Abstract
Purpose Uveitis is a heterogenous group of inflammatory eye disease for which current cytokine-targeted immune therapies are effective for only a subset of patients. We hypothesized that despite pathophysiologic nuances that differentiate individual disease states, all forms of eye inflammation might share common mechanisms for immune cell recruitment. Identifying these mechanisms is critical for developing novel, broadly acting therapeutic strategies. Design Experimental study. Subjects Biospecimens from patients with active or inactive uveitis and healthy controls. Methods Protein concentration and single cell gene expression were assessed in aqueous fluid biopsies and plasma samples from deidentified patients with uveitis or healthy controls. Main Outcome Measures The concentration of 31 inflammatory proteins was measured in all aqueous samples, as well as plasma samples from patients with active uveitis. Chemokine and cytokine ligand and receptor expression were assessed in individual cell types from aqueous biopsies obtained from patients with active uveitis. Results We identified 6 chemokines that were both elevated in active uveitis compared with controls and enriched in aqueous compared with plasma during active uveitis (C-C motif chemokine ligand [CCL]2, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand [CXCL]10, CXCL9, CXCL8, CCL3, and CCL14), forming potential gradients for migration of immune cells from the blood to the eye. Of these, CCL2 and CXCL10 were consistently enriched in the aqueous of all patients in our cohort, as well as in a larger cohort of patients from a previously published study. These data suggest that CCL2 and CXCL10 are key mediators in immune cell migration to the eye during uveitis. Next, single cell RNA sequencing suggested that macrophages contribute to aqueous enrichment of CCL2 and CXCL10 during human uveitis. Finally, using chemokine ligand and receptor expression mapping, we identified a broad signaling network for macrophage-derived CCL2 and CXCL10 in human uveitis. Conclusions These data suggest that ocular macrophages may play a central role, via CCL2 and CXCL10 production, in recruiting inflammatory cells to the eye in patients with uveitis. Abstract
On September 26th 2019, a major fire occurred in the Lubrizol factory located near the Seine estuary, in Rouen-France. Juvenile flounders were captured in the Canche estuary (a reference system) and caged one month in the Canche and in the Seine downstream the accident site. No significant increases of PAHs, PCBs and PFAS was detected in Seine vs Canche sediments after the accident, but a significant increase of dioxins and furans was observed in water and sewage sludge in the Rouen wastewater treatment plant. The proteomics approach highlighted a dysregulation of proteins associated with cholesterol synthesis and lipid metabolism, in fish caged in the Seine. The overall results suggested that the fire produced air borne dioxins and furans that got deposited on soil and subsequently entered in the Seine estuarine waters via runoff; thus contaminating fish preys and caged flounders in the Seine estuary.

Abstract
Although pediatric growth curves provide clinical utility, using these metrics for within-person change over time can be misleading. As research is focused on understanding cardiometabolic consequences of weight gain, it is important to use precise metrics to analyze these longitudinal research questions. Despite several foundational recommendations to limit the use of reference pediatric growth curves (e.g., BMI z scores) for within-person longitudinal research, it has evolved into the "gold standard" for using growth curves for pediatric weight gain analyses. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to discuss (A) the methodology used to create reference growth curves; (B) the appropriate use of reference pediatric BMI growth curves within the context of cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses in research; and (C) how to select metrics based on desired evaluations. Careful consideration using standardized references scores is essential when assessing obesity-related questions and comorbid risk over time in pediatric populations.

Abstract
Both food insecurity and home and wild food procurement (HWFP), including gardening, increased in many countries during the COVID-19 pandemic; yet little evidence has demonstrated what impact HWFP had on food security. Using data from a representative sample of nearly 1000 residents in the two most rural US states (Vermont and Maine) conducted via an online survey in Spring/Summer 2021, as well as matching techniques, we compare food security outcomes among households who did and did not participate in HWFP in the first year of the pandemic. Nearly 60% of respondents engaged in HWFP in some way during the first year of the pandemic, with food insecure households more likely to do HWFP. Furthermore, HWFP early in the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with improved food security in the 9-12 months later, though these improvements were primarily associated with newly, not chronically, food insecure households. Newly and chronically food insecure households were more likely to want to continue these activities in the future, but also exhibited greater barriers to land access and costs associated with these activities. These results suggest that HWFP may provide food security improvements for certain households that utilize them, especially during crisis situations. Future research about HWFP should continue to explore multiple HWFP strategies, their barriers, and their potentially myriad relationships to food security, diet, and health outcomes, especially with longitudinal data.

Abstract
Droplets made of liquid perfluorocarbon undergo a phase transition and transform into microbubbles when triggered by ultrasound of intensity beyond a critical threshold; this mechanism is called acoustic droplet vaporization (ADV). It has been shown that if the intensity of the signal coming from high ultrasonic harmonics are sufficiently high, superharmonic focusing is the mechanism leading to ADV for large droplets (>3 μm) and high frequencies (>1.5 MHz). In such a scenario, ADV is initiated due to a nucleus occurring at a specific location inside the droplet volume. But the question on what induces ADV in the case of nanometer-sized droplets and/or at low ultrasonic frequencies (<1.5 MHz) still remains. We investigated ADV of perfluorohexane (PFH) nano- and microdroplets at a frequency of 1.1 MHz and at conditions where there is no superharmonic focusing. Three types of droplets produced by microfluidics were studied: plain PFH droplets, PFH droplets containing many nanometer-sized water droplets, and droplets made of a PFH corona encapsulating a single micron-sized water droplet. The probability to observe a vaporization event was measured as a function of acoustic pressure. As our experiments were performed on droplet suspensions containing a population of monodisperse droplets, we developed a statistical model to extrapolate, from our experimental curves, the ADV pressure thresholds in the case where only one droplet would be insonified. We observed that the value of ADV pressure threshold decreases as the radius of a plain PFH droplet increases. This value was further reduced when a PFH droplet encapsulates a micron-sized water droplet, while the encapsulation of many nanometer-sized water droplets did not modify the threshold. These results cannot be explained by a model of homogeneous nucleation. However, we developed a heterogeneous nucleation model, where the nucleus appears at the surface in contact with PFH, that successfully predicts our experimental ADV results.

Abstract
Tissue-resident macrophages (TRMs) are long-lived cells that maintain locally and can be phenotypically distinct from monocyte-derived macrophages. Whether TRMs and monocyte-derived macrophages have district roles under differing pathologies is not understood. Here, we showed that a substantial portion of the macrophages that accumulated during pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer in mice had expanded from TRMs. Pancreas TRMs had an extracellular matrix remodeling phenotype that was important for maintaining tissue homeostasis during inflammation. Loss of TRMs led to exacerbation of severe pancreatitis and death, due to impaired acinar cell survival and recovery. During pancreatitis, TRMs elicited protective effects by triggering the accumulation and activation of fibroblasts, which was necessary for initiating fibrosis as a wound healing response. The same TRM-driven fibrosis, however, drove pancreas cancer pathogenesis and progression. Together, these findings indicate that TRMs play divergent roles in the pathogenesis of pancreatitis and cancer through regulation of stromagenesis.

Abstract
This study aimed to develop a multidisciplinary approach to assess the ecological status of six moderate-sized French estuaries. For each estuary, we gathered geographical information, hydrobiological data, chemistry of pollutants and fish biology, including integration of proteomics and transcriptomics data. This integrative study covered the entire hydrological system studied, from the watershed to the estuary, and considered all the anthropogenic factors that can impact this environment. To reach this goal, European flounder (Platichthys flesus) were collected from six estuaries in September, which ensures a minimum residence time of five months within an estuary. Geographical metrics are used to characterize land use in each watershed. The concentrations of nitrite, nitrate, organic pollutants, and trace elements were measured in water, sediments and biota. All of these environmental parameters allowed to set up a typology of estuaries. Classical fish biomarkers, coupled with molecular data from transcriptomics and shotgun proteomics, highlighted the flounder's responses to stressors in its environment. We analysed the protein abundances and gene expression levels in the liver of fish from the different estuaries. We showed clear positive deregulation of proteins associated with xenobiotic detoxification in a system characterized by a large population density and industrial activity, as well as in a predominantly agricultural catchment area (mostly cultures of vegetables and pig breeding) mainly impacted by pesticides. Fish from the latter estuary also displayed strong deregulation of the urea cycle, most probably related to high nitrogen load. Proteomic and transcriptomic data also revealed a deregulation of proteins and genes related to the response to hypoxia, and a probable endocrine disruption in some estuaries. Coupling these data allowed the precise identification of the main stressors interacting within each hydrosystem.

Abstract
We studied N 1s-1 inner-shell processes of the free base Phthalocyanine molecule, H2Pc, in the gas-phase. This complex organic molecule contains three different nitrogen sites defined by their covalent bonds. We identify the contribution of each site in ionized, core-shell excited or relaxed electronic states by the use of different theoretical methods. In particular, we present resonant Auger spectra along with a tentative new theoretical approach based on multiconfiguration self-consistent field calculations to simulate them. These calculations may pave the road towards resonant Auger spectroscopy in complex molecules.

Abstract
The main objective of this study was to improve our knowledge on the responses of fish populations to multistress (diffuse pollution and warming waters) in estuaries. Adult flounders were caught in two estuaries in the Eastern English Channel: the heavily polluted Seine estuary vs the moderately contaminated Canche estuary. Fish samplings were conducted in January just before the reproduction period, and in July when gonads were at rest. The overall rise in coastal winter water temperatures detected over the Channel impairs the flounder's phenology of reproduction in the two estuaries, inducing a delay of maturation process and probably also spawning. The higher liver histopathology index in Seine vs Canche could be the consequence of the fish exposition to a complex cocktail of contaminants in a strongly industrialized estuary. Higher levels of neurotoxicity, gill lipid peroxidation, and liver EROD activity were observed in Seine vs Canche. Furthermore, a possible impairment in mitochondrial metabolism was suggested in the Seine flounder population. We confirmed in this study the potential role of two membrane lipids (sphingomyelin and phosphatidylserine) in the resistance towards oxidative stress in Seine and Canche. Finally, we suggest that the Seine flounder population (and possibly the connected Eastern English Channel flounder populations over the French Coast) could be seriously impacted in the future by multistress: higher winter temperatures and chemical contamination.

Abstract
Real-time 3D ultrasound imaging with matrix arrays remains a challenge in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) due to the time-consuming reconstruction algorithms based on delay-and-sum operations. Other algorithms operating in the Fourier domain have lower algorithmic complexities and therefore higher frame rates at the cost of more storage space, which may limit the number of reconstruction points. In this paper, we present an implementation for real-time 3D imaging of the Total Focusing Method (TFM) and the Plane Wave Imaging (PWI), as well as of their Fourier-domain counterparts, referred to as k-TFM and k-PWI. For both types of acquisition, the Fourier-domain algorithms are used to increase frame rates, and they are compared to the time-domain TFM and PWI in terms of image quality, frame rates and memory requirements. In order to greatly reduce their memory requirements, a new implementation of k-TFM and k-PWI is proposed. The four imaging methods are then evaluated by imaging in real time a block of stainless steel containing a 3D network of spherical porosities produced by additive layer manufacturing using a powder bed laser fusion process.

Abstract
BACKGROUND People who experience childhood sexual abuse (CSA) have a higher rate of adolescent pregnancy than people who do not experience CSA. The purpose of this integrative review was to identify risk or protective factors that are associated with this group to help understand the high rate of adolescent pregnancy in people with CSA histories. METHODS This review was conducted using strategies described by Whittemore and Knafl (2005). Five research articles met the following criteria: written in English, published in peer-reviewed journals in the past 10 years, and included the examination of predictors of adolescent pregnancy in any domain of the social ecological model of individual, relationship, community, or societal factors present among girls with CSA histories. RESULTS Studies suggest that people who are abused in childhood through adolescence and are not believed when they report abuse may be at greater risk for pregnancy in adolescence. CSA was associated with a range of sexual risk taking behavior (e.g., ineffectual contraception use, drug and alcohol use prior to sex, multiple partners) which could lead to adolescent pregnancy. Individual-level behaviors where predominantly studied. There were no reports at the community or societal level of the model. CONCLUSIONS Identifying additional risk or protective factors at the relationship, community, and societal level may prove helpful in developing strategies tailored to this population. The unique characteristics that lead to higher rates of sexual risk-taking behavior that can lead to adolescent pregnancy have not been well documented and deserve further study to guide design and prevention/intervention modalities.

Abstract
The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study® is a 10-year longitudinal study of children recruited at ages 9 and 10. A battery of neuroimaging tasks are administered biennially to track neurodevelopment and identify individual differences in brain function. This study reports activation patterns from functional MRI (fMRI) tasks completed at baseline, which were designed to measure cognitive impulse control with a stop signal task (SST; N = 5,547), reward anticipation and receipt with a monetary incentive delay (MID) task (N = 6,657) and working memory and emotion reactivity with an emotional N-back (EN-back) task (N = 6,009). Further, we report the spatial reproducibility of activation patterns by assessing between-group vertex/voxelwise correlations of blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) activation. Analyses reveal robust brain activations that are consistent with the published literature, vary across fMRI tasks/contrasts and slightly correlate with individual behavioral performance on the tasks. These results establish the preadolescent brain function baseline, guide interpretation of cross-sectional analyses and will enable the investigation of longitudinal changes during adolescent development.

Abstract
Multimodal neuroimaging assessments were utilized to identify generalizable brain correlates of current body mass index (BMI) and predictors of pathological weight gain (i.e., beyond normative development) one year later. Multimodal data from children enrolled in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study® at 9-to-10-years-old, consisted of structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), resting state (rs), and three task-based functional (f) MRI scans assessing reward processing, inhibitory control, and working memory. Cross-validated elastic-net regression revealed widespread structural associations with BMI (e.g., cortical thickness, surface area, subcortical volume, and DTI), which explained 35% of the variance in the training set and generalized well to the test set (R2 = 0.27). Widespread rsfMRI inter- and intra-network correlations were related to BMI (R2train = 0.21; R2test = 0.14), as were regional activations on the working memory task (R2train = 0.20; (R2test = 0.16). However, reward and inhibitory control tasks were unrelated to BMI. Further, pathological weight gain was predicted by structural features (Area Under the Curve (AUC)train = 0.83; AUCtest = 0.83, p < 0.001), but not by fMRI nor rsfMRI. These results establish generalizable brain correlates of current weight and future pathological weight gain. These results also suggest that sMRI may have particular value for identifying children at risk for pathological weight gain.

Abstract
Climate change, along with environmental pollution, can act synergistically on an organism to amplify adverse effects of exposure. The Arctic is undergoing profound climatic change and an increase in human activity, resulting in a heightened risk of accidental oil spills. Embryos and larvae of polar cod (Boreogadus saida), a key Arctic forage fish species, were exposed to low levels of crude oil concurrently with a 2.3 °C increase in water temperature. Here we show synergistic adverse effects of increased temperature and crude oil exposure on early life stages documented by an increased prevalence of malformations and mortality in exposed larvae. The combined effects of these stressors were most prevalent in the first feeding larval stages despite embryonic exposure, highlighting potential long-term consequences of exposure for survival, growth, and reproduction. Our findings suggest that a warmer Arctic with greater human activity will adversely impact early life stages of this circumpolar forage fish.

Abstract
Objective To identify molecular features that distinguish individuals with shared clinical features of granulomatous uveitis. Design Cross-sectional, observational study. Participants Four eyes from patients with active granulomatous uveitis. Methods We performed single-cell RNA-sequencing with antigen-receptor sequence analysis to obtain an unbiased gene expression survey of ocular immune cells and identify clonally expanded lymphocytes. Main Outcomes Measures For each inflamed eye, we measured the proportion of distinct immune cell types, the amount of B or T cell clonal expansion, and the transcriptional profile of T and B cells. Results Each individual had robust clonal expansion arising from a single T or B cell lineage, suggesting distinct, antigen-driven pathogenic processes in each patient. This variability in clonal expansion was mirrored by individual variability in CD4 T cell populations, whereas ocular CD8 T cells and B cells were more transcriptionally similar between patients. Finally, ocular B cells displayed evidence of class-switching and plasmablast differentiation within the ocular microenvironment, providing additional support for antigen-driven immune responses in granulomatous uveitis. Conclusions Collectively, our study identified both conserved and individualized features of granulomatous uveitis, illuminating parallel pathophysiologic mechanisms, and suggesting that future personalized therapeutic approaches may be warranted.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To characterize hedonic eating behaviors such as sugar cravings, food preferences, and appetitive responsiveness for sweet and hyper-palatable foods, and to determine the prevalence of addictive like eating behaviors and food addiction (FA) in individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD). DESIGN Quasi-experimental. SETTING Outpatient MAT center. PARTICIPANTS Nonpregnant adult patients undergoing MAT (n = 116) receiving either buprenorphine/naloxone or methadone for at least 6 months. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Hedonic eating, FA, and food craving. RESULTS Of the aggregate sample, 13.3 percent met criteria for FA. More than onethird of all subjects endorsed consuming larger amounts of highly palatable food than intended, unsuccessful attempts to quit or cut down on eating such foods, and a great deal of time spent on consuming or recovering from consuming such foods. Both medication groups demonstrated greatest cravings for sweets and fast foods followed by carbohydrates and fats (p < 0.001). Similarly, subjects reported "giving in" most frequently to sweets and fast foods followed by carbohydrates then fats (p < 0.001). Greater appetitive responsiveness was noted in the presence of hyper-palatable foods. No group differences were found. Weight change was not associated with addictive like eating, food craving, or appetitive responsiveness. CONCLUSIONS Individuals receiving MAT exhibit preferences for sweet and fast foods that appear to be influenced by the proximity of such foods. FA was present. Collectively, such eating behaviors and food preferences may pose additional adverse health consequences and associated co-morbidities. This underlies the importance of comprehensive healthcare for patients with OUD, including nutrition education and evaluation of eating behaviors and food preferences.

Abstract
While microplastics are present in great abundance across all seas and oceans, little is known about their effects on marine life. In the aquatic environment, they can accumulate a variety of chemicals and can be ingested by many marine organisms including fish, with chronic physical and chemical effects. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the toxic effects of pollutants sorbed at the surface of environmental microplastics (MPs), collected on various beaches from three islands of the Pacific Ocean. Developmental toxicity of virgin MPs or artificially coated with B[a]P and environmental MPs from Easter Island, Guam and Hawaii was evaluated on embryos and prolarvae of Japanese medaka. Mortality, hatching success, biometry, malformations, EROD activity and DNA damage were analyzed after exposure to DMSO extracts. No toxicity was observed for extracts of virgin MPs whatever the endpoint considered. Extracts of virgin MPs coated with 250 µg.g-1 of B(a)P induced lethal effects with high embryo mortality (+81%) and low hatching rate (-28%) and sublethal effects including biometry and swimming behavior changes, increase of EROD activity (+94%) and DNA damage (+60%). Environmental MPs collected on the three selected islands exhibited different polymer, pollutant and toxicity patterns. The highest toxicity was detected for MPs extract from Hawaï with head/body length and swimming speed decreases and induction of EROD activity and DNA stand breaks. This study reports the possible sublethal toxicity of organic pollutants sorbed on MPs to fish early life stages.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Research suggests that substance use disorders and disordered eating are often comorbid. In light of the ongoing opioid epidemic, the purpose of the current study was to understand the prevalence and health-related correlates of loss of control (LOC) eating in adults seeking methadone maintenance treatment primarily for addiction to heroin and/or painkillers. METHODS Participants were 447 adults surveyed at presentation for methadone maintenance treatment who responded to survey items on LOC eating. Descriptive statistics were used to investigate the prevalence of engaging in LOC eating in the past 2 weeks. Chi-square tests, t tests, and analyses of covariance were used to compare individuals with (LOC+; n = 164) and without (LOC-; n = 283) recent LOC eating on psychosocial, pain-related, and weight-related characteristics. RESULTS Approximately one third of respondents endorsed LOC eating in the past 2 weeks. These participants reported greater affective symptoms, interpersonal dysfunction, pain intensity, and pain interference than the LOC- group (Cohen's d effect size range = .24-.94). LOC+ was also more likely to have engaged in recent illicit drug use and to report having concurrent overweight/obesity (φ effect size range = .09-.10). CONCLUSION The prevalence of LOC eating in adults seeking methadone maintenance treatment was more than triple what has been reported in previous studies using community samples. Given its associations with other health-related variables, the presence of LOC eating may be a marker for more severe psychopathology in individuals seeking methadone maintenance treatment. Future research is needed to understand mechanisms explaining this comorbidity and to develop novel ways to prevent and treat their co-occurrence.

Abstract
Stormwaters is identified as a major source of pollution in waterbodies. Particularly, heavy metals (HMs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in stormwater are highly toxic compounds for living organisms. To limit the impact of these micropollutants on hydrosystems quality, stormwater constructed wetlands (SCWs) have been built worldwide. This study aims to i) assess the efficiency of a SCW that combines a sedimentation pond followed by a vertical flow sand filter in urban area (Strasbourg 67, France) and ii) determine micropollutants storage in water and soils during dry periods. Stormwater quality was analysed during 13 sampling sessions and the SCW storage ability during dry period was highlighted. The rainfall events sampled are characterized by very high variability: dry periods lasted from 5 h to 10 d, rain durations varied from 15 min to 22 h and the return periods were between 2 and 4 wk. and 3-6 mo. The inflow stormwater included a high amount of Zn and a variety of PAHs. Cu, Zn and some PAHs concentrations are impacted by hydrological characteristics. During a rain event, the filter catches the majority of both dissolved and particulate micropollutants and the mobilization of particulate micropollution by incoming flow decreases pond removal efficiency. The treatment removal efficiency varied from 50% (naphthalene) to 100% (particulate Zn). Four HMs (Co, Cu, Pb, Zn) were found in the pond and seven (Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn) in the filter during a dry period at high concentrations compared to their occurrence in rainfall. A release of HMs from the filter sand to the interstitial water is highlighted. In water and the soil matrix, PAHs occurrence was consistent with their water solubility, logKow and logKoc.

Abstract
Different combinations of operational parameters including water level, paddle rotational speed and influent flow rate were applied to investigate their impacts on mixing characteristics, residence time distribution and gas transfer rate in a pilot-scale high rate algal pond. In closed condition, the paddle rotational speed had a positive correlation with the Bodenstein number (Bo), water velocity and oxygen volumetric mass transfer coefficient (kLaO2) while increasing water level generated a negative impact on these parameters, although the impact of water level on water linear velocity was small. The amplification effect of water level and paddle rotational speed on the sensitivity of Bo and kLaO2 should be noticed. Moreover, paddle rotational speed had more impact on kLaO2 than on Bo. The study in open condition indicated that effective volume fraction had a positive correlation with inlet flow rate and negative correlation with paddle rotation, while the opposite was observed in the case of Peclet number. The impact of water level variation on these parameters was unclear. Both water level and paddle rotational speed had negative impacts on the short-circuiting index, while no correlation was observed when varying inlet flow rate. In this study, the optimal operational conditions included low water level (0.1 m) and medium paddle rotational speed (11.6 rpm).

Abstract
Urban stormwater affects the general quality of water bodies because of their hydraulic and pollution impacts. Stormwater discharges modify stream water flow and are reported as major source of heavy metals (HMs) in urban streams. Stormwater Constructed Wetlands (SCWs) have been built worldwide to manage stormwater before it is released into hydrosystems. In SCWs, stormwater is stored, evaporated and sometimes infiltrated. Subsequently, the HMs in stormwater can be settled, filtered and bioassimilated by microorganisms. Hence, the efficiency of SCWs in managing stormwater depends on climatic conditions, which change with season. The aim of this study was to investigate the impacts of seasonality on the performance of a 6-year-old constructed wetland made with a pond followed by a vertical flow filter. Hydraulic performance of, physico-chemical behaviour of, and HM mitigation via the SCW were evaluated using over 3 years of monitoring (2015-2017) data. Only 35% of the rain events that occurred in the studied catchment caused a discharge into the pond and 17% into the filter. The SCW was mostly supplied with stormwater in spring and summer and provided peak flow attenuation from 97 to 100% in all seasons. Variations in physico-chemical parameters (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and redox potential) were caused by seasonal and dry/wet weather changes. They were greater in the pond than in the filter, which buffers these variations. The high physico-chemical variations in the pond probably had a deleterious effect on HM storage in the pond sediments. Finally, hydrologic and physico-chemical conditions (antecedent dry period length, pH, redox potential) affected the HM concentrations along the SCW. However, HM removal efficiencies were >97% in all seasons.

Abstract
MultiCellular Tumor Spheroids are 3D cell cultures that can accurately reproduce the behavior of solid tumors. It has been experimentally observed that large spheroids exhibit a decreasing gradient of proliferation from the periphery to the center of these multicellular 3D models: the proportion of proliferating cells is higher in the periphery while the non-proliferating quiescent cells increase in depth. In this paper, we propose to investigate the key mechanisms involved in the establishment of this gradient with a Partial Differential Equations model that mimics the experimental set-up of growing spheroids under different nutrients supply conditions. The model consists of mass balance equations on the two cell populations observed in the data: the proliferating cells and the quiescent cells. The spherical symmetry is used to rewrite the model in radial and relative coordinates. Thanks to a rigorous data postprocessing the model is then fit and compared quantitatively with the experimental quantification of the percentage of proliferating cells from EdU immunodetection on 2D spheroid cryosection images. The results of this calibration show that the proliferation gradient observed in spheroids can be quantitatively reproduced by our model.

Abstract
BACKGROUND French post-acute care and rehabilitation facilities describe and code their activity through the Program for Medicalization of Information Systems (PMSI). A new specific catalogue of rehabilitation procedures (CSARR) has been implemented to code rehabilitation acts since 2013. This study aimed to assess the coherence of the coding of the rehabilitation acts using the CSARR two years after its establishment through the analyze of 3 main items regarding patients and therapists. METHODS We analyzed the use of CSARR for coding rehabilitation acts from the PMSI national database for post-acute care and rehabilitation, in 2015. Analyses were made on specific items characterizing rehabilitation acts: "number of patients", "type of therapists" and "number of therapists". RESULTS There were 72,014,731 rehabilitation acts coded in 2015 using CSARR nomenclature; 86% were individual rehabilitation acts. All acts of CSARR, except one, were used to describe rehabilitation activities. Physiotherapists coded the majority of rehabilitation acts (47%), then nurses (14%). Coding errors were identified as the "number of patients", coded with more than one patient for individual acts (13% of the acts) or with less than 2 patients for groups (6% of the acts), or the "number of therapists" coded with only one therapist for rehabilitation acts requiring several professionals. CONCLUSION This first assessment indicated a good level of appropriation of the CSARR coding rules in the national PMSI database by post-acute care and rehabilitation facilities. However, a simplification of this catalogue and therapist training could increase the quality of the rehabilitation data.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Findings from studies of food addiction in adults suggest those with food addiction are less successful in weight-loss interventions. Little is known about food addiction in obesity treatment-seeking adolescents; therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence of food addiction and correlates of food addiction symptoms in obese adolescents entering an outpatient, weight management program. METHODS Obese adolescents (n = 26) were administered the Yale Food Addiction Scale for Children (YFAS-C), measures of appetitive responsiveness, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) before and following a 12-week, outpatient, behavioral weight management program. Descriptive statistics and correlations between YFAS-C symptoms and study variables were performed and further examined with linear regression. Baseline differences were compared between those meeting criteria for food addiction to those who did not (independent t-tests) and pre-postweight management program changes were examined (paired t-tests). RESULTS 30.7% met criteria for food addiction and 50% reported ≥3 symptoms. Number of YFAS-C symptoms was correlated with appetitive responsiveness (r = 0.57, p < 0.05) and inversely correlated with all domains of HRQOL (r = 0.47-0.53, p < 0.05). Attrition rate was higher in adolescents with food addiction compared to those without (62.5% vs. 44.4%, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Adolescents with food addiction or with a higher number of food addiction symptoms may warrant additional resources to support adherence to and retention with a weight management program. Implementing screening measures for food addiction before enrolling in a weight management program may be an effective strategy to identify adolescents who may benefit from adjunct modalities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE More than one third of American adults are obese. Extreme obesity is rapidly rising. Nine medications are approved for weight loss yet they remain underutilized with the focus primarily on lifestyle modifications. The objective was to determine current prescribing patterns and attitudes of weight loss medications in the management of obesity among primary care providers (PCPs). METHODS PCPs were surveyed to determine practice patterns, attitudes, barriers, and facilitators for prescribing weight loss medications. CONCLUSIONS Ninety-four surveys were analyzed. Seventy-six percent of all PCPs did not prescribe weight loss medications for long-term weight loss and 58% of PCPs had negative perceptions of pharmacotherapy. Differences existed between prescribing patterns and attitudes of advanced practice clinicians and physicians. Safety concerns were the greatest barrier. Having 2+ comorbidities and severe obesity were facilitators for prescribing weight loss medications. Underutilization of pharmacotherapy suggests that PCPs may not have sufficient knowledge about medication safety profiles and efficacy. Delaying treatment until patients have reached a high level of morbidity may be less efficacious than earlier treatment. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE Education regarding effectiveness and risks of weight loss medications for obesity management is needed and earlier interventions with pharmacotherapy may prevent significant morbidity and mortality.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Preterm infants are commonly treated by non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), which are associated with fewer complications than nasotracheal intubation. In preterm infants with a cleft lip and palate, this method of respiratory management is difficult or impossible to perform because of air leakage through the cleft defect. CASE We report a male infant who was born at 29 weeks of gestation with a left complete unilateral cleft lip and palate. Birth weight was 900 grammes. Because of the cleft, we have any problems to ventile this infant. We decide to close the cleft prematurely on day 17 after multidisciplinary discussion. DISCUSSION NIV cannot be performed with the usual equipment in very premature infants with a cleft lip and palate because of air leakage through the cleft defect. Very few studies report pre term infant with cleft lip and palate and his difficulties of ventilation. This is the first case reported to perform cheiloplasty on a 900g preterm infant.

Abstract
The sphingosine kinase-1/sphingosine 1-phosphate (SphK1/S1P) signaling pathway has been reported to modulate the expression of the canonical transcription factor hypoxia-inducible HIF-1α in multiple cell lineages. HIF-2α is also frequently overexpressed in solid tumors but its role has been mostly studied in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the most common form of kidney cancer, where HIF-2α has been established as a driver of a more aggressive disease. In this study, the role of SphK1/S1P signaling with regard to HIF-2α was investigated in various cancer cell models including ccRCC cells. Under hypoxic conditions or in ccRCC lacking a functional von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) gene and expressing high levels of HIF-2α, SphK1 activity controls HIF-2α expression and transcriptional activity through a phospholipase D (PLD)-driven mechanism. SphK1 silencing promotes a VHL-independent HIF-2α loss of expression and activity and reduces cell proliferation in ccRCC. Importantly, downregulation of SphK1 is associated with impaired Akt and mTOR signaling in ccRCC. Taking advantage of a monoclonal antibody neutralizing extracellular S1P, we show that inhibition of S1P extracellular signaling blocks HIF-2α accumulation in ccRCC cell lines, an effect mimicked when the S1P transporter Spns2 or the S1P receptor 1 (S1P1) is silenced. Here, we report the first evidence that the SphK1/S1P signaling pathway regulates the transcription factor hypoxia-inducible HIF-2α in diverse cancer cell lineages notably ccRCC, where HIF-2α has been established as a driver of a more aggressive disease. These findings demonstrate that SphK1/S1P signaling may act as a canonical regulator of HIF-2α expression in ccRCC, giving support to its inhibition as a therapeutic strategy that could contribute to reduce HIF-2 activity in ccRCC.

Abstract
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a rapidly emerging field in wastewater treatment (WWT), with application to almost all unit processes. This paper provides an overview of CFD applied to a wide range of unit processes in water and WWT from hydraulic elements like flow splitting to physical, chemical and biological processes like suspended growth nutrient removal and anaerobic digestion. The paper's focus is on articulating the state of practice and research and development needs. The level of CFD's capability varies between different process units, with a high frequency of application in the areas of final sedimentation, activated sludge basin modelling and disinfection, and greater needs in primary sedimentation and anaerobic digestion. While approaches are comprehensive, generally capable of incorporating non-Newtonian fluids, multiphase systems and biokinetics, they are not broad, and further work should be done to address the diversity of process designs. Many units have not been addressed to date. Further needs are identified throughout, but common requirements include improved particle aggregation and breakup (flocculation), and improved coupling of biology and hydraulics.

Abstract
PUPOSE This national survey aims, on the one hand, to perform a comparative analysis of working conditions, job strain and burnout of Belgian nurses, physicists and radiation oncologists working in radiotherapy and, on the other hand, to explore the role of emotional labor in the development of stress and burnout. METHODS We used the Working Conditions and Control Questionnaire, the Positive and Negative Occupational States Inventory, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the negative work-home interaction subscale of the Survey Work-Home Interaction Nijmegen (NEGWHI), Perceived Organizational Support Scale and Emotional Labor Scale. One open question asked about problematic job situations. RESULTS Ninety-eight nurses and physicists participated (33 % response rate), in addition to 66 radiation oncologists from a previous study. Although global scores of working conditions, job strain and burnout corresponded to normal scores, comparative analysis identified physicists as focus group concerning job strain and burnout. Moreover, nurses and physicists surface acting was a good predictor of job strain (β=0.22, P=0.01), emotional exhaustion (β=0.32, P<0.001) and depersonalization (β=0.43, P<0.001). Nevertheless, perceived organizational support was a moderator in this relation. CONCLUSION Radiotherapy employees were in the norms. The importance of organizational support was demonstrated to avoid potential health problems, for workers experiencing high levels of emotional demands.

Abstract
To date, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models have been primarily used for evaluation of hydraulic problems at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). A potentially more powerful use, however, is to simulate integrated physical, chemical and/or biological processes involved in WWTP unit processes on a spatial scale and to use the gathered knowledge to accelerate improvement in plant models for everyday use, that is, design and optimized operation. Evolving improvements in computer speed and memory and improved software for implementing CFD, as well as for integrated processes, has allowed for broader usage of this tool for understanding, troubleshooting, and optimal design of WWTP unit processes. This paper proposes a protocol for an alternative use of CFD in process modelling, as a way to gain insight into complex systems leading to improved modelling approaches used in combination with the IWA activated sludge models and other kinetic models.

Abstract
MultiCellular Tumor Spheroid (MCTS) mimic the organization of a tumor and is considered as an invaluable model to study cancer cell biology and to evaluate new antiproliferative drugs. We report how the characteristics of MCTS in association with new technological developments can be used to explore the regionalization, the dynamics of cell cycle checkpoints and the effects of anticancer drugs in 3D. Spheroids expressing fluorescent reporters were engineered and used to explore cell cycle distribution and regionalization during growth. In these models we monitored cell cycle arrest in response to checkpoint activation after growth factor starvation, DNA injury or treatment with chemotherapeutic agents. The kinetics and regionalized aspects of the response were investigated both on fixed sections and on live spheroids using light sheet microscopy. All together, our data demonstrate the power of the combination of spheroids made of genetically modified cells expressing cell cycle reporters with both classical antibody-based detection and the use of innovative 3D imaging strategy. This study paves the way for the investigation of the molecular aspects of checkpoint response in 3D models and the dynamic studies of the 3D response to novel antiproliferative agents.
