glenoid fossa underwent complex but modest bone remodeling after bimaxillary surgery in skeletal Class III patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prior animal and epidemiological studies suggest that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure may be associated with reduced birth weight. However, results from prior studies evaluated a relatively small set of PFAS. OBJECTIVES Determine associations of gestational PFAS concentrations in maternal serum samples banked for 60 years with birth outcomes. METHODS We used data from 97 pregnant women from Boston and Providence that enrolled in the Collaborative Perinatal Project (CPP) study (1960-1966). We quantified concentrations of 27 PFAS in maternal serum in pregnancy and measured infant weight, height and ponderal index at birth. Covariate-adjusted associations between 11 PFAS concentrations (>75% detection limits) and birth outcomes were estimated using linear regression methods. RESULTS Median concentrations of PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS, and PFOS were 6.189, 0.330, 14.432, and 38.170 ng/mL, respectively. We found that elevated PFAS concentrations during pregnancy were significantly associated with lower birth weight and ponderal index at birth, but no significant associations were found with birth length. Specifically, infants born to women with PFAS concentrations ≥ median levels had significantly lower birth weight (PFOS: β = -0.323, P = 0.006; PFHxS: β = -0.292, P = 0.015; PFOA: β = -0.233, P = 0.03; PFHpS: β = -0.239, P = 0.023; PFNA: β = -0.239, P = 0.017). Similarly, women with PFAS concentrations ≥ median levels had significantly lower ponderal index (PFHxS: β = -0.168, P = 0.020; PFHxA: β = -0.148, P = 0.018). CONCLUSIONS Using data from this US-based cohort study, we found that 1) maternal PFAS levels from the 1960s exceeded values in contemporaneous populations and 2) that gestational concentrations of certain PFAS were associated with lower birth weight and infant ponderal index. Additional studies with larger sample size are needed to further examine the associations of gestational exposure to individual PFAS and their mixtures with adverse birth outcomes.

Abstract
To explore the allergen sensitization status of patients with respiratory allergic diseases in Shanxi Province, and to provide a basis for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases. It is a cross-sectional study, a total of 1 680 patients with allergic rhinitis and/or asthma diagnosed at the Department of Allergic Reaction of Shanxi Bethune Hospital from July 2021 to June 2023 who underwent allergen sIgE testing and/or skin prick test were retrospectively enrolled.There were 772 males and 908 females.The age range was 3 to 88 years. The median age was 35 years.There were 108 cases in the child group (≤12 years old), 102 cases in the adolescent group (13-17 years old), 819 cases in the youth group (18-40 years old), 498 cases in the middle-aged group (41-65 years old), and 153 cases in the elderly group (>65 years old). There were 333 cases in the allergic rhinitis group, 827 cases in the allergic asthma group, and 520 cases in the allergic rhinitis with asthma group. There were 1 254 urban patients and 426 rural patients.There were 253 cases in the northern Shanxi region, 1 195 cases in the central Shanxi region, and 232 cases in the southern Shanxi region. Statistical analyses were performed using the χ 2 test or Fisher's exact probability method to compare the differences in allergen sIgE positivity rates by sex, age, disease, living environment, and geography. The results showed that 1 027 patients (61.1%) were positive for at least one allergen sIgE, with Artemisia having the highest rate of positivity (603/1 680, 35.9%), followed by ragweed (302/1 680, 18.0%) and dust mite combinations (245/1 680, 14.6%). The number of individuals with single-allergen sIgE positivity was 357 (357/1 027, 34.8%), with the highest number of single-allergen sIgE positive results associated with Artemisia (114/357, 31.9%). The number of multiple-allergen sIgE positive results was 670 cases (670/1 027, 65.2%), with the highest number of patients having 2 allergen sIgE positive results (243/670, 36.3%). The overall positivity rate for allergen sIgE was significantly higher among males than among females (65.7% vs. 57.3%, χ2=12.405, P<0.001). Overall positivity for inhalant allergen sIgE was higher in the child and adolescent groups (88.0% vs. 88.2% vs. 59.8% vs. 40.2% vs. 19.0%, χ2=223.372, P<0.001), and food allergen sIgE positivity was highest in the child group (54.6% vs. 36.3% vs. 26.0% vs. 18.9% vs. 21.6%,χ2=66.383,P<0.001). The sIgE positivity rate of inhalant allergens was significantly higher in the allergic rhinitis group and the allergic rhinitis with asthma group than in the allergic asthma group, except for cockroaches and molds (P<0.05). The overall positive rate of allergen sIgE was significantly higher among urban patients than among rural patients (66.2% vs. 46.2%, χ2=53.230, P<0.001). The difference in the overall positive rate of allergen sIgE among patients from different regions was not statistically significant (56.1% vs. 62.0% vs. 62.1%, χ2=3.140, P=0.208). The sIgE positivity of dust mite combinations was significantly higher in the central Shanxi region and the southern Shanxi region than in the northern Shanxi region (15.5% vs. 18.1% vs. 7.1%,χ2=14.411, P=0.001). In conclusion, artemisia was the most important sensitizer for respiratory allergic diseases in Shanxi Province. The types of allergens and positivity rates were different for different sexes, ages, diseases, living environments, and regions. Therefore, patients with allergic diseases should be tested for allergens to help with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Colon cancer remains one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide. Unfortunately, there are no recognized and effective therapeutic strategies to prevent tumor recurrence after radical resection and chemotherapy, and the disease-free survival (DFS) in patients with stage IIIB or IIIC disease remains unsatisfactory. Xian-Lian-Jie-Du optimization decoction (XLJDOD) is a Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) empirical prescription, which has been validated experimentally and clinically that could inhibit the progression of colorectal cancer and ameliorate the symptoms. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of XLJDOD in prevention of recurrence of colon cancer. METHODS This study is a multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial conducted at 13 hospitals of China. Following the completion of surgery and adjuvant 5- fluorouracil-based chemotherapy, a total of 730 subjects with stage IIIB or IIIC colon cancer will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to an intervention group (n = 365; XLJDOD compound granule) and a control group (n = 365; Placebo). Patients will receive 6-month treatments and be followed up with 3 monthly assessments for 2 years. The primary outcome is 2-year DFS rate and the secondary outcomes are 1, 2-year relapse rate (RR), overall survival (OS) and quality of life (QoL). Safety outcomes such as adverse events will be also assessed. A small number of subgroup analysis will be carried out to explore the heterogeneity of effects of XLJDOD. DISCUSSION The outcomes from this randomized controlled trial will provide objective evidences to evaluate XLJDOD's role as an adjuvant treatment in colon cancer. TRIAL REGISTRATION www. Abstract
Tea is consumed widely around the world owing to its refreshing taste and potential health benefits. However, drinking tea is considered a major route for dietary aluminum exposure in areas where tea consumption is relatively large. To assess the health risk associated with drinking tea, the contamination level of aluminum was determined in 81 tea samples. The transfer rate of aluminum during tea brewing was investigated. Then based on the site-specific exposure parameters such as consumption data and body weight for six different subpopulations in Fujian, the exposure risks were estimated using a probabilistic approach. Results demonstrate that the contents of aluminum in green tea, white tea, oolong tea, and black tea were significantly different according to the one-way ANOVA analysis (p < 0.05). The transfer rate of aluminum were 32.6%, 31.6%, 26.3%, and 14% for white tea, black tea, oolong tea, and green tea, respectively. With respect to the oral reference dose, the exposure of inhabitants in Fujian to aluminum through drinking tea is under control (even at the 99th percentile).

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS The present study aimed to compare the ability of the GLIM criteria, PG-SGA and mPG-SGA to diagnose malnutrition and predict survival among Chinese lung cancer (LC) patients. METHODS This was a secondary analysis of a multicenter, prospective, nationwide cohort study, 6697 LC inpatients were enrolled between July 2013 and June 2020. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), area under the curve (AUC), and quadratic weighted Kappa coefficients were calculated to compare the ability to diagnose malnutrition. There were 754 patients who underwent follow-up for a median duration of 4.5 years. The associations between the nutritional status and survival were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method and multivariable Cox proportional hazard regression models. RESULTS The median age of LC patients was 60 (53, 66), and 4456 (66.5%) were male. There were 617 (9.2%), 752 (11.2%), 1866 (27.9%), and 3462 (51.7%) patients with clinical stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and Ⅳ LC, respectively. Malnutrition was present in 36.1%-54.2% (as evaluated using different tools). Compared with the PG-SGA (used as the diagnostic reference), the sensitivity of the mPG-SGA and GLIM was 93.7% and 48.3%; the specificity was 99.8% and 78.4%; and the AUC was 0.989 and 0.633 (P < 0.001). The weighted Kappa coefficients were 0.41 for the PG-SGA vs. GLIM, 0.44 for the mPG-SGA vs. GLIM, and 0.94 for the mPG-SGA vs PG-SGA in patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ LC. These values were respectively 0.38, 0.39, and 0.93 in patients with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ of LC. In a multivariable Cox analysis, the mPG-SGA (HR = 1.661, 95%CI = 1.348-2.046, P < 0.001), PG-SGA (HR = 1.701, 95%CI = 1.379-2.097, P < 0.001) and GLIM (HR = 1.657, 95%CI = 1.347-2.038, P < 0.001) showed similar death hazard ratios. CONCLUSIONS The mPG-SGA provides nearly equivalent power to predict the survival of LC patients as the PG-SGA and the GLIM, indicating that all three tools are applicable for LC patients. The mPG-SGA has the potential to be an alternative replacement for quick nutritional assessment among LC patients.

Abstract
Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite (OIHP) polycrystalline thin films are attractive due to their outstanding photoelectronic properties. The anti-solvent spin coating method is the most widely used to synthesize these thin films, and the residual strain is inevitably originates and evolves during the process. However, this residual strain evolution induced by crystallization kinetics is still poorly understood. In this work, the in situ and ex situ synchrotron grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering (GIWAXS) are utilized to characterize the evolution and distribution of the residual strain in the OIHP polycrystalline thin film during the anti-solvent spin coating process. A mechanical model is established and the mechanism of the crystallization kinetics-induced residual strain evolution process is discussed. This work reveals a comprehensive understanding of the residual strain evolution during the anti-solvent spin coating process in the OIHP polycrystalline thin films and provides important guidelines for the residual strain-related strain engineering, morphology control, and performance enhancement.

Abstract
5-Fluorouracil (5-Fu) is a first-line drug for colorectal cancer (CRC) therapy. However, the development of 5-Fu resistance limits its chemotherapeutic effectiveness and often leads to poor prognoses of CRC. Transglutaminase 2 (TGM2), a member of the transglutaminase family, is considered to be associated with chemoresistance through apoptotic prevention in various cancers including CRC. TGM2 was found to be overexpressed in two 5-Fu-resistant CRC cell lines and down-regulated by increased thiol oxidative stress induced by inhibition of glutathione reductase (GR). The present study aimed to explore the role of TGM2 in 5-Fu-resistant CRC and the mechanism of action by which the elevated thiol oxidative stress down-regulates TGM2 protein level. The results revealed that 5-Fu-resistance induced by overexpression of TGM2 in CRC cells was reversed through up-regulation of thiol oxidative stress. Knockdown of TGM2 increased the chemosensitivity of CRC cells to 5-Fu. Thiol oxidative stress potentially enhanced the therapeutic effect of 5-Fu in the resistant CRC cells by promotion of 5-Fu-induced apoptosis through down-regulation of TGM2. The elevated thiol oxidative stress increased the S-glutathionylation of TGM2 and led to proteasomal degradation of TGM2. Furthermore, Cys193 was identified as the S-glutathionylation site in TGM2, and its mutation resulted in thiol oxidative stress-mediated CRC cell apoptotic resistance. TGM2-induced EMT was also suppressed by the elevated thiol oxidative stress. A xenograft tumor model confirmed the effect of thiol oxidative stress in the reversal of 5-Fu resistance in CRC cells in vivo. TGM2 protein expression level was found to be significantly higher in human CRC specimens than in non-cancerous colorectal tissues. Taken together, the present data suggest an important role of TGM2 in 5-Fu resistance in CRC cells. Up-regulation of thiol oxidative stress could be a potential therapeutic approach for treating 5-Fu-resistant CRC and TGM2 may serve as a potential therapeutic target of thiol oxidative stress.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The fat mass and nutritional status play important roles in the onset and progression of cancer cachexia. The present study evaluated the joint prognostic value of the fat mass, as indicated by the triceps skinfold thickness (TSF), and the serum albumin level, for mortality in patients with cancer cachexia. METHODS We performed a multicentre cohort study including 5134 patients with cancer cachexia from January 2013 to April 2019. The sum of the TSF (mm) and serum albumin (g/L) was defined as the triceps skinfold-albumin index (TA). Harrell's C index, a time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and the area under the curve (AUC) were used to evaluate the prognostic performance of the TA and other indices. Optimal stratification was used to identify the thresholds to define a low TA, and the association of the TA with all-cause mortality was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox proportional hazard regression models. RESULTS The study enrolled 2408 women and 2726 men with a median age of 58.6 years and a median follow-up of 44 months. A total of 607 women (TA < 49.9) and 817 men (TA < 45.6) were classified as having a low TA. The TA showed better discrimination performance (C index = 0.621, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.607-0.636) to predict mortality in patients with cancer cachexia than the handgrip strength, the nutritional risk index, the prognostic nutritional index, the controlling nutritional status index, the systemic immune-inflammation index, the modified Glasgow prognostic score, and the TSF or albumin alone in the study population (all P < 0.05). The 1-, 3- and 5-year time-dependent ROC analyses (AUC = 0.647, 0.625 and 0.630, respectively) showed that the TA had the highest prognostic value among all indices investigated (all P < 0.05). Univariate analysis showed that a lower TA was associated with an increased death hazard (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.859, 95% CI = 1.677-2.062), regardless of the sex and cancer type. Multivariable survival analysis showed that a lower TA was independently associated with an increased death hazard (HR = 1.381, 95% CI = 1.223-1.560). This association was significantly strengthened in patients who did not receive curative chemotherapy (HR = 1.491, 95% CI = 1.298-1.713), those who had higher serum total protein levels (HR = 1.469, 95% CI = 1.284-1.681) and those with better physical performance (HR = 1.453, 95% CI = 1.271-1.662). CONCLUSIONS This study defined and evaluated a new prognostic index, the TA, which may improve the selection of intervention strategies to optimize the survival of patients with cancer cachexia.

Abstract
Polymer-based graphene composite products with high mechanical properties, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity are obtained by different molding technologies. Although these processes conveniently realize the molding of polymer composites, it is often difficult to control the product quality because of the fluctuation of the temperature and pressure threshold. At the same time, a high temperature or external load will carbonize polymer composites or cause excessive porosity to influence the compacted density and electrical conductivity. In this review, additive manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion molding, hot pressing, spark plasma sintering, electromagnetic-assisted molding and other processing methods were introduced. Meanwhile, the powder molding mechanism and material constitutive model were introduced, providing appropriate molding methods and theoretical guidance based on the performance of raw materials and the performance requirements of products.

Abstract
Background An increasing number of studies have found that the gut microbiota was related to the occurrence and development of lung cancer. Nonetheless, publication trends and research hotspots in this field remain unknown. The study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically identify publication trends and research hotspots in the field of gut microbiota and lung cancer research within a 12-year panorama. Methods Publications related to the gut microbiota and lung cancer between 1 January 2011 and 25 October 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. The online analytic tool of the WoSCC was used to analyze various bibliometric parameters. The bibliometrics website, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer were used to identify research trends and hotspots. Results A total of 375 publications related to the gut microbiota and lung cancer were extracted from WoSCC and identified for analysis. The number of annual publications has grown rapidly since 2018 and reached a peak in 2022. China was the most prolific country in this field, with 120 publications, followed by the United States (114), with the highest H-index of 31. Additionally, France ranked the highest with an average of 133 citations, while the leading institution and journal were the Unicancer and the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, respectively. Interestingly, Routy Bertrand was the most prolific author and also the most cited author in terms of H-index and citations. Reference and keyword burst detection indicated that the research hotspots mainly included 1) the gut microbiota directly affects the efficacy of immunotherapy for lung cancer, 2) the application of different gut bacteria on lung cancer, and 3) the mechanism of the gut microbiota on lung cancer. Conclusion The findings of this study revealed the general publication trends and evolving research hotspots in the field of gut microbiota and lung cancer at a global level. The research hotspots focused on the clinical application of the gut microbiota combined with immunotherapy in lung cancer and its mechanism. The findings of this study provide new perspectives on the field, which may shed light on a beneficial impact on further etiological studies, diagnosis, and treatment for lung cancer.

Abstract
Background Frailty and systemic inflammation are parameters, which are easy to evaluate, can be used to predict disease outcomes, and are potentially modifiable. The combination of frailty and inflammation-based data may help identify elderly cancer patients predisposed to adverse clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to examine the association of systemic inflammation and frailty at admission, and to determine whether these risk factors interact and may predict the survival of elderly cancer patients. Methods A prospective Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) with 5,106 elderly cancer patients admitted from 2013 through 2020 was included in this study. The primary marker of inflammation was the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), with the reference group having NLR<3, which indicated no inflammation. Frailty was assessed using the FRAIL scale, and patients with≥3 positives out of a total of five components were assumed to be frail. The primary outcome was all-cause mortality. We classified participants according to the presence (or absence) of frailty and high inflammation and assessed their association with overall survival using the Cox proportional hazards models adjusted for demographic, tumor, and treatment factors. Results Among the 5,106 patients enrolled in the study, 3396 individuals (66.51%) were male and the mean( ± SD) age at diagnosis was 70.92( ± 5.34). Over a median of 33.5 months follow-up, we observed 2,315 deaths. Increasing NLR was associated with frailty (compared with NLR<3, odds ratio=1.23, 95%CI=1.08-1.41 for NLR≥3). An NLR≥3 and frailty independently predicted the overall survival [hazard ratio(HR)=1.35, 95%CI=1.24-1.47 and HR=1.38, 95%CI=1.25-1.52, respectively). Patients with both frailty and NLR≥3 had the lowest overall survival(HR=1.83, 95%CI=1.59-2.04) than patients with no risk factors. The mortality rate increased with the presence of the frailty components. Conclusions Systemic inflammation was positively associated with frailty. Frail elderly cancer patients with elevated systemic inflammation had low survival rate.

Abstract
Dietary fat intake is positively associated with elevated risk of colorectal cancer (CRC). Currently, clinical treatments remian inadequate bacause of the complex pathogenesis of CRC induced by a high-fat diet (HFD). Mechanistically, imbalances in gut microbiota are associated with HFD-associated colorectal tumourigenesis. Therefore, we investigated the anti-tumor activity of berberine (BBR) in modulating the dysregulated gut microbiota and related metabolites by preforming 16S rDNA sequencing and liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. As expected, BBR treatment significantly decreased the number of colonic polyps, ameliorated gut barrier disruption, and inhibited colon inflammation and related oncogenic pathways in AOM/DSS-induced CRC model mice fed with an HFD. Furthermore, BBR alleviated gut microbiota dysbiosis and increased the abundance of beneficial gut microorganisms, including Akkermansia and Parabacteroides, in HFD-fed CRC mice. In addition, metabolomics analysis demonstrated significantly altered the glycerophospholipid metabolism during the progression of HFD-associated CRC in mice, whereas BBR treatment reverted these changes in glycerophospholipid metabolites, particularly lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), which was confirmed to promote CRC cell proliferation and ameliorate cell junction impairment. Notably, BBR had no clear anti-tumor effects on HFD-fed CRC model mice with gut microbiota depletion, whereas transplantation of BBR-treated gut microbiota to gut microbiota-depleted CRC mice recapitulated the inhibitory effects of BBR on colorectal tumourigenesis and LPC levels. This study demonstrated that BBR inhibited HFD-associated CRC directly through modulating gut microbiota-regulated LPC levels, thereby providing a promising microbiota-modulating therapeutic strategy for the clinical prevention and treatment of Western diet-associated CRC.

Abstract
Objective: This study sought to investigate the impact of different obesity patterns on coronary microvascular function in male patients with non-obstructive coronary artery disease. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of male patients diagnosed with suspected coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) in the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between December 2015 and August 2021. All patients underwent the one-day rest and stress 13N-ammonia positron emission tomography myocardial perfusion imaging. Overall obesity was defined by body mass index (BMI) ≥28 kg/m2 and abdominal obesity was defined by waist circumference ≥90 cm. Hyperemic myocardial blood flow (MBF)<2.3 ml·min-1·g-1 or coronary flow reserve (CFR)<2.5 were referred as CMD. All patients were grouped based on their BMI and waist circumference. MBF, CFR, the incidence of CMD, hemodynamic parameters, and cardiac function were compared among the groups. Results: A total of 136 patients were included. According to BMI and waist circumference, patients were categorized into 3 groups: control group (n=45), simple abdominal obesity group (n=53) and compound obesity group (n=38). Resting MBF did not differ between groups (F=0.02,P=0.994). Compared with the control group, hyperemic MBF was significantly lower in the simple abdominal obesity and compound obesity groups ((2.82±0.64) ml·min-1·g-1, (2.44±0.85) ml·min-1·g-1 and (2.49±0.71) ml·min-1·g-1, both P<0.05, respectively). Hyperemic MBF was comparable among the groups of patients with obesity (P=0.772). CFR was significantly lower in the simle abdominal obesity group compared with the control group (2.87±0.99 vs. 3.32±0.62,P=0.012). Compared with the control group, CFR tended to be lower in the compound obesity group (3.02±0.91 vs. 3.32±0.62,P=0.117). The incidence of CMD was significantly higher in both the simple abdominal obesity and compound obesity groups than in the control group (62.3%, 52.6% vs. 22.2%, both P<0.01, respectively). Waist circumference was an independent risk factor for male CMD (OR=1.057, 95%CI: 1.013-1.103, P=0.011). Conclusions: In male patients with non-obstructive coronary artery disease, abdominal obesity is associated with decreased coronary microvascular function. Male patients with simple abdominal obesity face the highest risk of CMD.

Abstract
The interactions between electrons and antiferromagnetic magnons (AFMMs) are important for a large class of correlated materials. For example, they are the most plausible pairing glues in high-temperature superconductors, such as cuprates and iron-based superconductors. However, unlike electron-phonon interactions (EPIs), clear-cut observations regarding how electron-AFMM interactions (EAIs) affect the band structure are still lacking. Consequently, critical information on the EAIs, such as its strength and doping dependence, remains elusive. Here we directly observe that EAIs induce a kink structure in the band dispersion of Ba1-xKxMn2As2, and subsequently unveil several key characteristics of EAIs. We found that the coupling constant of EAIs can be as large as 5.4, and it shows strong doping dependence and temperature dependence, all in stark contrast to the behaviors of EPIs. The colossal renormalization of electron bands by EAIs enhances the density of states at Fermi energy, which is likely driving the emergent ferromagnetic state in Ba1-xKxMn2As2 through a Stoner-like mechanism with mixed itinerant-local character. Our results expand the current knowledge of EAIs, which may facilitate the further understanding of many correlated materials where EAIs play a critical role.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Diagnosing cancer cachexia relies extensively on the patient-reported historic weight, and failure to accurately recall this information can lead to severe underestimation of cancer cachexia. OBJECTIVES The present study aimed to develop inexpensive tools to facilitate the identification of cancer cachexia in patients without weight loss information. METHODS This multicenter cohort study included 12774 patients with cancer. Cachexia was retrospectively diagnosed using Fearon's framework. Baseline clinical features, excluding weight loss, were modeled to mimic a situation where the patient is unable to recall their weight history. Multiple machine learning (ML) models were trained using 75% of the study cohort to predict cancer cachexia, with the remaining 25% of the cohort used to assess model performance. RESULTS The study enrolled 6730 males and 6044 females (median age = 57.5 years). Cachexia was diagnosed in 5261 (41.2%) patients and most diagnoses were made based on the weight loss criterion. A 15-variable logistic regression (LR) model mainly comprising cancer types, gastrointestinal symptoms, tumor stage and serum biochemistry indices was selected among the various ML models. The LR model showed good performance for predicting cachexia in the validation data (area under the curve = 0.763, 95% confidence interval=[0.747, 0.780]). The calibration curve of the model demonstrated good agreement between predictions and actual observations (accuracy = 0.714, Kappa = 0.396, sensitivity = 0.580, specificity = 0.808, positive predictive value = 0.679, negative predictive value = 0.733). Subgroup analyses showed that the model was feasible in patients with different cancer types. The model was deployed as an online calculator and a nomogram, and was exported as predictive model markup language to permit flexible, individualized risk calculation. CONCLUSIONS We developed a ML model that can facilitate the identification of cancer cachexia in patients without weight loss information, which might improve decision-making and lead to the development of novel management strategies in cancer care.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between clinicopathological features and Miller/Payne (MP) grading system of breast carcinoma after neoadjuvant treatment and to establish novel prediction models. Methods: A total of 1 053 cases of invasive breast carcinoma NOS that undertaken neoadjuvant treatment according to Guidelines of CSCO for Breast Cancer were selected at the Key Laboratory of Carcinogenesis and Translational Research, Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute from September 2016 to September 2019, and the clinical, pathologic data, MP grading and immunohistochemical staining were evaluated. Statistical analysis was conducted using R software. Several novel computer models on prediction of MP grading were established and validated. Results: Among 1 053 patients who accepted neoadjuvant treatment, 316 patients (316/1 053, 30%) were evaluated as MP5 postoperatively, and 737 patients (737/1 053, 70%) did not meet MP5 level. MP5 had significant association with histological grade, ER and PR expression, HER2 status, Ki-67 index and molecular classification (P<0.05). Univariate/multivariate logistic regression analyses further showed that the above clinicopathological features were also independent influencing factors of MP5 grade; five-fold cross-validation was used to evaluate the performance of the models, and the sensitivity and specificity of different models were obtained. Conclusions: MP grading of invasive breast carcinoma NOS after neoadjuvant treatment is associated with high histological grade, negative ER and PR expression, HER2 positivity, high Ki-67 index and molecular classification, which are independent influence factors. GBM model recommended through comparison can provide some help for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To study the effects of exosome secreted by ovarian cancer (OC) cell on the differentiation and metastasis of normal fibroblasts (NFs). Methods: NFs were collected from patients who underwent hysteromyoma resection in the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from May to December 2019. Exosome was extracted from the culture supernatant of SKOV3 cells by using ultra-high-speed centrifugation. The NFs were co-cultured with condition medium (CM), exosome of SKOV3 (SKOV3-exo) and control medium. The expression levels of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) were detected by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blot. The metastatic ability of NFs was detected by Transwell array. Results: Under the transmission electron microscope, the extracellular vesicles extracted from the culture supernatant of SKOV3 were 30-100 nm in diameter with cup holder-like bilayer membrane structure, and the protein expression levels of TSG101 and HSP27 in exosomes (1.00±0.05 and 1.12±0.13) were higher than those of ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells (0.22±0.21 and 0.36±0.14, respectively, P<0.05). PKH67 fluorescently labeled exosomes could be taken up by NFs. The expression levels of α-SMA and FAP mRNA in CM group(2.91±0.15 and 3.21±0.33)and SKOV3-exo group (3.50±0.21 and 4.63±0.24, respectively) were higher than that in blank group (1.00±0.06 and 1.00±0.13, P<0.05). The protein expression levels of α-SMA and FAP in CM group and SKOV3-exo group (0.89±0.11 and 1.25±0.09, 0.81±0.09 and 1.20±0.12) were higher than those in the blank group (0.12±0.31 and 0.11±0.19, respectively, P<0.05). The migrated numbers of cells in the CM group and SKOV3-exo group [(215.01±14.80) and (389.72±19.43), respectively] were higher than that in the blank group [(113.73±4.70), P<0.05]. Conclusion: The exosome secreted by SKOV3 cells can be taken up by NFs, which makes it to differentiate into cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and significantly enhances its metastatic ability, indicating that OC cells may promote the transformation of normal ovarian mesenchymal fibroblasts to CAFs through exosome pathways, and then promote the development of ovarian cancer.

Abstract
The protein encoded by CD3D is part of the T-cell receptor/CD3 complex (TCR/CD3 complex) and is involved in T-cell development and signal transduction. Previous studies have shown that CD3D is associated with prognosis and treatment response in breast, colorectal, and liver cancer. However, the expression and clinical significance of CD3D in gastric cancer are not clear. In this study, we collected 488 gastric cancer tissues and 430 paired adjacent tissues to perform tissue microarrays (TMAs). Then, immunohistochemical staining of CD3D, CD3, CD4, CD8 and PD-L1 was conducted to investigate the expression of CD3D in gastric cancer and the correlation between the expression of CD3D and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and PD-L1. The results showed that CD3D was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues compared with paracancerous tissues (P<0.000). Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that CD3D was an independent good prognostic factor for gastric cancer (P=0.004, HR=0.677, 95%CI: 0.510-0.898 for univariate analyses; P=0.046, HR=0.687, 95%CI: 0.474-0.994 for multivariate analyses). In addition, CD3D was negatively correlated with the tumor location, Borrmann type and distant metastasis (P=0.012 for tumor location; P=0.007 for Borrmann type; P=0.027 for distant metastasis). In addition, the expression of CD3D was highly positively correlated with the expression of CD3, CD4, CD8, and PD-L1, and the combination of CD3D with CD3, CD4, CD8 and PD-L1 predicted the best prognosis (P=0.043). In summary, CD3D may play an important regulatory role in the tumor immune microenvironment of gastric cancer and may serve as a potential indicator of prognosis and immunotherapy response.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The role of Berberine (BBR) in colorectal cancer (CRC) and gut microbiota has begun to appreciate. However, there was no direct evidence confirm that the gut microbiota regulated by BBR could inhibit CRC. This report investigated the effect of stool from BBR treated subjects and its effect on CRC. METHODS A mouse model for CRC was developed using azoxymethane (AOM) and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). Intestinal tissue from affected mice were used to determine the efficacy of BBR against CRC. Stool samples were collected for the 16s rRNA gene sequencing and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). Finally, the mechanism of gut microbiota from BBR treated mice on CRC was explored using immunohistochemistry, RNA-Sequencing, quantitative RT-PCR, and western blot analyses. RESULTS BBR significantly reduced intestinal tumor development. The richness of gut microbiota were notably decreased by BBR. Specifically, the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria (Roseburia, Eubacterium, Ruminococcaceae, and Firmicutes_unclassified) was increased while the level of bacteria (Odoribacter, Muribaculum, Mucispirillum, and Parasutterella) was decreased by BBR treatment. FMT experiment determined that the mice fed with stool from BBR treated AOM/DSS mice demonstrated a relatively lower abundance of macroscopic polyps and a significantly lower expression of β-catenin, and PCNA in intestinal tissue than mice fed with stool from AOM/DSS mice. Mechanistically, intestinal tissue obtained from mice fed with stool from BBR treated AOM/DSS mice demonstrated a decreased expression of inflammatory cytokines including interleukin 1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), C-C motif chemokine 1 (Ccl1), Ccl6, and C-X-C motif ligand (Cxcl9). In addition, the NF-κB expression was greatly suppressed in mice fed with stool from BBR treated AOM/DSS mice. Real-time PCR arrays revealed a down-regulation of genes involved in cell proliferation, angiogenesis, invasiveness, and metastasis in mice fed with stool from BBR treated AOM/DSS mice. CONCLUSIONS Stool obtained from BBR treated AOM/DSS mice was able to increase colon length while simultaneously decreasing the density of macroscopic polyps, cell proliferation, inflammatory modulators and the expression of NF-κB. Therefore, it was concluded that suppression of pro-inflammatory genes and carcinogens factors by modulating gut microbiota was an important pathway for BBR to inhibit tumor growth in conventional mice.

Abstract
Background and Aims Malnutrition is highly prevalent and is related to multiple impaired clinical outcomes in cancer patients. This study aimed to de novo create an objective, nutrition-related index specially for prognostic purposes in oncology populations. Methods We performed a multicenter cohort study including 14,134 cancer patients. The prognostic impact for each baseline characteristic was estimated by calculating Harrell's C-index. The optimal parameters reflecting the nutritional and inflammatory impact on patients' overall survival were selected to develop the fat-age-inflammation (FAIN) index. The associations of the FAIN with the nutritional status, physical performance, quality of life, short-term outcomes and mortality of patients were comprehensively evaluated. Independent external validation was performed to further assess the prognostic value of the FAIN. Results The study enrolled 7,468 men and 6,666 women with a median age of 57 years and a median follow-up of 42 months. The FAIN index was defined as: (triceps skinfold thickness + albumin) / [age + 5 × (neutrophil count/lymphocyte count)]. There were significant associations of the FAIN with the nutritional status, physical performance, quality of life and short-term outcomes. The FAIN also showed better discrimination performance than the Nutritional Risk Index, the Prognostic Nutritional Index and the Controlling Nutritional Status index (all P < 0.05). In multivariable-adjusted models, the FAIN was independently associated with a reduced death hazard both as a continuous variable (HR = 0.57, 95%CI = 0.47–0.68) and per one standard deviation (HR = 0.83, 95%CI = 0.78–0.88). External validation in a multicenter lung cancer cohort (n = 227) further confirmed the prognostic value of the FAIN. Conclusions This study created and assessed the prognostic FAIN index, which might act as a feasible option to monitor the nutritional status and help develop intervention strategies to optimize the survival outcomes of cancer patients.

Abstract
The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)–Chaihu Shugan Formula (CSF), consisting of several Chinese botanical drugs like Bupleurum, is derived from the ancient Chinese pharmacopeia. It has been used for more than thousands of years in various suboptimal health statuses and diseases induced by chronic stress based on empirical therapy. Recent studies confirm the role of CSF in the development of many diseases, including depression, stress-induced hepatic injury and tumors. However, little has been known about the mechanisms behind the health effects of CSF. Here, we investigate the influence of CSF on the modulation of the simulated colonic microbiota of five healthy donors, gut barrier integrity, and intestinal immunity by combining the simulator of the human intestinal microbial ecosystem (SHIME®) technology platform with co-culture of intestinal and immune cells. This approach revealed that CSF stimulated the production of SCFA (acetate, propionate and butyrate) across donors while significantly lowering the production of branched SCFA (bSCFA). In terms of community composition, CSF stimulated a broad spectrum of health-related Bifidobacterium species, which are potent acetate and lactate producers. At the same time, it lowered the abundance of opportunistic pathogenic Escherichia coli. Later, we explore the effect of colonic fermentation of CSF on the gut barrier and intestinal immunity in the Caco-2/THP1-blue™ cell co-culture model. Based on the study using SHIME technology platform, CSF showed protective effects on inflammation-induced intestinal epithelial barrier disruption in all donors. Also, the treatment of CSF showed pronounced anti-inflammatory properties by strongly inducing anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-10 and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-α. These findings demonstrate a significant modulatory effect of CSF on intestinal gut microbiota. CSF-microbial fermentation products improved the gut barrier and controlled intestinal inflammation.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common type of cancer worldwide. Distant metastasis is the major cause of cancer-related mortality in patients with CRC. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a critical process triggered during tumor metastasis, which is also the main impetus and the essential access within this duration. Therefore, targeting EMT-related molecular pathways has been considered a novel strategy to explore effective therapeutic agents against metastatic CRC. Traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) with unique properties multi-target and multi-link that exert their therapeutic efficacies holistically, which could inhibit the invasion and metastasis ability of CRC cells via inhibiting the EMT process by down-regulating transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)/Smads, PI3K/Akt, NF-κB, Wnt/β-catenin, and Notch signaling pathways. The objective of this review is to summarize and assess the anti-metastatic effect of TCM-originated bioactive compounds and Chinese medicine formulas by mediating EMT-associated signaling pathways in CRC therapy, providing a foundation for further research on the exact mechanisms of action through which TCMs affect EMT transform in CRC.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically evaluate and integrate the real experience of burn patients during rehabilitation, and to provide theoretical guidance for the continual nursing care for burn patients. Methods: The systematic evaluation method was adopted. Databases including the China National Knowledge Internet, Wanfang Database, China Biology Medicine disc were retrieved with the search terms in Chinese version of "/, //, ////", and PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library were retrieved with the search terms of "burn/burns, rehabilitation/recovery/survivor/survive, experience/views/perceptions/, qualitative/phenomenon/interview/grounded theory". The qualitative studies on the real experience of burn patients during rehabilitation published from the establishment of each database to June 2020 were searched. The quality of the included studies was evaluated according to the quality evaluation criteria for qualitative research of the Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Health Care Center. The research country, research method, research object, research content, and main research result were summarized, and meta-synthesis of the research results was conducted with the aggregative integration method. Results: A total of 12 studies were included, and the quality of all the studies was grade B. The studies were conducted in 8 countries including Australia, Canada, Norway, etc., the research method mainly was phenomenological research method, and all the studies were focused on adult burn patients. A total of 46 specific themes were extracted with totally 10 new categories formed after summarization, and 3 integrated results were obtained as follows: burn patients suffered from both physical and psychological burdens, and their normal life was broken; burn patients gained post-traumatic growth and could actively adjust to cope with life difficulties; burn patients had multiple needs. Conclusions: Burn patients experience both physical and psychological pains during rehabilitation, so they long for multiple support from family and society. Medical staff, social groups, and family members should pay attention to the psychological experience and needs of burn patients with different characteristics during rehabilitation, and build a multi-directional social support system to help patients return to the society and rebuild their lives.

Abstract
Perchlorate is known as a thyroid disrupter. Its contamination in various tea samples was monitored, and 286 samples belonging to four types of tea leaves were analysed. The detection rate of perchlorate in tea was 99.3%. The mean concentration in different tea types decreased in order from green tea, oolong tea, white tea to black tea. A probabilistic approach was performed to evaluate the dietary exposure of perchlorate for six different subpopulations. The daily intakes (EDIs) for consumers over the age of 41 were higher than that of other subpopulations. The hazard quotient for six groups was lower than 1 even at the extreme percentile (P99). It indicates that the risk of dietary exposure to perchlorate from tea consumption for Fujian people is acceptable without considering other foodstuffs. However, the high occurrence of perchlorate in tea samples suggested that the actual source of this contaminant should be further investigated.

Abstract
Background Pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) family plays a vital role in the initial stage of innate immune response and the subsequent activation of adaptive immunity. Increasing evidences have indicated that several PRRs play critical roles in the progress of inflammation and tumorigenesis. However, the comprehensive significance of PRRs family in clinical prognosis of different cancers is still elusive. Methods We analyzed expression of 20 canonical PRRs in tumor samples from 9502 patients of 33 tumor types. Next, we used expression profiles of PRRs in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) to build a Cox prognosis model. Then, we analyzed immune infiltration features and immune activity of high risk score and low risk score patients. Finally, we analyzed the single-cell sequencing data of different cancers and detected the expression of PRRs in mouse melanoma model to identify PRRs-expressing cell types. Results We found PRRs had a significantly positive correlation with prognosis in SKCM rather than other tumors, and PRR-based Cox model had a much better prognosis potential than any single PRR. Further analysis shows risk score could indicate immunocyte infiltration and immune activity in SKCM. We also found the expressions of some PRR genes were highly correlated with the expression of immune checkpoints molecules in SKCM, indicating they could be indicators for clinical immune therapy. Finally, we found only in SKCM samples, the expression of PRRs is especially high in a subpopulation of macrophages with a trait of CD206 low expression, probably explaining why PRRs have prognosis potential in melanoma. Conclusions Our study reveals PRR family in macrophages has a positive prognosis potential in melanoma and could be valuable for clinical prognosis and immune therapy.

Abstract
Objective To assess the current status of caesarean delivery (CD) in China, propose reference CD rates for China overall, and by regions, investigate the main indications for CDs and identify possible areas for safe reduction. Design A multicentre cross‐sectional study. Setting A total of 94 hospitals across 23 provinces in China. Population A total of 73 977 randomly selected deliveries. Methods We used a modified Robson classification to characterise CDs in subgroups and by regions, and the World Health Organization (WHO) C‐Model to calculate reference CD rates. Main outcome measures CD rates in China. Results In 2015–2016, the overall CD rate in China was 38.9% (95% CI 38.6–39.3%). Considering the obstetric characteristics of the population, the multivariable model‐based reference CD rate was estimated at 28.5% (95% CI 28.3–28.8%). Accordingly, an absolute reduction of 10.4% (or 26.7% relative reduction) may be considered. The CD rate varied substantially by region. Previous CD was the most common indication in all regions, accounting for 38.2% of all CDs, followed by maternal request (9.8%), labour dystocia (8.3%), fetal distress (7.7%) and malpresentation (7.6%). Overall, 12.7% of women had prelabour CDs, contributing to 32.8% of the total CDs. Conclusions Nearly 39% of births were delivered by caesarean in China but a reduction of this rate by a quarter may be considered attainable. Repeat CD contributed more than one‐third of the total CDs. Abstract
Background: An increasing number of studies have shown that natural products have anti-tumor effects, and it has become a hotspot in cancer research. However, few bibliometric analyses have been examined in this field systematically. The current study aimed to explore the status and provide the developing trends in the natural products on cancer research. Methods: Publications on natural products in cancer research were extracted from the Web of Science core collection database. CiteSpace (5.6.R3) software and GraphPad prism 6 were used to analyze and plot the references. Results: On February 1, 2021, 34,611 records of natural products in cancer research published from 2008 to 2020 were collected. The United States was the driving force, with a strong academic reputation in this area. The top-contributing institution was the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Most publications were published in Molecules. Efferth Thomas was the most prolific author, while Newman DJ was the most cited and frequently co-cited author. Flavonoid, curcumin, and polyphenol were the most widely studied natural products. Oleanolic acid and rosmarinic acid have gradually become research hotspots recently. Breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer were the most common types of cancer in this field. “Natural killer cell” was the leading research hotspot. The keywords of “leaf extract,” “molecular docking” and “gold nanoparticle” appeared most recently as research frontiers. Conclusion: Our results provided a general overview of the major research directions of natural products research in cancer. The mechanisms of natural products, especially those related to molecular docking, gold nanoparticle, gut microbiota, and immune checkpoints may soon become hotspots and should be closely monitored.

Abstract
White tea has been of increasing public interest worldwide owing to its health benefits. Based on 2 years of surveillance, the long-term and cumulative chronic exposure risks of pesticide residues through white tea drinking were assessed for different subpopulations in Fujian, China. Twenty-five different pesticides were found, and 74.8% of samples contained at least one pesticide residue. The most frequently detected pesticide was bifenthrin with detection rates of 61.6%. Risk assessment was performed using both the deterministic approach and semiprobabilistic model under the best-case and the worst-case scenarios. The results demonstrated that the dietary risks were extremely low for six different subpopulations in which the risks for adults over the age of 41 were relatively higher. The risk ranking scheme indicated that isocarbophos and triazophos were considered to be of medium risk. The different use suggestions for the 25 positive pesticides are proposed to further minimize the exposure risk to consumer health. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Tea is the second most popular nonalcoholic beverage throughout the world. Pesticides are used to improve the yield of tea. Pesticide residues in tea could be one of the exposure pathways for consumers. Monitoring residual levels and assessing the health risk assessment in tea are thus in an urge.

Abstract
Under pathological conditions, the Janus kinase (JAK)/STAT signaling pathway can regulate the proliferation, differentiation and migration of tumor cells, including colorectal cancer (CRC). CRC is the third major types of cancer among males and the second among females worldwide. In China, CRC is the fifth common cancer among both males and females. Western blotting, flow cytometry, RNA interference, immunoprecipitation, xenografts models, and immunohistochemical staining were carried out to evaluate the possible mechanisms of acton of ruxolitinib. The present data suggested that ruxolitinib can suppress CRC cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis. Firstly, JAK1/2-STAT1 was identified as the target of ruxolitinib. Then, ruxolitinib downregulated myeloid cell leukemia-1 (Mcl-1) mRNA level and decreased its protein level, which enabled Bak to trigger CRC apoptosis. Furthermore, ruxolitinib exerted potent activity against CRC xenograft growth in vivo. High expression of phosphorylated STAT1 (S727) was also confirmed in 44 pairs of human colon carcinoma and adjacent normal tissues. Taken together, the results showed that ruxolitinib decreased JAK1/2-STAT1-Mcl-1 protein level and effectively suppressed CRC cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, ruxolitinib could be a promising anticancer agent for CRC treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Altered intestinal microbiota has been reported in pancreatic disorders, however, it remains unclear whether these changes alter the course of disease in patients with acute (AP) and chronic pancreatitis (CP), or whether these disease states alter the environment to enable pathogenic microbial composition changes to occur. We undertook a systematic review to characterize the gut microbiome in pancreatitis patients. METHODS MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched for studies on microbiota in pancreatitis published from January 1, 2000 to June 5, 2020. Animal studies, reviews, case reports, and non-English articles were excluded. A frequency analysis was performed for outcomes reported in ≥2 studies and studies were analyzed for risk of bias and quality of evidence. RESULTS 22 papers met inclusion criteria; 15 included AP, 7 included CP. No studies were appropriately designed to assess whether alterations in the gut microbiome exacerbate pancreatitis or develop as a result of pancreatitis. We did identify several patterns of microbiome changes that are associated with pancreatitis. The gut microbiome demonstrated decreased alpha diversity in 3/3 A P studies and 3/3 C P studies. Beta diversity analysis revealed differences in bacterial community composition in the gut microbiome in 2/2 A P studies and 3/3 C P studies. Functionally, gut microbiome changes were associated with infectious pathways in AP and CP. Several studies suffered from high risk of bias and inadequate quality. CONCLUSIONS Detecting differences in microbial composition associated with AP and CP may represent a diagnostic tool. Appropriately controlled longitudinal studies are needed to determine whether microbiome changes are causative or reactive in pancreatitis.

Abstract
Chemotherapy-induced neutropenia (CIN) is a potentially fatal and common complication in myelosuppressive chemotherapy. The timing and grade of CIN may play prognostic and predictive roles in cancer therapy. CIN is associated with older age, poor functional and nutritional status, the presence of significant comorbidities, the type of cancer, previous chemotherapy cycles, the stage of the disease, specific chemotherapy regimens, and combined therapies. There are many key points and new challenges in the management of CIN in adults including: (1) Genetic risk factors to evaluate the patient's risk for CIN remain unclear. However, these risk factors urgently need to be identified. (2) Febrile neutropenia (FN) remains one of the most common reasons for oncological emergency. No consensus nomogram for FN risk assessment has been established. (3) Different assessment tools [e.g., Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), the Clinical Index of Stable Febrile Neutropenia (CISNE) score model, and other tools] have been suggested to help stratify the risk of complications in patients with FN. However, current tools have limitations. The CISNE score model is useful to support decision-making, especially for patients with stable FN. (4) There are still some challenges, including the benefits of granulocyte colony stimulating factor treatment and the optimal antibiotic regimen in emergency management of FN. In view of the current reports, our group discusses the key points, new challenges, and management of CIN.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Peripheral neurotoxicity (PN) is a frequent side effect of oxaliplatin treatment, and also is its dose-limiting toxicity. Studies have confirmed that ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFAs) had a neuroprotective effect. However, the efficacy of ω-3 PUFAs on the prevention of oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity remains unclear. We assessed the effect of ω-3 PUFAs on the neurotoxicity in colon cancer patients treated by oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine. METHODS In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 179 patients with colon cancer receiving oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine were recruited, and randomly assigned to take ω-3 PUFAs, 640 mg t.i.d during chemotherapy and 1 month after the end of the treatment or placebo. All patients were treated with chemotherapy for 6 treatment cycles. The incidence and severity of PN were evaluated, and the nerve conduction was measured before the onset of chemotherapy and 1 month after treatment. In addition, the quality of life was also accessed using Chinese version of European organization for research and treatment of cancer quality of life questionnaire. RESULTS The incidence of PN in the ω-3 PUFAs group and placebo group was 52.22% and 69.66%, respectively (P = .017). In addition, there was a significant difference in the severity of PN between the 2 groups (P = .017). In terms of motor and sensory nerve conduction, the sensory action potentials amplitude of sural nerve in the ω-3 PUFAs group and placebo group after chemotherapy treatment were (15.01 ± 3.14) and (13.00 ± 3.63) μ V respectively, suggesting there was a significant difference in the 2 groups (P = .000). In addition, the mean score of the global health-status/quality of life was obviously higher in the ω-3 PUFAs group than that in the placebo group. CONCLUSION ω-3 PUFAs seem to reduce the incidence and severity of oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity, and improve the quality of patients' life, indicating it is expected to be a potential drug for the treatment of oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Primary analysis of the phase III trial BG01-1323L demonstrated that utidelone plus capecitabine significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall response rate (ORR) versus capecitabine alone in heavily-pretreated patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Here, we report the final overall survival (OS) analysis and updates of other endpoints. PATIENTS AND METHODS In total, 405 patients were randomised 2:1 to receive utidelone (30 mg/m2 IV daily, days 1-5, over 90 min) plus capecitabine (1000 mg/m2 orally b.i.d., days 1-14) or capecitabine alone (1250 mg/m2 orally b.i.d., days 1-14) every 21 days. The secondary endpoint, OS, was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier product-limit approach at a two-sided alpha level of 0.05 after the prespecified 310 death events had been reached. Exploratory analyses of the primary endpoint, PFS, and the secondary endpoint, ORR, were also done. Safety was analysed in patients who had at least one dose of study drug. RESULTS At the final OS analysis, the median duration of follow-up was 19.6 months in the utidelone plus capecitabine group and 15.4 months in the capecitabine alone group. In the intention-to-treat population, 313 deaths had occurred at data cut-off, 203 of 270 patients in the combination group and 110 of 135 in the monotherapy group. Median OS in the combination group was 19.8 months compared with 16.0 months in the monotherapy group [hazard ratio (HR) = 0.75, 95% confidence intervals (CI) 0.59-0.94, P = 0.0142]. The updated analysis of PFS and ORR showed that the combination therapy remained superior to monotherapy. Safety results were similar to those previously reported with respect to incidence, severity and specificity. No late-emerging toxicities or new safety concerns occurred. CONCLUSIONS For heavily-pretreated, anthracycline- and taxane-resistant MBC patients, utidelone plus capecitabine significantly improved OS versus capecitabine alone. These results support the use of utidelone plus capecitabine as a novel therapeutic regimen for patients with MBC.

Abstract
Berberine (BBR) has been reported that it has effects on inhibiting colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the mechanism of BBR on CRC also remains largely unknown. Herein, we investigated the therapeutic effects of BBR on CRC from the perspective of gut microbiota and metabolic alterations, which can provide a holistic view to understand the effects of BBR on CRC. First, azoxymethane (AOM)/dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) mouse was used as CRC animal model, then the degree of colorectal carcinogenesis in AOM/DSS mice with or without BBR administration was measured. The composition and abundance of gut microbiota was investigated by using 16S rRNA. Meanwhile, feces samples were analyzed with 1H NMR spectroscopy to investigate the metabolic alterations. As a result, BBR significantly reduced intestinal tumor development with lower macroscopic polyps and ki-67 expression of intestinal tissue, and better colonic morphology in mice. Moreover, BBR altered the composition of gut microbiota in AOM/DSS mice obviously, which were characterized by a decrease of Actinobacteria and Verrucomicrobia significantly at the phylum level. At the genus level, it was able to suppress pathogenic species, such as f_Erysipelotrichaceae, Alistipes, and elevate some short-chain fatty acids (SCFA)-producing bacteria, including Alloprevotella, Flavonifractor, and Oscillibacter. Metabolic data further revealed that BBR induced metabolic changes in feces focus on regulating glycometabolism, SCFA metabolism and amino acid metabolism, which also provides evidence for alteration of the microbiota because these feces metabolites are the products of interactions between the host and the microbial community. This study showed that BBR induced alterations in microbiota and metabolic in AOM/DSS mice, which might providing new insight into the inhibition effects of BBR on CRC.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of syphilis in Zhejiang province and to provide scientific basis for the development of syphilis prevention and control strategies. Methods: A descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the incidence data of syphilis in Zhejiang from 2010 to 2019. Results: During the period, the incidence rate of syphilis decreased from 94.90/100 000 in 2010 to 53.53/100 000 in 2019 with an average decreasing rate of 6.16%. The annual decreases of the incidences of congenital syphilis, primary syphilis and secondary syphilis were all obvious, which were 43.47%, 21.38% and 14.19% respectively. The proportion of latent syphilis cases increased with year. Except for Lishui, the incidences of syphilis in the remaining 10 prefectures showed declining trends. The incidence rates in both men and women showed declining trends with the average rates of 4.80% and 6.45% respectively. The incidence peaks occurred in old men aged ≥60 years and in sexually active women aged 20-34 years, and the syphilis cases in age group ≥60 years increased significantly. The cases were mainly farmers, accounting for 43.00%. Conclusion: The incidence of syphilis in Zhejiang showed a decreasing trend, but the situation remains serious, indicating that the intensity and quality of the comprehensive prevention and control needs to be further strengthened.

Abstract
AIMS To develop an oral delivery system of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) (28-36) for treating type-2 diabetes, B.S-GLP-1(28-36), a recombinant Bacillus subtilis spores transformed with a plasmid vector encoding five consecutive GLP-1 (28-36) nonapeptides with an enterokinase site was constructed. METHODS AND RESULTS GLP-1(28-36) nonapeptide was successfully expressed on the surface of B. subtilis spores and validated by Western blot and immunofluorescence. The therapeutic effect of oral administration of B.S-GLP-1(28-36) spores was evaluated in type 2 diabetic model mice. The efficacy of recombinant spores was examined for a period of 13 weeks after oral administration in diabetic mice. At the end of the sixth week, diabetic mice with oral administration of BS-GLP-1(28-36) spores showed decreased blood glucose levels from 2·4 × 10- 2 mol l-1 to 1·7 × 10- 2 mol l-1 . By the ninth week, the mean fasting blood glucose level in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group 30 min after injection of pyruvate. At the end of the 10th week of oral administration, the blood glucose of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group after intraperitoneal injection of glucose. By the 12th week, fasting blood glucose level and fasting insulin level were measured in all mice, the results showed that the recombinant spores increased the insulin sensitivity of mice. CONCLUSIONS The results of pathological observation showed that the recombinant spores also had a certain protective effect on the liver and islets of mice, and the content of GLP-1(28-36) in the pancreas of the experimental group was increased. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY The results of this study revealed that GLP-1(28-36) nonapeptides can reduce blood glucose and play an important role in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
