Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetes affects more than 4.3 million individuals in the United Kingdom, with 19% to 34% developing diabetes-related foot ulceration (DFU) during their lifespan, which can lead to an amputation. In the United Kingdom, every week, approximately 169 people have an amputation due to diabetes. Preventing first-ever ulcers is the most effective strategy to reduce the occurrence of diabetes-related amputations, but research in this space is lacking. OBJECTIVE This protocol seeks to document the experiences and perspectives of frontline health care professionals who work with people who have diabetes and diabetes-related foot problems. Special attention is given to their perceptions of barriers to effective care, their views about barriers to effective and inclusive engagement with people with diabetes, and their experience with the first-ever DFU. Another aspect of the study is the focus on whether clinical management is affected by data sharing, data availability, and interoperability issues. METHODS This is a mixed methods explanatory protocol, which is sequential, and its purpose is to use the qualitative data to explain the initial quantitative data collected through a survey of frontline health care professionals. Data analysis of quantitative data will be completed first and then synthesized with the qualitative data analysis. Qualitative data will be analyzed using the framework method. This study will use joint displays to integrate the data. Ethical approval has been granted by the ethics committee of Staffordshire University. RESULTS The quantitative data collection started in March 2023 and will close in May 2024. The qualitative interviews commenced in November 2023 with volunteer participants who initially completed the survey. CONCLUSIONS This study's survey focuses on data interoperability and the interviews focus more on the perspectives and experiences of clinicians and their perceived barriers for the effective management of diabetes foot ulcers. Including a geographically relevant and diverse cohort of health care professionals that spans a wide range of roles and care settings involved in diabetes-related foot care is very important for the successful application of this protocol. Special care is given to advertise and promote participation as widely as possible. The qualitative part of this protocol is also limited to 30-40 interview participants, as it is not realistic to interview higher numbers, due to time and resource constraints. Abstract
To objectively quantify the level of visual interference induced by lasers, we developed a biomimetic optical system designed to emulate human vision. This system is based on an optical model of the eye and synthetic imaging principles, allowing it to generate biomimetic optical images that closely mimic human visual perception. Upon exposure to a 532 nm laser, biomimetic optical images were captured under various ambient lighting conditions. By employing a contrast threshold model for human visual target detection and grayscale hierarchy analysis, we devised an evaluation model to quantify the levels of laser-induced visual interference. The bionic images obtained from our experiments, in conjunction with the constructed model, enabled us to assess the degree of laser-induced visual interference. Our results indicate that this system can effectively substitute the human eye when testing laser imaging effects, with the generated bionic images achieving up to 90% concordance with human vision. The proposed evaluation model facilitates the quantitative analysis of laser-induced visual impairment. This apparatus and evaluation model hold significant promise for the precise quantification of laser-induced visual interference levels.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Individuals with Dravet syndrome (DS) exhibit progressive gait disturbance. No quantitative studies have been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of medication for gait disturbance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of levodopa for pathological gait in people with DS using three-dimensional gait analysis (3DGA). METHODS Nine individuals with DS, ages 6-20 years, participated in a crossover study of levodopa and were randomly assigned to the levodopa precedence or no levodopa precedence group. Levodopa/carbidopa hydrate was prescribed at a dose of 5 mg/kg/day (body weight <60 kg) or 300 mg/day (body weight ≥60 kg). The medication was taken for 4-6 weeks (4-week washout period). 3DGA was performed three times before the study, with and without levodopa. A mixed-effects model was used to evaluate the effectiveness of levodopa. The primary outcome was the change in the Gait Deviation Index (GDI). In addition, spatiotemporal gait parameters, 6-minute walking distance (6MD), and balance were evaluated. The correlation between the effectiveness of levodopa and age or gait performance before starting levodopa was analyzed. RESULTS Levodopa improved the GDI by 4.2 points, (p = .029), 6MD by 52 m (p = .002), and balance test result by 4.1 mm (p = .011) in participants with DS. No severe adverse events were observed, with the exception of one participant, who exhibited fever and consequently stopped taking levodopa. Levodopa was more effective in younger participants with a higher baseline gait performance. SIGNIFICANCE Our randomized crossover trial showed that levodopa has the potential to improve gait disturbance in people with DS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE H3 G34-mutant diffuse hemispheric gliomas (G34m-DHGs) are rare and constitute a new infiltrating brain tumor entity whose characteristics require elucidation, and their difference from isocitrate dehydrogenase-wild-type glioblastomas (IDH-WT-GBMs) needs to be clarified. In this study, the authors report the demographic, clinical, and neuroradiological features of G34m-DHG and investigate the capability of quantitative MRI features in differentiating them. METHODS Twenty-three patients with G34m-DHG and 30 patients with IDH-WT-GBM were included in this retrospective study. The authors reviewed the clinical, radiological, and molecular data of G34m-DHGs and compared their neuroimaging features with those of IDH-WT-GBMs in adolescents and young adults. Visually Accessible Rembrandt Images (VASARI) features were extracted, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was performed. A logistic regression model was constructed to evaluate the diagnostic performance for differentiating between G34m-DHG and IDH-WT-GBM. Subsequently, FeAture Explorer (FAE) was used to generate the machine learning pipeline and select important radiomics features that had been extracted with PyRadiomics. Estimates of the performance were supplied by metrics such as sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and area under the curve (AUC). RESULTS The mean age of the 23 patients with G34m-DHG was 23.7 years (range 11-45 years), younger than the mean age of patients with IDH-WT-GBM (30.96 years, range 5-43 years). All tumors were hemispheric. Most cases were immunonegative for ATRX (95%) and Olig2 (100%), were immunopositive for p53 (95%), and exhibited MGMT promoter methylation (81%). The radiological presentations of G34m-DHG were different from those of IDH-WT-GBM. The majority of the G34m-DHGs were in the frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes and demonstrated no or only faint contrast enhancement (74%), while IDH-WT-GBMs were mostly seen in the frontal lobe and showed marked contrast enhancement in 83% of cases. The FAE-generated model, based on radiomics features (AUC 0.925) of conventional MR images, had better discriminatory performance between G34m-DHG and IDH-WT-GBM than VASARI feature analysis (AUC 0.843). CONCLUSIONS G34m-DHGs most frequently occur in the frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes in adolescent and young adults and are associated with radiological characteristics distinct from those of IDH-WT-GBMs. Successful identification can be achieved by using either VASARI features or radiomics signatures, which may contribute to prognostic evaluation and assist in clinical settings.

Abstract
Since its introduction by Ilizarov, the distraction osteogenesis technique has been used to treat trauma-related conditions, infections, bone tumors, and congenital diseases, either as methods of bone transport or elongation. One of the major dilemmas for the orthopedic surgeon who performs osteogenic distraction is establishing a reproducible method of assessing the progression of the osteogenesis, enabling the early detection of regenerate failures, in order to effectively interfere during treatment, and to determine the appropriate time to remove the external fixator. Several quantitative monitoring methods to evaluate the structural recovery and biomechanical properties of the bone regenerate at different stages, as well as the bone healing process, are under study. These methods can reveal data on bone metabolism, stiffness, bone mineral content, and bone mineral density. The present review comprehensively summarizes the most recent techniques to assess bone healing during osteogenic distraction, including conventional radiography and pixel values in digital radiology, ultrasonography, bone densitometry and scintigraphy, quantitative computed tomography, biomechanical evaluation, biochemical markers, and mathematical models. We believe it is crucial to know the different methods currently available, and we understand that using several monitoring methods simultaneously can be an ideal solution, pointing to a future direction in the follow-up of osteogenic distraction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The deepening of the nasolabial fold (NLF) is a common occurrence during the aging process, necessitating the development of an objective method to evaluate changes in NLFs. The objective of our study was to introduce a method of depth deviation based on three-dimensional (3D) image for evaluating the efficacy of hyaluronic acid (HA) injection in correcting NLFs. METHODS Between May 2019 and November 2019, we recruited 56 Chinese volunteers with moderate to severe NLFs for this study. The participants received HA injections and were followed up for a period of 12 months. Pre and posttreatment, we collected the Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale (WSRS) scores and 3D images. To assess the efficacy of NLF correction, we used the maximum value of depth deviation (MVD) based on 3D images and the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) score. Additionally, we compared the relationship between MVD and other clinical parameters. RESULTS Fifty-four female participants completed the study and were included in the analysis. The HA injection resulted in a significant decrease in NLF severity (p < 0.05). One month after the injection, the average GAIS score was 4.72 ± 0.45, and the average MVD was 2.10 ± 0.56 mm. Both the GAIS score and the average MVD exhibited a decline over time during the follow-up period, with the average MVD showing a significant correlation with the GAIS score at all time points (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Using 3D technology, we demonstrated that the quantitative data provided by MVD can serve as an objective method for evaluating the correction of NLFs.

Abstract
Jasmine tea is loved by most people who drink flower tea owing to its unique aroma, and it is known as the top of flower teas. In our study, the quantitative evaluation of the quality of jasmine tea and detection of aroma components were carried out. First, the flavor quality of 92 kinds of jasmine tea was evaluated using multiple sub-factor quality evaluation methods. According to the evaluation results, jasmine tea was divided into three types: "fresh and lovely" (FL), "heavy and thick" (HT), and "fresh and heavy" (FH). Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to detect the aroma components of the three types of jasmine tea samples. α-Farnesene, cis-3-hexenyl benzoate, acid phenylmethyl ester, linalool, methyl anthranilate, and indole were the main substances that constituted the basic aroma quality characteristics of jasmine tea. Compared to the FL type, the HT and FH types were weaker in the diversification of the characteristic aroma and accumulation of green, herb, sweet, and roast aroma substances. Green and herb aromas play crucial roles in the fresh and persistent qualities of the three types of jasmine tea, which are the key quality factors research focus of jasmine tea.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Endometrial fibrosis may cause infertility. Accurate evaluation of endometrial fibrosis helps clinicians to schedule timely therapy. PURPOSE To explore T2 mapping for assessing endometrial fibrosis. STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION Ninety-seven women with severe endometrial fibrosis (SEF) and 21 patients with mild to moderate endometrial fibrosis (MMEF), diagnosed by hysteroscopy, and 37 healthy women. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3T, T2-weighted turbo spin echo (T2-weighted imaging) and multi-echo turbo spin echo (T2 mapping) sequences. ASSESSMENT Endometrial MRI parameters (T2, thickness [ET], area [EA], and volume [EV]) were measured by N.Z. and Q.H. (9- and 4-years' experience in pelvic MRI) and compared between the three subgroups. A multivariable model including MRI parameters and clinical variables (including age and body mass index [BMI]) was developed to predict endometrial fibrosis assessed by hysteroscopy. STATISTICAL TESTS Kruskal-Wallis; ANOVA; Spearman's correlation coefficient (rho); area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC); binary logistic regression; intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). P value <0.05 for statistical significance. RESULTS Endometrial T2, ET, EA, and EV of MMEF patients (185 msec, 8.2 mm, 168 mm2 , and 2181 mm3 ) and SEF patients (164 msec, 6.7 mm, 120 mm2 , and 1762 mm3 ) were significantly lower than those of healthy women (222 msec, 11.7 mm, 316 mm2 , and 3960 mm3 ). Endometrial T2 and ET of SEF patients were significantly lower than those of MMEF patients. Endometrial T2, ET, EA, and EV were significantly correlated to the degree of endometrial fibrosis (rho = -0.623, -0.695, -0.694, -0.595). There were significant strong correlations between ET, EA, and EV in healthy women and MMEF patients (rho = 0.850-0.908). Endometrial MRI parameters and the multivariable model accurately distinguished MMEF or SEF from normal endometrium (AUCs >0.800). Age, BMI, and MRI parameters in univariable analysis and age and T2 in multivariable analysis significantly predicted endometrial fibrosis. The reproducibility of MRI parameters was excellent (ICC, 0.859-0.980). DATA CONCLUSION T2 mapping has potential to noninvasively and quantitatively evaluate the degree of endometrial fibrosis. Abstract
Atherosclerosis is an important cause of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Lipid infiltration, inflammation, and altered vascular stress are the critical mechanisms that cause atherosclerotic plaque formation. The hallmarks of the progression of atherosclerosis include plaque ulceration, rupture, neovascularization, and intraplaque hemorrhage, all of which are closely associated with the occurrence of CVD. Assessing the severity of atherosclerosis and plaque vulnerability is crucial for the prevention and treatment of CVD. Integrating imaging techniques for evaluating the characteristics of atherosclerotic plaques with computer simulations yields insights into plaque inflammation levels, spatial morphology, and intravascular stress distribution, resulting in a more realistic and accurate estimation of plaque state. Here, we review the characteristics and advancing techniques used to analyze intracranial and extracranial atherosclerotic plaques to provide a comprehensive understanding of atheroma.

Abstract
Introduction Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in tumor tissues is measured as a predictor of the therapeutic efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in many cancer types. PD-L1 expression is evaluated by immunohistochemical staining using 3,3´-diaminobenzidine (DAB) chronogenesis (IHC-DAB); however, quantitative and reproducibility issues remain. We focused on a highly sensitive quantitative immunohistochemical method using phosphor-integrated dots (PIDs), which are fluorescent nanoparticles, and evaluated PD-L1 expression between the PID method and conventional DAB method. Methods In total, 155 patients with metastatic or recurrent cancer treated with ICIs were enrolled from four university hospitals. Tumor tissue specimens collected before treatment were subjected to immunohistochemical staining with both the PID and conventional DAB methods to evaluate PD-L1 protein expression. Results PD-L1 expression assessed using the PID and DAB methods was positively correlated. We quantified PD-L1 expression using the PID method and calculated PD-L1 PID scores. The PID score was significantly higher in the responder group than in the non-responder group. Survival analysis demonstrated that PD-L1 expression evaluated using the IHC-DAB method was not associated with progression-free survival (PFS) or overall survival (OS). Yet, PFS and OS were strikingly prolonged in the high PD-L1 PID score group. Conclusion Quantification of PD-L1 expression as a PID score was more effective in predicting the treatment efficacy and prognosis of patients with cancer treated with ICIs. The quantitative evaluation of PD-L1 expression using the PID method is a novel strategy for protein detection. It is highly significant that the PID method was able to identify a group of patients with a favorable prognosis who could not be identified by the conventional DAB method.

Abstract
It is important to make a differential diagnosis between inflammatory diseases of the bowel with similar clinical and endoscopic features. The profiling of immune cells could be helpful for accurately diagnosing inflammatory bowel diseases. We compared immune marker expression between Crohn's disease (CD), intestinal Behcet's disease (BD), and intestinal tuberculosis (TB) and evaluated the usefulness of immune profiling in differentiating between these diseases. Biopsy specimens were acquired around ulcerations on the terminal ileum or cecum from five patients with each disease. Panel 1 included multiplex immunohistochemistry staining for CD8, CD4, Foxp3, CD20, programmed death-1, and granzyme B. CD56, CD68, CD163, CD11c, and HLA-DR were analyzed in panel 2. The differences in cytotoxic T cells (CD8+CD4-Fopx3-CD20-), helper T cells (CD8-CD4+Fopx3-CD20-), and regulatory T cells (CD8-CD4+Fopx3+CD20-) were also not significant. However, M1 macrophage (CD68+CD163-HLA-DR-) cell densities were significantly higher in intestinal BD than in other diseases. The expression level of dendritic cells (CD56-CD68-CD163-CD11c+HLA-DR+) was highest in intestinal TB and lowest in intestinal BD. The expression of immune cells, including M1 macrophages and dendritic cells, was different between CD, intestinal BD, and intestinal TB. Immune profiling can be helpful for establishing differential diagnoses of inflammatory bowel diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Quantitative analyses of computed tomography (CT) images using computer-aided detection (CAD) are correlated with visual assessments and pulmonary function test findings and might be useful for predicting the prognosis of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). PURPOSE To evaluate the association between the quantitative analysis of long-term follow-up CT of IPF and the progression and prognosis. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 48 patients with IPF who received over one year of follow-up CT were included in this study. The results of quantitative analyses (emphysema, ground-glass attenuation [GGA], consolidation, reticulation, and honeycombing) using a CAD software program of initial and follow-up CT findings were evaluated, and the association with the progression of the total lesion of IPF and prognosis using Spearman's rank correlation and Cox regression analyses was considered. RESULTS Results of quantitative analyses of consolidation, reticulation, honeycombing, and the total lesion on initial CT were correlated with progressive changes in the total lesion of IPF per year (r = 0.4375, 0.4128, 0.4649, and 0.4095, respectively). The results of quantitative analyses of honeycombing (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.40, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.03-1.89, P = 0.0314) and GGA (HR = 0.85, 95% CI = 0.72-0.99, P = 0.0384) at initial CT were prognostic factors according to a multivariate Cox regression analysis. CONCLUSION The quantitative analysis of honeycombing using a CAD software program of CT findings may be useful for predicting the progression and prognosis of patients with IPF.

Glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) is widely used in engineering fields involving aerospace, energy, transportation, etc. If internal buried defects occur due to hostile environments during fabrication and practical service, the structural integrity and safety of GFRP structures would be severely undermined. Therefore, it is indispensable to carry out effective quantitative nondestructive testing (NDT) of internal defects buried within GFRP structures. Along with the development of composite materials, microwave NDT is promising in non-intrusive inspection of defects in GFRPs. In this paper, quantitative screening of the subsurface impact damage and air void in a unidirectional GFRP via microwave reflectometry was intensively investigated. The influence of the microwave polarization direction with respect to the GFRP fiber direction on the reflection coefficient was investigated by using the equivalent relative permittivity calculated with theoretical analysis. Following this, a microwave NDT system was built up for further investigation regarding the imaging and quantitative evaluation of buried defects in GFRPs. A direct-wave suppression method based on singular-value decomposition was proposed to obtain high-quality defect images. The defect in-plane area was subsequently assessed via a proposed defect-edge identification method. The simulation and experimental results revealed that (1) the testing sensitivity to buried defects was the highest when the electric-field polarization direction is parallel to the GFRP fiber direction; and (2) the averaged evaluation accuracy regarding the in-plane area of the buried defect reached approximately 90% by applying the microwave reflectometry together with the proposed processing methods.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES By analyzing the differences of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) features between low- and high-grade of WHO/ISUP grading, to explore the diagnostic value of CEUS in evaluating the prognosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). METHODS The qualitative and quantitative features of CEUS in 69 patients with RCC confirmed by surgical pathology in the Lanzhou University Second Hospital from March to October 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were categorized into two groups: low-grade group (n = 22) and high-grade group (n = 47), with surgical pathology as reference standard. The diagnostic performance of statistically significant CEUS features was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. RESULTS There were statistically significant differences in enhancement degree (P = .032) and quantitative features such as slopelesion (P = .034), the differences between lesion and cortex in arrive time (∆AT = ATlesion - ATcortex , P = .013), peak intensity(∆PI = [PIlesion - PIcortex ]/PIcortex , P = .003), area under the curve (∆Area = Arealesion - Areacortex , P = .008) in two groups, and the sensitivity was 70.2% and specificity was 71.4% of ∆PI, which has a high diagnostic performance in the differentiation of low-grade group from high-grade group (P = .005). CONCLUSIONS CEUS features such as ∆PI, may help differentiate low-grade RCC from high-grade RCC. CEUS has a promising application prospect in preoperative evaluation of the prognosis of RCC.

Abstract
To address the reality that LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and others) students remain more likely to experience harm, harassment, and violence at school as well as miss school due to feeling unsafe and the fact that students identifying as transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming (TNBGNC) are at even greater risk of bullying, harassment, and significant mental health concerns, Chicago Public Schools' (CPS) Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW) created a novel professional development (PD) requirement in 2019, entitled "Supporting Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Nonconforming Students." The PD, a recorded webinar encouraging independent time for reflection and planning, takes an intersectional approach and is required of all CPS staff members across the entire district. A pre- and postevaluation of the PD, guided by the Kirkpatrick model, was completed by 19,503 staff members. The findings from this evaluation show that staff members significantly increased their knowledge, showed statistically significant gain in self-reported skills, and articulated key actions they could take toward sustaining an environment that fosters skill implementation and culture change more broadly. Findings reveal that a culture that supports staff members in learning from their mistakes can help to encourage staff members to employ gender-inclusive behaviors such as asking individuals for their pronouns and using gender-neutral pronouns. This districtwide mandatory PD approach shows value in influencing staff members' thinking and behaviors known to be supportive of TNBGNC students and may serve as a model for other school districts looking to build capacity to support TNBGNC students.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify the problems in clinical radiotherapy planning for cervical cancer through quantitative evaluation of the radiotherapy plans to improve the quality of the plans and the radiotherapy process. METHODS We selected the clinically approved and administered radiotherapy plans for 227 cervical cancer patients undergoing external radiotherapy at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from May, 2019 to January, 2022. These plans were transferred from the treatment planning system to the Plan IQTM workstation. The plan quality metrics were determined based on the guidelines of ICRU83 report, the GEC-ESTRO Working Group, and the clinical requirements of our center and were approved by a senior clinician. The problems in the radiotherapy plans were summarized and documented, and those with low scores were re-planned and the differences were analyzed. RESULTS We identified several problems in the 277 plans by quantitative evaluation. Inappropriate target volume selection (with scores < 60) in terms of GTV, PGTV (CI) and PGTV (V66 Gy) was found in 10.6%, 65.2%, and 1% of the plans, respectively; and the PGTV (CI), GTV, and PCTV (D98%, HI) had a score of 0 in 0.4%, 10.1%, 0.4%, 0.4% of the plans, respectively. The problems in the organs at risk (OARs) involved mainly the intestines (the rectum, small intestine, and colon), found in 20.7% of the plans, and in occasional cases, the rectum, small intestine, colon, kidney, and the femoral head had a score of 0. Senior planners showed significantly better performance than junior planners in PGTV (V60 Gy, D98%), PCTV (CI), and CTV (D98%) (P≤0.046) especially in terms of spinal cord and small intestine protection (P≤0.034). The bowel (the rectum, small intestine and colon) dose was significantly lower in the prone plans than supine plans (P < 0.05), and targets coverage all met clinical requirements. Twenty radiotherapy plans with low scores were selected for re-planning. The re-planned plans had significantly higher GTV (Dmin) and PTV (V45 Gy, D98%) (P < 0.05) with significantly reduced doses of the small intestines (V40 Gy vs V30 Gy), the colon (V40 Gy vs V30 Gy), and the bladder (D35%) (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Quantitative evaluation of the radiotherapy plans can not only improve the quality of radiotherapy plan, but also facilitate risk management of the radiotherapy process.

Abstract
Near-infrared (NIR) imaging with indocyanine green (ICG) has proven to be useful in general, visceral, and transplant surgery. However, most studies have performed only qualitative assessments. Therefore, a systematic overview of all studies performing quantitative indocyanine green evaluation in general, visceral, and transplant surgeries should be conducted. Free term and medical subject heading (MeSH) term searches were performed in the Medline and Cochrane databases until October 2022. The main categories of ICG quantification were esophageal surgery (24.6%), reconstructive surgery (24.6%), and colorectal surgery (21.3%). Concordantly, anastomotic leak (41%) was the main endpoint, followed by the assessment of flap perfusion (23%) and the identification of structures and organs (14.8%). Most studies examined open surgery (67.6%) or laparoscopic surgery (23.1%). The analysis was mainly carried out using manufacturer software (44.3%) and open-source software (15.6%). The most frequently analyzed parameter was intensity over time for blood flow assessment, followed by intensity alone or intensity-to-background ratios for structure and organ identification. Intraoperative ICG quantification could become more important with the increasing impact of robotic surgery and machine learning algorithms for image and video analysis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Tumor heterogeneity and vascularity can be noninvasively quantified using histogram and perfusion analyses on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We compared the association of histogram and perfusion features with histological prognostic factors and progression-free survival (PFS) in breast cancer patients on low-dose CT and MRI. METHODS This prospective study enrolled 147 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer who simultaneously underwent contrast-enhanced MRI and CT before treatment. We extracted histogram and perfusion parameters from each tumor on MRI and CT, assessed associations between imaging features and histological biomarkers, and estimated PFS using the Kaplan-Meier analysis. RESULTS Out of 54 histogram and perfusion parameters, entropy on T2- and postcontrast T1-weighted MRI and postcontrast CT, and perfusion (blood flow) on CT were significantly associated with the status of subtypes, hormone receptors, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (p < 0.05). Patients with high entropy on postcontrast CT showed worse PFS than patients with low entropy (p = 0.053) and high entropy on postcontrast CT negatively affected PFS in the Ki67-positive group (p = 0.046). CONCLUSIONS Low-dose CT histogram and perfusion analysis were comparable to MRI, and the entropy of postcontrast CT could be a feasible parameter to predict PFS in breast cancer patients.

Abstract
Objective Training contributes to the effectiveness of aerosol inhalation therapy. However, qualitative and quantitative evaluation of effective training methods is rarely reported. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a standardized training model by pharmacists based on verbal instruction and physical demonstration in improving patients' ability to use inhalers using qualitative and quantitative methods. Risk or protective factors affecting correct inhaler use were also explored. Methods 431 Outpatients with asthma or COPD were recruited and randomly divided into a standardized training group (n = 280) and a usual training group (control group, n = 151). A framework of qualitative (e.g., multi-criteria analysis) and quantitative comparisons [percentage of correct use (CU%), percentage of complete error (CE%), and percentage of partial error (PE%)] was established to evaluate the two training models. In addition, the changes of key factors (age, education level, adherence, device type, etc.) influencing patients' ability to use inhalers of two models were observed. Results The multi-criteria analysis showed that the standardized training model had comprehensive advantages in qualitative indicators. The average correct use percentage (CU%) of the standardized training group was significantly higher than that of the usual training group (77.6% vs. 35.5%). A stratified analysis further demonstrated that the ORs (95%CI) in the usual training group of age and educational level was 2.263 (1.165-4.398) and 0.556 (0.379-0.815), while in the standardized training group, age and educational level were not the key factors influencing the ability to use inhaler devices (P > 0.05). Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that standardized training was a protective factor for inhalation ability. Conclusion These findings indicate that the framework of qualitative and quantitative comparisons could be used to evaluate training models, and the standardized training model by pharmacists can significantly improve patients' ability to use inhalers correctly and address the influence of older age and lower education because of its methodological advantages. Further studies with more extended follow-up are needed to validate the role of the standardized training model by pharmacists in the correct use of inhalers. Abstract
AIM Quantitative dental plaque evaluation is necessary for clinical and scientific work. This study aimed to examine the reliability of this 3D image analysis method by digitally analysing the colour 3D images obtained from an intraoral scanner, and then detecting and quantifying the plaque information and comparing it with the clinical examination results. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 140 teeth from 5 subjects with a standard dentition were enrolled in this study, and plaque examination was performed at two different stages: after 24 hours without oral hygiene (T1) and after habitual brushing (T2). At each time point, the Quigley-Hein plaque index of each tooth surface was recorded separately, followed by colour 3D images obtained using an intraoral scanner, and image analysis and calculation using Geomagic Wrap 2021. RESULTS It was found that the percentage of plaque staining area calculated from the 3D image analysis correlated well with the plaque index recorded during the clinical examination: the Spearman correlation coefficients were 0.9136 and 0.9061 (p<0.001) for all tooth surfaces at T1 and T2, respectively. The measurements of the three investigators were in good agreement, with intraclass correlation coefficients of 0.989 and 0.992 (P<0.001) for the vestibular and lingual surfaces at T1, and 0.964 and 0.983 (P<0.001) for the vestibular and lingual surfaces at T2. CONCLUSION In this study, we initially developed a digital 3D evaluation system of dental plaque suitable for research and clinical practice and demonstrated its reliability.

Abstract
Targeting glioblastoma (GBM) stem-like cells (GSCs) is a common interest in both the laboratory investigation and clinical treatment of GBM. Most of the currently applied GBM stem-like markers lack validation and comparison with common standards regarding their efficiency and feasibility in various targeting methods. Using single-cell RNA sequencing datasets from 37 GBM patients, we obtained a large pool of 2173 GBM stem-like marker candidates. To evaluate and select these candidates quantitatively, we characterized the efficiency of the candidate markers in targeting the GBM stem-like cells by their frequencies and significance of being the stem-like cluster markers. This was followed by further selection based on either their differential expression in GBM stem-like cells compared with normal brain cells or their relative expression level compared with other expressed genes. The cellular location of the translated protein was also considered. Different combinations of selection criteria highlight different markers for different application scenarios. By comparing the commonly used GSCs marker CD133 (PROM1) with markers selected by our method regarding their universality, significance, and abundance, we revealed the limitations of CD133 as a GBM stem-like marker. Overall, we propose BCAN, PTPRZ1, SOX4, etc. for laboratory-based assays with samples free of normal cells. For in vivo targeting applications that require high efficiency in targeting the stem-like subtype, the ability to distinguish GSCs from normal brain cells, and a high expression level, we recommend the intracellular marker TUBB3 and the surface markers PTPRS and GPR56.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To understand Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) Implementing Agencies'(SIAs) use of the SNAP-Ed Evaluation Framework (Framework), which is a tool that includes 51 indicators that SNAP-Ed programs can use to measure the success of their programs in the first 5 years after its release. METHODS A repeated cross-sectional study design was utilized to administer electronic surveys to between 124 and 154 SIAs who received SNAP-Ed funding in fiscal years 2017, 2019, and 2021. Analyses included descriptive statistics and tests of proportions. RESULTS Most SIAs indicated that they used the Framework to inform both data collection instruments and program planning decisions and the rates remained relatively constant over the 3 time points (> 80%). The most common specific use of the Framework across all 3 time points was to define, count, or measure the work accomplished, but this statistically decreased from 2017 (76%) to 2021 (57%) (z-score = 3.31; P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS The results of this analysis confirmed that 5 years after its introduction, uptake and use of the Framework was high and that, as a whole, SIAs focused on priority indicators set by the US Department of Agriculture, with no notable increases in addressing and measuring longer-term, multisector, and population-wide outcomes. The systematic study of the Framework's usability over time has a broader application to other national health promotion initiatives with shared frameworks.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To construct a quantitative index system with the integrated medical and nursing care assessment for the elderly service needs, this system can assess the cost of medical and care services accurately and objectively, so as to provide scientific basis for the allocation of old-age service resources in China. METHODS Based on the survival needs of the Existence, Relation and Growth theory, an index system is constructed through literature analysis, group discussion, and expert correspondence. Analytic hierarchy process was used to determine the weights of indicators at all levels. The 3-grades service items corresponding to each index were quantified through the measurement of working hours, and the medical and nursing care needs of 624 disabled/demented elderly people over 60 years old in Changsha were investigated to evaluate their reliability and validity. RESULTS The authoritative coefficients of the 2 rounds of expert correspondence were 88.5% and 88.6%, respectively, and the opinion coordination coefficients were 0.159 and 0.167, respectively. The final quantitative evaluation index system included 4 first-level indicators, 17 second-level indicators, and 105 third-level indicators. The service time of doctor ranged from 6.01 to 22.64 min, the service time of nurses ranged from 0.77 to 24.79 min, and the service time of caregiver ranged from 0.12 to 51.88 min. The Cronbach's αcoefficient was 0.73, the split-half reliability was 0.74, the content validity was 0.93, and the calibration validity was 0.781. CONCLUSIONS The quantitative evaluation index system of medical and nursing service need for the elderly can be used to accurately evaluate the medical and nursing service need.

Abstract
Students' behaviors have a close relationship with their learning efficiencies, particularly about professional knowledge. Different types of behaviors should have different influences. Disclosing the special relationship between undergraduate students' conscious safety behaviors in their laboratory experiments with their learning efficiencies is important for fostering them into professional talents. In this study, a course entitled "Advanced Methods of Materials Characterization" was arranged to contain three sections: theoretical learning in the classroom, eight characterization experiments in the laboratory in sequence, and self-training to apply the knowledge. In the final examination, eighteen percent was allocated to the examination questions about safety issues. The students' scores for this section were associated with their total roll scores. Two quantitative relationships are disclosed. One is between the students' final examination score (y) and their subjective consciousness of safety behaviors (x) in their laboratory experiments, as y = 5.56 + 4.83 x (R = 0.9192). The other is between their grade point average (y) and safety behavior evaluation (x) as y = 0.51 + 0.15 x (R = 0.7296). Undergraduate students' behaviors in scientific laboratories need to be verified to have a close and positive relationship with their professional knowledge learning efficiencies. This offers a hint that improving students' safety behaviors and enhancing their subjective safety awareness are conducive to improving their learning efficiency for professional knowledge.

Abstract
Objectives: This work aimed to investigate the feasibility and diagnostic value of synthetic MRI, including T1, T2 and PD values in determining the severity of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). Methods: All subjects (51 CSM patients and 9 healthy controls) underwent synthetic MRI scan on a 3.0T GE MR scanner. The cervical canal stenosis degree of subjects was graded 0-III based on the method of a MRI grading system. Regions of interest (ROIs) were manually drawn at the maximal compression level (MCL) by covering the whole spinal cord to generate T1MCL, T2MCL, and PDMCL values in grade I-III groups. Besides, anteroposterior (AP) and transverse (Trans) diameters of the spinal cord at MCL were measured in grade II and grade III groups, and relative values were calculated as follows: rAP = APMCL/APnormal, rTrans = TransMCL/Transnormal. rMIN = rAP/rTrans. Results: T1MCL value showed a decreasing trend with severity of grades (from grade 0 to grade II, p < 0.05), while it increased dramatically at grade III. T2MCL value showed no significant difference among grade groups (from grade 0 to grade II), while it increased dramatically at grade III compared to grade II (p < 0.05). PDMCL value showed no statistical difference among all grade groups. rMIN of grade III was significantly lower than that of grade II (p < 0.05). T2MCL value was negatively correlated with rMIN, whereas positively correlated with rTrans. Conclusion: Synthetic MRI can provide not only multiple contrast images but also quantitative mapping, which is showed promisingly to be a reliable and efficient method in the quantitative diagnosis of CSM.

Abstract
Background Carotid stenosis can lead to stroke and cognitive impairment. Moreover, the cognitive function was assessed mostly by paper and pencil cognitive tests. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of severe asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis (SACAS) on cognitive function by a computerized neuropsychological assessment device (CNAD). The diagnostic value of screening SACAS of the CNAD was analyzed. Methods There were 48 patients with ≥70% asymptomatic carotid stenosis and 52 controls without carotid stenosis. Duplex ultrasound defined the degree of stenosis. The differences of cognitive function were analyzed between patients and controls. The relationship of scores of cognitive tests and age were analyzed in the linear regression equation. The diagnostic value of CNAD was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results Stenosis and control subjects had no statistically significant differences in baseline characteristics. Stenosis patients had worse scores for Stroop color-word test (p = 0.002), one back test (p = 0.013), and identification test (p = 0.006) corresponding to attention and executive ability. The analysis of linear regression equation indicated that cognitive scores of stenosis patients declined faster with age, especially for digit span test, Stroop color-word test, one back test and identification test. In analysis of ROC curve, the Stroop color-word test (p = 0.002), one back test (p = 0.013), and identification test (p = 0.006), and comprehensive index of the three tests (p = 0.001) had the diagnostic value. Conclusion The CNAD has evaluation value and screening value for patients with cognitive impairment and SACAS. But it is necessary to update the CNAD and conduct a study with a bigger sample.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The demand for physiotherapy clinical placements is rising which requires innovative approaches and an understanding of clinical placement models. OBJECTIVE To determine physiotherapy student contribution to direct patient care activity during a collaborative clinical placement model. Secondary aims determined the impact of clinical area and clinical educator to student (CE:student) ratio and if a group of students could reach equivalent direct patient care activity of a junior or senior physiotherapist. METHOD Physiotherapy student, and junior and senior physiotherapist occasions of service (OOS) were collected from five Queensland Public Health Sector hospital information management systems from four physiotherapy clinical areas (i.e. cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, neurorehabilitation, and orthopedics). Number of days of clinical activity was recorded to provide average OOS/day. RESULTS Across a 5-week clinical placement a group of physiotherapy students in a collaborative clinical placement model provided on average 10.6 OOS/day (95%CI 10.1-11.2). In three (75%) clinical areas, a group of students participating in higher CE:student ratios produced more OOS/day. Clinical area and CE:student ratio predicted 39% of the variance in student average OOS/day. On average a group of students reached the equivalent direct patient care activity of a junior and senior physiotherapist by week two of a 5-week clinical placement. CONCLUSION Physiotherapy students in a collaborative clinical placement model met or exceeded the direct patient care activity of a physiotherapist, irrespective of clinical area and CE:student ratio.

Abstract
Background: The aim of this study was to explore the predictive values of quantitative CT indices of the total lung and lung lobe tissue at discharge for the pulmonary diffusion function of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients at 5 months after symptom onset. Methods: A total of 90 patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 underwent CT scans at discharge, and pulmonary function tests (PFTs) were performed 5 months after symptom onset. The differences in quantitative CT and PFT results between Group 1 (patients with abnormal diffusion function) and Group 2 (patients with normal diffusion function) were compared by the chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test or Mann−Whitney U test. Univariate analysis, stepwise linear regression and logistic regression were used to determine the predictors of diffusion function in convalescent patients. Results: A total of 37.80% (34/90) of patients presented diffusion dysfunction at 5 months after symptom onset. The mean lung density (MLD) of the total lung tissue in Group 1 was higher than that in Group 2, and the percentage of the well-aerated lung (WAL) tissue volume (WAL%) of Group 1 was lower than that of Group 2 (all p < 0.05). Multiple stepwise linear regression identified only WAL and WAL% of the left upper lobe (LUL) as parameters that positively correlated with the percent of the predicted value of diffusion capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (WAL: p = 0.002; WAL%: p = 0.004), and multiple stepwise logistic regression identified MLD and MLDLUL as independent predictors of diffusion dysfunction (MLD: OR (95%CI): 1.011 (1.001, 1.02), p = 0.035; MLDLUL: OR (95%CI): 1.016 (1.004, 1.027), p = 0.008). Conclusion: At five months after symptom onset, more than one-third of moderate and severe COVID-19 patients presented with diffusion dysfunction. The well-aerated lung and mean lung density quantified by CT at discharge could be predictors of diffusion function in convalesce.

Abstract
Thoracic imaging has been revolutionized through advances in technology and research around the world, and so has China. Thoracic imaging in China has progressed from anatomic observation to quantitative and functional evaluation, from using traditional approaches to using artificial intelligence. This article will review the past, present, and future of thoracic imaging in China, in an attempt to establish new accepted strategies moving forward.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There has been a growing interest in exploring the applications of stretched-exponential (SEM) and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) models of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in breast imaging, with the focus on differentiation of breast lesions. However, the use of SEM and IVIM models to predict early response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) has received less attention. PURPOSE To investigate the value of monoexponential, SEM, and IVIM models to predict early response to NACT in patients with primary breast cancer. STUDY TYPE Prospective. POPULATION Thirty-seven patients with primary breast cancer (aged 46 ± 11 years) due to undergo NACT. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCES A 1.5-T MR scanner, T1 -weighted three-dimensional spoiled gradient-echo, two-dimensional single-shot spin-echo echo-planar imaging sequence (DWI) at six b-values (0-800 s mm-2 ). ASSESSMENT Tumor volume, apparent diffusion coefficient, tissue diffusion (Dt ), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (Dp ), perfusion fraction (f), distributed diffusion coefficient, and alpha (α) were extracted, following volumetric sampling of the tumors, at three time-points: pretreatment, post one and three cycles of NACT. STATISTICAL TESTS Mann-Whitney test, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Statistical significance level was P < 0.05. RESULTS Following NACT, 17 patients were determined to be pathological responders and 20 nonresponders. Tumor volume was significantly larger in nonresponders at each MRI time-point and demonstrated reasonable performance in predicting response (area under the ROC curve [AUC] = 0.83-0.87). No significant differences between groups were found in the diffusion coefficients at each time-point (P = 0.09-1). The parameters α (SEM), f, and f × Dp (IVIM) were able to differentiate between response groups after one cycle of NACT (AUC = 0.73, 0.72, and 0.74, respectively). CONCLUSION Diffusion coefficients derived from the monoexponential, SEM, and IVIM models did not predict pathological response. However, the IVIM-derived parameters f and f × Dp and the SEM-derived parameter α were able to predict response to NACT in breast cancer patients following one cycle of NACT. Abstract
(1) Background: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder represented by the progressive loss of dopamine-producing neurons, it decreases the individual’s motor functions and affects the execution of movements. There is a real need to include quantitative techniques and reliable methods to assess the evolution of PD. (2) Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed the variability of wrist RUD (radial and ulnar deviation) and FE (flexion and extension) movements measured by two pairs of capacitive sensors (PS25454 EPIC). The hypothesis was that PD patients have less variability in wrist movement execution than healthy individuals. The data was collected from 29 participants (age: 62.13 ± 9.7) with PD and 29 healthy individuals (60.70 ± 8). Subjects performed the experimental tasks at normal and fast speeds. Six features that captured the amplitude of the hand movements around two axes were estimated from the collected signals. (3) Results: The movement variability was greater for healthy individuals than for PD patients (p < 0.05). (4) Conclusion: The low variability seen in the PD group may indicate they execute wrist RUD and FE in a more restricted way. The variability analysis proposed here could be used as an indicator of patient progress in therapeutic programs and required changes in medication dosage.

Abstract
It is of great reference significance for broadening the research perspective of pandemic governance, improving the efficiency of pandemic governance and the credibility of the government, to scientifically measure and analyze the public medical and health system costs. This article takes the typical case "pandemic prevention and control event of S city, China" as the research background. First, the concept of public medical and health system costs during pandemic governance is defined. Then, the public medical and health system costs are embedded into the pandemic governance system, and the generation process of the public medical and health system costs in the actual situation are investigated. Furthermore, through in-depth interview, multi-case grounded theory and fuzzy subordinate function analysis, the scientific construction of the public medical and health system cost index system are completed. Finally, based on G1 method/entropy method combined with weighting and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the public medical and health system costs of the pandemic prevention and control events of S city is measured. The results show the following: (1) it is important that good single dimensions and reliable indicators are embodied in the public medical and health system costs scale. Among them, the behavioral public medical and health system costs of the masses is the largest proportion of all indicators; (2) after the pandemic prevention and control event is over, the public medical and health system cost are difficult to repair, and some lagging ideas and behaviors shown by local governments lead to a continuous expansion of the public medical and health system costs associated with pandemic governance; and (3) local governments should not conceal information asymmetry. Instead, local governments should give greater freedom to other actors to deal with pandemic governance, and governance entities should cooperate with each other. This will mitigate the effect of public medical and health system costs. Corresponding policy recommendations are proposed.

Abstract
Many healthcare workers who handle anticancer drugs are at risk for occupational exposure. However, there are no established permissible limits for occupational exposure to anticancer drugs; thus, in this study, we aimed to search for and improve procedures that have a greater impact on the amount of spatter for handling anticancer drugs in vials, which are frequently used, based on the quantitative evaluation of the amount of exposure. We used sodium riboflavin phosphate (FMN) as a simulated anticancer drug and measured the amount of FMN dispersed to the handling area by the wiping method and the amount of FMN dispersed in both gloves using high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FL). In this study, it was suggested that the overall amount of dispersal in the preparation process was affected by the different methods of injecting the drug solution into the infusion bottles and whether recapping. It was also found that the variation in the amount of dispersal differed depending on the selected preparation technique. It was suggested that the amount of dispersal could be reduced by selecting an appropriate dissolution method for multiple vials, recapping, an appropriate method for injecting the drug into the infusion bottle, and properly preparing the internal pressure of the infusion bottle. The results of this study suggest that there are some techniques and procedures in the preparation process of vials that have a significant effect on the amount of dispersal, and that proper implementation of these techniques can contribute to the reduction of dispersal.

Abstract
The interplay of specific weather conditions and human activity results due to haze. When the haze arrives, individuals will use microblogs to communicate their concerns and feelings. It will be easier for municipal administrators to alter public communication and resource allocation under the haze if we can master the emotions of netizens. Psychological tolerance is the ability to cope with and adjust to psychological stress and unpleasant emotions brought on by adversity, and it can guide human conduct to some extent. Although haze has a significant impact on human health, environment, transportation, and other factors, its impact on human mental health is concealed, indirect, and frequently underestimated. In this study, psychological tolerance was developed as a psychological impact evaluation index to quantify the impact of haze on human mental health. To begin, data from microblogs in China’s significantly haze-affected districts were collected from 2013 to 2019. The emotion score was then calculated using SnowNLP, and the subject index was calculated using the co-word network approach, both of which were used as social media evaluation indicators. Finally, utilizing ecological and socioeconomic factors, psychological tolerance was assessed at the provincial and prefecture level. The findings suggest that psychological tolerance differs greatly between areas. Psychological tolerance has a spatio-temporal trajectory in the timeseries as well. The findings offer a fresh viewpoint on haze’s mental effects.

Using modeling, we conservatively estimated that rapid response to a multistate foodborne outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium in the United States in 2018 potentially averted 94 reported cases and $633,181 in medical costs and productivity losses.

Abstract
Objective To establish an artificial intelligence-based method to quantitatively evaluate subtle pathological changes in retinal nerve cells and synapses in monosodium glutamate (MSG) mice and provide an effective animal model and technique for quantitative evaluation of retinal neurocytopathies. Methods ICR mice were subcutaneously injected with MSG to establish a model of metabolic syndrome. We then established a mouse model of type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and KKAy mouse model as control. The HE sections of the retina were visualized using an optical microscope. AI technology was used for quantitative evaluation of the retinal lesions in each group of rats. The surface area custom parameters of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), inner plexiform layer (IPL), inner nuclear layer (INL), and outer plexiform layer (OPL) were defined as SR, SIPL, SINL, and SOPL, respectively. Their heights were defined as HR, HIPL, HINL, and HOPL, and the number of ganglion cells was defined as A. Then, the attention-augmented fully convolutional Unet network was used to segment the retinal HE images, and AI technology to identify retinal neurocytopathies quantitatively. Results The attention-augmented fully convolutional Unet network increased PA and IOU parameters for INL, OPL, RNFL, and ganglion cells and was superior in recognizing fine structures. A quantitative AI identification of the height of each layer of the retina showed that the heights of the IPL and INL of the MSG model were significantly less than those of the control groups; the retinas of the other diabetic models did not exhibit this pathological feature. The RNFLs of type 2 diabetes were thinner, and the characteristics of retinopathy were not obvious in the other animal models. The pathological changes seen on HE images were consistent with the results of the quantitative AI evaluation. Immunohistochemistry results showed that NMDAR2A, GluR2, and NRG1 were significantly downregulated in the retina of MSG mice. Conclusions The MSG retinopathy model is closely associated with neurotransmitter abnormalities and exhibits important characteristics of retinal neurodegeneration, making it suitable for studying retinal neurocytopathies. The AI recognition technology for retinal images established in the present study can be used for the quantitative and objective evaluation of drug efficacy.

Abstract
Motor function evaluation is a significant part of post-stroke rehabilitation protocols, and the evaluation of wrist motor function helps provide patients with individualized rehabilitation training programs. However, traditional assessment is coarsely graded, lacks quantitative analysis, and relies heavily on clinical experience. In order to objectively quantify wrist motor dysfunction in stroke patients, a novel quantitative evaluation system based on force feedback and machine learning algorithm was proposed. Sensors embedded in the force-feedback robot record the kinematic and movement data of the subject, and the rehabilitation doctor used an evaluation scale to score the wrist function of the subject. The quantitative evaluation models of wrist motion function based on random forest (RF), support vector machine regression (SVR), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), and back propagation neural network (BPNN) were established, respectively. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed quantitative evaluation system, 25 stroke patients and 10 healthy volunteers were recruited in this study. Experimental results show that the evaluation accuracy of the four models is all above 88%. The accuracy of BPNN model is 94.26%, and the Pearson correlation coefficient between model prediction and clinician scores is 0.964, indicating that the BPNN model can accurately evaluate the wrist motor function for stroke patients. In addition, there was a significant correlation between the prediction score of the quantitative assessment system and the physician scale score (p < 0.05). The proposed system enables quantitative and refined assessment of wrist motor function in stroke patients and has the feasibility of helping rehabilitation physicians in evaluating patients’ motor function clinically.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Current research evidence suggests that people with schizophrenia have sensory processing difficulties. Sensory modulation has growing evidence for use in this population. This study aimed to evaluate the extent to which health, social, cognitive, and occupational functioning outcomes were impacted by sensory modulation interventions for people with schizophrenia. METHODS A prospective observational cohort study using a waitlist control design was used in two large hospital and health services in Queensland, Australia. The study recruited patients who used sensory modulation (n = 30) across the two hospitals and those who did not use sensory modulation interventions as a control (n = 11). Results were analysed using a series of planned comparisons including independent and paired t-tests, and mixed ANOVA was used whenever statistically indicated. The analysed measures were pre- and post-intervention scores. RESULTS This study found no statically significant differences between the control and intervention groups at both pre- and post-intervention. However, analysis of results from within the intervention group showed statistically significant improvements between pre- and post-test scores on distress, occupational functioning, and health and social functioning but not on sensory processing and global cognitive processing. Further analysis of results from this study, compared with those from an earlier study on the general population showed significant differences in Low Registration and Sensation Avoiding, as measured by the Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile, between participants with schizophrenia and those without schizophrenia. CONCLUSION This study provides evidence to suggest that sensory modulation interventions can be complementary to standard care when utilised appropriately in clinical settings. Findings also suggest that the sensory profile of people with schizophrenia is different to that of the general population and this may have clinical implications. Further longitudinal research is needed with larger and randomised samples, using more targeted measures to better explore effectiveness of sensory modulation interventions.

Abstract
Numerous policies have been formulated and implemented to strengthen waste separation management activities in many countries. Waste separation management policies (WSMPs) must be evaluated as the precondition for reducing deviations from policy implementation and improving waste separation performance. Based on text mining technology and the construction of a policy modeling consistency (PMC) index model, we conducted a quantitative evaluation of 22 WSMPs issued by central governmental departments and provinces in the Yangtze River Delta, China from 2013 to 2021 and analyzed their optimization paths. The results suggest that the PMC index of the selected WSMPs has an upward trend. The average PMC index of 22 WSMPs was 6.906, indicating good quality in the policy texts. The PMC index identified seven, nine, five, and one of the policies as being perfect, excellent, good, and acceptable, respectively. The characteristics of WSMPs were further illustrated through PMC surface charts. Based on this, optimization paths for WSMPs with lower PMC indexes are proposed, which indicate that existing WSMPs have great potential for optimization in terms of harsher constraint regulations, context-appropriate incentives, and cultivation of market participants. Finally, this study provides a beneficial reference for similar cities or countries to improve their performance in the management of waste separation and environmental protection.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Patients with lower-leg cast immobilization and patients undergoing knee arthroscopy have an increased risk of venous thrombosis (VT). Guidelines are ambiguous about thromboprophylaxis use, and individual risk factors for developing VT are often ignored. To assist in VT risk stratification and guide thromboprophylaxis use, various prediction models have been developed. These models depend largely on clinical factors and provide reasonably good C-statistics of around 70%. We explored using protein levels in blood plasma measured by multiplexed quantitative targeted proteomics to predict VT. Our aim was to assess whether a VT risk prediction model based on absolute plasma protein quantification is possible. METHODS We used internal standards to quantify proteins in less than 10 μl plasma. We measured 270 proteins in samples from patients scheduled for knee arthroscopy or with lower-leg cast immobilization. The two prospective POT-(K)CAST trails allow complementary views of VT signature in blood, namely pre and post trauma, respectively. From approximately 3000 patients, 31 patients developed VT who were included and matched with double the number of controls. RESULTS Top discriminating proteins between cases and controls included APOC3, APOC4, APOC2, ATRN, F13B, and F2 in knee arthroscopy patients and APOE, SERPINF2, B2M, F13B, AFM, and C1QC in patients with lower-leg cast. A logistic regression model with cross-validation resulted in C-statistics of 88.1% (95% CI: 85.7-90.6%) and 79.6% (95% CI: 77.2-82.0%) for knee arthroscopy and cast immobilization groups respectively. CONCLUSIONS Promising C-statistics merit further exploration of the value of proteomic tests for predicting VT risk upon additional validation.

Abstract
Objective: This study used model analysis to clarify the benefits and risks of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy compared with surgery alone in patients with stage II/III colorectal cancer. Methods: Clinical trials involving patients with stage II/III colorectal cancer who underwent surgery alone or those who received post-surgical adjuvant chemotherapy were searched in the PubMed and embase databases. By establishing a survival model, the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of patients who underwent surgery alone or postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy were quantitatively analyzed to compare the differences between the two. In addition, the incidence of grade 3/4 adverse reactions in the adjuvant chemotherapy group was analyzed using the random effects model in the single-arm meta-analysis. Results: A total of 34 studies containing 33,069 patients were included in the analysis. This study found that postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy can effectively improve the OS and DFS of patients with colorectal cancer. The median OS of the adjuvant chemotherapy group and the surgery-only group was 118.8 months (95% CI: 96.6, 146.6) and 74.6 months (95% CI: 57.8, 96.1) respectively; and median DFS was 86.3 months (95% CI: 67.6, 110.6) and 40.8 months (95% CI: 23.7, 69.6) in the adjuvant chemotherapy and surgery-only groups, respectively. Common grade 3/4 adverse reactions in the adjuvant chemotherapy group include diarrhea, stomatitis, leukopenia, and nausea or vomiting, with an incidence of approximately 3%–6%. Conclusion: Patients with mid-stage colorectal cancer can benefit significantly from postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. This study provides the necessary quantitative information for decision-making regarding the benefits and risks of receiving adjuvant chemotherapy after resection in patients with colorectal cancer.

Abstract
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been a severe health issue affecting the respiratory system and spreads very fast from one human to other overall countries. For controlling such disease, limited diagnostics techniques are utilized to identify COVID-19 patients, which are not effective. The above complex circumstances need to detect suspected COVID-19 patients based on routine techniques like chest X-Rays or CT scan analysis immediately through computerized diagnosis systems such as mass detection, segmentation, and classification. In this paper, regional deep learning approaches are used to detect infected areas by the lungs' coronavirus. For mass segmentation of the infected region, a deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to identify the specific infected area and classify it into COVID-19 or Non-COVID-19 patients with a full-resolution convolutional network (FrCN). The proposed model is experimented with based on detection, segmentation, and classification using a trained and tested COVID-19 patient dataset. The evaluation results are generated using a fourfold cross-validation test with several technical terms such as Sensitivity, Specificity, Jaccard (Jac.), Dice (F1-score), Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC), Overall accuracy, etc. The comparative performance of classification accuracy is evaluated on both with and without mass segmentation validated test dataset.

Abstract
PURPOSE To verify, through quali-quantitative analysis, the satisfaction and adherence of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to the insertion of functional circuit training into conventional training. PATIENTS AND METHODS 23 patients with COPD from a randomized clinical trial were invited to participate in a quali-quantitative analysis after the training finalization, divided into FTG (Functional Training Group) and CTG (Conventional Training Group). A total of 21 patients participated [(FTG: n=10; 65.80±7.31 years; FEV1/FVC: 56.44±12.67%) and CTG (n=11; 70.36±7.02 years; FEV1/FVC: 55.89±8.20)]. For the qualitative evaluation, focus groups were performed, using a previously developed script. Adherence was verified by the presence in the training sessions that were prescribed, and the quantitative analysis was performed using questionnaires with multiple-choice questions (evaluation of the aspects that can interfere in a training). The participants were asked to define a grade between zero and ten regarding the aspects of the training (satisfaction). RESULTS In both groups, there was similar adherence (p=0.965) and satisfaction (p=0.341). The qualitative analysis identified seven themes and 17 codes, representing factors related to satisfaction and negative aspects, as follows: factors associated with satisfaction: self-efficacy management, physical and psychosocial improvement, interpersonal relationships, and proposed exercises. Negative aspects: pains, comorbidities, beliefs, and personal demotivation. In the quantitative analysis, was verified that an increase in the symptoms, the distance between home and training center, and personal problems were not factors that interfered in the adherence of the participants (p<0.05). CONCLUSION Similar satisfaction and adherence of patients with COPD were observed in the FTG and CTG and patients from FTG reported higher fatigue.

Abstract
Whole-prostate gland (WPG) segmentation plays a significant role in prostate volume measurement, treatment, and biopsy planning. This study evaluated a previously developed automatic WPG segmentation, deep attentive neural network (DANN), on a large, continuous patient cohort to test its feasibility in a clinical setting. With IRB approval and HIPAA compliance, the study cohort included 3,698 3T MRI scans acquired between 2016 and 2020. In total, 335 MRI scans were used to train the model, and 3,210 and 100 were used to conduct the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the model. In addition, the DANN-enabled prostate volume estimation was evaluated by using 50 MRI scans in comparison with manual prostate volume estimation. For qualitative evaluation, visual grading was used to evaluate the performance of WPG segmentation by two abdominal radiologists, and DANN demonstrated either acceptable or excellent performance in over 96% of the testing cohort on the WPG or each prostate sub-portion (apex, midgland, or base). Two radiologists reached a substantial agreement on WPG and midgland segmentation (κ = 0.75 and 0.63) and moderate agreement on apex and base segmentation (κ = 0.56 and 0.60). For quantitative evaluation, DANN demonstrated a dice similarity coefficient of 0.93 ± 0.02, significantly higher than other baseline methods, such as DeepLab v3+ and UNet (both p values < 0.05). For the volume measurement, 96% of the evaluation cohort achieved differences between the DANN-enabled and manual volume measurement within 95% limits of agreement. In conclusion, the study showed that the DANN achieved sufficient and consistent WPG segmentation on a large, continuous study cohort, demonstrating its great potential to serve as a tool to measure prostate volume.

Abstract
According to the national railway network construction plan, Investment in railways has increased due to the need for environmentally friendly transportation, and the rail network is expanding throughout South Korea. Railway projects should be evaluated using strategic environmental impact assessments. In the "Guidelines for the Construction of Environment-friendly Railways", seven priority headings that must be considered for railway projects are described. This guide notes that qualitative evaluation must be conducted during the survey process to reasonably predict impacts on the environment. However, quantitative evaluation with specific indicator values may also be necessary. In this study, independence analysis and logistic regression analysis were used to quantitatively evaluate railway environmental and ecological indicators. The results were used to develop a regression model reflecting seven indicators; biodiversity class, ecosystem type, vegetation conservation class, tree age class, ecological naturalness, presence of river ecosystems, and fragmented patch size. The fitness regression model showed 90.3% classification accuracy and the receiver operating curve (ROC) model fit was 88.6%. An environmental quality assessment map was prepared by classifying areas of environmental quality according to five grades. This is the first model for environmental and ecological evaluation of railway projects. Evaluation using the map showed that the railroad passes through areas with lower protection values compared to the results obtained using the national environmental evaluation map. Kappa analysis showed a low level of agreement between the two maps (kappa coefficient = 0.212). The results of this study can be applied to railway development project sites and may help to identify the best sites for the development of an environmentally friendly railway system.

Abstract
Incremental techniques are always required for clinical cases of deep and/or large cavities restored with resin composite materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the bonding states of class 2 direct resin composite restoration applied by various incremental techniques after cyclic loading to simulate the intra-oral environment to define the appropriate technique. Three types of resin composites, namely, bulk-fill (B), flowable (F), and conventional resin composite (C), were applied to standardized class 2 cavities by incremental techniques with single- or bi-resin restoratives. After cyclic loading, the micro-tensile bond strength (μ-TBS) of the dentin cavity floor was measured. The Weibull modulus and Weibull stress values at 10%/90% probability of failure were analyzed. Single-resin incremental restorations with B or F and bi-resin incremental restorations with F + B and F + C demonstrated superior μ-TBS (quantitative ability), bonding reliability, and durability (qualitative ability) compared with the single-resin restoration with C (as control). Furthermore, F + B and F + C restoration yielded an excellent performance compared with the single-resin restorations with B, F, and C. In particular, the F + C restoration, which indicates not only the maximum mean µ-TBS, but also the highest values of the Weibull parameters, may be the optimal restoration method, including the esthetic benefits.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Manual evaluation is an important method for assessing ankle instability, but it is not quantitative. Capacitance-type sensors can be used to measure the distance on the basis of the capacitance value. We applied the sensor to the noninvasive device for measuring ankle instability and showed its utility. METHODS First, 5 ankles embalmed by Thiel's method were used in an experiment using a cadaver. The capacitance-type sensor was fixed alongside the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) of a specially made brace, and the anterior drawer test was performed. The test had been performed for the intact ankle, with the ATFL transected and with both the ATFL and calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) transected. The anterior drawer distance was calculated by the sensor. Intra- and interinvestigator reliability were also analyzed.Next, as a clinical study, a brace with a sensor was fitted to 22 ankles of 20 patients with a history of ankle sprain. An anterior drawer test at a load of 150 N was conducted using a Telos stress device. The anterior drawer distances measured by the sensor and based on radiographic images were then compared. RESULTS The mean anterior drawer distances were 3.7 ± 1.0 mm for the intact cadavers, 6.1 ± 1.6 mm with the ATFL transected (P < .001), and 7.9 ± 1.8 mm with the ATFL and CFL transected (P < .001). The intrainvestigator intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) were 0.862 to 0.939, and the interinvestigator ICC was 0.815. In the experiments on patients, the mean anterior drawer distance measured by the sensor was 2.9 ± 0.9 mm, and it was 2.7 ± 0.9 mm for the radiographic images. The correlation coefficient between the sensor and the radiographic images was 0.843. CONCLUSION We quantitatively evaluated anterior drawer laxity using a capacitance-type sensor and found it had high reproducibility and strongly correlated with stress radiography measurements in patients with ankle instability. Capacitance-type sensors can be used for the safe, simple, and accurate evaluation of ankle instability.

Abstract
Introduction: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is expanding to lower risk and younger patients with severe symptomatic aortic valve disease. Despite clinical and technological improvements, post-procedural aortic regurgitation (AR) remains a limitation of TAVR, particularly when compared to surgical aortic valve replacement. Although several methods for AR quantification after TAVR are currently available, its exact graduation in everyday clinical practice remains challenging.Areas covered: This review describes the currently available evaluation methods of AR after TAVR, with a special emphasis on the quantitative assessment using videodensitometric angiography, echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.Expert opinion: In the majority of clinical scenarios, satisfactory evaluation of post-TAVR AR can be achieved with a combination of post-procedural angiography, hemodynamic indices and transthoracic echocardiography. Nevertheless, some TAVR patients show 'intermediate' forms of post-procedural AR, in which quantitative evaluation is mandatory for prognostic purposes and further decision-making. Notably, interpretation of quantitative measures early post-TAVR is challenging because of the lack of left ventricular enlargement. Video-densitometric angiography is an emerging method that appears to be clinically attractive for immediate post-TAVR assessment, but requires further validation in everyday clinical practice.

Abstract
Although many countries around the world, especially China, highlight the strategy of green development, there has been little research evaluating the effectiveness of green development policies in local area. This study explores 16 policy texts with the theme of green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in China. Using the Policy Modeling Consistency Index (PMC-Index) model, the paper establishes a multi-input-output policy table and scientifically and systematically evaluates these policies. The results show that the average PMC index of the 16 policy texts is 6.83, indicating a high overall quality of policy texts. The index identifies two states of policy effectiveness as being good and excellent; 50% of the total texts fall into these categories and do not fall into the category of having a low level of policy effectiveness. Five indicators, including policy timeliness, social benefits, policy audience scope, and incentives and constraints, significantly impact the PMC-Index of the policy. Six representative policy samples were selected and analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of the policy can be more fully understood by the degree of depression of the PMC's three-dimensional curved surface (PMC-Surface) model. Finally, the paper provides theoretical recommendations for the optimization of the green development policies.

Abstract
Pulmonary emphysema is a cause of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Emphysema can be accurately diagnosed via CT. The severity of emphysema can be assessed using visual interpretation or quantitative analysis. Various studies on emphysema using deep learning have also been conducted. Although the classification of emphysema has proven clinically useful, there is a need to improve the reliability of the measurement.
