Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-anatomical factors significantly affect treatment guidance and prognostic prediction in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. Here, we developed a novel survival model by combining conventional TNM staging and serological indicators. METHODS We retrospectively enrolled 10,914 eligible patients with nonmetastatic NPC over 2009-2017 and randomly divided them into training (n = 7672) and validation (n = 3242) cohorts. The new staging system was constructed based on T category, N category, and pretreatment serological markers by using recursive partitioning analysis (RPA). RESULTS In multivariate Cox analysis, pretreatment cell-free Epstein-Barr virus (cfEBV) DNA levels of >2000 copies/mL [HROS (95 % CI) = 1.78 (1.57-2.02)], elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels [HROS (95 % CI) = 1.64 (1.41-1.92)], and C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) of >0.04 [HROS (95 % CI) = 1.20 (1.07-1.34)] were associated with negative prognosis (all P < 0.05). Through RPA, we stratified patients into four risk groups: RPA I (n = 3209), RPA II (n = 2063), RPA III (n = 1263), and RPA IV (n = 1137), with 5-year overall survival (OS) rates of 93.2 %, 86.0 %, 80.6 %, and 71.9 % (all P < 0.001), respectively. Compared with the TNM staging system (eighth edition), RPA risk grouping demonstrated higher prognostic prediction efficacy in the training [area under the curve (AUC) = 0.661 vs. 0.631, P < 0.001] and validation (AUC = 0.687 vs. 0.654, P = 0.001) cohorts. Furthermore, our model could distinguish sensitive patients suitable for induction chemotherapy well. CONCLUSION Our novel RPA staging model outperformed the current TNM staging system in prognostic prediction and clinical decision-making. We recommend incorporating cfEBV DNA, LDH, and CAR into the TNM staging system.

Abstract
Abnormal activation of the oncogene YAP in the Hippo pathway is a major feature in liver cancer and inactivation of MST1/2 has been shown to be responsible for the overactivation of YAP that led to tumorigenesis. However, mechanisms underlying MST1/2 dysregulation remain poorly understood. RNA-seq analysis and genome (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis were used to identify genes and pathways that were regulated by SIRT7. qRT-PCR, ChIP, and luciferase assay were used to investigate transcriptional regulation. Mass spectrometry, co-immunoprecipitation and immunoprecipitation were used to exam protein-protein interaction and post-transcriptional modification. A xenograft mouse model was used to confirm the effect of SIRT7 and SIRT7 inhibitors on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) proliferation in vivo. We found that SIRT7 suppresses MST1 by both transcriptional regulation and post-transcriptional modification, which in turn promotes YAP nuclear localization and transcriptional activation in liver cancer. Mechanistically, we revealed that SIRT7 suppresses MST1 transcription by binding to the MST1 promoter and inducing H3K18 deacetylation in its promoter region. In addition, SIRT7 directly binds to and deacetylates MST1, which primes acetylation-dependent MST1 ubiquitination and protein degradation. In clinical samples, we confirmed a negative correlation between SIRT7 and MST1 protein levels, and high SIRT7 expression correlated with elevated YAP expression and nuclear localization. In addition, SIRT7 specific inhibitor 2800Z sufficiently inhibited HCC growth by disrupting the SIRT7/MST1/YAP axis. Our data thus revealed the previously undescribed function of SIRT7 in regulating the Hippo pathway in HCC and further proved that targeting SIRT7 might provide novel therapeutic options for the treatment of liver cancer.

Abstract
Neutrophilic asthma is a persistent and severe inflammatory lung disease characterized by neutrophil activation and the mechanisms of which are not completely elucidated. Ubiquitin D (UBD) is a ubiquitin-like modifier participating in infections, immune responses, and tumorigenesis, while whether UBD involves in neutrophilic asthma needs further study. In this study, we initially found that UBD expression was significantly elevated and interleukin 17 (IL-17) signaling was enriched in the endobronchial biopsies of severe asthma along with neutrophils increasing by bioinformatics analysis. We further confirmed that UBD was upregulated in the lung tissues of neutrophilic asthma mouse model. UBD overexpression promoted IL-17 signaling activation. Knockdown of UBD suppressed the activation of IL-17 signaling. UBD interacted with TRAF2 and reduced the total and the K48-linked ubiquitination of TRAF2. However, IL-17 A stimulation increased both the total and the K48-linked ubiquitination of TRAF2. Together, these findings indicated that UBD was upregulated and played a critical role in IL-17 signaling which contributed to a better understanding of the complex mechanisms in neutrophilic asthma.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Leucine (Leu) is an essential amino acid that facilitates skeletal muscle satellite cell differentiation, yet its mechanism remains underexplored. Sestrin2 (SESN2) serves as a Leu sensor, binding directly to Leu, while ribophorin II (RPN2) acts as a signaling factor in multiple pathways. This study aimed to elucidate Leu's impact on mouse C2C12 cell differentiation and skeletal muscle injury repair by modulating RPN2 expression through SESN2, offering a theoretical foundation for clinical skeletal muscle injury prevention and treatment. RESULTS Leu addition promoted C2C12 cell differentiation compared to the control, enhancing early differentiation via myogenic determinant (MYOD) up-regulation. Sequencing revealed SESN2 binding to and interacting with RPN2. RPN2 overexpression up-regulated MYOD, myogenin and myosin heavy chain 2, concurrently decreased p-GSK3β and increased nuclear β-catenin. Conversely, RPN2 knockdown yielded opposite results. Combining RPN2 knockdown with Leu rescued increased p-GSK3β and decreased nuclear β-catenin compared to Leu absence. Hematoxylin and eosin staining results showed that Leu addition accelerated mouse muscle damage repair, up-regulating Pax7, MYOD and RPN2 in the cytoplasm, and nuclear β-catenin, confirming that the role of Leu in muscle injury repair was consistent with the results for C2C12 cells. CONCLUSION Leu, bound with SESN2, up-regulated RPN2 expression, activated the GSK3β/β-catenin pathway, enhanced C2C12 differentiation and expedited skeletal muscle damage repair. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) appears to be a promising technique for the removal of sessile serrated polyps (SSPs) ≥ 10 mm. To assess the effectiveness and safety of EMR for removing SSPs ≥ 10 mm, we conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS We conducted a thorough search of Embase, PubMed, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases for relevant studies reporting on EMR of SSPs ≥ 10 mm, up until December 2023. Our primary endpoints of interest were rates of technical success, residual SSPs, and adverse events (AE). RESULTS Our search identified 426 articles, of which 14 studies with 2262 SSPs were included for analysis. The rates of technical success, AEs, and residual SSPs were 100%, 2.0%, and 3.1%, respectively. Subgroup analysis showed that the technical success rates were the same for polyps 10-19 and 20 mm, and en-bloc and piecemeal resection. Residual SSPs rates were similar in en-bloc and piecemeal resection, but much lower in cold EMR (1.0% vs. 4.2%, P = 0.034). AEs rates were reduced in cold EMR compared to hot EMR (0% vs. 2.9%, P = 0.168), in polyps 10-19 mm compared to 20 mm (0% vs. 4.1%, P = 0.255), and in piecemeal resection compared to en-bloc (0% vs. 0.7%, P = 0.169). CONCLUSIONS EMR is an effective and safe technique for removing SSPs ≥ 10 mm. The therapeutic effect of cold EMR is superior to that of hot EMR, with a lower incidence of adverse effects. Liver cancer is the sixth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer-related death globally. Despite efforts being made in last two decades in cancer diagnosis and treatment, the 5-year survival rate of liver cancer remains extremely low. TRIM21 participates in cancer metabolism, glycolysis, immunity, chemosensitivity and metastasis by targeting various substrates for ubiquitination. TRIM21 serves as a prognosis marker for human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the mechanism by which TRIM21 regulates HCC tumorigenesis and progression remains elusive. In this study, we demonstrated that TRIM21 protein levels were elevated in human HCC. Elevated TRIM21 expression was associated with HCC progression and poor survival. Knockdown of TRIM21 in HCC cell lines significantly impaired cell growth and metastasis and enhanced sorafenib-induced toxicity. Mechanistically, we found that knockdown of TRIM21 resulted in cytosolic translocation and inactivation of YAP. At the molecular level, we further identified that TRIM21 interacted and induced ubiquitination of MST1, which resulted in MST1 degradation and YAP activation. Knockdown of MST1 or overexpression of YAP reversed TRIM21 knockdown-induced impairment of HCC growth and chemosensitivity. Taken together, the current study demonstrates a novel mechanism that regulates the Hippo pathway and reveals TRM21 as a critical factor that promotes growth and chemoresistance in human HCC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Hepatotoxicity is a well-defined reaction to methotrexate (MTX), a drug commonly used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and various tumours. We sought to elucidate the mechanism underlying MTX-induced hepatotoxicity and establish a potentially effective intervention strategy. METHODS We administered MTX to liver cells and mice and assessed hepatotoxicity by cell viability assay and hepatic pathological changes. We determined ferroptosis and ferritinophagy by detecting ferroptosis-related markers and autophagic degradation of ferritin heavy chain 1 (FTH1). RESULTS We have shown that hepatocytes treated with MTX undergo ferroptosis, and this process can be attenuated by ferroptosis inhibitors. Interestingly, NCOA4-mediated ferritinophagy was found to be involved in MTX-induced ferroptosis, which was demonstrated by the relief of ferroptosis through the inhibition of autophagy or knockdown of Ncoa4. Furthermore, MTX treatment resulted in the elevation of high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) expression. The depletion of Hmgb1 in hepatocytes considerably alleviated MTX-induced hepatotoxicity by limiting autophagy and the subsequent autophagy-dependent ferroptosis. It is noteworthy that glycyrrhizic acid (GA), a precise inhibitor of HMGB1, effectively suppressed autophagy, ferroptosis and hepatotoxicity caused by MTX. CONCLUSION Our study shows the significant roles of autophagy-dependent ferroptosis and HMGB1 in MTX-induced hepatotoxicity. It emphasizes that the inhibition of ferritinophagy and HMGB1 may have potential as a therapeutic approach for preventing and treating MTX-induced liver injury.

Abstract
Background The purpose of this study was to critically review the existing literature on the effects of active video games (AVGs) on physical activity in overweight and obese college students to determine whether AVGs can promote and achieve recommended levels of physical activity. The results should provide constructive input for future research. Methods A total of five international databases including PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, CINAHL Plus, and EBSCOhost were searched with keywords related to "active video games," "physical activity," and "obese college students" from July 2022. A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA guidelines and randomised controlled trial (RCT) studies that met the inclusion criteria were included. Furthermore, the quality assessment of the studies was measured using the PEDro scale. Results One thousand and twenty-three articles were retrieved, of which eight randomised controlled trial studies met the inclusion criteria. AVGs can reduce sedentary behaviour and positively affect physical activity, time spent on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), positive psychological factors, and game attendance rate. Combining AVGs with other assistive devices (such as mini-trampolines and stationary bikes) can enhance the effects of AVGs and provide greater physiological stimulation. Different types of AVGs and game modes can achieve different emotional responses, physiological stimulation, and physical activity levels. Conclusion The research findings prove that AVGs can be a viable intervention to increase physical activity in overweight or obese college students, ultimately reaching the recommended physical activity level(PAL). Physical activity can be further increased by incorporating assistive devices or using features supported by self-determination theory (SDT). Abstract
The protein 4.1R is an essential component of the erythrocyte membrane skeleton, serving as a key structural element and contributing to the regulation of the membrane's physical properties, including mechanical stability and deformability, through its interaction with spectrin-actin. Recent research has uncovered additional roles of 4.1R beyond its function as a linker between the plasma membrane and the membrane skeleton. It has been found to play a crucial role in various biological processes, such as cell fate determination, cell cycle regulation, cell proliferation, and cell motility. Additionally, 4.1R has been implicated in cancer, with numerous studies demonstrating its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for tumors. In this review, we provide an updated overview of the gene and protein structure of 4.1R, as well as its cellular functions in both physiological and pathological contexts.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES We aimed to develop a multi-modality model to predict axillary lymph node (ALN) metastasis by combining clinical predictors with radiomic features from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammography (MMG) in breast cancer. This model might potentially eliminate unnecessary axillary surgery in cases without ALN metastasis, thereby minimizing surgery-related complications. METHODS We retrospectively enrolled 485 breast cancer patients from two hospitals and extracted radiomics features from tumor and lymph node regions on MRI and MMG images. After feature selection, three random forest models were built using the retained features, respectively. Significant clinical factors were integrated with these radiomics models to construct a multi-modality model. The multi-modality model was compared to radiologists' diagnoses on axillary ultrasound and MRI. It was also used to assist radiologists in making a secondary diagnosis on MRI. RESULTS The multi-modality model showed superior performance with AUCs of 0.964 in the training cohort, 0.916 in the internal validation cohort, and 0.892 in the external validation cohort. It surpassed single-modality models and radiologists' ALN diagnosis on MRI and axillary ultrasound in all validation cohorts. Additionally, the multi-modality model improved radiologists' MRI-based ALN diagnostic ability, increasing the average accuracy from 70.70 to 78.16% for radiologist A and from 75.42 to 81.38% for radiologist B. CONCLUSION The multi-modality model can predict ALN metastasis of breast cancer accurately. Moreover, the artificial intelligence (AI) model also assisted the radiologists to improve their diagnostic ability on MRI. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT The multi-modality model based on both MRI and mammography images allows preoperative prediction of axillary lymph node metastasis in breast cancer patients. With the assistance of the model, the diagnostic efficacy of radiologists can be further improved. KEY POINTS • We developed a novel multi-modality model that combines MRI and mammography radiomics with clinical factors to accurately predict axillary lymph node (ALN) metastasis, which has not been previously reported. • Our multi-modality model outperformed both the radiologists' ALN diagnosis based on MRI and axillary ultrasound, as well as single-modality radiomics models based on MRI or mammography. • The multi-modality model can serve as a potential decision support tool to improve the radiologists' ALN diagnosis on MRI.

Abstract
As urban economies flourish and populations become increasingly concentrated, urban surface deformation has emerged as a critical factor in city planning that cannot be overlooked. Surface deformation in urban areas can lead to deformations in structural supports of infrastructure such as road bases and bridges, thereby posing a serious threat to public safety and creating significant safety hazards. Consequently, research focusing on the monitoring of urban surface deformation holds paramount importance. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), as an important means of earth observation, has all-day, wide-range, high-precision, etc., characteristics and is widely used in the field of surface deformation monitoring. However, traditional solitary InSAR techniques are limited in their application scenarios and computational characteristics. Additionally, the manual selection of ground control points (GCPs) is fraught with errors and uncertainties. Permanent scatterers (PS) can maintain high interferometric coherence in man-made building areas, and distributed scatterers (DS) usually show moderate coherence in areas with short vegetation; the combination of DS and PS solves the problem of manually selecting GCPs during track re-flattening and regrading, which affects the monitoring results. In this paper, 45 Sentinel-1B data from 16 February 2019 to 14 December 2021 are used as the data source in the urban area of Horqin District, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, for example. A four-threshold (coherence coefficient threshold, FaSHPS adaptive threshold, amplitude divergence index threshold, and deformation velocity interval) GCPs point screening method for PS-DS, as well as a Small Baseline Subset-Permanent Scatterers-Distributed Scatterers-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SBAS-PS-DS-InSAR) method for selecting PS and DS points as ground control points for orbit refinement and re-flattening, are proposed. The surface deformation results obtained using the Small Baseline Subset Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SBAS-InSAR) and the SBAS-PS-DS-InSAR proposed in this paper were comparatively analysed and verified. The maximum cumulative line-of-sight settlements were -90.78 mm and -83.68 mm, and the maximum cumulative uplifts are 74.94 mm and 97.56 mm, respectively; the maximum annual average line-of-sight settlements are -35.38 mm/y and -30.38 mm/y, and the maximum annual average uplifts are 25.27 mm/y and 27.92 mm/y. The results were evaluated and analysed in terms of correlation, mean absolute error (MAE), and root mean square error (RMSE). The deformation results of the two InSAR methods were evaluated and analysed in terms of correlation, MAE, and RMSE. The errors show that the Pearson correlation coefficients between the vertical settlement results obtained using the SBAS-PS-DS-InSAR method and the GPS monitoring results were closer to 1. The maximum MAE and RMSE were 13.7625 mm and 14.8004 mm, respectively, which are within the acceptable range; this confirms that the monitoring results of the SBAS-PS-DS-InSAR method were better than those of the original SBAS-InSAR method. SBAS-InSAR method, which is valid and reliable. The results show that the surface deformation results obtained using the SBAS-InSAR, SBAS-PS-DS-InSAR, and GPS methods have basically the same settlement locations, extents, distributions, and temporal and spatial settlement patterns. The deformation results obtained using these two InSAR methods correlate well with the GPS monitoring results, and the MAE and RMSE are within acceptable limits. By comparing the deformation information obtained using multiple methods, the surface deformation in urban areas can be better monitored and analysed, and it can also provide scientific references for urban municipal planning and disaster warning.

Abstract
The deleterious effects of mental fatigue (MF) on athletes have been carefully studied in various sports, such as soccer, badminton, and swimming. Even though many researchers have sought ways to ameliorate the negative impact of MF, there is still a lack of studies that review the interventions used to counteract MF among athletes. This review aims to report the current evidence exploring the effects of interventions on MF and sport-specific performance, including sport-specific motor performance and perceptual-cognitive skills. Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and SPORTDicus (EBSCOhost) were combed through to find relevant publications. Additionally, the references and Google Scholar were searched for any grey literature. For the current review, we included only randomized controlled trials that involved athletes, a primary task to induce MF, interventions to counter MF with comparable protocols, and the outcomes of sport-specific motor performance and perceptual-cognitive skill. The selection criteria resulted in the inclusion of 10 articles. The manipulations of autonomous self-control exertion, person-fit, nature exposure, mindfulness, and transactional direct current stimulation showed that positive interventions counteract MF and improve sport-specific performance in different domains, including strength, speed, skill, stamina, and perceptual-cognitive skills. The selected interventions could significantly counteract MF and improve subsequent sport-specific performance. Moreover, self-regulation and attention resources showed the importance of the potential mechanisms behind the relevant interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The preoperative diagnosis of peritoneal metastasis (PM) in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is challenging and can impact clinical decision-making. PURPOSE To investigate the performance of T2 -weighted (T2W) MRI-based deep learning (DL) and radiomics methods for PM evaluation in EOC patients. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. POPULATION Four hundred seventy-nine patients from five centers, including one training set (N = 297 [mean, 54.87 years]), one internal validation set (N = 75 [mean, 56.67 years]), and two external validation sets (N = 53 [mean, 55.58 years] and N = 54 [mean, 58.22 years]). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 1.5 or 3 T/fat-suppression T2W fast or turbo spin-echo sequence. ASSESSMENT ResNet-50 was used as the architecture of DL. The largest orthogonal slices of the tumor area, radiomics features, and clinical characteristics were used to construct the DL, radiomics, and clinical models, respectively. The three models were combined using decision-level fusion to create an ensemble model. Diagnostic performances of radiologists and radiology residents with and without model assistance were evaluated. STATISTICAL TESTS Receiver operating characteristic analysis was used to assess the performances of models. The McNemar test was used to compare sensitivity and specificity. A two-tailed P < 0.05 was considered significant. RESULTS The ensemble model had the best AUCs, outperforming the DL model (0.844 vs. 0.743, internal validation set; 0.859 vs. 0.737, external validation set I) and clinical model (0.872 vs. 0.730, external validation set II). After model assistance, all readers had significantly improved sensitivity, especially for those with less experience (junior radiologist1, from 0.639 to 0.820; junior radiologist2, from 0.689 to 0.803; resident1, from 0.623 to 0.803; resident2, from 0.541 to 0.738). One resident also had significantly improved specificity (from 0.633 to 0.789). DATA CONCLUSIONS T2W MRI-based DL and radiomics approaches have the potential to preoperatively predict PM in EOC patients and assist in clinical decision-making. EVIDENCE LEVEL 4 TECHNICAL EFFICACY: Stage 2.

The total bacteria count has been attracting attention as an important pollutant in indoor air, and its standard limit was tightened to 1500 CFU/m3 in "Standards for indoor air quality (GB/T 18883-2022)".The technical contents related to the determination of the indoor air standard limits for total bacteria count were analyzed and studied, including the environmental existence level, exposure status, the health effects and the derivation of the limit value. It also proposed prospects for the future development and revision of quality standards for total bacteria count in indoor air.

Abstract
Because of the unstable wastewater quantity and quality, the biological treatment efficiency of digested effluent was not as expected. A convenient and effective way was eagerly required to improve the efficiency of biological treatment. By sheet iron addition (R1), the COD and TN removal efficiencies under continuous flow condition increased by 59% and 37% respectively. The bulk pH maintained at around 7.5 which benefited most bacteria, while in the control (R0, without sheet iron addition) the pH decreased to 5.0. Both chemical and bio-removal of COD existed in R1, but the chemical removal dominated (63.71%). The enhanced COD removal efficiency came from the chemical oxidation by Fe3+ (47.43%) and Fe0 (10.86%). For the TN removal, the enhancement mainly came from the improvement of anammox activity by Fe3+ (14.87%), the bio-oxidation of ammonium with Fe3+ as electron acceptor (8.78%), and the bio-reduction of nitrate/nitrite with Fe2+ and H2 as electron donor (35.76%). By the first-order kinetic fitting analysis, the COD and TN removal rate in R1 was higher than that in R0. Thus, for a quick and high COD and TN removal from digested effluent, the addition of Fe0/Fe2+/Fe3+ was suggested, and the best form should be Fe0 (e.g., sheet iron). The addition of sheet iron reduces the cost of nitrogen removal and improves the efficiency of COD and TN removal. Comparing with the combined processes, this novel approach has potential advantages with simple operation and high efficiency. It endows the biological process much broader application in digested effluent treatment.

Abstract
AIMS Primary choledocholithiasis is a common digestive disease with high morbidity and relapse. However, the compositions and functions of the bile microbial ecosystem and the pathogenesis of microfloral regulation of host metabolism resulting in stone formation are poorly understood. MAIN METHODS Biliary samples collected from patients with acute cholangitis induced by benign biliary stricture (nonlithiasis group, n = 17) and primary choledocholithiasis (lithiasis group, n = 33) were subjected to multiomics analyses. Furthermore, clinicopathological features collected over a 24-month follow-up period were examined to evaluate the predictive value of candidate microbes. KEY FINDINGS Five alpha diversity indices of the bile microbiome were significantly decreased in the lithiasis group. Furthermore, we identified 49 differential bile flora between the two groups, and the relative abundances of 6 bacteria, Actinobacteria, Actinobacteriota, Staphylococcales, Micrococcales, Altererythrobacter and Carnobacteriaceae, were associated with primary choledocholithiasis relapse conditions. Multiomics analyses showed that specific changes in disease-related bacterial taxa were closely related to metabolite variation (low-molecular weight carboxylic acids, sterol liquid and acylcarnitine), which might reflect disease prognosis. According to microbiomic and metabolomic pathway analyses, we revealed that bacterial infections, microbiota-derived amino acid metabolites and secondary bile acid-related pathways were significantly enriched in the stone-formation group, suggesting a novel host-microbial metabolic mechanism of primary choledocholithiasis. SIGNIFICANCE Our study first indicates bile host-microbial dysbiosis modulates the abnormal accumulation of metabolites might further disrupt calcium homeostasis and generate insoluble saponification. Additionally, we determined the predictive value of Actinomycetes phylum reduction for recurrence in primary common bile duct stone patients.

Abstract
Remote sensing image denoising is of great significance for the subsequent use and research of images. Gaussian noise and salt-and-pepper noise are prevalent noises in images. Contemporary denoising algorithms often exhibit limitations when addressing such mixed noise scenarios, manifesting in suboptimal denoising outcomes and the potential blurring of image edges subsequent to the denoising process. To address the above problems, a second-order removal method for mixed noise in remote sensing images was proposed. In the first stage of the method, dilated convolution was introduced into the DnCNN (denoising convolutional neural network) network framework to increase the receptive field of the network, so that more feature information could be extracted from remote sensing images. Meanwhile, a DropoutLayer was introduced after the deep convolution layer to build the noise reduction model to prevent the network from overfitting and to simplify the training difficulty, and then the model was used to perform the preliminary noise reduction on the images. To further improve the image quality of the preliminary denoising results, effectively remove the salt-and-pepper noise in the mixed noise, and preserve more image edge details and texture features, the proposed method employed a second stage on the basis of adaptive median filtering. In this second stage, the median value in the original filter window median was replaced by the nearest neighbor pixel weighted median, so that the preliminary noise reduction result was subjected to secondary processing, and the final denoising result of the mixed noise of the remote sensing image was obtained. In order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm, the remote sensing image denoising experiments and denoised image edge detection experiments were carried out in this paper. When the experimental results are analyzed through subjective visual assessment, images denoised using the proposed method exhibit clearer and more natural details, and they effectively retain edge and texture features. In terms of objective evaluation, the performance of different denoising algorithms is compared using metrics such as mean square error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), and mean structural similarity index (MSSIM). The experimental outcomes indicate that the proposed method for denoising mixed noise in remote sensing images outperforms traditional denoising techniques, achieving a clearer image restoration effect.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a unique class of multifunctional hybrid crystals that have been successfully utilized in diverse ranges of applications. However, since MOFs are prone to aqueous degradation, the development of stable luminescent MOF platforms in aqueous media is still a huge challenge. Here, a novel dual-ligand Eu3+/DUT-52-COOH composite is prepared based on the luminescent DUT-52 prototype structure via a dual-ligand strategy and a post-synthetic modification (PSM) method. The functionalized Eu3+/DUT-52-COOH material exhibits dual emission and good photothermal stability in aqueous media. Thus, Eu3+/DUT-52-COOH is developed as a ratiometric luminescent sensor to achieve highly selective and sensitive detection of Cu2+ and Cr2O72- in aqueous solutions and has a low detection limit of 3.43 μM and 25.7 nM, respectively. This work is one of the few cases of detecting Cu2+ and Cr2O72- in aqueous media based on a DUT-52, and the detection signals can be observed by the bare eye without using sophisticated analytical instruments. The possible sensing mechanism is discussed in detail. The results obtained in this project may provide broad prospects for developing smart sensing systems to accomplish highly efficient, easily operable and quantitative intelligent recognition of Cu2+ and Cr2O72-.

Abstract
In this paper, 177 cases of artificial stone-related silicosis in interior decoration workers from Israel, Spain, USA, Italy and Australia were analyzed. Interior decoration workers were from small businesses (or workshops), engaged in kitchen and/or bathroom artificial stone countertops cutting, grinding, polishing and other reprocessing. In the working environment, the content of crystalline silica in artificial stone was more than 70%, and the concentration of silica dust exceeded the relevant standards. Most workplaces used dry cutting without ventilation and dust removal and other dust-proof measures, and most workers did not wear qualified respiratory protective equipment. Taking comprehensive measures such as wet operation, ventilation and dust removal, and individual protection can effectively prevent the occurrence of artificial stone-related silicosis.

Abstract
To reveal the effects of nitrogen (N) inputs and mowing on the abundance and richness of insect community in meadow steppe, we investigated the abundance and diversity of herbivorous insects under four treatments in Inner Mongolia meadow steppe in August 2022, including control, N addition, mowing, and combined N addition and mowing. At a long-term control experimental platform, we collected insects using the vacuum sampling method. The results showed that N addition significantly increased the abundance of herbivorous insects, and mowing significantly decreased the abundance of herbivorous insects. Nitrogen addition significantly increased insect abundance in unmown condition but not in the mown condition. The responses of insect abundance at the community level to N addition were mainly driven by the dominant groups, Cicadellidae and Lygaeidae, which was affected by the abundance of Gramineae species. In contrast, their responses to mowing were the opposite. Both N addition and mowing did not affect the diversity of herbivorous insects. Our results indicated that the responses of herbivorous insect abundance to N inputs and mowing were directly regulated by food resources. With increasing food resource availability, the abundance but not the diversity of herbivorous insects increased, with stronger responses of dominant groups than subordinate ones.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Numerous studies have indicated that chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency is a potential factor in causing multiple sclerosis in recent years, but this conclusion remains unconfirmed. This meta-analysis examined the correlation between multiple sclerosis and chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency. METHODS We searched Embase and Medline (Ovid) for publications published from 1 January 2006 to 1 May 2022. The meta-analysis was performed following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. RESULTS Eligible studies (n=20) included 3069 participants from seven countries. Pooled analysis indicated that chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency was more frequent in patients with multiple sclerosis than in healthy controls (OR 3.36; 95% CI 1.92 to 5.85; p<0.001) with remarkable heterogeneity among studies (I2=79%). Results were more strongly correlated in subsequent sensitivity analyses, but heterogeneity was also more substantial. We removed studies that initially proposed a chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency team as well as studies by authors involved in or advocating endovascular therapies. CONCLUSIONS Chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency is significantly associated with multiple sclerosis and it is more prevalent in patients with multiple sclerosis than in healthy individuals, but considerable heterogeneity of results is still observed.

Abstract
The therapeutic administration of recombinant proteins is utilized in a multitude of research studies for treating various diseases. In this study, we investigate the therapeutic potential of Orosomucoid 2 (Orm2), an acute phase protein predominantly secreted by hepatocytes, for treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Our results show that high Orm2 expression prevents high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced obesity in mice. Pharmacological administration of recombinant ORM2 protein ameliorates hepatic steatosis, inflammation, hepatocyte injury, and fibrosis in mouse livers afflicted by NAFLD and NASH under dietary stress. Orm2 knockout mice develop spontaneous obesity under a regular diet and exacerbate HFD-induced steatosis, steatohepatitis, and fibrosis. Mechanistically, Orm2 deletion activates the Erk1/2-PPARγ-Cd36 signaling pathway, increasing fatty acid uptake and absorption in hepatocytes and mice. Overall, our findings underscore the critical role of Orm2 in preventing NASH and associated NAFLD in the context of obesity.

Abstract
Objective: To identify the main metals involved in cognitive impairment in the Chinese oldest old, and explore the association between these metal exposures and cognitive impairment. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1 568 participants aged 80 years and older from Healthy Aging and Biomarkers Cohort Study (2017 to 2018). Fasting venous blood was collected to measure the levels of nine metals (selenium, lead, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, chromium, manganese, mercury, and nickel). The cognitive function of these participants was evaluated by using the Chinese version of the Mini-Mental State Examination (CMMSE). The random forest (RF) was applied to independently identify the main metals that affected cognitive impairment. The multivariate logistic regression model and restricted cubic splines (RCS) model were used to further verify the association of the main metals with cognitive impairment. Results: The age of 1 568 study subjects was (91.8±7.6) years old, including 912 females (58.2%) and 465 individuals (29.7%) with cognitive function impairment. Based on the RF model (the out-of-bag error rate was 22.9%), the importance ranking of variables was conducted and the feature screening of five times ten-fold cross-validation was carried out. It was found that selenium was the metal that affected cognitive function impairment, and the other eight metals were not included in the model. After adjusting for covariates, the multivariate logistic regression model showed that with every increase of 10 μg/L of blood selenium levels, the risk of cognitive impairment decreased (OR=0.921, 95%CI: 0.889-0.954). Compared with the lowest quartile(Q1) of blood selenium, the ORs (95%CI) of Q3 and Q4 blood selenium were 0.452 (0.304-0.669) and 0.419 (0.281-0.622) respectively. The RCS showed a linear dose-response relationship between blood selenium and cognitive impairment (Pnonlinear>0.05). Conclusion: Blood selenium is negatively associated with cognitive impairment in the Chinese oldest old.

Abstract
The vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) has been regarded as one of the best potential stationary electrochemical storage systems for its design flexibility, long cycle life, high efficiency, and high safety; it is usually utilized to resolve the fluctuations and intermittent nature of renewable energy sources. As one of the critical components of VRFBs to provide the reaction sites for redox couples, an ideal electrode should possess excellent chemical and electrochemical stability, conductivity, and a low price, as well as good reaction kinetics, hydrophilicity, and electrochemical activity, in order to satisfy the requirements for high-performance VRFBs. However, the most commonly used electrode material, a carbonous felt electrode, such as graphite felt (GF) or carbon felt (CF), suffers from relatively inferior kinetic reversibility and poor catalytic activity toward the V2+/V3+ and VO2+/VO2+ redox couples, limiting the operation of VRFBs at low current density. Therefore, modified carbon substrates have been extensively investigated to improve vanadium redox reactions. Here, we give a brief review of recent progress in the modification methods of carbonous felt electrodes, such as surface treatment, the deposition of low-cost metal oxides, the doping of nonmetal elements, and complexation with nanostructured carbon materials. Thus, we give new insights into the relationships between the structure and the electrochemical performance, and provide some perspectives for the future development of VRFBs. Through a comprehensive analysis, it is found that the increase in the surface area and active sites are two decisive factors that enhance the performance of carbonous felt electrodes. Based on the varied structural and electrochemical characterizations, the relationship between the surface nature and electrochemical activity, as well as the mechanism of the modified carbon felt electrodes, is also discussed.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association of the levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) with frailty and its components among the elderly over 65 years old in 9 longevity areas of China. Methods: Cross-sectional data from the Health Ageing and Biomarkers Cohort Study (HABCS, 2017-2018) were used and the elderly over 65 years old were included in this study. Through questionnaire interview and physical examination, the information including demographic characteristics, behavior, diet, daily activity, cognitive function, and health status was collected. The association between hs-CRP and frailty and its components in the participants was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression model and restrictive cubic spline. Results: A total of 2 453 participants were finally included, the age was (84.8±19.8) years old. The median hs-CRP level was 1.13 mg/L and the prevalence of frailty was 24.4%. Compared with the low-level group (hs-CRP<1.0 mg/L), the OR (95%CI) value of the high-level group (hs-CRP>3.0 mg/L) was 1.79 (1.35-2.36) mg/L. As for the components, the hs-CRP level was also positively associated with ADL disability, IADL disability, functional limitation and multimorbidity. After adjusting for confounding factors, compared with the low-level group, the OR (95%CI) values of the high-level group for the four components were 1.68 (1.25-2.27), 1.88 (1.42-2.50), 1.68 (1.31-2.14) and 1.39 (1.12-1.72), respectively. Conclusion: There is a positive association between the levels of hs-CRP and the risk of frailty among the elderly over 65 years old in 9 longevity areas of China. The higher hs-CRP level may increase the risk of frailty by elevating the risk of four physical functional disabilities, namely ADL disability, IADL disability, functional limitation and multimorbidity.

Abstract
Airport gates are the main places for aircraft to receive ground services. With the increased number of flights, limited gate resources near to the terminal make the gate assignment work more complex. Traditional solution methods based on mathematical programming models and iterative algorithms are usually used to solve these static situations, lacking learning and real-time decision-making abilities. In this paper, a two-stage hybrid algorithm based on imitation learning and genetic algorithm (IL-GA) is proposed to solve the gate assignment problem. First of all, the problem is defined from a mathematical model to a Markov decision process (MDP), with the goal of maximizing the number of flights assigned to contact gates and the total gate preferences. In the first stage of the algorithm, a deep policy network is created to obtain the gate selection probability of each flight. This policy network is trained by imitating and learning the assignment trajectory data of human experts, and this process is offline. In the second stage of the algorithm, the policy network is used to generate a good initial population for the genetic algorithm to calculate the optimal solution for an online instance. The experimental results show that the genetic algorithm combined with imitation learning can greatly shorten the iterations and improve the population convergence speed. The flight rate allocated to the contact gates is 14.9% higher than the manual allocation result and 4% higher than the traditional genetic algorithm. Learning the expert assignment data also makes the allocation scheme more consistent with the preference of the airport, which is helpful for the practical application of the algorithm.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the awareness of malaria-related knowledge, the use of mosquito nets and their influencing factors among residents in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province. METHODS In August 2020, 19 settlement sites in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province were selected as study areas, and permanent residents at ages of 10 years and older were enrolled for a questionnaire survey, including residents' demographics, family economic status, malaria control knowledge and use of mosquito nets. In addition, the factors affecting the use of mosquito nets in the night prior to the survey were identified using multivariate logistic regression analysis. RESULTS A total of 320 questionnaires were allocated, and all were recovered (a 100% recovery rate). There were 316 valid questionnaires, with an effective recovery rate of 98.75%. The 316 respondents included 152 men and 164 women and 250 Chinese respondents and 66 foreign respondents. The awareness of clinical syndromes of malaria was significantly higher among Chinese residents (71.60%) than among foreign residents (50.00%) (χ2 = 11.03, P < 0.01), and the proportions of Chinese and foreign residents sleeping under mosquito nets were 46.00% and 69.70% on the night prior to the survey, respectively (χ2 = 11.73, P < 0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified ethnicity group and type of residence as factors affecting the use of mosquito nets in the night prior to the survey. CONCLUSIONS The awareness of malaria control knowledge, the coverage and the use of mosquito nets were low among residents in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province. Targeted health education is recommended to improve the awareness of malaria control knowledge and self-protection ability. In addition, improving the allocation of long-lasting mosquito nets and health education pertaining to their uses and increasing the proportion of using mosquito nets correctly is needed to prevent re-establishment of imported malaria.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To develop and validate a nomogram to detect improved knee pain in osteoarthritis (OA) by integrating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics signature of subchondral bone and clinical characteristics. METHODS Participants were selected from the Vitamin D Effects on Osteoarthritis (VIDEO) study. The primary outcome was 20% improvement of knee pain score over 2 years in participants administrated either vitamin D or placebo. Radiomics features of subchondral bone and clinical characteristics from 216 participants were extracted and analyzed. The participants were randomly split into the training and validation cohorts at a ratio of 8:2. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to select features and generate radiomics signatures. The optimal radiomics signature and clinical indicators were fitted into a nomogram using multivariable logistic regression model. RESULTS The nomogram showed favorable discrimination performance [AUCtraining, 0.79 (95% CI: 0.72-0.79), AUCvalidation, 0.83 (95% CI: 0.70-0.96)] as well as a good calibration. Additional contributing value of fusion radiomics signature to the nomogram was statistically significant (NRI, 0.23; IDI, 0.14, P < 0.001 in training cohort and NRI, 0.29; IDI, 0.18, P < 0.05 in validating cohort). Decision curve analysis confirmed the clinical usefulness of nomogram. CONCLUSION The radiomics-based nomogram comprising the MR radiomics signature and clinical variables achieves a favorable predictive efficacy and accuracy in differentiating improvement in knee pain among OA patients. This proof-of-concept study provides a promising way to predict clinically meaningful outcomes.

Abstract
Growing evidence suggests that phase-locked deep brain stimulation (DBS) can effectively regulate abnormal brain connectivity in neurological and psychiatric disorders. This letter therefore presents a low-power SoC with both neural connectivity extraction and phase-locked DBS capabilities. A 16-channel low-noise analog front-end (AFE) records local field potentials (LFPs) from multiple brain regions with precise gain matching. A novel low-complexity phase estimator and neural connectivity processor subsequently enable energy-efficient, yet accurate measurement of the instantaneous phase and cross-regional synchrony measures. Through flexible combination of neural biomarkers such as phase synchrony and spectral energy, a four-channel charge-balanced neurostimulator is triggered to treat various pathological brain conditions. Fabricated in 65-nm CMOS, the SoC occupies a silicon area of 2.24 mm2 and consumes 60 μW, achieving over 60% power saving in neural connectivity extraction compared to the state-of-the-art. Extensive in-vivo measurements demonstrate multi-channel LFP recording, real-time extraction of phase and neural connectivity measures, and phase-locked stimulation in rats.

Abstract
Background and objectives Hepatectomy is the preferred treatment for patients with liver tumors. Post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) remains one of the most fatal postoperative complications. We aim to explore the risk factors of PHLF and create a nomogram for early prediction of PHLF. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients undergoing hepatectomy at the Affiliated Huaian No. 1 People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between 2015 and 2022, and the patients were divided into training and internal validation cohorts at an 8:2 ratio randomly. The patients undergoing liver resection from the Affiliated Huaian Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University worked as external validation. Then, a nomogram was developed which was based on multivariate analyses to calculate the risk of PHLF. The area under the ROC curve (AUROC) and Hosmer -Lemeshow test was used to evaluate the prediction effect of the model. Results A total of 421 eligible patients were included in our study. Four preoperative variables were identified after multivariate analysis as follows, ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists) score, Child-Pugh score, SMI (Skeletal muscle index), and MELD (Model for end-stage liver disease) score as independent predictors of PHLF. The area under the ROC curve of the predictive model in the training, internal, and external validation cohorts were 0.89, 0.82, and 0.89. Hosmer -Lemeshow P values in the training, internal, and external validation cohorts were 0.91, 0.22, and 0.15. The Calibration curve confirmed that our nomogram prediction results were in accurate agreement with the actual occurrence of PHLF. Conclusion We construct a nomogram to predict the grade B/C PHLF of ISGLS (International Study Group of Liver Surgery) in patients who underwent hepatic resection based on risk factors. This tool can provide a visual and accurate preoperative prediction of the grade B/C PHLF and guide the next step of clinical decision-making.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common glucose metabolism disease occurs in pregnancy that affects both maternal and neonatal health. Recently, increasing studies have attached importance to the relationship between growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) and GDM, but the results were inconclusive. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to examine the association between GDF-15 and GDM. MATERIALS AND METHODS A systematical search was performed in Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), PubMed and Google Scholar till Oct 27, 2022. We first calculated the mean and standard deviation of GDF-15 expression levels from the included eligible datasets and articles. Then, a meta-analysis was conducted to depict the difference in GDF-15 mRNA or GDF-15 protein expression between case and control groups by using conservative random effect model. Moreover, the potential publication bias was checked with the aid of Begg's test and Egger's test. Finally, sensitivity analyses were performed by changing the inclusion criteria. RESULTS In summary, 12 GEO datasets and 5 articles were enrolled in our study, including 789 GDM patients and 1202 non-GDM pregnant women. It was found that the expression levels of GDF-15 mRNA and GDF-15 protein in late pregnancy were significantly higher in GDM patients compared with non-GDM pregnant women, with the standard mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) of 0.48 (0.14, 0.83) and 0.82 (0.32-1.33), respectively. Meanwhile, a slightly weakened association between GDF-15 protein levels and GDM was also observed in the middle pregnancy, with SMD (95% CI) of 0.53 (0.04-1.02). CONCLUSION In all, our results suggested that the expression levels of GDF-15 were significantly higher in GDM patients compared with non-GDM pregnant women, especially in the late pregnancy.

Abstract
Being isolated from the peripheral system by the blood-brain barrier, the brain has long been considered a completely impervious tissue. However, recent findings show that the gut microbiome (GM) influences gastrointestinal and brain disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Despite several hypotheses, such as neuroinflammation, tau hyperphosphorylation, amyloid plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, and oxidative stress, being proposed to explain the origin and progression of AD, the pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. Epigenetic, molecular, and pathological studies suggest that GM influences AD development and have endeavored to find predictive, sensitive, non-invasive, and accurate biomarkers for early disease diagnosis and monitoring of progression. Given the growing interest in the involvement of GM in AD, current research endeavors to identify prospective gut biomarkers for both preclinical and clinical diagnoses, as well as targeted therapy techniques. Here, we discuss the most recent findings on gut changes in AD, microbiome-based biomarkers, prospective clinical diagnostic uses, and targeted therapy approaches. Furthermore, we addressed herbal components, which could provide a new venue for AD diagnostic and therapy research.

Abstract
To study the reaction paths and reaction mechanisms of the active structures in coal during the oxidation process, the oxygen-free pyrolysis and oxygen-containing combustion were simulated for nine active structures in coal based on the ReaxFF MD method. A separate simulation analysis of the active structure yielded that O2 inhibited the reaction of H1. As the branched chain grows, the reaction paths of C2 and Q2 follow the direction of the reaction of carboxyl and aldehyde groups to CO2 and CO. Considering the reaction rates and reaction process products of A1, B1, and B3 structures, it is obtained that O2 has the greatest contribution to the decomposition reaction of aliphatic hydrocarbon structures. This is due to the strong electron-absorbing property of O2 that attracts H radicals to generate HO2, which in turn affects the reaction path of the active structure. Tracing the reaction process reveals that OH and oxygen-containing radicals under oxygen-free conditions greatly influence the active structural reaction.

Abstract
Single-matrix white light-emitting diodes are still a challenge. Achieving tunable white light emission from lead-free perovskites attracts much attention. Herein, nanoscale Rb2SnCl6 (RSC) vacancy ordered double perovskite were synthesized by an optimized precipitation method. Further, using ns2 ions (Bi3+, Te4+, and Sb3+) doped RSC vacancy ordered double perovskite to obtain broadband blue, yellow-green, and orange-red emission. The color temperature adjustable high-quality white light emission based on the codoping strategy is obtained by controlling the doping ratio of Bi3+ and Te4+. Additionally, the white light-emitting diodes encapsulated by this single matrix white luminescent material exhibit excellent stability. Combined with theoretical calculations, it is elucidated that these high-efficiency emissions are not only derived from the unique electronic transition of ns2 ions but also related to the energy band properties and the crystal field. This work shows that ns2 ions doped RSC vacancy ordered double perovskite can meet the needs of different luminous colors and color temperature tunable white light emission. Meanwhile, it is a strong competitor to replace the lead-based perovskite.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the clinical impact of direct two-step distraction reduction (TSDR) for basilar invagination (BI) with atlantoaxial dislocation (AAD). Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of patients who underwent TSDR and occipitocervical fusion in West China Hospital between October 2013 and March 2021. Depending on whether the preoperative decrease was greater than 50% on preoperative hyperextension X-rays, the patients were split into two groups. The neurological function [Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score], atlantodens interval (ADI), the distance of odontoid process beyond McRae Line (ML) and Wackenheim Line (WL), cervicomedullary angle (CMA), O-C2 angle (OC2A), and complications incidence were compared between two groups preoperatively and postoperatively. Results: There were 12 men and 23 women among the 35 patients with BI and AAD, and the age ranged from 28 to 71 years, with an mean age of (52.0±13.4) years. In the preoperative reduction ≥50% group, there were 4 males and 9 females with an average age of (54.0±13.8) years; in the preoperative reduction <50% group, there were 8 males and 14 females with a mean age of (50.9±13.4) years. All the patients were followed-up for a mean time of (23.3±13.4) months. There was no significant difference in age, gender, bleeding, length of hospital stay and follow-up time between the two groups (all P>0.05). The JOA score, ADI, WL, ML and CMA of 35 patients were significantly improved when compared with those before operation (all P<0.05). The reduction degree of ADI, ML and WL was more than 80% in 31 cases (88.57%), 30 cases (85.71%) and 31 cases (88.57%), respectively. There was no significant difference in postoperative ADI, ML and WL between the two groups (all P>0.05). All patients had no incision infection, no loosening or breakage of the internal fixators. Dysphagia occurred in 3 patients, non-fusion happened in 1 patient, but no instability in X-ray of cervical dynamic position was found, no loosening or displacement occurred in internal fixators, and partial spontaneous fusion occurred between atlantoaxial lateral mass joints. Conclusions: For BI with AAD without atlantoaxial bony connection or serious atlantoaxial facet joint inclination, TSDR could obtain satisfactory reduction degree. The reduction degree on preoperative hyperextension X-ray doesn't affect the degree of intraoperative reduction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To provide some causal evidence concerning the effects of metformin on osteoarthritis (OA) using two metformin targets, namely AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) as metformin proxies. METHODS This is a 2-sample Mendelian randomization design. We constructed 44 AMPK-related variants genetically predicted in HbA1c (%) as instruments for AMPK and five variants strongly predicted GDF-15 as instruments for GDF-15. Summary-level data for three OA phenotypes, including OA at any site, knee OA, and hip OA were obtained from the largest genome-wide meta-analysis across the UK Biobank and arcOGEN with 455,211 Europeans. Main analyses were conducted using the inverse-variance weighted method. Weighted median and MR-Egger were conducted as sensitivity analyses to assess the robustness of our results. RESULTS Genetically predicted AMPK were negatively associated with OA at any site (OR: 0.60; 95% CI: 0.43-0.83) and hip OA (OR: 0.42; 95% CI: 0.22-0.80), but with not knee OA (OR: 0.85; 95% CI: 0.49-1.50). Higher levels of genetically predicted GDF-15 reduced the risk of hip OA (OR: 0.95; 95% CI: 0.90-0.99), but not OA at any site (OR: 1.00; 95% CI: 0.98-1.02) and knee OA (OR: 1.02; 95% CI: 0.98-1.07). CONCLUSION This study indicates that AMPK and GDF-15 can be potential therapeutic targets for OA, especially for hip OA, and metformin would be repurposed for OA therapy which needs to be verified in randomized controlled trials.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the real-world effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) by replicating a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design in an observational study. METHOD This study emulated a target trial using data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI). Eligible participants were ≥45 years, had symptomatic KOA and did not take vitamin D supplements in the past 30 days. A participant can enter the trial more than once. Participants were included in vitamin D group if they took ≥1,000 IU/day for ≥4 days/week in the past 30 days at the first follow-up visit after baseline. The control group did not use vitamin D in the past 30 days. Optimal propensity score matching at 1:1 ratio was performed. The primary outcome was change in knee pain 2 years after baseline measured by the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). Secondary outcomes included WOMAC physical function and quantitative joint space width (JSW). Standardized mean difference (SMD) was used to compare the findings with previous RCTs. RESULTS A total of 236 person-trials in the vitamin D group were pair-matched with a control. Compared to the control group, vitamin D supplementation did not reach significant changes in WOMAC pain (SMD = -0.04, 95%CI [-0.21, 0.13]), physical function and radiographic JSW over 2 years. The SMDs were consistent with the effect sizes reported in previous RCTs. CONCLUSION Target trial emulation in the OAI cohort demonstrated findings close to published RCTs. This supports the future use of target trial emulation in evaluating other systemic therapies for KOA.

Abstract
The development of detection technology prompts the need to elaborate on the theory behind the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. This study integrates the detection of monounsaturated fatty acid oxidation at 60 °C with computational simulations to provide an advanced theoretical basis for the formation of hydroperoxides and allyl. The results indicate that oxidation reaction led to increases of 3.4 mg/g for 8-hydroperoxy-trans-9-octadecenoate (trans8) and 2.7 mg/g for 9-hydroperoxy-trans-10-octadecenoate (trans9) and 10-hydroperoxy-trans-8-octadecenoate (trans10) despite low temperatures. The energy of peroxyl radical production was 0.36 kcal/mol and that of allylic isomerization was 78.52 kcal/mol, indicating the existence of two pathways for hydroperoxides formation: β-fragmentation and the allylic isomerization. Structural equation modeling (SEM) verified the multistep competitive side reactions that occurred during oxidation. This finding provides a new basis for future analysis of lipid oxidation.

Abstract
Background Accurate preoperative diagnosis of post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) is particularly important to improve the prognosis of patients. Purpose To evaluate the predictive value of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for post-hepatectomy liver failure. Material and Methods A systematic search was performed in the PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases to find relevant original articles published up to December 2021. The included studies were assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 tool. The bivariate random-effects model was used to assess the diagnostic authenticity. Meta-regression analyses were performed to analyze the potential heterogeneity. Results In total, 13 articles were included. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, diagnostic odds ratio, and the area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curves were 88% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.80–0.94), 80% (95% CI = 0.73–0.86), 4.4 (95% CI = 3.3–5.9), 0.14 (95% CI = 0.08–0.25), 31 (95% CI = 17–57), and 0.91 (95% CI = 0.89–0.94), respectively. There was no publication bias and threshold effect in our study. Conclusion Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI is a potentially useful for the prediction of PHLF after major hepatectomy.

Abstract
Microwave transmission lines in wearable systems are easily damaged after frequent mechanical deformation, posing a severe threat to wireless communication. Here, we report a new strategy to achieve stretchable microwave transmission lines with superior reliability and durability by integrating a self-healable elastomer with serpentine-geometry plasmonic meta-waveguide to support the spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP). After mechanical damage, the self-healable elastomer can autonomously repair itself to maintain the electromagnetic performance and mechanical strength. Meanwhile, the specially designed SSPP structure exhibits excellent stability and damage resistance. Even if the self-healing process has not been completed or the eventual repair effect is not ideal, the spoof plasmonic meta-waveguide can still maintain reliable performance. Self-healing material enhances strength and durability, while the SSPP improves stability and gives more tolerance to the self-healing process. Our design coordinates the structural design with material synthesis to maximize the advantages of the SSPP and self-healing material, significantly improving the reliability and durability of stretchable microwave transmission lines. We also perform communication quality experiments to demonstrate the potential of the proposed meta-waveguide as interconnects in future body area network systems.

Abstract
Disc displacement without reduction is a common disorder of the temporomandibular joint, causing clinical symptoms and sometimes condylar degeneration. In some cases, bone regeneration is detected following disc-repositioning procedures. Until now, however, systems-wide knowledge of the protein levels for condylar outcome with disc position is still lacking. Here, we performed comprehensive expression profiling of synovial fluid from 109 patients with disc displacement without reduction using high-resolution data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry and characterized differences in 1,714 proteins. Based on magnetic resonance imaging, samples were divided into groups with versus without condylar absorption and subgroups with versus without new bone. For the proteomic analysis, 32 proteins in groups presented with statistical significance (>2-fold, P < 0.05). Pathways such as response to inorganic substances, blood coagulation, and estrogen signaling were significantly expressed in the group with bone absorption as compared with pathways such as regulation of body fluid levels, vesicle-mediated transport, and focal adhesion, which were enriched in the group without bone absorption. In subgroup analysis, 45 proteins of significant importance (>2-fold, P < 0.05) were associated with pathways including would healing, glycolysis and gluconeogenesis, and amino acid metabolism. Combined with clinical examination, molecules such as acetyl-CoA carboxylase beta (ACACB) and transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFB1) were related to features such as visual analog scale and maximum interincisal opening (P < 0.05). In addition, 7 proteins were examined by Western blotting, including progesterone immunomodulatory binding factor 1 (PIBF1), histidine-rich glycoprotein (HRG), and protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons 2 (PACSIN2). In conclusion, this study provides the first proteome analysis of condylar absorption at disc displacement without reduction and postoperative new bone formation after disc reposition. Integrated with clinical data, this analysis provides an important insight into the proteomics of condylar modification at disc position.

Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 has infected more than 600 million people worldwide and caused more than 6 million deaths. The emerging novel variants have made the epidemic rebound in many places. Meteorological factors can affect the epidemic spread by changing virus activity, transmission dynamic parameters and host susceptibility. This paper systematically analyzed the currently available laboratory and epidemiological studies on the association between the meteorological factors and COVID-19 incidence, in order to provide scientific evidence for future epidemic control and prevention, as well as developing early warning system.

Abstract
Closed-loop neural interfaces with on-chip machine learning can detect and suppress disease symptoms in neurological disorders or restore lost functions in paralyzed patients. While high-density neural recording can provide rich neural activity information for accurate disease-state detection, existing systems have low channel counts and poor scalability, which could limit their therapeutic efficacy. This work presents a highly scalable and versatile closed-loop neural interface SoC that can overcome these limitations. A 256-channel time-division multiplexed (TDM) front-end with a two-step fast-settling mixed-signal DC servo loop (DSL) is proposed to record high-spatial-resolution neural activity and perform channel-selective brain-state inference. A tree-structured neural network (NeuralTree) classification processor extracts a rich set of neural biomarkers in a patient- and disease-specific manner. Trained with an energy-aware learning algorithm, the NeuralTree classifier detects the symptoms of underlying disorders (e.g., epilepsy and movement disorders) at an optimal energy-accuracy trade-off. A 16-channel high-voltage (HV) compliant neurostimulator closes the therapeutic loop by delivering charge-balanced biphasic current pulses to the brain. The proposed SoC was fabricated in 65nm CMOS and achieved a 0.227μJ/class energy efficiency in a compact area of 0.014mm2/channel. The SoC was extensively verified on human electroencephalography (EEG) and intracranial EEG (iEEG) epilepsy datasets, obtaining 95.6%/94% sensitivity and 96.8%/96.9% specificity, respectively. In-vivo neural recordings using soft μECoG arrays and multi-domain biomarker extraction were further performed on a rat model of epilepsy. In addition, for the first time in literature, on-chip classification of rest-state tremor in Parkinson's disease (PD) from human local field potentials (LFPs) was demonstrated.
