Abstract
Emodin, as a natural active ingredient, has shown great application potential in the fields of medicine, food and cosmetics due to its unique pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancer, etc. In recent years, with the development of science and technology and the increase of people's demand for natural medicine, emodin research has been paid more and more attention by the global scientific research community. The bibliometric analysis of emodin and the construction of knowledge map are still blank. We searched the publications of emodin related studies in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2004 to 2024 and conducted a bibliometric analysis. Data processing was done using the R packages Bibliometrix, VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The consensus identified 4,125 emodin related articles from multiple countries, with China being the main contributor. The number of publications in this field is increasing year by year. China Medical University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are all prominent research institutions in this field. The Journal of ethnopharmacology published the most articles on the subject. The total number of authors of these articles has reached 14,991, among which Yi Wang is the author with the most output and Xiaoxv Dong is the author with the most cited times. "emodin", "apoptosis", and "liver injury" were the main research focuses. Topics such as "pharmacology", "photodynamic therapy", "advancing drug discovery" and "gallbladder cancer cell" may represent emerging areas of research in medicine. The results of this study help to identify the latest research frontiers and hot topics, and provide a valuable reference for the study of emodin family.

Abstract
The P2X7 receptor (P2X7R), activated by ATP, participates in mediating a variety of biological processes such as the release of inflammatory factors, thereby affecting the pathogenesis of numerous diseases. Despite its clinical significance, comprehensive bibliometric studies on P2X7R-related research remain scarce. To address this gap, we conducted a bibliometric investigation to quantify publication outputs, identify leading contributors, and map geographical distributions of P2X7R-related research, ultimately elucidating current research frontiers and emerging trends. Utilizing visualization techniques, complex bibliometric relationships were transformed into interpretable graphical representations. Our Web of Science query for "P2X7R" identified 4551 original research articles by 13,471 authors published since 1985. Publication volume demonstrated sustained growth, with China emerging as the predominant contributor in quantitative output (1871 articles) and the United States leading in international collaborations. Thematic mapping revealed two principal research areas: "P2X7R, inflammation, microglia" and "P2X7R, apoptosis, purinergic". Notably, "P2X7R, P2 receptors, oxidative stress" encompassed both motor and niche themes, thus representing the trajectory of future development potential. Through bibliometric and visualization analysis, we found that the literature related to P2X7R is on the rise and will enter a new stage of interdisciplinary integration development in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy is an innovation in oncology, which provides targeted treatment alternatives for certain tumors. CAR-T therapy has been associated to adverse cardiovascular consequences despite its potential for therapeutic benefit. As research in this field expands rapidly, a bibliometric study is needed to map the current state of knowledge and highlight emerging areas of interest to guide future studies and optimize patient outcomes. METHODS A comprehensive bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection and PubMed to examine the literature on CAR-T cell therapy and its cardiovascular implications. RESULTS The annual number of publications on CAR-T therapy and cardiovascular symptoms has steadily increased, experiencing a significant surge starting in 2018. The USA, China, and Germany emerged as the leading contributors. Key journals included Frontiers in Immunology and Blood, while highly cited journals were Lancet Oncology and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Keyword analysis identified multiple myeloma, immunotherapy, and cytokine release syndrome as major research themes. The clustered map highlighted interconnected research areas, with a significant focus on multiple myeloma, combination therapy, cardiovascular magnetic resonance assessment, and novel therapeutic approaches. CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis provided a detailed overview of the research landscape on CAR-T cell therapy and its cardiovascular implications, identifying trends and gaps in knowledge. Recent research trends highlighted bispecific antibodies, CAR-T cell therapy, cardiovascular events, lymphoma, management, and outcomes as emerging focus areas. These keywords underscore the developing field of cardiac events, management, and outcomes in patients undergoing CAR-T cell therapy.

Abstract
Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are web-like, bactericidal structures produced by neutrophils and are composed principally of extracellular DNA, histones, elastase, and myeloperoxidase, among other components. NET formation is an innate immune response that is beneficial for pathogen killing and clearance. However, excessive NET formation and clearance defects can lead to inflammation and induce damage to host organs. NETs are also implicated in the development of noninfectious inflammatory disorders, such as liver injury in chronic liver diseases. The liver parenchyma contains hepatocytes, liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, Kupffer cells, and hepatic stellate cells. Each of these cells possesses unique structures and functions, and their interactions with NETs result in pathophysiological changes contributing to liver injury. This review updates the findings related to the modes of action and molecular mechanisms by which NETs modulate the pathophysiology of various hepatic cells and potentiate liver injury. The article also reviews the roles of NETs in hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury, hepatocellular carcinoma pathogenesis, and cancer metastasis. Last, we examine data to determine whether NETs induce crosstalk among various hepatic cells during liver injury and to identify future research directions.

Abstract
Background In recent years, an increasing body of evidence has revealed a complex interplay between obesity and asthma, prompting academic and medical communities to intensify their focus on this area of research. The objective of this study is to undertake a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the research literature pertaining to obesity-related asthma from 2004 to 2023. This analysis aims to provide precise and valuable insights, as well as to systematically reflect upon the current status and emerging trends within the field. Methods Literature data on obesity and asthma research was sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were utilized to visually analyze bibliometric indicators such as co-authorship, citation networks, and publication frequency of the data to facilitate the identification of patterns and trends. Results A total of 3,118 papers were included in the analysis, encompassing 2,539 articles and 579 reviews. Throughout the last 20 years, the volume of publications has shown a consistent upward trend. The United States and Harvard University are at the forefront of this research field. Professor Dixon Anne E. is recognized as a pioneer and leading figure in the cultivation of obesity-related asthma research. Keyword analysis identified topics such as "childhood asthma," "bariatric surgery," "physical activity," "gut microbiota," "COVID-19," "food allergy," "asthma control," "nutrition examination," and "severe asthma." Conclusion The research domain of obesity-related asthma has experienced a substantial growth, with the United States, the United Kingdom, and China leading the global landscape. The focus on asthma in obese adolescents and children, the role of bariatric surgery, and lifestyle interventions remains a consistent area of interest, with considerable potential for further study. These findings provide a scientific basis for the development of personalized treatment programs for obese asthma patients. In addition, this study highlights the importance of further research in the fields of gut microbiota, COVID-19, and food allergy, providing directions for future policymaking.

Abstract
Background Umbrella review studies have become increasingly vital in evidence synthesis, offering a comprehensive overview by analyzing multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses. This bibliometric study aimed to delineate the growth and thematic evolution of umbrella reviews within evidence-based medicine, illuminating their integral role in synthesizing high-level evidence. Methods Utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection, we performed a search for publications on umbrella reviews, identifying relevant articles through a refined strategy. Analytical tools including VOS Viewer and CiteSpace were employed to visualize connections and trends among the gathered data, converting intricate bibliometric information into comprehensible visual maps. Results Our search yielded 2965 pertinent publications, highlighting a marked growth in research output, particularly from 2010 to 2023. The United States, United Kingdom, and China were predominant in this field, with leading institutions like King's College London and the University of Toronto at the forefront. The analysis identified major journals such as BMJ Open and PLOS One as key publishers. Co-citation and keyword analysis revealed current research focuses, with recent trends emphasizing COVID-19 and mental health. The study also uncovered a robust international collaboration network, underscoring the global impact of umbrella reviews. Conclusion This bibliometric analysis confirms the expanding influence and utility of umbrella reviews in medical research and decision-making. By charting the evolution and current trends in this field, our study not only showcases the geographical and institutional distribution of research but also guides future scholarly efforts to advance evidence synthesis methodologies.

Abstract
Background The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into cardiovascular procedures has significantly advanced diagnostic accuracy, outcome prediction, and robotic-assisted surgeries. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of AI's impact in this field is lacking. This study examines research trends, key contributors, and emerging themes in AI-driven cardiovascular interventions. Methods We retrieved relevant publications from the Web of Science Core Collection and analyzed them using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Biblioshiny to map research trends and collaborations. Results AI-related cardiovascular research has grown substantially from 1993 to 2024, with a sharp increase from 2020 to 2023, peaking at 93 publications in 2023. The USA (127 papers), China (79), and England (31) were the top contributors, with Harvard University leading institutional output (17 papers). Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine was the most prolific journal. Core research themes included "machine learning," "mortality," and "cardiac surgery," with emerging trends in "association," "implantation," and "aortic stenosis," underscoring AI's expanding role in predictive modeling and surgical outcomes. Conclusion AI demonstrates transformative potential in cardiovascular procedures, particularly in diagnostic imaging, predictive modeling, and patient management. This bibliometric analysis highlights the growing interest in AI applications and provides a framework for integrating AI into clinical workflows to enhance diagnostic accuracy, treatment strategies, and patient outcomes.

Abstract
The complement cascade and Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) represent fundamental tools in protecting the host from foreign pathogens. Complement components and relative fragments, classically assigned to the innate immunity, represent a key link with the humoral immune response. NETs are a crucial component of the innate immune response, consisting of chromatin release from activated neutrophils. These web-like structures facilitate pathogen entrapment and elimination through proteolytic degradation and antimicrobial effectors. Previous findings suggested complement components and NETs have a significant role in the pathogenesis of several diseases characterized by inflammation, such as autoimmune and infectious diseases. However, the crosstalk between NETs and the complement cascade has only recently been investigated, and several aspects still need to be fully clarified. Recent evidence seems to suggest a bidirectional link between the complement cascade and NETosis. We here present the interaction between complement components and NETs in specific autoimmune diseases that mostly affect the kidney, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, Antineutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis and antiphospholipid syndrome. The mechanisms reported here may represent specific targets for the development of possible therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
Background Tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) play crucial roles in tumor progression, immune response modulation, and the therapeutic outcomes. Despite significant advancements in TAN research, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis that objectively presents the current status and trends in this field is lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by visually analyzing global trends in TANs research using bibliometric and knowledge mapping techniques. Methods We retrieved articles and reviews related to TANs from the Web of Science core collection database, spanning the period from 2012 to2024. The data was analyzed using bibliometric tools such as Excel 365, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio) to identify key trends, influential countries and institutions, collaborative networks. and citation patterns. Results A total of 6l5 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis, showing a significant upward trend in TANs research over the last two decades. The United States and China emerged as the leading contributors with the highest number of publications and citations. The journal with the most publications in this field is Frontiers in Immunology, Prominent authors such as Fridlender ZG was identified as the key contributor, with his works frequently cited. The analysis highlighted major research themes. including the role of TANs in tumor microenvironment modulation, their dual functions in tumor promotion and suppression, and the exploration of TANs-targeted therapies, Emerging research hotspots include studies on TANs plasticity and their interactions with other immune cells. Conclusion This study is the first to employ bibliometric methods to visualize trends and frontiers in TANs research. The findings provide valuable insights into the evolution of the field, highlighting critical areas for future investigation and potential collaborative opportunities. This comprehensive analysis serves as a crucial resource for researchers and practitioners aiming to advance TAN research and its application in cancer therapy.

Abstract
New insights into the role of immune responses in the fibrosis process provide valuable considerations for the treatment of organ fibrotic diseases. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) represent a novel understanding of neutrophil functions, and their involvement in organ fibrotic diseases has garnered widespread attention in recent years. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis and literature review focusing on the mechanisms by which NETs participate in fibrotic diseases. Specifically, we utilized a bibliometric dataset that includes 220 papers published in 139 journals, originating from 425 organizations across 39 countries, with a total citation count of 12,301. Keyword co-occurrence analysis indicates that the research focus on the mechanisms of NETs in organ fibrosis is likely to center on NETosis, immune responses, immune thrombosis, inflammation, and tissue damage associated with NET formation. In conclusion, our findings underscore the current status and emerging trends in NET research related to organ fibrosis, offering novel insights into the mechanisms by which NETs contribute to the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases, as well as potential therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Schizophrenia (SCZ) is a complex mental disorder characterized by a wide range of symptoms and cognitive impairments. The search for reliable biomarkers for SCZ has gained increasing attention in recent years, as they hold the potential to improve early diagnosis and intervention strategies. To understand the research trends and collaborations in this field, a comprehensive Bibliometric analysis of SCZ and biomarkers research was conducted. METHODS A systematic search of the Web of Science Core Collection was performed to retrieve relevant articles published from January 2000 to July 2023. The search focused on SCZ and biomarkers. Bibliometric tools, including CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R package Bibliometrix, were utilized to perform data extraction, quantitative analysis, and visualization. RESULTS The search focused on SCZ and biomarkers, and a total of 2935 articles were included in the analysis. The analysis revealed a gradual increase in the number of publications related to SCZ and biomarkers over the years, indicating a growing research focus in this area. Collaboration and research activity were found to be concentrated in the United States and Western European countries. Among the top ten most active journals, "Schizophrenia Research" emerged as the journal with the highest number of publications and citations related to SCZ and biomarkers. Recent studies published in this journal have highlighted the potential use of facial expressions as a diagnostic biomarker for SCZ, suggesting that facial expression analysis using big data may hold promise for future diagnosis and interventions. Furthermore, the analysis of key research keywords identified inflammatory factors, DNA methylation changes, and glutamate alterations as potential biomarkers for SCZ diagnosis. CONCLUSION This Bibliometric analysis provides valuable insights into the current state of research on SCZ and biomarkers. The identification of reliable biomarkers for SCZ could have significant implications for early diagnosis and interventions, potentially leading to improved outcomes for individuals affected by this challenging mental disorder. Further research and collaborations in this field are encouraged to advance our understanding of SCZ and enhance diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The kidney, an essential organ of the human body, can suffer pathological damage that can potentially have serious adverse consequences on the human body and even affect life. Furthermore, the majority of kidney-induced illnesses are frequently not readily identifiable in their early stages. Once they have progressed to a more advanced stage, they impact the individual's quality of life and burden the family and broader society. In recent years, to solve this challenge well, the application of machine learning techniques in renal medicine has received much attention from researchers, and many results have been achieved in disease diagnosis and prediction. Nevertheless, studies that have conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the field have yet to be identified. OBJECTIVES This study employs bibliometric and visualization analyses to assess the progress of the application of machine learning in the renal field and to explore research trends and hotspots in the field. METHODS A search was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection database, which yielded articles and review articles published from the database's inception to May 12, 2024. The data extracted from these articles and review articles were then analyzed. A bibliometric and visualization analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometric (R-Tool of R-Studio) software. RESULTS 2,358 papers were retrieved and analyzed for this topic. From 2013 to 2024, the number of publications and the frequency of citations in the relevant research areas have exhibited a consistent and notable increase annually. The data set comprises 3734 institutions in 91 countries and territories, with 799 journals publishing the results. The total number of authors contributing to the data set is 14,396. China and the United States have the highest number of published papers, with 721 and 525 papers, respectively. Harvard University and the University of California System exert the most significant influence at the institutional level. Regarding authors, Cheungpasitporn, Wisit, and Thongprayoon Charat of the Mayo Clinic organization were the most prolific researchers, with 23 publications each. It is noteworthy that researcher Breiman I had the highest co-citation frequency. The journal with the most published papers was "Scientific Reports," while "PLoS One" had the highest co-citation frequency. In this field of machine learning applied to renal medicine, the article "A Clinically Applicable Approach to Continuous Prediction of Future Acute Kidney Injury" by Tomasev N et al., published in NATURE in 2019, emerged as the most influential article with the highest co-citation frequency. A keyword and reference co-occurrence analysis reveals that current research trends and frontiers in nephrology are the management of patients with renal disease, prediction and diagnosis of renal disease, imaging of renal disease, and development of personalized treatment plans for patients with renal disease. "Acute kidney injury," "chronic kidney disease," and "kidney tumors" are the most discussed diseases in medical research. CONCLUSIONS The field of renal medicine is witnessing a surge in the application of machine learning. On one hand, this study offers a novel perspective on applying machine learning techniques to kidney-related diseases based on bibliometric analysis. This analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the current status and emerging research areas in the field, as well as future trends and frontiers. Conversely, this study furnishes data on collaboration and exchange between countries, regions, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and reference co-citations. This information can facilitate the advancement of future research endeavors, which aim to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, optimize data sharing and quality, and further advance the application of machine learning in the renal field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite numerous studies over the past two decades, clinical treatment for port wine stains (PWS) has shown limited progress. Analyzing evolutionary trends and research focal points can illuminate current deficiencies and guide future investigations. We aim to conduct a scientometric analysis and meta-analysis to uncover the historical trajectory, research hotspots, and future directions of PWS. METHODS We conducted a scientometric analysis of articles related to PWS published between 2000 and 2023. Data were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and analyzed using R software, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. Furthermore, we retrieved articles reporting therapeutic clearance rates for PWS from PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane search engines. A meta-analysis was performed using Stata/MP to assess whether treatment outcomes for PWS have improved in the 21st century. RESULTS The annual scientific output was stable from 2000 to 2023. The top three countries in terms of document production were the United States, China, and the United Kingdom. Pulsed dye laser (PDL) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) were the two primary modalities used in the treatment of PWS. A notable difference exists in the preference for these treatment modalities between China and Western countries. The meta-analysis shows improvement in treatment outcomes for PWS from 2000 to 2023. CONCLUSIONS Although limited, treatment outcomes for PWS have shown improvement in the 21st century. However, there is a critical need for research directions that could revolutionize current treatment practices. Genetic discoveries have suggested promising therapeutic targets for potential breakthroughs in the future.

Abstract
Introduction Parasitic diseases pose a significant global public health challenge, affecting billions of people and causing substantial economic losses in livestock and poultry. In the fight against these infections, neutrophils play a crucial role, employing various strategies, including the release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Recent studies have made significant progress in understanding NETs triggered by protozoa and helminths. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis that compiles these findings and identifies research hotspots and trends in this field is still lacking. Methods We utilized the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus databases to retrieve original articles on NETs induced by protozoa and helminths. After screening, the data was transferred to the visualization tools VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and CiteSpace for analysis. Results Our study included 159 original articles published in 69 journals, involving 909 authors from 270 institutions across 41 countries. Germany and Brazil have made the most significant contributions to the research on NETs and parasites, accounting for 45 and 32 publications, and 1,495 and 1,342 citations, respectively. Carlos Hermosilla and Anja Taubert (Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany), and Elvira Saraiva (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), are leaders in the field, both in terms of publication output and citations. Frontiers in Immunology has consistently and significantly impacted the field, and an article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America providing the first direct evidence of NETs release in response to a parasite is by far the most cited. Current research focuses on malaria, Toxoplasma gondii, Besnoitia besnoiti, nematodes, and the mechanisms of NETs production and their effects on parasites and host cells. Emerging trends include therapeutic targeting of NETs and comparative studies across different host and parasite species. Conclusion This study offers a comprehensive overview and visual analysis of NETs and parasites, highlighting key areas for future research.

Abstract
Objective This study analyzed literature on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating chronic kidney disease (CKD) to identify research trends and provide guidance for future studies and clinical practice. Methods The study used data from Web of Science from 2000 to 2024 to analyze English-language literature on CKD and TCM. Bibliometric analysis was done using R software and the bibliometric package, with scientific mapping and visualization analysis conducted using tools like Citespace, VOSviewer, and ScimagoGraphica to explore research trends and connections. Results This study revealed that a total of 1,153 relevant documents were retrieved, and the number of published articles showed an increasing trend, reaching a peak in 2022. In terms of article publication, China ranked first with 760 articles, closely followed by the United States with 132 articles. Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine published 60 papers, the most among academic institutions, followed by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with 54 papers. In terms of individual authors, Liu Xinhui holds the record for the highest number of published articles, totaling 17, followed by Li Ping and Li Shunmin. The prevalent keywords include "chronic kidney disease," "TCM," and "oxidative stress." Currently, the prominent areas of research interest include network pharmacology, gut microbiota, oxidative stress, and related topics. The current research trend in this field is towards the adoption of novel methodologies such as network pharmacology and the emphasis on exploring the relationship between gut microbiota and CKD. Conclusion Global research on TCM in the treatment of CKD is showing a positive development trend, but further research on safety, efficacy evaluation, and international cooperation is still needed. The development trend is to adopt new scientific research methods and focus on exploring the mechanism of TCM in treating CKD.

Abstract
Influenza pathogens cause many illnesses and deaths yearly, posing a serious threat to global public health. As a result, most studies are increasingly focusing on the role of specific CD4+ T/CD8+ T cells in combating influenza. This study examines the key themes and trends in this field using bibliometric analysis. Literature on influenza and CD4+ T/CD8+ T cells were searched (from 1985 to 2023) in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Eligible articles were screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "bibliometrix." A total of 1,071 publications from 47 countries or regions and 1,148 institutions associated with 5,728 authors in the disciplines of immunology, virology, biochemistry, and molecular biology were included. The findings indicate a yearly increase in publications related to influenza and CD4+ T/CD8+ T cells, with the United States, Australia, and China leading in publication volume. The University of Melbourne had the highest volume of publications. Only a few researchers collaborated, and the collaborations were mostly concentrated in the same countries/regions. Professor Katherine Kedzierska, associated with The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, was the most productive academic in this field. According to the analysis of highly cited literature and keywords, the application of cellular immunity in formulating pioneering influenza vaccines is a key direction for future research.The role of CD4+ T/CD8+ T cells in combating the influenza virus has emerged as a significant focus within influenza research literature. This article summarizes the research institutions, authors, journals, hotspots, and application trends of CD4+ T/CD8+ T cells in influenza.

Abstract
Medication therapy management (MTM) includes various clinical pharmacy services that greatly influence society and economy. Despite extensive research in recent years, there is currently a lack of bibliometric analysis on this subject. Articles and reviews on MTM published from 2003 to 2023 were identified and selected from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, VoSviewer, Bibliometrix, and Microsoft Excel were used to conduct bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping. The bibliometric analysis encompassed 3255 publications on MTM. The United States and the United Kingdom emerged as the most influential countries in this particular domain, whereas Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School were the most active institutions. Elizabeth Manias published the largest number of papers, whereas Jeffrey L. Schnipper published the largest number of co-citations. The American Pharmacists Association has been identified as the most prolific journal in this field. Optimizing medication and ensuring drug safety in elderly patients are current research frontiers. Topics such as "polypharmacy," "dementia," "oncology," and "anticholinergic burden" were identified as potential research priorities in the future. This study is the first to utilize bibliometric analysis to uncover the global status, research hotspots, and future development trends of MTM for scholars, thereby providing valuable guidance for future research endeavors.

Abstract
Background Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is a non-invasive cancer treatment technique stemming from photodynamic therapy (PDT) and has garnered escalated interest among researchers in recent years. Numerous aspects of cancer SDT remain contentious, and the global research trajectory within this domain remains insufficiently explored. This study seeks to delineate the comprehensive knowledge framework, developmental trends, and pivotal research focal points concerning cancer SDT. Methods The study retrieved documents on cancer SDT from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database spanning from 1 January 2000 to 7 December 2023. Bibliometric visualization was carried out through the utilization of CiteSpace 6.2 R6, VOSviewer 1.6.20, and an online analytical platform. Several bibliometric techniques including co-authorship, co-citation, co-occurrence, cluster, as well as burst analysis were used. Results A total of 672 publications including 603 articles and 69 reviews were included. The annual publication count exhibited a steady increase over time, notably experiencing a surge, particularly in recent years. In terms of contributors, China has maintained its prominent position with the highest outputs and the most financial support. Chinese Academy of Sciences contributed the most articles. Materials Science was the most investigated research areas. Breast cancer emerged as the most extensively studied tumor, succeeded by sarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, glioma. According to co-cited references, "harnessing nanomaterial", "sonodynamic precision tumor therapy" and "metal-organic framework" denote the current and emerging research focuses within the field. In tandem with the results from keywords co-occurrence and burst, we identified the following research topics including mechanism of induced cell death (ferroptosis, immunogenic cell death), nano-related research (nanoplatform, nanozymes, nanomaterials, nanosheets, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), nanocomposites, nanoparticles, nanosonosensitizers, liposomes, nanocarriers), combination therapies (chemodynamic therapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, photothermal therapy), and tumor microenvironment (hypoxia, singlet oxygen, oxidative stress), that may remain the research hotspots and receive sustained attention in the near future. Conclusions For the first time, this bibliometric analysis not only presents a comprehensive portrayal of the knowledge framework, but also delineates shifts in research focal points related to cancer SDT within the last two decades. This systematic summarization offers a comprehensive and lucid comprehension of cancer SDT, providing valuable insights for further investigations in this domain.

Abstract
The influenza virus is considered as a kind of significant zoonotic infectious disease identified to date, with severe infections in humans characterized by excessive inflammation and tissue damage, usually resulting in serious complications. Although the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammation after influenza infection have been extensively studied, bibliometric analysis on the research hotspots and developing trends in this field has not been published heretofore. Articles related to influenza and inflammatory response were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database (1992-2024) and analyzed using various visualization tools. Finally, this study collected a total of 2,176 relevant articles, involving 13,184 researchers, 2,647 institutions, 78 countries/regions, and published in 723 journals. Most articles were published in the United States (928 articles), China (450 articles) and the United Kingdom (158 articles). Ross Vlahos was the most productive author. Furthermore, some journals, such as PLoS One and Frontiers in Immunology, made much contribution to the topic. The future research trends include airway stem cells and neuroendocrine cells as new directions for the treatment of influenza complications, as well as measures related to prevention, treatment, and research and development based on the COVID-19 pandemic. Through bibliometric analysis and summary of inflammatory response of influenza-related articles, this study ultimately summarizes new directions for preventing and treating influenza.

Abstract
The objective was to determine the research status and hotspots of seasonal affective disorders (SAD) based on bibliometric tools, which will contribute to the further research in this field. We used bibliometric tools CiteSpace and VOSviewer to conduct visual quantitative analysis on 465 SAD literatures in the Web of Science core database from 2008 to 2023 from multiple perspectives such as collaboration network, keywords, and literature citations. At the same time, we used Microsoft Word to make relevant tables. The publication of SAD-related literature has been on the rise in the past 15 years, countries with high production of SAD literature are mainly concentrated in the United States, Austria, and Canada, and certain cooperative relationships have been established between various institutions and scholars. Research keywords in our study are mainly limited to pathogenesis ("Photoperiod," "exposure," "winter," "serotonin transporter," and "creb") and treatment measures ("light therapy" and "melatonin"). In recent years, literature research hotspots mainly focus on the treatment of SAD with light therapy, the application of exogenous drugs, the biological clock mechanism of SAD pathogenesis, the relationship between SAD and inflammation, etc. The correlation between SAD and sleepiness and alternative treatments to light therapy may be future research hotspots. The research results reveal the future research focus of SAD. There is a considerable interest in the photoperiodic pathogenesis of SAD, light therapy and its alternative therapies, and there is still hope for further exploration. Substantial research into evidence-based prevention as well as treatment strategies is necessary to improve outcomes.

Abstract
Background In recent years, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists have garnered increasing attention for their potential cardiovascular benefits beyond glycemic control in patients with diabetes. Understanding the research landscape surrounding GLP-1 agonists and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is crucial for informing clinical practice and guiding future research endeavors. This bibliometric analysis aimed to comprehensively assess the scholarly output and trends in this field, shedding light on the evolving landscape of GLP-1 agonists' role in cardiovascular health. Methods The publications concerning GLP-1 agonists in CVDs were gathered from the Web of Science Core Collection, and visualizations were created utilizing Excel 2019, Cite Space, and VOS viewer software. Results and Conclusion Using bibliometric and visual methods, the research hotspots and trends regarding GLP-1 agonists in cardiovascular diseases were pinpointed. Additionally, a thriving interest in GLP-1 agonists research within cardiovascular medicine was observed, with a notable surge in publications from 2016 onwards. The analysis revealed that the United States and China are the leading contributors, accounting for over 50% of the total publications. The University of Copenhagen and the University of Toronto emerged as the most prolific institutions in this field. Co-citation analysis highlighted the influential role of landmark clinical trials, such as the LEADER, ELIXA, and EXSCEL. Keyword trend analysis identified the emergence of newer GLP-1 agonists, such as tirzepatide and semaglutide, as well as a growing focus on topics like 'healthy obesity' and chronic kidney disease. These findings suggest that the research landscape is evolving, with a focus on expanding the therapeutic applications of GLP-1 agonists beyond glycemic control. Overall, this bibliometric analysis provided insights into the current state and future directions of research on GLP-1 agonists and their impact on cardiovascular health, guiding future research endeavors, and informing clinical practice.

Abstract
Background A bibliometric and visual analysis of articles related to glioblastoma metabolism was conducted to reveal the dynamics of scientific development and to assist researchers in gaining a global perspective when exploring hotspots and trends. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was employed to search, screen, and download articles about glioblastoma metabolism published between 2014 and 2024. The relevant literature was analyzed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel. Results A total of 729 articles were included for bibliometric analysis between 2014 and 2024, and the number of articles published each year showed an overall increasing trend, except for a decrease in the number of articles published in 2018 compared to 2017. Collaboration network analysis showed that the United States, Germany and China are influential countries in this field, with a high number of articles published, citations and collaborations with other countries. The journal with the largest number of published articles is the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. Mischel PS is the most prolific author with 14 articles, and Guo DL received the most citations with 104 citations. Keyword analysis of the literature showed that the "Warburg effect" achieved the highest burst intensity, and "central nervous system", "classification" and "fatty acids" showed stronger citation bursts in 2024, indicating that they are still popular topics so far. Conclusion This article elucidates the research trends and focal points in the field of glioblastoma metabolism, furnishes invaluable insights into the historical and contemporary status of this field, and offers guidance for future research. Further research into glioblastoma metabolism will undoubtedly yield new insights that will inform the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bibliometrics and statistics were used to determine and analyze the research status of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) from 2004 to 2023, and objectively reflect the development and future trend of HFRS at home and abroad through comparison. METHODS To search the research literature on HFRS in China National Knowledge Network and Web of Science databases from January 2004 to December 2023, CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to visually analyze the annual publication trends, authors, research institutions, countries, co-cited literature, keywords and other contents of the included literatures. RESULTS A total of 4460 Chinese literatures and 2372 foreign literatures were included. The number of HFRS published in the Web of Science database showed a trend of positive growth, while the number of HFRS published in China National Knowledge Network showed a trend of decline. Bai Xuefan and Wang Zhiqiang were the most published authors in China, and foreign scholars Vaheri, Antti, Ahlm, Clas. The main research institutions in the domestic literature were Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Liaoning Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, while foreign research institutions concentrated on the University of Helsinki and Ministry of Health. The top 3 countries in the literature research of Web of Science are the USA, China, and Germany. CONCLUSION The analysis results of hot spots and trends suggested that we need to develop more reliable tools and methods in the monitoring and spatio-temporal analysis of HFRS epidemic data in the future, so as to provide references for the surveillance and early warning of zoonotic diseases in the field of public health research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of SD, but there has been no bibliometric research yet. This study aims to use bibliometric methods to analyze the current research status and hot topics of SD, to understand further the research trends and future development prospects in this field. METHODS Retrieve core literature on SD from the Web of Science database and conduct a detailed analysis using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software based on factors such as publication volume, countries (regions), research institutions, journals, authors, highly-cited papers, and keywords. RESULTS From 1996 to 2024, a total of 1436 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis. The number of publications has shown an increasing trend year by year. The USA is the leading country in this field of research. The University of California System is the primary research institution. The International Journal of Dermatology is the journal with the highest number of publications. The author Yang Won Lee has the highest number of publications, while the article "Seborrheic Dermatitis" (2004) by Gupta, A.K. has been cited the most. "Seborrheic dermatitis" is the most frequently occurring keyword. The main research hotspots and frontiers in SD are as follows: (1) The relationship between SD and other skin diseases is a popular research topic; (2) Malassezia and inflammation are current research hotspots in SD; and (3) Focusing on antifungal and anti-inflammatory treatments for SD is the current frontier direction in this field. CONCLUSION This study is a summary of the current status and hot trends of SD research, which helps clinical doctors and researchers quickly understand the insights and valuable information of SD research and provides reference for clinical decision-making and finding future research directions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a common skin disease characterized by clear pigmented patches on the folds of the skin. However, the AN research field lacks scientific and comprehensive bibliometric analysis. This article aims to use bibliometric methods to summarize and visualize the distribution patterns, research hotspots, and development trends of AN literature. METHODS Literature from 1900 to 2024 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database through AN's thematic search. Using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel 2019, conduct a comprehensive analysis of the number of publications, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, highly cited literature, keywords, and so on, and sort out the hotspots and directions of AN. RESULTS From 1900 to 2024, 1675 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis, showing a steady annual increase in the number of publications. The United States leads in this research field, with the University of Texas System being a key research institution. The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism has the highest number of published papers. The most cited article is "Syndromes of Insulin Resistance and Acanthosis Nigricans: Insulin-Receptor Disorders in Man" (1976). The author Taylor, SI, has published the most papers. "Acanthosis nigricans" is the most frequently occurring keyword. The main research hotspots and frontier areas in AN research are as follows: (1) The relationship between AN and other diseases is a popular research topic; (2) The connection between AN and insulin resistance (IR) is a current research focus; (3) Treatment of AN, with an emphasis on addressing the underlying causes and improving local skin conditions, represents the cutting edge of this field. CONCLUSION This study summarizes the research trends and hotspots in the field of AN, offering valuable information and insights for scholars focused on AN scientific research, and providing a reference for future research directions.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to analyze research on anxiety disorders using VOSviewer and CiteSpace to identify research hotspots and future directions. Methods We conduct ed a comprehensive search on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for relevant studies about anxiety disorders published within the past two decades (from 2004 to 2024). VOSviewer and CiteSpace were mainly used to analyze the authors, institutions, countries, publishing journals, reference co-citation patterns, keyword co-occurrence, keyword clustering, and other aspects to construct a knowledge atlas. Results A total of 22,267 publications related to anxiety disorders were retrieved. The number of publications about anxiety disorders has generally increased over time, with some fluctuations. The United States emerged as the most productive country, with Harvard University identified as the most prolific institution and Brenda W. J. H. Penninx as the most prolific author in the field. Conclusion This research identified the most influential publications, authors, journals, institutions, and countries in the field of anxiety research. Future research directions are involved advanced treatments based on pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and digital interventions, mechanism exploration to anxiety disorders based on neurobiological and genetic basis, influence of social and environmental factors on the onset of anxiety disorders.

Abstract
Objective The vascular chip has emerged as a significant research tool, garnering increasing interest and exploration. We utilize bibliometric techniques to analyze literature from the Web of Science (WOS) database, focusing on core journal publications. The aim is to provide a systematic review and prospective outlook on research trends within the vascular chip field, delving into current dynamics and highlighting areas for further investigation. Methods We retrieved articles, proceedings papers, and early-access publications related to vascular chips published between January 2012 and December 2022 reported by Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) in 2023. Scientific bibliometric analysis was performed using R-bibliometrix, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel software tools. Results A total of 456 publications were obtained, including 444 articles, 11 proceedings papers, and one early-access article. These originated from 167 academic journals and 751 research institutions across 44 countries/regions. The United States contributed the majority of publications (41%), with Harvard University leading in contributions (6.6%). Lab on a Chip was the top journal in terms of publications. Notably, authors Jeon NL and Huh D wielded significant influence, with the former being the most prolific author and the latter garnering the most citations. Recent research has predominantly focused on angiogenesis in relation to endothelial cells. Conclusion This scientometric investigation comprehensively surveys literature on vascular chips over past decade, providing valuable insights for scholars in the field. Our study reveals global increases in publications, with endothelial cells and angiogenesis being primary research focuses. This trend will persist, drawing continued attention from researchers.

Abstract
Background Neuroinflammation represents the immune response of the central nervous system to nerve injury, infection, toxin stimulation, or autoimmunity and is implicated in a wide range of neurological disorders. Viruses play a pivotal role as extrinsic biological drivers in neuroinflammation; however, numerous aspects remain unexplored. In this study, we employed bibliometric analysis to assess the current status of viral research in neuroinflammation and anticipate future research directions and emerging trends. Methods Conduct a comprehensive search for scholarly publications within the Web of Science Core Collection database, with search terms on neuroinflammation and virus. Apply Microsoft Excel Office, Hiplot, R (version 4.3.1), VOSviewer (version 1.6.20) and CiteSpace (6.2.R6, advanced) software for the bibliometric analysis and visualization. Results A total of 4230 articles and reviews on virus and neuroinflammation were identified, demonstrating a consistent upward trend over time. The United States was the country that contributed the most publications. Approximately 22274 authors from 4474 institutions contributed to the research. Johns Hopkins University leads with the highest number of publications and citations. The top three authors with the most published articles on this field are Power, C., Lane, T. E., and Buch, S. The Journal of Neuroinflammation is the most authoritative choice for researchers. The main research focuses in this field include multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, blood-brain barrier, COVID-19, Alzheimer's disease, gene therapy. In recent years, stress have emerged as hot keywords, particularly depression, human immunodeficiency virus-associated neurocognitive disorders, blood-brain barrier, gut microbiota related directions, indicating a potential shift in research focus. Conclusion Research on the virus and neuroinflammation has attracted increasing attention in the past decade. European and American countries have been pivotal in conducting research on virus and neuroinflammation, while China has produced a significant number of publications, its impact is still limited. Stress is likely to emerge as the next area of focus in this field. The association and regulation between viral infection and psychiatric disorders are not fully understood, and further research is needed to explore the role of neuroinflammation caused by different types of viral infection and psychiatric disorders.

Abstract
This study conducted a bibliometric analysis using the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) to explore the relationship between diabetes mellitus and bariatric surgery (BS) from January 1985 to August 2023. No publications were found between 1985 and 1998. However, from 1998 to 2023, a total of 9,496 English articles were identified, accumulating 291,289 citations (241,563 excluding self-citations) and achieving an H-Index of 197. Leading contributors to the field were the United States, China, and Italy. Noteworthy authors in this area of research included Philip R. Schauer, Wei-Jei Lee, and Carel W. le Roux. The major journals that featured this research were 'Obesity Surgery,' 'Diabetes Care,' and 'Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases.' The most highly cited article focused on lifestyle, diabetes, and cardiovascular risks 10 years after BS, emphasizing the significant attention given to the nutritional, cardiac, and general internal medicine impacts of diabetes and BS. The increase in research output during the review period indicates a growing interest in the relationship between diabetes and BS, providing a valuable reference for future studies in this evolving field.

Abstract
Neutrophils are considered 'first-line defence' cells as they can be rapidly recruited to the site of the immune response. As key components of non-specific immune mechanisms, neutrophils use phagocytosis, degranulation, and formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) to fight pathogens. Recently, immunoregulatory abilities of neutrophils associated with the secretion of several mediators, including cytokines and extracellular vesicles (EVs) containing, among other components, microRNAs (miRNAs), have also been reported. EVs are small structures released by cells into the extracellular space and are present in all body fluids. Microvesicles show the composition and status of the releasing cell, its physiological state, and pathological changes. Currently, EVs have gained immense scientific interest as they act as transporters of epigenetic information in intercellular communication. This review summarises findings from recent scientific reports that have evaluated the utility of miRNA molecules as biomarkers for effective diagnostics or even as start-points for new therapeutic strategies in neutrophil-mediated immune reactions. In addition, this review describes the current state of knowledge on miRNA molecules, which are endogenous regulators of gene expression besides being involved in the regulation of the immune response.

Abstract
Objective The study aimed to assess and investigate cervical spine fracture in diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis and to identify research trends in cervical spine fracture in diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis in countries around the world using bibliometric analysis. Method We examined bibliometric data obtained from the Scopus database collection for the periods 1 January 2000 and 1 January 2022. Authors, institutions, nations, publications, keywords, and references were noted and analyzed. The total number of research articles published on the subject of diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis was used to calculate the amount of research on that subject undertaken in the study period. A sample of the publication data collected from the Scopus database was then analyzed using the Bibliometric program and used to develop a relationship chart using the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer programs. Results The number of citations was assumed to be a qualitative measure of the publication. We estimated the impact of the research using several metrics, including the H-index, in the bibliometric analysis of authors, geographic areas, institutes, and references. A total of 52 studies related to cervical spine fractures in diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis were identified. Only 5.12% of those studies were cited in other publications, for a total of 1410 citations in publications by 342 authors, of whom only two authors had published a single study. Co-authorships occurred at 7.273%. Diseases common in elderly males were often studied retrospectively, and "Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis" was a frequently mentioned keyword. Conclusion The findings of this study provide insights into authors, institutions, key publications, and research trends related to diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis and can potentially serve as a guide for further studies in the field. The bibliometric analysis of cervical spine fractures in patients with diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis highlights important contributors, influential papers, geographical trends, and study characteristics in this area of research.

Abstract
Objective The significance of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastrointestinal tract has garnered increasing attention. In recent years, approximately 80 articles on ICC have been published annually in various journals. However, no bibliometric study has specifically focused on the literature related to ICC. Therefore, we conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of ICC to reveal dynamic scientific developments, assisting researchers in exploring hotspots and emerging trends while gaining a global perspective. Methods We conducted a literature search in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2023, to identify relevant literature on ICC. We employed bibliometric software, namely VOSviewer and CiteSpace, to analyze various aspects including annual publication output, collaborations, research hotspots, current status, and development trends in this domain. Results A total of 891 English papers were published in 359 journals by 928 institutions from 57 countries/regions. According to the keyword analysis of the literature, researchers mainly focused on "c-Kit," "expression," "smooth muscle," and "nitric oxide" related to ICC over the past 11 years. However, with "SIP syncytium," "ANO1," "enteric neurons," "gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST)," and "functional dyspepsia (FD)," there has been a growing interest in the relationship between ANO1, SIP syncytium, and ICC, as well as the role of ICC in the treatment of GIST and FD. Conclusion Bibliometric analysis has revealed the current status of ICC research. The association between ANO1, SIP syncytium, enteric neurons and ICC, as well as the role of ICC in the treatment of GIST versus FD has become the focus of current research. However, further research and collaboration on a global scale are still needed. Our analysis is particularly valuable to researchers in gastroenterology, oncology, and cell biology, providing insights that can guide future research directions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND According to national guidelines, a diet low in fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols (FODMAP) is a second-line therapy option for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and improves functional intestinal symptoms. Numerous noteworthy results have been published in this field over the past fifteen years. This study aims to analyze the global research trend and hotspot of the low FODMAP diet research, and provide a comprehensive perspective and direction for researchers. METHODS The Science Citation Index-Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was used to identify low FODMAP diet-related articles and reviews. Three bibliometric programs (CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphic) were utilized to analyze and visualize the annual publications, authors, countries, institutions, journals, citations, and keywords. RESULTS In total, 843 documents related to the low FODMAP diet research were published in 227 journals by 3,343 authors in 1,233 institutions from 59 countries. The United States, which was the most engaged nation in international collaboration, had the largest annual production and the fastest growth. The most productive organization was Monash University, and the most fruitful researcher was Gibson PR. Nutrients ranked first in terms of the number of published documents. The article "A diet low in FODMAPs reduces symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome" (Halmos EP, 2014) received the most co-citations. Keywords that appear frequently in the literature mainly involve two main aspects: the clinical efficacy evaluation and mechanism exploration of the low FODMAP diet. The term "gut microbiota" stands out as the most prominent keyword among the burst keywords that have remained prevalent till date. CONCLUSION The restriction stage of the low FODMAP diet is superior to other dietary therapies for IBS in terms of symptom response, but it has a negative impact on the abundance of gut Bifidobacteria and diet quality. Identification of biomarkers to predict response to the low FODMAP diet is of great interest and has become the current research hotspot.

Abstract
Background Epilepsy is one of the most common serious chronic neurological disorders, which can have a serious negative impact on individuals, families and society, and even death. With the increasing application of machine learning techniques in medicine in recent years, the integration of machine learning with epilepsy has received close attention, and machine learning has the potential to provide reliable and optimal performance for clinical diagnosis, prediction, and precision medicine in epilepsy through the use of various types of mathematical algorithms, and promises to make better parallel advances. However, no bibliometric assessment has been conducted to evaluate the scientific progress in this area. Therefore, this study aims to visually analyze the trend of the current state of research related to the application of machine learning in epilepsy through bibliometrics and visualization. Methods Relevant articles and reviews were searched for 2004-2023 using Web of Science Core Collection database, and bibliometric analyses and visualizations were performed in VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio). Results A total of 1,284 papers related to machine learning in epilepsy were retrieved from the Wo SCC database. The number of papers shows an increasing trend year by year. These papers were mainly from 1,957 organizations in 87 countries/regions, with the majority from the United States and China. The journal with the highest number of published papers is EPILEPSIA. Acharya, U. Rajendra (Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore) is the authoritative author in the field and his paper "Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for Automated Detection and Diagnosis of Epileptic Seizures Using EEG Signals" was the most cited. Literature and keyword analysis shows that seizure prediction, epilepsy management and epilepsy neuroimaging are current research hotspots and developments. Conclusions This study is the first to use bibliometric methods to visualize and analyze research in areas related to the application of machine learning in epilepsy, revealing research trends and frontiers in the field. This information will provide a useful reference for epilepsy researchers focusing on machine learning.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Due to changes in lifestyle and dietary habits, the global population with obesity is increasing gradually, resulting in a significant rise in the number of individuals having obesity. Obesity is caused by an imbalance between energy intake and consumption, leading to excessive fat accumulation, which interferes with normal human metabolism. It is also associated with cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, male reproductive endocrine regulation disorders, systemic and local inflammatory reactions, excessive oxidative stress, and apoptosis. All these factors can damage the internal environment for sperm generation and maturation, resulting in male sexual dysfunction, a decline in sperm quality, and lower fertility. This study analyzes the trends and priorities of the effects of obesity on male reproductive disorders from a bibliometric perspective. METHODS This study uses the Web of Science as the statistical source, covering all time spans. Tools like Web of Science, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace are used to analyze countries, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords in the field. Total publications, total citations, and average number of citations are selected for statistics. RESULTS The results show that the research on the impact of obesity on male reproductive function can be roughly divided into three stages: the initial stage, the slow development stage, and the rapid development stage. Our statistical scope includes 463 highly relevant articles that we have screened. We found that the journal with the most publications in this field is Andrologia, and the institution with the highest total citations is the University of Utah. The most influential countries, institutions, and authors in this field are the United States, the University of Utah, and Carrell, Douglas. Currently, research related to the impact of obesity on male reproduction focuses mainly on three aspects: biochemistry, molecular biology, and reproductive biology. The keyword explosion results indicate that sperm, obesity, and male reproduction are at the forefront and trends of future research in this field. There has been a shift from basic biochemical and molecular research to research on molecular mechanisms relying on omics technologies. However, we have observed that the number of papers published in 2022 is lower than in 2021, indicating a growth interruption during this period. Considering that this deviation may be due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it may hinder the progress of certain experiments in 2022. In recent years, China has rapidly developed research in this field. However, the average citation rate is relatively low, indicating the need for Chinese scholars to improve the quality of their articles further. Based on our research and in the context of global obesity, men are at risk of increased infertility. Addressing this issue relies on our continued research into the mechanisms of obesity-related male reproductive disorders. Over the past forty-three years, with the contributions of scientists worldwide, research in this field has flourished. CONCLUSION The impact of obesity on male reproductive disorders has been extensively studied. Currently, research in this field primarily focuses on male sperm function, sperm quality, and the effects or mechanisms of cells on male reproduction. Future trends in this field should concentrate on the relationship between male fertility and energy metabolism, as well as the endocrine function of adipose tissue. This study comprehensively analyzes the current research status and global trends in obesity and male reproductive disorders. We also discuss the future developments in this field, making it easier for researchers to understand its developmental history, current status, and trends, providing valuable reference for effective exploration in this area.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) is a complex pathophysiological process that typically occurs during the treatment of ischemia, with limited therapeutic options. Autophagy plays a vital role during the reperfusion phase and is a potential therapeutic target for preventing and treating cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive search of the Web of Science Core Collection for publications related to cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury with autophagy, published between January 1, 2008, and January 1, 2023. We analyzed the selected publications using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and other bibliometric tools. RESULTS Our search yielded 877 relevant publications. The field of autophagy in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury has grown rapidly since 2016. China has been the leading contributor to publications, followed by the USA and Iran. Chen Zhong and Qin Zhenghong have been influential in this field but have yet to reach all groups. In addition, there has been a shortage of collaboration among authors from different institutions. Our literature and keyword analysis identified Neurovascular protection (#11 Neuroprotective, #13 Neurovascular units, etc) and Inflammation (NLRP3 inflammasome) as popular research directions. Furthermore, the terms "Blood-Brain Barrier," "Mitophagy," and "Endoplasmic reticulum stress" have been frequently used and may be hot research topics in the future. CONCLUSIONS The role of autophagy in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury remains unclear, and the specific mechanisms of drugs used to treat ischemia-reperfusion injury still need to be explored. This work outlines the changing trends in investigating cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury involving autophagy and suggests future lines of inquiry.

Abstract
Background Occupational exposure is of increasing concern, posing a serious threat to nurses, especially in the event of a public health emergency. Bibliometrics sheds novel light on the current state of research and factors influencing nurses' occupational exposures, illuminating hot topics and trends in the literature. Bibliometrics is essential to analyze the potential harm to nurses in Asia. Methods Data were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection on August 6, 2022 with the following search terms: TS= (nurses) AND (TS= (occupational exposure OR occupational health)). CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to analyze national and institutional collaborations, reference clustering, citations and co-citations of journals and keyword bursts, and HistCite was used to analyze the citation historiography map. To analyze the data and generate statistical charts, Origin and Microsoft Excel were utilized. Results A total of 1448 studies on nurses' occupational exposure in Asia were identified. China Medical University had the most publications among Asian institutions, and China had the largest share among Asian countries. Most articles on nurses' occupational exposure in Asia were in the Journal of Occupational Health, and the journal with the highest impact factor was the Journal of Nursing Management. The COVID-19 outbreak caused a substantial shift in the direction of studies on nurses' occupational exposure in Asia. Mental health is a current hot topic, while sharps injuries and bodily fluid exposure are long-term priorities for attention. Conclusions The hotspots of research on nurses' occupational exposure in Asia focus on mental health, burnout, blood exposure, infection, and sharps injury. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, recent research has concentrated on personalized mental health care and the development of protective equipment, and cross-disciplinary collaboration may be a new trend in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of research pertaining to the intersection of rehabilitation and COVID-19 (COV-REH). The main aim of this study is to analyze the thematic progression and hotspots, detect emerging topics, and suggest possible future research directions in the COV-REH. METHODS Appropriate keywords were selected based on the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) PubMed database and the Scopus database were used to retrieve a total of 3746 original studies conducted in the English language. The data extraction was performed on June 30, 2023. VOSviewer and Bibliometrix utilize CVS and BibTex files to facilitate the performance analysis and generate visual maps. The performance indicators reported for the research components of the COV-REH were compiled using the Scopus Analytics tool. RESULTS From 2003 to 2023, 3470 authors from 160 organizations in 119 countries generated 3764 original research documents, with an annual growth of 53.73%. 1467 sources identified these scholarly works. Vitacca, M. (Italy), Harvard University (USA), and the USA published the most articles. This study included 54.1% of medical scholars. Telerehabilitation, exercise, quality of life, case reports, anxiety, and pulmonary rehabilitation were the primary themes of the COV-REH. One component of "telerehabilitation" is now the cardiac rehabilitation cluster. The trending topics in COV-REH are "symptoms," "protocol," and "community-based rehabilitation". CONCLUSIONS This study proposed several significant research directions based on the current thematic map and its evolution. Given that COV-REH investigations have been determined to be multidisciplinary, this study contributes conceptually to several fields and has wide-ranging implications for practitioners and policymakers.

Abstract
Many studies have shown that gut microbiota is closely related to autoimmune diseases (ADs). Studies on gut microbiota and ADs have also increased significantly, but no bibliometric analysis has summarized the association between gut microbiota and ADs. This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric and visual analysis of published studies on gut microbiota and ADs. Based on the Web of Science Core Collection SCI-expanded database, we utilize Excel 2019 and visualization analysis tools VOSviewer and co-occurrence13.2 (COOC13.2) for analysis. A total of 2516 related kinds of literature were included, and the number of papers presented an overall increasing trend. The country/region with the most publications is the USA, the institution is the Harvard Medical School, and the author is Mikael Knip from the USA. Hot research areas include intestinal regulation (such as dysbiosis, short chain fatty acids, and probiotics), multisystem ADs (such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease), and immune-related cells (such as T cells, and dendritic cells). Psoriasis, dysbiosis, autoimmune liver disease, and fecal microbiota transplantation may be the future research direction. Our research results can help researchers grasp the current status of ADs and gut microbiota research and find new research directions in the future.

Abstract
The robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty has gained increasing attention in the research field. To date, no comprehensive bibliometric analysis has been carried out on this topic. The present study aimed to introduce the research status and hotspots and explore the field of robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty from a bibliometric perspective. The Web of Science Core Collection database was utilized to retrieve articles and reviews on robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty published between 1993 and 2023. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, Pajek, and a bibliometric online analysis platform (http://bibliometric.com/) were employed to analyze the regions, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords, aiming to predict the latest trends in research related to robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty. This study encompasses 697 records. The annual publication count pertaining to robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty demonstrates consistent growth. The United States leads with the highest number of studies (298), trailed by the United Kingdom (110) and France (49). The Hospital for Special Surgery emerges as the most prolific institution, while Professor Mont, Michael A holds significant author influence. The Journal of Arthroplasty reigns supreme in this field, boasting the highest publication and citation figures. Funding sources predominantly include Stryker (34), Smith Nephew (19), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (17). Noteworthy research themes within robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty encompass patient satisfaction, kinematic alignment, and clinical benefits. The landscape of robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty research is thriving. Anticipated trajectories of research will be geared toward refining the precision of robotic technology and enhancing clinical outcomes within the realm of robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty.

Abstract
Aims: The study aimed to provide a bibliometric and visual analysis of research on abdominal pain in inflammatory bowel disease and discuss the current status, research hotspots, and future developments. Methods: We used the Web of Science Core Collection to comprehensively search the literature on abdominal pain-related research in IBD published between 2003 and 2022. The bibliometric and visual analysis was performed through CiteSpace, VOSviewer software, R language, and the bibliometric online analysis platform, including authors, institutions, countries, journals, references, and keywords in the literature. Results: A total of 3,503 relevant articles are included, indicating that the number of articles in this field has increased in recent years. The United States leads the way with a dominant position in terms of article output, followed by China and JAPAN. United States (967 articles), University of Calgary (98 articles), and World Journal of Gastroenterology (127 articles) are the top publishing countries, institutions, and journals, respectively; keyword analysis shows that gut microbiota, depression, stress, visceral hypersensitivity, and multidisciplinary approach are the hot spots and trends in this research area. Conclusion: Abdominal pain-related studies in IBD have received increasing attention in the past two decades. This study provides the first bibliometric analysis of papers in this research area using visualization software and data information mining. It provides insights into this field's current status, hot spots, and trends. However, many outstanding issues in this research area still need further exploration to provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application.

Abstract
Tea plant (Camellia sinensis) is a widely cultivated cash crop and tea is a favorite functional food in the world. Fresh tea leaves (FTLs) play a critical role in bridging the two fields closely related to tea cultivation and tea processing, those are, tea plant biology and tea biochemistry. To provide a comprehensive overview of the development stages, authorship collaboration, research topics, and hotspots and their temporal evolution trends in the field of FTLs research, we conducted a bibliometric analysis, based on 971 publications on FTLs-related research published during 2001-2021 from Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, R package Bibliometrix, and VOSviewer were employed in this research. The results revealed that the development history can be roughly divided into three stages, namely initial stage, slow development stage and rapid development stage. Journal of Agricultural & Food Chemistry published most articles in this field, while Frontiers in Plant Science held the highest total citations and h-index. The most influential country, institution, and author in this field was identified as China, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Xiaochun Wan, respectively. FTLs-related research can be categorized into three main topics: the regulation mechanism of key genes, the metabolism and features of essential compounds, and tea plants' growth and stress responses. The most concerning hotspots are the application of advanced technologies, essential metabolites, leaf color variants, and effective cultivation treatments. There has been a shift from basic biochemical and enzymatic studies to studies of molecular mechanisms that depend on multi-omics technologies. We also discussed the future development in this field. This study provides a comprehensive summary of the research field, making it easier for researchers to be informed about its development history, status, and trends.
