Abstract
Regenerating bone in the oral and maxillofacial region is clinically challenging due to the complicated osteogenic environment and the limitation of existing bone graft materials. Constructing bone graft materials with controlled degradation and stable mechanical properties in a physiological environment is of utmost importance. In this study, we used silk fibroin (SF) and polyglycolic acid (PGA) to fabricate a coaxial PGA-SF fibrous scaffold (PGA-SF-FS) to meet demands for bone grafts. The SF shell exerted excellent osteogenic activity while protecting PGA from rapid degradation and the PGA core equipped scaffold with excellent tenacity. The experiments related to biocompatibility and osteogenesis (e.g., cell attachment, proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization) demonstrated the superior ability of PGA-SF-FS to improve cell growth and osteogenic differentiation. Furthermore, in vivo testing using Sprague-Dawley rat cranial defect model showed that PGA-SF-FS accelerates bone regeneration as the implantation time increases, and its stepwise degradation helps to match the remodeling kinetics of the host bone tissue. Besides, immunohistochemical staining of CD31 and Col-1 confirmed the ability of PGA-SF-FS to enhance revascularization and osteogenesis response. Our results suggest that PGA-SF-FS fully utilizing the advantages of both components, exhibites stepwise degradation and superior tenacity in wetting regime, making it a promising candidate in the treatment of bone defects.

Abstract
AIM To describe the myocardial torsion mechanics in cardiac amyloidosis (CA), and evaluate the correlations between left ventricle (LV) torsion mechanics and conventional parameters using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging feature tracking (CMR-FT). MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and thirty-nine patients with light-chain CA (AL-CA) were divided into three groups: group 1 with preserved systolic function (LV ejection fraction [LVEF] ≥50%, n=55), group 2 with mildly reduced systolic function (40% ≤ LVEF <50%, n=51), and group 3 with reduced systolic function (LVEF <40%, n=33), and compared with age- and gender-matched healthy controls (n=26). All patients underwent cine imaging and late gadolinium-enhancement (LGE). Cine images were analysed offline using CMR-FT to estimate torsion parameters. RESULTS Global torsion, base-mid torsion, and peak diastolic torsion rate (diasTR) were significantly impaired in patients with preserved systolic function (p<0.05 for all), whereas mid-apex torsion and peak systolic torsion rate (sysTR) were preserved (p>0.05 for both) compared with healthy controls. In patients with mildly reduced systolic function, global torsion and base-mid torsion were lower compared to those with preserved systolic function (p<0.05 for both), while mid-apex torsion, sysTR, and diasTR were preserved (p>0.05 for all). In patients with reduced systolic function, only sysTR was significantly worse compared with mildly reduced systolic function (p<0.05). At multivariable analysis, right ventricle (RV) end-systolic volume RVESV index and NYHA class were independently related to global torsion, whereas LVEF was independently related to sysTR. RV ejection fraction (RVEF) was independently related to diasTR. LV global torsion performed well (AUC 0.71; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.61, 0.77) in discriminating transmural from non-transmural LGE in AL-CA patients. CONCLUSION LV torsion mechanics derived by CMR-FT could help to monitor LV systolic and diastolic function in AL-CA patients and function as a new imaging marker for LV dysfunction and LGE transmurality.

Abstract
Phthalates (PAEs) are a typical class of endocrine disruptors (EEDs). As one of the most commonly used plasticizers, they have received widespread attention due to their wide application in various countries and high detection rates in various environmental media. To be able to clarify the contamination status of PAEs pollutants in a typical northern cold-temperate urban river, 30 water samples from Yitong River in Changchun City, northern China were collected, during the 2023 dry season (March), normal season (May) and wet season (July). Using these samples, a total of 16 target PAEs are investigated. The resulting total PAEs concentrations are: dry season 408 to 1494 ng/L, wet season 491 to 1299 ng/L, and normal season 341 to 780 ng/L. The average concentration of the 16 PAEs over the three seasons is 773 ng/L. Di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) and Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) have the highest concentrations, ranging from 12 to 403 ng/L and 28-680 ng/L respectively. The ecological risks within the Yitong River Basin are evaluated based on the degree of PAEs contamination. DBP and DEHP pose higher risk assessment levels for algae, crustaceans and fish than the other target PAEs. The accurate determination of PAEs provided baseline data on PAEs for the management of the Yitong River, which is of great significance for the prediction of ecological risk assessment and the development of corresponding control measures, supported further research on PAEs in the cold-temperate zone aquatic environments, and shed light on the seasonal variations of PAEs in the Northeast region in the future. Moreover, considering the bioaccumulation and persistence of PAEs, it is necessary to continue to pay attention to the pollution status of cold-temperate zones rivers and the changes in ecological risks in the future.

Abstract
Objective. This study aims to explore the possibility of using electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to assess pursed lips breathing (PLB) performance of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods. 32 patients with COPD were assigned equally to either the conventional group or the EIT guided group. All patients were taught to perform PLB by a physiotherapist without EIT in the conventional group or with EIT in the EIT guided group for 10 min. The ventilation of all patients in the final test were continuously monitored using EIT and the PLB performances were rated by another physiotherapist before and after reviewing EIT. The global and regional ventilation between two groups as well as between quite breathing (QB) and PLB were compared and rating scores with and without EIT were also compared.Results.For global ventilation, the inspiratory depth and the ratio of expiratory-to-inspiratory time during PLB was significantly larger than those during QB for both group (P< 0.001). The inspiratory depth and the ratio of expiratory-to-inspiratory time during PLB in the EIT guided group were higher compared to those in the conventional group (P< 0.001), as well as expiratory flow expiratory uniformity and respiratory stability were better (P< 0.001). For regional ventilation, center of ventilation significantly decreased during PLB (P< 0.05). The expiratory time constant during PLB in the EIT guided group was greater than that in the conventional group (P< 0.001). Additionally, Bland-Altman plots analysis suggested a high concordance between subjective rating and rating with the help of EIT, but the score rated after EIT observation significantly lower than that rated subjectively in both groups (score drop of -2.68 ± 1.1 in the conventional group and -1.19 ± 0.72 in the EIT guided group,P< 0.01).Conclusion.EIT could capture the details of PLB maneuver, which might be a potential tool to quantitatively evaluate PLB performance and thus assist physiotherapists to teach PLB maneuver to patients.

Abstract
We first sequenced and characterised the complete mitochondrial genome of Toxocara apodeme, then studied the evolutionary relationship of the species within Toxocaridae. The complete mitochondrial genome was amplified using PCR with 14 specific primers. The mitogenome length was 14303 bp in size, including 12 PCGs (encoding 3,423 amino acids), 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and 2 NCRs, with 68.38% A+T contents. The mt genomes of T. apodemi had relatively compact structures with 11 intergenic spacers and 5 overlaps. Comparative analyses of the nucleotide sequences of complete mt genomes showed that T. apodemi had higher identities with T. canis than other congeners. A sliding window analysis of 12 PCGs among 5 Toxocara species indicated that nad4 had the highest sequence divergence, and cox1 was the least variable gene. Relative synonymous codon usage showed that UUG, ACU, CCU, CGU, and UCU most frequently occurred in the complete genomes of T. apodemi. The Ka/Ks ratio showed that all Toxocara mt genes were subject to purification selection. The largest genetic distance between T. apodemi and the other 4 congeneric species was found in nad2, and the smallest was found in cox2. Phylogenetic analyses based on the concatenated amino acid sequences of 12 PCGs demonstrated that T. apodemi formed a distinct branch and was always a sister taxon to other congeneric species. The present study determined the complete mt genome sequences of T. apodemi, which provide novel genetic markers for further studies of the taxonomy, population genetics, and systematics of the Toxocaridae nematodes.

Abstract
Coal-derived carbon nanomaterials possess numerous superior features compared to other classic carbon, such as readily accessible surfaces, tunable pore structure, and facile and precise surface functionalization. Therefore, the controllable preparation of coal-derived carbon nanomaterials is anticipated to be of great significance for the performance improvement and commercialization process of carbon-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs). In this study, we successfully synthesized highly stable and commercially valuable graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) utilizing coal. Compared to traditional methods and commercial graphene, the chemical oxidation and pyrolysis process used in this study is mild and simple, offering the advantages of controlled composition and the absence of other impurities. GO or rGO was incorporated into the top of the SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL) of C-PSCs. Under optimized conditions and ultraviolet-ozone (UVO) irradiation, the ultimate power conversion efficiency (PCE) increased from the unmodified 12.4 to 14.04% (based on rGO) and 15.18% (based on GO), representing improvements of 22 and 31%, respectively. The improved photovoltaic performance is mainly owing to enhanced charge transport capabilities, denser interfacial contacts, improved carrier separation properties, increased conductivity, and abundance of hydrophilic functional groups in GO, which can form more stable hydrogen bonds with SnO2. After being stored at room temperature and ambient humidity for 30 days, the modified, unpacked devices retained 87% of the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE). This study introduces a practical and manageable method to enhance the performance of C-PSCs by using functional carbon nanomaterials derived from coal.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Post-stroke fatigue (PSF) was a common complication after stroke. This study aimed to explore the neuroimaging mechanism of PSF, which was rarely studied. METHODS Patients with the first episode of ischemic stroke were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University between March 2021 and December 2022. The fatigue severity scale (FSS) was used to assess fatigue symptoms. PSF was diagnosed by a neurologist based on the FSS score and PSF diagnostic criteria. All the patients were scanned by resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI). Precuneus, the posterior node of default-mode network (pDMN), was related to fatigue. Therefore, imaging data were further analyzed by the seed-based resting-state functional connectivity (FC) approach, with the left (PCUN.L) and right precuneus (PCUN.R) being the seeds. RESULTS A total of 70 patients with acute ischemic stroke were finally recruited, comprising 40 patients with PSF and 30 patients without PSF. Both the PCUN.L and PCUN.R seeds (pDMN) exhibited decreased FC with the prefrontal lobes located at the anterior part of DMN (aDMN), and the FC values were negatively correlated with FSS scores (both p < 0.001). These two seeds also exhibited increased FC with the right insula, and the FC values were positively correlated with FSS scores (both p < 0.05). CONCLUSION The abnormal FC between the aDMN and pDMN was associated with PSF. Besides, the insula, related to interoception, might also play an important role in PSF.

Abstract
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNAemia and disease are common complications in patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Few studies have compared the efficacy and safety of the HSCT donor and third-party CMV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CMV-CTLs) in the treatment of CMV DNAemia and disease. In this study, we retrospectively compared the efficacy and safety of HSCT donor and third-party CMV-CTLs in patients with refractory CMV DNAemia or disease after allo-HSCT at our centre from January 2017 to September 2021. Fifty-three patients who received CMV-CTL therapy were enrolled, including 40 in the donor group and 13 in the third-party group, and they were adults aged 18 years or older. Within 6 weeks of treatment, 26 (65.0%) and 9 (69.2%) patients achieved complete response in the donor and third-party groups (p = 1.000). The 2-year overall survival was 59.6% (95% CI 46.1%-77.1%) and 53.8% (32.6%-89.1%) in the donor and third-party groups (p = 0.860). Four (10.0%) patients in the donor group and two (15.4%) patients in the third-party group developed acute graft-versus-host disease within 3 months after CMV-CTL infusions. In conclusion, our data suggest that donor and third-party CMV-CTLs have comparable efficacy and safety for refractory CMV DNAemia and disease.

Abstract
The objective of the study is to explore the influence of self-esteem on the happiness levels of college students and the mediating roles of social avoidance and loneliness. 1021 college students between 18 and 24 years of age completed the Self-esteem Scale, General Well-being Scale, Social Avoidance and Distress Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale and Interpersonal Trust Scale.And descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis were conducted. The result turns out that Self-esteem negatively predicted the happiness levels of college students. Self-esteem indirectly predicted happiness through three paths: mediating the roles of social avoidance, mediating the roles of loneliness and the chain-mediated roles of social avoidance and loneliness in college students.Interpersonal Trust moderated the relationship between loneliness and happiness.The higher the self-esteem levels of the college students, the less happiness they experienced.

Abstract
Bud sport is a common and stable somatic variation in perennial fruit trees, and often leads to significant modification of fruit traits and affects the breeding value. To investigate the impact of bud sport on the main metabolites in the fruit of white-fleshed loquat, we conducted a multi-omics analysis of loquat fruits at different developmental stages of a white-fleshed bud sport mutant of Dongting loquat (TBW) and its wild type (TBY). The findings from the detection of main fruit quality indices and metabolites suggested that bud sport resulted in a reduction in the accumulation of carotenoids, fructose, titratable acid and terpenoids at the mature stage of TBW, while leading to the accumulation of flavonoids, phenolic acids, amino acids and lipids. The comparably low content of titratable acid further enhances the balanced and pleasent taste profile of TBW. Expression patterns of differentially expressed genes involved in fructose metabolism exhibited a significant increase in the expression level of S6PDH (EVM0006243, EVM0044405) prior to fruit maturation. The comparison of protein sequences and promoter region of S6PDH between TBY and TBW revealed no structural variations that would impact gene function or expression, indicating that transcription factors may be responsible for the rapid up-regulation of S6PDH before maturation. Furthermore, correlation analysis helped to construct a comprehensive regulatory network of fructose metabolism in loquat, including 23 transcription factors, six structural genes, and nine saccharides. Based on the regulatory network and existing studies, it could be inferred that transcription factors such as ERF, NAC, MYB, GRAS, and bZIP may promote fructose accumulation in loquat flesh by positively regulating S6PDH. These findings improve our understanding of the nutritional value and breeding potential of white-fleshed loquat bud sport mutant, as well as serve as a foundation for exploring the genes and transcription factors that regulate fructose metabolism in loquat.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the incidence of postoperative complications in Chinese patients with gastric or colorectal cancer, and to evaluate the risk factors for postoperative complications. Methods: This was a national, multicenter, prospective, registry-based, cohort study of data obtained from the database of the Prevalence of Abdominal Complications After Gastro- enterological Surgery (PACAGE) study sponsored by the China Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgical Union. The PACAGE database prospectively collected general demographic characteristics, protocols for perioperative treatment, and variables associated with postoperative complications in patients treated for gastric or colorectal cancer in 20 medical centers from December 2018 to December 2020. The patients were grouped according to the presence or absence of postoperative complications. Postoperative complications were categorized and graded in accordance with the expert consensus on postoperative complications in gastrointestinal oncology surgery and Clavien-Dindo grading criteria. The incidence of postoperative complications of different grades are presented as bar charts. Independent risk factors for occurrence of postoperative complications were identified by multifactorial unconditional logistic regression. Results: The study cohort comprised 3926 patients with gastric or colorectal cancer, 657 (16.7%) of whom had a total of 876 postoperative complications. Serious complications (Grade III and above) occurred in 4.0% of patients (156/3926). The rate of Grade V complications was 0.2% (7/3926). The cohort included 2271 patients with gastric cancer with a postoperative complication rate of 18.1% (412/2271) and serious complication rate of 4.7% (106/2271); and 1655 with colorectal cancer, with a postoperative complication rate of 14.8% (245/1655) and serious complication rate of 3.0% (50/1655). The incidences of anastomotic leakage in patients with gastric and colorectal cancer were 3.3% (74/2271) and 3.4% (56/1655), respectively. Abdominal infection was the most frequently occurring complication, accounting for 28.7% (164/572) and 39.5% (120/304) of postoperative complications in patients with gastric and colorectal cancer, respectively. The most frequently occurring grade of postoperative complication was Grade II, accounting for 65.4% (374/572) and 56.6% (172/304) of complications in patients with gastric and colorectal cancers, respectively. Multifactorial analysis identified (1) the following independent risk factors for postoperative complications in patients in the gastric cancer group: preoperative comorbidities (OR=2.54, 95%CI: 1.51-4.28, P<0.001), neoadjuvant therapy (OR=1.42, 95%CI:1.06-1.89, P=0.020), high American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) scores (ASA score 2 points:OR=1.60, 95% CI: 1.23-2.07, P<0.001, ASA score ≥3 points:OR=0.43, 95% CI: 0.25-0.73, P=0.002), operative time >180 minutes (OR=1.81, 95% CI: 1.42-2.31, P<0.001), intraoperative bleeding >50 mL (OR=1.29,95%CI: 1.01-1.63, P=0.038), and distal gastrectomy compared with total gastrectomy (OR=0.65,95%CI: 0.51-0.83, P<0.001); and (2) the following independent risk factors for postoperative complications in patients in the colorectal cancer group: female (OR=0.60, 95%CI: 0.44-0.80, P<0.001), preoperative comorbidities (OR=2.73, 95%CI: 1.25-5.99, P=0.030), neoadjuvant therapy (OR=1.83, 95%CI:1.23-2.72, P=0.008), laparoscopic surgery (OR=0.47, 95%CI: 0.30-0.72, P=0.022), and abdominoperineal resection compared with low anterior resection (OR=2.74, 95%CI: 1.71-4.41, P<0.001). Conclusion: Postoperative complications associated with various types of infection were the most frequent complications in patients with gastric or colorectal cancer. Although the risk factors for postoperative complications differed between patients with gastric cancer and those with colorectal cancer, the presence of preoperative comorbidities, administration of neoadjuvant therapy, and extent of surgical resection, were the commonest factors associated with postoperative complications in patients of both categories.

Abstract
A composite material, cow dung-doped sludge biochar (Zn@SBC-CD), was synthesized by one-step pyrolysis using ZnCl2 as an activating agent and applied to a catalytic ozonation process (COP) for methylene blue (MB) removal. SEM, XRD, FTIR, XPS and BET analyses were performed to characterize the biochar (BC) catalysts. Zn@SBC-CD had high graphitization degree, abundant active sites and uniform distribution of Zn on its surface. Complete removal of MB was achieved within 10 min, with a removal rate much higher than that of ozone alone (32.4%), implying the excellent ozone activation performance of Zn@SBC-CD. The influence of experimental parameters on MB removal efficiency was examined. Under the optimum conditions in terms of ozone dose 0.04 mg/mL, catalyst dose 400 mg/L and pH 6.0, COD was completely removed after 20 min. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis revealed radical and non-radical pathways were involved in MB degradation. The Zn@SBC-CD/O3 system generated superoxide anion radicals (•O2-), which were the main active species for MB removal, through adsorption, transformation, and transfer, Furthermore, Zn@SBC-CD exhibited good reusability and stability in cycling experiments. This study provides a novel approach for the utilization of cow dung and sludge in synthesis of functional biocatalysts and application in organic wastewater treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated cation channel (HCN1) is predominantly located in key regions associated with epilepsy, such as the neocortex and hippocampus. Under normal physiological conditions, HCN1 plays a crucial role in the excitatory and inhibitory regulation of neuronal networks. In temporal lobe epilepsy, the expression of HCN1 is decreased in the hippocampi of both animal models and patients. However, whether HCN1 expression changes during epileptogenesis preceding spontaneous seizures remains unclear. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine whether the expression of HCN1 is altered during the epileptic prodromal phase, thereby providing evidence for its role in epileptogenesis. METHODS We utilized a cobalt wire-induced rat epilepsy model to observe changes in HCN1 during epileptogenesis and epilepsy. Additionally, we also compared HCN1 alterations in epileptogenic tissues between cobalt wire- and pilocarpine-induced epilepsy rat models. Long-term video EEG recordings were used to confirm seizures development. Transcriptional changes, translation, and distribution of HCN1 were assessed using high-throughput transcriptome sequencing, total protein extraction, membrane and cytoplasmic protein fractionation, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence techniques. RESULTS In the cobalt wire-induced rat epilepsy model during the epileptogenesis phase, total HCN1 mRNA and protein levels were downregulated. Specifically, the membrane expression of HCN1 was decreased, whereas cytoplasmic HCN1 expression showed no significant change. The distribution of HCN1 in the distal dendrites of neurons decreased. During the epilepsy period, similar HCN1 alterations were observed in the neocortex of rats with cobalt wire-induced epilepsy and hippocampus of rats with lithium pilocarpine-induced epilepsy, including downregulation of mRNA levels, decreased total protein expression, decreased membrane expression, and decreased distal dendrite expression. CONCLUSIONS Alterations in HCN1 expression and distribution are involved in epileptogenesis beyond their association with seizure occurrence. Similarities in HCN1 alterations observed in epileptogenesis-related tissues from different models suggest a shared pathophysiological pathway in epileptogenesis involving HCN1 dysregulation. Therefore, the upregulation of HCN1 expression in neurons, maintenance of the HCN1 membrane, and distal dendrite distribution in neurons may represent promising disease-modifying strategies in epilepsy.

Abstract
Perovskite photovoltaics, typically based on a solution-processed perovskite layer with a film thickness of a few hundred nanometres, have emerged as a leading thin-film photovoltaic technology. Nevertheless, many critical issues pose challenges to its commercialization progress, including industrial compatibility, stability, scalability and reliability. A thicker perovskite film on a scale of micrometres could mitigate these issues. However, the efficiencies of thick-film perovskite cells lag behind those with nanometre film thickness. With the mechanism remaining elusive, the community has long been under the impression that the limiting factor lies in the short carrier lifetime as a result of defects. Here, by constructing a perovskite system with extraordinarily long carrier lifetime, we rule out the restrictions of carrier lifetime on the device performance. Through this, we unveil the critical role of the ignored lattice strain in thick films. Our results provide insights into the factors limiting the performance of thick-film perovskite devices.

Abstract
For patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the assessment of the treatment efficacy during hospitalization is of importance to the optimization of clinical treatments. Conventional spirometry might not be sensitive enough to capture the regional lung function development. The study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using electrical impedance tomography (EIT) as an objective bedside evaluation tool for the treatment of acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). Consecutive patients who required hospitalization due to AECOPD were included prospectively. EIT measurements were conducted at the time of admission and before the discharge simultaneously when a forced vital capacity maneuver was conducted. EIT-based heterogeneity measures of regional lung function were calculated based on the impedance changes over time. Surveys for attending doctors and patients were designed to evaluate the ease of use, feasibility, and overall satisfaction level to understand the acceptability of EIT measurements. Patient-reported outcome assessments were conducted. User's acceptance of EIT technology was investigated with a five-dimension survey. A total of 32 patients were included, and 8 patients were excluded due to the FVC maneuver not meeting the ATS criteria. Spirometry-based lung function was improved during hospitalization but not significantly different (FEV1 %pred.: 35.8% ± 6.7% vs. 45.3% ± 8.8% at admission vs. discharge; p = 0.11. FVC %pred.: 67.8% ± 0.4% vs. 82.6% ± 5.0%; p = 0.15. FEV1/FVC: 0.41 ± 0.09 vs. 0.42 ± 0.07, p = 0.71). The symptoms of COPD were significantly improved, but the correlations between the improvement of symptoms and spirometry FEV1 and FEV1/FVC were low (R = 0.1 and -0.01, respectively). The differences in blood gasses and blood tests were insignificant. All but one EIT-based regional lung function parameter were significantly improved after hospitalization. The results highly correlated with the patient-reported outcome assessment (R > 0.6, p < 0.001). The overall acceptability score of EIT measurement for both attending physicians and patients was high (4.1 ± 0.8 for physicians, 4.5 ± 0.5 for patients out of 5). These results demonstrated that it was feasible and acceptable to use EIT as an objective bedside evaluation tool for COPD treatment efficacy.

Abstract
The giant panda, a strict herbivore that feeds on bamboo, still retains a typical carnivorous digestive system. Reference catalogs of microbial genes and genomes are lacking, largely limiting the antibiotic resistome and functional exploration of the giant panda gut microbiome. Here, we integrated 177 fecal metagenomes of captive and wild giant pandas to construct a giant panda integrated gene catalog (GPIGC) comprised of approximately 4.5 million non-redundant genes and reconstruct 393 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs). Taxonomic and functional characterization of genes revealed that the captivity of the giant panda significantly changed the core microbial composition and the distribution of microbial genes. Higher abundance and prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) were detected in the guts of captive giant pandas, and ARG distribution was influenced by geography, for both captive and wild individuals. Escherichia, as the prevalent genus in the guts of captive giant pandas, was the main carrier of ARGs, meaning there is a high risk of ARG transmission by Escherichia. We also found that multiple mcr gene variants, conferring plasmid-mediated mobile colistin resistance, were widespread in the guts of captive and wild giant pandas. There were low proportions of carbohydrate-active enzyme (CAZyme) genes in GPIGC and MAGs compared with several omnivorous and herbivorous mammals. Many members of Clostridium MAGs were significantly enriched in the guts of adult, old and wild giant pandas. The genomes of isolates and MAGs of Clostridiaceae harbored key genes or enzymes in complete pathways for degrading lignocellulose and producing short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), indicating the potential of these bacteria to utilize the low-nutrient bamboo diet. Overall, our data presented an exhaustive reference gene catalog and MAGs in giant panda gut and provided a comprehensive understanding of the antibiotic resistome and microbial adaptability for a high-lignocellulose diet.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize and analyze the clinical features, treatment, and prognosis of pulmonary artery stenosis post-lung transplantation. Methods: A 62-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital with a cough and chest tightness of over a year's duration, which had worsened in the last two months, leading to the diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The clinical data were observed and reviewed post-left allograft single lung transplantation. Literature searches were conducted using the keywords "lung transplantation" "stenosis, pulmonary artery" and "postoperative complications" in CNKI, Wanfang Medical Network, and PubMed databases up to December 2022. Results: On January 26, 2022, a left allograft single lung transplantation was performed under general anesthesia. Postoperatively, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and mechanical ventilation were successfully weaned off at 22 hours and 2 days, respectively, with transfer from the intensive care unit 12 days after surgery. PaO2 and PaCO2 were 50 mmHg and 40 mmHg after deoxygenation. Both pulmonary CT angiography and ventilatory-perfusion imaging indicated stenosis of the left pulmonary anastomosis. Balloon dilation and pulmonary artery stenting were performed, with PaO2 and PaCO2 improving to 87 mmHg and 42 mmHg, respectively. The patient was discharged 102 days post-surgery, and was followed up for 1 year, with a good prognosis. Additionally, 36 related articles were retrieved, encompassing 69 cases with a median age of 53 years (38.5-59.0 years). Of these, 27.54% (19/69) were diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, 46.38% (32/69) underwent single lung transplantation, with the primary clinical symptom being hypoxemia in 71.01% (49/69) cases. Left pulmonary artery anastomotic stenosis was observed in 43.48% (30/69), with 65.22% (45/69) being diagnosed in the late postoperative period. Interventional therapy was performed to 44.93% (31/69), with a mortality rate of 21.74% (15/69). Conclusions: The primary clinical manifestation of post-lung transplantation pulmonary artery stenosis is hypoxemia and can be diagnosed by pulmonary artery CT angiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and pulmonary angiography. Early diagnosis can significantly reduce mortality, and interventional therapy is an effective treatment for severe pulmonary artery stenosis post-lung transplantation.

Abstract
Introduction pH is one of the important factors affecting the growth and performance of microorganisms. Methods We studied the pH response and plant growth-promoting (PGP) ability of Rhizopus delemar using cultivation experiments and transcriptomics, and verified the expression profiles using quantitative real-time PCR. Results pH affected the growth and PGP properties of R. delemar. At pH 7, the growth rate of R. delemar was rapid, whereas pH 4 and 8 inhibited mycelial growth and PGP ability, respectively. In the pot experiment, the plant height was the highest at pH 7, 56 cm, and the lowest at pH 4 and pH 5, 46.6 cm and 47 cm, respectively. Enzyme activities were highest at pH 6 to pH 7. Enzyme activities were highest at pH 6 to pH 7. Among the 1,629 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), 1,033 genes were up-regulated and 596 were down-regulated. A total of 1,623 DEGs were annotated to carbohydrate-active enzyme coding genes. Discussion The PGP characteristics, e.g., Phosphorus solubilization ability, of R. delemar were strongest at pH 7. The results provide useful information regarding the molecular mechanism of R. delemar pH response.

Abstract
Sense of agency (SoA) refers to the subjective experience of controlling one's actions and their subsequent consequences. The present study endeavors to investigate the impact of how different degrees of self-related stimuli as action outcomes on the sense of agency by observing the temporal binding effect. Results showed that self-related sound significantly altered temporal binding, notably influencing outcome binding. A post-hoc explanation model effectively elucidated the role of self-related information in the formation of the sense of agency.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is one of the most severe chronic complications of diabetes and is associated with higher level of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). The aim of this study was to investigate the diagnostic potential of combined detection of multiple serum AGEs in diagnosing DKD. METHODS Serum AGEs, Nε-(carboxymethyl) lysine (CML), Nε-(carboxyethyl) lysine, and methylglyoxal (MGO) levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 176 individuals with type 2 diabetes. Participants were classified into normoalbuminuria, microalbuminuria, and macroalbuminuria group according to their urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR). RESULTS Higher serum AGEs levels were found to be positively correlated with U-Alb, UACR, and blood urea nitrogen in the study of 176 individuals with type 2 diabetes. CML and MGO levels were positively correlated with U-Alb, UACR, blood urea nitrogen, Scr, and uric acid, and negatively correlated with estimated glomerular filtration rate (P < .05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that elevated levels of AGEs, CML, and MGO were independent risk factors for the progression of DKD (odds ratio = 1.861, 1.016, 7.607, P < .01). The sensitivity, specificity, and area under receiver operating characteristic curve of combined detection of AGEs, MGO, and CML were higher than those of three individual detections (area under the curve = 0.952, 0.772, 0.868, 0905, respectively, P < .05). CONCLUSION The combined detection of AGEs, CML, and MGO may improve the reliability of early diagnosis of DKD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Fatigue and low-temperature degradation (LTD) are the main factors contributing to zirconia restoration failure. This study evaluated the effect of LTD on the fatigue performance of the novel "strength & shade-gradient" multilayered zirconia restorations. METHODS Discs (15 mm × 1.2 mm) of each yttria content layer from a newly developed strength-gradient multilayered zirconia were fabricated and under accelerated aging in an autoclave at 134℃ for 0 h, 32 h, and 64 h. Then, the phase transformation, microstructure, and mechanical properties after LTD were assessed. In addition, the crown samples, including the multi-Zir, 3Y-Zir, and 5Y-Zir were fabricated, and their monotonic and fatigue load before and after LTD, percentage of fatigue degradation (Sd) and the fracture morphology were investigated. Statistical analyses were performed using paired samples t-test (α' = α/3 = 0.017), one-way ANOVA and Weibull analysis. RESULTS After LTD, the phase transformation, surface roughness, depth of transformed zone, and residual stress were increased and inversely associated with the yttria content. The indentation elastic modulus and hardness after LTD decreased; however, there was no significant difference between the different yttria content layers. The monotonic and fatigue load of multi-Zir restorations decreased, but their Weibull modulus increased, and Sd decreased, similar to 3Y-Zir. The crack origin was associated with the cervical region. CONCLUSION These results show that although LTD reduces the absolute fatigue strength of strength-gradient multilayered zirconia restorations, it also reduces the effect of cyclic fatigue itself on the strength of zirconia (relative to monotonic strength), which might be due to the increase of residual stress. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE The novel "strength & shade-gradient" multilayered zirconia restorations show a promising performance during in vitro LTD and fatigue test and their reliability to some extent is comparable to 3Y-Zir. Yet, further in vivo longitudinal studies are warranted to confirm their precise performance.

Abstract
Fractional vegetation cover (FVC) is a crucial indicator to estimate degradation and desertification for grasslands. However, traditional small-scale FVC analysis methods, such as visual estimation and point-sampling, are cumbersome and imprecise. Innovative methods like image-based FVC analysis methods, while accurate, face challenges such as complex analytical procedures and the necessary training for operations. Therefore, in this study, a combined application of ImageJ and Photoshop was employed to achieve a more effective analysis of FVC values in desertification areas. Our results showed that the FVC results obtained by combination of Photoshop and ImageJ were dependable and precise (R2 > 0.98), demonstrating equivalency to results obtained through either visual estimation or Photoshop-based methods. Furthermore, even in the face of background interference and varied shooting angles, the combination of ImageJ and Photoshop software was still able to maintain a low error rate when analyzing FVC values (average error rate = - 2.6%). In conclusion, the imaged-based combined FVC analysis method employed in our research was an effective, precise, and efficient technique for analyzing small-scale FVC, promising substantial improvement over conventional methods.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Artificial intelligence (AI) technology represented by deep learning has made remarkable achievements in digital pathology, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of diagnosis and prognosis evaluation. The spatial distribution of CD3 + and CD8 + T cells within the tumor microenvironment has been demonstrated to have a significant impact on the prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). This study aimed to investigate CD3 CT (CD3 + T cells density in the core of the tumor [CT]) prognostic ability in patients with CRC by using AI technology. METHODS The study involved the enrollment of 492 patients from two distinct medical centers, with 358 patients assigned to the training cohort and an additional 134 patients allocated to the validation cohort. To facilitate tissue segmentation and T-cells quantification in whole-slide images (WSIs), a fully automated workflow based on deep learning was devised. Upon the completion of tissue segmentation and subsequent cell segmentation, a comprehensive analysis was conducted. RESULTS The evaluation of various positive T cell densities revealed comparable discriminatory ability between CD3 CT and CD3-CD8 (the combination of CD3 + and CD8 + T cells density within the CT and invasive margin) in predicting mortality (C-index in training cohort: 0.65 vs. 0.64; validation cohort: 0.69 vs. 0.69). The CD3 CT was confirmed as an independent prognostic factor, with high CD3 CT density associated with increased overall survival (OS) in the training cohort (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.22, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.12-0.38, P <0.001) and validation cohort (HR = 0.21, 95% CI: 0.05-0.92, P = 0.037). CONCLUSIONS We quantify the spatial distribution of CD3 + and CD8 + T cells within tissue regions in WSIs using AI technology. The CD3 CT confirmed as a stage-independent predictor for OS in CRC patients. Moreover, CD3 CT shows promise in simplifying the CD3-CD8 system and facilitating its practical application in clinical settings.

Abstract
Pneumothorax is an emergency in thoracic surgeries and respiratory medicine. A technique is warranted for real-time monitoring of pneumothorax at the bedside so that rapid diagnosis and timely intervention can be achieved. We report herein a case in which electrical impedance tomography (EIT) was employed at the bedside to monitor lung ventilation of a patient with spontaneous pneumothorax during treatment. It was found that the affected side/healthy side ventilation ratio and global inhomogeneity were strongly correlated with the severity of pneumothorax. The use of EIT allowed intuitive observation of the effect of pneumothorax on ventilation, which helped the doctors make immediate diagnosis and intervention. After timely and successful treatment, the patient was discharged. This is the first case reporting a complete therapeutic course of spontaneous pneumothorax assessed with EIT. Our case demonstrated that EIT could monitor regional ventilation loss of the affected side of pneumothorax patients at the bedside, and dynamically assess the treatment effect of pneumothorax, which provides an important imaging basis for clinical pneumothorax treatment.

Abstract
Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) is an important mechanism to design ratiometric fluorescent probes that are able to detect analytes quantitatively according to the ratio of two well-resolved emission signals. Two-photon (TP) fluorescent probes can realize the detection in living cells and tissues with deeper penetration depth, higher resolution, and lower photodamage in contrast to one-photon fluorescent probes. However, to date, fabricating TP-FRET ratiometric fluorescent probes possessing large two-photon absorption (TPA), high fluorescence quantum yield and perfect FRET efficiency is still challenging. Consequently, to develop excellent TP-FRET ratiometric probes and explore the relationship between their molecular structures and TP fluorescence properties, in this paper, we designed a series of H2S-detecting TP fluorescent probes employing the FRET mechanism based on an experimental probe BCD. Thereafter, we comprehensively evaluated the TP sensing performance of these probes by means of time-dependent density functional theory and quadratic response theory. Furthermore, we determined energy transfer efficiency and fluorescence quantum yield. Significantly, through regulating benzene-fused positions, we successfully improved fluorescence quantum yield and TPA cross-section simultaneously. Large spectral overlap between energy donor emission and acceptor absorption was achieved and near perfect energy transfer efficiency was acquired for all the studied probes. We revealed that these probes exhibit two well-resolved TPA bands, which are contributed by FRET donors and acceptors, respectively. Especially, both the wavelengths and the cross-sections of the two TPA bands agree well with those of energy donors and acceptors, which is the unique TPA spectral profile of FRET probes and has never been previously reported. Moreover, we proposed an excellent TP-FRET probe BCD3 and its product molecule BCD3-H2S, which exhibit large Stokes (141 nm and 88 nm) and emission shifts (5931 cm-1), as well as greatly increased TP action cross-sections (24-fold and 60-fold) in the near-infrared region with respect to BCD and BCD-H2S. Our detailed study can give an insight into the efficient design of novel TP-FRET fluorescent probes.

Abstract
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is associated with a range of abnormalities characterized by deficits in socialization, communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. We have recently shown that neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) expression was decreased in the basolateral amygdala (BLA) of mice after postnatal valproic acid exposure. Neuronal activity-regulated pentraxin (Narp) could contribute to the regulation of the GluA4 2-amino-3-(5-methyl-3-oxo-1,2-oxazol-4-yl) propanoic acid (AMPA) subunits which are predominantly expressed in interneurons. However, the specific role of nNOS re-expression on excitatory neurotransmitter with relevance to ASD core symptoms in VPA-treated animals remains to be elucidated. Herein, nNOS overexpression using a lentiviral vector and L-arginine-activating PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling can restore nNOS expression in the BLA induced by VPA. Restoration of nNOS expression in these mice was sufficient to reduce the severity of ASD-like behavioral patterns such that animals exhibited decreases in abnormal social interactions and communication, stereotyped/repetitive behaviors, and anxiety-like traits. Most strikingly, re-expression of nNOS upregulated surface expression of Narp and GluA4 in nNOS-positive interneuron as shown by immunoprecipitation and Western blotting. Whole-cell patch-clamp recordings demonstrated that restoration of nNOS had a significant enhancing effect on AMPA receptor-mediated excitatory glutamatergic synaptic neurotransmission, which was inhibited by disturbing the interaction between Narp and GluA4 in acutely dissociated BLA slices. Overall, these data offer a scientific basis for the additional study of nNOS re-expression as a promising therapeutic target by correcting AMPA receptor-mediated synaptic function in ASD and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

Abstract
The adhesion between metal plasma and substrate was the key of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology. The preparation of ideal SERS substrate with multiple advantages such as high sensitivity and good signal reproducibility was still the focus of research. A flexible foldable and transparent fluorinated polyimide/silver NPs (FPI@Ag) SERS film was fabricated by the ion exchange and in-situ reduction method in this work. The effects of KOH hydrolysis time, AgNO3 ion exchange time and concentration, the type and concentration of reducing agents on the SERS performance of the FPI@Ag film were systematically discussed. As a result, the hydrolysis time of KOH affected the thickness of the metallic silver layer, the concentration of AgNO3 affected the size and spacing of Ag NPs, and the Raman signal of was remarkably enhanced when borane dimethylamine complex (DMAB) was used as reducing agent. When the detection limit of 4-Aminothiophenol was as low as 1 × 10-11 mol·L-1, the obvious Raman characteristic peak still appeared. The enhancement factor (EF) was up to 9.4 × 107. The linear quantification range was achieved in the range from 10-3-10-11 mol·L-1, R2 = 0.9987. In addition, we also performed multi-cycle bending and torsion test on the FPI@Ag film, and obtained stable Raman signals. The prepared FPI@Ag film can be attached to the surface of uneven samples, which can be used for on-site Raman detection and analysis.

Abstract
Heavy metal and antibiotic-resistant bacteria from livestock feces are ecological and public health problems. However, the distribution and relationships of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), heavy metal resistance genes (HMRGs), and virulence factors (VFs) and their transmission mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, we investigated the resistance of Escherichia coli, the prevalence of its ARGs, HMRGs, and VFs, and their transmission mechanisms in livestock fresh feces (FF), composted feces (CF), and fertilized soil (FS). In total, 99.54% (n = 221) and 91.44% (n = 203) of E. coli were resistant to at least one antibiotic and one heavy metal, respectively. Additionally, 72.52% (n = 161) were multi-drug resistant (MDR), of which Cu-resistant E. coli accounted for 72.67% (117/161). More than 99.34% (88/89) of E. coli carried multidrug ARGs, VFs, and the Cu resistance genes cueO and cusABCRFS. The Cu resistance genes cueO and cusABCRFS were mainly located on chromosomes, and cueO and cusF were positively associated with HMRGs, ARGs, and VFs. The Cu resistance genes pcoABCDRS were located on the plasmid pLKYL-P02 flanked by ARGs in PF18C from FF group and on chromosomes flanked by HMRGs in SAXZ1-1 from FS group. These results improved our understanding of bacterial multidrug and heavy metal resistance in the environment.

Abstract
High altitude could influence the level of exposure to neonicotinoids, but relevant data remain limited for people living in Tibet. We investigated 476 Tibetan pregnant women from Lhasa of Tibet, China in 2021 and measured eight neonicotinoids and four metabolites in urine. Food consumption was investigated by a food frequency questionnaire. Health risk was assessed by using hazard quotient (HQ) and hazard index (HI) based on acceptable daily dose or chronic reference dose. Neonicotinoids and metabolites were overall detected in 56.5% of urine samples with a median concentration being 0.73 μg g-1 creatinine. Four neonicotinoids or metabolites were detected in more than 10% of urine samples, including N-desmethyl-acetamiprid (47.5%), clothianidin (15.5%), thiamethoxam (16.0%), and imidacloprid (10.5%). Annual household income, family smoking, and pre-pregnancy body mass index were associated with the detection frequencies of neonicotinoids. Pregnant women with a higher consumption frequency of wheat, rice, fresh vegetable, fresh fruit, beef and mutton, fresh milk, yoghourt, candy and chocolate, or carbonated drinks had a higher detection frequency of neonicotinoids. Both HQ and HI were less than one. There was an evident exposure to neonicotinoids in Tibetan pregnant women with both plant- and animal-derived food items as exposure sources, but a low health risk was found based on current safety thresholds.

Abstract
Earthen sites are the important cultural heritage that carriers of human civilization and contains abundant history information. Microorganisms are one of important factors causing the deterioration of cultural heritage. However, little attention has been paid to the role of biological factors on the deterioration of earthen sites at present. In this study, microbial communities of Jinsha earthen site soils with different deterioration types and degrees as well as related to environmental factors were analyzed. The results showed that the concentrations of Mg2+ and SO42- were higher in the severe deterioration degree soils than in the minor deterioration degree soils. The Chao1 richness and Shannon diversity indices of bacteria in different type deterioration were higher in the summer than in the winter; the Chao1 and Shannon indices of fungi were lower in the summer. The differences in bacterial and fungal communities were associated with differences in Na+, K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+ contents. Based on both the relative abundances in amplicon sequencing and isolated strains, the bacterial phyla Actinobacteria, Firmicutes and Proteobacteria, and the Ascomycota genera Aspergillus, Cladosporium and Penicillium were common in all soils. The OTUs enriched in the severe deterioration degree soils were mostly assigned to Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria, whereas the Firmicutes OTUs differentially abundant in the severe deterioration degree were all depleted. All bacterial isolates produced alkali, implying that the deterioration on Jinsha earthen site may be accelerated through alkali production. The fungal isolates included both alkali and acid producing strains. The fungi with strong ability to produce acid were mainly from the severe deterioration degree samples and were likely to contribute to the deterioration. Taken together, the interaction between soil microbial communities and environment may affect the soil deterioration, accelerate the deterioration process and threaten the long-term preservation of Jinsha earthen site.

Abstract
Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) inhibitory peptides were screened and identified from yak hemoglobin for the first time by in silico analysis, molecular docking, and in vitro evaluation. Results showed that yak hemoglobin had a high potential to produce DPP-IV inhibitory peptides based on the sequence alignment and bioactive potential evaluation. Furthermore, "pancreatic elastase + stem bromelain" was the optimal combined-enzymatic strategy by simulated proteolysis. Additionally, 25 novel peptides were found from its simulated hydrolysate, among which 10 peptides had high binding affinities with DPP-IV by molecular docking. Most of these peptides were also in silico characterized with favorable physicochemical properties and biological potentials, including relatively low molecular weight, high hydrophobicity, several net charges, good water solubility, nontoxicity, acceptable sensory quality, and good human intestinal absorption. Finally, six novel DPP-IV inhibitory peptides were identified via in vitro assessment, among which EEKA (IC50 = 235.26 μM), DEV (IC50 = 339.45 μM), and HCDKL (IC50 = 632.93 μM) showed the strongest capacities. The hydrogen bonds and electrostatic attractions formed with core residues within the S2 pocket of DPP-IV could be mainly responsible for their inhibition performances. This work provided a time-saving method and broadened application for yak by-products development as sources of functional foods.

Abstract
Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy worldwide. Although significant progress has been made in understanding the genetic and molecular alterations that drive thyroid cancer, the mechanisms underlying thyroid tumor progression remain unclear. In this study, we explored the involvement of Plastin-3 (PLS3) in the progression of papillary thyroid cancer and elucidated the underlying molecular mechanisms. We first analyzed clinical samples from papillary thyroid cancer patients and found that PLS3 expression was significantly upregulated in tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues. Moreover, high PLS3 expression was associated with advanced tumor stage and poor prognosis. Further in vitro and in vivo experiments showed that PLS3 could promote the proliferation, migration, and invasive behavior of papillary thyroid cancer cells, while PLS3 knockdown suppressed these processes. Mechanistically, we found that PLS3 promoted papillary thyroid cancer progression by activating the Notch signaling pathway. Specifically, PLS3 upregulated the expression of Notch receptors (Notch1) and downstream target gene (Hes1) in papillary thyroid cancer cells. In summary, our findings collectively indicate that PLS3 plays a pivotal role in driving the progression of papillary thyroid cancer and holds promise as a viable therapeutic target for the treatment of this disease.

Abstract
Bifunctional ligand-enabled cooperative gold catalysis accelerates nucleophilic attacks and offers a versatile strategy to achieve asymmetric gold catalysis. Distinct from the prior studies employing alkyne/allene as the electrophilic site, this work engages an in situ-generated alkenyl/acyl gold carbene in a ligand-facilitated attack by an alcoholic nucleophile. With an amide-functionalized chiral binaphthylphosphine ligand, γ-alkoxy-α,β-unsaturated imides are formed with excellent enantiomeric excesses. The intermediacy of a carbene species is supported by its alternative access via dediazotization. The reaction tolerates a broad range of alcohols and can accommodate dienynamide substrates, in addition to arylenynamides. This work avails a versatile strategy to enrich gold chemistry and achieve challenging enantioselective gold catalysis via ligand-facilitated enantioselective trapping of reactive intermediates.

Abstract
Controlling temperature distribution at the micro/nano-scale brings new applications in many fields such as physics, chemistry and biology. This paper proposes a photothermal metasurface that employs polarization and wavelength multiplexing to regulate various temperature distributions at the micro/nano-scale. Such a photothermal metasurface is numerically validated by the finite element method. Firstly, the inversion algorithm is used to calculate the thermal power density distribution, which is decided by a given temperature distribution. Then, based on the bottom-up design method, (a) the library of absorption cross sections of gold nanoparticles is established by resizing nanoparticles; (b) the single pixel is constructed for wavelength and polarization multiplexing; (c) the overall structure of a photothermal metasurface is optimized and established. Finally, four given temperature distributions, combining the multiplexing of two orthogonal polarizations and two wavelengths, are achieved in the same area. The simulation results well confirm the feasibility of photothermal multiplexing. Such photothermal metasurface provides solutions for flexible control of temperature distribution at the micro/nano-scale.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the risk factors for disease progression after initial treatment of type B thymomas using a predictive nomogram model. METHODS A single-center retrospective study of patients with type B thymoma was performed. The Cox proportional hazard model was used for univariate and multivariate analyses. Variables with statistical and clinical significance in the multivariate Cox regression were integrated into a nomogram to establish a predictive model for disease progression. RESULTS A total of 353 cases with type B thymoma were retrieved between January 2012 and December 2021. The median follow-up was 58 months (range: 1-128 months). The 10-year progression-free survival (PFS) was 91.8%. The final nomogram model included R0 resection status and Masaoka stage, with a concordance index of 0.880. Non-R0 resection and advanced Masaoka stage were negative prognostic factors for disease progression (p < 0.001). No benefits of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) were observed in patients with advanced stage and non-R0 resection (p = 0.114 and 0.284, respectively). CONCLUSION The best treatment strategy for type B thymoma is the detection and achievement of R0 resection as early as possible. Long-term follow-up is necessary, especially for patients with advanced Masaoka stage and who have not achieved R0 resection. No prognostic benefits were observed for PORT.

Abstract
Alkene radical ions constitute an integral and unique class of reactive intermediates for the synthesis of valuable compounds because they have both unpaired spins and charge. However, relatively few synthetic applications of alkene radical anions have emerged due to a dearth of generally applicable and mild radical anion generation approaches. Precise control over the chemo- and stereoselectivity in alkene radical anion-mediated processes represents another long-standing challenge due to their high reactivity. To overcome these issues, here, we develop a new redox-neutral strategy that seamlessly merges photoredox and copper catalysis to enable the controlled generation of alkene radical anions and their orthogonal enantioselective cyanofunctionalization via distonic-like species. This new strategy enables highly regio-, chemo-, and enantioselective hydrocyanation, deuterocyanation, and cyanocarboxylation of alkenes without stoichiometric reductants or oxidants under visible light irradiation. This protocol provides a new blueprint for the exploration of the transformation potential of alkene radical anions.

Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the value of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) in the diagnosis of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) . Methods: The data of 98 patients with suspected pulmonary infection after allo-HSCT who underwent pathogen detection from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid between June 2016 and August 2023 at Nanfang Hospital were analyzed. The diagnostic performance of mNGS, conventional methods, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) for PJP were compared. Results: A total of 12 patients were diagnosed with PJP, including 11 with a proven diagnosis and 1 with a probable diagnosis. Among the patients with a proven diagnosis, 1 was positive by both conventional methods and qPCR, and 10 were positive by qPCR only. Pneumocystis jirovecii was detected by mNGS in all 12 patients. The diagnostic sensitivity of mNGS for PJP was 100%, which was greater than that of conventional methods (8.3%, P=0.001) and similar to that of qPCR (91.6%, P=1.000) . A total of 75% of the patients developed mixed pulmonary infections, and cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus were the most common pathogens. Mixed infection was detected in eight patients by mNGS and in five patients by qPCR, but not by conventional methods (P=0.008) . Conclusions: mNGS had good sensitivity for diagnosing PJP after allo-HSCT and was advantageous for detecting mixed infectious pathogens; therefore, mNGS might be an effective supplement to regular detection methods and qPCR.

Abstract
Objective Increasing evidence indicated that schizophrenia and obesity are associated with altered mitochondrial and immune function. In this study, we investigated the levels of CRP (C-reactive protein) and mitochondrial lymphocytes in chronically treated schizophrenia patients with atypical antipsychotic medications and further explored the relationship between mitochondrial lymphocyte and weight gain as well as cognitive function in these patients. Methods We evaluated the mitochondrial lymphocyte count of 97 patients (53 overweight, 44 non-overweight) and 100 healthy controls using mitochondrial fluorescence staining and flow cytometry (NovoCyte, Agilent Technologies, US). The serum CRP was measured by high-sensitivity enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Clinical symptoms and cognitive function of the patients were assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). Results The results showed that mitochondrial lymphocyte counts of CD3+ T, CD3+CD4+ T, and CD3+CD8+ T cells in schizophrenia patients were higher than in the control group (p < 0.05). Additionally, overweight patients had significantly higher mitochondrial lymphocyte counts of CD3+ T and CD3+CD4+ T cells compared to schizophrenia patients with normal weight. Stratified analysis by gender revealed that there was a statistically significant difference in CD3+CD4+ mitochondrial lymphocyte count in male patients (p = 0.014) and a marginal trend toward significance in female patients (p = 0.058). Furthermore, the mitochondrial lymphocyte counts of CD3+ T and CD3+CD4+ T cells, as well as CRP levels, were positively correlated with BMI in schizophrenia patients, but the mitochondrial lymphocyte counts of CD3+CD4+ T cells were negatively correlated with the language scale in the RBANS. Conclusion Our study results provide evidence for the association between altered mitochondrial T lymphocyte and weight gain as well as cognitive impairment in schizophrenia patients treated with atypical antipsychotic medications.

Abstract
The inflammatory process mediated by nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor family pyrin domain comprising 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays a predominant role in the neurological dysfunction following traumatic brain injury (TBI). SB332235, a highly selective antagonist of chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2), has been demonstrated to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and improve neurological outcomes in the central nervous system. We aimed to determine the neuroprotective effects of SB332235 in the acute phase after TBI in mice and to elucidate its underlying mechanisms. Male C57BL/6J animals were exposed to a controlled cortical impact, then received 4 doses of SB332235, with the first dose administered at 30 min after TBI, followed by additional doses at 6, 24, and 30 h. Neurological defects were assessed by the modified neurological severity score, while the motor function was evaluated using the beam balance and open field tests. Cognitive performance was evaluated using the novel object recognition test. Brain tissues were collected for pathological, Western blot, and immunohistochemical analyses. The results showed that SB332235 significantly ameliorated TBI-induced deficits, including motor and cognitive impairments. SB332235 administration suppressed expression of both CXCL1 and CXCR2 in TBI. Moreover, SB332235 substantially mitigated the augmented expression levels and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome within the peri-contusional cortex induced by TBI. This was accompanied by the blocking of subsequent production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Additionally, SB332235 hindered microglial activity induced by TBI. These findings confirmed the neuroprotective effects of SB332235 against TBI, and the involved mechanisms were in part due to the suppression of NLRP3 inflammasome activity. This study suggests that SB332235 may act as an anti-inflammatory agent to improve functional outcomes in brain injury when applied clinically.

Abstract
Water pollution induced by antibiotics has garnered considerable concern, necessitating urgent and effective removal methods. This study focused on exploring ciprofloxacin (CIP) removal by duckweed and assessing CIP bioaccumulation and toxic effects within duckweed under varying dissolved organic matter categories, pH levels, and nutrient (nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)) levels. The results revealed the proficient and rapid elimination of CIP from water by duckweed, resulting in 86.17 % to 92.82 % removal efficiency at the end of the 7-day experiment. Across all exposure groups, varying degrees of CIP bioaccumulation in duckweed were evident, with uptake established as a primary pathway for CIP elimination within this plant. Additionally, five CIP metabolites were identified in duckweed tissues. Interestingly, the presence of humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) reduced CIP absorption by duckweed, with FA yielding a more pronounced impact. Optimal CIP removal was recorded at a pH of 7.5, while duckweed displayed heightened physiological stress induced by CIP at pH 8.5. Although the influence of N and P concentrations on CIP removal by duckweed was modest, excessive N and P levels intensified the physiological strain of CIP on duckweed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Neonicotinoids are the most widely used insecticides. Laboratory studies have suggested that neonicotinoids are one potential obesogen, but relevant data are limited in human. OBJECTIVE To examine the association between exposure to neonicotinoids and childhood obesity. METHODS We investigated 442 children in Shanghai, East China and measured eight neonicotinoids (thiamethoxam, clothianidin, acetamiprid, imidacloprid, thiacloprid, nitenpyram, dinotefuran, and imidaclothiz) and four metabolites (N-desmethyl-thiamethoxam, N-desmethyl-clothianidin, N-desmethyl-acetamiprid, and 5-OH-imidacloprid) in urine. Body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) were used to identify general overweight/obesity and central obesity, respectively. Linear and logistic regression models based on generalized estimating equations were used to investigate the associations of urinary neonicotinoids and metabolites with BMI z-score, WC z-score, general overweight/obesity, and central obesity. RESULTS Children with a positive detection of clothianidin and its metabolite had a marginally higher BMI z-score (regression coefficient (β): 0.08, 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 0.01, 0.14) after adjusted for relevant covariates. After creatinine-adjusted concentration was trichotomized, compared to children with a negative detection, children in the high urinary concentration of acetamiprid and its metabolite had a low BMI z-score (β: -0.19, 95%CI: -0.30, -0.08), children in the medium urinary concentration of neonicotinoids and metabolites other than thiamethoxam, clothianidin, acetamiprid, and their metabolites had a marginally higher BMI z-score (β: 0.25, 95%CI: 0.03, 0.46), a higher WC z-score (β: 0.24, 95%CI: 0.14, 0.33), and a higher odds of central obesity (odds ratio (OR): 2.16, 95% CI: 1.28, 3.63), and children in the medium urinary concentration of all neonicotinoids and metabolites had a higher odds of central obesity (OR: 1.55, 95%CI: 1.04, 2.33). Some associations showed sex- and age- related differences. CONCLUSION Urinary neonicotinoids and metabolites were found to be differently associated with obesity-related indexes, which suggested that exposure to neonicotinoids might have a mixed effect on childhood obesity.

Abstract
Introduction: To evaluate whether both acute and chronic low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) affect brain functions of healthy male and female mice. Methods: Ultrasound (frequency: 1.5 MHz; pulse: 1.0 kHz; spatial average temporal average (SATA) intensity: 25 mW/cm2; and pulse duty cycle: 20%) was applied at mouse head in acute test for 20 minutes, and in chronic experiment for consecutive 10 days, respectively. Behaviors were then evaluated. Results: Both acute and chronic LIPUS at 25 mW/cm2 exposure did not affect the abilities of movements, mating, social interaction, and anxiety-like behaviors in the male and female mice. However, physical restraint caused struggle-like behaviors and short-time memory deficits in chronic LIPUS groups in the male mice. Conclusion: LIPUS at 25 mW/cm2 itself does not affect brain functions, while physical restraint for LIPUS therapy elicits struggle-like behaviors in the male mice. An unbound helmet targeted with ultrasound intensity at 25-50 mW/cm2 is proposed for clinical brain disease therapy.

Abstract
Uncertainty has been demonstrated to influence the perception of noxious stimuli, but little is known about the effects of prolonged uncertain contexts on the perception of painful and non-painful stimuli. To address this knowledge gap, the present study utilized a cue-based NPU-threat task, where uncertain and certain trials were separated into distinct blocks. The objective was to investigate the impact of uncertain contexts on the temporal dynamics of electroencephalogram (EEG) activity during the processing of painful and non-painful stimuli. The results revealed that the influence of uncertain contexts on neural responses extends beyond painful trials and is also evident in non-painful trials. In uncertain contexts, it has been observed that painful stimuli elicit larger P2 amplitudes and late beta band (13-30 Hz) event-related desynchronization (ERD) around 500-700 ms. However, in certain contexts, painful stimuli evoke stronger late gamma band (50-70 Hz) event-related synchronization (ERS) around 600-700 ms. For non-painful trials, in uncertain contexts, significantly higher amplitudes of the late positive potential (LPP) component and delta-theta band (2-7 Hz) ERS were observed compared to certain non-painful stimuli. These findings demonstrate that uncertain contexts exert a significant impact on the processing of both painful and non-painful stimuli, and this influence is mediated by distinct neural mechanisms.

Abstract
The angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitory peptide SQPK was selected by in silico digestion and virtual screening from goat β-casein, and its effect and regulatory mechanism on function of endothelial cells was further evaluated. The results showed that SQPK exhibited relatively good ACE inhibition capacity (IC50 = 452.7 μg/mL). Treatment with 25 μg/mL SQPK for 12 h significantly elevated nitric oxide (NO) production, stimulated eNOS expression (p < 0.05) and affected the transcriptomic profiling of EA. Hy926 cells. In particular, SQPK stimulated the expression of genes encoding inflammatory cytokines (CXCL1/2 and IL6) but depressed encoding mesenchymal markers (FN1 and CNN3). Furthermore, SQPK modified the expression of genes involved in endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT). Therefore, the selected peptide SQPK may exert potential protective effects on the function of endothelial cells by inhibiting the EndMT.

Abstract
The current treatment strategy for rectal cancer is a comprehensive treatment centered on surgery. The application of total mesorectal excision (TME) has significantly reduced the local recurrence rate and improved the survival prognosis, but a series of pelvic organ dysfunction caused by pelvic autonomic nerve injury during the operation will reduce the postoperative quality of life of patients. Pelvic autonomic nerve preserving (PANP) radical proctectomy has emerged, but the biggest challenge in the implementation process of this technology is the accurate identification of nerves. A series of studies have shown that pelvic intraoperative autonomic monitoring (pIONM) can effectively assist surgeons to identify nerves, The purpose of this article is to introduce the function of pelvic autonomic nerve, the clinical manifestation of postoperative pelvic dysfunction and its relationship with nerve injury, the key points of implementing PANP, and the current situation and research progress of pIONM technology application.

Abstract
The loquat (Eriobotrya japonica L.) is a special evergreen tree, and its fruit is of high medical and health value as well as having stable market demand around the world. In recent years, research on the accumulation of nutrients in loquat fruit, such as carotenoids, flavonoids, and terpenoids, has become a hotspot. The SBP-box gene family encodes transcription factors involved in plant growth and development. However, there has been no report on the SBP-box gene family in the loquat genome and their functions in carotenoid biosynthesis and fruit ripening. In this study, we identified 28 EjSBP genes in the loquat genome, which were unevenly distributed on 12 chromosomes. We also systematically investigated the phylogenetic relationship, collinearity, gene structure, conserved motifs, and cis-elements of EjSBP proteins. Most EjSBP genes showed high expression in the root, stem, leaf, and inflorescence, while only five EjSBP genes were highly expressed in the fruit. Gene expression analysis revealed eight differentially expressed EjSBP genes between yellow- and white-fleshed fruits, suggesting that the EjSBP genes play important roles in loquat fruit development at the breaker stage. Notably, EjSBP01 and EjSBP19 exhibited completely opposite expression patterns between white- and yellow-fleshed fruits during fruit development, and showed a close relationship with SlCnr involved in carotenoid biosynthesis and fruit ripening, indicating that these two genes may participate in the synthesis and accumulation of carotenoids in loquat fruit. In summary, this study provides comprehensive information about the SBP-box gene family in the loquat, and identified two EjSBP genes as candidates involved in carotenoid synthesis and accumulation during loquat fruit development.

Abstract
Enantioselective gold catalysis remains a challenging area of research. By harnessing gold-ligand cooperation in the presence of a chiral bifunctional phosphine ligand featuring a novel 3'-phosphine oxide moiety, highly enantioselective desymmetrization of 1-ethynylcyclobutanols is achieved, permitting access to chiral α-methylenecyclopentanones featuring a diverse array of chiral quaternary and tertiary centers. This cooperative gold catalysis also enables parallel kinetic resolution in gold catalysis, delivering cyclopentanone regioisomers with excellent enantiomeric excesses. DFT calculations of the transition states support the distinct mechanism of asymmetric induction via controlling the conformation of the bound substrate and hence dictating the ring bond undergoing migration.

Abstract
Background Sleep disorders are prevalent among patients with schizophrenia and are associated with several negative consequences. Although, researchers have recently suggested that sleep disorders have a close correlation with alexithymia, and schizophrenia also has a strong correlation with alexithymia, there have been few studies on the relationships between schizophrenia, sleep disorders and alexithymia. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the relationships between psychiatric symptoms, alexithymia and sleep problems in patients with schizophrenia so as to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of this comorbidity. Methods In total, 977 patients with schizophrenia were recruited for this study. The Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) was used to assess sleep disorders, and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) and Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS) were used to evaluate clinical symptoms, cognitive functions and the ability to express emotion, respectively. Results The results indicated that the PANSS subscales (G-subscore) and TAS group were risk factors for insomnia in schizophrenia patients (all p < 0.05). The mediation model showed the standardized path coefficients from schizophrenia to alexithymia (β = 0.104, p < 0.001) and from alexithymia to insomnia (β = 0.038, p < 0.001) were statistically significant. Conclusion The results of this study indicated that alexithymia is associated with sleep disturbance in patients with schizophrenia. These findings may provide a new avenue for the treatment of schizophrenia patients with sleep disorders.

Abstract
Thermoresponsive polymer gels are a type of intelligent material that can react to changes in temperature. These materials possess excellent innovative properties and find use in various fields. This paper systematically analyzes the methods for testing and regulating phase transition temperatures of thermo-responsive polymer gels based on their response mechanism. The report thoroughly introduces the latest research on thermo-responsive polymer gels in oil and gas extraction, discussing their advantages and challenges across various environments. Additionally, it elucidates how the application limitations of high-temperature and high-salt conditions can be resolved through process optimization and material innovation, ultimately broadening the scope of application of thermo-responsive polymer gels in oil and gas extraction. The article discusses the technological development and potential applications of thermo-responsive polymer gels in oil-based drilling fluids. This analysis aims to offer researchers in the oil and gas industry detailed insights into future possibilities for thermo-responsive polymer gels and to provide helpful guidance for their practical use in oil-based drilling fluids.

Abstract
The immune-related microenvironment of thymic carcinoid has rarely been reported. We analyzed the expression of PD-L1 and VISTA, and the distribution of CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells and CD68+ macrophages in the thymic carcinoid by immunohistochemical staining, and showed the correlation between these markers and clinical survival, indicating the potential therapeutic prospects.
