Abstract
In the present study, experiments were conducted to assess the influence of nanoscale sulfur in the microbial community structure of metallophytes in Hg-contaminated rhizosphere soil for planting rapeseed. The results showed that the richness and diversity of the rhizobacteria community decreased significantly under Hg stress, but increased slightly after SNPs addition, with a reduction in the loss of Hg-sensitive microorganisms. Moreover, all changes in the relative abundances of the top ten phyla influenced by Hg treatment were reverted when subjected to Hg + SNPs treatment, except for Myxococcota and Bacteroidota. Similarly, the top five genera, whose relative abundance decreased the most under Hg alone compared to CK, increased by 19.05%-54.66% under Hg + SNPs treatment compared with Hg alone. Furthermore, the relative abundance of Sphingomonas, as one of the dominant genera for both CK and Hg + SNPs treatment, was actively correlated with plant growth. Rhizobacteria, like Pedobacter and Massilia, were significantly decreased under Hg + SNPs and were positively linked to Hg accumulation in plants. This study suggested that SNPs could create a healthier soil microecological environment by reversing the effect of Hg on the relative abundance of microorganisms, thereby assisting microorganisms to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soil and reduce the stress of heavy metals on plants.

Abstract
Objective: Quantified MRCP imaging data was used as a reference for design and preparation of a modified percutaneous transhepatic cholangio drainage (PTCD) tube. Methods: 3.0 T upper abdominal MR and MRCP imaging data of 2 300 patients treated from July 2015 to July 2020 at the Department of Radiology of the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University were screened and a total of 381 patients diagnosed with biliary duct structures were identified. Causative etiologies among these patients included pancreatic adenocarcinoma (pancreatic head), cholangiocarcinoma, ampullary carcinoma, as well as intrahepatic and/or extrahepatic bile duct dilation. An improved PTCD tube was designed based on MRCP quantification of left and right hepatic and common hepatic duct length. Results: In the setting of biliary obstruction caused by malignancy, the distance of the left hepatic duct from its origin to the point of left and right hepatic duct confluence was 15.9±3.8 mm, while the distance of the right hepatic duct from its origin to the point of left and right hepatic duct confluence was 12.4±3.2 mm; the length of the bile duct from its origin to the point of left and right hepatic duct confluence was 34.0±8.1 mm. The improved PTCD tube design incorporated an altered length of the drainage orifice. Conclusion: MRCP imaging of the biliary tract is effective for measuring biliary tract length in the setting of pathological dilation. Based on our biliary tract measurements, a modified PTCD tube was designed to more effectively meet drainage requirements and manage biliary obstruction caused by Bismuth-Corlette type Ⅱ and Ⅲ malignancies.

Abstract
Alterations in water regimes or nitrogen (N) availability lead to shifts in the assemblage of rhizosphere microbial community; however, how the rhizosphere microbiome response to concurrent changes in water and N availability remains largely unclear. Herein, we investigated the taxonomic and functional characteristics of rhizobacteria associated with stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni) under varying combinations of water and N levels. Community diversity and predicted functions of rhizobacteria were predominantly altered by drought stress, with N-starvation modulating these effects. Moreover, N fertilization simplified the ecological interactions within rhizobacterial communities and heightened the relative role of stochastic processes on community assembly. In terms of rhizobacterial composition, we observed both common and distinctive changes in drought-responsive bacterial taxa under different N conditions. Generally, the relative abundance of Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes phyla were depleted by drought stress but the Actinobacteria phylum showed increases. The rhizobacterial responses to drought stress were influenced by N availability, where the positive response of δ-proteobacteria and the negative response of α- and γ-proteobacteria, along with Bacteroidetes, were further heightened under N starvation. By contrast, under N fertilization conditions, an amplified negative or positive response to drought were demonstrated in Firmicutes and Actinobacteria phyla, respectively. Further, the drought-responsive rhizobacteria were mostly phylogenetically similar, but this pattern was modulated under N-rich conditions. Overall, our findings indicate an N-dependent specific restructuring of rhizosphere bacteria under drought stress. These changes in the rhizosphere microbiome could contribute to enhancing plant stress tolerance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Serum lipid levels are associated with cancer risk. However, there still have uncertainties about the single and combined effects of low lipid levels on cancer risk. METHODS A prospective cohort study of 33,773 adults in Shanghai between 2016 and 2017 was conducted. Total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels were measured. Cox proportional hazard models were used to assess the association of single and combined lipids with overall, lung, colon, rectal, thyroid gland, stomach, and female breast cancers. The effect of the combination of abnormal lipid score and lifestyle on cancer was also estimated. RESULTS A total of 926 incident cancer cases were identified. In the RCS analysis, hazard ratios (HRs) of overall cancer for individuals with TC < 5.18 mmol/L or with LDL-C < 3.40 mmol/L were higher. Low TC was associated with higher colorectal cancer risk (HR [95% CI] = 1.76 [1.09-2.84]) and low HDL-C increased thyroid cancer risk by 90%. Abnormal lipid score was linearly and positively associated with cancer risk, and smokers with high abnormal lipid scores had a higher cancer risk, compared to non-smokers with low abnormal lipid scores (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Low TC levels were associated with an increased risk of overall and colorectal cancer. More attention should be paid to participants with high abnormal lipid scores and unhealthy lifestyles who may have a higher risk of developing cancer. Determining the specific and comprehensive lipid combinations that affect tumorigenesis remains a valuable challenge.

Abstract
COSA-1 is essential for accurate meiosis in C. elegans . Two null mutants ( cosa-1 ( me13 ) and cosa-1 ( tm3298 ) ) have been notably studied. These null mutants exhibit severe meiotic defects, hindering the observation of the subtle or dynamic nature of COSA-1 function. To overcome these limitations, we developed a C. elegans strain with inducible COSA-1 degradation using the Auxin-Inducible Degron (AID) system. This strain exhibits normal fertility and COSA-1::GFP foci. Auxin treatment successfully depletes COSA-1, resulting in a 96% decrease in progeny viability and 12 univalent chromosomes in diakinesis oocytes. This strain serves as a valuable tool for studying the dynamics of COSA-1.

Abstract
Essential metals play critical roles in maintaining human health as they participate in various physiological activities. Nonetheless, both excessive accumulation and deficiency of these metals may result in neurotoxicity secondary to neuroinflammation and the activation of microglia and astrocytes. Activation of these cells can promote the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It is well known that neuroinflammation plays a critical role in metal-induced neurotoxicity as well as the development of neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and multiple sclerosis (MS). Initially seen as a defense mechanism, persistent inflammatory responses are now considered harmful. Astrocytes and microglia are key regulators of neuroinflammation in the central nervous system, and their excessive activation may induce sustained neuroinflammation. Therefore, in this review, we aim to emphasize the important role and molecular mechanisms underlying metal-induced neurotoxicity. Our objective is to raise the awareness on metal-induced neuroinflammation in neurological disorders. However, it is not only just neuroinflammation that different metals could induce; they can also cause harm to the nervous system through oxidative stress, apoptosis, and autophagy, to name a few. The primary pathophysiological mechanism by which these metals induce neurological disorders remains to be determined. In addition, given the various pathways through which individuals are exposed to metals, it is necessary to also consider the effects of co-exposure to multiple metals on neurological disorders.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN A retrospective observational study. OBSJECTIVE To assess whether the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) can predict cardiopulmonary function in children with idiopathic scoliosis (IS) as an alternative to the cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET). SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA Cardiopulmonary functional impairment in the setting of IS is a common health problem. A simple and convenient assessment method is needed. METHODS We recruited 65 children (eight male, 57 female) aged 10.70-14.84 years old with IS. Radiographic characteristics of the cohort were measured, including Risser's sign and Cobb angle. We measured cardiopulmonary exercise tolerance using both the 6MWT and CPET and their corresponding indicators, including six-minute walking distance (6MWD) and peak oxygen uptake (peak VO2), respectively. Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between 6MWT indicators and IS parameters. Linear regression models were used to explore the relationship between 6MWT and CPET response indicators. RESULTS Over a third of the cohort (35.4%) had a Risser's sign grade of 0, with 21.5% in grade 2 and 3, respectively. The cohort's mean Cobb angle was 26.02 degrees. 6MWD was significantly positively correlated with Risser's sign (R=0.258; P=0.038) and change in respiratory rate (△RR) positively correlated with vertebral rotation (R=0.264; P=0.034). 6MWD positively correlated with peak VO2, peak VO2/heart rate (HR) and metabolic equivalents (METs), and negatively correlated with ventilation equivalent of carbon dioxide slope (VE/VCO2 slope) (P<0.05). These four CPET indicators were found to be predicted from 6MWD in the linear regression model (P<0.05). CONCLUSION CPET response indicators, especially peak VO2, can be predicted using 6MWD among other factors. The 6MWT can therefore be used to rapidly and efficiently predict the cardiorespiratory tolerance of children with IS. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 3.

Abstract
Introduction Bacterial communities play crucial roles in the functioning and resilience of aquatic ecosystems, and their responses to water pollution may be assessed from ecological niches. However, our understanding of such response patterns and the underlying ecological mechanisms remains limited. Methods In this study, we comprehensively investigated the effects of water pollution on the bacterial structure and assembly within different ecological niches, including water, sediment, submerged plant leaf surfaces, and leaf surfaces, using a 16S high-throughput sequencing approach. Results Ecological niches had a greater impact on bacterial community diversity than pollution, with a distinct enrichment of unique dominant phyla in different niches. This disparity in diversity extends to the bacterial responses to water pollution, with a general reduction in α-diversity observed in the niches, excluding leaf surfaces. Additionally, the distinct changes in bacterial composition in response to pollution should be correlated with their predicted functions, given the enrichment of functions related to biogeochemical cycling in plant surface niches. Moreover, our study revealed diverse interaction patterns among bacterial communities in different niches, characterized by relatively simply associations in sediments and intricate or interconnected networks in water and plant surfaces. Furthermore, stochastic processes dominated bacterial community assembly in the water column, whereas selective screening of roots and pollution events increased the impact of deterministic processes. Discussion Overall, our study emphasizes the importance of ecological niches in shaping bacterial responses to water pollution. These findings improve our understanding of the complicated microbial response patterns to water pollution and have ecological implications for aquatic ecosystem health.

Abstract
Comprehensive computational studies were carried out to explore the mechanisms and origin of regioselectivity in the Pd-catalyzed regiodivergent coupling reaction of indazoles and isoprene. Three different insertion models were investigated for regioselectivity 1,2- or 4,3-insertion with respect to the electrophilic sites on isoprene under two different ligands (L1 and L2) and acids ((PhO)2PO2H, (nBuO)2PO2H) via PdII-H species, allyl-π-PdII-O, and indazoles-acid-assisted PdII-π-allyl. The calculated results show that the PdII-π-allyl coordinated mechanism is the most preferred one. The noncovalent interactions between the less bulky ligand L1, substrates, and (PhO)2PO2- are found to be key factors for 1,2-insertion. The 4,3-insertion selectivity is primarily controlled by the steric repulsion of the t-Bu group of bulky ligand L2 and substrate, as well as the geometry distortion. Therefore, the regioselectivity difference of the 1,2- and 4,3-insertion on electrophilic sites is controlled by the synergistic effect of ligands and acids instead of the size of the ligand. Similarly, nucleophilic site selectivity at N1 or N2 of indazoles is governed by cooperative acid BF3 and solvent iPrOH rather than BF3 alone. Overall, our findings might open a new avenue for designing more efficient regioselective 1,2- or 4,3-addition or N1-/N2-selective nucleophilic reactions.

Abstract
As a prevalent neurodevelopmental disease, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) impairs the learning and memory capacity, and so far, there has been no available treatment option for long-term efficacy. Alterations in gene regulation and synapse-related proteins influence learning and memory capacity; nevertheless, the regulatory mechanism of synapse-related protein synthesis is still unclear in ADHD. LncRNAs have been found participating in regulating genes in multiple disorders. For instance, lncRNA Metastasis Associated Lung Adenocarcinoma Transcript 1 (MALAT1) has an essential regulatory function in numerous psychiatric diseases. However, how MALAT1 influences synapse-related protein synthesis in ADHD remains largely unknown. Here, our study found that MALAT1 decreased in the hippocampus tissue of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) compared to the standard controls, Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats. Subsequent experiments revealed that MALAT1 enhanced the expression of neurexin 1 (NRXN1), which promoted the synapse-related genes (SYN1, PSD95, and GAP43) expression. Then, the bioinformatic analyses predicted that miR-141-3p and miR-200a-3p, microRNAs belonging to miR-200 family and sharing same seed sequence, could interact with MALAT1 and NRXN1 mRNA, which were further confirmed by luciferase report assays. Finally, rescue experiments indicated that MALAT1 influenced the expression of NRXN1 by sponging miR-141-3p/200a-3p. All data verified our hypothesis that MALAT1 regulated synapse-related proteins (SYN1, PSD95, and GAP43) through the MALAT1-miR-141-3p/200a-3p-NRXN1 axis in ADHD. Our research underscored a novel role of MALAT1 in the pathogenesis of impaired learning and memory capacity in ADHD and may shed more light on developing diagnostic biomarkers and more effective therapeutic interventions for individuals with ADHD.

Abstract
Forest soil is a vital pool of organic carbon, which is sensitive to management. Biochar addition could change the CO2 emissions from soil, but its effects are still ambiguous. Moreover, the impacts of particle sizes of biochar on CO2 emissions are still unknown. In this study, a series of field experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of biochar addition on CO2 emissions in a poplar plantation (Populus nigra), China. Biochar with two application rates of (10 and 50 t/ha) and three particle sizes (3-1 mm, 1-0.1 mm, and <0.1 mm) was applied into the surface soil (0-10 cm), and the soil without biochar was set as control. The results showed that a high level of fine biochar addition (1-0.1 mm and <0.1 mm) had similar and positive effects on CO2 emissions by increasing the contents of soil ammonium, available phosphorus, easily oxidizable carbon, soil moisture, soil capillary pore, and the activity of β-glucosidase. However, biochar addition (1-0.1 mm and <0.1 mm) reduced the bioavailability of dissolved organic carbon (DOC), producing a negative relationship between DOC content and CO2 emissions. This investigation highlights the importance of biochar with different particle sizes in adjusting CO2 emissions from temperate soils.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the risk factors and construct a nomogram model for predicting the occurrence of cirrhotic portal vein thrombosis in patients combined with esophagogastric variceal bleeding (EVB). Methods: Clinical data on 416 cirrhotic PVT cases was collected from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University between January 2016 and January 2022. A total of 385 cases were included after excluding 31 cases for retrospective analysis. They were divided into an esophagogastric variceal bleeding group and a non-esophagogastric variceal bleeding group based on the clinical diagnosis. The esophagogastric variceal group was then further divided into an EVB group and a non-bleeding group. All patients underwent gastroscopy, serology, and imaging examinations. The risk factors of PVT combined with EVB were identified by univariate analysis using SPSS 26. The prediction model of cirrhotic PVT in patients combined with EVB was constructed by R 4.0.4. The prediction efficiency and clinical benefits of the model were evaluated by the C-index, area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, calibration plots, and decision curve. The measurement data were examined by a t-test or Mann-Whitney U test. The counting data were tested using the χ(2) test or the Fisher exact probability method. Results: There were statistically significant differences in the etiology, Child-Pugh grade,erythrocyte count, hematocrit, globulin, and serum lipids between the esophageal and non-esophageal varices groups (P < 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in etiology, erythrocyte count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, neutrophil percentage, total protein, globulin, albumin/globulin, urea, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, calcium, and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) between the EVB and non-bleeding groups (P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that etiology (OR = 3.287, 95% CI: 1.497 ~ 7.214), hematocrit (OR = 0.897, 95% CI: 0.853 ~ 0.943), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR = 0.229, 95% CI: 0.071 ~ 0.737) were independent risk factors for cirrhotic PVT patients combined with EVB. The constructed normogram model predicted the probability of bleeding in patients. The nomogram model had shown good consistency and differentiation (AUC = 0.820, 95% CI: 0.707 ~ 0.843), as verified by 10-fold cross-validation (C-index = 0.799) and the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test (P = 0.915). The calibration plot and the decision curve suggested that the prediction model had good stability and clinical practicability. Conclusion: The risk factors for EVB occurrence include etiology, erythrocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit, percentage of neutrophils, total protein, globulin, albumin/globulin, urea, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, calcium, and NLR in patients with cirrhotic liver. The constructed prediction model has good predictive value, and it can provide a reference for medical personnel to screen patients with high bleeding risk for targeted treatment.

Abstract
Mercury (Hg) pollution has seriously threatened the crop productivity and food security. In the present research, experiments were conducted to assess the influence of nanoscale sulfur/sulfur nanoparticles and the corresponding bulk and ionic sulfur forms on the growth and Hg accumulation of oilseed rape seedlings grown on Hg-contaminated soil, as well as the transformation of soil Hg fractions. The results showed a significant reduction in fresh biomass for seedlings grown on 80-200 mg/kg Hg-polluted soil after 30 days. At 120 mg/kg Hg treatment, 100-300 mg/kg sulfur nanoparticles (SNPs) application counteracted Hg toxicity more effectively compared to the corresponding bulk sulfur particles (BSPs) and ionic sulfur (sulfate) treatments. The seedlings treated with 120 mg/kg Hg + 300 mg/kg SNPs gained 54.2 and 56.9% more shoot and root biomass, respectively, compared to those treated with Hg alone. Meanwhile, 300 mg/kg SNPs application decreased Hg accumulation by 18.9 and 76.5% in shoots and roots, respectively, relative to Hg alone treatment.SNPs treatment caused more Hg to be blocked in the soil and accumulating significantly less Hg in plants as compared to other S forms. The chemical fractions of Hg in the soil were subsequently investigated, and the solubility of Hg was significantly decreased by applying SNPs to the soil. Especially 200-300 mg/kg SNPs treatments caused the ratio of the soluble/exchangeable and the specifically absorbed fraction to be the lowest, accounting for 1.95-4.13% of the total Hg of soil. These findings suggest that adding SNPs to Hg-contaminated soils could be an effective measure for immobilizing soluble Hg and decreasing the Hg concentration in the edible parts of crops. The results of the current study hold promise for the practical application of SNPs to Hg-contaminated farmland for better yields and simultaneously increasing the food safety.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the rate of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) revision surgeries and clinical information of hip-/knee- PJI cases nationwide from 2015 to 2017 in China. Methods: An epidemiological investigation. A self-designed questionnaire and convenience sampling were used to survey 41 regional joint replacement centers nationwide from November 2018 to December 2019 in China. The PJI was diagnosed according to the Musculoskeletal Infection Association criteria. Data of PJI patients were obtained by searching the inpatient database of each hospital. Questionnaire entries were extracted from the clinical records by specialist. Then the differences in rate of PJI revision surgery between hip- and knee- PJI revision cases were calculated and compared. Results: Total of 36 hospitals (87.8%) nationwide reported data on 99 791 hip and knee arthroplasties performed from 2015 to 2017, with 946 revisions due to PJI (0.96%). The overall hip-PJI revision rate was 0.99% (481/48 574), and it was 0.97% (135/13 963), 0.97% (153/15 730) and 1.07% (193/17 881) in of 2015, 2016, 2017, respectively. The overall knee-PJI revision rate was 0.91% (465/51 271), and it was 0.90% (131/14 650), 0.88% (155/17 693) and 0.94% (179/18 982) in 2015, 2016, 2017, respectively. Heilongjiang (2.2%, 40/1 805), Fujian (2.2%, 45/2 017), Jiangsu (2.1%, 85/3 899), Gansu (2.1%, 29/1 377), Chongqing (1.8%, 64/3 523) reported relatively high revision rates. Conclusions: The overall PJI revision rate in 34 hospitals nationwide from 2015 to 2017 is 0.96%. The hip-PJI revision rate is slightly higher than that in the knee-PJI. There are differences in revision rates among hospitals in different regions.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the surgical indications and perioperative clinical outcomes of pelvic exenteration (PE) for locally advanced, recurrent pelvic malignancies and complex pelvic fistulas. Methods: This was a descriptive study.The indications for performing PE were: (1) locally advanced, recurrent pelvic malignancy or complex pelvic fistula diagnosed preoperatively by imaging and pathological examination of a biopsy; (2)preoperative agreement by a multi-disciplinary team that non-surgical and conventional surgical treatment had failed and PE was required; and (3) findings on intraoperative exploration confirming this conclusion.Contraindications to this surgical procedure comprised cardiac and respiratory dysfunction, poor nutritional status,and mental state too poor to tolerate the procedure.Clinical data of 141 patients who met the above criteria, had undergone PE in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2018 to September 2022, had complete perioperative clinical data, and had given written informed consent to the procedure were collected,and the operation,relevant perioperative variables, postoperative pathological findings (curative resection), and early postoperative complications were analyzed. Results: Of the 141 included patients, 43 (30.5%) had primary malignancies, 61 (43.3%) recurrent malignancies, 28 (19.9%) complex fistulas after radical resection of malignancies,and nine (6.4%)complex fistulas caused by benign disease. There were 79 cases (56.0%) of gastrointestinal tumors, 30 cases (21.3%) of reproductive tumors, 16 cases (11.3%) of urinary tumors, and 7 cases (5.0%) of other tumors such mesenchymal tissue tumors. Among the 104 patients with primary and recurrent malignancies, 15 patients with severe complications of pelvic perineum of advanced tumors were planned to undergo palliative PE surgery for symptom relief after preoperative assessment of multidisciplinary team; the other 89 patients were evaluated for radical PE surgery. All surgeries were successfully completed. Total PE was performed on 73 patients (51.8%),anterior PE on 22 (15.6%),and posterior PE in 46 (32.6%). The median operative time was 576 (453,679) minutes, median intraoperative blood loss 500 (200, 1 200) ml, and median hospital stay 17 (13.0,30.5)days.There were no intraoperative deaths. Of the 89 patients evaluated for radical PE surgery, the radical R0 resection was achieved in 64 (71.9%) of them, R1 resection in 23 (25.8%), and R2 resection in two (2.2%). One or more postoperative complications occurred in 85 cases (60.3%), 32 (22.7%)of which were Clavien-Dindo grade III and above.One patient (0.7%)died during the perioperative period. Conclusion: PE is a valid option for treating locally advanced or recurrent pelvic malignancies and complex pelvic fistulas.

Abstract
Cadmium (Cd) stress has a major impact on ecosystems, so it is important to find suitable Cd-tolerant plants while elucidating the responsible molecular mechanism for phytoremediation to manage Cd soil contamination. Iris lactea var. chinensis is an ornamental perennial groundcover plant with strong tolerance to Cd. Previous studies found that IlAP2, an AP2/ERF superfamily gene, may be an interacting partner of the metallothionein gene IlMT2a, which plays a key role in Cd tolerance. To study the role of IlAP2 in regulating Cd tolerance in I. lactea, we analyzed its regulation function and mechanism based on a yeast two-hybrid assay, a bimolecular fluorescence complementation test, quantitative real-time PCR, transgenics and transcriptome sequencing. The results showed that IlAP2 interacts with IlMT2a and may cooperate with other transcription factors to regulate genes involved in signal transduction and plant hormones, leading to reduced Cd toxicity by hindering Cd transport. These findings provide insights into the mechanism of IlAP2-mediated stress responses to Cd and important gene resources for improving plant stress tolerance in phytoremediation.

Abstract
Experiments were performed to explore the impact of sulfur nanoparticles (SNPs) on growth, Cu accumulation, and physiological and biochemical responses of oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) inoculated with 5 mg/L Cu-amended MS medium supplemented with or without 300 mg/L SNPs exposure. Cu exerted severe phytotoxicity and inhibited plant growth. SNPs application enhanced the shoot height, root length, and dry weight of shoot and root by 34.6%, 282%, 41.7% and 37.1%, respectively, over Cu treatment alone, while the shoot and root Cu contents and Cu-induced lipid perodixation as the malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in shoots and roots were decreased by 37.6%, 35%, 28.4% and 26.8%. Further, the increases in superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), glutathione reductase (GR) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzyme activities caused by Cu stress were mitigated in shoots (10.9%-37.1%) and roots (14.6%-35.3%) with SNPs addition. SNPs also positively counteracted the negative effects on shoot K, Ca, P, Mg, Mn, Zn and Fe contents and root K, Ca, Mg and Mn contents from Cu exposure alone, and significantly promoted the nutrients accumulation in plant. Additionally, in comparison with common bulk sulfur particles (BSPs) and sulfate, SNPs showed more positive effects on promoting growth in shoots (6.7% and 19.5%) and roots (10.9% and 15.1%), as well as lowering the shoot Cu content (40.1% and 43.3%) under Cu stress. Thus, SNPs application has potential to be a green and sustainable technology for increasing plant productivity and reducing accumulation of toxic metals in heavy metal polluted soils.

Abstract
We studied the effect of dehydrocostus lactone (DHL) on the biological characteristics of HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cells. The inhibition of cell viability by different concentrations of DHL (10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 μmol/liter) was measured using MTT test. As the determined half-maximum inhibitory concentration (IC50) was 20.33 μmol/liter, DHL in a concentration of 20 μmol/liter was used in further experiments. Cell proliferation, migration, invasion ability, and apoptosis were assessed by Ki-67 immunofluorescence, Transwell assay, and TUNEL analysis. The level of p-AKT protein was determined by Western blotting. DHL significantly inhibited the viability, proliferation, migration, and invasion of HepG2 cells in comparison with the control group, and induced cells apoptosis. DHL down-regulated the expression of p-AKT protein in the HepG2 cells in comparison with the control group. PI3K/AKT signaling pathway activator 740Y-P could block the above-mentioned effects of DHL. Thus, DHL inhibits the malignancy of HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cells via down-regulation of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Abstract
PURPOSE Osteoporosis is a risk factor for idiopathic scoliosis (IS) progression, but it is still unclear whether IS patients have bone mineral density (BMD) loss and a higher risk of osteoporosis than asymptomatic people. This systematic review aims to explore the differences in BMD and prevalence of osteoporosis between the IS group and the control group. METHODS We searched 5 health science-related databases. Studies that were published up to February 2022 and written in English and Chinese languages were included. The primary outcome measures consisted of BMD z score, the prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopenia, and areal and volumetric BMD. Bone morphometry, trabecular microarchitecture, and quantitative ultrasound measures were included in the secondary outcome measures. The odds ratio (OR) and the weighted mean difference (WMD) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to pool the data. RESULTS A total of 32 case-control studies were included. The pooled analysis revealed significant differences between the IS group and the control group in BMD z score (WMD -1.191; 95% CI - 1.651 to -0.732, p < 0.001). Subgroup analysis showed significance in both female (WMD -1.031; 95% CI -1.496 to -0.566, p < 0.001) and male participants (WMD -1.516; 95% CI -2.401 to -0.632, p = 0.001). The prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopenia in the group with IS was significantly higher than in the control group (OR = 6.813, 95% CI 2.815-16.489, p < 0.001; OR 1.879; 95% CI 1.548-2.281, p < 0.000). BMD measures by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and peripheral quantitative computed tomography showed a significant decrease in the IS group (all p < 0.05), but no significant difference was found in the speed of sound measured by quantitative ultrasound between the two groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION Both the male and female IS patients had a generalized lower BMD and an increased prevalence of osteopenia and osteoporosis than the control group. Future research should focus on the validity of quantitative ultrasound in BMD screening. To control the risk of progression in IS patients, regular BMD scans and targeted intervention are necessary for IS patients during clinical practice.

Abstract
Risk gene identification has attracted much attention in the past two decades. Since most genes need to be translated into proteins and cooperate with other proteins to form protein complexes to carry out cellular functions, which significantly extends the functional diversity of individual proteins, revealing the molecular mechanism of cancer from a comprehensive perspective needs to shift from identifying individual risk genes toward identifying risk protein complexes. Here, we embed protein complexes into the regularized learning framework and propose a protein complex-based, group Lasso-logistic model (PCLassoLog) to discover risk protein complexes. Experiments on deep proteomic data of two cancer types show that PCLassoLog yields superior predictive performance on independent datasets. More importantly, PCLassoLog identifies risk protein complexes that not only contain individual risk proteins but also incorporate close partners that synergize with them. Furthermore, selection probabilities are calculated and two other protein complex-based models are proposed to complement PCLassoLog in identifying reliable risk protein complexes. Based on PCLassoLog, a pan-cancer analysis is performed to identify risk protein complexes in 12 cancer types. Finally, PCLassoLog is used to discover risk protein complexes associated with gene mutation. We implement all protein complex-based models as an R package PCLassoReg, which may serve as an effective tool to discover risk protein complexes in various contexts.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize the management and short-term outcomes of neonates delivered by mothers infected with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant. Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 158 neonates born to mothers infected with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant admitted to the isolation ward of Children's Hospital of Fudan University from March 15th, 2022 to May 30th, 2022. The postnatal infection control measures for these neonates, and their clinical characteristics and short-term outcomes were analyzed. They were divided into maternal symptomatic group and maternal asymptomatic group according to whether their mothers had SARS-CoV-2 symptoms. The clinical outcomes were compared between the 2 groups using Rank sum test and Chi-square test. Results: All neonates were under strict infection control measures at birth and after birth. Of the 158 neonates, 75 (47.5%) were male. The gestational age was (38+3±1+3) weeks and the birth weight was (3 201±463)g. Of the neonates included, ten were preterm (6.3%) and the minimum gestational age was 30+1 weeks. Six neonates (3.8%) had respiratory difficulty and 4 of them were premature and required mechanical ventilation. All 158 neonates were tested negative for SARS-COV-2 nucleic acid by daily nasal swabs for the first 7 days. A total of 156 mothers (2 cases of twin pregnancy) infected with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant, the time from confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection to delivery was 7 (3, 12) days. Among them, 88 cases (56.4%) showed clinical symptoms, but none needed intensive care treatment. The peripheral white blood cell count of the neonates in maternal symptomatic group was significantly higher than that in maternal symptomatic group (23.0 (18.7, 28.0) × 109 vs. 19.6 (15.4, 36.6) × 109/L, Z=2.44, P<0.05). Conclusions: Neonates of mothers infected with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant during third trimester have benign short-term outcomes, without intrauterine infection through vertical transmission. Strict infection control measures at birth and after birth can effectively protect these neonates from SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between the hepatic caudate lobe boundary and the ductal system so as to guide the identification of the anatomical relationship during liver surgery. Methods: The specific parts were observed and the liver parenchyma was removed according to 41 cadaveric liver autopsy specimens. The critical relationship between the hepatic caudate lobe and other ducts was observed to explore the reticular duct structure. Results: The plane formed by the hepatic hilar plate and Arantius ligament served as the boundary between the caudate lobe and other hepatic lobes. The caudate lobe hepatic portal vein was composed of numerous small branches from its left and right branches. The portal vein adjacent to the vena cava was mainly derived from the left branch, and to a lesser extent from the right branch. Blood was drained straight from the caudate lobe vein into the inferior vena cava via the short hepatic vein. There were three or four bile duct branches in the caudate lobe. The main source of arterial blood flow were the left and right branches of the hepatic artery. An avascular zone of loose connective tissue was found between the caudate lobe and the retrohepatic inferior vena cava. Conclusion: The hepatic caudate lobe is an independent lobe. During hepatic caudate lobe surgery, the plane formed by the hepatic hilar plate and Arantius ligament can serve as the boundary between the caudate lobe and other hepatic lobes and be used for anatomical site identification. The duct system of the caudate lobe's is complicated, but it also has its own distinct regularity.

Abstract
Fluoride agents hold promise for the repair and prevention of caries lesions, but their interaction with enamel is often hampered and diminished because of the dynamic wet environment in the oral cavity, which affects the efficacy of fluoride delivery and limits treatment success. We herein developed a mussel-inspired wet adhesive fluoride system (denoted TS@NaF) fabricated by the self-assembly of tannic acid (TA), silk fibroin (SF), and sodium fluoride (NaF). TS@NaF demonstrated remarkable biological stability and biocompatibility, showed reliable wet adhesion, released fluoride ions (F−) topically, and induced significant deposition of calcium fluoride (CaF2) onto enamel in vitro. Furthermore, TS@NaF provided an anticaries effect in vitro and induced a detectable increase in enamel mineral density. Advanced fluoride-releasing bioadhesives are therefore promising candidates for caries prevention and highlight the great potential of mussel-inspired dental materials in clinical applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to investigate the anatomical characteristics and symmetry of the bilateral glenoid structures of Chinese people and to explore the relationship between the glenoid bone structure and recurrent anterior dislocation. MATERIALS AND METHODS The control group included 131 individuals with no history of shoulder dislocation. The dislocation group consisted of 131 patients with a history of unilateral shoulder dislocation. All subjects underwent computed tomography scans. Glenoid shape (pear-shaped, inverted comma-shaped, oval-shaped), width, height, depth, version angle, area, maximum fitting circle area and volume were measured. RESULTS There was no significant difference in normal bilateral glenoid of Chinese people (p > 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in depth, height to width ratio, maximum fitting circle area and shape between the dislocation and control groups (p < 0.05). Regression analyses showed that the glenoid depth (odds ratio [OR] 0.48; p < 0.01), the glenoid height to width ratio (OR 28.61; p < 0.01), the glenoid maximum fitting circle area (OR 1.01; p < 0.01) and the glenoid shape (p <0.05; pear-shaped OR 0.432; inverted comma-shaped OR 0.954) were associated with anterior shoulder instability. Pear-shaped and inverted comma-shaped glenoid had lower risk of recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation compared to oval glenoid. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that individuals with anterior shoulder instability had smaller glenoid depth and larger height to width ratio and the glenoid maximum fitting circle area compared with the control group. CONCLUSIONS The normal bilateral glenoids of Chinese people are basically symmetrical. The glenoid shape, depth, height to width ratio and maximum fitting circle area are risk factors for recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation. Evaluation of the glenoid bone structure enables more accurate prediction of the risk of recurrent shoulder dislocation.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the situation of influenza vaccination among primary healthcare workers, find out the problems, and explore the strategies and measures to promote influenza vaccination among grass-roots medical staff. Methods: From April to May 2021, key insider interviews and literature research were carried out based on the perspectives of influenza vaccine suppliers (influenza vaccine manufacturers), consumers (primary medical institutions and primary healthcare workers), and managers (governments at all levels, health administrative departments and disease prevention and control departments). The SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis technique was used to comprehensively evaluate the current situation of influenza vaccination among grass-roots healthcare workers, and a SWOT analysis matrix was established. Results: Influenza vaccination of grass-roots healthcare workers have advantages and opportunities, including primary medical and health institutions' vital influenza vaccination accessibility, influenza vaccine safety is higher, COVID-19 outbreak improves the public awareness of respiratory infectious diseases and vaccine production enthusiasm, coronavirus vaccination has strengthened the capacity of the vaccine distribution system. There are also disadvantages and threats such as the high price of influenza vaccine, insufficient supply, low awareness of influenza vaccine vaccination among grass-roots healthcare workers, lack of demand assessment mechanism on influenza vaccine, poor vaccine deployment, structural imbalance in vaccine supply in different areas, and severe vaccine waste. SWOT analysis matrix of the influenza vaccination status of grass-roots healthcare workers was established, forming dominant opportunity (SO) strategy, dominant threat (ST) strategy, inferior opportunity (WO) strategy, and inferior threat (WT) strategy. Conclusion: Measures should be taken by the supplier, the demand-side, and the management side to improve the influenza vaccine coverage rate of primary healthcare workers, but the emphasis should be on the coordination and management of the management side.

Abstract
Enforced enrichment of the active promoter marks trimethylation of histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4me3) and acetylation of histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27ac) by inhibiting histone demethylases and deacetylases is positively associated with hard tissue formation through the induction of osteo/odontogenic differentiation. However, the key endogenous epigenetic modulator of odontoblasts to regulate the expression of genes coding dentin extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins has not been identified. We focused on nuclear factor (NF)-κB inhibitor ζ (IκBζ), which was originally identified as the transcriptional regulator of NF-κB and recently regarded as the NF-κB-independent epigenetic modulator, and found that IκBζ null mice exhibit a thicker dentin width and narrower pulp chamber, with aged mice having more marked phenotypes. At 6 mo of age, dentin fluorescent labeling revealed significantly accelerated dentin synthesis in the incisors of IκBζ null mice. In the molars of IκBζ null mice, marked tertiary dentin formation adjacent to the pulp horn was observed. Mechanistically, the expression of COL1A2 and COL1A1 collagen genes increased more in the odontoblast-rich fraction of IκBζ null mice than in wild type in vivo, similar to human odontoblast-like cells transfected with small interfering RNA for IκBζ compared with cells transfected with control siRNA in vitro. Furthermore, the direct binding of IκBζ to the COL1A2 promoter suppressed COL1A2 expression and the local active chromatin status marked by H3K4me3. Based on whole-genome identification of H3K4me3 enrichment, ECM and ECM organization-related gene loci were selectively activated by the knockdown of IκBζ, which consistently resulted in the upregulation of these genes. Collectively, this study suggested that IκBζ is the key negative regulator of dentin formation in odontoblasts by inhibiting dentin ECM- and ECM organization-related gene expression through an altered local chromatin status marked by H3K4me3. Therefore, IκBζ is a potential target for epigenetically improving the clinical outcomes of dentin regeneration therapies such as pulp capping.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) are myelinated glial cells of the central nervous system (CNS), able to regenerate oligodendrocytes and myelin. This study aimed to elucidate the effect of A2B5-positive (A2B5+) OPC transplantation in rats with spinal cord contusion (SCC) and to investigate changes in expression of various factors involved in the Notch signaling pathway after OPC transplantation. METHODS OPCs were obtained from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) originating from mouse embryo fibroblasts (MEFs). After identification of iPSCs and iPSC-derived OPCs, A2B5+ OPCs were transplanted into the injured site of rats with SCC one week after SCC insult. Behavioral tests evaluated motor and sensory function 7 days after OPC transplantation. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) determined the expression of various cytokines related to the Notch signaling pathway after OPC transplantation. RESULTS IPSC-derived OPCs were successfully generated from MEFs, as indicated by positive immunostaining of A2B5, PDGFα and NG2. Further differentiation of OPCs was identified by immunostaining of Olig2, Sox10, Nkx2.2, O4, MBP and GFAP. Importantly, myelin formation was significantly enhanced in the SCC+ OPC group and SCI-induced motor and sensory dysfunction was largely alleviated by A2B5+ OPC transplantation. Expression of factors involved in the Notch signaling pathway (Notch-1, Numb, SHARP1 and NEDD4) was significantly increased after OPC transplantation. CONCLUSIONS A2B5+ OPC transplantation attenuates motor and sensory dysfunction in SCC rats by promoting myelin formation, which may be associated with change in expression of factors involved in the Notch signaling pathway.

Abstract
Excessive fluoride (F) exposure can lead to liver damage; moreover, recent studies found that the addition of appropriate calcium (Ca) can alleviate the symptom of skeletal fluorosis. However, whether Ca can relieve F-induced liver damage through the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway has not been reported yet. Therefore, we assessed the liver morphology, serum transaminase content, liver oxidative stress-related enzymes, and apoptosis-related gene and protein expression in Sprague Dawley (SD) rats treated with 150 mg/L sodium fluoride (NaF) and different concentrations of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) for 120 days. Our results showed that NaF brought out pathological changes in liver morphology, serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels increased, total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) content decreased, and malondialdehyde (MDA) content increased, suggesting that NaF caused hepatotoxicity and oxidative stress. In addition, the results of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry showed that NaF exposure upregulated the expression of Bcl-2-associated x protein (Bax), rho-related coiled-coil kinase 1 (ROCK1), cytochrome C (Cyto-C) mRNA and protein (P < 0.01), and downregulated B cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) protein and mRNA (P < 0.01), indicating that excessive F exposure activated mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis in the liver. However, the addition of 1% CaCO3 to the diet significantly increased the expression of anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 (P < 0.01), inhibited the activation of the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway, and reduced mitochondrial damage. In summary, supplementing 1% CaCO3 in the diet can alleviate the NaF-induced liver cell damage through the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway.

Abstract
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), a series of cardiovascular diseases based on atherosclerosis, has attracted more clinical attention. However, with the increase of population-based research results, the diagnostic value of traditional blood lipid parameters such as low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) is showing limitations. In recent years, a large number of studies have confirmed that small dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (sdLDL-C) has lower affinity with low-density lipoprotein receptor, longer circulation time and easier to penetrate arterial endothelium, so it has stronger atherogenic effect. Therefore, we summarize the common detection methods of sdLDL-C, the research progress of the correlation between sdLDL-C and ASCVD risk, as well as the intervention measures and influencing factors of sdLDL-C level, in order to deepen the clinician's understanding of the role of sdLDL-C in ASCVD and achieve the early prevention, early detection and early diagnosis of chronic atherosclerosis.

Abstract
Rice is known to accumulate arsenic (As) in its grains, posing serious health concerns for billions of people globally. We studied the effect of nanoscale sulfur (NS) on rice seedlings and mature plants under As stress. NS application caused a 40% increase in seedling biomass and a 26% increase in seed yield of mature plants compared to untreated control plants. AsIII exposure caused severe toxicity to rice; however, coexposure of plants to AsIII and NS alleviated As toxicity, and growth was significantly improved. Rice seedlings treated with AsIII + NS produced 159 and 248% more shoot and root biomass, respectively, compared to plants exposed to AsIII alone. Further, AsIII + NS-treated seedlings accumulated 32 and 11% less As in root and shoot tissues, respectively, than the AsIII-alone treatment. Mature plants treated with AsIII + NS produced 76, 110, and 108% more dry shoot biomass, seed number, and seed yield, respectively, and accumulated 69, 38, 18, and 54% less total As in the root, shoot, flag leaves, and grains, respectively, compared to AsIII-alone-treated plants. A similar trend was observed in seedlings treated with AsV and NS. The ability of sulfur (S) to alleviate As toxicity and accumulation is clearly size dependent as NS could effectively reduce bioavailability and accumulation of As in rice via modulating the gene expression activity of As transport, S assimilatory, and glutathione synthesis pathways to facilitate AsIII detoxification. These results have significant environmental implications as NS application in agriculture has the potential to decrease As in the food chain and simultaneously enable crops to grow and produce higher yields on marginal and contaminated lands.

Abstract
Coronary heart disease (CHD) has been associated with significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although remain controversial, several studies have demonstrated the association of M. pneumoniae infections with atherosclerosis. We evaluated the possible association of mycoplasma infections in patients diagnosed with atherosclerosis by ELISA and PCR methods. Atherosclerotic tissue samples and blood samples were collected for the detection of mycoplasma antibodies (IgA) by ELISA from the 97 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). M. pneumoniae specific IgA, IgG and IgM were measured by using the Anti-M. pneumoniae IgA/IgG/IgM ELISA. Detection of M. pneumoniae targeting the P1 adhesion gene was performed by PCR Acute infection of M. pneumoniae was diagnosed in 43.3% (42) of patients by PCR. The M. pneumoniae specific antibodies were detected in 36.1% (35) of patients. Twenty-five (25.8%) cases had IgG antibodies, 15 (15.5%) cases had IgM antibodies, 3 (3.1%) cases had IgA antibodies, 10 (10.3%) cases had both IgM + IgG antibodies and 1 (1%) case of each had IgM + IgA and IgG + IgA antibodies. None of the cases was positive for all three antibodies. A Pearson correlation coefficient analysis revealed an excellent correlation between the PCR and the serological results (r=0.921, p<0.001). A majority (17, 40.5%) of the M. pneumoniae positive patients are within the 41-50 years of age group, followed by 10 (23.8%) patients in the age group of 61-70 years and 2 (4.8%) patients were >70 years of age. Our study reported an unusually higher prevalence of M. pneumoniae by serological tests (36.1%) and PCR (43.3%). Although the hypothesis of the association of M. pneumoniae and CAD is yet to be proven, the unusually high prevalence of M. pneumoniae in CAD patients indicates an association, if not, in the development of atherosclerosis.

Abstract
Transcriptome analysis revealed the potential mechanism of nitrogen regulating steviol glycosides synthesis via shifting of leaf carbon metabolic flux or inducing certain transcription factors. Nitrogen (N) plays key regulatory roles in both stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) growth and the synthesis of its functional metabolite steviol glycosides (SGs), but the mechanism by which this nutrient regulates SGs synthesis remains to be elucidated. To address this question, a pot experiment was performed in a greenhouse where stevia plants fertilized with N (the control as CK plants) and compared with plants without the supply of N. Physiological and biochemical analyses were conducted to test the growth and metabolic responses of plants to N regimes. Our results showed that N deficiency significantly inhibited plant growth and leaf photosynthesis, while increased leaf SGs contents in stevia (49.97, 46.64 and 84.80% respectively for rebaudioside A, stevioside, and rebaudioside C), which may be partly due to "concentration effect". Then, transcriptome analysis was conducted to understand the underlying mechanisms. A total of 535 differentially expressed genes were identified, and carbon metabolism-related events were highlighted by Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes. Many of these genes were significantly upregulated by N-deficiency, including those involved in "phenylpropanoid biosynthesis", "flavonoid biosynthesis" and "starch and sucrose metabolism". Our study also analyzed the expression patterns of SGs synthesis-related genes under two N regimes and the potential transcription factors linking N nutrition and SG metabolism. N-deficiency may promote SGs synthesis by changing the carbon metabolism flux or inducing certain transcription factors. Our results provide deeper insight into the relationship between N nutrition and SGs synthesis in stevia plants.

Abstract
AIM To explore the value of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) for evaluating early outcomes of CyberKnife radiosurgery for spinal metastases. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients with spinal metastases who were treated with CyberKnife radiosurgery from July 2018 to December 2020 were enrolled. Conventional MRI and DCE-MRI were performed before treatment and at 3 months after treatment. Patients showing disease progression were defined as the progressive disease (PD) group and those showing complete response, partial response, and stable disease were defined as the non-PD group. The haemodynamic parameters (volume transfer constant [Ktrans], rate constant [Kep], and extravascular space [Ve]) before and after treatment between the groups were analysed. Area under the curve (AUC) values were calculated. RESULTS A total of 27 patients with 39 independent spinal lesions were included. The median follow-up time was 18.6 months (6.2-36.4 months). There were 27 lesions in the non-PD group and 12 lesions in the PD group. Post-treatment Kep, ΔKtrans and ΔKep in the non-PD group (0.959/min, - 32.6% and -41.1%, respectively) were significantly lower than the corresponding values in PD group (1.429/min, 20.4% and -6%; p<0.05). Post-treatment Ve and ΔVe (0.223 and 27.8%, respectively) in the non-PD group were significantly higher than that of the PD group (0.165 and -13.5%, p<0.05). ΔKtrans showed the highest diagnostic efficiency, with an AUC of 0.821. CONCLUSIONS DCE-MRI parameters change significantly at an early stage after CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery for spinal metastases. DCE-MRI may be of value in determining the early treatment response.

Abstract
Using polyethylene wax (PW) as the coating matrix, the lambda-cyhalothrin-PW nanosuspoemulsion (LC-PW) with a particle size of 80-150nm was prepared through high-speed stirring, hot melt emulsification and ultrasonic dispersion. The formulation and composition of the LC-PW were optimized, the morphology of the LC-PW was analyzed by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and TEM, and the structure of the LC-PW was characterized by UV and IR. The anti-photolysis test showed that LC-PW had a good anti-photolysis performance. Furthermore, LC-PW could sustainably release Lambda-cyhalothrin, which was pH- and temperature dependent. The insecticidal activity analysis in the greenhouse indicated that the toxic strength between LC-PW and LC-SC (lambda-cyhalothrin-suspension concentrate) to Mythimna separata was similar within the same concentration ranges tested, but the insecticidal duration of LC-PW was significantly longer than LC-SC. Thus, the new type of LC-PW with the properties of anti-photolysis and controlled release is suitable for application in the field as a better insecticide.

Abstract
Nitrogen forms (nitrate (NO3−) or ammonium (NH4+)) are vital to plant growth and metabolism. In stevia (Stevia rebaudiana), it is important to assess whether nitrogen forms can influence the synthesis of the high-value terpene metabolites-steviol glycosides (SGs), together with the underlying mechanisms. Field and pot experiments were performed where stevia plants were fertilized with either NO3− or NH4+ nutrition to the same level of nitrogen. Physiological measurements suggested that nitrogen forms had no significant impact on biomass and the total nitrogen content of stevia leaves, but NO3−-enhanced leaf SGs contents. Transcriptomic analysis identified 397 genes that were differentially expressed (DEGs) between NO3− and NH4+ treatments. Assessment of the DEGs highlighted the responses in secondary metabolism, particularly in terpenoid metabolism, to nitrogen forms. Further examinations of the expression patterns of SGs synthesis-related genes and potential transcription factors suggested that GGPPS and CPS genes, as well as the WRKY and MYB transcription factors, could be driving N form-regulated SG synthesis. We concluded that NO3−, rather than NH4+, can promote leaf SG synthesis via the NO3−-MYB/WRKY-GGPPS/CPS module. Our study suggests that insights into the molecular mechanism of how SG synthesis can be affected by nitrogen forms.

Abstract
Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) causes high mortality in carp. Emodin has been shown of the effects of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiviral. In present study, we investigated the preventive effects and mechanism of emodin on CyHV-3 infection. The ornamental koi carp (Cyprinus carpio haematopterus) were intraperitoneally injected with emodin (10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg, or 40 mg/kg). 72 h later, an intraperitoneal injection of CyHV-3 was administered, and collected the samples one week later to detect the antioxidant parameters, antioxidant genes, inflammatory genes and to perform histopathology assays. The results showed that emodin significantly suppressed CyHV-3 replication (P < 0.05), improved the koi survival rate and slowed the damage caused by CyHV-3. Emodin treatment increased the antioxidant activity and decreased the lipid peroxidation level of the koi. Compared to the CyHV-3 group, emodin treatment resulted in the same antioxidant parameters after CyHV-3 infection. Emodin treatment activated the Nuclear factorery throid 2-related factor 2/Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1-antioxidatant response element (Nrf2/Keap1-ARE) pathway and upregulated the expression of heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) in the hepatopancreas after CyHV-3 infection. Emodin activated the nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) pathway and decreased the expression of interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the koi induced by CyHV-3. In conclusion, emodin treatment can suppress CyHV-3 replication and reduce the mortality of koi caused by CyHV-3. Emodin improves antioxidant function, relieves oxidative stress and inflammation cytokines via Nrf2/Keap1-ARE and NF-κB pathways, and protects against the adverse effects induced by CyHV-3.

The child received examinations of the visual acuity, visual field, fundus, OCT, visual-evoked potential (VEP) and the nerve system, underwent brain MRI and was followed up for 1 year. Genomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood of the child and her parents for next-generation sequencing of the whole exon. The pathogenic gene mutation was identified and the resultant changes in the protein structure was analyzed. OBJECTIVE The patient presented with impaired vision and optic nerve atrophy in both eyes with low amplitude of VEP, but did not show dystonia or pyramidal tract symptom. Brain MRI detected no leukodystrophy. Genetic analysis suggested a heterozygous c.53_54delTG mutation in exon 1 in the NDUFV1 gene of complex I, which caused a frameshift starting with the codon valine 18, thus changing the amino acid to an Alanine residue and creating a premature stop codon at position 20 of the new reading frame (p.Val18AlafsX20). A heterozygous for c.1162+4A>C: IVS8 + 4A>C in intron 8 was also found. Protein structure analysis showed the missing of important structure of NDUFV1 subunit in complex I. OBJECTIVE We identified a novel NDUFV1 mutation in a child with optic nerve atrophy. This finding may provide further insight into the genotype-phenotype correlations for NDUFV1 gene.

Abstract
Proper regulation of the innate immune response to bone biomaterials after implantation is pivotal for successful bone healing. Pro-inflammatory M1 and anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages are known to have an important role in regulating the healing response to biomaterials. Materials with defined structural and topographical features have recently been found to favourably modulate the innate immune response, leading to improved healing outcomes. Calcium phosphate bone grafts with submicron-sized needle-shaped surface features have been shown to trigger a pro-healing response through upregulation of M2 polarised macrophages, leading to accelerated and enhanced bone regeneration. The present review describes the recent research on these and other materials, all the way from benchtop to the clinic, including in vitro and in vivo fundamental studies, evaluation in clinically relevant spinal fusion models and clinical validation in a case series of 77 patients with posterolateral and/or interbody fusion in the lumbar and cervical spine. This research demonstrates the feasibility of enhancing biomaterial-directed bone formation by modulating the innate immune response through topographic surface features.

Abstract
Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni) is well known for its very sweet steviol glycosides (SGs) consisting of a common tetracyclic diterpenoid steviol backbone and a variable glycone. Steviol glycosides are 150-300 times sweeter than sucrose and are used as natural zero-calorie sweeteners. However, the most promising compounds are biosynthesized in small amounts. Based on Illumina, PacBio, and Hi-C sequencing, we constructed a chromosome-level assembly of Stevia covering 1416 Mb with a contig N50 value of 616.85 kb and a scaffold N50 value of 106.55 Mb. More than four-fifths of the Stevia genome consisted of repetitive elements. We annotated 44,143 high-confidence protein-coding genes in the high-quality genome. Genome evolution analysis suggested that Stevia and sunflower diverged ~29.4 million years ago (Mya), shortly after the whole-genome duplication (WGD) event (WGD-2, ~32.1 Mya) that occurred in their common ancestor. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the expanded genes in Stevia were mainly enriched for biosynthesis of specialized metabolites, especially biosynthesis of terpenoid backbones, and for further oxidation and glycosylation of these compounds. We further identified all candidate genes involved in SG biosynthesis. Collectively, our current findings on the Stevia reference genome will be very helpful for dissecting the evolutionary history of Stevia and for discovering novel genes contributing to SG biosynthesis and other important agronomic traits in future breeding programs.

Abstract
Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs), have been commonly used in agriculture, and have attracted more attention for researchers. In this study, a 2-year experiment was conducted involving two Zn types (ZnO NPs and ZnSO4), two concentrations of Zn (25 and 100 mg kg-1), and three Zn application stages (basal stage, tillering stage, and panicle stage). This study comprehensively evaluated the effects of ZnO NPs on rice yield, nutrient uptake, Zn biofortification and grain nutritional quality. Our results showed that both ZnO NPs and Zn salt increased grain yield, NPK uptake, and grain Zn concentration. ZnO NPs application enhanced NPK content in rice, with subsequence increasing panicle number (3.8-10.3%), spikelet number per panicle (2.2-4.7%), and total biomass (6.8-7.6%), thereby promoting the rice yield. Compared with conventional fertilization, ZnO NPs enhanced Zn concentration of brown rice by 13.5-39.4%, this had no negative impact on human health. ZnO NPs application at panicle stage have a higher effectiveness in improving Zn concentration of brown rice than at basal and tillering stage. Furthermore, the application of ZnO NPs at panicle stage was more efficient in increasing Zn concentration of brown rice than for Zn salt. ZnO NPs application slightly altered the amino acids content of rice grains, but had no significant impact on total amino acids content. This study highlights that ZnO NPs could be used as a high performance and safe Zn fertilizer in rice production ecosystem.

Abstract
PURPOSE People with the metabolically obese normal weight (MONW) phenotype are considered as an extremely high-risk group for unfavorable health consequences, but they are frequently undetected due to deceptive body mass index (BMI) and complex assessment. This study aimed to explore the clinical usefulness of cardiometabolic index (CMI) in identifying MONW individuals. METHODS This cross-sectional study involved a total of 47,683 normal-weight subjects aged ≥ 18 years. Participants underwent anthropometrics, routine biochemical tests, and questionnaires for a full evaluation of the metabolic profile. The odds ratio (OR) of CMI and MONW phenotype was determined by the Logistic regression models and the diagnostic accuracy of CMI was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. RESULTS The prevalence of MONW phenotype was 11.0%. After multivariate adjustment, the ORs for MONW in the highest compared with the lowest quartile of CMI was 71.20 (95% CI 55.19-91.86), and 1-SD increment of CMI brought a 54% additional risk. In ROC analysis, compared with BMI and waist circumference, CMI showed superior performance for identifying MONW individuals with an AUC of 0.853 (95% CI 0.847-0.860) in men and 0.912 (95% CI 0.906-0.918) in women, respectively. Moreover, CMI exhibited the highest diagnostic accuracy in younger age groups (aged 18-34 for men; aged 18-34 and 35-44 for women), in which AUCs surpassed 0.9 in both sexes. CONCLUSIONS CMI could be served as a valuable indicator to identify MONW phenotype of Chinese adults, particularly for young people.
