Abstract
In response to the high breakage rate of pigeon eggs and the significant labor costs associated with egg-producing pigeon farming, this study proposes an improved YOLOv8-PG (real versus fake pigeon egg detection) model based on YOLOv8n. Specifically, the Bottleneck in the C2f module of the YOLOv8n backbone network and neck network are replaced with Fasternet-EMA Block and Fasternet Block, respectively. The Fasternet Block is designed based on PConv (Partial Convolution) to reduce model parameter count and computational load efficiently. Furthermore, the incorporation of the EMA (Efficient Multi-scale Attention) mechanism helps mitigate interference from complex environments on pigeon-egg feature-extraction capabilities. Additionally, Dysample, an ultra-lightweight and effective upsampler, is introduced into the neck network to further enhance performance with lower computational overhead. Finally, the EXPMA (exponential moving average) concept is employed to optimize the SlideLoss and propose the EMASlideLoss classification loss function, addressing the issue of imbalanced data samples and enhancing the model's robustness. The experimental results showed that the F1-score, mAP50-95, and mAP75 of YOLOv8-PG increased by 0.76%, 1.56%, and 4.45%, respectively, compared with the baseline YOLOv8n model. Moreover, the model's parameter count and computational load are reduced by 24.69% and 22.89%, respectively. Compared to detection models such as Faster R-CNN, YOLOv5s, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8s, YOLOv8-PG exhibits superior performance. Additionally, the reduction in parameter count and computational load contributes to lowering the model deployment costs and facilitates its implementation on mobile robotic platforms.

Abstract
Naphthalene, the most abundant polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in the atmosphere, significantly influences OH consumption and secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation. Naphthoquinone (NQ) is a significant contributor to ring-retaining SOA from naphthalene degradation, impacting the redox properties and toxicity of ambient particles. However, inconsistencies persist regarding concentrations of its isomers, 1,2-NQ and 1,4-NQ. In present work, our theoretical investigation into naphthalene's reaction with OH and subsequent oxygenation unveils their role in SOA formation. The reaction kinetics of initial OH and subsequent O2 oxidation was extensively studied using high-level quantum chemical methods (DLPNO-CCSD(T)/aug-ccpVQZ//M052x-D3/6-311++G(d,p)) combined with RRKM/master equation simulations. The reactions mainly proceed through electrophilic addition and abstraction from the aromatic ring. The total rate coefficient of naphthalene + OH at 300 K and 1 atm from our calculation (7.2 × 10-12 cm3 molecule-1 s-1) agrees well with previous measurements (∼1 × 10-11 cm3 molecule-1 s-1). The computed branching ratios facilitate accurate product yield determination. The largest yield of 1-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl radical (add1) producing the major precursor of RO2 is computed to be 93.8 % in the ambient environment. Our calculated total rate coefficient (5.2 × 10-16 cm3 molecule-1 s-1) for add1 + O2 closely matches that of limited experimental data (8.0 × 10-16 cm3 molecule-1 s-1). Peroxy radicals (RO2) generated from add1 + O2 include 4-cis/trans-(1-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)-peroxy radical (add1-4OOadd-cis/trans, 66.0 %/17.5 %), 2-cis/trans-(1-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)-peroxy radical (add1-2OOadd-cis/trans, 10.3 %/6.3 %). Regarding the debated predominance of 1,4-NQ (corresponding to the parent RO2, i.e., add1-4OOadd-cis/trans) and 1,2-NQ (corresponding to the parent RO2, i.e., add1-2OOadd-cis/trans) in the atmosphere, our findings substantiate the dominance of 1,4-NQ. This study also indicates potential weakening of 1,4-NQ's dominance due to competition from decomposition reactions of add1-4OOadd-cis/trans and add1-2OOadd-cis/trans. Precise reaction kinetics data are essential for characterizing SOA transformation derived from naphthalene and assessing their climatic impacts within modeling frameworks.

Abstract
Carbon emissions from land use change have become one of the main sources of regional carbon emissions. In order to explore the changes, 87 districts and counties in Gansu Province are taken as research objects. Based on the remote sensing data and statistical data of land use, the carbon emission coefficient method was used to investigate the spatial characteristics of land use carbon emission of each district and county in Gansu Province in recent 20 years from the perspective of carbon ecological support coefficient and per capita carbon footprint. The main results are as follows: (1) the growth of land use carbon emissions in Gansu Province from 2000 to 2020 was significant, but the growth of carbon emissions after 2010 was fast, and the growth of carbon sinks was relatively slow. (2) The ecological support coefficient of carbon emissions at county level in Gansu Province showed a trend of high in the south and low in the north, high in the east and low in the west, and this trend became more and more obvious with the passage of time. (3) Based on carbon emission, county population, and carbon ecological support capacity, the per capita carbon footprint of each county in Gansu Province was analyzed. The results showed that the per capita carbon footprint in Gansu Province was increasing, indicating that the gap between carbon emission and carbon absorption in each county was widening. By the above result, the author divides the counties of Gansu Province into three regions, low-carbon maintenance area, green development area, and ecological optimization area, and puts forward development suggestions for different regions, respectively. Therefore, this paper can also provide a theoretical reference for the formulation of carbon neutral planning measures in inland northwest China.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the effectiveness of a 6-month Ba Duan Jin exercise program in improving the balance of community-dwelling older adults. Methods: A two arms, parallel-group, cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted in 1 028 community residents aged 60-80 years in 40 communities in 5 provinces of China. Participants in the intervention group (20 communities, 523 people) received Ba Duan Jin exercise 5 days/week, 1 hour/day for 6 months, and three times of falls prevention health education, and the control group (20 communities, 505 people) received falls prevention health education same as the intervention group. The Berg balance scale (BBS) score was the leading outcome indicator, and the secondary outcome indicators included the length of time of standing on one foot (with eyes open and closed), standing in a tandem stance (with eyes open and closed), the closed circle test, and the timed up to test. Results: A total of 1 028 participants were included in the final analysis, including 731 women (71.11%) and 297 men (28.89%), and the age was (69.87±5.67) years. After the 3-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 3.05 (95%CI: 2.23-3.88) points (P<0.001). After the 6-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 4.70 (95%CI: 4.03-5.37) points (P<0.001). Ba Duan Jin showed significant improvement (P<0.05) in all secondary outcomes after 6 months of exercise in the intervention group compared with the control group. Conclusions: This study showed that Ba Duan Jin exercise can improve balance in community-dwelling older adults aged 60-80. The longer the exercise time, the better the improvement.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Early detection of cognitive impairment is essential for timely intervention. Currently, most widely used cognitive screening tests are influenced by language and cultural differences; therefore, there is a need for the development of a language-neutral, visual-based cognitive assessment tool. The Visual Cognitive Assessment Test (VCAT), a 30-point test that assesses memory, executive function, visuospatial function, attention, and language, has demonstrated its utility in a multilingual population. In this study, we evaluated the reliability, validity, and diagnostic performance of the VCAT for screening early cognitive impairment in Chongqing, China METHODS: A total of 134 individuals (49 healthy controls (HCs), 52 with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and 33 with mild dementia) completed the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), VCAT, and domain-specific neuropsychological assessments. The diagnostic performances of MMSE, MoCA, and VCAT were evaluated using the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity. Construct validity of the VCAT was assessed with well-established domain-specific cognitive assessments. Reliability was measured using Cronbach's alpha. RESULTS The VCAT and its subdomains demonstrated both good construct validity and internal consistency (α = 0.577). The performance of VCAT was comparable to that of MoCA and MMSE in differentiating mild dementia from nondemented groups (AUC: 0.940 vs. 0.902 and 0.977, respectively; p = .098 and .053) and in distinguishing cognitive impairment (CI) from HC (AUC: 0.929 vs. 0.899 and 0.891, respectively; p = .239 and .161), adjusted for education level. The optimal score range for VCAT in determining dementia, MCI, and HC was 0-14, 15-19, and 20-30, respectively. CONCLUSION The VCAT proves to be a reliable screening test for early cognitive impairment within our cohort. Being both language and cultural neutral, the VCAT has the potential to be utilized among a wider population within China.

Abstract
In the background of the greenhouse effect, drought events occurred more frequently. How to monitor drought events scientifically and efficiently is very urgent at present. In this study, we employed the Vegetation Water Supply Index (VSWI), Temperature Vegetation Drought Index (TVDI), and Crop Water Stress Index (CWSI) as individual variables to construct a composite drought index (CDI) using spatial principal component analysis (SPCA). The validity of CDI was assessed using gross primary productivity (GPP), soil moisture (SM), Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), and Vegetation Condition Index (VCI). CDI was subsequently used for drought monitoring in northern China from 2011 to 2020. The results showed that (1) at a 99% confidence level, the Pearson correlation coefficients between CDI and GPP was 0.72, while the value between CDI and SM was 0.69, which indicated the relationship between SM, GPP, and CDI was significant. (2) We compared CDI with other variables such as Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) and Crop Drought Index (CDI) and found that the monitoring result of CDI was more sensitive, which indicated that the proposed CDI had a better effect in local drought monitoring. (3) The results of CDI showed that the drought status in the northern region during 2011-2020 lasted from March to October, and the high severe drought period generally occurs in March-May and September-October, with low severe drought in June-August.

Abstract
How to evaluate the change characteristics of energy carbon emissions (ECE) and vegetation carbon absorption (VCA) by scientific methods is particularly important for achieving carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Based on provincial-level energy consumption data, nighttime light data, and population data, this study realized spatial simulation of energy carbon emissions and analyzed the change characteristics of energy carbon emissions (ECE) and vegetation carbon absorption (VCA) combined with the net primary productivity (NPP)of vegetation. Besides, the relationship between energy carbon emissions, vegetation carbon absorption, and economic development was also analyzed at an urban scale. The results showed that (1) the total ECE increased from 4.34 billion tons in 2000 to 14.43 billion tons in 2019, but the growth rate of ECE decreased from 15.9% during 2000-2010 to 3.1% during 2010-2019. The VCA capacity has been increasing year by year. In 2019, it could absorb 1.56 billion tons more carbon dioxide than in 2000 with an increase of 16.1%. (2) Through the identification of the increasing and decreasing regions of ECE and VCA, it was found that the continuous rise area of ECE accounts for 0.5% of the study area; the area of fluctuating rise accounted for 6.7% of the study area. The area of continuous decline of VCA accounted for 0.2% of the study area; the area of fluctuating decline accounted for 49.6% of the study area. (3) The eastern China accounted for 42% of ECE and 17% of VCA with 11.4% of land, while the western region accounted for 26% of ECE and 55% of VCA with 66.6% of land, which indicated that there were significant differences in the characteristics of carbon budget between the eastern China and the western region. (4) The carbon pressure index (CPI) of most cities was on the rise, but the carbon efficiency index (CEI) was also on the rise, and cities were developing towards the model of low energy consumption and high output value. In a word, the growth rate of ECE is slowing down, and the VCA capacity is increasing. In the process of promoting carbon neutrality, we should be aware of the different resource endowments of different regions, realize the actual role of each region in carbon neutrality and economic development, and allocate carbon neutrality tasks differently.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to compare the pre- and post-operative vestibular and equilibrium functions of patients with cholesteatoma-induced labyrinthine fistulas who underwent different management methods. METHODS Data from 49 patients with cholesteatoma-induced labyrinthine fistulas who underwent one of three surgical procedures were retrospectively analysed. The three management options were fistula repair, obliteration and canal occlusion. RESULTS Patients underwent fistula repair (n = 8), canal occlusion (n = 18) or obliteration procedures (n = 23). Patients in the fistula repair and canal occlusion groups suffered from post-operative vertigo and imbalance, which persisted for longer than in those in the obliteration group. Despite receiving different management strategies, all patients achieved complete recovery of equilibrium functions through persistent efforts in rehabilitation exercises. CONCLUSION Complete removal of the cholesteatoma matrix overlying the fistula is reliable for preventing iatrogenic hearing deterioration due to unremitting labyrinthitis. Thus, among the three fistula treatments, obliteration is the optimal method for preserving post-operative vestibular functions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Increasing number of studies reported the positive effect of metformin on the prevention and treatment of cancers. However, the genetic causal effect of metformin utilization on the risk of common cancers was not completely demonstrated. METHODS Two-sample Mendelian Randomization (two-sample MR) analysis was conducted to uncover the genetically predicted causal association between metformin use and 26 kinds of cancers. Besides, two-step Mendelian Randomization (two-step MR) assessment was applied to clarify the mediators which mediated the causal effect of metformin on certain cancer. We utilized five robust analytical methods, in which the inverse variance weighting (IVW) method served as the major one. Sensitivity, pleiotropy, and heterogeneity were assessed. The genetic statistics of exposure, outcomes, and mediators were downloaded from publicly available datasets, including the Open Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), FinnGen consortium (FinnGen), and UK Biobank (UKB). RESULTS Among 26 kinds of common cancers, HER-positive breast cancer was presented with a significant causal relationship with metformin use [Beta: - 4.0982; OR: 0.0166 (95% CI: 0.0008, 0.3376); P value: 0.0077], which indicated metformin could prevent people from HER-positive breast cancer. Other cancers only showed modest associations with metformin use. Potential mediators were included in two-step MR, among which total testosterone levels (mediating effect: 24.52%) displayed significant mediating roles. Leave-one-out, MR-Egger, and MR-PRESSO analyses produced consistent outcomes. CONCLUSION Metformin use exhibited a genetically protective effect on HER-positive breast cancer, which was partially mediated by total testosterone levels.

Abstract
PURPOSE In diagnosing the pathogenesis of Graves' orbitopathy (GO), there is a growing interest in fibrosis generated by orbital fibroblasts (OFs); nevertheless, the involvement of ceruloplasmin (CP) in OFs remains unknown. METHODS Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified through bioinformatic analysis. OFs were isolated from orbital tissue and identified with immunofluorescent staining. The levels of DEGs were validated in GO tissue samples and TGF-β-challenged OFs, and CP was selected for the following laboratory investigations. CP overexpression or knockdown was achieved, and cell viability and fibrosis-associated proteins were investigated to assess the cell phenotype and function. Signaling pathways were subsequently investigated to explore the mechanism of CP function in OFs. RESULTS CP and cathepsin C (CTSC) are two overlapped DEGs in GSE58331 and GSE105149. OFs were isolated and identified through fibrotic biomarkers. CP and CTSC were downregulated in GO tissue samples and TGF-β-challenged OFs. CP overexpression or knockdown was achieved in OFs by transducing a CP overexpression vector or small interfering RNA against CP (si1-CP or si2-CP) and verified using a qRT-PCR. CP overexpression inhibited cell viability and reduced the levels of α-SMA, vimentin, fibronectin, and collagen I, whereas CP knockdown exerted opposite effects on OFs. CP overexpression inhibited the phosphorylation of Smad3, Erk1/2, p38, JNK, and AKT; conversely, CP knockdown exerted opposite effects on the phosphorylation of factors mentioned above. CONCLUSION CP was downregulated in GO and suppressed the expression of fibrosis-associated proteins in both GO and normal OFs. CP might serve as a promising therapeutic agent in the treatment regimens for GO.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study is to investigate how cognition is affected by asymptomatic cerebral artery stenosis (CAS) of the anterior circulation and its related collateral circulation. METHODS 102 patients with CAS of the anterior circulation and 52 controls were enrolled from January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Patients with CAS of anterior circulation were further divided into different subgroups according to the degree of stenosis, cerebral perfusion, and collateral circulation. A series of neuropsychological scales were used to evaluate the participant's cognitive function, activities of daily living, and neuropsychiatric symptoms (such as memory, execution, psychomotor speed, etc.). The data were analyzed using T-test, F-test, chi-square test, rank sum test, and other statistical methods, moreover, the quantitative data were further examined for trends. The relationship between the degree of CAS, cerebral perfusion, collateral circulation, and the outcome of the cognitive test was investigated using Spearman correlation analysis. RESULTS Compared to controls, there were severe impairments of global cognition, psychomotor speed/execution, memory, attention, activities of daily living, and more neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with anterior circulation CAS (p < 0.05), and these impairments got worsened with the aggravation of CAS (p < 0.05). The global cognition, psychomotor speed / executive function, memory function, and daily living ability were impaired both in the cerebral perfusion-compensated group and decompensated group(p < 0.05), while there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p > 0.05). With the aggravation of CAS, the proportion of poor collateral formation increased, and this difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). The degree of stenosis, cerebral perfusion, and collateral circulation establishment of anterior circulation CAS was correlated with global cognition, memory, psychomotor speed, execution, attention, activities of daily living, and neuropsychiatric symptoms (all p < 0.01). CONCLUSION Cognitive impairment and the percentage of inadequate collateral circulation development rise as stenosis progresses in patients with anterior circulation CAS. The decline in global cognitive function was accompanied by impairments in psychomotor speed / executive function, memory function, attention, and daily living skills, as well as the aggravation of neuropsychiatric symptoms, especially in patients with impaired cerebral perfusion and poor collateral circulation formation.

Abstract
Reasonable planning of the limited land resources can promote the coordinated development of social economic and ecological protection. It is very important to optimize the rational distribution of land resources in the arid inland river basin because of the scarce land. In this paper, the GIS technologies of spatial analysis, conversion of land use, and its effects at small regional extent (CLUE-S) and minimum cumulative resistance (MCR) model were used to optimize the land allocation. The ecological security pattern (ESP) was constructed through using MCR model, which included ecological source and resistance surface. The dynamics of land use and spatial optimizing allocation of Shiyang River Basin in 2025 and 2030 was simulated under three different optimization scenarios including farmland protection scenario (FPS), free development scenario (FDS), and ecological security pattern scenario (ESPS). It was found that under ESPS, farmland was reduced, but woodland, grassland, and water body were increased significantly. Under FPS, land for construction was controlled effectively, a large part of homestead was converted into farmland, and the potential of unused land was developed vigorously. Furthermore, the current FDS and macro policy guidance should be comprehensively considered. The ESPS was more suitable for the scientific development of Shiyang River Basin on a long view. The combination of CLUE-S and MCR can effectively improve the optimization methods under ecological process and ecological resistance of landscape elements.

Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection can cause persistent inflammatory response in human gastric mucosal epithelial cells, which may result in the occurrence of cancer. However, the underlying mechanism of carcinogenesis has not been elucidated yet. Herein, we established the models of chronic H. pylori infection in GES-1 cells and C57BL/6J mice. Interleukin 8 (IL-8) level was detected by ELISA. The expression of NF-κB p65, IL-8, Wnt2 and β-catenin mRNA and proteins was evaluated by real-time PCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and immunohistochemistry. The infection of H. pylori in mice was evaluated by rapid urease test, H&E staining and Warthin-Starry silver staining. The morphological changes of gastric mucosa were observed by electron microscopy. Our results showed that in H. pylori infected gastric mucosal cells along with activation of NF-κB signaling pathway and increase of IL-8 level, the expression of Wnt2 was also increased significantly, which preliminarily indicates that IL-8 can positively regulate the expression of Wnt2. Studies in chronic H. pylori infected C57BL/6J mice models showed that there was an increased incidence of premalignant lesions in the gastric mucosa tissue. Through comparing changes of gastric mucosal cell ultrastructure and analyzing the relationship between NF-κB signaling pathway and Wnt2 expression, we found that H. pylori infection activated NF-κB signal pathways, and the massive release of IL-8 was positively correlated with the high expression of Wnt2 protein. Subsequently, the activated Wnt/β-catenin signal pathways may be involved in the malignant transformation of gastric mucosal cells. Collectively, H. pylori chronic infection may continuously lead to persistent inflammatory response: activate NF-κB pathway, promote IL-8 release and thereby activate Wnt/β-catenin pathway. IL-8 probably plays an important role of a linker in coupling these two signal pathways.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ for improving renal function and pathology in rats with 5/6 nephrectomy and analyze its therapeutic mechanism for renal fibrosis in chronic kidney disease using network pharmacology combined with molecular docking. METHODS Forty male SD rats were randomized into two groups to receive two-staged 5/6 nephrectomy (n=30) or sham operation (n=10), and 2 weeks after the final operation, serum creatinine level of the rats was measured. The rats with nephrectomy were further randomized into Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ group, losartan group and model group for daily treatment with the corresponding drugs via gavage starting at 1 week after 5/6 nephrectomy. After 16 weeks of treatment, serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels of the rats were measured, and HE staining and Western blotting were used to examine the changes in renal pathology and fibrosis-related factors. Network pharmacology combined with molecular docking study was performed to explore the therapeutic mechanism Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ against renal fibrosis in chronic kidney disease, and Western blotting was used to verify the expressions of the core targets. RESULTS Compared with those in the model group, the rats receiving 5/6 nephrectomy and Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ treatment showed significantly reduced serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels, lessened renal pathologies, and improvement of the changes in epithelial mesenchymal transition-related proteins. Network pharmacological analysis showed that the main active ingredients of Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ were acacetin, apigenin, eupatilin, quercetin, kaempferol and luteolin, and the key targets included STAT3, SRC, CTNNB1, PIK3R1 and AKT1. Molecular docking study revealed that the active ingredients of Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ had good binding activity to the key targets. Western blotting showed that in rats with 5/6 nephrectomy, treatment with Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ obviously restored the protein expression of STAT3, PI3K, and AKT in renal tissue. CONCLUSION Shenbing Decoction Ⅲ can reduce renal injury induced by 5/6 nephrectomy in rats, and its therapeutic effects are mediated possibly by its main pharmacologically active ingredients that alleviate renal fibrosis via modulating multiple targets including STAT3, PIK3R1, and AKT1.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Altered expressions of genes in immune cells and synovial tissues are involved in the pathology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Long noncoding RNAs act as competing endogenous RNAs and can cause immune disorders. The goal of this study was to reveal the association between noncoding RNA linc00324 and RA, and a plausible action mechanism was proposed. METHODS RT-qPCR was used to evaluate the expression of linc00324 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from 50 RA patients and 50 healthy controls, and the correlations between linc00324 level and the clinical indicators were analyzed. Flow cytometry was used to characterize CD4+ T cells. The effects of linc00324 on cytokine production and cell proliferation of CD4+ T cells were evaluated by ELISA assay and Western blot. The interaction between linc00324 and miR-10a-5p was investigated by RNA immunoprecipitation and dual-luciferase assays. RESULTS The linc00324 expression was significantly enhanced in RA patients, and linc00324 expression was positively correlated with rheumatoid factor and CD4+ T cells. Overexpression of linc00324 promoted CD4+ T cells proliferation, and enhanced chemokine MIP-1α secretion and NF-κB phosphorylation level, whereas knockout of linc00324 blocked CD4+ T cell proliferation and NF-κB phosphorylation. Overexpression of miR-10a-5p led to the decrease of CD4+ T cells proliferation and NF-κB phosphorylation, and reversed the effects of linc00324 on cell proliferation and NF-κB activity. CONCLUSION Linc00324 was upregulated in RA and may exaggerate inflammation by targeting miR-10a-5p through NF-κB signaling pathway.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Scrub typhus is an increasingly serious public health problem, which is becoming the most common vector-borne disease in Guangzhou. This study aimed to analyse the correlation between scrub typhus incidence and potential factors and rank the importance of influential factors. METHODS We collected monthly scrub typhus cases, meteorological variables, rodent density (RD), Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and land use type in Guangzhou from 2006 to 2019. Correlation analysis and a random forest model were used to identify the risk factors for scrub typhus and predict the importance rank of influencing factors related to scrub typhus incidence. RESULTS The epidemiological results of the scrub typhus cases in Guangzhou between 2006 and 2019 showed that the incidence rate was on the rise. The results of correlation analysis revealed that a positive relationship between scrub typhus incidence and meteorological factors of mean temperature (Tmean ), accumulative rainfall (RF), relative humidity (RH), sunshine hours (SH), and NDVI, RD, population density, and green land coverage area (all p < 0.001). Additionally, we tested the relationship between the incidence of scrub typhus and the lagging meteorological factors through cross-correlation function, and found that incidence was positively correlated with 1-month lag Tmean , 2-month lag RF, 2-month lag RH, and 6-month lag SH (all p < 0.001). Based on the random forest model, we found that the Tmean was the most important predictor among the influential factors, followed by NDVI. CONCLUSIONS Meteorological factors, NDVI, RD, and land use type jointly affect the incidence of scrub typhus in Guangzhou. Our results provide a better understanding of the influential factors correlated with scrub typus, which can improve our capacity for biological monitoring and help public health authorities to formulate disease control strategies.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the present situation of pelvic floor muscle strength, and to analyze the factors affecting pelvic floor muscle strength. Methods: The data of patients who were admitted into the general outpatient department of gynecology, Peking University People's Hospital from October 2021 to April 2022 were collected, and the patients who met the exclusion criteria were included in this cross sectional study. The patient's age, height, weight, education level, defecation way and defecation time, birth history, maximum newborn birth weight, occupational physical activity, sedentary time, menopause, family history and disease history were recorded by questionnaire. Morphological indexes such as waist circumference, abdomen circumference and hip circumference were measured with tape measure. Handgrip strength level was measured with grip strength instrument. After performing routine gynecological examinations, the pelvic floor muscle strength was evaluated by palpation with modified Oxford grading scale (MOS). MOS grade>3 was taken as normal group and ≤3 as decreased group. Binary logistic regression was used to investigate the related factors of deceased pelvic floor muscle strength. Results: A total of 929 patients were included in the study, and the average MOS grade was 2.8±1.2. By univariate analysis, birth history, menopausal time, defecation time, handgrip strength level, waist circumference and abdominal circumference were related to the decrease of pelvic floor muscle strength (all P<0.05). By binary logistic regression analysis, the level of handgrip strength (OR=0.913, 95%CI: 0.883-0.945; P<0.001) was correlated with normal pelvic floor muscle strength; waist circumference (OR=1.025, 95%CI: 1.005-1.046; P=0.016), birth history (OR=2.224, 95%CI: 1.570-3.149; P<0.001), sedentary time> 8 hours (OR=2.073, 95%CI: 1.198-3.587; P=0.009) were associated with the decrease of pelvic floor muscle strength. Conclusions: The level of handgrip strength is related to the normal pelvic floor muscle strength of females, while the waist circumference, birth history and sedentary time>8 hours are related to the decrease of pelvic floor muscle strength of females. In order to prevent the decrease of pelvic floor muscle strength, it is necessary to carry out relevant health education, enhance exercise, improve the overall strength level, reduce daily sedentary time, maintain symmetry, and carry out comprehensive overall intervention to improve pelvic floor muscle function.

Abstract
Background Many existing studies indicated that patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), tend to have the risk of low total body bone mineral density (BMD), and are more likely to have osteoporosis (OS). To determine the causal relationship between IBD and bone metabolic disorders, we herein performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis (TSMR) using publicly available summary statistics. Methods Summary statistics of total body BMD, OS and IBD were downloaded from the Open Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), FinnGen consortium and International Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium (IIBDGC). The European and East Asian populations have consisted in this Mendelian Randomization (MR) work. A range of quality control procedures were taken to select eligible instrument SNPs closely associated with total body BMD, OS and IBD. To make the conclusions more reliable, we applied five robust analytical methods, among which the inverse variance weighting (IVW) method acted as the major method. Besides, heterogeneity, pleiotropy and sensitivity were evaluated. Results In the European population, the genetic association of UC on total body BMD (OR=0.97, 95%CI=0.96,0.99, P<0.001) and overall IBD on total body BMD (OR=0.98, 95%CI=0.97,1.00, P=0.013) were significant, while the effect of CD on total body BMD was not significant enough (OR=0.99, 95%CI=0.98,1.00, P=0.085). All of UC, CD and overall IBD can be the genetic risk factor of having OS with pathological fracture (UC: OR=1.13, 95%CI=1.02,1.26, P=0.024, CD: OR=1.14, 95%CI=1.05,1.25, P=0.003, overall IBD: OR=1.13, 95%CI=1.02,1.24, P=0.015). In East Asian groups, only CD had a causal relationship with OS (OR=1.04, 95% CI=1.01,1.07, P=0.019). Conclusion Our study revealed genetically predicted associations between IBD on total body BMD and OS in European and East Asian populations. This work supplemented the results of previous retrospective studies and demonstrated the necessity of BMD monitoring in patients with IBD.

Abstract
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) encompasses a spectrum of pathologies that includes steatosis, steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis and is strongly associated with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Changes in mitochondrial function are implicated in the pathogenesis of NAFLD, particularly in the transition from steatosis to NASH. Mitophagy is a mitochondrial quality control mechanism that allows for the selective removal of damaged mitochondria from the cell via the autophagy pathway. While past work demonstrated a negative association between liver fat content and rates of mitophagy, when changes in mitophagy occur during the pathogenesis of NAFLD and whether such changes contribute to the primary endpoints associated with the disease are currently poorly defined. We therefore undertook the studies described here to establish when alterations in mitophagy occur during the pathogenesis of NAFLD, as well as to determine the effects of genetic inhibition of mitophagy via conditional deletion of a key mitophagy regulator, PARKIN, on the development of steatosis, insulin resistance, inflammation and fibrosis. We find that loss of mitophagy occurs early in the pathogenesis of NAFLD and that loss of PARKIN accelerates the onset of key NAFLD disease features. These observations suggest that loss of mitochondrial quality control in response to nutritional stress may contribute to mitochondrial dysfunction and the pathogenesis of NAFLD.

Abstract
The recent remarkable success and safety of mRNA lipid nanoparticle technology for producing severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines has stimulated intensive efforts to expand nanoparticle strategies to treat various diseases. Numerous synthetic nanoparticles have been developed for pharmaceutical delivery and cancer treatment. However, only a limited number of nanotherapies have enter clinical trials or are clinically approved. Systemically administered nanotherapies are likely to be sequestered by host mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS), resulting in suboptimal pharmacokinetics and insufficient drug concentrations in tumors. Bioinspired drug-delivery formulations have emerged as an alternative approach to evade the MPS and show potential to improve drug therapeutic efficacy. Here we developed a biodegradable polymer-conjugated camptothecin prodrug encapsulated in the plasma membrane of lipopolysaccharide-stimulated macrophages. Polymer conjugation revived the parent camptothecin agent (e.g., 7-ethyl-10-hydroxy-camptothecin), enabling lipid nanoparticle encapsulation. Furthermore, macrophage membrane cloaking transformed the nonadhesive lipid nanoparticles into bioadhesive nanocamptothecin, increasing the cellular uptake and tumor-tropic effects of this biomimetic therapy. When tested in a preclinical murine model of breast cancer, macrophage-camouflaged nanocamptothecin exhibited a higher level of tumor accumulation than uncoated nanoparticles. Furthermore, intravenous administration of the therapy effectively suppressed tumor growth and the metastatic burden without causing systematic toxicity. Our study describes a combinatorial strategy that uses polymeric prodrug design and cell membrane cloaking to achieve therapeutics with high efficacy and low toxicity. This approach might also be generally applicable to formulate other therapeutic candidates that are not compatible or miscible with biomimetic delivery carriers. Macrophage membrane-biomimetic platform was exploited for nanodelivery of polycaprolactone nanocamptothecin. Macrophage-camouflaged nanocamptothecin exhibited tumor-tropic effects and increased tumor cell adhesion. The nanotherapy effectively suppressed primary tumor growth and the metastatic burden in vivo.

Abstract
Drought is the most widespread natural disaster in the world. How to monitor regional drought scientifically and accurately has become a hot topic for many scholars. In this paper, Geographically Integrated Dryness Index (GIDI) was integrated from an assortment source including Precipitation Condition Index (PCI), Temperature Condition Index (TCI), Soil Moisture Condition Index (SMCI), Vegetation Condition Index (VCI), and Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) (as the dependent variable) based on geographically weighted regression method. Besides, the comprehensive drought situation and changing trends in China from 2001 to 2019 were also examined. The results showed that (1) GIDI has excellent performance in monitoring medium- and long-term droughts and the monitoring results shows 2003, 2016, and 2019 were relatively wet years, while 2007, 2009, and 2011 were major drought years, and spring and March were the most frequent droughts season and month, respectively, and (2) except for the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River and Northeastern China, which have a tendency to become wet, other places have a tendency to fluctuating dry. This study took advantage of simple and efficient methods to integrate existing indices to obtain a new index for monitoring a wider range of droughts, taking into account the physical mechanism of drought formation and the time scale of drought development, so it can scientifically evaluate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of drought and changes.

Abstract
The isotropic and anisotropic component Raman spectra and H NMR of N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP)/carbon tetrachloride and NMP/methanol binary mixture at different volume fractions have been collected. The polarization Raman frequencies and frequency differences of CO stretching vibration for NMP/methanol mixture show unique concentration-dependence and abrupt jump feature. It is found that the H-bond between solute and solvent does not destroy the noncoincidence (NCE) phenomenon, but has a significant synergistic effect on the NCE. Two distinctive clusters constrained by H-bond and intermolecular interactions were easily determined by means of linear extension method from abrupt jump curve. The experimental phenomena can be well explained by aggregation-induced splitting theory with the proposed dimer structure and H-bond cluster model. Applying the same methodology the conformation of NMP in water has been determined successfully. The establishment of this method will play an important role in the determination of biomolecule aggregation behavior and supramolecular self-assembly structure.

Abstract
In recent years, remote sensing drought monitoring indices have been gradually developed and have been widely used for global or regional drought monitoring due to their strong drought-monitoring capabilities and easy implementation advantages. However, some defects of remote sensing drought indices stand to be improved due to certain errors in the inversion of surface characteristics by remote sensing datasets. The temperature-vegetation-precipitation drought index (TVPDI) was taken as the research object, and the leaf area index (LAI), the difference between the land surface temperature (LST) and monthly average temperature, and Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) precipitation data were selected instead of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), LST and tropical rainfall measuring mission (TRMM) data to improve TVPDI. The improved remote sensing drought index was named the improved temperature-vegetation-precipitation drought index (iTVPDI). The drought-monitoring accuracy of iTVPDI was verified by the gross primary productivity (GPP), soil moisture, and crop yield per unit. The drought-monitoring ability of iTVPDI was verified with traditional drought indices, including the standardized precipitation index (SPI), standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index (SPEI), Palmer drought severity index (PDSI), temperature-vegetation drought index (TVDI), drought severity index (DSI) and crop water stress index (CWSI). The drought-monitoring accuracy of iTVPDI was verified by selecting sample areas. iTVPDI was applied to monitor drought in mainland China over the 2001-2020 period and obtained four main results. First, the correlation analyses of iTVPDI and TVPDI with GPP, crop yield per unit area, and soil moisture showed that iTVPDI had a stronger monitoring ability in Northeast, North, and Southwest China; the R2 value obtained with soil moisture was 0.62 (p < 0.05), and this value was higher than that of TVPDI. Then, the correlation analyses of iTVPDI and TVPDI with SPI, SPEI, PDSI, CWSI, DSI and TVDI showed that the correlation coefficients of iTVPDI and TVPDI with these six indicators were basically consistent, which indicated that the drought-monitoring capability of iTVPDI was consistent with that of TVPDI. In local areas such as the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China, the monitoring ability of iTVPDI was stronger than that of TVPDI. Third, through the sample area analysis, iTVPDI was found to moderate the NDVI-characterized vegetation factors in TVPDI in low-vegetation-cover areas affected by soil disturbances and in high-vegetation-cover areas affected by oversaturation. Finally, the results obtained from the application of iTVPDI in mainland China showed that during the warm-dry to warm-wet climate transition between 2001 and 2021, in 2010 and 2018, and in other special drought years, iTVPDI had the best response.

Abstract
Coupling urea oxidation reaction (UOR) with hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is an attractive alternative anode reaction for electrochemical hydrogen generation with low energy consumption. However, the development of highly efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts is still a challenge. In this work, Ni2 Se3 -CuSex heterostructure was synthesized on copper foam (Ni3 Se2 @CuSex /CF) by electrodeposition accompanied by a selenization process. Benefiting from the abundant active sites, faster reaction kinetics, and modulated electronic structure, the self-supporting Ni3 Se2 @CuSex /CF electrode exhibited superior catalytic performance. Extremely low overpotentials of 120 and 140 mV were achieved at the current density of 100 mA cm-2 for HER/UOR, respectively. Respectively, in HER||UOR coupled electrolyzer for H2 generation, the Ni3 Se2 @CuSex /CF||Ni3 Se2 @CuSex /CF delivered a low cell voltage of 1.49 V to reach a high current density of 100 mA cm-2 along with good stability, outperforming most of the other well-developed materials to date. The rational design of coupled heterostructure as bifunctional electrodes is a promising approach for energy-saving H2 production.

Abstract
Summary
For efficient use of available synthesised nematicides, bioassay-guided analysis is required to understand the behaviours of nematicides. In this study, the key nematicides on the market, including avermectin B1a, avermectin B2a, emamectin benzoate, fluensulfone, fluopyram and fosthiazate, were evaluated by both in vitro and in planta approaches with optimised solvent and nematode inoculum. We found that acetone was the only one of the six solvents tested safe for both root-knot nematode (RKN) second-stage juveniles (J2) and cucumber at the tested concentration. The optimal numbers of RKN J2 for inoculation on cucumber seedlings in the glass-tube assay, cup assay and microplot experiment were 200, 700 and 1250, respectively. No obvious phytotoxicity symptoms were observed in the in planta assays for all nematicides selected at the tested concentration in the soil drench application. When the substrate changed from pure sand to matrix-sand, the EC50 and EC90 of all six nematicides increased. Among them, fluopyram rose the most. In the microplot experiment, avermectin B2a showed the lowest EC50 but the EC90 of avermectin B2a, fluensulfone, fluopyram and fosthiazate were similar. The results are useful as a guide to the application of commonly used nematicides in the field.

Abstract
Objective: To explore clinicopathological features of low-grade oncocytic tumor (LOT) of the kidney and to analyze its relationship to hybrid oncocytic/chromophobe tumor (HOCT) of the kidney, renal oncocytoma (RO), and chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (chRCC). Methods: Seven LOTs were identified from the pathologic archives of two hospitals, including Xiangya Hospital (5 cases) and the Second Xiangya Hospital (2 cases) of Central South University between 2012 and 2019. Clinical data of the LOTs were collected. The tumor morphology was analyzed and immunohistochemistry was performed. Results: All LOTs occurred in adults, aged from 49 to 72 years (median 56.0 years, mean 60.7 years). The tumor size ranged from 2.5 to 6.0 cm (median 4.3 cm, mean 4.3 cm). There were three male and four female patients. Three cases occurred in the left kidney and four in the right. All the tumors were solitary lesions without the clinicopathologic background of Birt-Hogg-Dubé (BHD) syndrome or oncocytosis. Five patients had available follow-up data (follow-up period 23-95 months, median 69.0 months, mean 64.6 months) and all were alive without disease. Microscopically, all LOTs were well-circumscribed (7/7). Three LOTs were partly encapsulated. The tumors demonstrated a predominant growth pattern comprising prominently compact small nests surrounded by delicately branching thin-walled blood vessels, imparting an organoid architecture (7/7), but variable numbers of glandular or gland-like structures were often seen among the small nests (7/7). There were frequently areas with loose, edematous stroma, and the tumor cells exhibited reticular, trabecular, or single cell arrangements (6/7). Focal hemorrhage was also commonly present in both compact and loose areas (5/7). In addition, focally cystic formation and ossification occurred in the compact area of one case and in the loose area of another case. The tumor cells in LOT showed intermediate cytologic characteristics between RO and chRCC, including abundantly eosinophilic granular cytoplasm, ovoid to round nuclei with mostly smooth contours, discernable small nucleoli (RO features), frequently delicate perinuclear halos, and occasional binucleation (chRCC features). The tumors were typically CK7-positive and CD117-negative (7/7), and variable staining for PAX8 (5/7), P504s (2/7), and vimentin (1/7). They were negative for CK20, CD10 and FOXI1. All tumors retained SDHB immunostaining. Conclusions: LOT is a rare and indolent oncocytic renal tumor with homogeneously intermediate cytologic features between RO and chRCC. There are some clinicopathologic overlaps between LOT and sporadic HOCT. The distinctive morphology and immunophenotype of LOT suggest that it is potentially a distinct tumor entity.

Abstract
Signal, accuracy, and real-time performance of satellite, radar, and machine vision is a subject of concern in various complex agricultural environments. Therefore, the demand for a robust navigation sensor for indoor and vertical agricultural environment remains crucial, and it is a significant subject. In view of this, the relative edge pose detection method based on the ideal target band principle of the lateral center arc array, in this research, a small integrated arc array navigation sensor module based on adaptive detection arc technology, is developed, which costs about $100, autonomous edge navigation position, and attitude detection is realized in facility agriculture environment with continuous structured corridor or roadside features. In this research, a coupling method of reducing the radius of distance sensor arrangement, adjusting the unequal center angle, and increasing the detection distance is used to realize the miniaturization of the arc array arrangement. A semicircular modular rocket was designed to slide and adjust the center angle of the distance sensor, and the longitudinal installation position of the modularized sensor was adjusted by translating the circular arc of the detection; the convenient moving arrangement under different vehicle width and detection arc characteristics is realized. An adaptive construction method of detecting a circular arc based on self-calibrating detection distance of a distance sensor is proposed, which effectively reduces the difficulty of arranging the lateral central circular arc array; the fast construction of lateral detection arc is realized. In addition, in order to improve the accuracy and stability of the pose detection, the Mahalanobis distance algorithm and the standard Kalman filter are used to optimize the estimation of the ranging information and the relative pose of the edge. The experimental results show that the small integrated arc array navigation sensor module can independently construct photoelectric detection arcs with different characteristics to detect the position and attitude of the relative edge. When the road surface is concave and convex, the small integrated arc array navigation sensor module can still maintain the stable position and attitude detection of the relative edge for more than 30 s. In addition, when the walking speed of the autonomous navigation platform is 0.15 m/s to 0.35 m/s, the detection errors of lateral deviation and heading deviation relative to the road edge are less than 40 mm and 4.5°, respectively. The small integrated arc array navigation sensor module is less affected by the change of operating speed, and still has good accuracy and stability. The results show that the modularized edge navigation sensor has the advantages of fast and convenient use, high accuracy, and low cost; it can be applied to autonomous edge navigation control in greenhouse and plant and animal factories.

Abstract
Hydroxyaromatic compounds (ArOHs) have a wide range of applications in catalytic synthesis and biological processes due to their increased acidity upon photo-excitation. The proton transfer of ArOHs via the excited singlet state has been extensively studied. However, there has still been a debate on the unique type of ArOH that can undergo an ultrafast intersystem crossing. The nitro group in p-nitrophenylphenol (NO2-Bp-OH) enhances the spin-orbit coupling between excited singlet states and the triplet manifold, enabling ultrafast intersystem crossing and the formation of the long-lived lowest excited triplet state (T1) with a high yield. In this work, we used time-resolved transient absorption to investigate the excited state proton transfer of NO2-Bp-OH in its T1 state to t-butylamine, methanol, and ethanol. The T1 state of the deprotonated form NO2-Bp-O- was first observed and identified in the case of t-butylamine. Kinetic analysis demonstrates that the formation of the hydrogen-bonded complex with methanol and ethanol as proton acceptors involves their trimers. The alcohol oligomer size required in the excited state proton transfer process is dependent on the excited acidity of photoacid.

Abstract
Ecosystem health (EH) is important for ensuring sustainable development, and the main goal of environmental protection and governance, especially for ecological fragile areas. Scientific assessment of EH can improve decision-making ability and inform sustainable development. In this paper, the effects of natural and social environment were integrated to reflect the characteristics of EH based on a comprehensive assessment system including ecosystem vigor (EV), ecosystem organization (EO), ecosystem resilience (ER), and the ratio of supply to demand of ecosystem services (ESDR) from the perspectives of ecological integrity and human demand for ecosystem services (ES). The Entire-Array-Polygon (EAP) method was applied to calculate an ecosystem health index (EHI) and analyze spatio-temporal change from 2000 to 2020 in Hexi Corridor (HC), Northwest China. The results showed that: (1) The spatial distribution of EV, EO, ER, and ESDR was generally consistent, with a low spatial distribution in the northwest and high in the southeast, the values showed an overall increasing trend from 2000 to 2020. (2) The spatial distribution of EHI was high in the northwest and central regions, and low in the southwest, reflected a moderate health level. The proportion of area with well and relatively well health was increasing, which indicated that EH showed an improving trend. (3) The significantly decrease areas of EHI were mainly located in urban areas, and the increases areas were mainly located outside of urban areas. The distribution of the EH condition has obvious orientation characteristics. The results of the study provide theoretical and practical implications for regional ecological conservation and management.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION We propose that MuSC-derived myoblasts in PAD have transcriptomic differences that can highlight underlying causes of ischemia-induced myopathy. METHODS Differentiation capacity among perfused and ischemic human myoblasts was compared. Following next generation sequencing of mRNA, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) was performed for canonical pathway enrichment. Live cell imaging and immunofluorescence were performed to determine myocyte fusion index and protein expression based on insights from IPA, specifically concerning cell cycle regulators including cell-division cycle protein 2 (CDC2) and polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1). RESULTS Ischemic myoblasts formed attenuated myotubes indicative of reduced fusion. Additionally, myoblasts from ischemic segments showed significant differences in canonical pathways associated with PLK1 (upregulated) and G2/M DNA damage checkpoint regulation (downregulated). PLK1 inhibition with BI2536 did not affect cell viability in any group over 24 h but deterred fusion more significantly in PAD myoblasts. Furthermore, PLK1 inhibition reduced the expression of checkpoint protein CDC2 in perfused but not ischemic cells. CONCLUSION Differentiating myoblasts derived from ischemic muscle have significant differences in gene expression including those essential to DNA-damage checkpoint regulation and cell cycle progress. DNA-damage checkpoint dysregulation may contribute to myopathy in PAD.

Abstract
Background: The potential role of selenium in preventing chronic liver diseases remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to summarize the available evidence from observational studies and intervention trials that had evaluated the associations between body selenium status and chronic liver diseases. Methods: We comprehensively searched MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library from inception to April 2021. The study protocol was registered at PROSPERO (CRD42020210144). Relative risks (RR) for the highest versus the lowest level of selenium and standard mean differences (SMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were pooled using random-effects models. Heterogeneity and publication bias were evaluated using the I2 statistic and Egger’s regression test, respectively. Results: There were 50 studies with 9875 cases and 12975 population controls in the final analysis. Patients with hepatitis (SMD = −1.78, 95% CI: −2.22 to −1.34), liver cirrhosis (SMD = −2.06, 95% CI: −2.48 to −1.63), and liver cancer (SMD = −2.71, 95% CI: −3.31 to −2.11) had significantly lower selenium levels than controls, whereas there was no significant difference in patients with fatty liver diseases (SMD = 1.06, 95% CI: −1.78 to 3.89). Moreover, the meta-analysis showed that a higher selenium level was significantly associated with a 41% decrease in the incidence of significant advanced chronic liver diseases (RR = 0.59, 95% CI: 0.49 to 0.72). Conclusion: Our meta-analysis suggested that both body selenium status and selenium intake were negatively associated with hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. However, the associations for fatty liver diseases were conflicting and need to be established in prospective trials.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are associated with an increased risk of adverse neonatal outcomes. Although twin pregnancies had a higher risk of developing HDP, it is not known whether HDP in twins will increase the risk of adverse neonatal outcomes. We aimed to assess whether this association differed in singleton and twin pregnancies in women who conceived with assisted reproductive technology (ART). METHODS We finally included 193,590 live births born via ART from the National Vital Statistics System (NVSS) for the years 2015-2019. We used Log-binomial regression to evaluate the associations between HDP and the risk of adverse neonatal outcomes in ART mothers. RESULTS Among 193,590 ART-treated mothers, there were 140,870 and 52,720 mothers who had singleton pregnancies and twin pregnancies, respectively. Those ART mothers with twin pregnancies had a higher rate of HDP than singleton pregnancies (20.5% vs. 11.0%). In singleton pregnancies, the risks of preterm birth [adjusted risk ratio (aRR)): 2.80, 95% CI 2.67-2.93], low birth weight (aRR: 2.80, 95% CI 2.67-2.93), small for gestational age (aRR: 1.41, 95% CI 1.34-1.49), 5 min Apgar <7 (aRR: 1.66, 95% CI 1.50-1.83) and cesarean section (aRR: 1.23, 95% CI 1.21-1.25) were significantly higher in HDP mothers than in non-HDP mothers respectively. However, in contrast to singleton pregnancies, these associations were weak or reversed in twin pregnancies, after adjusting for confounding factors. CONCLUSION In ART-treated women, although twin pregnancies had a higher HDP rate, the risk of adverse neonatal outcomes associated with HDP was lower than that of singletons.

Abstract
Drought is a complex natural disaster affected by multiple climate factors and underlying surface. In recent years, drought monitoring indices of remote sensing have been widely applied to monitor drought in a certain region or global. However, some remote sensing drought monitoring indices do not consider the drought-causing factors enough to reflect the comprehensive drought situation of a region fully. In this paper, a new remote sensing drought monitoring index, called Remote Sensing Drought Evaluation Index (RSDEI), was constructed by combining Vegetation Condition Index (VCI), Temperature Condition Index (TCI), Precipitation Condition Index (PCI), and Soil Moisture Condition Index (SMCI) using the spatial principal component analysis (SPCA) method. The reasonableness of RSDEI was test and verified using Net Primary Productivity (NPP), Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), and unit area crop yield. The RSDEI was also applied to the drought condition monitoring of the northwest arid and semi-arid region from 2001 to 2019.The result demonstrated that the results showed that the RSDEI had a high correlation coefficient with SPEI-12 (R=0.85, p<0.01). It is concluded that the correlation coefficient between RSDEI and NPP is 0.74 at 95% confidence level, which indicates that RSDEI and NPP have a strong correlation. Then, the correlation between RSDEI and crop yield per unit area is 0.89. The results of RSDEI showed that the drought in northwest China started in May and lasted in September from 2001 to 2019. The lowest value of RSDEI appeared in May, which inflected the significant difference of drought level in different month in northwest China. The result of CV (coefficient of variation) showed that the drought variation in the study area had a stable low fluctuation condition as a whole, in the northwest and northeast of study area, which indicated that the changes of drought were different in the past 19 years. The Hurst exponent analysis showed that the area with the positive evolution of Hurst index (0.5<H<1) is 1,845,046.669 km2,which accounts for 75.9% of the total area, while the area with reverse evolution characteristics (H<0.5) accounts for 24.1% of the total area. The result obtained above reflected that the drought changes in most regions are better than that in the past 19 years. The trend gradually changes from drought to humid.

Abstract
Timely and accurate monitoring of the spatiotemporal changes in drought is very important for the reduction in the social losses caused by drought. The Optimized Meteorological Drought Index (OMDI), originally established in southwestern China, showed great potential for drought monitoring over large regions on a large scale. However, the applicability of the index requires further evaluation, especially when used throughout China, which has a different agricultural divisions, variable climatic conditions, complex terrain and diverse land cover. In addition, the OMDI model relies on training data to construct local parameters for the model. On a large scale, it is of great significance to use multisource remote sensing data sets to construct OMDI model parameters. In this paper, the constrained optimization method was used to establish weights for the MODIS-derived Vegetation Conditional Index (VCI), TRMM-derived Precipitation Condition Index (PCI), and GLDAS-derived Soil Moisture Condition Index (SMCI) and calculate the OMDI based on the Standard Precipitation Index (SPI), Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) and weather stations. The accuracy of the OMDI model was evaluated by using the correlation coefficient. Moreover, the spatiotemporal changes in drought were also analyzed through trend analysis, Mann-Kendall (MK) statistics and the Hurst index on the monthly and annual scales. The results showed that (1) the highest positive correlation between the OMDI and the SPI was SPI-1, which was higher than that for any other month interval, such as 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months of the SPI. The results indicated that the OMDI was suitable to monitor meteorological drought. (2) In the nine agricultural subareas in China, the degree of drought in the Yangtze River (DYR) area had the most severe evolution and change frequency. This region was very sensitive to drought in the past two decades. (3) The area with OMDI variation coefficient less than 0.1 accounted for 94%, indicating that the degree of drought fluctuates little; The linear tendency rate is 0.0004, and the area greater than 0 reaches 66.44%, indicating that the drought is developing in a lightning trend. (4) The Hurst index value is mostly higher than 0.5 (the area ratio is 56.31%), and the area of "Positive-Consistent" and "Negative- Opposite" accounted for 54.02%, indicating that more than half of China's area drought changes will show a trend of mitigation in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES We examined the mediation effects of psychosocial adjustment on the impact of playmate positive support throughout childhood and early adolescence (from age 54 months to 11 years) on later body mass index (BMI) and overweight risk in middle adolescence (age 15 years). STUDY DESIGN This was a prospective cohort study. METHODS Among 844 children and their families, positive support between child-playmate dyads was repeatedly assessed from child's age 54 months to Grade 5. Long-term positive support between child-playmate dyads throughout childhood and early adolescence was prospectively linked to child's BMI and overweight/obesity status at age 15 years. The average scores of repeated assessments of internalizing and externalizing behavior problems from Grades 3 to 6 were used as mediators. RESULTS Significant mediations of internalizing and externalizing behavior problems were observed on pathways from positive support between child-playmate dyads to later BMI and overweight/obesity status at age 15 years. The observed mediations were mainly sustained with pronounced magnitudes in girls, but not in boys. CONCLUSIONS Our findings demonstrated a significant mediating role of psychosocial adjustment. Future research efforts are highly encouraged to replicate our findings and further explore this underlying mediation mechanism.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and lethal human malignancies worldwide; however, the therapeutic outcomes in the clinic still are unsatisfactory due to the lack of effective and safe therapeutic regimens. Orally administrable and CRC-targetable drug delivery is an attractive approach for CRC therapy as it improves the efficacy by local drug delivery and reduces systemic toxicity. Currently, chemotherapy remains the mainstay modality for CRC therapy; however, most of chemo drugs have low water solubility and are unstable in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), poor intestinal permeability, and are susceptible to P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux, resulting in limited therapeutic outcomes. Orally administrable nanoformulations hold the great potential for improving the bioavailability of poorly permeable and poorly soluble therapeutics, but there are still limitations associated with these regimes. This review focuses on the barriers for oral drug delivery and various oral therapeutic nanoparticles for the management of CRC.

Abstract
Rice bran is an industrial byproduct that exerts several bioactivities despite its limited bioavailability. In this study, rice bran fermented with Lactobacillus fermentum MF423 (FLRB) had enhanced antidiabetic effects both in vitro and in vivo. FLRB could increase glucose consumption and decrease lipid accumulation in insulin resistant HepG2 cells. Eight weeks of FLRB treatment significantly reduced the levels of blood glucose and lipids and elevated antioxidant activity in type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) mice. H&E staining revealed alleviation of overt lesions in the livers of FLRB-treated mice. Moreover, high-throughput sequencing showed notable variation in the composition of gut microbiota in FLRB-treated mice, especially for short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs)-producing bacteria such as Dubosiella and Lactobacillus. In conclusion, our results suggested that rice bran fermentation products can modulate the intestinal microbiota and improve T2DM-related biochemical abnormalities, so they can be applied as potential probiotics or dietary supplements.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To study the changes of metabolites in serum and tissues (kidney, liver and heart) of mice died of acute tetracaine poisoning by metabolomics, to search for potential biomarkers and related metabolic pathways, and to provide new ideas for the identification of cause of death and research on toxicological mechanism of acute tetracaine poisoning. Methods Forty ICR mice were randomly divided into control group and acute tetracaine poisoning death group. The model of death from acute poisoning was established by intraperitoneal injection of tetracaine, and the metabolic profile of serum and tissues of mice was obtained by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-electrostatic field orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-Orbitrap HRMS). Multivariate statistical principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least square-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were used, combined with t-test and fold change to identify the differential metabolites associated with death from acute tetracaine poisoning. Results Compared with the control group, the metabolic profiles of serum and tissues in the mice from acute tetracaine poisoning death group were significantly different. Eleven differential metabolites were identified in serum, including xanthine, spermine, 3-hydroxybutylamine, etc.; twenty-five differential metabolites were identified in liver, including adenylate, adenosine, citric acid, etc.; twelve differential metabolites were identified in heart, including hypoxanthine, guanine, guanosine, etc; four differential metabolites were identified in kidney, including taurochenodeoxycholic acid, 11, 12-epoxyeicosatrienoic acid, dimethylethanolamine and indole. Acute tetracaine poisoning mainly affected purine metabolism, tricarboxylic acid cycle, as well as metabolism of alanine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid. Conclusion The differential metabolites in serum and tissues of mice died of acute tetracaine poisoning are expected to be candidate biomarkers for this cause of death. The results can provide research basis for the mechanism and identification of acute tetracaine poisoning.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prognostic value of human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) expression in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers remains controversial. Thus, this meta-analysis aimed to summarize available evidence from case-control or cohort studies that evaluated this association. METHODS The PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases were searched to identify relevant studies written in English published up to April 1, 2021, and with no initial date. Furthermore, the Google Scholar and Google databases were also searched manually for gray literature. The protocol for this meta-analysis was registered at PROSPERO (CRD42020213411). Pooled hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated for end points using fixed- and random-effects statistical models to account for heterogeneity. Publication bias was evaluated using a funnel plot, Begg's and Egger's tests, and the "trim and fill" method. RESULTS A total of 30 eligible articles with 5737 unique patients, including 12 studies on colorectal cancer (CRC), 6 on gastric cancer (GC), 5 on esophageal cancer (ESCC), 5 on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and 2 on pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PC), were retrieved. Both univariate (HR = 2.01, 95% CI: 1.48 ~ 2.72) and multivariate (HR = 2.69, 95% CI: 2.03 ~ 3.55) analyses revealed that HLA-G expression was significantly correlated with poor overall survival (OS), regardless of the cancer type or antibody used. Subgroup analysis stratified by antibody showed that the 4H84 (I2 = 45.8%, P = 0.101) antibodies could be trustworthy and reliable for detecting HLA-G expression in GI cancers. In addition, HLA-G expression was found to be correlated with adverse clinicopathological parameters such as clinical stage, nodal status, metastasis, and histological grade but not tumor status. CONCLUSION Elevated HLA-G expression indicates a poor prognosis for GI cancer patients, and screening for this marker could allow for the early diagnosis and treatment of GI cancers to improve survival rates.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Tumor metastasis remains the main cause for the cancer-associated death of human non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Many studies have verified that microRNAs (miRNAs) exert crucial functions in the development of NSCLC. Nevertheless, the functions of miR-139-3p in NSCLC remain unexplored. PATIENTS AND METHODS The quantitative Real Time-PCR (qRT-PCR) assay was applied to assess the level of miR-139-3p and ELAV like RNA binding protein 1 (ELAVL1) in NSCLC tissues and cell lines. The growth of NSCLC cell was analyzed using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS) assay and colony formation assay. The migration ability and invasiveness of NSCLC cells were analyzed using wound healing and transwell invasion analysis. The expression of ELAVL1 was determined by immunoblotting assay. The growth of NSCLC cell in vivo was assessed using xenograft model. RESULTS We uncovered that miR-139-3p was down expressed in NSCLC. MiR-139-3p repressed NSCLC cell growth, migration as well as invasion in vitro, and suppressed the progression of NSCLC cell in vivo. Mechanistically, ELAVL1 was proved as a downstream target of miR-139-3p. The level of ELAVL1 was upregulated in NSCLC and inversely associated with miR-139-3p level. Immunoblotting assay suggested that ELAVL1 was negatively modulated by miR-139-3p in NSCLC cell. In vivo, miR-139-3p repressed NSCLC cell growth and metastasis. Several recuse assays revealed that ELAVL1 mediated the inhibitory actions of miR-139-3p on the growth and metastatic-related traits of NSCLC cell. CONCLUSIONS Our results indicate that miR-139-3p acts as a suppressor in modulating the aggressiveness of NSCLC via regulating ELAVL1.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In recent years, studies have shown that noncoding RNA (circRNA) is an important regulatory molecule involved in cell physiology and pathology. Herein, we analyzed the role of circRNA-68566 in the regulation of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury by regulating miR-6322/PARP2 signaling pathway. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cell viability was checked by CCK-8; LDH concentration, ROS production, MDA, SOD and GSH-Px were measured by corresponding kits; QPCR was used to inspect the expression of circRNA-0068566 and miR-6322 in I/R injury and H9C2 cells; luciferase reporter assay confirmed the direct target effect of circRNA-0068566 and miR-6322; Western blot was used to investigate PARP2 protein expression in I/R injury and H9C2 cells. RESULTS We analyzed the regulatory effect of circRNA-68566 on I/R injury and found that circRNA-68566 promoted the proliferation of injured cardiomyocytes in vitro and in vivo. circRNA-68566 and miR-6322 were directly combined to regulate the development of I/R injury. We also confirmed that PARP2 was the target of miR-6322 in I/R injury. CONCLUSIONS We believed that circRNA-68566 participated in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury by regulating miR-6322/PARP2 signaling pathway, which provided a new possible strategy for the treatment of I/R injury.

Abstract
Colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC) develops from chronic intestinal inflammation. Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) is an antimalarial drug exhibiting anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects. Nonetheless, the therapeutic effects of DHA on CAC remain unestablished. Methods: Mice were challenged with azoxymethane (AOM) and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) to establish CAC models. DHA was administered via oral gavage in different stages of CAC models. Colon and tumor tissues were obtained from the AOM/DSS models to investigate inflammatory responses and tumor development. Inflammatory cytokines in the murine models were detected through qRT-PCR and ELISA. Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling-related proteins were detected by western blot. Macrophage infiltration was measured using immunostaining analysis, and apoptosis in the colon cancer cells was detected by flow cytometry and western blot. Results: DHA inhibited inflammatory responses in the early stage of the AOM/DSS model and subsequent tumor formation. In the early stage, DHA reversed macrophage infiltration in colon mucosa and decreased the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. DHA inhibited the activation of macrophage by suppressing the TLR4 signal pathway. In the late stage of CAC, DHA inhibited tumor growth by enhancing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells. Administration of DHA during the whole period of the AOM/DSS model generated an addictive effect based on the inhibition of inflammation and tumor growth, thereby improving the therapeutic effect of DHA on CAC. Conclusion: Our study indicated that DHA could be a potent agent in managing the initiation and development of CAC without obvious side effects, warranting further clinical translation of DHA for CAC treatment.

Abstract
Many indices are used to monitor drought events. However, different indices have different data requirements and applications. Hence, evaluating their applicability will help to characterize drought events and refine the development of effective drought indices. We constructed different drought indices based on multisource remote sensing data and comprehensively evaluated and compared their applicability for drought monitoring throughout China. The characteristics of drought events in 2009 and 2011 were compared using various drought indices. The different time scales of the Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) and the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) were used to evaluate remote sensing drought indices in different regions. Single drought indices, including the Vegetation Condition Index (VCI), the Temperature Condition Index (TCI) derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data, the Precipitation Condition Index (PCI) derived from Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission (TRMM) data, and the TCI and Soil Moisture Condition Index (SMCI) derived from Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for the Earth Observing System (AMSR-E) data, as well as combined drought indices, including the Microwave Integrated Drought Index (MIDI), Optimized Vegetation Drought Index (OVDI), Optimized Meteorological Drought Index (OMDI), Scale Drought Conditions Index (SDCI), and Synthesized Drought Index (SDI), were analyzed and compared to evaluate their applicability. The results showed that different drought indices have specific characteristics under different land use types in China. The VCI and TCI can better monitor long-term drought conditions, but they have a weak correlation with the in situ drought index in forestland and grassland areas. The correlation of SPI-1 with the PCI is higher than that with other single indices, which indicates that the PCI is a good short-term drought index. The SMCI has a better correlation with the short-term in situ drought index, but it is not conducive to drought monitoring in areas such as densely forested land and grassland. The correlations of the in situ drought index with the combined drought indices (the MIDI, OVDI, OMDI, SDCI, and SDI) are better than those with the single drought indices.

Abstract
New strategies to fabricate nanomedicines with high translational capacity are urgently desired. Herein, a new class of self-assembled drug cocktails that addresses the multiple challenges of manufacturing clinically useful cancer nanomedicines was reported. Methods: With the aid of a molecular targeted agent, dasatinib (DAS), cytotoxic cabazitaxel (CTX) forms nanoassemblies (CD NAs) through one-pot process, with nearly quantitative entrapment efficiency and ultrahigh drug loading of up to 100%. Results: Surprisingly, self-assembled CD NAs show aggregation-induced emission, enabling particle trafficking and drug release in living cells. In preclinical models of human cancer, including a patient-derived melanoma xenograft, CD NAs demonstrated striking therapeutic synergy to produce a durable recession in tumor growth. Impressively, CD NAs alleviated the toxicity of the parent CTX agent and showed negligible immunotoxicity in animals. Conclusions: Overall, this approach does not require any carrier matrices, offering a scalable and cost-effective methodology to create a new generation of nanomedicines for the safe and efficient delivery of drug combinations.
