Abstract
OBJECTIVES The study aimed to investigate the prevalence and factors associated with poor health-related quality of life in adults with cancer in Uganda. METHODS This cross-sectional study surveyed 385 adult patients (95% response rate) with various cancers at a specialised oncology facility in Uganda. Health-related quality of life was measured using the EORTC QLQ-C30 in the Luganda and English languages. Predetermined validated clinical thresholds were applied to the instrument in order to identify patients with poor health-related quality of life, that is, functional impairments or symptoms warranting concern. Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with poor health-related quality of life in six subscales: Physical Function, Role Function, Emotional Function, Social Function, Pain and Fatigue. RESULTS The mean age of the patients was 48 years. The majority self-reported poor functioning ranging between 61% (Emotional Function) to 79% (Physical Function) and symptoms (Fatigue 63%, Pain 80%) at clinically concerning levels. These patients were more likely to be older, without formal education and not currently working. Being an inpatient at the facility and being diagnosed with cervical cancer or leukaemia was a predictor of poor health-related quality of life. CONCLUSION Improvement of cancer care in East Africa requires a comprehensive and integrated approach that addresses various challenges specific to the region. Such strategies include investment in healthcare infrastructure, for example, clinical guidelines to improve pain management, and patient education and support services.

Abstract
Fatigue has been reported to be the most common symptom experienced by patients receiving hemodialysis (HD) therapy. Fatigue can lead to a reduction in their ability to engage in both routine and self-care activities, which can negatively affect their self-confidence and quality of life. This study aimed to determine the level of fatigue and the factors that affecting its level among patients receiving uHD. METHODS A cross-sectional design was utilized to explore the level of fatigue among patients receiving maintenance HD using the Mul-tidimensional Assessment of Fatigue (MAF) scale. Data were collected from four dialysis centers in two Saudi Arabia cities, Hail and Al-Qassim, between January 2022 and October 2022. RESULTS The questionnaire was completed by 236 patients. Older patients, male patients, and retired pa-tients reported significantly higher levels of fatigue (p < 0.001). In contrast, marital status, educational level, and financial status did not significantly affect the level of fatigue among patients (p = 0.193, 0.285, and 0.126, respectively). Patients who had seven or more dependents reported more fatigue than those who had lower levels of fatigue or who did not have dependents (p = 0.004). In addition, patients who had a regular exercise regimen reported significantly lower fatigue than those who did not have an exercise regimen (p = 0.011). Multiple linear regression demonstrated that employment status (student), comorbidity condition (one chronic disease), dialysis duration, satisfaction with dialysis time, and dialysis time were found to affect the fatigue scores (R2 = 0.302, p ˂ 0.001). CONCLUSION The findings of this study gives a broader understanding of factors influencing fatigue among patients with HD that will help to develop strategies of more focused interventions to reduce fatigue among patients with HD.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION This study aims to analyze the risk factors for severe fatigue in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients and develop a clinical prediction model to help doctors and patients prevent severe fatigue. METHODS Multicentre MHD patients were included in this study. The objective was to investigate the risk factors for severe fatigue in MHD patients and develop a prediction model. RESULTS A total of 243 MHD patients were included in the study, and the incidence of severe fatigue was found to be 20.99%. Using age, body mass index, total cholesterol, and albumin levels, a predictive nomogram for fatigue was constructed. In the training set, the nomogram had an area under the curve of 0.851, sensitivity of 82.86%, specificity of 81.76%, and c-index of 0.851. The nomogram was accurate in calibration and proved to be clinically useful. CONCLUSION The nomogram developed in this study is a practical and reliable tool for quickly identifying severe fatigue in MHD patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Post-stroke fatigue (PSF) is common and often disabling. Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is highly prevalent among stroke survivors and can cause fatigue. We explored the relationship between SDB and PSF over time. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ischemic stroke (IS) patients within the BASIC project were offered SDB screening with a well-validated cardiopulmonary sleep apnea test at 0, 3-, 6-, and 12-months post-stroke. The primary exposure was the respiratory event index (REI; sum of apneas plus hypopneas per hour). The primary outcome was PSF, measured by the SF-36 vitality scale. Associations between REI and PSF were evaluated using linear regression including time-by-REI interactions, allowing the effect of REI to vary over time. RESULTS Of the 411 IS patients who completed at least one outcome interview, 44 % were female, 61 % Mexican American (MA), 26 % non-Hispanic white, with a mean age of 64 (SD 10). Averaged across timepoints, REI was not associated with PSF. In a time-varying model, higher REI was associated with greater PSF at 3-months (β = 1.75, CI = 0.08, 3.43), but not at 6- or 12-months. Across timepoints, female sex, depressive symptoms, and comorbidity burden were associated with greater PSF, whereas MA ethnicity was associated with less PSF. CONCLUSIONS Higher REI was associated with modestly greater PSF in the early post-stroke period, but no association was observed at 6 months and beyond. SDB may be a modest modifiable risk factor for early PSF, but its treatment is unlikely to have a substantial impact on long-term PSF. MA ethnicity seems to be protective against PSF.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of the study is to evaluate the factorial structure and the psychometric qualities of the Pandemic Fatigue Scale among the Quebec adult population. METHOD The data analyzed come from a web survey conducted in October 2021 among 10 368 adults residing in Quebec. The scale's factor structure and invariance by gender, age and language used to complete the questionnaire were tested using confirmatory factor analyses. Convergent and divergent validity were also assessed. Finally, the reliability of the scale was estimated from the alpha and omega coefficients. RESULTS The analyzes suggest the presence of a bidimensional structure in the sample of Quebec adults with informational fatigue and behavioral fatigue. The invariance of the measure is noted for sex, for age subgroups and for the language used for the questionnaire. The results of convergent and divergent validity provide additional evidence for the validity of the scale. Finally, the reliability of the scale scores is excellent. CONCLUSION The results support the presence of a bidimensional structure as in the initial work of Lilleholt et al. They also confirm that the scale has good psychometric qualities and that it can be used among the adult population of Quebec.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Post-acute COVID-19 syndrome is a condition where individuals experience persistent symptoms after the acute phase of the COVID-19 infection has resolved, which lowers their quality of life and ability to return to work. This study assessed the prevalence and associated risk factors of post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS) among severe COVID-19 patients who were discharged from Millennium COVID-19 Care Center, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. METHODS A cross-sectional study using data collected from patient charts and a follow-up telephone interview after two years of discharge. Systematic random sampling was used to select a total of 400 patients. A structured questionnaire developed from the case report form for PACS of the World Health Organization (WHO) was used. Frequency and cross-tabulation were used for descriptive statistics. Predictor variables with a p-value <0.25 in bivariate analyses were included in the logistic regression. RESULT Out of the 400 patients, 20 patients were dead, 14 patients refused to give consent, and 26 patients couldn't be reached because their phones weren't working. Finally, 340 were included in the study. The majority (68.5%) were males and the mean age was 53.9 (±13.3 SD) years. More than a third (38.1%) of the patients reported the persistence of at least one symptom after hospital discharge. The most common symptoms were fatigue (27.5%) and Cough (15.3%). Older age (AOR 1.04, 95% CI 1.02-1.07), female sex (AOR 1.82, 95% CI 1.00-3.29), presence of comorbidity (AOR 2.38, 95% CI 1.35-4.19), alcohol use (AOR 3.05, 95% CI 1.49-6.26), fatigue at presentation (AOR 2.18, 95% CI 1.21-3.95), and longer hospital stay (AOR 1.06, 95% CI 1.02-1.10) were found to increase the odds of developing post-acute COVID-19 syndrome. Higher hemoglobin level was found to decrease the risk of subsequent post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (AOR 0.84, 95% CI 0.71-0.99). CONCLUSION The prevalence of post-acute COVID-19 syndrome is high, with a wide range of persistent symptoms experienced by patients. COVID-19 survivors with the identified risk factors are more susceptible to post-acute COVID-19 and require targeted monitoring and care in a multidisciplinary approach.

Abstract
PURPOSE To identify the symptom cluster among cancer survivors and examine their subgroup differences via network analysis based on nationally representative data. METHODS This cross-sectional study included 2966 survivors participating in the 2020 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). Participants self-reported the presence of 14 symptoms capturing four clusters (physical, somatic, sleep, and psychologic problems). Network analysis models were used to reveal the relationships between symptoms and those interactions. Network comparison tests were applied to compare subgroups. RESULTS The core symptoms of the symptom cluster were fatigue (Bet = 33, Clo = 0.0067, Str = 0.9397), pain (Bet = 11, Clo = 0.0060, Str = 0.9226), wake up well rested (Bet = 25, Clo = 0.0057, Str = 0.8491), and anxiety (Bet = 5, Clo = 0.0043, Str = 0.9697) among cancer survivors. The core symptoms, network structure, and global strength were invariant between time since diagnoses (< 2 years vs. ≥ 2 years) or between numbers of cancers (1 vs. ≥ 2), yet varied between the comorbidity group and non-comorbidity group (≥ 1 vs. 0). CONCLUSIONS Fatigue would be a potential target for alleviating other symptoms through a negative feedback loop of other related symptoms of cancer survivors. In particular, cancer survivors with other chronic diseases should be the focus of attention and strengthen targeted intervention.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Depression and fatigue are commonly observed sequelae following viral diseases such as COVID-19. Identifying symptom constellations that differentially classify post-COVID depression and fatigue may be helpful to individualize treatment strategies. Here, we investigated whether self-reported post-COVID depression and post-COVID fatigue are associated with the same or different symptom constellations. METHODS To address this question, we used data from COVIDOM, a population-based cohort study conducted as part of the NAPKON-POP platform. Data were collected in three different German regions (Kiel, Berlin, Würzburg). We analyzed data from >2000 individuals at least six months past a PCR-confirmed COVID-19 disease, using elastic net regression and cluster analysis. The regression model was developed in the Kiel data set, and externally validated using data sets from Berlin and Würzburg. RESULTS Our results revealed that post-COVID depression and fatigue are associated with overlapping symptom constellations consisting of difficulties with daily activities, perceived health-related quality of life, chronic exhaustion, unrestful sleep, and impaired concentration. Confirming the overlap in symptom constellations, a follow-up cluster analysis could categorize individuals as scoring high or low on depression and fatigue but could not differentiate between both dimensions. LIMITATIONS The data presented are cross-sectional, consisting primarily of self-reported questionnaire or medical records rather than biometric data. CONCLUSIONS In summary, our results suggest a strong link between post-COVID depression and fatigue, highlighting the need for integrative treatment approaches.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pandemic fatigue generates low motivation or the ability to comply with protective behaviors to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. AIMS This study aimed to analyze the symptoms of pandemic fatigue through network analysis in individuals from five South American countries. METHOD A total of 1,444 individuals from Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay participated and were evaluated using the Pandemic Fatigue Scale. The networks were estimated using the ggmModSelect estimation method and a polychoric correlation matrix was used. Stability assessment of the five networks was performed using the nonparametric resampling method based on the case bootstrap type. For the estimation of network centrality, a metric based on node strength was used, whereas network comparison was performed using a permutation-based approach. RESULTS The results showed that the relationships between pandemic fatigue symptoms were strongest in the demotivation dimension. Variability in the centrality of pandemic fatigue symptoms was observed among participating countries. Finally, symptom networks were invariant and almost identical across participating countries. CONCLUSIONS This study is the first to provide information on how pandemic fatigue symptoms were related during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Fatigue is a complex and frequent symptom in persons with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with detrimental impact. We aimed to determine predictors of fatigue over time. METHODS Two hundred forty-seven adults with IBD participated in a prospective study conducted in Manitoba, Canada, providing data at baseline and annually for 3 years. Participants reported fatigue impact (Daily Fatigue Impact Scale [DFIS]), depression and anxiety symptoms (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale [HADS]), and pain (Pain Effects Scale [PES]). Physician-diagnosed comorbidities, IBD characteristics, and physical and cognitive functioning were also assessed. We tested factors associated with fatigue using multivariable generalized linear models that estimated within-person and between-person effects. RESULTS Most participants were women (63.2%), White (85.4%), and had Crohn's disease (62%). At baseline, 27.9% reported moderate-severe fatigue impact, 16.7% had clinically elevated anxiety (HADS-A ≥11), and 6.5% had clinically elevated depression (HADS-D ≥11). Overall fatigue burden was stable over time, although approximately half the participants showed improved or worsening fatigue impact between annual visits during the study. On multivariable analysis, participants with a one-point higher HADS-D score had, on average, a 0.63-point higher DFIS score, whereas participants with a one-point higher PES score had a 0.78-point higher DFIS score. Within individuals, a one-point increase in HADS-D scores was associated with 0.61-point higher DFIS scores, in HADS-A scores with 0.23-point higher DFIS scores, and in PES scores with 0.38-point higher DFIS scores. No other variables predicted fatigue. DISCUSSION Anxiety, depression, and pain predicted fatigue impact over time in IBD, suggesting that targeting psychological factors and pain for intervention may lessen fatigue burden.

Abstract
The current study aimed to describe sleep habits and analyze the associations between sleep indices, changes in perceived fatigue (Δ Fatigue) and external training load measures in women soccer players during a 7-day training camp. Sixteen elite women soccer players (age: 25.4 ± 3.6 years; mean ± SD) from the Portuguese Women's National Team participated in the study. Sleep indices (sleep duration and efficiency) were measured using a wrist-worn accelerometer. External training loads measures were measured using GPS devices. Players also reported perceived fatigue using a Likert scale (1 - very, very low to 7 - very, very high) before and immediately after sleep. Players' within-subject coefficient of variation for sleep duration was 5.6%, and 4.6% for sleep efficiency. Individually, 8 players (50%) slept less than 7 h per night throughout the training camp, and the same number of athletes had a sleep efficiency lower than 85%. Similar values (p<0.05) were measured for sleep duration and efficiency between training and match days. A moderate negative within-subjects correlation was found between Δ Fatigue and sleep duration (adjusted for pre-sleep fatigue) [r = -0.32; 95% Confidence Interval (-0.51 - -0.08); p = 0.04]. These findings reinforce the importance of sleep in the recovery process of elite women soccer players, showing that more sleep may help to attenuate fatigue.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It has become increasingly clear that SARS-CoV-2 infection can lead to persistent physical and mental health problems lasting weeks or months, requiring prolonged periods of clinical care and increasing the burden on the healthcare system. This phenomenon, known as post COVID-19 syndrome (PCS), is a relatively new condition, its incidence is still unclear and differs between studies. OBJECTIVES In this cohort study, we aimed to estimate the incidence of PCS and to identify its risk factors in the Tunisian population. METHODS This is a prospective cohort study that enrolled patients diagnosed with COVID-19 from the triage unit of the University Hospital of Monastir, Tunisia. between April 2021 and June 2022. Patients were contacted by phone for a follow-up evaluation of PCS 12- weeks after the diagnosis date. RESULTS A total of 1451 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 during the study period, responded to the follow-up evaluation after 3 months. The incidence of PCS was found to be 44.03% (95% CI [41.47; 46.58]), with fatigue being the most common symptom (21.5%), followed by cognitive impairment (10.3%), including memory loss and difficulty concentrating. Multivariate analysis revealed that the main associated factors to PCS were female gender (RR = 1.54; CI95% [1.30 - 1.82]), pre-existing comorbidities (RR = 1.30; CI95% [1.10 - 1.52]), duration of acute COVID-19 illness (days) (RR = 1.02; CI95% [1.01 - 1.03]), hospitalization (RR = 1.27; CI95% [1.05 - 1.53]), number of COVID-19 episodes (RR = 1.46; CI 95% [1.28 - 1.67]) and patients having receive two or more doses of vaccine prior to COVID-19 infection (RR = 0.82; CI95% [0.70 - 0.96]). CONCLUSION Our study allowed to estimate the incidence and identify risk factors of PCS. Recognizing these factors could help to better understand the underlying mechanisms and guide interventions for prevention and management of this condition.

Abstract
AIM To determine the prevalence and risk factors for depression, sleep disturbances, and exhaustion in MAFLD patients. METHODS Two hundred twenty-four consecutive patients with MAFLD attending the outpatient clinic from April to October 2023; were subjected to clinical evaluation, laboratory testing including non-invasive laboratory markers, fibroscan (measuring steatosis and fibrosis), and different quantitative and qualitative fatigue scores. A control group including 342 patients without MAFLD was taken. RESULTS The prevalence of fatigue, depression, and sleeping disorders in the MAFLD group was 67.8%, 75%, 62.5% vs 21%, 16.4%, and 19.5% in the control group respectively ( P = <0.001, P = <0.001 and P = <0.001). MAFLD with fatigue was significantly associated with the presence and severity of steatosis and fibrosis by fibroscan ( P = <0.0001). By univariate and multivariate analysis: age, BMI, waist circumference, T2DM, hypertension, steatosis, fibrosis, and Fib-4 were considered risk factors for fatigue in the MAFLD group. The age, high social level, diabetes, hypertension, steatosis, fibrosis, and fib-4 were considered, by univariate and multivariate analysis, independent risk factors for depression in the MAFLD group. age, BMI, waist circumference, diabetes, hypertension, steatosis, fibrosis, and fib-4 were independent risk factors for sleep disorders in MAFLD. CONCLUSION Fatigue, sleeping disorders, and depression are more prevalent in MAFLD patients than in the general population. The lower health utility scores in patients with MAFLD are associated with more advanced stages of the disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND People with progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS) present motor (eg, walking) and cognitive impairments, and report fatigue. Fatigue encompasses fatigability which is objectively measured by the capacity to sustain a motor or cognitive task. OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of walking and cognitive fatigability (CF) and the associated clinical characteristics in a large sample of PMS patients. METHODS PMS patients (25-65 years old) were included from 11 sites (Europe and North America), having cognitive impairment (1.28 standard deviation below normative data for the symbol digit modality test [SDMT]). Walking fatigability (WF) was assessed using the distance walk index (DWI) and CF using the SDMT (scores from the last 30 seconds compared to the first 30 seconds). Additional measures were: cognitive assessment-Brief International Cognitive Assessment for multiple sclerosis (MS), cardiorespiratory fitness, 6-minute walk, physical activity, depressive symptoms, perceived fatigue-Modified Fatigue Impact Scale (MFIS), MS impact-MSIS-29, and walking ability. RESULTS Of 298 participants, 153 (51%) presented WF (DWI = -28.9 ± 22.1%) and 196 (66%) presented CF (-29.7 ± 15%). Clinical characteristics (EDSS, disease duration, and use of assistive device) were worse in patients with versus without WF. They also presented worse scores on MSIS-29 physical, MFIS total and physical and reduced physical capacity. CF patients scored better in the MSIS-29 physical and MFIS psychosocial, compared to non-CF group. Magnitude of CF and WF were not related. CONCLUSIONS Half of the cognitively-impaired PMS population presented WF which was associated with higher disability, physical functions, and fatigue. There was a high prevalence of CF but without strong associations with clinical, cognitive, and physical functions. Abstract
BACKGROUND Fatigue is a prevalent and debilitating symptom in neurological disorders, including spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). However, the risk factors of fatigue in the SCAs as well as its impact have not been well investigated. OBJECTIVES To study the prevalence of fatigue in SCAs, the factors contributing to fatigue, and the influence of fatigue on quality of life. METHODS Fatigue was assessed in 418 participants with SCA1, SCA2, SCA3, and SCA6 from the Clinical Research Consortium for the Study of Cerebellar Ataxia using the Fatigue Severity Scale. We conducted multi-variable linear regression models to examine the factors contributing to fatigue as well as the association between fatigue and quality of life. RESULTS Fatigue was most prevalent in SCA3 (52.6%), followed by SCA1 (36.7%), SCA6 (35.7%), and SCA2 (35.6%). SCA cases with fatigue had more severe ataxia and worse depressive symptoms. In SCA3, those with fatigue had a longer disease duration and longer pathological CAG repeat numbers. In multi-variable models, depressive symptoms, but not ataxia severity, were associated with more severe fatigue. Fatigue, independent of ataxia and depression, contributed to worse quality of life in SCA3 and SCA6 at baseline, and fatigue continued affecting quality of life throughout the disease course in all types of SCA. CONCLUSIONS Fatigue is a common symptom in SCAs and is closely related to depression. Fatigue significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Therefore, screening for fatigue should be considered a part of standard clinical care for SCAs.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate how commonly adolescent psychiatric outpatients with symptoms of depression and anxiety report having been subjected to sexual harassment, and to explore how symptoms and functional abilities differ between adolescent psychiatric outpatients with symptoms of depression and anxiety who do report and those who do not report having been subjected to sexual harassment. METHODS Swedish adolescent psychiatric outpatients with symptoms of depression or anxiety (n = 324; 66 boys and 258 girls, aged 12-19 years, M = 15.6, SD = 1.7) answered the PROMIS paediatric measures. Logistic regression analyses were performed to assess differences between the respondents classified as 'Sexually harassed' and 'Not sexually harassed' based on these self-report questionnaires. RESULTS About 60% of the adolescents reported having been subjected to sexual harassment, and reported higher levels of suicidal ideation, disturbed sleep, fatigue, anxiety, depression, anger, and pain interference, as well as lower functional ability in terms of school problems, alcohol consumption, and poor family relationships. Logistic regression analyses showed that the strongest associations were with suicidal ideation, disturbed sleep, anger, and alcohol consumption. CONCLUSIONS About 60% of the adolescents in the studied psychiatric cohort reported having been subjected to sexual harassment. Reported experiences were high in all three subtypes, with the most reports on having been subjected to verbal harassment. Clinicians should ask about experiences of sexual harassment and give information about the consequences of sexual violence and treatment options. Alcohol consumption should be addressed and tested for. Structured assessment of suicidality should always be done.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Fatigue is a common comorbidity in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), often reported also by those in clinical remission or with moderate disease activity. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of fatigue in patients with axSPA, and to investigate possible non-disease-related determinants, with a special focus on depression. METHODS Patients with axSpA were assessed using the Chalder's Fatigue Questionnaire (CFQ) for fatigue, and the depression subscale of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-D) for depression. Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score (ASDAS), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI) and Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) were also used to assess disease activities and disability. Univariate and multivariate linear regressions were performed to identify possible predictors of fatigue. RESULTS Out of 119 patients, 53 (44.5%) had fatigue. Patients with fatigue had higher HADS-D, ASDAS, BASFI, HAQ scores. HADS-D was predictive of CFQ score in univariate and multivariate regressions for total CFQ, and for mental and physical subscales. The correlation between HADS-D and CFQ total score was statistically significant also when taking into consideration only patients in clinical remission and with moderate disease activity. Depressed patients had higher CFQ score compared to non-depressed ones, and did not show any difference in CFQ scores when stratified for disease activity or systemic inflammation. CONCLUSIONS The study found correlation between fatigue and disease activity and depression in patients with axSpA. These findings suggest that depression could represent the major determinant of fatigue in patients with axSpA, independently of clinical activity.

Abstract
Sleep symptoms, including excessive sleepiness, are frequently reported by patients with functional motor disorders (FMD). We aimed to classify the comorbid sleep disorders in FMD, and to investigate the relationship between subjective sleepiness and objective measures of hypersomnia, comparing them with data from people with central hypersomnia. A total of 37 patients (mean [SD] age 46.4 [11.2] years) with clinically definite FMD, and 17 patients (mean [SD] age 41.1 [11.6] years) with central hypersomnia underwent structured medical and sleep history, neurological examination, polysomnography, multiple sleep latency test (MSLT), and questionnaires assessing sleepiness, fatigue, and depression. In all, 23 patients with FMD (62%) reported excessive daytime sleepiness. Evidence of specific sleep disorders was identified in our cohort, with 35% having restless legs syndrome; 49% obstructive sleep apnea; and 8% periodic limb movements in sleep; however, the presence of these disorders was not correlated with subjective sleepiness. Patients with FMD with self-reported sleepiness reported higher fatigue (p = 0.002), depression (p = 0.002), and had longer sleep latencies in the MSLT (p < 0.001) compared to the patients with central hypersomnia. No correlation was found between subjective and objective sleepiness in either group. Fatigue positively correlated with self-reported sleepiness in patients with FMD (p < 0.001). This study did not find objective correlates of increased sleepiness in patients with FMD. While sleep abnormalities were found to be common in FMD, they were not correlated with self-reports of excessive sleepiness. Positive correlations between self-reported sleepiness and fatigue support the current unified model of non-motor symptoms in FMD.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Fatigue is prevalent in people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and has been associated with IBD activity, sleep quality, depression, and anxiety. This study aimed to identify fatigue profiles or clusters through latent profile analysis. METHODS An online questionnaire was administered through three tertiary IBD centres, social media and through Crohn's Colitis Australia. Fatigue was assessed via the Functional assessment of chronic illness measurement system fatigue subscale (FACIT-F), a validated assessment of fatigue and its severity. Validated measures of anxiety, depression, IBD activity and sleep quality were also included. Latent profile analysis was performed including fatigue, sleep quality, active IBD, and depression and anxiety. The relationships between profiles and IBD and demographic data were investigated. RESULTS In a cohort of 535 respondents, 77% were female, the median age was 41 years (range 32-52 years), and the majority had Crohn's disease (62%). Severe fatigue was seen in 62%. Latent profile analysis identified four distinct profiles differing by fatigue score - low fatigue, at-risk profile, active IBD, and a poor mental health profile. Female gender, obesity and opioid usage were associated with higher risk of being in the active IBD and poor mental health profile. Age over 40 was associated with lower risk of being in the poor mental health profile. CONCLUSION Latent profile analysis identifies four classes of fatigue in an IBD cohort with associations with specific risk factors for fatigue along with specific IBD and demographic attributes. This has implications for the classification of fatigue in IBD and treatment algorithms.

Abstract
Inborn errors of immunity have been associated with reduced health-related quality of life and increased fatigue. Sleep disorders, which have been shown to contribute to fatigue and other health concerns, are prevalent in the general population, but there are limited studies evaluating these conditions in patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Our aim was to evaluate the prevalence of fatigue, sleep disturbances, and sleep-disordered breathing in adults with CVID. Patients completed 4 validated, self-administered questionnaires and a 1-night disposable home sleep apnea test. Our results demonstrated increased median Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System fatigue scores of 58.7 in patients with CVID in addition to clinically significant fatigue as measured by Fatigue Severity Scale score (median, 5.2) and overall poor sleep quality based on global Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score (median, 9.0). For CVID patients who completed the home sleep apnea test, 76.9% met criteria for sleep-disordered breathing with an Apnea-Hypopnea Index score of 5 or greater. The results of our study indicate that patients with CVID may have increased rates of undiagnosed sleep disorders that may contribute to increased fatigue and reduced health-related quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Physical fatigue is one of the most disabling symptoms in people with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS). Several factors might influence the development of fatigue, such as gender, education, body mass index (BMI), Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), disease duration, working status (Ws), physiotherapy (Ph), and disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). Fatigue Symptoms and Impacts Questionnaire-Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (FSIQ-RMS) is a patient-reported outcome (PRO) that allows one to define the impact of fatigue in PwMS clearly. This study aimed to assess fatigue impact on PwMS by using FSIQ-RMS. METHODS The participants were enrolled from May to July 2021 in MS Centers of Sant'Andrea Hospital and Policlinico Umberto I Hospital in Rome. Fatigue was evaluated using the FSIQ-RMS, validated, and culturally adapted in Italian. Clinical and demographic data were collected at the same time. RESULTS We enrolled 178 PwMS [Female 74.16%; RMS 82.58%, SPMS 17.52%]. FSIQ-RMS scores were significantly correlated with EDSS (p-value < 0.01). Analysis of variance between means showed a statistically significant difference between the BMI groups at the 24hours_FSIQ-RMS score and the 7days_FSIQ-RMS score (p < 0.01), with the lower BMI group having the highest scores. Furthermore, perceived fatigue significantly improved both in subjects performing Ph (p < 0.05) and in those who actively work (p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS The use of FSIQ-RMS in a real-world setting confirmed that underweight and high levels of disability are closely related to fatigue. In addition, Ph and active Ws are strongly correlated with fatigue in PwMS.

Abstract
PURPOSE We aimed to describe the psychosocial adjustments according to return to work (RTW) trajectories in breast cancer survivors (BCS) using a sequential and temporal approach. METHODS We used BCS data included from February 2015 to April 2016 in the Longitudinal Study on Behavioural, Economic and Sociological Changes after Cancer (ELCCA) cohort. RTW trajectories were identified using the sequence analysis method followed by a clustering. Anxiety and depression were assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and the EORTC quality of life questionnaire was used at inclusion and all follow-up visits to assess Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL). RESULTS Fifty-two BCS were included in the study among whom four clusters of RTW trajectories were identified and labeled: slow RTW (N = 10), quick RTW (N = 27), partial RTW (N = 8), and part-time work (N = 7). Quick and slow RTW clusters showed slightly lower baseline mean levels of anxiety and higher levels of HRQoL. In the 4 years following diagnosis, BCS in the quick RTW cluster tended to report higher HRQoL in terms of functioning and less symptoms of pain and fatigue while those in the partial RTW cluster showed a lower HRQoL on almost all dimensions. All clusters showed an increase in pain and fatigue symptoms until 6 months followed by a tendency to recover baseline levels. CONCLUSIONS The results of this study suggest that BCS who return to full-time work (slow and quick RTW patterns) recover better than patients who return to part-time work (partial and part-time RTW patterns).

Abstract
PURPOSE Research on symptom clusters in oncology is progressing, but knowledge gaps remain. One question is whether the number and types of symptom subgroups (i.e., latent classes) differ based on cancer diagnosis. The purpose of this study was to: (1) identify and compare latent class subgroups based on four highly prevalent symptoms (pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and depression), and (2) examine the differences in sociodemographic and clinical factors in the identified latent classes across the seven cancer types (i.e., prostate, non-small cell lung, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, breast, uterine, cervical, and colorectal cancer). METHODS This study is a cross-sectional secondary analysis of data obtained from the My-Health study in partnership with four Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cancer registries located in California (two), Louisiana, and New Jersey. The sample included 4,762 cancer survivors 6-13 months following diagnosis of one of the seven cancer types mentioned. Latent class profile analysis was used. RESULTS Subjects were primarily young (59% age 21-64 years), Caucasian (41%), married/cohabitating (58%) and unemployed (55%). The number and types of symptom subgroups varied across these seven cancer populations: four-subgroups were the common in prostate, lung, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and breast cancer survivors. Unmarried, low education, and unemployment status were associated with high risk of symptom burden across the cancer types. CONCLUSION Identifying symptom subgroups by cancer diagnosis has the potential to develop innovative and effective targeted interventions in cancer survivors. Further research is needed to establish extensive knowledge in symptom clustering between treatment regimens, and short-term and long-term cancer survivors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This survey aims to comprehensively understand occupational burnout among pre-hospital emergency medical personnel and explore associated risk factors. METHODS A cross-sectional online survey using a census method was conducted between 15 July, 2023, and ends on 14 August, 2023, in Chengdu, SiChuan province, China. The questionnaire included general demographic information, the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) with 15 items, and the Fatigue Scale-14 (FS-14) with 14 items. Univariate analysis was conducted on all variables, followed by multivariate logistic regression models to examine the associations between occupational burnout and the risk factors. RESULTS A total of 2,299 participants,99.57% completed the survey effectively The participants were from 166 medical institutions in Chengdu, comprising 1,420 nurses (61.50%) and 889 clinical doctors (38.50%). A total of 33.36% participants experienced burnout, predominantly mild (30.27%), followed by moderate (2.78%) and severe (0.3%). Physicians, higher fatigue scores, age, work experience appeared to be related to burnout. Logistic regression models revealed that individuals aged over 50 were less prone to experience burnout compared to medical staff aged 18-30 (OR: 0.269, 95% CI: 0.115-0.627, p = 0.002). Physicians were more prone to experience burnout compared to nursing staff (OR: 0.690, 95% CI: 0.531-0.898, p = 0.006). Those with 0-5 years of experience were more prone to experience burnout compared to those with 6-10 years or over 15 years of experience (OR: 0.734, 95% CI: 0.547-0.986, p = 0.040; OR: 0.559, 95% CI: 0.339-0.924, p = 0.023). Additionally, for each 1-point increase in the fatigue score, the likelihood of burnout in medical staff increased by 1.367 times (OR: 1.367, 95% CI: 1.323-1.412, p < 0.0001). CONCLUSION Pre-hospital emergency medical personnel demonstrate a notable prevalence of mild job burnout. These results provide a groundwork for future focus on the various stages of job burnout within pre-hospital emergency staff, alerting hospital and departmental managers to promptly address the mental well-being of their personnel and intervene as needed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is often preceded by symptomatic phases during which classification criteria are not fulfilled. The health burden of these "at-risk" stages is not well described. This study assessed health-related quality of life (HRQoL), function, fatigue and depression in newly presenting patients with clinically suspect arthralgia (CSA), unclassified arthritis (UA) or RA. METHODS Cross-sectional analysis of baseline Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) was conducted in patients from the Birmingham Early Arthritis Cohort. HRQoL, function, depression and fatigue at presentation were assessed using EQ-5D, HAQ-DI, PHQ-9 and FACIT-F. PROMs were compared across CSA, UA and RA and with population averages from the HSE with descriptive statistics. Multivariate linear regression assessed associations between PROMs and clinical and sociodemographic variables. RESULTS Of 838 patients included in the analysis, 484 had RA, 200 had CSA and 154 had UA. Patients with RA reported worse outcomes for all PROMs than those with CSA or UA. However, "mean EQ-5D utilities were 0.65 (95%CI: 0.61 to 0.69) in CSA, 0.61 (0.56 to 0.66) in UA and 0.47 (0.44 to 0.50) in RA, which was lower than in general and older (≥ 65 years) background populations." In patients with CSA or UA, HRQoL was comparable to chronic conditions such as heart failure, severe COPD or mild angina. Higher BMI and older age (≥ 60 years) predicted worse depression (PHQ-9: -2.47 (-3.85 to -1.09), P < 0.001) and fatigue (FACIT-F: 5.05 (2.37 to 7.73), P < 0.001). Women were more likely to report worse function (HAQ-DI: 0.13 (0.03 to 0.21), P = 0.01) and fatigue (FACIT-F: -3.64 (-5.59 to -1.70), P < 0.001), and residents of more deprived areas experienced decreased function (HAQ-DI: 0.23 (0.10 to 0.36), P = 0.001), greater depression (PHQ-9: 1.89 (0.59 to 3.18), P = 0.004) and fatigue (FACIT-F: -2.60 (-5.11 to 0.09), P = 0.04). After adjustments for confounding factors, diagnostic category was not associated with PROMs, but disease activity and polypharmacy were associated with poorer performance across all PROMs. CONCLUSIONS Patient-reported outcomes were associated with disease activity and sociodemographic characteristics. Patients presenting with RA reported a higher health burden than those with CSA or UA, however HRQoL in the pre-RA groups was significantly lower than population averages.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) has been considered the biggest influencing factor for cancer patients after surgery. This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram for severe cancer-related fatigue (CRF) patients with cervical cancer (CC). METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted to develop and validate a nomogram (building set = 196; validation set = 88) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of a Class III hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. We adopted the questionnaire method, including the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS), Medical Uncertainty in Illness Scale (MUIS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Sense of Coherence-13 (SOC-13). Binary logistic regression was used to test the risk factors of CRF. The R4.1.2 software was used to develop and validate the nomogram, including Bootstrap resampling method, the ability of Area Under Curve (AUC), Concordance Index (C-Index), Hosmer Lemeshow goodness of fit test, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve, Calibration calibration curve, and Decision Curve Analysis curve (DCA). RESULTS The regression equation was Logit(P) = 1.276-0.947 Monthly income + 0.989 Long-term passive smoking - 0.952 Physical exercise + 1.512 Diagnosis type + 1.040 Coping style - 0.726 Perceived Social Support - 2.350 Sense of Coherence. The C-Index of the nomogram was 0.921 (95% CI: 0.877∼0.958). The ROC curve showed the sensitivity of the nomogram was 0.821, the specificity was 0.900, and the accuracy was 0.857. AUC was 0.916 (95% CI: 0.876∼0.957). The calibration showed that the predicted probability of the nomogram fitted well with the actual probability. The DCA curve showed when the prediction probability was greater than about 10%, the benefit of the nomogram was positive. The results in the validation group were similar. CONCLUSION This nomogram had good identifiability, accuracy and clinical practicality, and could be used as a prediction and evaluation tool for severe cases of clinical patients with CC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic neuropsychological sequelae following SARS-CoV-2 infection, including depression, anxiety, fatigue, and general cognitive difficulties, are a major public health concern. Given the potential impact of long-term neuropsychological impairment, it is important to characterize the frequency and predictors of this post-infection phenotype. METHODS The Epidemiology, Immunology, and Clinical Characteristics of Emerging Infectious Diseases with Pandemic Potential (EPICC) study is a longitudinal study assessing the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection in U.S. Military Healthcare System (MHS) beneficiaries, i.e. those eligible for care in the MHS including active duty servicemembers, dependents, and retirees. Four broad areas of neuropsychological symptoms were assessed cross-sectionally among subjects 1-6 months post-infection/enrollment, including: depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9), anxiety (General Anxiety Disorder-7), fatigue (PROMIS® Fatigue 7a), and cognitive function (PROMIS® Cognitive Function 8a and PROMIS® Cognitive Function abilities 8a). Multivariable Poisson regression models compared participants with and without SARS-CoV-2 infection history on these measures, adjusting for sex, ethnicity, active-duty status, age, and months post-first positive or enrollment of questionnaire completion (MPFP/E); models for fatigue and cognitive function were also adjusted for depression and anxiety scores. RESULTS The study population included 2383 participants who completed all five instruments within six MPFP/E, of whom 687 (28.8%) had at least one positive SARS-CoV-2 test. Compared to those who had never tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the positive group was more likely to meet instrument-based criteria for depression (15.4% vs 10.3%, p<0.001), fatigue (20.1% vs 8.0%, p<0.001), impaired cognitive function (15.7% vs 8.6%, p<0.001), and impaired cognitive function abilities (24.3% vs 16.3%, p<0.001). In multivariable models, SARS-CoV-2 positive participants, assessed at an average of 2.7 months after infection, had increased risk of moderate to severe depression (RR: 1.44, 95% CI 1.12-1.84), fatigue (RR: 2.07, 95% CI 1.62-2.65), impaired cognitive function (RR: 1.64, 95% CI 1.27-2.11), and impaired cognitive function abilities (RR: 1.41, 95% CI 1.15-1.71); MPFP/E was not significant. CONCLUSIONS Participants with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection were up to twice as likely to report cognitive impairment and fatigue as the group without prior SARS-CoV-2 infection. These findings underscore the continued importance of preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection and while time since infection/enrollment was not significant through 6 months of follow-up, this highlights the need for additional research into the long-term impacts of COVID-19 to mitigate and reverse these neuropsychological outcomes.

Abstract
The high prevalence of stress-related disorders and depression underscores the urgent need to unravel their impact on individual well-being. This study aim to investigate common psychiatric and stress-related diagnoses, along with postviral fatigue, in individuals with prior stress-induced exhaustion disorder (SED) and prior depression compared to those without prior SED or depression, and to study whether the psychiatric comorbidity patterns differ. The study includes individuals in Region Stockholm who, in 2011, did not have a diagnosis of SED or depression. ICD-10 diagnosis of SED, depression, or both, recorded in 2012-2013, were compared to individuals without prior SED or depression in a cohort (n = 1,362,886), aged 18 to 65. Odds ratios (OR) with 99 % confidence intervals, adjusted for age and neighborhood socioeconomic status, were calculated for psychiatric disorders and post-viral fatigue in 2014-2022. Patients with prior SED showed associations primarily with stress related diagnoses, including acute stress reaction, reaction to severe stress, as well as post-COVID-19 and post-viral fatigue syndrome. These ORs were all larger for SED than depression. Depression was primarily associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol related and substance use disorders, schizophrenia, schizotypal disorders, delusional disorders, manic episode, bipolar affective disorder, persistent mood disorder, neurotic disorder, borderline personality disorder, autistic disorder, Asperger's syndrome, attention -deficit hyperactivity disorder, attention-deficit disorders ADHD/ADD), and suicide attempt. These ORs were all higher for depression, although autistic disorders, ADHD/ADD and PTSD were also highly associated with prior SED (OR > 3.5). The divergent psychiatric comorbidity patterns suggest different underlying mechanisms and clinical prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long-term information on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and mental health of non-hospitalized individuals with "post COVID-19 syndrome" (PCS) is scarce. Thus, the objectives of the present study were to compare HRQOL and mental health of individuals with and without PCS in a German sample of non-hospitalized persons after SARS-CoV-2 infection, to characterize the long-term course up to 2 years and to identify predictors for post COVID-19 impairments. METHODS Individuals with past SARS-CoV-2 infection were examined at the University Hospital of Augsburg from November 2020 to May 2021 and completed a postal questionnaire between June and November 2022. Participants who self-reported the presence of fatigue, dyspnea on exertion, memory problems or concentration problems were classified as having PCS. HRQOL was assessed using the Veterans RAND 12-Item Health Survey, mental health was measured by the Patient Health Questionnaire and the Fatigue Asessment Scale was used to assess fatigue severity. Multivariable linear regression models with inverse probability weighting were used to determine the association between PCS and health outcomes. RESULTS From the 304 participants (58.2% women, median age 52 years), 210 (69.1%) were classified as having PCS in median 26 months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Persons with PCS showed significantly more often depressive and anxiety disorders. PCS was independently and significantly associated with higher levels of depression, post-traumatic stress and fatigue, as well as poorer physical and mental HRQOL in median 9 months as well as 26 months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. A large number of acute symptoms and a prior diagnosis of depression were independently associated with poor mental health and HRQOL. While post-traumatic stress and mental HRQOL improved from 9 months to 26 months post infection onset, depressiveness, fatigue and physical HRQOL remained stable in both, persons with and without PCS. CONCLUSIONS PCS in non-hospitalized persons after SARS-CoV-2 infection is often associated with long-term impairments of mental health and HRQOL outcomes.

Abstract
Although the association between self-regulation of fatigue and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) has been confirmed, the potential mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the role of health literacy, health behavior, and exercise frequency in the relationship among middle-aged and elderly patients with recurrent stroke. A cross-sectional survey was conducted. A total of 176 patients completed the survey, in which self-regulation of fatigue, HRQoL, health literacy and health behavior were measured by questionnaires. Based on Bootstrap analyses, a moderating sequential mediation model using PROCESS software was constructed with health literacy and health behavior as mediators and exercise frequency as the moderator. Of the participants, the mean age was 65.44 ± 12.43 years. Self-regulation of fatigue was found to affect HRQoL indirectly through two significant mediation pathways: (1) health literacy (β=-0.11, 95%CI = -0.20, -0.03), which accounted for 28.79% of the total effect, and (2) health literacy and health behavior (β=-0.02, 95%CI = -0.05, -0.00), which accounted for 4.80% of the total effect. Exercise frequency moderated the relationship between self-regulating fatigue and HRQoL. Specifically, the interaction term between self-regulating fatigue and exercise frequency significantly predicted HRQoL (β = 0. 25, t = 2.55, p < 0.05). These findings highlight the role of health literacy and health behavior as sequential mediators of the relationship between self-regulating fatigue and HRQoL. Moreover, exercise frequency moderated the relationship between self-regulating fatigue and HRQoL. Encouraging patients with recurrent stroke to increase exercise frequency appropriately might improve HRQoL for patients with poor health literacy and health behavior.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Relationships between stressful life events (SLEs) and health outcomes in people living with multiple sclerosis (plwMS), beyond relapse, are not well-established. We examined associations between SLEs and fatigue and symptoms of depression in plwMS. METHODS 948 participants were queried whether they had experienced any of the 16 SLEs (Holmes-Rahe Social Readjustment Rating Scale) in the preceding 12 months. SLEs were summated to estimate SLE number and SLE load (weighted for the degree of associated stress). Cross-sectional associations between SLE (number, load and individual) and fatigue, and depressive symptoms were examined using log-binomial or log-multinomial regression adjusted for age, sex, relapse symptoms, education, MS type at baseline, disability, fatigue, comorbidity, depression, and antidepressant/antifatigue medications, as appropriate. Sub-analyses restricted to SLEs with a negative emotional impact were performed. RESULTS Median SLE number and load were 2 (IQR 1-2) and 57 (IQR 28-97), respectively. SLE number and load were not associated with a higher prevalence of fatigue, or depressive symptoms, even when restricting analyses to SLEs with a perceived negative emotional impact. A new relationship or family member with a negative impact was associated with a threefold and 2.5-fold higher prevalence of depressive symptoms, respectively. Serious illness was associated with a 28% higher prevalence of depressive symptoms. CONCLUSION Psychological support for SLEs, and/or intervention targeted to SLE appraisal, may be beneficial in mitigating the adverse effects of SLEs with a perceived negative emotional impact on depressive symptoms in plwMS. Potential associations between serious illness and increased prevalence of depressive symptoms may warrant further investigation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multiple prolonged symptoms are observed in patients who recover from an acute COVID-19 infection, which is defined as long COVID. General fatigue is frequently observed in patients with long COVID during acute and post-acute phases. This study aimed to identify the specific risk factors for general fatigue in long COVID. METHODS Hospitalized patients with COVID-19 aged over 18 years were enrolled in a multicenter cohort study at 26 medical institutions. Clinical data during hospitalization and patient-reported outcomes after discharge were collected from medical records, paper-based questionnaires, and smartphone apps. RESULTS Among prolonged symptoms through 1-year follow-ups, general fatigue was the most interfering symptom in daily life. Patients with protracted fatigue at all follow-up periods had lower quality of life scores at the 12-month follow-up. Univariate logistic regression analysis of the presence or absence of general fatigue at the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month follow-ups identified asthma, younger age, and female sex as risk factors for prolonged fatigue. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that asthma was an independent risk factor for persistent fatigue during the 12-month follow-up period. Longitudinal changes in the symptoms of patients with or without asthma demonstrated that general fatigue, not cough and dyspnea, was significantly prolonged in patients with asthma. CONCLUSIONS In a Japanese population with long COVID, prolonged general fatigue was closely linked to asthma. A preventive approach against COVID-19 is necessary to avoid sustained fatigue and minimize social and economic losses in patients with asthma.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Due to aging, older adults with cancer (OAC) may be confronted with a complex interplay of multiple age-related issues; coupled with receiving cancer treatment, OAC may experience multiple concurrent symptoms that require the identification of the core symptom for effective management. Constructing symptom networks will help in the identification of core symptoms and help achieve personalized and precise interventions. Currently, few studies have used symptom networks to identify core symptoms in OAC. Our objectives were to construct symptom networks of OAC, explore the core symptoms, and compare the differences in symptom networks among various subgroups. MATERIALS AND METHODS Secondary analysis was performed using data from 485 OAC collected in 2021 from a cross-sectional survey named the Shanghai CANcer Survivor (SCANS) Report. The MD Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI) was used to assess the incidence and severity of cancer-related symptoms. We used the R package to construct symptom networks and identify the centrality indices. The network comparison test was used to compare network differences among the subgroups. RESULTS The most common and severe symptoms reported were fatigue, disturbed sleep, and difficulty remembering. The network density was 0.718. Vomiting (rs = 1.81, rb = 2.13), fatigue (rs = 1.54, rb = 1.93), and sadness (rs = 0.81, rb = 0.69) showed the highest strength values, which suggested that these symptoms were more likely to co-occur with other symptoms. The network comparison tests showed significant differences in symptom network density between the subgroups categorized as survival "< 5 years" and survival "≥ 5 years" (p = 0.002), as well as between the those with comorbidities and those without comorbidities (p = 0.037). DISCUSSION Our study identified symptom networks in 485 OAC. Vomiting, fatigue, and sadness were important symptoms in the symptom networks of OAC. The symptom networks differed among populations with different survival durations and comorbidities. Our network analysis provides a reference for future targeted symptom management and interventions in OAC. In the future, conducting dynamic research on symptom networks will be crucial to explore interaction mechanisms and change trends between symptoms.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Numerous studies have reported the efficacy of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for treating breast cancer. However, during cytotoxic drug treatment, long-term disabling fatigue is common. Moreover, studies in the relevant literature have indicated that fatigue can significantly increase the incidence of depression and sleep disorders. Therefore, this meta-analysis aims to evaluate the incidence of fatigue in breast cancer survivors treated with ADCs. METHODS PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched for articles and conference abstracts published before March 16, 2023. Further, two authors independently extracted data from the included studies. The primary outcome of this study was the incidence of all-grade fatigue caused by the use of ADCs in patients with breast cancer. Finally, a random-effects model was used to calculate the incidence and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of the outcome. RESULTS Overall, 7963 patients from 31 studies were included in this meta-analysis to assess the incidence of fatigue caused by the use of approved and marketed ADCs in patients with breast cancer. Notably, the incidence of all-grade fatigue during ADC monotherapy was 39.84% (95% CI, 35.09%-44.69%). In subgroup analyses, among ADCs, the incidence of trastuzumab deruxtecan-induced fatigue was the highest, with an all-grade fatigue incidence of 47.05% (95% CI, 42.38%-51.75%). Meanwhile, the incidence of trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1)-induced all-grade fatigue was 35.17% (95% CI, 28.87%-41.74%), which was the lowest among ADCs. Further, the incidence of all-grade fatigue due to sacituzumab govitecan was 42.82% (95% CI, 34.54%-51.32%), which was higher than that due to T-DM1. Moreover, the incidence of fatigue was higher with T-DM1 combination therapy than with monotherapy. CONCLUSIONS Clinicians have highlighted the high incidence of ADC-related fatigue and its negative impact on patients' physical and mental health, making fatigue an important research variable. The results of this study will further contribute to a comprehensive understanding of ADCs, which have some clinical importance and are of great benefit to patients with breast cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To provide an update on risk factors associated with falls and injurious falls among people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) in the United States. DESIGN Nationwide cross-sectional web-based survey. SETTING Community setting. PARTICIPANTS Adult PwMS (n=965). INTERVENTIONS Not applicable. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Participants completed self-report surveys of demographics, clinical data, concerns about falling, occurrence of falls, factors associated with falls, and injurious falls in the past 6 months. Participants also completed Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) measures of depression, pain interference, and physical function, and the Fatigue Severity Scale. RESULTS The most common self-reported factors associated with falls included personal factors such as poor balance (75%), muscle weakness (54%), and/or fatigue (35%), environmental factors such as general surface conditions (37%) and/or distraction (15%), and activities-related factors such as urgency to complete a task (35%) and/or multitasking (27%). Logistic regression analyses indicated that higher fatigue severity (OR=1.19, P<.01) and higher pain interference (OR=1.02, P<.01) were associated with higher odds of experiencing at least 1 fall. Any level of concern, even minimal concern about falling was also significantly associated with a higher odd of experiencing at least 1 fall (ORs range 2.78 - 3.95, all P<.01). Fair to very high concerns about falling compared with no concern about falling (ORs range=5.17 - 10.26, all P<.05) was significantly associated with higher odds of sustaining an injurious fall. CONCLUSIONS Findings suggest falls prevention approaches in PwMS should be multifactorial and include personal, environmental, and activities-related factors. Particular attention on fatigue, pain, and concern about falling may be needed to reduce incidence of falls and injurious falls in this population.

Abstract
Interest in post-traumatic growth (PTG) as a predictor of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is currently gaining attention. However, current evidence is still inconclusive on the nature of this relationship. The first objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between PTG and global HRQoL among cancer survivors. We further investigated the moderating role of fatigue in the association between PTG and global HRQoL. In the FiX study (Fatigue in Germany - Examination of prevalence, severity, and state of screening and treatment) cancer-related fatigue (EORTC QLQ-FA12), PTG inventory and global HRQoL (EORTC QLQ-C30) were assessed four years after cancer diagnosis in 1316 cancer-free survivors (mean age = 67.28, SD = 11.05, 51.4% female). Multiple linear regression analysis and moderation analysis were performed. The results showed that PTG had a convex quadratic relationship with global HRQoL (p < 0.001). Contrary to our hypothesis, fatigue did not moderate the relationship between PTG (linear and quadratic terms) and global HRQoL, neither when considering the overall PTG score nor for any PTG subdimension. In conclusion, PTG has a convex quadratic relationship with long-term global HRQoL that was not modified by persisting fatigue. Future statistical models investigating PTG and global HRQoL should take this non-linear relationship into account. Aiming to increase PTG might contribute to, but is likely not sufficient for high levels of global HRQoL in cancer survivors in the long run.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Social participation is an important aspect associated with health-related outcomes in chronic diseases. However, little is known about the factors that may affect participation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We aimed to examine whether pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and illness perception are associated with social participation in patients with RA when controlled for clinical and sociodemographic variables. We also analysed the mediating role of illness perception in the association between physical and psychological variables on social participation. METHOD We included 157 RA patients (84.7% females; mean age 56.4 ± 13.9 years) who completed the Participation Scale, Brief Illness Perception Questionaire, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire, 36-item Short Form Health Survey, and the Visual Analogue Scale. Multiple linear regressions and mediation analyses were used to analyze the data. RESULTS In the final regression models, illness perception (β = .42; p ≤ .001) and functional disability (β = .21; p ≤ .05) were associated with social participation. Income (β = -.18; p ≤ .05) lost its significance when physical variables were added to the model, and pain (β = .24; p ≤ .05) and fatigue (β = -.24; p ≤ .05) when psychological distress was added. No significant role of anxiety, depression, disease activity, or age was identified using regression analyses. Illness perception mediated the association of pain, fatigue, anxiety, and depression with social participation, and the indirect effect varied from 65% to 98%. CONCLUSIONS Illness perceptions may significantly diminish the impacts of pain, fatigue, anxiety, and depression on social participation in individual RA patients. Abstract
BACKGROUND Studies indicate a higher level of distress in women than men with cancer, but whether this difference is retained over time is unknown. We studied the frequency and level of distress and fatigue during time according to gender in a cohort of cancer survivors. PATIENTS AND METHODS In this prospective study, cancer survivors were invited to undergo a psychological session immediately before the medical visit. Distress was assessed by the distress thermometer, and fatigue was assessed by the ESAS-r scale. Patients underwent follow-up visits to assess changes over time. RESULTS A total of 305 patients and 568 visits were performed with a median follow-up of 15.8 months. At baseline, females, young age, and breast cancer patients had significantly higher distress. However, there was an increase in distress of 0.29 points every 6 months in males (95% CI, 0.09-0.50) versus no change in females (0.03 points, 95% CI, - 0.09-0.15; p-interaction = 0.01). The different behavior of cancer distress during time according to gender was more evident in subjects aged 68 or older due to increasing physical problems in men (p-interaction = 0.005). There was no change in fatigue with time according to sex. CONCLUSIONS Women, younger age, and breast cancer patients had increased cancer distress at the initial visit. However, women tend to stabilize during follow-up, whereas men tend to worsen their distress, especially because of physical and emotional problems, suggesting different coping capabilities. TRIAL REGISTRATION The study is registered at ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05122052. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Interventions aimed at improving recognition of emotions related to disease experience in male cancer survivors appear necessary.

Abstract
PURPOSE The study aims to describe work status at diagnosis and 8 years post-diagnosis in a nationwide sample of breast cancer survivors (BCSs), and investigate associated and self-reported factors of reduced work status. METHODS Women aged 20-65 years when diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer (BC) in 2011 or 2012 were invited to participate in a questionnaire study in 2019 (n = 2803), of whom 49% (n = 1361) responded. For this sub-study, we included 974 BCSs below the legal retirement age in Norway (< 67 years) at survey and with complete work status data. Reduced work status was defined as being in paid work at BC diagnosis and not working at time of survey. Logistic regression analyses were applied to identify factors associated with reduced work status. RESULTS Of BCSs who were in paid work at diagnosis (n = 845), 63% maintained their work status to 8 years later. Reduced work status was associated with not living with children (OR .44, 95% CI .24-.82), age (OR 1.16, 95% CI 1.11-1.21), chemotherapy (OR 2.83, 95% CI 1.24-6.61), > 2 comorbid conditions (OR 2.27, 95% CI 1.16-4.32), cognitive function (OR .99, 95% CI .98-.99), fatigue (OR 1.02, 95% CI 1.01-1.03), and neuroticism (OR 1.57, 95% CI 1.00-2.46). BC and late effects were reported as reasons for reduced work status and disability. CONCLUSIONS The majority of BCSs who were in paid work at diagnosis were working 8 years later. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Our results suggest a need to focus on fatigue and reduced cognitive function among long-term BCSs, with the ultimate aim of improving work sustainability.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adverse non-motor outcomes are common after acute stroke and likely to substantially affect quality of life, yet few studies have comprehensively assessed their prevalence, patterns, and predictors across multiple health domains. AIMS We aimed to identify the prevalence, patterns, and the factors associated with non-motor outcomes 30 days after stroke. METHODS This prospective observational hospital cohort study-Stroke Investigation in North and Central London (SIGNAL)-identified patients with acute ischemic stroke or intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) admitted to the Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) at University College Hospital (UCH), London, between August 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019. We assessed non-motor outcomes (anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep, participation in social roles and activities, pain, bowel function, and bladder function) at 30-day follow-up using the Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System-Version 29 (PROMIS-29) scale and Barthel Index scale. RESULTS We obtained follow-up data for 605/719 (84.1%) eligible patients (mean age 72.0 years; 48.3% female; 521 with ischemic stroke, 84 with ICH). Anxiety (57.0%), fatigue (52.7%), bladder dysfunction (50.2%), reduced social participation (49.2%), and pain (47.9%) were the commonest adverse non-motor outcomes. The rates of adverse non-motor outcomes in ⩾ 1, ⩾ 2 and ⩾ 3 domains were 89%, 66.3%, and 45.8%, respectively; in adjusted analyses, stroke due to ICH (compared to ischemic stroke) and admission stroke severity were the strongest and most consistent predictors. There were significant correlations between bowel dysfunction and bladder dysfunction (κ = 0.908); reduced social participation and bladder dysfunction (κ = 0.844); and anxiety and fatigue (κ = 0.613). We did not identify correlations for other pairs of non-motor domains. CONCLUSION Adverse non-motor outcomes were very common at 30 days after stroke, affecting nearly 90% of evaluated patients in at least one health domain, about two-thirds in two or more domains, and almost 50% in three or more domains. Stroke due to ICH and admission stroke severity were the strongest and most consistent predictors. Adverse outcomes occurred in pairs of domains, such as with anxiety and fatigue. Our findings emphasize the importance of a multi-domain approach to effectively identify adverse non-motor outcomes after stroke to inform the development of more holistic patient care pathways after stroke.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Older adults with metastatic prostate cancer (mPC) experience high symptom burden associated with treatment. Frailty may exacerbate treatment toxicity. The aim of this study was to explore short-term treatment toxicity in patients with metastatic prostate cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS Older adults with metastatic prostate cancer starting chemotherapy, androgen-receptor-axis targeted therapies, or radium-223 participated in a prospective, multicentre, observational study. Participants self-reported symptoms daily using the Edmonton Symptom Assessment System for one treatment cycle via internet or telephone. The most common moderate-to-severe symptoms (score≥4), their duration, and the proportion of participants who experienced improvements in symptom severity (score<4) after reporting moderate-to-severe symptoms at baseline were determined using descriptive statistics. Once-weekly symptom questionnaires were administered and analyzed using linear mixed effect models. Symptom incidence, duration, and frailty associations were assessed using t-tests and chi-square tests. RESULTS Ninety participants completed the study (mean age=77 years [standard deviation=6.1], 42% frail [Vulnerable Elders Survey≥3]). The most common moderate-to-severe symptoms across cohorts were fatigue (46.8%), insomnia (42.9%), poor wellbeing (41.2%), pain (37.5%), and decreased appetite (37.1%). Poor wellbeing had a higher incidence in frail participants (62.5% in frail vs. 31.4% in non-frail, p=0.039). Symptom duration varied across cohorts and between frail and non-frail participants. Among participants who reported moderate-to-severe symptoms at baseline, no more than 15% improved in any symptom. There were statistically significant improvements in weekly symptoms for fatigue, decreased appetite, and insomnia in the chemotherapy cohort only. DISCUSSION Limitations include a short follow-up duration, lack of a control group, and few radium-223 participants. Regular symptom monitoring can help clinicians understand temporal patterns and durations of symptoms and inform supportive care approaches.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is considered one of the most prevalent and distressing symptoms among cancer patients and may vary among patients with different cancer types. However, few studies have explored the influence of physical and psychological symptoms on CRF among esophageal cancer (EC) patients without esophagectomy. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of physical and psychological symptoms on CRF among EC patients without esophagectomy. METHODS In the present study, a cross-sectional study was conducted from February 2021 to March 2022 in Liaoning Province, China. Among the 112 included participants, 97 completed our investigation. The questionnaires used consisted of the Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI), the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory Gastrointestinal Cancer Module (MDASI-GI), the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), and demographic and clinical information. Multivariate linear regression was conducted to test the relationships between physical and psychological symptoms and CRF. RESULTS Of the 97 EC patients, 60.8% reported CRF (BFI ≥ 4). The mean age of the participants was 64.92 years (SD = 8.67). According to the regression model, all the variables explained 74.5% of the variance in CRF. Regression analysis indicated that physical symptoms, including constipation, diarrhoea, and difficulty swallowing, contributed to CRF. On the other hand, depressive symptoms increased the level of CRF among EC patients without esophagectomy. CONCLUSIONS Given the high prevalence of CRF among EC patients without esophagectomy, it is urgent to emphasize the importance of fatigue management interventions based on physical and psychological symptoms to alleviate CRF in EC patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among Canadian women. Survivorship challenges include fatigue, sleep disturbance, and cognitive impairment. This study examined (1) symptom trajectory from diagnosis to 3 years; (2) whether symptom change in the first 4 months was associated with prolonged difficulties after 3 years; and (3) which factors were associated with deterioration in symptoms during the first 4 months. METHODS This prospective observational cohort study examined 53 women (Mage = 58.6, 96.2% White, 67.9% stage I) with newly diagnosed breast cancer over 3 years. Women completed assessments before starting treatment, 4 months, and 3 years after diagnosis. Three-way repeated-measures ANOVAs evaluated symptom trajectories. A repeated-measures mediation analysis was performed to determine if change from pre-treatment to 4 months accounted for change from pre-treatment to 3 years. A series of between-subjects ANOVAs were used to determine what variables significantly differed by deterioration status. RESULTS Perceived cognitive impairment and fatigue increased linearly from diagnosis to 3 years. Change in fatigue in the first 4 months fully accounted for its change over 3 years. Insomnia severity and sleep quality deteriorated from diagnosis to 4 months, but returned to pre-treatment levels at 3 years. Those whose fatigue and cognitive ability deteriorated during the first 4 months were younger. CONCLUSION Efforts to identify those who are at risk of experiencing fatigue, sleep disturbance, and cognitive impairment; monitor patients early after receiving a diagnosis; and provide targeted interventions may prevent long-term deterioration and improve well-being.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and trajectories of post-COVID-19 neuropsychological symptoms. DESIGN Prospective longitudinal multicentre cohort study. SUBJECTS A total of 205 patients initially hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). METHODS Validated questionnaires were administered at 9 months (T1) and 15 months (T2) post-hospital discharge to assess fatigue, cognitive complaints, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. RESULTS Analyses included 184 out of 205 patients. Approximately 50% experienced high cognitive complaints at T1 and T2, while severe fatigue affected 52.5% at T1 and 55.6% at T2. Clinically relevant insomnia scores were observed in 25% of patients at both time-points. Clinically relevant anxiety scores were present in 18.3% at T1 and 16.7% at T2, depression in 15.0% at T1 and 18.9% at T2, and PTSD in 12.4% at T1 and 11.8% at T2. Most symptoms remained stable, with 59.2% of patients experiencing at least 1 persistent symptom. In addition, 31.5% of patients developed delayed-onset symptoms. CONCLUSION Post-COVID-19 cognitive complaints and fatigue are highly prevalent and often persist. A subgroup develops delayed symptoms. Emotional distress is limited. Screening can help identify most patients experiencing long-term problems. Future research should determine risk factors for persistent and delayed onset symptoms.

Abstract
Background Despite numerous observations of neuropsychological deficits immediately following severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, little is known about what happens to these deficits over time and whether they are affected by changes in fatigue and any psychiatric symptoms. We aimed to assess the prevalence of neuropsychological deficits at 6-9 months and again at 12-15 months after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to explore whether it was associated with changes in fatigue and psychiatric symptoms. Methods We administered a series of neuropsychological tests and psychiatric questionnaires to 95 patients (mean age = 57.12 years, standard deviation (SD) = 10.68; 35.79% women) 222 (time point 1 (T1)) and 441 (time point 2 (T2)) days on average after infection. Patients were categorised according to the severity of their respiratory COVID-19 symptoms in the acute phase: mild (no hospitalisation), moderate (conventional hospitalisation), and severe (hospitalisation in intensive care unit (ICU) plus mechanical ventilation). We ran Monte-Carlo simulation methods at each time point to generate a simulated population and then compared the cumulative percentages of cognitive disorders displayed by the three patient subgroups with the estimated normative data. We calculated generalised estimating equations for the whole sample to assess the longitudinal associations between cumulative neuropsychological deficits, fatigue, and psychiatric data (anxiety, depressive symptoms, posttraumatic stress disorder, and apathy). Results Most participants (>50%) exhibited a decrease in their neuropsychological impairments, while approximately 25% showed an escalation in these cognitive deficits. At T2, patients in the mild subgroup remained free of accumulated neuropsychological impairments. Patients with moderate severity of symptoms displayed a decrease in the magnitude of cumulative deficits in perceptual and attentional functions, a persistence of executive, memory and logical reasoning deficits, and the emergence of language deficits. In patients with severe symptoms, perceptual deficits emerged and executive deficits increased, while attentional and memory deficits remained unchanged. Changes in executive functions were significantly associated with changes in depressive symptoms, but the generalised estimating equations failed to reveal any other significant effect. Conclusion While most cumulative neuropsychological deficits observed at T1 persisted and even worsened over time in the subgroups of patients with moderate and severe symptoms, a significant proportion of patients, mainly in the mild subgroup, exhibited improved performances. However, we identified heterogeneous neuropsychological profiles both cross-sectionally and over time, suggesting that there may be distinct patient phenotypes. Predictors of these detrimental dynamics have yet to be identified.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Fatigue, headache, problems sleeping and numerous other symptoms have been reported to be associated with long COVID. However, many of these symptoms coincide with symptoms reported by the general population, possibly exacerbated by restrictions/precautions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study examines the symptoms reported by individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 compared with those who tested negative. DESIGN Observational study. SETTING The study was conducted on adult residents in Alberta, Canada, from October 2021 to February 2023. PARTICIPANTS We evaluated self-reported symptoms in 7623 adults with positive COVID-19 tests and 1520 adults who tested negative, using surveys adapted from the internationally standardised International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC)-developed COVID-19 long-term follow-up tools. These individuals had an index COVID-19 test date between 1 March 2020 and 31 December 2022 and were over 28 days post-COVID-19 testing. PRIMARY OUTCOME MEASURES The primary outcomes were to identify the symptoms associated with COVID-19 positivity and risk factors for reporting symptoms. RESULTS Fatigue was the top reported symptom (42%) among COVID-19-positive respondents, while headache was the top reported symptom (32%) in respondents who tested negative. Compared with those who tested negative, COVID-19-positive individuals reported 1.5 times more symptoms and had higher odds of experiencing 31 out of the 40 listed symptoms during the postinfectious period. These symptoms included olfactory dysfunction, menstruation changes, cardiopulmonary and neurological symptoms. Female sex, middle age (41-55 years), Indigeneity, unemployment, hospital/intensive care unit (ICU) admission at the time of testing and pre-existing health conditions independently predicted a greater number and variety of symptoms. CONCLUSIONS Our results provide evidence that COVID-19 survivors continue to experience a significant number and variety of symptoms. These findings can help inform targeted strategies for the unequally affected population. It is important to offer appropriate management for symptom relief to those who have survived the acute COVID-19 illness.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The infodemic accompanying the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an overwhelming amount of information, including questions, concerns and misinformation. Pandemic fatigue has been identified as a concern from early in the pandemic. With new and ongoing health emergencies in 2022, it is important to understand how pandemic fatigue is being discussed and expressed by users on digital channels. This study aims to explore and report on key narrative themes associated with expressions of pandemic fatigue by users on digital platforms. METHODS This paper describes the collection of publicly available data over a 3-month period from multiple online sources using the Meltwater and CrowdTangle platforms to source data from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Product Reviews, Twitch, blogs & forums. A comprehensive search strategy was developed and tested. A total of 1,484,042 social media posts were identified during the time-period that included the defined search terms for pandemic fatigue. These data were initially sorted by highest levels of engagement and from this dataset, analysts reviewed the identified posts to isolate and remove irrelevant content and identify dominant narratives. A thematic analysis was carried out on these narratives to identify themes related to expression of pandemic fatigue. Two researchers reviewed the data and themes. RESULTS The thematic analysis of narratives identified six main themes relating to expression of pandemic fatigue, and one theme of counter narratives against pandemic fatigue. Data volume increased concurrent with the time of the mpox emergency announcement. Emergent themes showed the different ways users expressed pandemic fatigue and how it was interlaced with issues of trust, preventative measure acceptance and uptake, misinformation, and being overwhelmed with multiple or sustained emergencies. CONCLUSIONS This paper has identified the different ways users express pandemic fatigue on digital channels over a 3-month period. Better understanding the implications of the information environment on user's perceptions, questions, and concerns regarding pandemic and more broadly emergency fatigue is vital in identifying relevant interventions and, in the longer term, strengthening the global architecture for health emergency preparedness, prevention, readiness and resilience, as evidenced in this paper. There are clear pathways for further research, including incorporating additional languages and reviewing these themes over longer time periods.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Somatic complaints are persistently reported in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Sex and gender influence health and well-being in a variety of ways, but it is unknown how they affect somatic complaints over time after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Therefore, we examined the association between sex and gender on somatic health complaints during the first month (acute) and the first two years (recovery) after PCI. METHODS 514 patients (Mage = 64.2 ± 8.9, 84.2% male) completed the somatic scale of the Health Complaints Scale (including the subscales: cardiopulmonary complaints, fatigue, sleep problems) at baseline, one, 12-, and 24-months post-PCI. In a follow-up study, they filled in additional questionnaires to gauge gender norms, traits, and identity. Linear mixed modeling analyses were used to assess the influence of sex, gender, their interaction, and covariates on somatic complaints for the acute and recovery phases separately. RESULTS A general decline in somatic complaints over time was observed during the acute phase, followed by a stabilization in the recovery phase. Females and individuals with more feminine traits, norms, and identities reported increased somatic complaints. Males with more pronounced feminine norms and females with more masculine norms likewise reported more somatic, cardiopulmonary, and fatigue complaints. Furthermore, age, cardiac history, and comorbid diseases partly explained the associations with somatic complaints. CONCLUSION While somatic complaints improve post-PCI, there are still conspicuous sex and gender differences that need to be considered. Future research should further elaborate upon these discrepancies and incorporate sex and gender in prevention and develop tailored interventions to diminish somatic complaints.

Data-driven subgrouping of youths with depression reveals that resilience is associated with higher physical functioning despite high symptom burden in the Texas Youth Depression and Suicide Research Network (TX-YDSRN). Abstract
BACKGROUND The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) measure, which assesses past week status of seven domains (physical function mobility, anxiety, depressive symptoms, fatigue, peer relationships, pain interference, and pain intensity), represents a new paradigm using patient-reported outcomes. We used a data-driven approach with PROMIS to identify subgroups of youths receiving depression treatment. METHODS Youths (n = 721) enrolled in the Texas Youth Depression and Suicide Research Network who completed the PROMIS were analyzed. Latent class analyses (LCAs) identified subgroups and compared their baseline clinical/sociodemographic features. RESULTS Compared to population norms, our sample had worse than average physical function, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and pain interference. Using LCA, four subgroups were identified: 1) lower symptom severity and higher physical functioning (14.6 %); 2) higher symptom burden, higher pain interference/intensity, and lower physical functioning (52.7 %); 3) higher symptom burden, higher pain interference/intensity, but with higher physical functioning (9.2 %); and 4) higher symptom burden, but lower physical functioning and pain interference/intensity (23.6 %). Group 3 demonstrated higher resilience than Group 2. In contrast, Group 2 had higher anxiety than Group 4. LIMITATIONS Individuals may have different symptom profiles due to the observational nature of the study. Replication of these subgroups may be difficult, as future samples may differ in these characteristics. Further work may demonstrate the stability of these groups. CONCLUSIONS A data-driven analysis identified a small but significant subgroup with high physical functioning despite high symptom burden and pain, and this group reported higher resilience. Resilience-enhancing interventions may help improve functional outcomes in depressed youth.
